  1. If you have your Bibles, turn to Genesis chapter 6.

    Genesis 6 chapter mention

  2. Genesis chapter 6.

    Genesis 6 chapter mention

  3. We've been blessed so much in music, we can just go home now.

  4. But we're not.

  5. It began with an innocent Adam and Eve.

  6. Then they wasn't innocent anymore.

  7. Sent it in.

  8. And then it hit the next generation with Cain and Abel.

  9. And it didn't stop there.

  10. It continues.

  11. Like a snowball rolling downhill, the impact of sin just kept getting larger.

  12. Destroying more lives.

  13. It led to future generations.

  14. Not only being born into a sinful atmosphere, but born into sin.

  15. With innate appetites that poisoned, that were poisoned with wrong motives.

  16. And misguided ventures.

  17. And the consequences of all of that were huge.

  18. The consequences of all of that are huge.

  19. The evil of the day is explained along with a significant development that makes matters that much worse.

  20. In Genesis chapter 6.

    Genesis 6 chapter mention

  21. Beginning in verse 1.

  22. And it says this.

  23. When man began to multiply on the face of the land and daughters were born to them.

  24. The sons of God saw that the daughters of man were attractive.

  25. And they took as their wives as they chose.

  26. Then the Lord said,

  27. My spirit shall not abide in man forever, for he is flesh.

  28. His days shall be 120 years.

  29. The Neaphalom were on the earth in those days.

  30. And also afterward, when the sons of God came into the daughters of man, and they bore children.

  31. These were the mighty men were of old, the men of renown.

  32. The Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth.

  33. And that every intention of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

  34. And the Lord regretted that he had made man on the earth.

  35. And it grieved him to his heart.

  36. So the Lord said,

  37. I'll blot out man whom I have created from the face of the land.

  38. Man and animals and creeping things and birds of the heavens.

  39. For I am sorry that I've made him.

  40. I don't want you to miss verse 5 in that passage.

  41. Because I believe it is the most significant of what I just read.

  42. When it says,

  43. It says,

  44. The Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth.

  45. And that every intention of the thoughts of the heart was only evil continually.

  46. I believe it's significant when understanding what went wrong.

  47. However,

  48. I'm not going to avoid verses 1 through 4.

  49. It is further evidence of the persistent evil that was in the land.

  50. And it is hard to understand.

  51. And I'll be honest.

  52. It is hard to explain.

  53. However,

  54. I want to do justice to the word.

  55. And I believe it'd be an injustice not to grapple with this with you.

  56. And that's exactly what we'll do.

  57. Because the difficult passages are in verses 2 and verse 4.

  58. When it talks about the sons of God.

  59. So who are these sons of God?

  60. Well, there are two possibilities of who these sons of God are.

  61. One of them is that they are strong, mighty warriors from the line of Seth.

  62. We talked about Cain and Abel last week.

  63. But after Cain and Abel, Adam and Eve had another child named Seth.

  64. And this third son of Adam,

  65. some believe that these are people that came from Seth.

  66. Strong, mighty warriors.

  67. The term sons of God were often used for kings and warriors in that day.

  68. And so if that was the case, if that's what happened,

  69. what you have here is an unequally yoked kind of situation.

  70. Where you have godly people marrying ungodly people and bearing children with them.

  71. If that's what it meant, good godly men went after the women of the world

  72. and brought about an offspring that was even more rebellious against God.

  73. And their influence was paramount

  74. and played a significant role in the overall sinfulness of society.

  75. Therefore, they are spoken of in that way.

  76. God speaks against that often

  77. and it is destructively sinful

  78. to marry those that are not believers.

  79. The other possibility is this.

  80. That it was angelic beings

  81. that came down from heaven

  82. and married women.

  83. That is much harder to understand.

  84. It is much harder to explain.

  85. But it appears that it has some scriptural support to back it.

  86. For one, when the term sons of God are used in the Old Testament,

  87. it is referring to angels.

  88. We see that common in the book of Job.

  89. Right there at the beginning and all that negotiation of Job.

  90. We see him dealing with that

  91. and calling the angels in heaven the sons of God.

  92. There appears as well to be New Testament evidence

  93. that this is the case.

  94. That this really happened.

  95. Some have said that 2 Peter 2, verse 4 speaks of this.

    2 Peter 2:4

  96. When it says,

  97. Now you look at me and say,

  98. Well, preacher, how do you know that's talking about Genesis 6?

  99. Because the very next verse mentions Noah in the context.

  100. So there's a possibility of that.

  101. Actually, Jude chapter 6,

  102. not chapter, there's only one chapter in Jude,

  103. if there's a chapter at all.

  104. Jude verse 6 seems to point to that as well

  105. when it says,

  106. Now, I'll just be honest with you,

  107. that's not easy to take in.

  108. Because Jesus said in Matthew 22, verse 30,

    Matthew 22:30

  109. that the angels in heaven are neither married nor are given in marriage.

  110. And what that means, frankly, is that the focus of heaven is not personal relationships.

  111. That's really what that's pointing to.

  112. Therefore, either this is a reference to mighty kings who God had blessed,

  113. who in the midst of their blessing were filled with pride,

  114. went after worldly women, and faced a disaster.

  115. And that's what I call the Solomon syndrome.

  116. Because that's exactly what happened to Solomon.

  117. Solomon had 700 wives.

  118. 300 concubines, because who can live with just 700 wives?

  119. And those thousand women that were in his house were from around the world.

  120. And they brought their gods in with them.

  121. And he was not only intoxicated with them,

  122. but he was intoxicated with their gods.

  123. And it says in 1 Kings 11, verse 4,

    1 Kings 11:4

  124. that he turned away his heart after other gods,

  125. and his heart was not fully true to his Lord, his God.

  126. And it was because of the influence of all those people in his home.

  127. Now, that sort of thing is a recurring theme throughout history.

  128. Makes a lot of sense.

  129. Or, is this a reference to something that's not common?

  130. Apparently a one-time, supernatural, unmatched event

  131. when angels left their normal spiritual bodies

  132. to assume an abnormal physical form

  133. to cohabitate with human women.

  134. It is interesting when you look into this,

  135. because the book of Enoch is considered a well-respected historical work.

  136. It is a collaboration that was written over a few hundred years

  137. and put together, beginning in about 300 B.C.

  138. Enoch, which we'll talk about in a week or so,

  139. it was attributed to him, but he didn't really write it,

  140. because it was written thousands of years after Enoch lived.

  141. So I want to be clear about something.

  142. The book of Enoch is not inspired by God.

  143. It does contain error.

  144. It is not God-breathed.

  145. It is not authoritative,

  146. but it does really make this conversation interesting,

  147. because it was an often referred-to book when it was written.

  148. And Enoch says this,

  149. And it came to pass,

  150. when the children of men had multiplied,

  151. that in those days were born upon them beautiful and comely daughters.

  152. And the angels, the children of heaven,

  153. saw and lusted after them,

  154. and said to one another,

  155. Come, let us choose us wives from among the children of men,

  156. and beget us children.

  157. They were in all two hundred.

  158. They, like unto themselves wives,

  159. and each chose for himself one,

  160. and they began to go in unto them,

  161. and defile themselves with them,

  162. and they taught them charms and enchantments,

  163. and they became pregnant,

  164. and they bare great giants,

  165. whose heights were three thousand ales,

  166. and there arose much godlessness,

  167. and they committed fornication,

  168. and they were led astray,

  169. and became corrupt in all their ways.

  170. End of quote.

  171. Now, that describes the offspring as being hundreds of feet tall.

  172. That is interesting,

  173. but it is not inspired.

  174. I want to be clear about that.

  175. Have I said that already?

  176. However,

  177. Genesis chapter 6 verse 4 tell us

    Genesis 6:4

  178. that from this was produced the nephalom.

  179. The nephalom,

  180. that's actually a Hebrew participle,

  181. and if you look at the meaning of the word,

  182. the meaning of that word is literally

  183. the ones who have fallen,

  184. or the fallen ones.

  185. To me, that very well could be speaking

  186. of the products of falling angels,

  187. but it also could be talking about the angels

  188. that fell themselves.

  189. Neophalom also spoken of in Numbers chapter 13,

    Numbers 13 chapter mention

  190. when Moses sent the spies out into Canaan

  191. to check it out.

  192. You know the story.

  193. They were in the desert for 40 years,

  194. wandering around,

  195. lost like a bunch of Baptists that can't get along,

  196. and spent way too much time

  197. on a journey that shouldn't have taken,

  198. but not long at all,

  199. and spent that time in the desert,

  200. and in aims of getting to the promised land of Canaan,

  201. and when they got close,

  202. they sent spies over to check out the land,

  203. and when those spies came back,

  204. most of the spies, except for two,

  205. were scared to try to take the land

  206. that God had promised to them,

  207. because as Numbers 13.33 says,

  208. they responded,

  209. when they saw the people,

  210. we seemed to ourselves like grasshoppers,

  211. and so we seemed to them.

  212. Therefore, the Neophalom

  213. is sometimes translated giant,

  214. because of that verse.

  215. So no doubt,

  216. the name shows

  217. that although mighty and well-respected,

  218. they did fall.

  219. They are the fallen ones.

  220. So what does all that mean?

  221. And which is correct?

  222. Well, I'm going to tell you this.

  223. Either way,

  224. it tells us

  225. that demonic power

  226. has too great an influence.

  227. That's what it says.

  228. Now, most say

  229. that the angels

  230. caused this.

  231. I don't believe

  232. we can be dogmatic about that.

  233. I could pick either point

  234. and argue with you about it

  235. if you want to argue,

  236. but I don't care to.

  237. But what is clear,

  238. and is a clear-cut point

  239. in this passage,

  240. and the point of this sermon

  241. is this.

  242. The cause

  243. of their soon-coming disaster

  244. was sin.

  245. That was the problem.

  246. A holy God

  247. was going to cleanse

  248. the earth.

  249. That wipes out

  250. the evil of the world,

  251. but the flood

  252. also changed

  253. the atmosphere.

  254. I believe a lot

  255. of our geological marvels

  256. that we look at

  257. in the world today

  258. are due to the flood.

  259. Personally, I believe

  260. the Grand Canyon

  261. gets its shape and form

  262. from the flood,

  263. and such is that.

  264. Not an authority on that.

  265. Just telling you

  266. my convictions.

  267. In addition to that,

  268. it changed the atmosphere

  269. in which we live.

  270. Humans would not live

  271. near as long

  272. as they had,

  273. and the evidence

  274. of that sin nature

  275. would become

  276. much more pronounced.

  277. Verse 3 says

  278. that we would not live

  279. near as long.

  280. We are weakened by it.

  281. Our lives are shortened by it.

  282. And I'm going to deal

  283. with some genealogies

  284. in the coming days,

  285. so I don't want to get

  286. too much into this,

  287. but the genealogy

  288. in Genesis chapter 11

    Genesis 11 chapter mention

  289. shows lifespans

  290. much shorter

  291. after the flood

  292. than the genealogy

  293. in Genesis chapter 5

    Genesis 5 chapter mention

  294. before the flood.

  295. And with every generation,

  296. it got shorter.

  297. And by Moses' day,

  298. the longest man

  299. could hope to live

  300. would be about

  301. 120 years

  302. versus Methuselah

  303. who lived 969 years

  304. before the flood.

  305. In other words,

  306. God saw

  307. what he had made

  308. and he grieved.

  309. What we see

  310. in verses 5

  311. through 7

  312. is the portrait

  313. of a father

  314. watching his children's

  315. mistakes.

  316. We also see here

  317. the real cause

  318. of disaster on the earth.

  319. And the real cause

  320. of disaster on the earth

  321. is sin.

  322. The real cause

  323. of disaster on the earth

  324. is a sinful society.

  325. And it is an

  326. ever-growing problem.

  327. And so let's look

  328. at that

  329. for just a few minutes

  330. from God's perspective.

  331. And I want you

  332. to notice

  333. what it says.

  334. First,

  335. I want you to notice

  336. what God sees.

  337. It says in verse 5,

  338. the Lord saw

  339. that the wickedness

  340. of man

  341. was great

  342. in the earth

  343. and that every intention

  344. of the thoughts

  345. of his heart

  346. was only evil

  347. continually.

  348. What God saw

  349. was the extensive

  350. and intensive

  351. nature

  352. of his creation's sin.

  353. Not only the depravity

  354. of their actions

  355. but also the state

  356. of their heart.

  357. It was to the core.

  358. And when the Old Testament

  359. refers to the heart,

  360. it's talking about

  361. the will of a man

  362. or a will of a woman.

  363. It's talking about

  364. the understanding.

  365. It's talking about

  366. them being changed,

  367. perverted of sorts.

  368. in the midst

  369. of how they think

  370. and what they do.

  371. In other words,

  372. when sin is there,

  373. it is life-saturating.

  374. And in reality,

  375. humanity has then

  376. ripped the clay

  377. out of the potter's hand

  378. and tried to form it itself.

  379. And God sees all of that.

  380. People were attempting

  381. to be self-made,

  382. self-led.

  383. It is a trait

  384. in the accounts

  385. of Genesis

  386. again and again.

  387. And being self-made

  388. and self-led

  389. is not only a trait

  390. in the accounts

  391. of Genesis,

  392. it's a trait

  393. in the account

  394. of any generation.

  395. You see it again

  396. and again.

  397. And sadly,

  398. the sinful hearts

  399. of humanity

  400. has erupted

  401. into sin

  402. and it's like

  403. a hot lava

  404. coming out

  405. of a volcano

  406. that has erupted

  407. and its impact

  408. is rolling down.

  409. It is influencing

  410. others.

  411. It is seducing

  412. others.

  413. It is condemning

  414. everyone that it touches,

  415. which is everyone.

  416. I wish I could say

  417. that the problems

  418. of Genesis chapter 6

    Genesis 6 chapter mention

  419. with the wickedness

  420. of the world

  421. was taken care of

  422. with the flood,

  423. but the reality is

  424. the same is true today.

  425. You want to know

  426. why our world

  427. is so chaotic?

  428. The sin

  429. and the sinfulness

  430. of the world.

  431. You all draw it

  432. back to that.

  433. When sin

  434. is rampant

  435. in our lives,

  436. God sees it.

  437. And I want you

  438. to notice

  439. the sad contrast

  440. because we just

  441. looked at creation

  442. a few weeks ago

  443. and every day

  444. that God created

  445. something different.

  446. He ended the day

  447. saying,

  448. that's good.

  449. That's good.

  450. Now he looks at it

  451. and in Genesis chapter 6

    Genesis 6:5

  452. verse 5

  453. it says that

  454. he saw the wickedness

  455. of man

  456. was great in the earth

  457. and that every intention

  458. of their thoughts

  459. of his heart

  460. was only evil continually

  461. and the Lord

  462. regretted

  463. making man.

  464. It's clear.

  465. Also I want you

  466. to notice

  467. what he feels.

  468. What God feels

  469. and that's in verse 6.

  470. And the Lord

  471. regretted

  472. that he had made

  473. man on the earth

  474. and it grieved him

  475. to his heart.

  476. We see

  477. in God's response

  478. his anger

  479. is mixed

  480. with anguish

  481. but we also

  482. see his love

  483. for us

  484. because God's

  485. heart

  486. was broken

  487. over our sin

  488. and

  489. that's not

  490. an old thing.

  491. God's heart

  492. is still broken

  493. over our sin.

  494. It is filled

  495. with grief.

  496. It is filled

  497. with affliction.

  498. It is filled

  499. with disappointment

  500. in humankind.

  501. His hand

  502. of judgment

  503. will not be

  504. restrained

  505. even though

  506. he loves

  507. the crown

  508. of his creation

  509. which is us.

  510. But like a truly

  511. loving parent

  512. God loved us

  513. enough to discipline

  514. and as a truly

  515. loving parent

  516. God was heartbroken

  517. over what he

  518. had to be done.

  519. It was to show

  520. his sovereignty

  521. and it was to show

  522. his holiness

  523. of God.

  524. And that word

  525. grieve there

  526. literally means

  527. that he repented.

  528. Now when we

  529. repent and when

  530. God repents

  531. that's something

  532. different.

  533. But the true

  534. meaning of repentance

  535. is to turn

  536. 180 degrees

  537. around.

  538. That's the true

  539. meaning of it.

  540. Repentance means

  541. to walk in one

  542. way and then

  543. decide one day

  544. to change

  545. and turn around

  546. and walk 180

  547. degrees the other

  548. way.

  549. Not 360 degrees

  550. because if you do

  551. you'll keep going

  552. in the same direction.

  553. But 180

  554. degrees and to

  555. change and God

  556. changed here

  557. radically.

  558. The heart that

  559. looked at his

  560. creation and said

  561. good now changed

  562. his action because

  563. God is too holy

  564. to let it go.

  565. That's what God

  566. feels.

  567. I also want you

  568. to notice what God

  569. says.

  570. It says in

  571. verse 7

  572. Genesis chapter 6

    Genesis 6:7

  573. verse 7

  574. so the Lord

  575. said I will

  576. blot out man

  577. whom I've created

  578. from the face

  579. of the land

  580. man and animals

  581. and creeping

  582. things and birds

  583. of the heavens

  584. for I am sorry

  585. that I made

  586. them.

  587. God works

  588. through life

  589. even through

  590. nature to take

  591. care of the

  592. source of the

  593. problem.

  594. and as our

  595. sin not only

  596. affects ourselves

  597. and if you

  598. think your sin

  599. only affects

  600. yourself you're

  601. wrong.

  602. Their sin not

  603. only affected

  604. themselves but

  605. God's judgment

  606. upon them

  607. affected more

  608. than just them.

  609. And God's judgment

  610. upon your life

  611. will affect more

  612. than just you.

  613. So how can

  614. God do it?

  615. How can he

  616. take the

  617. creation that he

  618. made and flood

  619. it and destroy

  620. so many lives?

  621. Well I want you

  622. to think about it

  623. like a house

  624. fire.

  625. When a house

  626. is on fire

  627. only water

  628. can put that

  629. fire out.

  630. And that fire

  631. has to be put

  632. out regardless

  633. of what that

  634. water may do

  635. to that house.

  636. They continue

  637. to pump water

  638. into that house.

  639. And if it's

  640. your house it

  641. looks like they

  642. continue to pump

  643. water well beyond

  644. what they need

  645. to.

  646. But the reality

  647. is they want to

  648. put out every

  649. ember, every

  650. possibility of

  651. that fire coming

  652. back and starting

  653. again and being

  654. stronger.

  655. Like a mighty

  656. water hose

  657. God's discipline

  658. comes quenching

  659. the sin but also

  660. leaving his own

  661. mark.

  662. He will rebuild

  663. what has been

  664. destroyed.

  665. As a matter of

  666. fact 1 Peter

    1 Peter 3:21

  667. chapter 3 verse

  668. 21 speaks of the

  669. flood as if it

  670. was like a

  671. baptism.

  672. Symbolically

  673. removing the

  674. evil and cleansing

  675. the earth.

  676. The flood was the

  677. way that the Lord

  678. cleansed the earth

  679. from the continual

  680. degradation of sin.

  681. It was a temporary

  682. fix.

  683. It was something

  684. that he would never

  685. do again.

  686. Peter uses

  687. baptism as an

  688. illustration of the

  689. cleansing of the

  690. flood.

  691. And baptism is

  692. normally used as an

  693. illustration of the

  694. cleansing that comes

  695. to the cross of

  696. Christ.

  697. And do you know

  698. why Christ went to

  699. the cross?

  700. He goes to the

  701. cross because of

  702. what he sees.

  703. He sees a lost

  704. humanity that has no

  705. hope outside of him.

  706. He goes to the

  707. cross for what he

  708. feels.

  709. And thank God he

  710. feels grace for the

  711. repentant.

  712. He's willing to

  713. extend grace to us.

  714. He goes to the cross

  715. for what he says.

  716. And Romans 10

  717. 13 says for

  718. everyone who calls

  719. upon the name of

  720. the Lord will be

  721. saved.

  722. No matter how

  723. wicked.

  724. No matter how

  725. sinful.

  726. No matter how

  727. dirty we are.

  728. God can

  729. cleanse us.

  730. And it is the

  731. heart of God

  732. to do what it

  733. takes

  734. to cleanse us

  735. if we'll just

  736. turn to him

  737. and surrender our

  738. lives to him.

  739. King David was

  740. caught in his

  741. sin.

  742. The sin became

  743. much greater than

  744. he intended.

  745. The ripple

  746. effects became

  747. much more than

  748. what he first

  749. thought when he

  750. first entertained

  751. the notion of

  752. sin.

  753. That usually

  754. happens.

  755. God

  756. and in

  757. Psalm 51

  758. after he's

  759. been approached

  760. with his

  761. sin

  762. he approaches

  763. God

  764. and asks for

  765. forgiveness

  766. and he says

  767. this

  768. have mercy on

  769. me oh God

  770. according to

  771. your steadfast

  772. love according

  773. to your abundant

  774. mercy blot out

  775. my transgressions

  776. wash me thoroughly

  777. from my iniquity

  778. and cleanse me

  779. from my sin.

  780. I am thankful

  781. that the same

  782. God that

  783. destroyed the

  784. earth as we

  785. knew it

  786. with a flood

  787. to remove sin

  788. is the same

  789. God that

  790. sent his son

  791. Jesus to the

  792. cross to die

  793. for us

  794. to shed his

  795. blood

  796. to remove sin

  797. from all of

  798. those who

  799. would repent

  800. and come to

  801. Christ.

  802. I'm thankful

  803. today

  804. that no matter

  805. who you are

  806. no matter where

  807. you come from

  808. or what you've

  809. done

  810. that the Lord

  811. Jesus Christ

  812. will receive you

  813. under himself

  814. if you'll just

  815. surrender your

  816. life to follow

  817. him.

  818. He hates

  819. sin

  820. it's destructive

  821. and God in

  822. his response

  823. will do what it

  824. takes to remove

  825. it.

  826. It's such a big

  827. deal to him

  828. that he brought

  829. the flood

  830. thousands of

  831. years ago

  832. and 2,000 years

  833. ago he allowed

  834. his son to die

  835. in our place

  836. so that our

  837. sins could be

  838. forgiven

  839. and it's because

  840. of that

  841. that I can

  842. stand here

  843. today

  844. in the midst

  845. of the sinful

  846. society in which

  847. we live

  848. and say

  849. our hope is

  850. only found in

  851. Christ Jesus

  852. and you can

  853. rest in him

  854. and he'll save

  855. your life.

  856. What

  857. can wash

  858. away my

  859. sin

  860. help me

  861. nothing but

  862. the blood

  863. of Jesus

  864. what

  865. can make

  866. me

  867. whole

  868. again

  869. nothing but

  870. the blood

  871. of

  872. Jesus

  873. oh

  874. precious

  875. is the

  876. flow

  877. that

  878. makes me

  879. white

  880. as snow

  881. no

  882. other

  883. fount

  884. I

  885. know

  886. nothing

  887. but

  888. the

  889. blood

  890. of

  891. Jesus

  892. with every

  893. head bowed

  894. and every eye

  895. closed I want

  896. you to know

  897. you can come to

  898. Christ as you

  899. are today

  900. he's not

  901. surprised at the

  902. sinfulness in

  903. your life

  904. he's not amazed

  905. by that

  906. he's seen it

  907. all

  908. and he'll

  909. take you as

  910. you are

  911. if you'll

  912. surrender your

  913. life to him

  914. if there's an

  915. unction in your

  916. being at all to

  917. come to Christ

  918. today I want you

  919. to know you

  920. didn't bring it

  921. about

  922. that's the

  923. Holy Spirit of

  924. God reaching out

  925. to you

  926. impelling you

  927. to come

  928. telling you

  929. to follow him

  930. if you've never

  931. given your heart

  932. and life to the

  933. Lord Jesus

  934. Christ I

  935. encourage you to

  936. come today

  937. surrender your

  938. life to follow

  939. him this

  940. very day

  941. I'll be happy to

  942. guide you in

  943. that process

  944. maybe you're

  945. here and you

  946. have done that

  947. but you've never

  948. acknowledged that

  949. through baptism

  950. baptism is the

  951. physical representation

  952. of what Christ

  953. has done in your

  954. heart

  955. and if you've

  956. never made your

  957. personal salvation

  958. public through

  959. baptism I

  960. encourage you to

  961. come to simply

  962. be obedient to

  963. his commission

  964. and his example

  965. to just simply

  966. follow him

  967. maybe you're here

  968. and God's drawing

  969. you to this church

  970. you know this is

  971. where God would

  972. have you to serve

  973. we'd be happy to

  974. talk to you about

  975. that to welcome

  976. you in as one of

  977. us maybe you're

  978. here and there's

  979. just stuff stuff

  980. you need to deal

  981. with you've been

  982. confronted with

  983. maybe through song

  984. maybe through sermon

  985. maybe through prayer

  986. stuff that you need

  987. to deal with lay

  988. down before the

  989. Lord I encourage

  990. you don't just sing

  991. through this hymn

  992. and go on out the

  993. door you settle

  994. things with God

  995. whether that's where

  996. you are whether it's

  997. at this altar or

  998. whether with a

  999. pastor praying for

  1000. you either way

  1001. you just obey God

  1002. as he speaks to

  1003. your heart and

  1004. life Lord Jesus

  1005. I love you

  1006. I thank you Lord

  1007. that you loved us

  1008. enough to do

  1009. something for us

  1010. that we could

  1011. never imagine

  1012. I thank you Lord

  1013. for Christ

1014. and I ask dear God

  1015. that you'll help us

  1016. each one to respond

  1017. in obedience as you

  1018. speak to our hearts

  1019. and lives right now

  1020. oh God

1021. move and work in our

1022. midst as only you can

  1023. and it's only in

  1024. Jesus name we pray

  1025. amen

  1026. stand

  1027. moment

  1028. by

  1029. you

  1030. you

  1031. remember

  1032. Mariah

  1033. that you
