  1. Revelation chapter 21.

    Revelation 21 chapter mention

  2. You know, heaven's going to be amazing

  3. for all of those who are in Christ Jesus

  4. when we leave this life.

  5. I believe that'll be instantaneous

  6. based on what Scripture tells me.

  7. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.

  8. And I believe it'll be glorious.

  9. I believe it'll be beyond our imagination

  10. and it'll be better than whatever it is you expect.

  11. It's going to be better.

  12. It's better than any language can describe.

  13. I want you to understand when Christ

  14. or when God through his word

  15. tries to tell us

  16. how dark wickedness is

  17. or how glorious heaven is

  18. or how abundant, abundant life is,

  19. it's limited

  20. to our vocabulary

  21. and our frail, fallible minds.

  22. So we only get a glimpse

  23. of the darkness as well as the light

  24. because there's only so much

  25. that we can fathom.

  26. And it's important that we understand that

  27. when we turn to a book like Revelation

  28. and especially Revelation 21

  29. because if you want to know

  30. what we can know

  31. about heaven here,

  32. Revelation 21 is the best place to go.

  33. And I began sharing that last week

  34. and today I want to share with you

  35. my favorite part of it.

  36. There are a lot of thoughts about heaven

  37. that are not biblical.

  38. They're kind of cutesy.

  39. They may be comforting.

  40. They're just not biblical.

  41. No one has ever died

  42. because God wanted another angel

  43. in his garden.

  44. If that gives you comfort, I'm glad.

  45. It's just not true.

  46. It's not true.

  47. Because we don't become angels

  48. when we die.

  49. You are not angelic here.

  50. And if you don't believe me,

  51. ask whoever you rode with.

  52. And you will not be there.

  53. We'll be complete.

  54. We'll be perfected.

  55. But we will not be angels

  56. or as some people spell it, angles.

  57. We will not be.

  58. If you are a child of God,

  59. you'll be glorified

  60. and you'll be changed.

  61. If you're a child of God,

  62. you have something that angels do not have.

  63. And that is redemption.

  64. An old hymn says,

  65. holy, holy is what the angels sing.

  66. And I expect to help them

  67. make the courts of heaven ring.

  68. But when I sing redemption story,

  69. they'll fold their wings

  70. for angels never felt the joy

  71. that our salvation brings.

  72. We've got something they don't.

  73. Instead, as Psalm 40, verse 2 and 3 tell us,

    Psalms 40:2

  74. we sing the song of the redeemed.

  75. That he drew me out

  76. from the pit of destruction,

  77. out of the miry bog,

  78. set my feet upon a rock,

  79. making my steps secure.

  80. He put a new song in my mouth,

  81. a song of praise to our God.

  82. Many will see and fear

  83. and put their trust in the Lord.

  84. The song of the redeemed

  85. can only be sung by the children of God.

  86. And you don't want to die

  87. and become an angel.

  88. And that's good

  89. because you're not going to be.

  90. Instead, the imperfect saint

  91. will be made perfect,

  92. glorified in the presence of God

  93. with all of the advantages

  94. that come with the promise of eternity.

  95. But let's read about it.

  96. Last week, we read the entirety,

  97. I believe, of Revelation 21,

  98. or at least, no, not all of it,

  99. but almost all of it.

  100. I just want to read a portion

  101. this morning, though.

  102. It's Revelation 21,

  103. beginning in verse 22,

  104. and it says this,

  105. And I saw no temple in the city,

  106. for its temple is the Lord God,

  107. the Almighty, and the Lamb.

  108. And the city had no need

  109. of sun or moon to shine on it,

  110. for the glory of God gives its light.

  111. And its lamp is the Lamb.

  112. By its light will the nations walk,

  113. and the kings of the earth

  114. will bring their glory into it.

  115. And its gates will never be shut by day,

  116. and there'll be no night there.

  117. They will bring into it

  118. the glory and the honor of the nations.

  119. But nothing unclean will ever enter it,

  120. nor anyone who does

  121. what is detestable or false,

  122. but only those who are written

  123. in the Lamb's book of life.

  124. Let's pray together.

  125. Lord Jesus, I ask today

  126. that you will give comfort

  127. to the Christian today.

  128. There may be some who are struggling,

  129. dear God.

  130. I pray, dear God,

  131. that our future will be a comfort

  132. even today.

  133. Lord, for anyone here

  134. who's never accepted you

  135. as his or her personal Lord and Savior,

  136. may today be the day,

  137. oh God,

  138. when you rip the veil off their eyes

  139. and help them to see

  140. what they can have

  141. when they have you.

  142. Lead us, Lord, today.

  143. Help us to respond to you in obedience.

  144. In Jesus' precious name.

  145. Amen.

  146. The promise of eternity

  147. includes the beauty

  148. of the heavenly city.

  149. Verse 11 says,

  150. the glory of God shines in that place.

  151. Like Moses on the Mount of Transfiguration,

  152. we shall shine like the sun

  153. and be clothed in beaming white

  154. due to the glory of God.

  155. The gates of pearl

  156. that I described last week,

  157. the walls of precious stone,

  158. 12 stones, by the way,

  159. all make for a scene

  160. too beautiful for us to imagine.

  161. The walled city,

  162. look at the size

  163. of that walled city.

  164. It says that it is

  165. 12,000 stratia.

  166. I told you that's about,

  167. it is,

  168. 1,380 miles.

  169. It's a cube

  170. of sorts.

  171. And described that way.

  172. But I also talked about,

  173. a little bit about numerology,

  174. and I want to dig a little deeper

  175. into that

  176. just to,

  177. just to wet you whistle,

  178. and then I'm going to run from it.

  179. But,

  180. I mentioned four numbers

  181. that are brought up,

  182. at least in multiples,

  183. multiple times in Revelation.

  184. Three,

  185. which represents the Trinity.

  186. Seven is perfect

  187. because it's creation.

  188. Without the seventh day of rest,

  189. the sixth,

  190. six is,

  191. makes it an unholy number,

  192. and it's tripled at one point,

  193. at least used triple times.

  194. We don't do good enough math

  195. to triple it six times,

  196. so,

  197. you just put six,

  198. six, six,

  199. but it means ultimate evil

  200. is what it speaks of.

  201. Ten speaks of the Ten Commandments,

  202. represents,

  203. symbolizes the Ten Commandments

  204. because the Ten Commandments are,

  205. it's not all the law,

  206. but,

  207. but when you think of the law of God,

  208. you think of the Ten Commandments.

  209. It was summarized that way

  210. when Moses came down

  211. with it off that mountain.

  212. And then 12 is that number

  213. that is complete

  214. because it represents

  215. the 12 tribes,

  216. the complete people of God.

  217. And so,

  218. when you look at the,

  219. in the count of the tribes,

  220. it's 12,000

  221. per tribe.

  222. earlier in the book,

  223. it mentions 12,000.

  224. You add those 12 tribes together,

  225. 12 times 12

  226. times 10

  227. times 10

  228. times 10

  229. is 144.

  230. when you look at 12,000 stratia,

  231. the size of heaven,

  232. it's 12

  233. times 10

  234. to the third power.

  235. So it's 10,

  236. 12 times 10

  237. times 10

  238. times 10.

  239. Do you get the,

  240. the,

  241. the,

  242. the multiplicity

  243. of complete numbers

  244. being used over

  245. and over

  246. and over

  247. and over

  248. again?

  249. The book of Revelation

  250. is a coded

  251. book.

  252. It was written

  253. to seven churches

  254. in Asia Minor,

  255. which represented

  256. because of seven churches

  257. and they encompass

  258. most of Asia Minor,

  259. it,

  260. it really represents

  261. the church.

  262. it was written

  263. to them

  264. to give them hope

  265. for the day

  266. in which they lived.

  267. It was not written

  268. over 2,000 years ago,

  269. almost 2,000 years ago

  270. in order for America

  271. to have a blueprint

  272. of what's going to happen

  273. tomorrow.

  274. Okay?

  275. Because if that was the case,

  276. it wouldn't have wrote it

  277. to seven churches

  278. in Asia Minor

  279. under the persecution

  280. of the Roman Empire.

  281. it was to give them hope

  282. for that day.

  283. And it was written

  284. in a coded language

  285. and they do a better job

  286. of cracking that code

  287. than we do,

  288. but we can look back

  289. into it and see

  290. what those things represent.

  291. So when we see,

  292. I said all that to say,

  293. 12,000 stratia,

  294. 12 times 10,

  295. times 10,

  296. times 10.

  297. Don't think it's,

  298. it's ironic

  299. that there's 12,000

  300. in each tribe

  301. that's represented as well

  302. and that every gate

  303. on the walls

  304. of heaven

  305. has a tribe

  306. named over it.

  307. The point is

  308. there's room, folks.

  309. There's room

  310. for everybody there.

  311. That's the point.

  312. It is perfect.

  313. That,

  314. that walled city

  315. is secure.

  316. Those walls are thick.

  317. The only way

  318. you can get through them

  319. is through that gate of pearl

  320. and,

  321. and they're beautiful

  322. and they're open.

  323. It says they're always open.

  324. Open to all God's children

  325. redeemed by the blood

  326. of Christ

  327. by their personal surrender

  328. to his lordship.

  329. There's room for all.

  330. It's perfectly sized

  331. for all.

  332. So if you're a child

  333. of God,

  334. your reservation

  335. is safe.

  336. There is a place

  337. that is saved

  338. for you.

  339. And if you have

  340. never been saved,

  341. I encourage you

  342. to surrender your life

  343. to the Lord Jesus today

  344. and you can rest

  345. in the security

  346. of your eternity.

  347. Now I want you

  348. to understand something.

  349. If this was all there is,

  350. I mean that we died

  351. and went away

  352. and nothing was there

  353. at all.

  354. That was it.

  355. It would be worth it

  356. to give your life

  357. to Christ today

  358. and live the rest

  359. of your days

  360. for the honor

  361. and the glory of God,

  362. for what he gives us

  363. in this life.

  364. And that will always

  365. be my focus

  366. is the abundant life

  367. that he offers us

  368. in this life

  369. unless I'm preaching

  370. a series on heaven

  371. and then I'm going

  372. to talk about heaven.

  373. But I'm telling you

  374. it's worth it

  375. to give your heart

  376. and life to Christ

  377. in this life.

  378. But oh, my friend,

  379. what you get with that

  380. is an eternal package

  381. because all of heaven

  382. is given to us

  383. and all of it's lit

  384. by the glory

  385. of God and Christ,

  386. the lamp of his glory.

  387. There is no sun there.

  388. There is no stars there.

  389. There is no night there.

  390. We'll get into this

  391. a little later,

  392. but there's no sun

  393. and no night.

  394. There's no chronology either.

  395. Figure that one out.

  396. Eternity is not just

  397. lasting forever.

  398. It's a whole different

  399. echelon of sorts.

  400. Heaven is open.

  401. Gates are open

  402. to receive beautiful

  403. beyond measure

  404. and the light shines eternal

  405. because the Lord

  406. is all the light it needs.

  407. Take a moment,

  408. if you would,

  409. to imagine

  410. the beauty

  411. of heaven.

  412. Now, the reality

  413. is that silence

  414. is enough

  415. uncomfortableness

  416. for us, okay?

  417. But my point

  418. is this.

  419. You can dream it up

  420. all you want to

  421. and you'll never

  422. get a glimpse

  423. of how wonderful

  424. and glorious

  425. heaven is.

  426. Period.

  427. I remember

  428. years ago,

  429. I was watching

  430. WGGS

  431. and somebody

  432. on there,

  433. they were raising

  434. money that day

  435. and somebody

  436. was on there

  437. and had

  438. painted pictures

  439. based on revelation

  440. and based on some

  441. things in the

  442. gospels

  443. of what heaven

  444. looked like

  445. and what hell

  446. looked like

  447. and you could

  448. buy these

  449. for just a

  450. monthly gift

  451. and get these

  452. paintings

  453. and maybe

  454. that

  455. was when I

  456. realized

  457. fella,

  458. you ain't got

  459. a clue

  460. and then I

  461. realized

  462. in reality

  463. even by the

  464. power of the

  465. Holy Spirit

  466. inspiring John

  467. on the island

  468. of Patmos

  469. to give us

  470. the images

  471. that he does,

  472. we still

  473. don't have

  474. a clue.

  475. It is beyond

  476. what we

  477. can imagine.

  478. That's the beauty

  479. of the city.

  480. There's also

  481. this beautiful

  482. reunion of the

  483. church.

  484. It's described

  485. in Revelation

    Revelation 21:3

  486. 21 verse 3

  487. as us dwelling

  488. with him

  489. and I spoke

  490. last week

  491. of an intuitive

  492. knowledge

  493. that we gain

  494. when we

  495. are made

  496. like him,

  497. when we are

  498. beyond this

  499. world.

  500. 1 Corinthians

    1 Corinthians 13:12

  501. 13 verse 12

  502. says now

  503. we see

  504. but a poor

  505. reflection

  506. as in a

  507. mirror dimly

  508. but then

  509. face to face

  510. now I know

  511. in part

  512. then I shall

  513. know fully

  514. even as I

  515. have

  516. am fully

  517. known.

  518. We shall

  519. know each

  520. other.

  521. We shall

  522. know more

  523. of him

  524. and we shall

  525. as the old

  526. song says

  527. understand it

  528. by and by.

  529. Scripture

  530. is clear

  531. that the

  532. Christian will

  533. dwell with

  534. the Lord

  535. worshiping

  536. him.

  537. we shall

  538. be together

  539. and thank

  540. God for the

  541. Christian

  542. heaven will

  543. be a reunion

  544. like we've

  545. never seen.

  546. I talked

  547. about all

  548. of that

  549. last week.

  550. I want to

  551. share with

  552. you the best

  553. part today.

  554. I didn't

  555. take the

  556. time to

  557. share it

  558. last week.

  559. I took

  560. enough time

  561. but I want

  562. to share

  563. with you the

  564. best part

  565. and what is

  566. my favorite

  567. part.

  568. I believe

  569. the real

  570. beauty of

  571. heaven and

  572. that is our

  573. unhindered

  574. encounter with

  575. the Lord.

  576. our heavenly

  577. father is

  578. there.

  579. The

  580. creator

  581. Jehovah

  582. mighty God

  583. Jesus said

  584. our father

  585. which art

  586. in heaven

  587. how it be

  588. thy name.

  589. Unable to

  590. see him

  591. now there

  592. we will

  593. bow before

  594. his very

  595. throne.

  596. Not only

  597. that but

  598. Christ is

  599. there.

  600. Hebrews 9

    Hebrews 9:24

  601. verse 24

  602. says for

  603. Christ has

  604. entered not

  605. into holy

  606. places made

  607. with hands

  608. which are

  609. copies of

  610. the true

  611. things but

  612. into heaven

  613. itself now

  614. to appear

  615. in the

  616. presence of

  617. God on

  618. our behalf.

  619. He is

  620. there and

  621. he is

  622. interceding

  623. on our

  624. behalf.

  625. Hebrews 7

    Hebrews 7:25

  626. verse 25

  627. says consequently

  628. he is able

  629. to save to

  630. the uttermost

  631. those who

  632. draw near to

  633. God through

  634. him since

  635. he listen to

  636. this I love

  637. this always

  638. lives to

  639. make intercession

  640. for them.

  641. So not

  642. only does

  643. Christ

  644. represent

  645. us

  646. advocate

  647. for us

  648. pray on

  649. our behalf

  650. he lives

  651. to do

  652. it.

  653. That's what

  654. gets him

  655. excited

  656. is to

  657. bring us

  658. before the

  659. throne of

  660. God.

  661. Now it's

  662. exciting to

  663. think about

  664. the glories

  665. of heaven

  666. and I get

  667. excited to

  668. think about

  669. seeing my

  670. loved ones.

  671. I get

  672. excited about

  673. the crown

  674. that I can

  675. lay at the

  676. Lord's feet

  677. and by the

  678. way and I'll

  679. get to this

  680. later but any

  681. reward you get

  682. in heaven you're

  683. just going to

  684. lay it at his

  685. feet so don't

  686. get braggadocious

  687. okay.

  688. It all goes to

  689. him.

  690. He gets all

  691. the credit.

  692. But the

  693. people and the

  694. rewards of

  695. heaven don't

  696. even measure

  697. when we

  698. see Christ.

  699. Man that's

  700. where it's

  701. at.

  702. Honestly I

  703. believe when we

  704. see Christ

  705. everything else

  706. will pale so

  707. in comparison.

  708. We won't be

  709. concerned about

  710. the furniture or

  711. the architecture or

  712. the people around

  713. us.

  714. we'll be so

  715. enamored with

  716. the cause of

  717. Christ.

  718. Revelation 7

  719. 9 through 12

  720. says this.

  721. This image,

  722. this vision that

  723. God gave to

  724. John of heaven

  725. says after this I

  726. looked and behold a

  727. great multitude that

  728. no one could

  729. number from

  730. every tribe,

  731. from all the

  732. tribes and people

  733. and languages

  734. standing before the

  735. throne and before

  736. the Lamb clothed

  737. in white robes with

  738. palm branches in

  739. their hands and

  740. crying out with a

  741. loud voice,

  742. salvation belongs

  743. to our God who

  744. sits on the throne

  745. and to the Lamb.

  746. And all the angels

  747. were standing around

  748. the throne and

  749. around the elders and

  750. the four living

  751. creatures.

  752. And they fell on

  753. their faces before

  754. the throne and

  755. worshipped God.

  756. Now I want you to

  757. listen to this because

  758. this is used again and

  759. again in Revelation.

  760. It is a seven, get

  761. the number, a

  762. seven-fold exaltation

  763. of praise.

  764. He said, amen,

  765. blessing and glory and

  766. wisdom and thanksgiving,

  767. honor and power and

  768. might be to our God

  769. forever and ever.

  770. Amen.

  771. Ann Ross' cousin wrote

  772. it beautifully when she

  773. said, the bride eyes,

  774. not her garment, but her

  775. dear bridegroom's face.

  776. I will not gaze at

  777. glory, but on my king

  778. of grace.

  779. Not at the crown he

  780. giveth, but on his

  781. pierced hand.

  782. The Lamb is all the

  783. glory of Emmanuel's

  784. land.

  785. I'm like that little

  786. boy who was trying to

  787. learn Psalm 23 when he

  788. was supposed to say, the

  789. Lord is my shepherd, I

  790. shall not want.

  791. He said, the Lord is my

  792. shepherd, that's all I

  793. want.

  794. Amen.

  795. When I get to heaven, the

  796. victory, the glory, and

  797. the majesty will be

  798. Jesus.

  799. Paul got a glimpse of

  800. it.

  801. Paul got a glimpse of

  802. his majesty on the road

  803. to Damascus.

  804. And you can understand

  805. why he wrote that he had

  806. a desire to depart and be

  807. with Christ, which is far

  808. better than anything this

  809. life offers.

  810. Christ Jesus is the

  811. entrance to heaven.

  812. that gate of pearl.

  813. He is the beauty of

  814. heaven.

  815. He is the glory of

  816. heaven.

  817. You may look at me this

  818. morning and say, preacher,

  819. you know, if heaven's that

  820. grand, I don't deserve to

  821. go.

  822. And you may expect me to

  823. say, oh, but you're a dear

  824. saint of the Lord.

  825. You're a fine person.

  826. You may be fine, folks, but

  827. you don't deserve heaven.

  828. You will not go to heaven

  829. because you deserve it.

  830. Because not a one of us

  831. does.

  832. You will go because you

  833. accept it as a gift from

  834. God.

  835. I've received a lot of

  836. gifts in my life that I do

  837. not deserve.

  838. They were given out of love.

  839. However, I've never received

  840. such a precious gift as

  841. life eternal through Christ

  842. Jesus, my Lord.

  843. D.L.

  844. Moody was a probably the

  845. greatest evangelist, arguably

  846. the greatest evangelist of the

  847. 19th century.

  848. What God did to a man who

  849. wasn't at school was

  850. absolutely amazing how God

  851. used him really across the

  852. world in a time when it was

  853. difficult to get across the

  854. world.

  855. There's a plaque on Court

  856. Street in Boston that shows

  857. where he got saved, working in

  858. a shoe store when a fellow came

  859. and shared Christ with him.

  860. God did a work in D.L.

  861. Moody's life and empowered him

  862. with the Spirit of God and used

  863. him mightily.

  864. Traveled across the country,

  865. leading folks to the Lord,

  866. established what is now called the

  867. Moody Bible Institute in Chicago.

  868. What we know of Sunday school

  869. largely came from D.L.

  870. Moody, promoting it, bringing it

  871. forth.

  872. Wonderful man, used eye

  873. God.

  874. He went to London.

  875. Spurgeon used him some.

  876. He was in London and was

  877. preaching and there was a little

  878. boy that had heard that D.L.

  879. Moody, the great preacher, was

  880. going to preach nearby in that

  881. big city.

  882. That little boy walked all the way

  883. across London that day in order to

  884. go see D.L.

  885. Moody and to hear him preach.

  886. When he finally got to the church

  887. where D.L.

  888. was to preach, he looked up on the

  889. hill and that church was sitting on

  890. the hill and the sun was glowing

  891. off of those windows and he could

  892. hear the voices singing inside.

  893. He could hear the instrumentalist play.

  894. He forgot how tired he was from that

  895. journey and he ran up those steps and

  896. he got to the front door and as he

  897. reached for the front door, a big hand

  898. put his hand on his shoulder.

  899. Turned him around.

  900. What do you think you're doing, boy?

  901. He told him how he had traveled all

  902. day to be able to hear D.L.

  903. Moody and the doorman looked down at

  904. his matted, sweaty head, his unwashed

  905. clothes and his shoeless feet, his

  906. unwashed face and those raggedy clothes

  907. and he said, no, sonny, you're too

  908. dirty.

  909. Be gone.

  910. Little boy was, took back, needless to

  911. say, and went back down those steps but

  912. as little boy would do, he said, there's

  913. got to be a way in here.

  914. So he went around back and looked and

  915. checked every window and every door to

  916. find some way to get in and there wasn't

  917. another way to get in.

  918. Dejected and beaten down and tired, he

  919. sat down on the front step of that

  920. church.

  921. Just sat there crying.

  922. Just then a carriage pulled up.

  923. Beautiful carriage and a stately man

  924. stepped out of that carriage, got out and

  925. marched quickly up those steps and as he

  926. got to where the boy was sitting, he

  927. stopped and looked at the boy and ask him,

  928. what's the matter, boy?

  929. Little boy explained how he had traveled so

  930. far to come and how they wouldn't let him in

  931. because of the state of his circumstances

  932. and the gentleman extended his hand to him

  933. and he said, here, put your hand in mine.

  934. And he walked in that church.

  935. When they entered the back door of that

  936. church, they walked down the aisle and

  937. continued down to the front aisle until he

  938. set the boy on the front row and then he

  939. walked in up to the stage to get ready to

  940. preach.

  941. It was Dr. Dwight L. Moody.

  942. When I die, I don't have the merit on my own to

  943. walk through the gates of glory.

  944. I wish I did.

  945. But I won't.

  946. I've not done enough.

  947. No matter how long God allows me to live, I'll

  948. never do enough to deserve heaven.

  949. I will not approach the throne on my

  950. perfection because I'm far from it.

  951. I'm just a nasty, barefoot, wore-out youngin'

  952. at the gate of glory.

  953. However, there'll be one on a white horse

  954. ride up called the Prince of Peace.

  955. He'll get off and take my hand in his nail-scarred

  956. hand and walk me to the very throne of God

  957. on his shed blood, on his perfection as his gift for me.

  958. Do you know him?

  959. Have you ever put your hand in his?

  960. Have you ever surrendered your life to him?

  961. All of heaven waits for those who've given their heart and

  962. life to the Lord Jesus Christ.

  963. But if you haven't, and you don't, you'll have hell to pay.

  964. With every head bowed and every eye closed, I ask this morning, do you know that you know?

  965. Have you ever given your heart and life to the Lord Jesus?

  966. I want you to know there's always an open invitation.

  967. My number's on the front of the bulletin.

  968. You can contact me anytime you want to.

  969. But I want you to know today's the day of salvation.

  970. If you'll admit your sin to the Lord and ask him to empower you and change your life,

  971. you'll forever be changed in this life and in the next.

  972. If you don't know the Lord or you're uncertain,

  973. don't leave this room without taking care of those matters.

  974. Maybe you're here and you're a Christian today.

  975. But the reality is there's people all around you who do not know the Lord and they don't

  976. know the difference from your life.

  977. There's things in your life, whether they be private or public, that are shameful before

  978. the Lord that you need to clear up.

  979. And you can't do that on your own.

  980. You have to surrender that to the Lord.

  981. I encourage you to make what's wrong right in your life today by simply asking God to

  982. do the same.

  983. If I can help you with that, I'll be happy to.

  984. Maybe you're here this morning and God's drawing you to this congregation.

  985. You know that this is the place where God would have you to be, would have you to serve.

  986. God's telling you that.

  987. Don't you put that off a bit.

  988. You come.

  989. We'd love to guide you in that process.

  990. Last week we celebrated several being baptized in a neat, wonderful service.

  991. If you've acknowledged the Lord privately, but you've never done that publicly and never

  992. acknowledged that through baptism, well, you come and we'll line that up.

  993. We'll set that up.

  994. It'll be the first step of obedience in your Christian walk that you need to take.

  995. I have no idea what God's speaking to you about or what he's telling you, but I know this,

  996. that you'll never be satisfied until you do exactly what he tells you to do.

  997. And so I'll never ask you to do more than he tells you to do.

  998. I'll never ask you to do less.

  999. Just simply be obedient today as he speaks to your heart and life.

1000. Lord Jesus, thank you for the clarity in which you give us.

1001. It's as good as we can understand it about eternity, God.

1002. I'm thankful also that you make it very clear how we get there.

1003. And God, I pray today that Christians will celebrate their eternity by living their life for you.

1004. And that those without you, dear God, will surrender their life to you, Father.

1005. And that today we'll all be stronger because God's people have been obedient as you spoke to us.

1006. Lead and work right now as we sing.

1007. In Jesus' precious name, amen.
