  1. Verse 19, this is for that which befalleth the sons of men, befalleth beasts, even one

  2. thing befalleth them, as the one dieth, so dieth the other, yea, they have all one breath,

  3. so that a man, that hath no preeminence above a beast, for all is vanity.

  4. All go into one place, all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again.

  5. Who knoweth the spirit of man that goes upward, and the spirit of the beast that

  6. goes downward to the earth? And the time of my sermon this morning is man's

  7. relation to animals, man's relation to animals. Animals play a very significant

  8. role in the Bible. And this morning I want to preach a topical sermon on the

  9. subject of animals, and how we as mankind are to relate to them. Now hold

  10. your place there in Ecclesiastes chapter 3, and go to Genesis chapter 1 if

Ecclesiastes 3 chapter mention Genesis 1 chapter mention

  11. you will. Genesis chapter 1, what does the Bible say about animals? You know

    Genesis 1 chapter mention

  12. we're going to go through a lot of scripture today, so make sure you

  13. have your Bibles open, go to every reference that we talk about today, and

  14. we're going to demonstrate the purpose of animals, their end, the role that they

  15. play in reprobation, and God's judgment as well. Man's relation to animals. The

  16. first point I want to make this morning is that animals are not an

  17. afterthought in the mind of God, believe it or not. Animals are not an

  18. afterthought. In other words, animals are actually very important to God.

  19. They're very important to God, and this is an important point because of the fact

  20. that society today really exalts animals even above human life sometimes, right?

  21. And sometimes people can have this attitude that animals are way more

  22. important than children, than people, than human life, and this can really

  23. cause Christians to despise animals, and despise animal protection, and

  24. despise talking about or having animals, or even the life of an

  25. animal. But that's not a right attitude either because the Bible actually

  26. teaches us that animals are important to God. Look at Genesis chapter 1 if you

    Genesis 1 chapter mention

  27. wouldn't. In verse 20 it says,

  28. And God said,

  29. And God blessed them, and said,

  30. And God said,

  31. And let fowl multiply in the earth,

  32. And the evening and the morning were the fifth day,

  33. And God said,

  34. And God said,

  35. And we see here that God made animals on the fifth and sixth day prior to

  36. creating man, showing us that animals are not an afterthought in the mind of God.

  37. They actually had a priority even in the creation period. Now, this doesn't mean

  38. that they're superior to man, right? Because of the fact that we see

  39. subsequently they're placed under man's dominion thereafter, but it does

  40. show that they do play an essential part in God's original,

  41. sinless creation. Okay? Animals are not a created being that are insignificant to God.

  42. They're actually very much important to him. They were deliberately created in a

  43. sinless fashion in order to beautify the world, to beautify creation, so that

  44. we would honor and glorify God based upon what we're looking at. You look at

  45. the octopus, you look at the platypus, you look at the lion, you look at all

  46. of creation, and it should cause us to be in awe of the creator, the fact

  47. that he made all of these creatures, okay? They were included in this world that

  48. God pronounced to be very good, right? Demonstrating that God esteems the animal kingdom.

  49. Go to Psalms 104, Psalm 104 if you would. Animals are not an afterthought

  50. in the mind of God. They're very much important to God, not just in the

  51. creation period, but even today they're very much important to God, okay?

  52. Now as you turn into Psalm 104, I'm going to read to you from Psalm 50, verse 10,

    Psalms 50:10

  53. it says, for every beast of the forest is mine. Of course, this is God speaking.

  54. The Psalmist is writing on God's behalf and he's saying, and the cattle upon

  55. a thousand hills. Listen to this, I know all the fowls of the mountains and

  56. the wild beasts of the field are mine. So this is showing us that there's

  57. not a single creature on this planet, there's not a single animal, a single

  58. insect, not a single ant. Think about that that God doesn't know about.

  59. He keeps track of every single creature that exists in this world.

  60. Let me read to you from Matthew chapter 10, verse 29. Listen to this, it says,

    Matthew 10:29

  61. are not two sparrows sold for a farthing and one of them shall not

  62. fall to the ground without your father. This is showing us that even when

  63. birds fall to the ground and die, when an animal dies, it doesn't matter

  64. how small and insignificant they may mean to us. God knows of that death.

  65. God knows of that animal falling to the ground. He keeps track of all the

  66. creatures of the world. He knows every single bird that hatches,

  67. every single reptile, every single ant, every single insect that exists.

  68. God knows about it. In other words, he essentially keeps a catalogue

  69. of all of these creatures showing us that animals are very much

  70. important to God, right? Not only that, but we also see that he takes care

  71. of all these creatures as well. Look at Psalm 104 in verse number 10,

  72. if you wouldn't. Verse 10 of Psalm 104 says,

  73. he sendeth the springs into the valleys which run among the hills.

  74. They give drink to every beast of the field, the wild asses quench

  75. their thirst. By them shall the fowls of the heaven have their

  76. habitation which sing among the branches. He watereth the hills

  77. from his chambers. The earth is satisfied with the fruit of thy works.

  78. He causeth the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service

  79. of man, that he may bring forth food out of the earth.

  80. And wine that maketh glad the heart of man, oil to make his face

  81. to shine, and bread which strengtheneth man's heart.

  82. The trees of the Lord are full of sap, the cedars of Lebanon

  83. which he hath planted, where the birds make their nests,

  84. as for the storks, the fir trees are her house,

  85. the high hills are a refuge for wild goats,

  86. and the rocks for the conies.

  87. Showing us that God not only esteems animals,

  88. he takes it upon himself to take care of them every single day.

  89. All of the ecosystems of this world are set forth by God

  90. in order to take care of these creatures.

  91. Go to Deuteronomy 22, if you would.

  92. Deuteronomy 22, we're going to be all over the place

  93. in the Bible today, so make sure you have a piece of paper

  94. or a pen handy to mark some areas.

  95. Deuteronomy 22, I'm going to keep reading in Psalm 147,

    Psalms 147:9

  96. verse 9 says, he giveth the beast his food

  97. and to the young ravens which cry.

  98. So when the ravens and the birds are crying out for food,

  99. who feeds them?

  100. God is the one who's feeding them.

  101. God is the one who sets forth the systems in place

  102. in order to take care of all of these creatures.

  103. Matthew chapter 6 and verse 26, you're in Deuteronomy 22,

    Matthew 6 chapter mention

  104. Matthew 626 says, behold, the fowls of the air,

  105. for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns.

  106. Yet your heavenly Father, listen to this, feedeth them.

  107. Are ye not much better than they?

  108. Now, this also demonstrates that in my opinion,

  109. mankind should avoid involving themselves

  110. in the preservation of animals,

  111. making sure they don't go extinct or something like that.

  112. It's just like, oh, save the whales or whatever.

  113. Save this particular bird or whatever.

  114. But you know what?

  115. If it's God's will for that bird to go extinct,

  116. then so be it.

  117. We shouldn't worry that a certain animal's going to go extinct

  118. or we're going to miss out on having these types of creatures

  119. or whatever.

  120. If God wanted to preserve that animal, he would.

  121. The only time we should really concern ourselves

  122. whether an animal goes extinct or not

  123. is if it affects our well-being.

  124. If it affects our food source,

  125. our well-being because of the fact that God prioritizes humanity

  126. over the animal kingdom.

  127. Yeah, they're important to him.

  128. Yes, he feeds them, but we are superior to these animals

  129. and God takes care of them in order to take care of us.

  130. Now, look at Deuteronomy 22, verse 6.

    Deuteronomy 22:6

  131. It says here,

  132. If a bird's nest chance to be before thee

  133. in the way in any tree or on the ground,

  134. whether they be young ones or eggs

  135. and the dam sitting upon the young

  136. or upon the eggs, thou shalt not take the dam with the young,

  137. but thou shalt in any wise let the dam go

  138. and take the young to thee that it may be well with thee

  139. and that thou mayest prolong thy days.

  140. In other words, don't mess with the birds,

  141. don't mess with the ecosystem

  142. so that it can continue to produce more eggs,

  143. more birds for us.

  144. He said, for thee to prolong thy days.

  145. For your protein, for your food, right?

  146. For your well-being, this is why the creation

  147. and the animals are set in place.

  148. Go to Romans chapter 8, if you would.

    Romans 8 chapter mention

  149. Romans chapter number 8.

  150. And so, you know, don't waste your time

  151. worrying about the extinction of this animal.

  152. Who cares about the dodo bird?

  153. Who cares?

  154. You know, obviously, I care a little bit about the Saber II Tiger

  155. that went extinct a while back

  156. because I wanted to see it in real life.

  157. But you know what? Who cares?

  158. Who cares if the T-Rex went extinct,

  159. went extinct, the Velociraptor?

  160. Who cares if there's an animal going extinct?

  161. Now, if God wanted to preserve that animal, he would.

  162. What about the condor?

  163. We should save the condor.

  164. I don't eat condor so it can go extinct.

  165. Don't really bother me.

  166. If God wants to do away with the condor,

  167. then so be it.

  168. That's his agenda.

  169. That's what he wants.

  170. If he wanted to preserve that animal, he would.

  171. You're in Romans chapter 8.

    Romans 8 chapter mention

  172. The fact is that God esteems animals to the point

  173. that we see here that they get provided

  174. for by God.

  175. God takes care of them.

  176. He creates an ecosystem that's conducive to their health,

  177. to their food, but at the end of the day,

  178. it's for our well-being.

  179. Let me also say this.

  180. God does esteem animals not only to the point

  181. that he feeds them, but he also allows them,

  182. listen to this, to participate in the regeneration,

  183. referring to the resurrection,

  184. referring to the millennial reign of Jesus Christ,

  185. referring to the new heaven and the new earth,

  186. believe it or not.

  187. Now look at Romans chapter 8, if you would.

    Romans 8 chapter mention

  188. You're like, what?

  189. Is that true?

  190. Do all dogs go to heaven?

  191. Is that really true?

  192. Because everyone wants to believe that their little dog

  193. or little cat that passed away is going to be in heaven.

  194. Well, I hate to break it to you, but no,

  195. that's not going to happen.

  196. Your animal, just silence now.

  197. Your animal does not go to heaven when it dies.

  198. It does not have a spirit that can be redeemed.

  199. Just as we have spirits that can be redeemed by salvation.

  200. But here's the thing though, is that there are animals in heaven.

  201. It's not because they got there through salvation.

  202. It's because of the fact that in heaven,

  203. you have these creatures known as cherubim,

  204. which we would classify as being what?

  205. An angel.

  206. And these angels, which are called cherubim,

  207. they're basically these anthropomorphic creatures

  208. that have four faces of an animal.

  209. It has one face of a lion, another face of an eagle,

  210. another face of an ox.

  211. And then it does have the face of a man,

  212. but it doesn't mean that that is an actual man

  213. because there's a lot of creatures that God creates

  214. that have humanly features.

  215. Think of monkeys and chimpanzees and apes.

  216. There's even fish out there that have human features.

  217. There's a blobfish.

  218. If you look up blobfish, you're like,

  219. this looks like a miserable person.

  220. I'm not kidding you, it looks like an actual miserable person.

  221. And it has these features.

  222. It doesn't mean it's a human, it's a fish,

  223. but it's just created by the same person.

  224. So in heaven, you have these creatures.

  225. They're called beasts, and so they can be classified as animals.

  226. They're just simply a celestial beast

  227. known as cherubim that we would classify as angels.

  228. Now look at verse 19.

  229. So let's talk about the fact that animals will be in the millennial reign.

  230. They will benefit from the resurrection.

  231. Look at verse 19.

  232. It says,

  233. What does that mean?

  234. It means that all of creation,

  235. dogs, lions, monkeys, all types of creatures,

  236. they're all anticipating the resurrection.

  237. When it says the manifestation of the sons of God,

  238. that's referring to the resurrection.

  239. That's when the sons of God,

  240. which are those who believe on Jesus Christ,

  241. are fully redeemed, right?

  242. And they are anticipating that moment.

  243. Why?

  244. Look what it says in verse 20.

  245. So in other words, creatures live and die.

  246. They eat each other.

  247. Super violent, right?

  248. And it says here that they are subject to vanity,

  249. meaning that like, you know, animals,

  250. they don't really have any significant eternal purpose.

  251. They did in the Garden of Eden, right?

  252. But they don't really serve any eternal significance right now.

  253. So they just have a vain life.

  254. You and I, we have purpose, right?

  255. We have a purpose.

  256. The Bible tells us,

  257. For we are as workmanship created in Christ Jesus,

  258. unto good works which God has before ordained

  259. that we should walk in them.

  260. God has a purpose for us to be conformed

  261. to the image of Jesus Christ.

  262. Animals do not.

  263. They are subject to vanity after the fall, okay?

  264. He says they're subject to vanity,

  265. not willingly.

  266. In other words, they didn't choose that.

  267. They're subject to that because of Adam's transgression.

  268. Verse 21 says,

  269. Because the creature itself also shall be delivered

  270. from the bondage of corruption

  271. into the glorious liberty of the children of God.

  272. So that's showing us that in the millennial reign,

  273. in the new heaven and new earth,

  274. there will be everlasting animals as well.

  275. Creatures will not die in the new heaven,

  276. in the new earth.

  277. And so, you know, that's one part

  278. that the Jehovah's Witness got right

  279. on their little pictures.

  280. You know, they always have these pictures

  281. where people are like walking in a forest

  282. with all types of animals

  283. and they're hugging, you know, the bears or whatever.

  284. That's true.

  285. They're not going to see that,

  286. but it is a real thing, though.

  287. And so, good job on the illustration there.

  288. But it says here that they will be delivered

  289. from the bondage of corruption,

  290. meaning that they're not going to die anymore.

  291. They will live.

  292. They will benefit from the liberty

  293. of the children of God, okay?

  294. The residual blessings of the resurrection

  295. even affects all of creation and animals as well.

  296. Look at verse 22.

  297. For we know that the whole creation

  298. groaneth and travaileth in pain together

  299. until now.

  300. It's basically stating that all of creation,

  301. the animal kingdom, they are groaning.

  302. They're almost just awaiting.

  303. They're anticipating.

  304. They're in pain.

  305. They're complaining.

  306. Why?

  307. Because they just live and die,

  308. live and die with absolutely no purpose behind it.

  309. It says in verse 23,

  310. and not only they, but we ourselves also,

  311. which have the first fruits of the Spirit,

  312. even we ourselves groan within ourselves

  313. waiting for the adoption to with the redemption of our body.

  314. So obviously the purpose of the text here

  315. is to demonstrate that we groan within ourselves as well,

  316. meaning that, you know,

  317. oh wretched man that I am,

  318. who shall deliver me from this body of death?

  319. You know, we struggle with sin.

  320. We are tempted to sin.

  321. We have this corruptible flesh that is constantly

  322. just fighting against us.

  323. We got to walk in the Spirit, intentionally live for God.

  324. And so I was just like, man, I hate my flesh.

  325. I hate the fact that I'm tempted.

  326. We groan within ourselves.

  327. And God is trying to communicate here

  328. that to a lesser extent,

  329. the animal kingdom does the same thing.

  330. Because they're subject to vanity,

  331. not willingly, but because of Adam, right?

  332. Just as we kind of complain

  333. over the fact that we live and die,

  334. we're tempted in like manner the animal kingdom does the same.

  335. So, you know, your dog does not go to heaven.

  336. He will not meet you there in heaven.

  337. I'm sorry to break that to you.

  338. But, you know, there are creatures in heaven

  339. and animals in general will inherit the kingdom of God.

  340. Okay, there will be animals in the millennial reign.

  341. Now, go back to Genesis chapter one again.

  342. Genesis chapter one.

  343. Let me read you from Isaiah chapter 11

    Isaiah 11 chapter mention

  344. in verse number six.

  345. This is a picture of the millennial reign.

  346. Some can say it's also possibly talking

  347. about the new heaven and the new earth.

  348. But it says in Isaiah chapter 11 verse six,

    Isaiah 11 chapter mention

  349. the wolf also shall dwell with the lamb

  350. and the leopard shall lie down with the kid

  351. and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together

  352. and the little child shall lead them.

  353. So this is showing us that there is going to come a time

  354. where the spiritual atmosphere is completely transfigured

  355. to the point where a wolf that would typically consume a lamb

  356. will actually dwell together.

  357. They'll be friends again, okay?

  358. You know, the fox and the hound, right?

  359. You know, the leopard shall lie down with the kid,

  360. the calf and the young lion

  361. and to just add to the extreme, you know, transformation here.

  362. It says that a little child will lead them.

  363. You'll play follow the leader with the wolf and the lamb,

  364. the leopard and so forth, the lion.

  365. It goes on to say in verse seven,

  366. and the cow and the bear shall feed.

  367. Their young ones shall lie down together

  368. and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.

  369. So obviously the biology has also changed

  370. within that millennial reign and the new heaven and new earth

  371. among the animal kingdom to the point where the Bible says

  372. that the lion who once previously ate, you know,

  373. meat and killed and drank blood

  374. and all that is now eating straw like an ox.

  375. It says the sucking child shall play on the whole of the asp

  376. and the wean child shall put his hand in the cockatrice's den.

  377. In other words, you know, this is going to be

  378. such an extraordinary transformation

  379. that babies can stick their hands

  380. inside of a hole of a rattlesnake,

  381. of a cobra, a den of some sort of venomous viper

  382. and it's not going to bite them.

  383. It poses no threat, no harm.

  384. This is the transfiguration that's going to take place.

  385. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain.

  386. For the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord

  387. as the waters cover the sea.

  388. What is the same?

  389. It's showing us that though we get to benefit from

  390. the millennial reign, the new heaven and new earth,

  391. guess what the animal kingdom does as well, okay?

  392. Now a lot of times people ask me,

  393. so do you think a T-rex will be there?

  394. Are we going to be able to see the pterodactyl?

  395. Are we going to see?

  396. I don't know, I hope so, you know,

  397. but the text doesn't really explicitly say it,

  398. and so maybe animals who have already gone extinct

  399. are just extinct forever.

  400. We don't know, okay?

  401. But something can change, I don't know.

  402. So the point that I'm making here is that

  403. animals are not an afterthought in the mind of God.

  404. They actually have some importance in the eyes of God, okay?

  405. Point number two is that animals,

  406. and I mentioned this a little bit in the first point,

  407. animals are inferior to mankind

  408. and should be dominated by man, okay?

  409. They are inferior.

  410. It doesn't mean they're not important,

  411. but they're not as important as us.

  412. So stop calling your animal, your little pet,

  413. more important, stop calling them a child, okay?

  414. It's not right, it's not biblical,

  415. it's nonsense, it's foolish

  416. because animals are animals,

  417. and in God's eyes they are inferior to man, okay?

  418. Never put an animal on the same pedestal

  419. as a human being, especially a child.

  420. So the Bible tells us that it teaches us

  421. that animals are inferior to mankind

  422. and should be dominated by mankind as well.

  423. Look at Genesis 1 again in verse 26.

  424. It says in God said,

  425. let us make man in our image after our likeness

  426. and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea,

  427. over the fowl of the air,

  428. over the cattle and over all the earth

  429. and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

  430. So God created man in his own image,

  431. in the image of God created he him,

  432. male and female created he them, verse 28,

  433. and God blessed him and said unto them,

  434. be fruitful and multiply and replenish the earth.

  435. Listen to this, and subdue it, okay?

  436. And have dominion over the fish of the sea

  437. and over the fowl of the air

  438. and over every living thing that moveeth upon the earth.

  439. Go to Genesis chapter 9, Genesis chapter 9.

Genesis 9 chapter mention Genesis 9 chapter mention

  440. So we see explicitly in the very first chapter of the Bible,

  441. God says, he creates man, he says,

  442. you are the ruler of this world, okay?

  443. Over the creation you're supposed to dominate

  444. the birds, the fish, the beast of the field,

  445. everything that creepeth,

  446. you are at the top of the food chain, okay?

  447. You are essentially the one who dominates the entire world

  448. and that's how it should operate, okay?

  449. Now obviously this doesn't mean that creatures are,

  450. you know, some creatures in this world are, you know,

  451. they were stronger than them or something like that,

  452. but obviously we have the spirit of God

  453. and we have a mind that is able to subdue animals, okay?

  454. We have a mind that's able to hunt animals

  455. and subdue them and use them for our benefit and so forth.

  456. Look at Genesis chapter 9 and verse number 2,

    Genesis 9 chapter mention

  457. it says, the fear of you and the dread of you

  458. shall be upon every beast of the earth

  459. and upon every fowl of the air,

  460. upon all that moveeth upon the earth

  461. and upon all the fishes of the sea

  462. into your hand are they delivered.

  463. So when it says that the fear of you

  464. and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth,

  465. this doesn't mean that all creatures will fear you

  466. to the point where they will flee from you, okay?

  467. This basically means that creatures will view you as a threat.

  468. Because they're afraid of you, they will view you as a threat, okay?

  469. You know, this is why, for example,

  470. sometimes people will go hiking, especially now,

  471. a lot of this is going on,

  472. and they will accidentally step on a rattlesnake

  473. and a rattlesnake will strike them, right?

  474. Or they'll just, you know, walk near a bush

  475. and a rattlesnake will come out and strike them

  476. because they either view them as a threat

  477. or they view them as food.

  478. So this should not be used as a text to say,

  479. oh man, animals are just afraid of us, period,

  480. and therefore we can play these psychological games with them

  481. or whatnot.

  482. Obviously this is simply referring to the fact

  483. that there's a major distinction between us

  484. and we can't necessarily abide together in harmony, okay?

  485. They view us as a threat, they are afraid of us

  486. and they will strike, of course, and attack if need be.

  487. Go to Exodus chapter 21, Exodus chapter 21.

Exodus 21 chapter mention Exodus 21 chapter mention

  488. Psalm chapter 8 and verse 6 says this,

    Psalms 8 chapter mention

  489. as you're turning to Exodus 21,

  490. thou madeest him, referring to mankind,

  491. to have dominion over the works of thy hands.

  492. Thou hast put all things under his feet,

  493. all sheep and oxen yea the beasts of the field,

  494. the fowl of the air, the fish of the sea,

  495. and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas, okay?

  496. And we started off in Ecclesiastes chapter 3

    Ecclesiastes 3 chapter mention

  497. talking about the fact that, you know,

  498. the Bible tells us that the spirit of man

  499. goeth upward and the spirit of the beast

  500. goeth downward to the earth.

  501. What does that mean?

  502. It's referring to the fact that the breath,

  503. the spirit, man is made with the spirit

  504. but it's a living spirit that can be redeemed

  505. and it can go to heaven.

  506. Whereas animals, once they die,

  507. they just stay in the earth.

  508. They go back to the dirt.

  509. That's their end.

  510. They don't have a spirit or a soul

  511. the way we would communicate to be

  512. an actual spirit or soul that is able to worship God

  513. and desire salvation and so forth, okay?

  514. So animals are inferior to us

  515. and we're to dominate them according to the Bible.

  516. Now this means a few things, okay?

  517. Number one is that the life of an animal

  518. should never be prioritized over the life of a human, okay?

  519. So that means if some dumb idiot

  520. climbs over the fence into some lion's den, okay?

  521. And you know, his life is in danger

  522. and people kill the lion,

  523. no one should mourn over the death of the lion.

  524. Now I'll be it, the guy's an idiot for climbing over

  525. but it's still, he's still more important than the lion.

  526. But they're endangered.

  527. Yeah, we're about to make them more endangered, okay?

  528. Because the life of a human

  529. is far more important than the life of a lion.

  530. Now obviously, you know, people have done this

  531. throughout the years where they,

  532. a child falls over or something like that.

  533. You know, people are still mourning,

  534. what's that stupid ape's name?

  535. Maranbe, right?

  536. Oh, Haranbe, whatever, you know?

  537. It's an ape.

  538. I'll call him Maranbe, okay, just to spite him.

  539. You know?

  540. Oh man, I can't believe that.

  541. And you know what, you'd be surprised,

  542. you go on the comment section of these videos

  543. and how much people are like condemning

  544. the fact that he died

  545. and they wish the person who shot them

  546. would have died instead

  547. and they prefer the life of the beast

  548. over the life of the animal,

  549. excuse me, over the life of the human being

  550. and that's godless, okay?

  551. Humans have a priority over the animals

  552. and they should never be prioritized

  553. as being, you know, oh, they're far more important,

  554. you know, you're the one who caged them,

  555. a free willy or whatever,

  556. and you know, SeaWorld,

  557. and look folks,

  558. SeaWorld is a godless organization

  559. that wants to make money

  560. and look, if you've seen Blackfish,

  561. you know what I'm talking about, okay?

  562. You know, they capture these killer whales,

  563. okay?

  564. Which I think is the right thing to do,

  565. it's okay to do that.

  566. According to the Bible,

  567. you can capture animals

  568. and use them for your entertainment and amusement,

  569. yes, we're going to get into that just a bit.

  570. And I could see people getting all mad

  571. as though I don't think that's right, you know?

  572. That's because you don't really have

  573. the biblical perspective here

  574. that humans are more important

  575. and God literally made a zoo for Adam, okay?

  576. You're just like, name him what you want, you know?

  577. It's just like Maranbe, it sounds good.

  578. You know, who cares, right?

  579. But you know, you have Blackfish

  580. that capture these animals for entertainment,

  581. but here's where they went wrong,

  582. is they allowed people to get in the water

  583. with these killer whales.

  584. You know, they're called killer whales, okay?

  585. And so they're getting in the water

  586. with these killer whales

  587. and these animals are literally killing a ton of people.

  588. I mean, as far as I know,

  589. what's the...

  590. Tilikum was the name of the major culprit.

  591. He killed like five people, including one of the trainers.

  592. He mutilated its trainer.

  593. And I'm talking about like mutilated and paraded.

  594. A homeless man, like prior to that,

  595. had climbed into SeaWorld that night

  596. and went into the water

  597. and Tilikum like mutilated him

  598. and paraded him on his back, okay?

  599. I mean, talk about a killer, a murderer, a murderer as well, right?

  600. But what do you expect, okay?

  601. It's a massive creature

  602. and you know, just enjoy it through the other side of the glass.

  603. You don't got to get in there with him, okay?

  604. You know, I'm all for enjoying animals and such,

  605. but you know, I'm not for sticking my hand

  606. inside an alligator's mouth

  607. to show you how fast it can snap down

  608. before I can take away my hand or something like that.

  609. Now, I'll gladly enjoy people who make those videos though.

  610. Right?

  611. The Yoink guy on Instagram.

  612. I love watching his stuff, right?

  613. You know, I'm in the Florida Everglades

  614. and he's like yoinking alligators

  615. and yoinking, you know, rattlesnakes or whatever,

  616. cotton mouths and he's just grabbing poison, venomous things.

  617. I mean, I'm all for watching,

  618. but everyone says in the comment section,

  619. like one day we're going to stop seeing videos

  620. and we're going to know why.

  621. It's true because it's just, you know,

  622. it's not safe to do, right?

  623. But you know, when Tilikum,

  624. this great whale, this killer whale,

  625. he killed its trainer.

  626. You know, this is what should have happened.

  627. It should have been put down.

  628. It should have been put down long ago

  629. when it killed the first person.

  630. But you know, after that,

  631. but this is what the people say,

  632. they're like that whale is worth a lot of money

  633. that trainer had to go.

  634. You know?

  635. And obviously now, you know,

  636. they had some new things or whatever,

  637. where they're not allowing people to get in the water

  638. or whatever, that's a smart move.

  639. But here's the thing,

  640. is according to the biblical standard,

  641. any animal that injures a person,

  642. bites a person, gores a person,

  643. causes any bodily injury to a person,

  644. needs to be killed.

  645. Look at Exodus 21, verse 28.

    Exodus 21:28

  646. If an ox gore a man or a woman that they die,

  647. then the ox shall be surely stoned

  648. and its flesh shall not be eaten,

  649. but the owner of the ox shall be quiet,

  650. the Bible says.

  651. But if the ox were want to push

  652. with its horns in times past,

  653. then it has been testified to its owner

  654. and he has not kept a man,

  655. but that he had killed a man or a woman,

  656. the ox shall be stoned

  657. and his owner also shall be put to death.

  658. The Bible is saying here,

  659. if your pit bull has attacked someone,

  660. has bitten the child,

  661. that dog should be put down.

  662. Now, if the pit bull has attacked someone

  663. and then you find out its history,

  664. that it's accustomed to attacking people,

  665. it's bitten other people in times past,

  666. the biblical standard is not only that

  667. the animal should be put to death,

  668. the owner is also put to death.

  669. That's what the Bible teaches.

  670. You say, oh, it says ox.

  671. Well, you can apply this all across the board.

  672. You can apply this to a cat if you want.

  673. You can apply this to any animal.

  674. Any animal that causes any type of injury,

  675. what is it showing us?

  676. It's showing us that God prioritizes

  677. the life of a human over the animal.

  678. Put down the pit bull.

  679. Put down the rottweiler.

  680. Put down the chihuahua.

  681. Now, I'm just kidding.

  682. I don't know how much bodily harm

  683. a chihuahua can cause.

  684. Little ankle biters.

  685. But put down the animal

  686. that actually harms another human being.

  687. They're like, well, it grew up with us.

  688. It's like our family.

  689. Yeah, but according to biblical standards,

  690. the Bible teaches that

  691. things should be put to death.

  692. And if you don't, in God's eyes,

  693. you should be put to death

  694. if that thing attacks another person again.

  695. And look, this is why I can't understand

  696. when owners of dogs,

  697. let me just vent real quick.

  698. You want to have a dog?

  699. More power to you.

  700. Keep that thing on a leash.

  701. When you're out in public,

  702. keep that thing on a leash.

  703. One of the things that just boils my blood

  704. is when we're at a park

  705. that's made for children.

  706. There's like a playground.

  707. And then they just let their dog

  708. run without a leash.

  709. And it's just like,

  710. you know, oh, no, it's friendly.

  711. Don't worry, it's never been in the soul.

  712. Yeah, but it might see the color purple

  713. on my kid's shirt and just flip

  714. and then just go bite him or something.

  715. You know, a couple months ago,

  716. maybe it was like a year ago or something,

  717. my wife had taken my kids to a particular park.

  718. I think it was in Corona.

  719. Is that right?

  720. It was in Corona.

  721. And my wife was in the van

  722. and I don't know who else was in the van,

  723. but like four of my kids

  724. were out playing on the playground.

  725. And this person comes

  726. with pit bulls off the leash

  727. just running in the playground, right?

  728. And so it spots my kids

  729. and it just starts charging after my kids, you know?

  730. And Quicksilver over here, as I is,

  731. you know, everyone just books it,

  732. you know, right?

  733. They all start, obviously they say

  734. you shouldn't run,

  735. but what do you expect the kids to do, though?

  736. I say that you shouldn't run.

  737. I'll probably run if a pit bull came out.

  738. I mean, you know, it's just a natural thing.

  739. But, you know, they start running

  740. and Helen was the only one who literally

  741. just stood her ground and just stood there

  742. and just like looked at it.

  743. But once Isaias ran, like it ran after them

  744. and Isaias ran so fast towards the van

  745. that he like dove through the window.

  746. He was like...

  747. He just dove through the window, you know?

  748. And he was screaming.

  749. I mean, he's like...

  750. You know?

  751. And the dog didn't end up doing anything.

  752. He's probably tripping out like,

  753. damn, that kid can jump, you know?

  754. I've never seen that.

  755. But, you know, the owner comes or whatever

  756. and grabs the dogs or whatnot

  757. and is just like, have some common sense.

  758. You know, if you're going to have an animal,

  759. be responsible, keep that thing on a leash.

  760. Oh, it's never bitten anybody.

  761. So do you want to try,

  762. do you want to like change that?

  763. You know, because it could potentially change

  764. now that you have them off of a leash

  765. and it sees someone and it bites them.

  766. That happens all the time.

  767. Just look up stories about pit bulls

  768. killing children.

  769. It happens a lot, okay?

  770. And we as Christians need to recognize,

  771. go to Matthew chapter 10,

    Matthew 10 chapter mention

  772. if you would, in Matthew chapter 10,

    Matthew 10 chapter mention

  773. need to recognize that animals

  774. should not be prioritized over humans.

  775. If they injure a child, a human,

  776. they should be put to death, okay?

  777. You know, I remember when we were living

  778. in Huntington Beach, one of our neighbors

  779. had one of those small dogs,

  780. not a Chihuahua, but like a little bigger

  781. than a Chihuahua.

  782. It's one of those annoying, expensive dogs, okay?

  783. You know?

  784. And my wife was walking with my kids

  785. and they see the neighbor

  786. and they had this dog

  787. and you know, if you have a dog

  788. like that, just don't tell me.

  789. But you know, the dog was right there

  790. and the dog just bit my wife's ankle

  791. and my wife was pregnant at the time, okay?

  792. Which actually can cause a lot of problems

  793. for the pregnancy if that happens.

  794. And then the owner's like,

  795. did my dog just bite you?

  796. And my wife was like, yeah,

  797. he's like, okay, I gotta go now

  798. and she just takes the dog,

  799. she just walks away.

  800. You know, no sorry, no no.

  801. It's just like, sometimes dog owners

  802. are just loony, okay?

  803. Don't be a loony dog owner, okay?

  804. The point being here is that

  805. animals should be put to death

  806. if they attack people, okay?

  807. Tillicum should have died a long time ago.

  808. Harambe, you know,

  809. if it poses a threat to a person,

  810. you know, good that it died.

  811. Just go get another ape.

  812. It's not hard, bro.

  813. Just a ton of them all over the world.

  814. Just go get it.

  815. Name a Harambe.

  816. It's not not hard at all, okay?

  817. You know, what's Tillicum's stage name?

  818. Shamu.

  819. You know, just kill Tillicum,

  820. get another whale, call it Shamu.

  821. No one's gonna know the difference, okay?

  822. It's real simple.

  823. You're in Matthew chapter 10.

    Matthew 10 chapter mention

  824. I'm gonna read you from

  825. Matthew chapter 8.

    Matthew 8 chapter mention

  826. And you say, well, is this really like

  827. a legitimate position?

  828. Well, think about this.

  829. You know, in Matthew chapter 8,

    Matthew 8 chapter mention

  830. God delivers a man

  831. from an evil spirit known as

  832. legion.

  833. And these demons

  834. petition the Lord

  835. to go into the swine, okay?

  836. And then they are drowned

  837. in the sea.

  838. So in order to spare

  839. one man's life, an entire legion

  840. of demons go into

  841. the swine, the

  842. ton of swine, and they just run off

  843. to cliff and drown in the sea.

  844. And the Lord wasn't like,

  845. man, what a waste.

  846. Oh, man, you know, this is sad.

  847. You know, let's mourn for the pigs or whatever.

  848. You know, he's just like,

  849. see, the man's life is more important than that.

  850. Okay?

  851. So man is more important

  852. than animals.

  853. Look at Matthew chapter 10, verse 30.

    Matthew 10:30

  854. It says,

  855. but the very hairs of your head

  856. are all numbered.

  857. Fear you not therefore.

  858. Listen to this.

  859. Ye are of more value

  860. than many sparrows.

  861. So even though he feeds the sparrows,

  862. he provides for the sparrows,

  863. he creates the perfect atmosphere

  864. for the sparrow to replenish, to multiply,

  865. to be fed, to live its life cycle.

  866. The Bible says here that we

  867. as humans are of more value

  868. than many sparrows.

  869. Look at chapter 12, if you would.

  870. Matthew chapter 12, verse 11,

    Matthew 12:11

  871. says this.

  872. And he said unto them, verse 11,

  873. he said unto them,

  874. what man shall there be among you

  875. that shall have one sheep

  876. and if it fall into a pit on the Sabbath day,

  877. will you not lay hold on it

  878. and lift it out?

  879. How much then is a man better

  880. than sheep?

  881. Wherefore, it is lawful to do well

  882. on the Sabbath days.

  883. What is Jesus doing?

  884. He's prioritizing the life of a human

  885. over the life of an animal.

  886. Let's go back to the Old Testament,

  887. Deuteronomy chapter 12.

    Deuteronomy 12 chapter mention

  888. Deuteronomy chapter 12.

    Deuteronomy 12 chapter mention

  889. The point being here is that

  890. man is far more important

  891. than animals.

  892. Animals are not an afterthought.

  893. They are valuable in the eyes of God.

  894. However, they are inferior.

  895. The life of an animal should never be prioritized

  896. over the life of a human.

  897. Number two is that animals are to improve.

  898. Listen to this.

  899. Animals are to improve

  900. man's quality of life

  901. through food,

  902. entertainment, and companionship.

  903. This is the purpose of

  904. animals in this world.

  905. They are to improve our quality of life

  906. through food, entertainment,

  907. and companionship.

  908. Think about this.

  909. From the beginning it was so.

  910. In Genesis 3, after the fall,

  911. what does God do to

  912. clothe Adam and Eve

  913. and protect them from the elements?

  914. He kills an animal

  915. and clothes them with skins.

  916. We see in Exodus chapter 12,

    Exodus 12 chapter mention

  917. the Passover lamb being instituted.

  918. We have in Exodus 29

  919. animals that are repeatedly

  920. every single day

  921. being sacrificed.

  922. Every single

  923. morning and night

  924. animals are continuously

  925. sacrificed in Israel.

  926. The smell would have been delicious.

  927. Burn offerings,

  928. barbecue every single day.

  929. And this is from God's command.

  930. He's slaughtered these animals

  931. every single day to atone for the sins

  932. and eat their off.

  933. We're not going to let it all go to waste.

  934. You have numbers

  935. 29 to 29, where you have

  936. the regular feast day sacrifices

  937. and so forth.

  938. They're improved the quality of life through food,

  939. entertainment, and companionship.

  940. You're in Deuteronomy 12.

  941. Let me reach you from Genesis 9 verse 3.

    Genesis 9:3

  942. Every moving thing that liveth

  943. shall be meat for you.

  944. Even as the green herb,

  945. have I given you all things?

  946. Look at Deuteronomy 12 verse 15.

    Deuteronomy 12:15

  947. Notwithstanding, thou mayest kill and eat flesh

  948. in all thy gates. This is referring to animals.

  949. Whatsoever thy soul lusteth after,

  950. according to the blessing

  951. of the Lord thy God,

  952. which he hath given thee, the unclean

  953. and the clean may eat thereof

  954. as of the robe buck and as

  955. of the heart. So we're saying here,

  956. you know, eat the food

  957. and it's a signal that God is blessing

  958. you with flesh to eat.

  959. Look at verse 20.

  960. Deuteronomy 12 verse 20 says,

    Deuteronomy 12:20

  961. when the Lord thy God shall enlarge thy border

  962. as he hath promised thee

  963. and thou shalt say, I will eat flesh

  964. because thy soul longeth to eat flesh.

  965. Thou mayest eat flesh.

  966. Whatsoever thy soul lusteth

  967. after, the Bible says. Go to Job chapter

    Job 41 chapter mention

  968. 41.

  969. So this is showing us

  970. that the Bible does not promote

  971. a vegan or vegetarian diet.

  972. Now initially,

  973. during the

  974. creation period prior

  975. to the fall, believe it or not,

  976. everyone was vegetarian.

  977. And when I say everyone,

  978. I mean just Adam and Eve.

  979. Not even their kids, just them.

  980. Obviously,

  981. the eating of flesh was introduced

  982. after the fall because after the fall

  983. animals are being killed, they're being

  984. offered in sacrifices and so forth.

  985. And this is a point that vegans and vegetarians

  986. would try to make from a biblical perspective.

  987. Like, well, you know, Adam and Eve,

  988. they didn't eat flesh

  989. and so eating flesh

  990. is a sign of the fall. Yes, of course.

  991. We agree with that 100%.

  992. The problem is this is that trying to go back

  993. to the garden of

  994. Eden atmosphere without

  995. Christ. You cannot become

  996. a vegan or vegetarian and use the

  997. Bible to substantiate that position

  998. because according to the Bible, we're not going to be

  999. vegetarians until the millennial

  1000. reign. When Christ returns,

1001. it begins to transfigure the world once

  1002. again and our diets

1003. are changed. Now, even then, in the millennial

1004. reign people are still eating meat.

1005. The new heaven and new earth is where

1006. meat is completely removed and

1007. we're just eating fruits and vegetables

  1008. or whatever. And so,

1009. you know, eat up now because there's going to

1010. come a time when we're not going to be able to do that anymore.

1011. The point being here is that

  1012. you know, just because

1013. they were vegetarians in the garden of Eden

  1014. doesn't mean that's what we're supposed to do

  1015. now because obviously there's

1016. a major change that has taken place

1017. between the garden of Eden and the fall.

1018. Look at Job chapter 41. Let me

    Job 41 chapter mention

  1019. read to you from

  1020. 1 Timothy chapter 4.

    1 Timothy 4 chapter mention

1021. You say, well, you know, okay, I get

  1022. it, but

1023. you know, I think there's only certain meats

1024. you're supposed to eat. I think we should

1025. hold to Old Testament dietary

  1026. laws, no shrimp,

  1027. no catfish,

  1028. no pork or whatever.

1029. That sounds like a miserable existence, okay?

  1030. You know, no bacon,

  1031. no sausage,

1032. but the Bible actually teaches us in the New Testament

1033. that these things are permissible.

1034. Now obviously these things were not

1035. permissible in the Old Testament under

  1036. the mosaic dietary laws,

1037. but not because it posed a moral

  1038. problem, but because

  1039. it was proposing just

  1040. disobedience to God's

1041. command to not eat of these animals because it

  1042. pictured sin,

  1043. a picture being a participant in

1044. other peoples, other nations' transgressions

  1045. and cultures and beliefs.

1046. But that was just a short window

1047. of time where that was imposed.

1048. In fact, the Bible literally says

1049. that meat, drinks, and diverse

  1050. washings, carnal ordinances

  1051. were imposed upon them

  1052. until the time

  1053. of Reformation.

1054. Referring to the death of Jesus Christ on the cross,

1055. he's the culmination of all those Old Testament

1056. pictures, and now he says,

  1057. rise, kill, and eat.

1058. Says that in Acts chapter 10, right?

    Acts 10 chapter mention

1059. Rise, kill, and eat, clean, and unclean.

1060. And look folks, if you run into

1061. a person that tells you, oh,

1062. the Bible teaches that you

1063. can't eat pork, and so therefore

1064. you're sinning. According to the Bible,

  1065. they're teaching a doctrine of devils.

  1066. If they have

  1067. that preference for themselves,

1068. it's different. If they say

1069. the Bible does not prohibit

  1070. this, but I just feel like I shouldn't

1071. eat pork, I'm not going to eat shellfish,

1072. I'm not going to eat shrimp, I'm not

1073. going to eat whatever, you know, that's

1074. okay. But when they begin to teach

1075. it as a commandment of God,

  1076. now it's a transgression.

1077. Because the Bible says that the

1078. Spirit speaketh expressly, then in

1079. the latter times some shall depart

1080. from the faith, giving heed to seducing

1081. spirits and doctrines of devils,

  1082. speaking lies and hypocrisy,

1083. having their conscience seared with the hot iron.

1084. Listen to this, forbidding to marry

1085. and commanding to abstain from

  1086. meats.

1087. And then it says this, which God

1088. has commanded to be received

1089. with Thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.

1090. And then he says, for every

1091. creature of God is good

1092. and nothing to be refused

1093. if it be received with Thanksgiving.

1094. So look, obviously this is

1095. giving us permission to eat any type of animal,

1096. it doesn't mean you should though.

  1097. Like, bats

  1098. you know.

  1099. You know, dogs

  1100. not interested.

1101. But you know, there's countries out there

1102. that do that stuff, you know.

1103. Southeast Asia is one of them.

1104. Well, they'll eat dogs, okay.

1105. And some of you might have participated

1106. in such, I'm not going to look at anybody right now

1107. but I'm trying not to,

  1108. you know.

1109. But it is true, Asians often,

  1110. I know Asians

1111. that have eaten dog, okay.

1112. But I can't say they're sinning by doing that

1113. because every creature of God is good

1114. and nothing to be refused, okay.

  1115. And so, you know

1116. they are meant for our food.

1117. But as I mentioned, they're also meant

  1118. to entertain us

1119. and provide amusement for us.

  1120. Okay.

1121. And this is why zoos

  1122. are biblical.

  1123. Wild Animal Park,

  1124. Sea World,

  1125. the Los Angeles Zoo,

1126. all these things are appropriate to have.

1127. There's nothing wrong with having zoos

1128. and in fact, Solomon was so rich

  1129. that he imported

1130. all types of exotic animals.

  1131. Barbara literally says

1132. that he imported gold and silver

  1133. apes and peacocks.

  1134. He's not eating them.

1135. He just wants to look at them.

  1136. He just got animals

1137. just so he could look at, right.

1138. And so, you know, oh man

1139. but it's so wrong to keep these animals

1140. in cage. No, it's not.

  1141. No, it's not.

1142. But that's being cruel. Well, cruelty

1143. is forbidden in the Bible for sure.

1144. But cruelty means like not feeding them.

  1145. Cruelty means like

1146. you are like, you know

1147. physically being abusive to them. You're

1148. beating them. You're maiming them, right.

  1149. You're mistreating them.

1150. Putting them in a cage

1151. according to the biblical standard is not mistreatment.

  1152. It's not. Because it's for our

1153. amusement. If they're getting food, you know

1154. they don't have to go out and kill

1155. some sort of animal to get it. We're just

1156. bringing it to them. There's actually nothing wrong with that.

1157. The Bible does not condemn it.

1158. All you animal lovers are out there

1159. all mad or whatever. That's what the Bible says.

  1160. James 3.7 tells us

1161. for every kind of beast and of birds

1162. and of serpents and of things in the sea

  1163. is tamed and

1164. has been tamed of mankind.

1165. You know what that means? Like there are instances

1166. throughout history where people have taken a lion

  1167. and they muzzled it

1168. and they have a chain on it and it's been

1169. tamed of it. Oh, that's wrong too.

1170. No, it's not. God says we have dominion over

1171. these things and we should have

1172. the privileges to be able to tame

1173. them and use them for

  1174. amusement.

1175. Solomon did it. James 3 talks

1176. about taming animals. Look at Job 41

  1177. in verse number 5.

  1178. It says,

  1179. in Job 41

  1180. we have a description

  1181. of Leviathan.

  1182. Leviathan is this

  1183. monstrous sea creature

1184. that no longer exists today.

  1185. And based upon

  1186. the description, it's actually

  1187. depicting a dragon.

  1188. So dragons were real.

1189. We have it described here

1190. in Job 41 and it actually

  1191. breathes fire.

1192. You can look at all of the details it gives

1193. is pretty much an actual literal dragon.

1194. You're like, do you believe in dragons?

1195. I mean the Bible talks about dragons.

  1196. You know

1197. here's the thing folks, you have all these cultures

1198. all around the world that depict an actual

1199. dragon. Somehow that's like a mythical creature.

1200. You think someone just made amongst all these other

1201. you know the Chinese calendar has all these

1202. real animals and then just this fake animal

1203. or something like that. No, it's probably a real creature

1204. that exists at one point.

1205. And the Bible refers to him as Leviathan.

1206. Now why does it exist?

1207. Why did God create it?

1208. Or why is it being spoken of? Well, Leviathan is

1209. actually a picture of Satan.

  1210. Because he's the dragon.

1211. And you look at all the parallels between

1212. what the Bible says in Job 41

1213. and Satan that kind of match up

1214. and in other passages that talk about Leviathan.

  1215. Now, Leviathan is actually

  1216. the

1217. exception to the rule of Taming.

  1218. Because

1219. the Bible says we can have dominion over all animals

1220. but Job 41 along with

1221. other passages that talk about Leviathan

1222. seem to indicate that no man

1223. could tame Leviathan. It was too large.

  1224. Okay?

1225. They couldn't even pierce its heart with spears.

1226. They couldn't fight against it.

1227. They couldn't do anything. So the way

1228. it had to be killed was through God.

  1229. God specifically takes credit

  1230. for breaking the heads

  1231. of Leviathan and giving

1232. the meats of that creature

1233. to the people, to the inhabitants

1234. of the land. This is what it says in the book of Psalms.

  1235. Okay?

1236. And so, you know, here in Job 41

  1237. he's describing this large

1238. sea creature and he's saying

1239. are you going to play with them as with the bird?

1240. Is this like any other creature that you contain?

1241. And he says, are you going to bind him

  1242. for your maidens?

1243. What does that mean? Well, he's basically saying

1244. you know how you take a monkey and you bind

1245. the monkey and you're kind of showing it off to the ladies?

1246. Right? You got a little monkey

1247. and you're showing it off. You got a little alligator

1248. and you're showing it off to the girls.

1249. You're kind of, you know, you're over here

1250. trying to oar a farm or whatever

1251. and you're showing off these animals.

1252. You're like, ah, look what I've done. I've tamed this thing, you know.

1253. And the ladies are like, ah, you know.

1254. He's saying that you can't do this

1255. with Leviathan. Leviathan cannot be tamed.

1256. So this is the exception to the rule.

1257. And the spiritual application there obviously

1258. is that we cannot tame Satan.

  1259. Right? We are

  1260. to flee Satan, right?

1261. Resist the devil and then he will flee from you.

1262. You know, flee from the temptations

1263. of Satan and so forth. The point that I'm making here

1264. is that the Bible obviously

1265. tells us that there are instances

1266. where people have bound and tamed animals

1267. for the entertainment even of the

1268. maidens. I'm telling you right now

1269. Solomon probably got the apes and the peacocks

1270. in order to show him off to his 700 concubines

1271. or whatever. You know, give him

  1272. something to do.

  1273. Right?

1274. You guys bored? I just brought some peacocks.

1275. You guys want to go look at the apes and the peacocks

1276. or whatever? So that's what it's for.

1277. Okay? Go to Genesis chapter 2.

    Genesis 2 chapter mention

1278. So, you know, it's not wrong

  1279. to trap animals

1280. and have them for your entertainment.

1281. Obviously the Bible expects us to

  1282. be kind to animals

1283. and not to be cruel.

1284. And you know what? I'm not going to take my definition

1285. of cruel from animal lovers who hate God.

1286. Yeah, you said not cruel, but putting them in a cage

1287. is cruel. You don't know what you're talking about.

  1288. You're an unsafe person. I'm talking

1289. about from a biblical perspective,

  1290. a biblical standard

  1291. and I don't take my philosophies

1292. and my ideologies from Christ's

  1293. rejecters. Okay?

1294. You're in Genesis too. So

  1295. animals are created

1296. for our food. Every creature of God

  1297. is good. They're created

1298. for our entertainment. Go to Sea World.

1299. Go to Wild Animal Park.

1300. Go look at the giraffes

1301. and the lions and be entertained by

1302. go knock on the glass or whatever.

  1303. You don't like it.

1304. You can go somewhere else, amen.

1305. We have dominion over them. This is what the Bible teaches.

1306. But they're also made for our companionship

  1307. as well. Okay?

1308. Here's for you softies out there.

1309. You're bleeding hearts now. Here's the part

1310. that you like. Okay? It's true.

1311. They are made for companionship.

  1312. It's a biblical thing.

1313. I mean, think about this in 2 Samuel.

  1314. When Nathan is

  1315. confronting David,

1316. he uses the illustration of a man

  1317. who had one U-lam.

1318. And he says, in that story

1319. the U-lam was like raised

1320. with them and it became like a daughter unto them.

1321. Right? It was just like a part of their family.

1322. It just kind of grew up with them.

  1323. Their hearts were endeared

1324. to the U-lam. And obviously

1325. the illustration was used to demonstrate

1326. that David was an adulterer. Okay?

1327. But the point being here is that

1328. this is a legitimate thing where

1329. you have animals for companionship.

1330. Look at Genesis 2. This is the original

  1331. purpose of animals.

1332. Genesis 2 verse 18 says the Lord God

    Genesis 2:18

1333. said, it is not good

1334. that man should be alone.

1335. I will make him and help meet for him.

1336. So what does he do?

1337. And out of the ground the Lord God formed

1338. every beast of the field,

1339. every fowl of the air,

1340. and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them.

  1341. And whatsoever Adam called

1342. every living creature, that was the name

1343. they're of. So the solution

  1344. to Adam being alone

1345. was God said, let's give him a zoo.

1346. Now keep in mind, the animals

1347. had already existed at this point.

1348. They were created on the fifth and the sixth day, right?

1349. They're the beast of the land

1350. and so forth were already created.

1351. These animals that he's bringing to Adam

1352. were like new animals that got

1353. formed in the Garden of Eden

  1354. specifically for Adam.

1355. Understand? So he's just like, well

1356. I don't want Adam to be alone.

1357. I want him to have some companionship.

1358. I want him to interact.

1359. Let's give him a bunch of animals and have them

1360. name him. So he brings this animal

1361. out and he's just like

  1362. long neck, yellow thing.

  1363. Long horse, yellow neck

1364. or whatever. You know, gray fat

1365. whatever for the elephant. And he's just naming

1366. all these animals. But here's the

  1367. problem. Verse 20

1368. Adam gave names to all the cattle

1369. and to all the fowl of the air to every beast of the field

1370. but for Adam there was not found and helped me

1371. for him. What does that tell us?

1372. It tells us that animals provide

  1373. great companionship but

  1374. it's insufficient.

  1375. Meaning that

  1376. you're a little doggy

1377. okay, is a great companion

1378. to you but you know what? You also need to

  1379. talk to people.

1380. You need to interact with human

  1381. beings. I just relate

  1382. better to animals.

  1383. Okay cat lady.

1384. You know, uh, no that's not

1385. God created us to be social creatures

  1386. with other people.

  1387. And to supplement that

1388. companionship yeah, you can have a dog

  1389. a cat, an iguana

  1390. you know, or whatever

1391. something that can actually like interact with you

  1392. okay, not a scorpion

1393. or a spider or something like that. You know

1394. uh, have some sort of creature

1395. that will provide some sort of companionship

  1396. entertainment and so forth

1397. and yeah, you can love that thing for sure

  1398. okay. There's nothing wrong

1399. with loving your dog, loving your cat

1400. your bird or whatever it may be

1401. but just know that it is subject to vanity

1402. it's gonna die okay. And also

  1403. understand

1404. that that is not a substitute for real

  1405. people.

1406. Okay, that's an important point

1407. and I know I'm offending people right now

1408. because you know, your little teacup

1409. dog is like means the world to you

1410. and you'd rather be with that dog than anybody

1411. else or whatever. I'm just giving you the

  1412. biblical perspective on this

1413. that God wants you to interact with

  1414. people. He wants you

  1415. to socialize with actual

  1416. human beings, okay

  1417. animals can't talk

  1418. what is it boy?

1419. Timmy fell down the well? No, he just

  1420. he just

1421. crapped all over your floor is what he's saying

1422. this is like oh man, you know

1423. I know what he meant by that, this is what he means

  1424. it can't talk

  1425. all dolphins

  1426. are just so intelligent

  1427. no, they're dolphins

1428. but their brains are so big

1429. yet they get eaten up all the time

1430. by killer whales, not that smart

  1431. they're animals

1432. I just wish I could be on an island with all these

1433. animals, you'd be on the top of the food

1434. chain or you'd be at the bottom of the food chain

1435. they would just eat you

  1436. okay

1437. animals are great, you know

1438. when I was a kid, every kid wants an animal

1439. they want a little dog

  1440. I had a dog

  1441. I had a scorpion

  1442. I had an iguana

1443. what else, I had a bird at one point

1444. but you know what, at the end

1445. of the day it gets boring

1446. and I want to go talk to actual people

1447. okay, I want someone to be able to interact

1448. with and you know what, an animal

  1449. does not have a

1450. soul in the sense that it can

  1451. feel and communicate

  1452. you know, spiritual things

1453. right, that's what we need people

  1454. for, okay

1455. and so that's important to know, I'm breaking everyone's heart

  1456. here, but I'm just

1457. you know, you gotta hear it

1458. man is superior to animals, God also requires

1459. man to treat animals properly

1460. look at Proverbs chapter 12, if you would

    Proverbs 12 chapter mention

  1461. Proverbs chapter 12

    Proverbs 12 chapter mention

  1462. Proverbs chapter 12

    Proverbs 12 chapter mention

1463. and look, we do live in a

  1464. society that kind of

1465. esteems animals to the point

1466. where it's just beyond reason

1467. and people can become rude about it

1468. okay, you're like, well you're being rude

1469. about it, well why don't you listen to everything else

  1470. that animal lovers say

1471. okay, you know animal lovers

  1472. they can get extreme

1473. cat lovers can get extreme

1474. cat lovers can get very extreme

1475. dog lovers can get very extreme

1476. they just become so obsessed

  1477. with their animal

1478. that to a point where it's just like

1479. you know, they prefer animals over

1480. human beings, that's not right

1481. but at the same time folks, you know

1482. this doesn't mean we should be cruel to animals either

1483. okay, look at Proverbs 12 verse 10

    Proverbs 12:10

1484. this is a righteous man

1485. regarded the life of his beast

1486. but the tender mercies of the wicked

  1487. are cruel

1488. so what this means is that if you're gonna have an animal

1489. make sure you take care of it, amen

1490. take care of it, feed it

1491. you know, give it the proper shelter

1492. you know, don't be mean

1493. to the animal, if you're being mean to the animal

1494. just give it to someone else

1495. because God commands you not to be cruel

1496. he wants you to be a good steward of the creation

  1497. that he's provided, okay

1498. you know, I think about my mom, my mom had

  1499. like these Maltese dogs

1500. you know, these, it was like three or four

1501. of them that just yapped all the time

1502. you know, all they're good for is just yapping

  1503. okay, they're just like

1504. like shut up, you know

1505. and they just bark all the time

1506. but she loved those dogs and she took care

1507. of those dogs like really well

1508. like, I'm talking about like

1509. I'm like dang, these dogs eat better than I do

1510. so I'm talking about the world, you know

1511. just giving them good food

1512. and taking it to the vet or whatever

1513. one of them lived to like 17 years of age or something

1514. which is like beyond its life expectancy

1515. and so, you know, my mom took care of it

1516. she walked it, she fed it

  1517. I think that's proper to do

1518. I don't think it's right to be cruel to animals

1519. I don't think, you know, people should be killing animals

  1520. and killing cats

  1521. and just abusing them

1522. and putting them into a sack

1523. and throwing them into a river or whatever

1524. these are things that people used to do back in the day

1525. you know, I don't think it's right to just intentionally run them over

  1526. or something like that

  1527. 10 points, you know

1528. I do think that, you know, if you run into

  1529. like for example

1530. if I run into a rattlesnake in my backyard

1531. I am going to kill it

1532. I'm not going to try to release it carefully

1533. because I got six kids

1534. I'm going to grab a shovel and just chop its head off

1535. you know what I mean?

1536. because that thing can kill someone

1537. it can kill my children, okay

1538. and so, you know, I don't believe that's cruelty

1539. that's me putting my children above the creature

  1540. but in general

1541. we are not to be cruel to animals

1542. treat them right, feed them correctly and so forth, okay

1543. now go to Job chapter 12

    Job 12 chapter mention

  1544. Job chapter 12

    Job 12 chapter mention

1545. Job chapter 12, if you would

    Job 12 chapter mention

1546. I'm going to give one last point

  1547. in this regard

  1548. because I'm going to

1549. this is going to pour into my Sunday night sermon

  1550. and on Sunday night

1551. we're going to talk about this same subject

1552. but we're going to get into the uncomfortable subject

  1553. of bestiality, okay

  1554. and reprobation and so

1555. don't miss out on that

1556. make sure you're here for that, you'll learn a lot

1557. point number three regarding man's relation

1558. to animals is that animals are

1559. meant to illustrate spiritual truths

1560. and provide practical applications to man

1561. Proverbs chapter 12 verse 7 says this

    Proverbs 12:7

1562. but ask now the beast

1563. and they shall teach thee

1564. and the fowls of the air

1565. and they shall tell thee

1566. or speak to the earth and it shall teach thee

1567. and the fishes of the sea shall declare unto thee

1568. who knoweth not in all these things

1569. that the hand of the Lord hath wrought this

1570. so what's the purpose of animals

1571. well according to the Bible we're to actually learn from them

  1572. okay

  1573. there's actually a lot of lessons

1574. that we can learn from animals

1575. go to Proverbs chapter 6

    Proverbs 6 chapter mention

1576. so God says you know

1577. they're not just there for our entertainment

1578. for our food, for our companionship

  1579. if we observe animals

1580. they can actually teach us

1581. a lot of spiritual truths

1582. you say what can we

  1583. possibly learn

  1584. from any animal

1585. what is it that we could possibly learn

1586. well look at Proverbs 6 verse 6

    Proverbs 6:6

1587. says here in Proverbs 6 verse 6

    Proverbs 6:6

  1588. go to the end

  1589. thou sluggard

1590. now what is the sluggard

1591. it means it's referring to a lazy person

1592. a person who does not want to work

1593. they don't want to get up in the morning

1594. they just doom scroll all day

  1595. they don't have a job

1596. they don't lift, they don't work out

1597. they don't do anything with their lives

1598. the Bible says here that that is a sluggard

1599. he says go to the end thou sluggard

  1600. consider her ways

  1601. and be wise

1602. so it's like to the lazy person

  1603. he says I have

  1604. homework for you

1605. go outside and look how

  1606. the ant operates

1607. verse 7 which having no guide

  1608. overseer or ruler

1609. provided her meat in the summer

  1610. and gathered her food

  1611. in the harvest

1612. what is he saying he's saying if you go to the ant

1613. you'll realize that the ant is a very diligent insect

  1614. meaning that right now

1615. in the summer it's working

  1616. it's saving up food

  1617. it's providing food

1618. because he knows that the harvest is coming

1619. he says in verse 9

1620. how long will thou sleep oh sluggard

1621. when thou will arise out of thy sleep

1622. yet a little sleep a little slumber

1623. a little folding of the hands to sleep

1624. so shall thy poverty come

1625. as one that traveleth and they want

  1626. as an armed man

1627. so you know animals can

1628. provide a lot of wisdom

1629. it can teach you how not to be a lazy bum

  1630. you know

1631. it can teach a person who lacks character

1632. and doesn't want to get a job

  1633. and just sleeps around

1634. and each chips off his stomach

1635. and just plays video games

1636. and doom scrolls all day

1637. God says man the ant is more diligent

  1638. than you are

1639. the ant will accomplish more

1640. in its tiny life cycle

  1641. than most people today

1642. so he says hey you need to go to the ant

1643. and actually observe and realize hey

  1644. I'm a lazy bum

  1645. I'm a sluggard I'm a slothful person

1646. than I need to be

1647. diligent I need to work

1648. I need to plan and not sleep

  1649. in all the time

1650. by the way sleep is good

1651. the Bible tells us that he giveth his beloved sleep

  1652. and God provides sleep

1653. for us he wants us to get the rest that we need

1654. what this is talking about

  1655. is someone who's a sluggard

1656. who just constantly sleeps in

  1657. it's sleeping until

  1658. you know afternoon

1659. even though he doesn't have a job

  1660. okay

1661. and then he struggles to get a church on Sunday

1662. or he's just playing video games

  1663. he's just living off

1664. he's 30 years old living with his parents

1665. not having a job or whatever

1666. this is a sluggardly person

1667. and God says it sounds like you need to take lessons

1668. from the creatures of this world

1669. in order to teach you some character

  1670. and diligence

1671. so animals are meant to illustrate spiritual truths

  1672. go to 1 Corinthians chapter 9

    1 Corinthians 9 chapter mention

  1673. 1 Corinthians chapter 9

    1 Corinthians 9 chapter mention

1674. and I'm going to stop right there

1675. actually I'm going to stop right there

1676. so what's the lesson from this morning sermon

1677. here's the lesson is that

  1678. take care of animals

  1679. appreciate animals

  1680. but never hold them

1681. as being far more important

  1682. in value than humanity

  1683. okay

1684. I'm not saying be cold hearted

  1685. if your dog dies

  1686. okay

1687. but I'm also not saying

1688. that you should be shedding a tear

  1689. if that animal died

1690. instead of a person though

  1691. okay

1692. it's just like well you know I just think that

1693. you know I remember years ago

  1694. I think it was like 2020

1695. during the whole COVID thing there's so much chaos

1696. that a person in New York

  1697. had stolen

  1698. a police

1699. horse right because they have

1700. horses out there they don't have cars

  1701. they have horses

1702. and he had stolen the police horse

1703. and he was like filming himself

1704. and then someone had made a comment to me like

1705. oh man that guy should be put to death

1706. and I was like why

  1707. and they're like because

1708. that police horse is basically

  1709. like a police officer

  1710. and I'm like no that's a horse

  1711. that's glue

  1712. okay

  1713. okay

  1714. that's a horse

1715. and it's just like yeah but it's not right

1716. to do yeah I agree

1717. you know being a thief is not right

1718. okay but the Bible never prescribes

1719. the death penalty for stealing

  1720. unless you're stealing a man

  1721. unless you're kidnapping someone

1722. you know that doesn't prescribe the death penalty

1723. it just prescribes you know

  1724. restitution

1725. but this is the mentality and this came from a Christian

  1726. they're just like oh

1727. that person should be put to death

  1728. it's just like you

1729. are you worshiping the creature more than the creator or something like that

1730. how are you gonna say that this person's life

1731. is less valuable than a horse

  1732. it's absolutely nonsensical

1733. you know and at the end of the day

1734. we have to understand that we cannot allow ourselves

1735. to become so enamored with the

1736. creation that we begin to

  1737. violate biblical principles

  1738. of human life

1739. okay and so very important let's pray

1740. Father we thank you so much for your word

1741. and thank you for the creation Lord

  1742. thank you for animals

1743. we're thankful for their existence

1744. because it provides not just

1745. educational knowledge that we can learn

1746. but just we can be entertained

1747. by them we can glorify you on their behalf

1748. on their behalf and also

1749. they are food for us

1750. we're thankful that you provided for us whether it's

  1751. meat it's chicken it's the eggs

1752. it's all types of sustenance

1753. that animals can provide today

1754. and I pray that you give us a proper biblical perspective

  1755. of how animals

1756. should operate in our personal lives

1757. help us never to esteem an animal

1758. above the life of a human being

1759. and I pray that you bless us as we go on our way

1760. we love you we thank you

1761. pray this things in Jesus name amen
