  1. Amen.

  2. Well, I want to thank Pastor Mahia for giving me the opportunity to preach this morning.

  3. And you're there in 1 John chapter 5, look down at your Bibles at verse 13.

    1 John 5 chapter mention

  4. The Bible says, these things have arisen unto you that believe on the name of the Son of

  5. God.

  6. And it says that you may know that you have eternal life and that you may believe

  7. on the name of the Son of God.

  8. And the title of the sermon this morning is the importance of eternal security,

  9. the importance of eternal security.

  10. And this is why I want to preach on this doctrine of eternal security or one

  11. save while we save because it is an essential doctrine of the Christian faith.

  12. The Bible does teach that eternal security is the gospel.

  13. So in order to be saved, you have to believe in this doctrine.

  14. And according to the eternal security, you know, as a believer, we can have full assurance

  15. that we are saved.

  16. So if you're here this morning visiting and you don't know whether or not you're

  17. going to go to heaven, the Bible says right there in 1 John 5, 13 that God wrote this

  18. so that we can know that we have eternal life.

  19. And this morning I have six points that I want to cover of what eternal security proves.

  20. And I have a seventh point as a bonus of what happens if you deny this doctrine.

  21. So just as a way of introduction, I'm going to read to you a couple of verses and while

  22. I do that, just go to John chapter 10 if you would, John chapter 10.

John 10 chapter mention John 10 chapter mention

  23. And as I said, eternal security is the gospel.

  24. It is something that God has made clear in the Bible.

  25. It's not an obscure doctrine where, you know, we have to wonder whether or

  26. not we're going to go to heaven.

  27. The Bible makes it very clear that we can know.

  28. And that's a good assurance to us.

  29. That's the good news knowing whether or not we're going to go to heaven when we die.

  30. And it's not something that we have to wait until, you know, we die, you know,

  31. to find out whether or not we were good enough to go.

  32. The Bible says right here that he wrote this so that we can actually know

  33. because we believe on the name of the Son of God.

  34. And so Acts 16 tells us exactly what we have to do in order to get saved.

  35. Obviously this is just a review for a lot of us because we know what it

  36. takes to get saved if you're saved this morning.

  37. The Bible makes it clear that there's only one thing that we have to do

  38. in order to go to heaven and that's just to believe on Jesus Christ,

  39. which means we have to put all our faith, all our trust, all our confidence

  40. in what Jesus Christ did for us on the cross.

  41. You know, the fact that he died for us was buried and that he rose again

  42. three days later. And if we put our faith on this,

  43. the Bible says that we have eternal life.

  44. The Bible says in Acts 16 30 and 31 and brought them out and said,

  45. sirs, what must I do to be saved?

  46. And so that question was asked in the Bible.

  47. You know, what do I have to do in order to go to heaven?

  48. And it's pretty simple. The answer, right?

  49. It was very clear.

  50. You know, God could have put anything on this passage, you know,

  51. when it talks about what do we have to do to go to be saved?

  52. You know, God could have said you have to repent of your sins.

  53. God could have said you have to get baptized.

  54. You have to go to church.

  55. You have to be a good person.

  56. But when we read that verse, when the question was asked,

  57. what must I do to be saved?

  58. The answer was clear and it says this, believe on the Lord Jesus Christ

  59. and thou shall be saved.

  60. So it's that simple, just believing on Jesus Christ,

  61. having faith in the Jesus of the Bible.

  62. And like I say, you know, eternal security is not an obscure doctrine.

  63. It's something that's very clear in the Bible.

  64. It's not something that we have to, you know, study for long hours.

  65. We read a verse and we take it at face value, use some common sense,

  66. use some logic, and we can understand that once we're saved, we're always saved.

  67. And we read to you another verse.

  68. The Bible says in Acts 4 12, you're still there in John chapter 10.

    John 10 chapter mention

  69. The Bible says in Acts 4 12, neither is there salvation and any other

  70. for there is none other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved.

  71. And so the point I'm trying to make here is that Jesus Christ

  72. is the one that gives us eternal life and there's no other name

  73. given among men under heaven where we must be saved.

  74. And so the Bible makes it clear that we have to put our faith on Jesus Christ.

  75. And when we talk about Jesus Christ, we're talking about the Jesus of the Bible.

  76. See, because there's a lot of false Jesus out there.

  77. There's a lot of false Gospels out there.

  78. And when we tell people, hey, put your faith on Jesus Christ,

  79. we're talking about Jesus of the Bible.

  80. The Bible says in 1 Timothy chapter two, verse five, it says, for there is one God

  81. and one mediator between God and man, the man Christ Jesus.

  82. So all throughout the Bible, it's going to emphasize that the Savior of men

  83. is Jesus Christ.

  84. And notice that it says that there's one mediator between man and God,

  85. the man Christ Jesus.

  86. It's not saying the Virgin Mary.

  87. It's not saying the Pope, that faggot, right?

  88. It's not saying the priest or anything like that.

  89. It's saying that there's one man between one mediator between man and God,

  90. the man Christ Jesus.

  91. Now I'm going to read to you in John chapter 22, you're still there in John 10.

  92. John 22, 31, similar

  93. wordage to what we saw in 1 John chapter five.

  94. It says, but these are written that you might believe that Jesus is the Christ,

  95. the Son of God, and that believing you might have life through his name.

  96. And so John makes it very clear what we have to believe, right?

  97. In order to get saved.

  98. He tells us the purpose of his books.

  99. He says, but these are written that you might believe that Jesus is the Christ,

  100. the Son of God, and that believing you might have life through his name.

  101. In 1 John five, 13, when we first started,

  102. he said that these things are written that you may know that you have eternal life,

  103. right? That you believe on the name of Son of God, may know that you have

  104. eternal life.

  105. And so this morning, as I said, I want to give you six points of what the

  106. doctrine of eternal security proves and a seventh one as a bonus of what

  107. happens if you denied this doctrine.

  108. So let me read to you another verse before we get started.

  109. Second Corinthians chapter 11 and verse four says,

    2 Corinthians 11 chapter mention

  110. for if he that cometh, preach another Jesus whom we have not preached,

  111. or if you receive another spirit, which you have not received or another

  112. gospel, which you have not accepted, you might well bear with him.

  113. And so here we see that there is another Jesus, obviously the false Jesus.

  114. There's another gospel, which is a false gospel.

  115. There's another spirit.

  116. And the Bible tells us in the first John five,

  117. I believe it says, beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits,

  118. whether they are of God, because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

  119. And so there's a lot of false prophets out there.

  120. The Bible makes it very clear.

  121. People that profess to be Christians, people that pass themselves as passers,

  122. you know, desiring to be teachers of the law, understanding neither what

  123. they teach nor where they affirm.

  124. And so there's a lot of people out there that have the title of a pastor,

  125. but they're teaching a false gospel.

  126. And why is it false?

  127. Because they deny one, save what we save.

  128. They deny eternal security.

  129. And so here we see that there's another spirit.

  130. There's another gospel.

  131. The Bible also says in Galatians one, it says, which is not another,

  132. but there will be some that trouble you who would pervert the gospel of Christ.

  133. So it's not that there's two gospels or anything like that.

  134. There's only one gospel, believing in the Lord Jesus Christ.

  135. But there are people out there that would pervert this gospel of Christ.

  136. And so, like I said this morning,

  137. I just want to give you six points on what the doctrine of eternal security proves.

  138. And then a bonus point of what happens if you were to deny this doctrine.

  139. So go to you're there in John chapter 10.

    John 10 chapter mention

  140. Look down at your Bibles at verse 28.

  141. That's how the sermon this morning is the importance of eternal security.

  142. So here's the first thing that proves number one is this,

  143. that eternal security does prove one save, always save, right?

  144. Or as we also can put it as you cannot lose your salvation.

  145. The Bible teaches that once you're saved, you're always saved.

  146. That's it. Once you put your faith on Jesus Christ, you have eternal life.

  147. And like the word implies eternal means eternal.

  148. It's not temporal life.

  149. It's something that once you have it, you're always going to have it.

  150. Now in John chapter 10, verse 28, look down at your Bibles and it says,

    John 10:28

  151. And I give unto them eternal life, and they shall never perish.

  152. Neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

  153. My father, which gave them me, is greater than all.

  154. And no man is able to pluck them out of my father's hand.

  155. Now go to Romans chapter eight.

  156. And so here we see, you know, that not only are we placed in the hand of Jesus,

  157. we're also placed in the hand of the Father.

  158. And so once we're in God's hand, there's nothing that we can do to pluck ourselves out.

  159. That's why it doesn't make sense when people say, you know,

  160. well, I'm able to walk away or what if I were to give the gift back?

  161. Or what if I were to fall away?

  162. That wouldn't make any sense.

  163. I would contradict this verse because the Bible clearly teaches that we're in

  164. the Father's hand and it says that no man is able to pluck them out out of my

  165. father's hand. And so that would include me. That would include you.

  166. You know, anything that you do,

  167. there's nothing that you can do, whereas you would fall out of the hand of God.

  168. God is preserving us. God is protecting us in his hand.

  169. Now you're there in Romans chapter eight.

  170. I'm going to read to you from John chapter six.

  171. And this reinforces what John 10 says.

  172. It says, All that the Father give me shall come to me and hand that come

  173. into me, I will know wise.

  174. Now notice how it says in no wise cast out, which means for any reason.

  175. So there's nothing that we can do where Jesus Christ will say, you know,

  176. cast us out, right? He knew far before we even got saved, you know,

  177. all the sins that we were ever to commit our future sins, our past sins,

  178. our present sins, because we sin every single day.

  179. And knowing that, having the knowledge of that, you know,

  180. the Bible says that he will cast us out in no wise.

  181. So for any reason, he will not cast us out.

  182. As I said, not only are we in Jesus hand, but we're also in the hand of the Father.

  183. The Bible says that, you know, no man is able to pluck them out.

  184. So we're not able to pluck ourselves out.

  185. Nobody is able to pluck us out.

  186. And in no wise means for any reason.

  187. Now you're there in Romans chapter eight.

  188. Look down at verse thirty eight.

  189. The Bible says, For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels,

  190. nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come.

  191. I want you to remember that.

  192. And it says in verse thirty nine, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature

  193. shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus, our Lord.

  194. And so notice how it says in verse thirty eight, nor things to come.

  195. And you know, what's included in that are future sins, right?

  196. Because what's what's to come?

  197. We're going to sin tomorrow.

  198. You know, we probably already sinned today.

  199. There's no day that we can go without even sinning one time.

  200. And so God, knowing that beforehand,

  201. he still chose to die for us over 2000 years ago.

  202. Jesus Christ died for all our sins and knowing very well that we're still going to

  203. sin, the Bible says, nor things to come, that would include our future sins.

  204. Because here's the thing, we're going to sin regardless, right?

  205. Whether you're saved, whether you're lost, we're all sinners.

  206. The Bible says for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.

  207. And so even if we were to backslide, according to the Bible,

  208. we would still be saved, right?

  209. It's not to say that, you know, we should backslide.

  210. But the reality is this, Christians backslide, people fall out of church.

  211. People get involved in sin.

  212. People start developing sinful habits or resorting to old habits,

  213. where it takes them out of the race.

  214. And even if we were to do that, according to the Bible, we would still be saved.

  215. The Bible says in Hebrews 10, it says,

  216. for we are not of them that draw back into perdition,

  217. but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.

  218. And so we're never going to backslide to the point where we're lost, right?

  219. Because again, nobody could pluck us out out of the hand of the Father.

  220. Now go with me, if you would, to Romans chapter four.

  221. Romans chapter four.

  222. So the point I'm trying to make this morning, the first point is that

  223. eternal security proves one's save all we save.

  224. And the reason why we say that this is the gospel is because

  225. in order to get saved, you have to believe in the promise of God.

  226. The Bible says that in the hope of eternal life,

  227. which God that cannot lie promised before the world began.

  228. So if you were to get saved, you have to believe that you can never lose it.

  229. If you believe that you can lose it for any reason at all, for any wise,

  230. right, you're not believing what God is saying.

  231. The Bible says that in, give me a second here.

  232. And go to, I told you, go to Romans chapter four.

  233. The Bible says in Romans chapter four,

  234. look down your browser, verse number six.

  235. It says, even as David also described the blessedness of the man

  236. unto whom God and Peter righteous without works.

  237. So before I get to the second point, what I'm trying to make here

  238. is that the first point is this, that once we believe on Jesus Christ

  239. on the right Jesus, we have eternal life.

  240. That's it.

  241. No man could pull like this out of his hand.

  242. The first point I'm making is this, that eternal life proves one save,

  243. always save.

  244. The second point that I want to make this morning is that eternal

  245. security proves that Jesus paid for every single sin.

  246. Jesus Christ died for every single sin.

  247. And what we're saying is that this too, that once you believe

  248. on Jesus, the right Jesus, the Jesus of the Bible,

  249. not the Jesus of the Mormons, who's the brother of Satan,

  250. not the Jesus of the Muslims, right?

  251. Who just think he's a prophet or something like that.

  252. Not the one who's Pentecostal Jesus, none of that.

  253. We're believing in Jesus of the Bible, the Son of God, God and the flesh.

  254. So once we believe on him, we have eternal life.

  255. The second point is this, that eternal

  256. eternal security proves that Jesus paid for every single sin.

  257. Now you're still there in Romans chapter four.

  258. Let's continue reading there.

  259. It says in verse number seven, saying blessed are they whose

  260. iniquities are forgiven, which would refer to our past sins.

  261. And then it says and whose sins are covered, which would refer to our

  262. present sins. And it says, blessed is the man to whom the Lord

  263. will not impute sin.

  264. So that shows us that Jesus Christ even paid for our future sins.

  265. And a lot of people at the door, sometimes you ask him that question,

  266. right? Do you believe that Jesus paid for your sins?

  267. And they're going to say, of course, but then sometimes, you know,

  268. they wonder, you know, what if I were to kill myself?

  269. What if I were to go and commit murder or adultery?

  270. The Bible says that he paid for every single sin.

  271. So any sin that you could think of, you know, it would fall

  272. in under that category.

  273. He not only paid for the big sins, he paid for the smallest

  274. of sins, like a white lie.

  275. He paid for every single sin.

  276. And that's something that we have to understand.

  277. That's something that people have to believe and not just pay

  278. lip service to it, because the Bible literally teaches that

  279. that he paid for every single sin.

  280. Now go to Colossians chapter two, Colossians chapter two.

  281. And while you turn down, I'm going to read to you from first

  282. Peter two, it says in verse 24, who his own self bear our sins

  283. in his own body on the tree that we being dead to sins should

  284. live unto righteousness by whose stripes ye were healed.

  285. And so we can see here that our sins were placed on Jesus Christ

  286. on the cross and he paid for every single one of them.

  287. And that's why the Bible says that we're justified because

  288. when God looks down on us from heaven, he sees us just as

  289. if we never sinned.

  290. He sees us with the righteousness of Jesus Christ.

  291. The Bible also says in second Corinthians, who he had made

  292. sin for us, who knew no sin that we might be made the righteousness

  293. of a God in him.

  294. And so all our sins were placed on him.

  295. His righteousness, righteousness was placed on us.

  296. And so that's why when God sees us, we're deemed as righteous,

  297. we're saved.

  298. So in Colossians chapter two, you're there in Colossians

  299. chapter two, look down on your Bibles in verse number 13.

  300. The Bible says, and ye being dead in your sins and the

  301. uncircumcision of your flesh, had he quickened together with

  302. him, having forgiven you all trespasses, blotting out the

  303. handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was

  304. contrary to us and took it out of the way, nailing it to

  305. the cross.

  306. And so again, the Bible, this just reinforces that Jesus

  307. Christ paid for every single sin because it wouldn't make

  308. sense if he only paid for our passions because then we

  309. would still have to our pay for make atonement for our

  310. future sins.

  311. And we know that that's not possible because once we were

  312. sinners, you know, we're always going to sin.

  313. We're the Bible says there's not a just man upon, there's

  314. not a just man.

  315. That's it.

  316. How's the verse go?

  317. Nobody finished.

  318. Yeah, upon earth that sin is not doing good, right?

  319. So there's nobody in this world that can say that

  320. they've never sinned or does not sin.

  321. That's why it's very comical when we're at the door

  322. and then, you know, they say, well, I lied when I was

  323. a little kid, right?

  324. Is it like, don't you lie more sometimes as an adult?

  325. You know, sometimes people, because they fear getting

  326. in trouble at work or, you know, at home or kids, right?

  327. They just fear getting in trouble with their parents.

  328. Sometimes they resort to lying.

  329. And so it's impossible for anybody to say, you know, with

  330. a clear conscience that they don't lie at all.

  331. So they may not commit bigger sins, but at the end of

  332. the day, we still all lie, right?

  333. So you're so go with me to James chapter two.

  334. Go to me to James chapter two.

  335. I'm going to read to you a verse from the Old

  336. Testament that also talks about this.

  337. It says in Isaiah 53 verse six, it says, all we like sheep

  338. have gone astray.

  339. We have turned everyone to his own way and the Lord had

  340. laid on him the iniquity of us all.

  341. And so we know that Jesus Christ is the Lamb slain

  342. before the foundation of the world.

  343. So even before we were born, Jesus Christ already knew

  344. the sins that we would commit and he still paid for

  345. every single one of them.

  346. That's what the Bible says in Romans 5.8, but God

  347. commended his love toward us in that while we were

  348. yet sinners, Christ died for us.

  349. And that's a beautiful truth because we know and we

  350. have that confidence that there's no sin that we

  351. could ever commit after that we get saved or God

  352. would say, you know what, that's it, you know, I'm

  353. going to take your salvation away because that

  354. wouldn't make any sense.

  355. You know, that would be just temporal life.

  356. And if God were to do that, you know, that

  357. would, you know, that would prove that his

  358. promises were not true.

  359. Now James chapter two, if you're there in James

  360. chapter two, it says in verse 10, for whose

  361. service shall keep the whole law and yet offend?

  362. And look what it says in one point, he is guilty of

  363. all. So even if you were to try to commit the

  364. whole law, you know, I'm not going to steal, I'm

  365. not going to commit adultery, I'm not going to

  366. murder, I'm not going to cover my neighbor's

  367. wife, whatever you want to think of, you

  368. know, even if you were to stay away from all

  369. these sins, we still bear false witness

  370. sometimes, right?

  371. And we're guilty of all.

  372. So there's no sin.

  373. There's nothing, no day where we go where we

  374. don't sin, the Bible says that even the thought

  375. of foolishness is sin.

  376. And you know, I'll be the first one to admit, you

  377. know, sometimes throughout the day you have

  378. dumb thoughts, right?

  379. I mean, anybody else, right?

  380. But we all struggle with that, right?

  381. You have some dumb thoughts and the Bible

  382. says that even that is sin.

  383. So that just shows us that there's sins

  384. that we commit not only with our mind, not

  385. only with the things that we say, the

  386. things that we do, there are sins that

  387. we commit throughout the day that we're

  388. not even aware of.

  389. And if you've only been a church for a certain

  390. amount of time, you don't really know what

  391. the Bible teaches as far as like sins, right?

  392. There's a lot of things that sometimes you're

  393. in church and you hear about it for the

  394. first time, like long hair on men.

  395. How many people would think, you know, in

  396. the world today that long hair on man is

  397. a sin, but the Bible clearly teaches

  398. that that is a sin and that's something

  399. as men we have to steer away from, right?

  400. But you wouldn't know that unless you come

  401. to a church that actually preaches the

  402. whole counsel of God.

  403. And so what I'm trying to say here is

  404. that, you know, there's no moment in time

  405. where we're not going to sin.

  406. We're going to be sinners to the day

  407. that we die because we still have the

  408. flesh, we have the old man.

  409. But thanks to the promises of God, we

  410. know that he paid for every single sin.

  411. Now go with me if you will to

  412. go to Mark chapter one.

  413. Go to Mark chapter one.

  414. So the title of the sermon this morning

  415. is the importance of eternal security.

  416. Why eternal security matters?

  417. And the first point that I made is

  418. that eternal security proves one

  419. save always save.

  420. The second point that I made is that

  421. eternal security proves that Jesus

  422. Christ paid for every single sin.

  423. Now here's the next thing it proves.

  424. Eternal security proves that you don't

  425. have to turn away from your sins to

  426. be saved.

  427. And this is a heresy that we hear a

  428. lot today, right?

  429. That you have to turn from your sins.

  430. You have to be willing to turn from

  431. your sins.

  432. You have to, you know, you can't

  433. make a practice of sinners.

  434. All these ways that people try to

  435. twist it, but at the end of the

  436. day you will not find a verse in

  437. the Bible that says that you have to

  438. turn from your sins in order to be

  439. saved.

  440. Now to repent means obviously to

  441. have a change of mind, you know,

  442. change your mind about what you're

  443. trusting in and put your faith on

  444. Jesus Christ.

  445. And there's a lot of people today,

  446. you know, that they have bad language

  447. when it comes to this.

  448. You know, we do go to people at

  449. the doors and we tell them that

  450. they're sinners and they have to

  451. realize, you know, that they sin

  452. against God, that they need a savior.

  453. But we're not telling them, hey,

  454. you need to be willing to forsake

  455. your sins in order to be saved.

  456. That's a big difference right

  457. there.

  458. And unfortunately there's a lot of

  459. people in churches, in non-denoms,

  460. in all the old IV churches that

  461. give a pass to people that teach

  462. this and let that not be said

  463. that that's somebody like us.

  464. You know, that would be any of us

  465. right, giving a pass to people

  466. when they teach that you have to

  467. turn from your sins.

  468. Maybe you listen to somebody that

  469. says some good stuff, right,

  470. some good advice, but if they're

  471. teaching that you have to turn

  472. from your sins in order to be

  473. saved, they're a heretic.

  474. And so let me give you an example

  475. of one, probably the one of the

  476. most famous ones in the last

  477. couple of years, John MacArthur,

  478. right?

  479. John MacArthur is a false prophet

  480. and I thank God that he's burning

  481. in hell today.

  482. And that offends people

  483. sometimes because people like

  484. John MacArthur, right?

  485. He's been around for years.

  486. You have a brother Howells

  487. that preached against him.

  488. You have, you know,

  489. Roland Rasmussen preached against

  490. him. That guy's been around

  491. for years and, you know, he

  492. finally died.

  493. He's finally in hell.

  494. And unfortunately he left back a

  495. lot of books that are damning

  496. people to hell.

  497. And that's why it's important

  498. to preach against individuals

  499. like this.

  500. But listen to what he said in one

  501. of his books and just the title

  502. of the book itself should tell

  503. you, you know, it should show

  504. you red flags.

  505. The title of the book is hard

  506. to believe.

  507. Is that what we believe in a

  508. church? We don't, right?

  509. We believe that it's easy to

  510. believe. Easy believes it says

  511. him.

  512. And so John MacArthur in that

  513. book, it says salvation for

  514. sinners cost God his own

  515. son.

  516. It cost God his, it cost

  517. God's son his life and it'll

  518. cost you the same thing.

  519. So is that salvation us giving

  520. our life to Jesus Christ?

  521. No, it's not.

  522. You know, salvation is what

  523. Christ did for us.

  524. Not what we can do for him.

  525. It's not us giving our life to

  526. Jesus.

  527. It's the fact that Jesus Christ

  528. gave his life for us.

  529. And so John MacArthur is a

  530. heretic, you know, like I

  531. say, he's in hell right now

  532. and he'll be in hell for all

  533. eternity.

  534. And so this is a false gospel,

  535. the fact that you have to

  536. give your life to Jesus Christ

  537. and we shouldn't use language

  538. like that, you know, give your

  539. life to Christ, you know, be a

  540. follower of Jesus Christ.

  541. These are things obviously that

  542. we want to follow Jesus Christ,

  543. but that's not something that we

  544. do to get saved.

  545. So salvation is not again giving

  546. our life for Christ is what

  547. Christ did for us, the fact

  548. that he gave his life for us.

  549. Let me give you another

  550. example.

  551. And this is another false

  552. prophet who's still alive

  553. unfortunately, right?

  554. His name is Ray Comfort.

  555. I'm sure a lot of you have

  556. seen his videos, you know,

  557. the way of the master, all

  558. this stuff that he has and

  559. he's out there never getting

  560. people saved, right?

  561. He's out there supposedly

  562. soul winning and trying to show

  563. people how their sinners and

  564. this and that, but he never

  565. gets them saved.

  566. Why?

  567. Because he's not saved

  568. himself.

  569. And so he said in his book,

  570. it says, if you will repent

  571. of your sins and put your

  572. trust in Jesus, God says he

  573. will forgive you of all your

  574. sins and grant you the gift

  575. of everlasting life.

  576. And you can see how that's

  577. confusing to some people

  578. because it's saying that you

  579. have to trust in Jesus

  580. Christ.

  581. He'll give you the gift of

  582. everlasting life.

  583. But what does he start off

  584. if you repent of your sins?

  585. Now, what does he mean by

  586. that forsaking your sins?

  587. And that's not the gospel.

  588. You don't have to forsake

  589. your sins to be saved.

  590. Then he goes on to say, if

  591. you repent, that means to

  592. confess and forsake your

  593. sins.

  594. So in case there was any

  595. doubt, you know, I wonder

  596. what he means by this.

  597. He puts it in parentheses.

  598. He says, if you repent, that

  599. means to confess and

  600. forsake your sins and put

  601. your trust in Jesus, then

  602. you will not have to suffer

  603. God's justice in hell because

  604. the payment for your crimes

  605. was made by Jesus on the

  606. cross.

  607. And that's what he said.

  608. And that's a false narrative,

  609. right? The fact that you have

  610. to forsake your sin in order

  611. to be saved.

  612. You just have to believe on

  613. Jesus Christ.

  614. That's it.

  615. Now, you're there in Mark

  616. chapter one, look down on

  617. your Bible as a verse

  618. number four.

  619. The Bible says, John did

  620. baptize in the wilderness and

  621. preach the baptism of

  622. repentance for the remission

  623. of sins.

  624. And so here we see, obviously

  625. the word is used throughout

  626. the Bible of repenting.

  627. But we have to look at the

  628. context.

  629. You know, what does God

  630. mean by repenting in this

  631. passage?

  632. And they always bring up

  633. verses like that, having

  634. to repent and, you know,

  635. do and all this, but it's

  636. never in the context of

  637. salvation.

  638. And if we have to repent of

  639. our sins, you know, we have

  640. to ask the question, you

  641. know, what sins do we have

  642. to repent of?

  643. You know, is it the small

  644. sins?

  645. Is it the bigger sins?

  646. Is it like sins that I'm

  647. like continuously doing?

  648. You know, what, how many

  649. sins do I have to repent

  650. of?

  651. And that just shows you if

  652. you use some logic and

  653. common sense, it's

  654. impossible to forsake

  655. every single sin.

  656. Now go to 1st John

  657. chapter three, 1st John

  658. chapter three, I'm going to

  659. read to you from Acts 19

  660. verse four, that explains

  661. to us what the baptism of

  662. repentance is.

  663. And it says, then said Paul,

  664. John barely baptized with the

  665. baptism of repentance.

  666. And look what it says.

  667. It says, saying unto the

  668. people that they should

  669. believe on him, which

  670. should come after him, that

  671. is on Christ Jesus.

  672. So what was John the

  673. Baptist preaching?

  674. The same thing Baptist

  675. today are preaching,

  676. believing on the name of

  677. Jesus Christ.

  678. Now in 1st John chapter three,

  679. look down at your Bibles at

  680. verse number nine.

  681. It says, whosoever is born of

  682. God does not commit sin, for

  683. his seed remained within him

  684. and he cannot sin because

  685. he is born of God.

  686. Let me read to you from a

  687. modern version, not that I

  688. have it. This is the King

  689. James Bible.

  690. All right. I don't want to

  691. scare anybody.

  692. KJV.

  693. But let me read to you from

  694. the NIV and a lot of

  695. confusion comes because

  696. people use a false version

  697. of the Bible.

  698. That's why it's important to

  699. stick to the King James,

  700. the word of God in English.

  701. So in the NIV it says no one

  702. who who is born of God will

  703. continue to sin because

  704. God's seed remains in them.

  705. They cannot go on sinning

  706. because they have been born

  707. of God.

  708. The ESV, another false

  709. version says no one born

  710. of God makes a practice of

  711. sin for God's seed abides

  712. in him and he cannot keep

  713. on sinning because he has

  714. been born of God.

  715. And so that's why a lot of

  716. people today are mixed up

  717. when it comes to

  718. salvation because they're

  719. reading a false version.

  720. You know they read stuff like

  721. cannot make a practice of

  722. sin, cannot continue sinning.

  723. And salvation for one is not

  724. a process.

  725. Right.

  726. It's not that we're being

  727. saved like the New King James

  728. says we are saved.

  729. And that's why a lot of

  730. confusion comes from these

  731. modern versions because

  732. people think you know when

  733. it says born of God does

  734. not commit sin, of course

  735. we still sin right.

  736. But what it's referring to

  737. is that the spirit of God

  738. that lives within us,

  739. our new man does not

  740. commit sin.

  741. When we walk in the spirit

  742. the Bible says walk in the

  743. spirit and you should not

  744. fulfill the lust of the

  745. flesh.

  746. So we're in the spirit of

  747. course we're not sinning

  748. against God but we still

  749. have the old man.

  750. We still have the flesh.

  751. And you know there's a lot

  752. of podcasts out there

  753. that you know it's good

  754. for enjoyment in the sense

  755. of like you see what

  756. other people believe.

  757. And they always bring

  758. up this fact you know how

  759. can God still grant us

  760. eternal life if we

  761. continue sinning.

  762. I'm thinking of one of

  763. George Janko.

  764. I don't know some of you

  765. guys are familiar with it

  766. but he always has these

  767. heretics on there and he

  768. himself he's not saved

  769. because anytime you know

  770. he's talking about

  771. salvation he's always

  772. referring to how he

  773. still has to you know keep

  774. the commandments.

  775. He doesn't say straight out

  776. like that but that's what

  777. he implies.

  778. And so these

  779. podcasts when they talk

  780. about salvation being a

  781. gift salvation being only

  782. by believing they and

  783. then how even if you

  784. were to sin you would

  785. never lose it.

  786. What they forget to

  787. mention is the fact

  788. that we do have the new

  789. man obviously but we also

  790. have the old man still

  791. living with it within us.

  792. We still have the flesh

  793. with sinful desires

  794. and every day we have to

  795. choose whether or not we're

  796. going to walk in the spirit.

  797. You know the first thing

  798. that you do when you wake

  799. up in the morning you

  800. read your Bible you listen

  801. to hymns you come to church

  802. why so you could have a

  803. fighting chance to walk

  804. in the spirit to know

  805. what God wants from you.

  806. But if you're constantly

  807. just you know listening

  808. to worldly music

  809. watching worldly shows

  810. you know out in the

  811. work for you just making

  812. like all these bad jokes

  813. you're still going to

  814. be in the flesh you're

  815. still going to sin.

  816. The point I'm trying to

  817. make is that when the

  818. Bible says that the

  819. not commit sin is

  820. referring to our spirit.

  821. We don't sin with the

  822. new man now go to Romans

  823. chapter seven go to Romans

  824. chapter seven go to Romans

  825. chapter seven and over

  826. there look down at your

  827. Bible is in verse number

  828. 14. The Bible says for

  829. we know that the law is

  830. spiritual but I am carnal

  831. soul under sin for that

  832. which I do I allow not for

  833. what I would that do I

  834. not but what I hate that

  835. I do that do I if then

  836. I do that which I would

  837. not I can send it to the

  838. law that it is good now

  839. then it is no more I that

  840. do it but sin that dwelleth

  841. in me for I know that in

  842. me that is in my flesh

  843. dwelleth no good thing

  844. for to will is present with

  845. me but how to perform it

  846. that which is good I find

  847. not. Now I'm not going to

  848. repeat that because

  849. that's always a tongue

  850. twister for everybody but

  851. you know basically what

  852. Paul is saying is the

  853. show that we would all

  854. agree that we go through

  855. day to day the fact that

  856. the things that we want

  857. to do which are spiritual

  858. things we don't always

  859. do it right. I for

  860. well I don't always wake

  861. up with the desire you

  862. know every morning

  863. especially retired to

  864. read my Bible but you

  865. have to do it right. You

  866. don't always wake up with

  867. the desire of coming to

  868. church you know some of

  869. you guys look like you

  870. just roll out a bit

  871. and I'm just kidding but

  872. but you don't always

  873. wake up with that desire

  874. right. You know these

  875. are things that you have

  876. to purposely form that

  877. discipline and say you

  878. know what Sundays are

  879. for church right. These

  880. are things that the

  881. spiritual man desires but

  882. you know what the old

  883. man desires to sleep in

  884. right. It desires to just

  885. chill at home you know

  886. watch cartoons but you

  887. know just be you know

  888. just be lazy sometimes

  889. but the spirit you know

  890. desires good things. It

  891. desires to read the

  892. Bible. It desires to be

  893. among God's people. It

  894. desires to be in church

  895. to preach the gospel.

  896. These are all good

  897. things that the

  898. spiritual man has but

  899. we're not always in

  900. the spirit which is

  901. why we're not always

  902. doing them and so here

  903. we see the fact that

  904. even the greatest

  905. Christian some would

  906. say which is Paul he

  907. struggled with in himself

  908. and are we not a lot like

  909. Paul we struggle every day.

  910. You know this is a

  911. continued battle that

  912. we're going to have

  913. until we have our glorified

  914. body and so go with me

  915. if you would to John

  916. chapter one John

  917. chapter one I'm going to

  918. read to you from

  919. Galatians chapter five

  920. another verse that has

  921. to do with this. It says

  922. this I say then walk

  923. in the spirit and you

  924. should not fulfill

  925. the lust of the flesh

  926. for the flesh lusted

  927. against the spirit and

  928. the spirit against the

  929. flesh and these are

  930. contrary the one to the

  931. other so that you

  932. cannot do the things

  933. that you would and so

  934. we see there again

  935. that constant battle

  936. with between us.

  937. We have the flesh

  938. the spirit and their

  939. constant just battling

  940. within us and it's up

  941. to us to be in church

  942. to be able to have

  943. like I said that

  944. fighting chance to be

  945. able to renew our mind

  946. to know what God

  947. expects from us.

  948. That's why a lot of

  949. people you know they

  950. live their lives

  951. and they don't know

  952. what the Bible says

  953. they don't get

  954. godly counsel

  955. they're just living

  956. like the world you know

  957. there's no difference.

  958. You know when you look

  959. at their life

  960. and what they're doing

  961. their aspirations

  962. their dreams

  963. their goals

  964. there's no difference why

  965. because they haven't

  966. renewed their mind.

  967. They haven't

  968. brought themselves

  969. to think biblically

  970. and put their life

  971. and thinking

  972. and align with the Bible.

  973. Now you're there

  974. in John chapter

  975. one.

  976. Give me a second.

  977. John chapter one.

  978. We said the title

  979. of the sermon this morning

  980. is the importance

  981. of eternal security.

  982. The first point is

  983. that it proves

  984. one save what we save.

  985. Second it proves

  986. that Jesus

  987. paid for all our sins.

  988. It also proves

  989. that we don't have to turn

  990. from our sins to be saved.

  991. Here's the fourth thing

  992. that eternal security proves

  993. it proves that we are

  994. the children of God.

  995. Now here's the thing

  996. obviously we're all

  997. created by God

  998. but not everybody

  999. is a child of God

  1000. and the Bible

  1001. makes that very clear.

  1002. That's why I hate it.

  1003. Well you know

1004. you're not going to say

  1005. nothing at the door

  1006. but when they say

  1007. we're all brothers

  1008. you know we all

  1009. serve the same God

1010. if that guy is a Catholic

  1011. that ain't my brother.

  1012. Right.

1013. So in John chapter one

1014. look down at verse number 12

  1015. the Bible says

1016. but as many as receive them

1017. to them gave the power

1018. to become the sons of God

  1019. even to them

1020. that believe on his name.

1021. And again we see it over

  1022. and over again.

  1023. What's the requirement

  1024. believing on his name?

1025. And once we do that

  1026. the Bible says

  1027. that he gave power

1028. to become the sons of God.

1029. So it is at that moment

  1030. of salvation

  1031. that you become

  1032. a child of God.

1033. Go to Hebrews chapter 12

    Hebrews 12 chapter mention

1034. go to Hebrews chapter 12

    Hebrews 12 chapter mention

1035. I'm going to read to you

  1036. from 1st John chapter 3

    John 3 chapter mention

  1037. verse one says

1038. behold what manner of love

1039. the Father had bestowed upon us

1040. that we should be called

  1041. the sons of God

  1042. therefore the world

  1043. knoweth us not

1044. because it knew him not.

  1045. And so again

  1046. once you trust

  1047. in Jesus Christ

1048. you become a child of God

  1049. and because you're a child

  1050. of God

1051. now you're able to receive

  1052. that chastisement

  1053. from Jesus Christ.

  1054. Right.

  1055. Because the Bible says

  1056. in Hebrews 12

1057. look down to verse number 6

  1058. Hebrews 12 verse number 6

  1059. it says

1060. for whom the Lord loveth

  1061. he chastened it

  1062. and scourged every son

  1063. whom he received it.

  1064. And ye endure

  1065. if you endure chastening

1066. God dealeth with you as sons

1067. for what son is he

  1068. whom the Father chastened

  1069. if not.

  1070. But if ye be

  1071. without chastisement

  1072. whereof all are partakers

  1073. then are ye bastards

  1074. and not sons.

  1075. So if you're not

  1076. being chastised by God

  1077. it clearly says

  1078. whether you're bastards

  1079. right and not sons.

  1080. And God

  1081. being our heavenly Father

1082. he doesn't want to see us

1083. going down the wrong path.

1084. That's why if we were to get

  1085. involved in sin

1086. you know God will chastise you

  1087. God will discipline you

1088. you know spiritually spank you

  1089. to make sure

  1090. that you get back

  1091. on the right track.

  1092. And us as parents

1093. you know if you have children

1094. you know this to be true.

1095. You know we try to raise

1096. our children in such a way

1097. so that they could be

  1098. you know good kids.

1099. And the way that we do that

  1100. often requires spanks.

  1101. Right.

  1102. If they're doing something

  1103. that it's not right

  1104. if they're going down

1105. a bad path you know

1106. they're going to get spanked

1107. right so that they can do

  1108. what's right.

1109. It's not that we spank them

1110. as parents because you know

1111. oh I just hate this child

  1112. so much.

  1113. I'm just like

1114. give them a good one.

  1115. No you have love

  1116. for that child

1117. so that they can do

  1118. what's right.

1119. And our parents did that

  1120. with us.

1121. You know a lot of people

1122. hopefully in here grew up

  1123. getting spanked right.

1124. If you're in church today

1125. I'm pretty sure you got

  1126. spanked right.

  1127. Because people out there

  1128. are grown adults

  1129. who are spoiled brats

  1130. you know it's just

  1131. throwing fits acting

  1132. like little kids

  1133. I guarantee you

  1134. they weren't spanked

  1135. as a child.

  1136. And if they were

  1137. they probably weren't spanked

  1138. hard enough.

1139. So Hebrews 12 just shows us

  1140. because we're children

1141. of God we're going to get

  1142. disciplined and chastised

  1143. by God.

1144. Now go to Romans chapter 6

    Romans 6 chapter mention

  1145. Romans chapter 6

    Romans 6 chapter mention

1146. I'm going to read to you

  1147. from Psalm 89

  1148. Romans chapter 6

    Romans 6 chapter mention

  1149. you turn there

1150. it says in Psalm 89

    Psalms 89:30

  1151. verse 30

  1152. if his children forsake

  1153. my law and walk

  1154. not in my judgments

1155. if they break my statues

  1156. and keep not

  1157. my commandments

  1158. then will I visit

  1159. their transgression

  1160. with the rod

  1161. and their iniquity

  1162. with stripes

  1163. nevertheless

  1164. my loving kindness

  1165. will not

  1166. will I not utterly

  1167. take from him

  1168. nor suffer my faithfulness

  1169. to fail

1170. my covenant will I not break

  1171. nor alter the thing

1172. that has gone out of my lips

  1173. and so regardless

1174. if we sin or not

  1175. which we are

  1176. God will discipline us

1177. but what does it say

  1178. nevertheless

  1179. it says nevertheless

  1180. my loving kindness

  1181. why I not utterly

  1182. take from him

  1183. so even though

  1184. we're getting chastised

  1185. that's just God

  1186. showing us

  1187. that he loves us

1188. he wants us to do what's right

1189. why because we're his children

1190. but we will not lose our salvation

1191. we will not go to hell

1192. and the Bible teaches that

  1193. the children of God

  1194. if you're saved

1195. you know you do suffer consequences

1196. but the difference is this

  1197. that every consequence

1198. that we receive from God

1199. will be in this life

1200. will be in this earth

1201. and that's something that we always

1202. clear up at the doors

1203. and it makes sense for them

  1204. it clicks

  1205. you know because oftentimes

1206. if Jesus paid for our sins

  1207. and there's no sin

1208. that can send us to hell

1209. then you know what happens

  1210. that we sin

1211. if we're not going to hell

1212. that doesn't change the fact

1213. that we're still going to receive

  1214. consequences in this life

1215. and that helps people understand

  1216. like okay

  1217. that makes sense

  1218. because

1219. although I'm going to heaven

1220. you know I should still want to do

  1221. what's right

  1222. so I could avoid

  1223. getting spanked by God

1224. now the first thing I said

1225. the first point I made

  1226. is that eternal security

  1227. approves one same

  1228. while we save

1229. it proves that Jesus died

  1230. for every single sin

  1231. it proves that

1232. you know we don't have to turn

1233. from our sins to be saved

1234. and then lastly I said

1235. that it proves that we are

  1236. the children of God

1237. now here's the fifth thing it proves

  1238. eternal security proves

  1239. salvation is a gift

  1240. and not a reward

  1241. salvation is a gift

  1242. and not a reward

  1243. you're there in Romans chapter 6

    Romans 6 chapter mention

1244. familiar verse it says in verse 23

1245. for the wages of sin is death

1246. and then look at the second part

  1247. it says

1248. but the gift of God

  1249. is eternal life

1250. through Jesus Christ our Lord

1251. and so we know that God

1252. gives us the gift of eternal life

1253. and it's only through Jesus

1254. it's not through the church

1255. it's not through your baptism

1256. it's not through how well you keep

  1257. the commandments

  1258. it's through Jesus Christ

  1259. and it's sacrifice alone

1260. so God gives us that gift

1261. and like any other gift

1262. there's no conditions attached to it

1263. there's nothing that we can do

1264. or have to do in order to get it

1265. the Bible says right there

1266. but the gift of God

  1267. is eternal life

1268. through Jesus Christ our Lord

  1269. now go with me

1270. if you went to Romans chapter 4

    Romans 4 chapter mention

  1271. Romans chapter 4

    Romans 4 chapter mention

1272. and so obviously when we receive a gift

1273. even in an earthly sense

1274. if I were to give somebody a gift

1275. you know I'm the one that pays for it

  1276. okay

1277. and all you have to do is receive it

  1278. and the same way

1279. that's the way that God gives us that gift

1280. you know he paid for it

1281. by the death of his son on the cross

1282. and all we're doing is just receiving it

1283. by believing in his son

1284. now if you're there in Romans chapter 4

    Romans 4 chapter mention

1285. I'm gonna read to you from Romans chapter 5

    Romans 5 chapter mention

  1286. before going to

  1287. Romans chapter 5 verse 18 says

    Romans 5:18

1288. therefore as by the offense of one

1289. judgment came upon all men

  1290. to condemnation

1291. even so by the righteousness of one

1292. the free gift came upon all men

  1293. to justify

  1294. justification of life

1295. and if you're there in Romans chapter 4

    Romans 4 chapter mention

1296. look down on your Bibles in verse number 4

1297. it says now to him that worketh not

1298. sorry now to him that worketh

1299. is the reward not reckoned of grace

  1300. but of debt

1301. but to him that worketh not

1302. but believe it on him that justified the ungodly

1303. his faith is counted for righteousness

1304. and so we see the difference there

1305. if you're working for it

  1306. it's not a reward

  1307. it's not a gift it's a reward

1308. it's something that you earn

1309. by the things that you do

1310. and the Bible makes it clear that salvation

  1311. is not a reward it's a gift

1312. now granted we could get rewards

1313. if we serve Jesus Christ

  1314. right

1315. the Bible says in Ephesians 2 for by grace

1316. or you say through faith

  1317. and it says

1318. and that not of yourselves it is the gift of God

  1319. not of works

1320. let's any man should boast

1321. so I don't know how many times the Bible has to say

  1322. over and over again

1323. that salvation is not of works

1324. you know it's the gift of God

  1325. now go to

1326. with me if you would to Romans chapter 11

    Romans 11 chapter mention

  1327. Romans chapter 11

    Romans 11 chapter mention

1328. as I said a gift is something that's free

  1329. no conditions

  1330. it's unearned

1331. it's ours to keep no matter what

  1332. and as a believer

  1333. salvation being a gift

1334. you're still able to earn rewards

1335. by the things that you do

1336. you know anything that you do as unto the Lord

1337. I'm sure God will reward you

  1338. the Bible says

1339. in Ephesians 2 10 for we are his workmanship

  1340. created in Christ Jesus

  1341. unto good works

  1342. which God have

1343. before ordained that we should walk in them

1344. so of course God wants us to do works

1345. God wants us to serve them

  1346. but not for salvation

1347. you know anything that you do

1348. when you get people saved

1349. when you get people to gospel

1350. God will reward you for that

1351. and that makes God a great God

1352. because not only did he give us the gift of salvation

1353. for free without ever earning it

1354. but he's even willing to reward us

1355. for the things that we do after that

1356. so that's why it's important to get in a good church

1357. so that you're able to get equipped

  1358. to learn the Bible

1359. to learn how to preach the gospel

1360. so that you could earn some rewards

1361. and if you're in this church this morning

1362. and first of all if you're not saved

  1363. get saved today

  1364. but if you're saved

1365. you know it's time to earn some rewards

  1366. right

1367. you don't want to live a life without purpose

1368. without ever ever doing anything for God

1369. you know it would be a sad reality

1370. to go throughout your whole life

1371. and never getting one person saved

1372. you know we live in the year 2026

  1373. technology exists

1374. you know it removes a lot of excuses

1375. you know it's too hot outside

  1376. I'm tired I can't walk or whatever

1377. there's Omi TV nowadays right

1378. you can literally sew in

  1379. do missions online right

1380. you could get connected to somebody

1381. across the world in South Africa

  1382. across the states right

  1383. in any other state

1384. you know I'm thankful for people like brother T.J.

  1385. right who's a silent worker really

1386. he's been like on Omi for the longest

1387. and now he's pretty popular on there

1388. one of his videos went viral

1389. he got some South African rapper

  1390. saved

1391. and then I think next month

1392. he's going to go on tour with them

1393. but you know this is the work

1394. that he's getting done online

1395. and I like that video for several reasons

  1396. one because the haters

1397. no matter how hard they try to hate on it

  1398. they can't

  1399. right

1400. that video you know what it shows

1401. that we're thorough with our gospel presentation

1402. it shows that we're charitable

  1403. right

  1404. T.J. wasn't on there you know

1405. cussing him out calling him the N

  1406. we're nothing like that

1407. he was you know he had Matt

1408. yeah he was charitable right

1409. and he was thorough in his presentation

  1410. he wasn't sloppy

1411. he wasn't just trying to get him to pray

1412. like hey real quick you know

1413. let's just pray real quick

1414. so I could count him as a number

1415. because that's what they say right

1416. you know those South Asians even count

  1417. they do count

1418. you don't you think they don't count

  1419. because you don't believe

1420. right you don't believe in getting people saved

1421. and so I love that video

  1422. you know it shows

1423. somebody getting saved in real time

1424. and he didn't know that he was being recorded

  1425. right

  1426. and that's why it's important when you're

1427. all know me to be you know

  1428. abnormal

1429. you know be a good testimony of our church

  1430. now you're there in

1431. sorry I told you go to Romans chapter 11

    Romans 11 chapter mention

  1432. before I go there

1433. let me read to you from

  1434. Ephesians 10 to 10

1435. I'm going to read it for you again

1436. it says for we are his work

1437. we should create and cross Jesus

  1438. unto good works

1439. which God had before ordained

1440. that we should walk in them

1441. so again salvation is a gift

1442. anything that we do after that

1443. we will get rewarded for it

  1444. so eternal security proves

1445. number one that once you're saved

  1446. you're always saved

1447. I want you to remember that

1448. number two is that Jesus Christ

1449. paid for every single sin

  1450. number three is that

1451. it teaches us and it proves

1452. that we don't have to turn from our sins

  1453. to be saved

1454. and then it teaches us that

1455. we are the children of God

1456. it also teaches us right here

1457. that salvation is a gift

  1458. and not a reward

  1459. and lastly

  1460. eternal security proves

1461. that salvation is not of works

1462. and that's the most obvious one

1463. but that's important to always

  1464. you know hit on

1465. because we want to make it clear

1466. to everybody in our church

1467. that salvation is not based

  1468. on your works

  1469. anything like that

1470. you don't need works to get saved

1471. you don't need works to stay saved

1472. and you don't need works to prove

  1473. that you're saved

1474. right all you have to do is just

  1475. believe on Jesus Christ

1476. because a lot of people pay

1477. lip service to this that

1478. yeah of course salvation is not of works

1479. but if you don't have works

1480. are you really saved right

1481. then they do believe that it takes works

1482. and we got to be careful

1483. with how we word things

1484. you know just make it clear

1485. as the Bible makes it clear

  1486. not of works

  1487. as Annie mentioned both

  1488. for any reason

1489. now if you're there in Romans

    Romans 11 chapter mention

  1490. chapter 11

1491. look down verse number 6

  1492. the Bible says

  1493. and if by grace

1494. then it is no more of works

1495. otherwise grace is no more grace

1496. but if it be of works

1497. then is it no more grace

1498. otherwise work is no more work

1499. and so it's saying there

  1500. it can't be both

1501. it's either salvation is by works

1502. or salvation is by grace

  1503. if it's by grace

1504. then it's not of works

  1505. if it's by works

1506. then it's not of grace

1507. there's no other way to put it

1508. you know eternal security proves that

1509. that it's not of works

1510. because if it was based

  1511. on our works

1512. then we can't really know

  1513. if we're saved

  1514. can we?

  1515. how do you know

1516. when you've done enough works

  1517. how do you know

1518. when you've been good enough

  1519. and it's only because it's

  1520. reliant on the fact

  1521. that Jesus Christ paid

  1522. for every single sin

  1523. that we know

1524. that we have eternal life

1525. that's why it is good news

  1526. and people that don't

  1527. that believe that

1528. it's based on their works

  1529. they'll never know

1530. whether or not they're saved

1531. you could ask any one of them

  1532. any religion

  1533. you know do they

1534. are they 100% sure going to heaven

1535. they're not going to give you 100%

1536. and if they say 100% they're lying

1537. because when you ask them

1538. what do you trust in

1539. what do you believe it takes

  1540. they're going to say

  1541. well I'm a pretty good person

  1542. right?

  1543. so they don't believe

1544. that it's not of works

1545. and I'm thankful it's not of works

1546. because none of us would make it to heaven

1547. if it was based on that

1548. now go to Galatians chapter 2

    Galatians 2 chapter mention

  1549. Galatians chapter 2

    Galatians 2 chapter mention

  1550. and again

  1551. not of works

  1552. that includes

1553. it doesn't require you to be baptized

  1554. you should get baptized

  1555. after salvation

1556. but even if you were to not get baptized

1557. you would still go to heaven

1558. it's not based on church sacraments

  1559. it's not based on

1560. anything religious that you could think of

1561. it's definitely not based on the Eucharist

  1562. right

1563. it's just based on believing on Jesus Christ

1564. and I'm thankful God put

1565. you know the example of the thief on the cross

1566. the story of the thief on the cross

  1567. in the Bible

  1568. because that just

1569. disproves every single argument about it

1570. and they like to say

1571. well that's just an example

1572. you know that's the exception

  1573. not the rule

  1574. no that just proves

  1575. over and over again

  1576. what the Bible teaches

1577. that salvation is only by faith

1578. so in Galatians chapter 2

    Galatians 2:16

  1579. verse 16 it says

1580. knowing that a man is not justified

1581. by the works of the law

  1582. and it says

1583. but by the faith of Jesus Christ

1584. even we have believed in Jesus Christ

1585. that we might be justified

1586. by the faith of Christ

1587. and not by the works of the law

1588. for by the works of the law

1589. shall no flesh be justified

1590. and so how many other ways can it put it

1591. you know it's saying that we're not justified

1592. by the works of the law

  1593. but by the faith

1594. and it says we're justified by faith

1595. and not the works of the law

1596. so they just keep saying it over and over

1597. and it says for by the works of the law

1598. shall no flesh be justified

1599. And now I'm going to read to you from Romans 3 while I do that.

1600. Go to James chapter 2 and Romans 3 says to declare I say at this time his righteousness

    James 2 chapter mention

1601. that he might be just and the justifier of him which will leave it in Jesus.

  1602. Where is bolstering then?

1603. It is excluded by what law of works, nay, but by the law of faith.

1604. Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.

1605. Over and over again, without the deeds of the law, by faith.

1606. You're there in James chapter 2, look down at your bolster, verse number 26.

    James 2 chapter mention

1607. The bolster says, for as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

1608. And isn't this what people always bring up, you know, at the door, at your workplace,

1609. wherever you're trying to give the gospel, you know, when you say it's not a works?

1610. Yeah, but if you don't have works, you know, you have a dead faith.

1611. You don't have genuine faith.

1612. And people like using these terms like, oh, he doesn't have saving faith, you know,

1613. or if you're truly saved, you know, when they say things like that, they're relying on their works.

1614. And they like to pull out James 2, but we know that James 2 is not talking about salvation.

1615. First of all, it's talking about to the believer.

1616. And we know that our works do not justify us before God.

1617. It does justify us before men because they can't see our heart.

1618. But whether or not we have works, we still have faith.

  1619. It still exists.

  1620. It's just dead, right?

1621. So we should have works in order to help the brethren in order to earn rewards.

1622. But having no works does not prove that you don't have faith.

1623. Because the Bible clearly gives us an example of somebody in the Bible that had no works yet was saved.

1624. The Bible says in Romans 4, but to him that work is not, he had no works.

1625. But believe it on him that justified the engali.

1626. It says his faith is counted for righteousness.

1627. So even though James says they don't contradict each other, you know,

1628. we should have works to help our brethren.

1629. But even if we don't have works, God sees our heart.

1630. It says that our faith is what justifies us.

1631. And I go to Romans chapter 4.

    Romans 4 chapter mention

1632. I want to read to you some verses there.

1633. I'm going to read to you from Titus 3.5, reinforcing this.

1634. It says, not by works of righteousness, which we have done,

1635. but according to his mercy, he saved us by the washing of generation and renewing of the Holy Ghost.

1636. So again, it says, not by works of righteousness, which we have done,

1637. but according to his mercy, he saved us.

1638. In Romans 4, look down here in your Bible, verse number 2.

1639. It says, for if Abraham were justified by works, he had wear of to glory, but not before God.

1640. For what saved the Scripture, Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.

1641. And then it goes on to the verse that we said, but to him that work is not,

1642. but believe it on him that just the engali, his faith is counted for righteousness.

1643. So I think that makes it very clear that it's not of works.

1644. There's so many verses in the Bible that you could prove to people that it's not of works.

1645. And at the end of the day, it's just common sense.

1646. It's logic. It's just taking the Bible at face value.

1647. And it's not that they don't understand it. They just don't want to believe it.

1648. Now, go to 1 John chapter 5.

    1 John 5 chapter mention

1649. So again, the title of the sermon this morning was the importance of eternal security.

1650. And this is an important doctrine. It's something that we constantly have to hit on,

1651. because we don't want to be a church where we have people who are mixed up,

1652. you know, in their doctrine, in their language. We want to make it clear that

1653. eternal security means one save always save.

1654. You know, the first thing it proves is that you cannot lose your salvation.

1655. One save always save. It proves that Jesus paid for our sins.

1656. It proves that we don't have to turn from our sins to be saved.

1657. It also proves that we are the children of God.

1658. It proves that salvation is a gift and not a reward.

1659. And it proves that salvation is not a works.

1660. That's only the beginning. I did have a bonus point, which is the seventh point.

1661. And this is what happens if you deny eternal security.

1662. If you deny eternal security, that tells God that you don't believe what he said.

1663. That tells God that you think he's a liar.

1664. You think he's a bull face liar.

1665. You're making God a liar if you deny eternal security.

1666. And you don't want to do that, right?

1667. When people, you know, you listen to people that just deny

1668. once they've always saved, it's not only that they're denying it.

  1669. They're calling God a liar, right?

1670. And you know that God is not a man that he should lie.

1671. And in 1 John chapter 5, look down here, Bible is in verse number 10.

    1 John 5 chapter mention

  1672. It says,

1673. He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself,

1674. and he that believeth not God had made him a liar,

1675. because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.

1676. And this is the record that God hath given to us eternal life,

1677. and his life is in his Son.

1678. He that hath the Son hath life,

1679. and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.

1680. And so we see here that if you deny eternal security,

1681. you're not believing the record that God gave of his Son.

1682. You're telling God, you know, I don't believe you,

1683. you know, I don't believe your promise.

1684. I don't believe that Jesus paid for all my sins.

1685. You know, I don't believe that I'm held in your hand.

  1686. You're making him a liar.

1687. And God loved us enough, as the Bible says,

1688. for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son,

1689. that whosoever believeth in him should not perish,

  1690. but have everlasting life.

1691. But if you deny eternal security,

1692. you're saying, no, that's not true, right?

  1693. You're denying those verses.

1694. You're denying he that believeth on the Son

  1695. hath everlasting life,

1696. he that believeth not the Son shall not see life,

1697. but the wrath of God abideth on him.

1698. You're calling God a liar by denying eternal security.

1699. It's not a place that you want to be at,

1700. because in order to be saved,

1701. you do have to believe that it's forever.

1702. If you deny eternal security, you're not saved.

1703. You don't have eternal life.

  1704. You're making God a liar.

1705. Now Titus 1, 2 tells us in hope of eternal life,

1706. which God that cannot lie promised before the world began.

  1707. So you're calling him a liar.

1708. You're not believing the promises that he made to us.

1709. And so if you were to deny that, again, you're not saved.

1710. If you don't believe in once they've always saved,

1711. you know, you get that right today.

1712. If you're visiting today and you're just here,

1713. you know, in town or whatever,

1714. you know, get saved today.

1715. You don't want to go on in life,

1716. not knowing where you're going to go when you die.

1717. Where we started, the Bible clearly said that

1718. these things have written unto you

1719. that believe on the name of the Son of God

1720. that you may know that you have eternal life.

1721. So salvation is something that you can get settled today.

1722. It's something that you can know for sure,

1723. whether or not you're going to go to heaven.

1724. And it's something that has been promised to us.

  1725. All right.

1726. And lastly is this, that those are the things

  1727. that eternal security proves,

1728. the fact that, you know, he paid for all our sins.

  1729. We're his children.

1730. We don't have to repent, turn from our sins to be saved.

1731. And salvation is clearly a gift and not a reward.

1732. And when you're out there, I just want to encourage you,

  1733. always emphasize eternal security

1734. because we want to make sure that people are getting saved.

  1735. All right.

1736. We don't want to just avoid that

1737. and people not knowing whether or not it's forever.

1738. We want to make it clear eternal life means eternal.

  1739. Let's pray.

1740. Heavenly Father, Lord, thank you for this day.

1741. Thank you for all the things that you do

1742. and for the promise of salvation, Lord,

1743. that you give unto us.

1744. I thank you, Lord, that the Bible makes it clear

1745. that we can know that we're saved

1746. and that we have your promises.

1747. And we believe your promises, Lord,

1748. that you were able to be kept by your hand

1749. and by your power, Lord.

1750. I pray that you continue to use this, Lord,

1751. to reach the people of Anaheim and the city surrounding it.

1752. And I pray, Lord, that you continue to use our church

  1753. in a mighty way.

1754. Please bless our pastor and the remainder of our day.

  1755. In Jesus' name, amen.
