  1. Amen.

  2. Okay, the title of my sermon this morning is Genuine Love, Having Genuine Love.

  3. Second Corinthians chapter 4, excuse me, 6 verse 4 says,

    2 Corinthians 4 chapter mention

  4. But in all things, approving ourselves as the ministers of God in much patience and afflictions

  5. and necessities and distresses and stripes and imprisonments and tumults

  6. and labors and watchings and fastings by pureness, by knowledge, by long suffering, by kindness,

  7. by the Holy Ghost, and I want you to notice this, by love unfaigned.

  8. Now, what does it mean to have love unfaigned or what is unfaigned love?

  9. It means real love.

  10. Famed love is fake love.

  11. It's dissimulated love.

  12. It's a false love.

  13. And the Bible is telling us here that we as God's people should be approved as the ministers of God,

  14. the servants of God, by having these list of qualities.

  15. And one of the things that it says here is that we need to make sure that we have genuine, sincere love.

  16. Genuine, sincere love towards the Lord, towards others, towards our brothers and sisters in Christ,

  17. towards the lost.

  18. We should be characterized by a genuine love according to the Bible.

  19. First Timothy chapter 5, you don't have to turn there.

    1 Timothy 5 chapter mention

  20. Stay there in 2 Corinthians.

  21. First Timothy 5 verse 1 says,

    1 Timothy 5:1

  22. Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart

  23. and of a good conscience and of faith unfaigned.

  24. Romans chapter 12 verse 9 says this,

    Romans 12:9

  25. Listen, let love be without dissimulation.

  26. Abhor that which is evil, cleave to that which is good.

  27. What is he saying here?

  28. He's saying in Romans chapter 12,

    Romans 12 chapter mention

  29. Make sure that your love isn't fake.

  30. It's not just this insincere love where you're just faking the whole thing.

  31. It's simulated.

  32. Make sure that your love is without dissimulation.

  33. And I want you to notice that it says,

  34. Abhor that which is evil.

  35. Meaning that this is showing us that some people claim to have love,

  36. but they also love that which is evil.

  37. Whereas the Bible tells us that if we're going to have a sincere,

  38. genuine love towards the things of God, towards others,

  39. it merits us to abhor hate, despise that which is evil according to the Bible.

  40. It goes on to say,

  41. Be kindly affection one to another with brotherly love

  42. in honor, preferring one another.

  43. You know, obviously what the Bible is telling us here

  44. is that we as God's people need to make sure that we have love.

  45. And love is obviously a fruit of the spirit.

  46. We know that God is love.

  47. And so it's important for us to learn how to love.

  48. We obviously know that the Bible tells us that once we get saved,

  49. we become children of God.

  50. We're taught of God how to love.

  51. But that doesn't mean that we're not supposed to abound

  52. and grow in our love as well

  53. and learn how to become loving individuals.

  54. Now, why is a sermon like this important?

  55. Well, because of the fact that this world,

  56. you know, lukewarm Christians,

  57. compromising Christians are always defining for us

  58. what it means to love.

  59. Fake churches out there, fake pastors and fake preachers

  60. are constantly condemning Christians

  61. for their so-called lack of love.

  62. Oh, these people are not loving.

  63. Your preaching is not loving.

  64. That doctrine is not loving.

  65. You're just not loving enough.

  66. No, actually, you just have a fake definition of what love is.

  67. You actually just don't know what the Bible says

  68. about what it means to love others.

  69. And we have to stop allowing these internet-type people,

  70. these fake pastors, these insincere individuals

  71. to try to define for us what it means to love.

  72. And for sure, we need to stop letting unsaved people

  73. define for us what love is, right?

  74. You know, and unsaved, oh man, that's very Christ-like.

  75. You don't even know who Jesus is.

  76. How are you going to tell me what it's like to be like Christ

  77. when you've rejected him?

  78. You claim you don't even believe in him,

  79. but somehow you're going to hold me to that standard

  80. even though you have no idea who Jesus is?

  81. You've never read the Bible.

  82. You don't know any doctrine.

  83. You don't believe in God,

  84. but yet you're going to tell me that I'm not Christ-like?

  85. Oh, what would Jesus do?

  86. He would do exactly what I'm doing.

  87. And so, you know, the Bible says that we have the mind of Christ.

  88. The Bible tells us that the natural man

  89. referring to the unsaved person

  90. received not the things of the Spirit of God,

  91. neither can he know them for their spiritually discerned.

  92. They should not take the covenant of God in their mouths

  93. and try to condemn us, ask Christians and say,

  94. well, you know, that's very loving as a Christian.

  95. Yeah, actually it is very loving as a Christian,

  96. but you wouldn't know that because you haven't read the Bible.

  97. You know what?

  98. I'm not going to allow unsaved people to tell me

  99. what it means to love someone,

  100. what love means because at the end of the day,

  101. my God is love.

  102. And he's taught me within his word

  103. what that means and how that looks.

  104. And so, you know, if you've gone to these weak,

  105. you know, limp-wristed type churches,

  106. these soft churches,

  107. you probably have been infected with this fake love.

  108. You probably have been demonstrated fake love.

  109. You've been preached out with fake love.

  110. You've been fellowshiped with fake love.

  111. Maybe you might have a little fake love yourself.

  112. You might have some sort of fake love in you

  113. and it's my agenda today

  114. to remove that fake love from you

  115. and teach you what it's like to have genuine love

  116. according to the Bible.

  117. Now, you're in 2 Corinthians chapter 6.

    2 Corinthians 6 chapter mention

  118. Go to chapter 7 if you would.

  119. Chapter 7, we're going to talk about genuine,

  120. sincere love today.

  121. And look, folks, obviously I understand

  122. that sometimes Christians can become,

  123. you know, quote-unquote,

  124. fairesthaecal.

  125. They can lack love.

  126. They can't struggle in that area for sure.

  127. You know, if a Christian is not walking in the spirit,

  128. they're not reading the Word of God.

  129. They're not fellowshiping with the Lord.

  130. They can, you know, become cold-hearted

  131. towards others, towards the things of God.

  132. Okay?

  133. And at the end of the day,

  134. we need to make sure that we grow in our love.

  135. Yeah, we have love in our hearts because of God.

  136. But you know what?

  137. The Bible also requires for us to grow in that area,

  138. to cultivate that love as well

  139. and work on it on a daily basis.

  140. Now, the first point I want to make here

  141. regarding genuine love is that genuine love,

  142. listen to this, is an emotion.

  143. Okay?

  144. We don't want to go so far in the opposite extreme

  145. and think to ourselves,

  146. well, no, the Bible says other things about love

  147. doesn't have to be an emotion.

  148. No, actually, according to the Bible,

  149. it is an emotion.

  150. The Bible tells us to love the Lord thy God

  151. with all thy heart, soul, mind,

  152. and strength, right?

  153. It talks about loving God with our hearts

  154. and with our strength,

  155. meaning that God wants us to be emotionally involved

  156. when we love God and when we love others.

  157. Not just be this robot,

  158. this person who's just emotionless,

  159. just despondent towards others and towards God.

  160. He wants us to have some emotion when we're praying,

  161. some emotion when we're talking to others.

  162. He wants us to have that genuine love

  163. that exerts that emotion.

  164. Look at 2 Corinthians 7, verse 14 says,

    2 Corinthians 7:14

  165. For if I have boasted anything to him of you,

  166. I am not ashamed.

  167. But as we spake all things to you in truth,

  168. even so our boasting,

  169. which I made before Titus,

  170. is found a truth.

  171. And his inward, listen to this,

  172. his inward affection is more abundant toward you

  173. whilst he remembered the obedience of you all,

  174. how with fear and trembling,

  175. ye received him.

  176. What is the Bible telling us here?

  177. It's telling us that Titus,

  178. when he's reporting about the church at Corinth,

  179. as carnal as they were,

  180. as immature spiritually as they were,

  181. he had this inward affection

  182. towards the Corinthian church.

  183. And obviously what we see here

  184. is that Titus, because he's spending time

  185. with the Corinthian church,

  186. he's helping them grow in their faith.

  187. He's leading them.

  188. He's reporting about them.

  189. He's thinking about them.

  190. He ends up developing a love for them.

  191. And what does this show us?

  192. If you have a hard time loving someone,

  193. just spend some time with them.

  194. Invest time in that which you're lacking love in.

  195. You know what happens?

  196. You end up cultivating a love for that person,

  197. for that thing.

  198. You're like, I don't love church.

  199. We'll spend time in church.

  200. And the more you do,

  201. you end up developing a love for that.

  202. Oh man, I have such a hard time loving the Word of God.

  203. Well, invest some time into reading the Word of God

  204. every single day.

  205. And what's going to happen is

  206. you're going to develop a love for the Word of God.

  207. How about this?

  208. In marriage.

  209. Oh man, I don't feel like I'm in love anymore.

  210. Why don't you spend some time developing that relationship,

  211. investing in your marriage,

  212. and guess what will happen?

  213. You'll fall in love again.

  214. And then you'll fall out again.

  215. And then you'll fall in love again.

  216. And then you'll fall out again.

  217. It's just part of how marriage is.

  218. You're not going to be in love 100% of the time.

  219. It's just not realistic.

  220. Because we are sinners.

  221. We fall short.

  222. Our spouses fall short.

  223. They can annoy us.

  224. We annoy them.

  225. We have characteristics and attributes

  226. that they may not like.

  227. But here's the thing,

  228. is that the more we invest into that relationship,

  229. the more we can keep that flame going.

  230. That inward affection is what keeps it going.

  231. The point being here is that love is,

  232. genuine love is an emotion.

  233. Genuine love is expressed through affection.

  234. Genuine love is expressed through tears.

  235. Genuine love is expressed through wanting to be

  236. in the presence of that individual

  237. that we care for and have love for as well.

  238. You don't have to turn to 1 John 4.

  239. But go with me if you would to 1 Peter 3.

  240. We saw that in 2 Corinthians 7,

  241. Titus had an inward affection

  242. towards the believers.

  243. We can say that he had sincere love

  244. for the brethren.

  245. I don't really like to go to church

  246. because I just don't really click

  247. with people at church.

  248. You don't click with people at church

  249. because you just leave church

  250. as soon as it ends.

  251. You don't give anybody time to click.

  252. You unclick as soon as church ends.

  253. I like to preach it and everything.

  254. I'm not really a people person.

  255. You know what, as a Christian,

  256. you don't really have that luxury now, do you?

  257. Because the Bible commands us to be people people.

  258. We're supposed to be around people,

  259. fellowship with people.

  260. If you're like, yeah,

  261. but I just don't know what to talk about,

  262. trust me, in a church this size,

  263. you will find someone as weird as you.

  264. You can click with.

  265. You can talk to.

  266. There's a bunch of them.

  267. The end result of that will be what?

  268. An inward affection for others.

  269. Make no mistake about it.

  270. God commands you to love the brethren.

  271. Part of that, of course,

  272. is having that affection for them as well.

  273. First John 4, you don't have to turn there.

  274. You are in 1 Peter 3.

  275. John 4.7 says,

  276. Beloved, let us love one another.

  277. For love is of God.

  278. Everyone that loveth is born of God

  279. and knoweth God.

  280. This is showing us that one of the first things

  281. that we learn as Christians,

  282. when we get saved is what?

  283. To love.

  284. More specifically, to love the brethren.

  285. Why?

  286. For God is love.

  287. He says in verse 8,

  288. he that loveth not,

  289. knoweth not God,

  290. for God is love.

  291. Basically, the fundamental attribute,

  292. divine characteristic that we get

  293. at the moment of salvation is love.

  294. Now this kind of flies in the face

  295. of those who think,

  296. well, you know,

  297. you have to love God to be saved

  298. or something like that.

  299. No, you have to believe on Jesus Christ

  300. to be saved.

  301. Okay?

  302. Unsafe people don't know how to love God.

  303. You know, Christians barely know how

  304. to love God, right?

  305. Because you have to learn from the word of God.

  306. But the initial thing that we learn,

  307. the initial thing that is given to us

  308. is the love of God.

  309. And it's our job thereafter

  310. to develop, to cultivate that

  311. for the Lord and for others.

  312. It goes on the same verse 9.

  313. And this was manifested

  314. the love of God toward us

  315. because God sent his only begotten son

  316. into the world that we might live through him

  317. here in his love,

  318. not that we love God,

  319. but that he loved us

  320. and sent his son to be the

  321. propitiation for our sins.

  322. Beloved, if God so loved us,

  323. we ought also to love one another.

  324. This is nice and mushy, amen.

  325. No man has seen God in any time.

  326. If we love one another,

  327. God dwelleth in us

  328. and his love is perfected in us.

  329. This is obviously demonstrating

  330. that we should never have hatred

  331. towards the brethren.

  332. And let me just be very clear.

  333. The brethren.

  334. Meaning those who are saved, right?

  335. Actual Christians.

  336. Because sometimes it's just like,

  337. oh yeah, but I saw a video of you

  338. saying some pretty crazy stuff

  339. about this one pastor.

  340. Yeah, it's probably because

  341. he's a false prophet.

  342. He's probably not saved.

  343. And I can't love those who love evil.

  344. The Bible commands me to love the brethren.

  345. And when we talk about the brethren,

  346. we're referring to people who are saved.

  347. And when I talk about people who are saved,

  348. I'm talking about people who have believed

  349. on the Lord Jesus Christ

  350. exclusively for salvation.

  351. Now repenting of your sins for salvation.

  352. Not baptism for salvation.

  353. Not the keeping of commands for salvation.

  354. Not works for salvation.

  355. We're just talking about believing

  356. on Jesus Christ.

  357. And it's not believing on Jesus Christ

  358. plus something else either.

  359. So why believe in Jesus?

  360. But I do believe that you have to,

  361. oh, you're not saved.

  362. Because now you're adding something

  363. to your faith in Jesus Christ

  364. and the Bible tells us,

  365. and if by grace there is no more of works,

  366. otherwise grace is no more grace.

  367. Romans 11-6.

  368. So when the Bible talks about brethren,

  369. don't take that label

  370. and place it upon just anything

  371. that calls itself a Christian.

  372. And look, we need to wake up here

  373. and recognize that not everyone

  374. on the internet calls themselves

  375. the Christian are actually Christians.

  376. I.e. Catholics.

  377. Oh, there are brothers.

  378. No, they're not.

  379. They worship Mary.

  380. They believe in a workspace salvation.

  381. I heard they were the first Christians.

  382. They might have been the first Christians

  383. that went apostate.

  384. I'll give you that.

  385. But just because something calls itself

  386. a Christian, a believer,

  387. doesn't mean it's true.

  388. We need to make sure

  389. that we prove all things,

  390. hold fast that which is good,

  391. that we test people

  392. based upon what they profess to believe.

  393. And if a person claims to believe

  394. in salvation and they assert

  395. that salvation is anything else

  396. other than through their faith

  397. in Jesus Christ,

  398. mark it down.

  399. They're not saved.

  400. Oh, are you allowed to save?

  401. People are not.

  402. Yeah.

  403. You know, the Apostle Paul said,

  404. I'm afraid of you.

  405. What is he saying?

  406. I'm worried that you're probably

  407. not even saved.

  408. That's what he told the Galatians

  409. in Galatians chapter two.

  410. It's important for us to recognize

  411. that when we talk about the brethren,

  412. we're talking about those

  413. who have placed their faith

  414. exclusively upon Christ

  415. for salvation, folks.

  416. And look, if you're not 100%

  417. sure that if you die today

  418. that you'd go to heaven,

  419. if you fall into

  420. the category in the camp

  421. that I just described for you,

  422. you need to get saved today.

  423. Oh, I thought baptism

  424. saves you, though.

  425. Well, that's funny.

  426. What happened to the thief on the cross?

  427. Today, thou shalt be with me in paradise,

  428. and he didn't come down from the cross

  429. and get baptized.

  430. The Bible tells us,

  431. therefore, we conclude

  432. that a man is justified by faith.

  433. Listen to this,

  434. without the deeds of the law.

  435. There's your faith alone, by the way.

  436. Without the deeds of the law.

  437. I mean, by faith alone.

  438. And so the point being here

  439. is that we are to love the brethren.

  440. That's what the Bible teaches us.

  441. But obviously we know

  442. we're supposed to love

  443. unsafe people as well

  444. enough that we would go

  445. and give them the gospel.

  446. Okay?

  447. Now, you're in 1 Peter chapter 3.

    1 Peter 3 chapter mention

  448. Let me read you one more verse

  449. before we get into chapter 3.

  450. 1 Peter chapter 122 says,

  451. Seeing ye have purified your souls

  452. and obeying the truth through the Spirit.

  453. Unto unfaigned love of the brethren,

  454. see that ye love one another

  455. with a pure heart.

  456. Listen to this, fervently.

  457. So the Bible says

  458. that we should have a sincere love

  459. for our brothers and sisters in Christ.

  460. And it communicates that

  461. by talking about a pure heart,

  462. unfaigned love.

  463. But then it says

  464. we should be fervent about it.

  465. Now, what does that mean?

  466. What's another word for fervent?

  467. Passionate.

  468. You should be passionately

  469. loving the brethren.

  470. Okay?

  471. Meaning that we should, you know,

  472. we should favor

  473. our brothers and sisters in Christ.

  474. Let us do good unto all men,

  475. especially those

  476. of the household of faith.

  477. The Bible tells us.

  478. And so what do we see here?

  479. Genuine love is an emotion.

  480. And specifically when we see it as an emotion,

  481. we see that it should be geared towards

  482. the brethren,

  483. that we should have fervent love,

  484. unfaigned, pure love

  485. towards our brothers and sisters in Christ.

  486. Look at 1 Peter chapter 3.

    1 Peter 3 chapter mention

  487. Verse 7 says,

  488. Likewise ye husbands,

  489. dwell with them according to knowledge,

  490. giving honor unto the wife,

  491. as unto the weaker vessel.

  492. And as being heirs together with the grace of life,

  493. that your prayers be not hindered.

  494. Of course, 1 Peter chapter 3,

    1 Peter 3 chapter mention

  495. the initial part of 1 Peter 3,

  496. are instructions for husbands and wives.

  497. And of course, the first part talks about

  498. the fact that a wife should be in subjection

  499. to her husband,

  500. submit to her husband,

  501. that he is essentially the boss.

  502. Right?

  503. And it goes on to say that the husband

  504. should likewise give honor unto the wife.

  505. Why?

  506. Because according to the Bible,

  507. she is the weaker vessel.

  508. Okay?

  509. She's weaker emotionally.

  510. She's weaker physically.

  511. And in some cases,

  512. she is weaker spiritually.

  513. Okay?

  514. Which is why Eve, you know,

  515. was deceived by Satan.

  516. So he says, you know,

  517. we need to honor them,

  518. dwell with them according to knowledge.

  519. And what happens when you have this harmony

  520. within the home?

  521. What happens when the wife

  522. submits unto her husband,

  523. and the husband honors his wife?

  524. Well, the latter part of verse 7 says this,

  525. that your prayers be not hindered.

  526. So if you want a life hack

  527. for prayers in your marriage,

  528. get this,

  529. have harmony in your home.

  530. Make sure that you're living in accordance to

  531. the structure of the Bible

  532. when it comes to marriage.

  533. And what happens is

  534. you will get your prayers answered.

  535. If not, your prayers can be hindered.

  536. Your petitions will not be answered

  537. because you have no harmony in the home.

  538. Verse 8 says,

  539. finally, be all of one mind.

  540. This is another way of saying,

  541. be on the same page.

  542. Okay?

  543. Having compassion one for another.

  544. And I want you to notice this,

  545. love as brethren,

  546. be pitiful, be courteous.

  547. Now, this is obviously addressing,

  548. you know, husbands and wives,

  549. but this is very much applicable

  550. all across the board to just Christians in general.

  551. Right?

  552. You know, to love as brethren,

  553. what does that mean?

  554. It means you should be friends.

  555. Okay?

  556. You know, my wife and I, yes.

  557. She's my wife.

  558. I'm her husband.

  559. But guess what?

  560. We're friends too.

  561. You know what we do as friends?

  562. We cut up.

  563. We laugh together.

  564. I make fun of her.

  565. She tries to make fun of me,

  566. but she's not as funny.

  567. You know, we cut up.

  568. We laugh.

  569. We joke.

  570. We cry.

  571. We are like friends.

  572. And so obviously the Bible promotes

  573. friendships and Christianity.

  574. And the Bible tells us that when we have

  575. this sincere, pure, genuine love

  576. one toward another,

  577. the result of that is that

  578. we end up loving as brethren.

  579. We end up being like good, close friends.

  580. And the byproduct of that

  581. is that we are pitiful one toward another.

  582. So what does it mean to be a friend?

  583. It means that you have sincere love

  584. and you pity someone

  585. when they're going through a hard time.

  586. You're courteous towards them.

  587. You favor them.

  588. You mind what they're going through

  589. more than yourself.

  590. You put their needs

  591. and their desires above your own.

  592. This is what it means to have

  593. sincere love.

  594. Look what it goes on the same verse 9.

  595. Not rendering evil for evil.

  596. You know what that means?

  597. We shouldn't be vengeful

  598. towards other Christians.

  599. Right?

  600. We should not have vengeance

  601. towards other Christians.

  602. If someone in our church wrongs you

  603. or does, you know,

  604. offends you or whatever it may be,

  605. you know, the Bible says

  606. that the answer for you,

  607. the solution for you,

  608. should not be to render evil back.

  609. Right?

  610. Okay?

  611. Because genuine love,

  612. forgiveness, genuine love is pitiful.

  613. It's courteous.

  614. It doesn't render evil for evil.

  615. Listen to this.

  616. Or railing for railing.

  617. What is railing?

  618. It means lying, slander.

  619. You should not have vengeance

  620. towards someone

  621. and lie about them

  622. because they lied about you.

  623. Okay?

  624. The point being here is

  625. that genuine love is not vengeful.

  626. He says,

  627. but contrary to wise blessing,

  628. knowing that you are called there unto,

  629. that you should inherit a blessing.

  630. Turn with me if you would.

  631. Go to 1 John 3.

  632. 1 John 3.

  633. We're talking about genuine love this morning.

  634. Genuine love is an emotion.

  635. Inward affection.

  636. Don't be despondent

  637. emotionally towards others.

  638. Now, I get it.

  639. You know what I mean?

  640. Maybe to some of us,

  641. that doesn't necessarily come as easy.

  642. We're kind of stoic

  643. or we try to act like we're stoic.

  644. Other people are just a lot more easy

  645. to become emotional with people

  646. and just have that visible affection

  647. towards others.

  648. We should try to meet people

  649. in the middle though, right?

  650. To some people,

  651. when they're just overly affectionate,

  652. you need to chill out a little bit.

  653. You're just a touchy type.

  654. But if you're a dude,

  655. go hug a dude

  656. and you don't have to be hugging the ladies.

  657. And vice versa.

  658. Oh, but I got inward affection.

  659. Yeah, I bet you do.

  660. Obviously, this is with the...

  661. the rules should be

  662. that we should be appropriate.

  663. The point being here

  664. is that genuine love is an emotion.

  665. We don't want to disregard that

  666. or think that love,

  667. according to the Bible,

  668. this is the exception.

  669. We don't have to be emotional

  670. about this stuff.

  671. And to a certain degree,

  672. I kind of felt like that

  673. for a while

  674. because of the fact

  675. that I've seen so much fake...

  676. so much fakeness in churches

  677. amongst Christians

  678. where they had this visible,

  679. emotional love towards God.

  680. But they were super off-doctrinally.

  681. They didn't have love for souls.

  682. They didn't have love for the truth.

  683. And so it's just like,

  684. well, this is just fake.

  685. You act like you...

  686. you draw on nines of God

  687. with your lips,

  688. but your heart is far from him.

  689. You're acting like you love God.

  690. You're acting like you love the Word of God.

  691. But when you're given the truth,

  692. you reject it.

  693. That's not real love.

  694. That's a fake love.

  695. And so just seeing that for years on end

  696. kind of gave me

  697. somewhat of an aversion

  698. to that emotion, right?

  699. But that's not right either, though.

  700. Because we need to recognize

  701. that love is an emotion.

  702. It's an inward affection.

  703. And we need to balance it

  704. with all the other descriptions

  705. of love that we see in the Bible.

  706. So genuine love is an emotion.

  707. Number two,

  708. genuine love is demonstrated

  709. by actions, okay?

  710. Meaning that, yes,

  711. we should have affection

  712. one toward another,

  713. have a love in our hearts one for another,

  714. but they should also be demonstrated

  715. in our deeds as well.

  716. Look at 1 John 3

  717. and verse 16.

  718. It says,

  719. hereby perceive we the love of God

  720. because he laid down his life for us.

  721. And we ought to lay down our lives

  722. for the brethren.

  723. But whoso hath this world's good

  724. and seeeth this brother have need

  725. and shutteth up his bowels

  726. of compassion from him,

  727. how dwelleth the love of God

  728. in him.

  729. Now, let me just

  730. help you to understand something here

  731. because along with this

  732. fake love that people have,

  733. people also end up,

  734. you know, asserting that

  735. if someone doesn't have

  736. love in their hearts,

  737. that means they're not saved, right?

  738. And that's not

  739. necessarily true either, okay?

  740. Because sometimes people

  741. don't cultivate

  742. the spiritual virtues

  743. that they have, you understand?

  744. They don't cultivate it.

  745. How do you cultivate it?

  746. By going to church,

  747. by reading the Bible,

  748. walking in the spirit

  749. that you should not fulfill

  750. the lust of the flesh, okay?

  751. How is the fruit of the spirit

  752. produced?

  753. By walking in the spirit.

  754. It doesn't come naturally.

  755. You know, when we get saved,

  756. the Bible tells us

  757. that we're in doubt

  758. with the Holy Spirit of God

  759. in whom you also trusted.

  760. After that you heard

  761. the word of truth,

  762. the gospel of your salvation

  763. in whom also after

  764. that you believed

  765. you were sealed

  766. with the Holy Spirit of promise

  767. which is the earnest

  768. of our inheritance

  769. unto the redemption

  770. of the purchased possession.

  771. The Bible says we're sealed

  772. unto the day of redemption

  773. with the Holy Spirit of God.

  774. We have the spirit of truth.

  775. But hold on a second.

  776. If we want to benefit

  777. from the indwelling spirit,

  778. we've got to walk in the spirit.

  779. You actually have to

  780. yield to the spirit.

  781. And so if a person gets saved,

  782. listen to this,

  783. if a person gets saved

  784. to come to the saving

  785. knowledge of Christ,

  786. they're indwell

  787. with the Holy Spirit,

  788. but they don't go to church.

  789. They're not reading the Bible.

  790. They're not getting

  791. godly fellowship.

  792. They're going to be

  793. a corner person,

  794. not absent of the spirit,

  795. but weak in the spirit.

  796. I mean, folks,

  797. this is why the Bible tells us

  798. be strong in the Lord

  799. and in the power of his might.

  800. Well, why would he have

  801. to command us that

  802. if that just comes naturally?

  803. I'll tell you why,

  804. because it doesn't come naturally.

  805. It's something that has

  806. to be cultivated.

  807. And you know what?

  808. I know weak Christians.

  809. I've seen weak Christians.

  810. You want to know a weak Christian?

  811. It's a Christian

  812. who just doesn't

  813. live according to the Bible.

  814. They're giving themselves

  815. over to the lust of the flesh.

  816. But if you're to talk to them,

  817. are you safe to say,

  818. well, I remember

  819. when I got saved years ago,

  820. yeah, I believed on Jesus Christ.

  821. I'm just living a backslidden life

  822. right now.

  823. That's a weak Christian.

  824. It's a carnal Christian.

  825. You're like, oh, there's

  826. no such thing as a carnal Christian.

  827. Really?

  828. Because the Apostle Paul said

  829. in Romans 7, I am carnal.

  830. And I'm assuming that, like,

  831. he's a better Christian than you.

  832. Just throwing that out there.

  833. It's possible that the Apostle Paul

  834. was better than you

  835. in regards to, you know,

  836. his Christian practices

  837. and living a godly life.

  838. Yet he himself said,

  839. in me, that is in my flesh,

  840. dwelleth no good thing.

  841. For the things that I would,

  842. I do not.

  843. The things that I do not,

  844. that I do.

  845. You know, he's talking about

  846. that inner turmoil

  847. that he experiences.

  848. Why?

  849. Because when we get saved,

  850. it doesn't mean that God

  851. extracts the old man from us.

  852. He's still there with us.

  853. Which is why the Bible says

  854. to put off the old man

  855. according to the deceitful lust.

  856. Make sure that you put off

  857. the old man,

  858. put on the Lord Jesus Christ.

  859. Why?

  860. Because we have both natures

  861. on us 100% of the time.

  862. And you say,

  863. well, what's the difference

  864. between the person

  865. who actually has love

  866. and is a Christian

  867. and the person who doesn't

  868. have love

  869. and is a Christian?

  870. I'll tell you what.

  871. The person who has salvation

  872. and they don't have love,

  873. they're not reading the Bible.

  874. They're not walking in the Spirit.

  875. They're not in church

  876. being taught

  877. how to have sincere love.

  878. They're not here today.

  879. Listen into the sermon.

  880. So yeah, you know what's going to happen to them?

  881. They're going to become bitter

  882. towards people who rung them.

  883. They're going to have hatred

  884. in their hearts

  885. towards brothers and sisters in Christ.

  886. They're going to have fear

  887. in their hearts.

  888. They're going to have inner turmoil.

  889. They're going to have constant

  890. battles in their mind.

  891. They're backslidden.

  892. They're involved in sin.

  893. Why?

  894. Because they're not really growing

  895. in their faith now.

  896. Are they?

  897. Okay?

  898. And so the Bible tells us here

  899. that how dwelleth the love of God in him

  900. if he's shutting up his bowels of compassion

  901. meaning that

  902. when the Bible talks about the bowels

  903. it's referring to kind of like our intestines.

  904. We like to say,

  905. I love them with all my heart.

  906. The Bible is like,

  907. I love them with all my bowels.

  908. I have a bow movement for you.

  909. I feel something.

  910. And it's kind of like

  911. maybe it's referring to

  912. like if I were to conjecture

  913. what's the exact interpretation here?

  914. It would be like, you know,

  915. I have butterflies in my stomach.

  916. Right?

  917. Got one laugh.

  918. One man who knows what I'm talking about there.

  919. You know, the bowels of compassion

  920. is simply referring to

  921. when you see a brother in need.

  922. Maybe they have like a physical need.

  923. A financial need.

  924. Some sort of,

  925. you know,

  926. they're lacking something in their life.

  927. You know,

  928. the Bible says that we should have

  929. some sort of bowel of compassion.

  930. Like man, I want to help this person.

  931. Okay?

  932. I want to help fulfill that need

  933. as best as I possibly can.

  934. He says in verse 18,

  935. my little children,

  936. let us not love in word,

  937. neither in tongue,

  938. but in deed and in truth.

  939. What is it saying?

  940. You know, it's nice that you say you love people.

  941. It's great that you claim to love God.

  942. It's great that you claim to have sincere love,

  943. but the Bible says

  944. don't love in word and tongue,

  945. do it in deed and in truth.

  946. Meaning do it according to the Bible

  947. and then do it by doing something about it.

  948. Now, what is the clearest example

  949. of this in the Word of God?

  950. Well, James chapter two tells us

  951. if a brother or sister

  952. be naked in destitute of daily food

  953. and one of you saying to them,

  954. be warmed and filled,

  955. you know,

  956. but give them not those things

  957. which are needful to the body.

  958. What does the prophet

  959. even so faith that the path

  960. and our works is dead,

  961. being alone?

  962. What the Bible is saying there

  963. is like, oh,

  964. you have love with your words

  965. because you're like,

  966. oh, be warmed and filled.

  967. I hope you get your needs met

  968. and God bless you.

  969. You know,

  970. yeah, that's a very loving thing

  971. to say,

  972. but the Bible says here

  973. that if we're to have,

  974. you know,

  975. a mature, perfect faith,

  976. we need to make sure

  977. that we provide for the needs

  978. as best as we possibly can.

  979. What is the Bible telling us?

  980. It's telling us that

  981. sincere, genuine love

  982. seeks to go out of its way

  983. to provide for the needs

  984. of our brothers and sisters in Christ.

  985. Okay?

  986. As best as we can.

  987. Obviously,

  988. in some instances,

  989. maybe you're not financially able

  990. or you're just not,

  991. you don't have the possessions

  992. or the resources available,

  993. but if you do though,

  994. the Bible says you should have

  995. bowels of compassion

  996. for your brother and sisters

  997. in Christ.

  998. John chapter 15,

    John 15 chapter mention

  999. turn with me if you want to

  1000. John 13.

  1001. Go to John 13.

  1002. You're in 1st John.

1003. Go to John chapter 13.

    John 13 chapter mention

1004. I'm going to read to you

  1005. from John 15 in verse 12.

  1006. It says,

  1007. this is my commandment

1008. that ye love one another

1009. as I have loved you.

1010. Greater love hath no man

  1011. than this,

1012. that a man lay down his life

  1013. for his friends.

  1014. Obviously,

1015. one of the greatest expressions

  1016. of love,

1017. as far as an action is concerned,

1018. is to actually give your life

  1019. for your friends.

  1020. And that's a major sacrifice,

  1021. is it not?

  1022. You know?

  1023. And I think I speak

1024. for all dads when we say

  1025. like, we would willingly

  1026. give our lives

  1027. for our children.

  1028. You know,

  1029. if my son,

  1030. my daughter,

1031. was in some sort of danger

  1032. if they're drowning

1033. or whatever it may be,

  1034. and it would require

1035. my death to save them,

  1036. I would willingly

  1037. make that trade.

  1038. That's obviously,

  1039. I think that's more

  1040. of an easier trade

  1041. rather than just anybody.

  1042. You know?

  1043. But the Bible says,

  1044. you know,

  1045. that's like the greatest

  1046. expression of love there

1047. as noted by the fact

  1048. that Jesus Christ

  1049. obviously sacrificed

  1050. himself for us.

  1051. I remember years ago,

  1052. maybe it was like

  1053. 10, 15 years ago,

1054. this is in a different church.

1055. There was a youth activity

1056. and I think it was

1057. at a beach or something

1058. but it was a youth activity

1059. and the teens were swimming

1060. and one of the teens

1061. got caught in a riptide.

  1062. You know,

1063. he got caught in a riptide

  1064. which is extremely dangerous,

  1065. you know,

1066. and he got caught in a riptide

1067. and one of his friends

1068. saw that he jumped in.

1069. I think he jumped in

1070. with like a boogie board

  1071. or something like that

1072. and he saved his friend

  1073. but he drowned.

1074. He was about 15, 16 years old

  1075. or something,

  1076. he was a teenager,

  1077. he drowned.

1078. He gave his life for his friend

1079. and that is the greatest

1080. expression of love right there

  1081. and of course he's a hero

  1082. but this is demonstrating

  1083. that greater love

1084. has no man to this.

1085. He had enough love for his friend

1086. to want to save him

1087. even if it meant giving

  1088. his life for him.

1089. Jesus goes on to say

  1090. in verse 14,

  1091. ye are my friends

  1092. if you do whatsoever

  1093. I command you.

  1094. John chapter 13,

    John 13 chapter mention

1095. let me just spend some time

1096. on that actually real quick.

  1097. Ye are my friends

  1098. if you do whatsoever

  1099. I command you.

  1100. So don't prep

  1101. friend of Jesus

  1102. on your bio

1103. if you're not obeying the Bible.

  1104. Don't put

  1105. I'm a follower of Jesus.

1106. Really, how's your obedience though?

1107. You kind of look like

  1108. a godless person.

  1109. Don't tell me you're a friend

  1110. of Jesus

  1111. and you've got

1112. only fans or something like that.

  1113. Look at John 13 verse 33,

    John 13:33

  1114. little children

  1115. yet a little while

  1116. I'm with you

  1117. ye shall seek me

  1118. and as I said

  1119. into the Jews

1120. whether I go you cannot come

1121. so now I say to you

  1122. a new commandment

  1123. I give unto you

1124. that ye love one another

1125. as I have loved you

1126. that ye also love one another.

1127. What is the Bible telling us?

  1128. It's telling us here

1129. that this is a major,

1130. major command in the New Testament

1131. that we should be characterized

  1132. by our love

  1133. towards other brothers

  1134. and sisters in Christ.

  1135. And you know what?

  1136. It should be said

1137. that we have a greater love

  1138. for our sisters

  1139. and brothers and sisters

  1140. in Christ

  1141. than the unsaved.

  1142. You know obviously

  1143. if you're working out

  1144. in the world

1145. you go to school in the world

  1146. you are involved

  1147. in the secular realm

  1148. you're going to come

1149. in contact with a lot

  1150. of unsaved Christian

  1151. unsaved people.

  1152. A lot of people

  1153. who don't adhere

  1154. to religion

  1155. they're not Christian

1156. but let me say this

  1157. you know you should

  1158. obviously befriend them

1159. in order to win them

  1160. to Christ

1161. but you should never favor

  1162. an unsaved person

  1163. over your brothers

1164. and sisters in Christ though

1165. and it should not be

  1166. that you're closer

  1167. you feel a lot

  1168. you feel this kinship

  1169. towards unsaved people

  1170. more than you do

  1171. towards your brothers

  1172. and sisters in Christ

  1173. towards Christians.

  1174. Why?

1175. Because of the fact that

  1176. the Bible tells us

  1177. being not unequally

  1178. yoked together with unbelievers

  1179. for a fellowship

  1180. that's righteousness

  1181. with unrighteousness

  1182. we'll conquer that

  1183. with Christ with Belial

  1184. we'll party at the

  1185. that believers with

  1186. an infidel

  1187. obviously we want to

  1188. win them to Christ

1189. we want to get them saved

1190. help them come to the

  1191. saving knowledge of Jesus

1192. but hold on a second

  1193. if you're just

  1194. super comfortable

  1195. with the unsaved though

  1196. you just love being

  1197. around them

1198. you know something wrong with you

  1199. you need to develop

  1200. a sincere genuine love

  1201. for Christians

  1202. because this is

  1203. literally commanded

  1204. by Jesus himself

  1205. he says a commandment

1206. I give it to you

  1207. that you love

  1208. one another

1209. and he's talking to his disciples

  1210. and that command

1211. extends unto us as well

1212. you don't have to turn there

  1213. but go with me

  1214. if you would to

  1215. Matthew chapter 5

    Matthew 5 chapter mention

1216. I'm going to read to you

  1217. from 2nd Corinthians chapter 8

1218. you go to Matthew chapter 5

    Matthew 5 chapter mention

  1219. if you would

  1220. 2nd Corinthians 8 7

  1221. says therefore is he

  1222. a bound in everything

  1223. in faith and utterance

  1224. and knowledge

  1225. and in all diligence

1226. and in your love to us

  1227. see that you bound

  1228. in this grace also

1229. when it says a bounder

  1230. means to grow

1231. so if you're sitting there

  1232. like man I don't

  1233. actually love the brethren

1234. as much as I should

  1235. but well you know

  1236. join the club

1237. because we all get there

1238. at one point or another

  1239. where our love

  1240. for the brethren

1241. is not where it should be

  1242. we don't necessarily

  1243. have an inward affection

  1244. towards the brethren

1245. but you know the Bible says

1246. we need to a bound

  1247. in that area

1248. just as you a bound

  1249. and growing

  1250. your utterance

  1251. and your knowledge

  1252. of the Bible

1253. God says you need to

  1254. work on your love

1255. stop being such a cold

  1256. hearted person

  1257. such a stoic

  1258. and actually develop

  1259. some inward affection

  1260. towards your brothers

  1261. and sisters

  1262. in Christ

  1263. and of course

1264. we're in the point of

  1265. actions right

1266. it goes on the same verse 8

1267. I speak not by command

  1268. but by the occasion

1269. of the forwardness of others

1270. and to prove the sincerity

  1271. of your love

  1272. this is in 2 Corinthians 8 verse 9

    2 Corinthians 8:9

  1273. for you know

1274. that the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ

1275. that though he was rich

  1276. yet for your sakes

  1277. he became poor

  1278. the etherist poverty

  1279. might be rich

1280. and herein I give my advice

1281. for this is expedient for you

  1282. who have begun before

  1283. not only to do

1284. but also to be forward

  1285. a year ago

  1286. now therefore

1287. perform the doing of it

1288. of course the context here

  1289. is that he's saying

  1290. you know

  1291. provide for the needs

1292. of the church at Corinth

1293. you know you claim to have

  1294. love in your hearts

  1295. express that love

  1296. by your actions

  1297. and by your sacrifices

1298. now let me say this

1299. when it comes to loving

  1300. the brethren

  1301. and this is important

1302. we should love the brethren

  1303. not expecting anything

  1304. in return

  1305. now the natural

  1306. byproduct is just like

1307. can you show me some love

  1308. back though

1309. can I get some love

  1310. can you favor me

  1311. like I favored you

  1312. and you know what

  1313. that's a natural response

1314. but it should not be

  1315. an expectation though

  1316. okay

  1317. you know we

  1318. why because

  1319. genuine sincere love

  1320. loves not expecting anything

  1321. in return

  1322. genuine sincere love

  1323. loves

  1324. and just is satisfied

  1325. is content

  1326. is happy

1327. we're just leaving it at that

1328. making it just a one

  1329. one way road

  1330. like well you know

1331. I always tell this person

  1332. I love them

1333. they never tell me they love me back

  1334. I mean that's just

1335. some people are like that

  1336. now you know

1337. I think every once in a while

  1338. you know

  1339. in its appropriate way

  1340. you should you know

  1341. reciprocate that

1342. so you don't come off

  1343. as a jerk

1344. you know what I mean

  1345. you know like

  1346. ditto bro

  1347. or something you know

  1348. but you know

1349. don't do things for people

  1350. because you want something

  1351. in return

1352. don't express by your works

1353. the sincerity of your love

  1354. your inward affection

  1355. because you want people

1356. to express that to you

  1357. as well

  1358. that's not right

  1359. because sincere love

  1360. doesn't expect it

1361. they do it without expecting

  1362. any type of return

1363. or expect for it to be reciprocated

  1364. look at Matthew 5

    Matthew 5:44

  1365. verse 44

1366. but I say it to you

  1367. now this of course

1368. is talking about your enemies

  1369. but you know

  1370. we can

1371. place this also in the context

  1372. of just anybody

  1373. love your enemies

  1374. bless them their curse

1375. you do good to them

  1376. that hate you

  1377. pray for them which

  1378. despitefully use you

  1379. and persecute you

  1380. that you may be

1381. the children of your father

  1382. which is in heaven

1383. for you make it the sun

1384. to rise on the evil

  1385. and on the good

  1386. and send it's rain

  1387. on the just

  1388. and on the unjust

1389. for if you love them

  1390. which love you

  1391. what reward have he

  1392. do not even

  1393. the publicans

1394. the same the Bible says

  1395. okay

  1396. so this is like

  1397. oh man

  1398. you know unsay people

  1399. act like that

  1400. okay

1401. we need to make sure

1402. that when we love others

  1403. we're not expecting like

1404. aren't you going to say

  1405. something

  1406. you know

1407. don't you want to say it back

  1408. you know

  1409. or you did something

1410. for someone who's just like

  1411. well you know

1412. remember when I did that

  1413. for you

  1414. well obviously

  1415. that didn't come from

  1416. a heart of sincerity

  1417. when we help others

  1418. give gifts to others

  1419. we bless others

  1420. we should see it

  1421. as mission accomplished

  1422. I can move on

  1423. with my life

1424. and not wait for that

  1425. person to reciprocate

  1426. that in return

  1427. okay

  1428. like oh man

1429. I'm just a person who kind of

  1430. needs that

1431. well you need to learn

  1432. not to need that

  1433. okay

  1434. and you know what

  1435. if you are not

  1436. receiving that type of

  1437. compassion

  1438. love for one another

  1439. from others

  1440. then you know

1441. find your solace in the Lord

  1442. because the Lord

  1443. always reciprocates that

  1444. we love the Lord

  1445. he loves us back

1446. and let's just be honest

  1447. we don't reciprocate that

  1448. to the Lord

1449. as much as we should

  1450. so when he extends

  1451. his love towards us

  1452. his compassion

  1453. and mercy towards us

  1454. his grace towards us

  1455. you know

  1456. we're not always

  1457. hopping on

  1458. in our prayer life

1459. thanking God for those things

  1460. sometimes he just

  1461. blesses us with rain

  1462. with blessings

  1463. with resources

  1464. and finances

  1465. and possessions

  1466. and spiritual blessings

1467. and we don't say nothing back

  1468. so everyone does that

  1469. okay

1470. the point that I'm making

  1471. is that

  1472. genuine

  1473. sincere love

  1474. gives

  1475. not necessarily expecting

  1476. anything in return

  1477. okay

1478. and let me also say this

  1479. sincere genuine love

1480. we're talking about works here

  1481. for Gibbs

  1482. the Bible tells us

1483. go with me if you would to

  1484. let's see here

  1485. go to 1 Peter chapter 4

    1 Peter 4 chapter mention

  1486. 1 Peter chapter 4

    1 Peter 4 chapter mention

  1487. 1 Peter chapter 4

    1 Peter 4 chapter mention

  1488. if you would

  1489. and after 1 Peter 4

1490. we're gonna go to Galatians

    Galatians 4 chapter mention

  1491. chapter 4

  1492. 1 Peter chapter 4

    1 Peter 4 chapter mention

1493. so point number 2 is that

  1494. sincere genuine love

  1495. demonstrates works

  1496. right

  1497. for one another

1498. and part of the works

  1499. is just being

  1500. willing to forgive people

  1501. when they wrong

  1502. forgiveness needs to be

  1503. a major attribute

1504. and characteristic of a Christian

  1505. that's something that we

  1506. definitely need to develop

1507. on a daily, weekly, monthly,

  1508. yearly basis

  1509. okay

  1510. because people offend us

  1511. they wrong us

  1512. they

1513. you know do evil unto us

1514. and we need to learn

  1515. how to forgive

  1516. the Bible says

  1517. the Bible tells us

  1518. in Ephesians chapter 4

    Ephesians 4 chapter mention

  1519. let all bitterness

  1520. and wrath

  1521. and clamor

  1522. and evil speaking

1523. be put away from you

  1524. with all malice

  1525. be kind unto another

  1526. tender heart

  1527. of forgiving one another

1528. even as God for Christ's sake

  1529. has forgiven you

1530. you know what that means

  1531. it means that

  1532. you should forgive people

  1533. in your heart

  1534. like well I don't forgive them

  1535. because they haven't asked

  1536. for forgiveness

  1537. well you should still

1538. forgive them in your heart

  1539. though

1540. and if they come to you

  1541. in person

  1542. asking for forgiveness

  1543. forgive them

  1544. and look folks

  1545. forgiveness is probably

  1546. one of the most

  1547. pleasurable things to do

1548. you know as a Christian

1549. I'll be honest with you

  1550. when you forgive someone

1551. you're just able to release them

  1552. of that debt

  1553. of that burden

  1554. of that offense

  1555. it's great

  1556. and it

  1557. ensures you

  1558. and it ensures me

  1559. that we will be

  1560. forgiven of God

  1561. obviously we know that

  1562. we're forgiven of God

1563. of past, present and future sins

  1564. for eternal damnation

  1565. but guess what

  1566. we need daily forgiveness

  1567. of sins

  1568. because we offend God

  1569. on a daily basis

1570. if we say we have no sin

  1571. we deceive ourselves

1572. and the truth is not in us

1573. if we confess our sins

1574. he is faithful and just

1575. to forgive us our sins

1576. and cleanse us from all

  1577. unrighteousness

  1578. well you know what

1579. if you want that promise

  1580. to be true

  1581. you have to forgive

  1582. your offenders

  1583. okay

  1584. and the Bible says

  1585. for Christ's sake

  1586. have he forgiven you

1587. so we need to make sure

1588. we do it as unto the Lord

  1589. right

  1590. look at 1 Peter chapter 4

    1 Peter 4:8

  1591. verse 8

  1592. and above all things

  1593. listen to this

  1594. have fervent charity

  1595. among yourselves

  1596. charity is just

1597. another way of saying love

  1598. have passionate love

  1599. but then he says

  1600. for charity

1601. shall cover the multitude of sins

  1602. now this doesn't mean

1603. you sweep things under the rug

  1604. okay

  1605. you know these churches

  1606. that sweep pedophilia

1607. and crimes under the rug

  1608. that's not fervent charity

  1609. it's criminal

  1610. okay

  1611. when it says

1612. the covers of multitude of sins

1613. is referring to the fact

1614. that when you forgive someone

1615. you don't bring it back up again

  1616. you bury that offense

  1617. you bury it

1618. and you don't hang it

  1619. over their heads

1620. for the rest of their life

  1621. right

  1622. you know

1623. you want to have good relationships

  1624. in your marriage

1625. you want to have a good relationship

  1626. amongst your friends

  1627. don't be the person

1628. who just brings up the past

  1629. all the time

  1630. have fervent charity

  1631. listen to this

  1632. have fervent charity

1633. that covers the multitude of sins

  1634. okay

  1635. and so that's important

  1636. go with him

  1637. if you would

  1638. go to a Galatians chapter 4

    Galatians 4 chapter mention

  1639. genuine love

  1640. is an emotion

  1641. genuine love

  1642. is demonstrated

  1643. in actions

1644. but let me also say this

1645. genuine love speaks the truth

  1646. okay

1647. this is my favorite part

  1648. right here

  1649. amen

1650. let's get all that mushy

1651. gushy stuff out of the way

  1652. real quick

1653. let's get down to brass

  1654. taxier

  1655. okay

  1656. genuine love

  1657. speaks the truth

  1658. okay

  1659. and this is something

  1660. that churches

1661. don't like to talk about

1662. they love those first two

  1663. points

  1664. you know

  1665. and if you're a Lib Christian

1666. you love what I just said

  1667. right there

  1668. like man

  1669. just finish right there

  1670. just just

  1671. amen right there

1672. and we're good to go

1673. but hold on a second

  1674. we're expounding upon

1675. what it means to have genuine love

1676. and according to the Bible

  1677. genuine love

1678. actually tells you the truth

1679. and let me say this

  1680. you know

  1681. the word nice

1682. is not in the Bible

1683. nice doesn't exist in the Bible

1684. obviously the Bible tells us

  1685. to be kind

  1686. to be gracious

1687. but let me just tell you

  1688. something right now

  1689. sometimes the truth hurts

  1690. and you know what

1691. sometimes the Bible commands us

  1692. to tell the truth

1693. in a very rude manner

  1694. and in fact

  1695. the apostle Paul said

1696. though I be rude in speech

  1697. yet not in knowledge

  1698. that's like

1699. that's like my live verse

  1700. right there

1701. you know because people are like

1702. oh man he's so rude

  1703. look how he says

  1704. all these

1705. what he's saying in these letters

  1706. and he's like yeah

1707. I'm rude in my speech

  1708. yeah

1709. the way I say things

  1710. is not nice

1711. but I'm not rude in my knowledge

1712. because I know what I'm talking about

1713. I'm giving you the truth

  1714. and you know what

  1715. you'll never find

  1716. a spirit filled prophet

  1717. of the Old Testament

  1718. be nice

  1719. and I didn't say

1720. there's not any nice prophets

  1721. in the Old Testament

  1722. because there are

  1723. but they're false prophets

  1724. they're all false prophets

  1725. study it

  1726. the false prophets

  1727. of the Old Testament

1728. they're the ones who are just like

  1729. no judgment is coming

1730. you're going to have peace

  1731. in your day

1732. don't listen to this guy

  1733. he's being mean

  1734. he's guilty of treason

  1735. you know

1736. you're going to go and prosper

1737. you're going to win this war

  1738. Ahab dies

  1739. liar

1740. that's the result of nice preaching

  1741. whereas Micaiah is like

  1742. you're going to die

  1743. you're not coming back

1744. and he's like this guy

1745. never preaches good concern to me

  1746. but only evil

1747. he doesn't like the truth

  1748. but you know what

1749. the truth sometimes hurts does it not

1750. and let me tell you something right now

  1751. the Bible tells us

1752. that we need to be in church

1753. hear the preaching of God's word

1754. and it says that we

1755. henceforth be no more children

  1756. tossed to and fro

1757. carried about with every wind of doctrine

1758. by the sleight of men

  1759. cunning craftiness

1760. whereby they lying away to deceive

1761. and then it tells us

1762. but speaking the truth in love

  1763. and this is

  1764. the liberals favorite

  1765. verse right here

1766. oh he's not speaking the truth in love

1767. right and I get accused of this

  1768. all the time

  1769. all the time

1770. it doesn't offend me though

  1771. at all

1772. because I don't get offended by people

1773. who don't know the Bible

1774. if they try to use the Bible against me

1775. I'm not like how could you

1776. I'm like this person just doesn't know the Bible

1777. because what do they mean by

1778. oh he's not speaking the truth in love

  1779. he's saying it mean

1780. it's just the way he says it

  1781. and you know

  1782. if I had a dime

1783. for every time I heard this

1784. we would have the building already

1785. where they'll say something like this

  1786. they're like

1787. well it's not what he says

1788. it's how he says it

  1789. you know

  1790. preach about fornication

  1791. preach against Jews

  1792. preach against Muslims

  1793. preach against the Godars

  1794. preach against false religion

  1795. and then you know

  1796. I'm ripping face

1797. I'm lifting up my voice

1798. like a trumpet crying out loud

1799. and sparing not as the Bible commands me

  1800. and they're like

  1801. well it's true what he's saying

  1802. but I just

1803. it's how he says it

  1804. you know

  1805. it's good that he's preaching

  1806. fornication is a sin

  1807. yeah but you know

1808. it's just how he says it

1809. why does he have to say it like that

  1810. and it's just like

1811. how do you want me to say it

1812. you want me to be like

  1813. fornication is wicked

  1814. don't do it

1815. yeah you would laugh at me

  1816. exactly

1817. you would laugh at me

1818. because you would not take me serious

1819. and there's a reason why God commands

  1820. a certain dynamic

1821. in preaching in the Bible

  1822. he would literally

  1823. command his prophets

1824. you better make sure you yell this

  1825. when you're preaching this

  1826. you better make sure

1827. you stomp with your foot

  1828. preach against the nation

  1829. and the leaders

1830. you got to get the people's attention

1831. you know he didn't say

1832. hey make sure you're like

1833. nice about this whole thing

  1834. you know

  1835. don't go overboard

  1836. you know

1837. make sure that you display Christ

  1838. but you know what

1839. Christ was a hard preacher though

  1840. and people are always

1841. like you don't preach like Jesus

  1842. and I tell them

  1843. yeah you're right

1844. because I'm not flipping over tables

  1845. you actually

1846. you're actually right about that

  1847. because you know

  1848. I don't remember

1849. ever flipping over a table

  1850. when I'm preaching

1851. because that's exactly what he did

  1852. and again

  1853. people have this perception

  1854. of who Jesus is

1855. that's not in the Bible

  1856. this is the perception

  1857. of people of Jesus

  1858. the protruding Catholic heart

  1859. it's all bleeding

1860. it has a crown on it

  1861. for whatever reason

  1862. he has long

  1863. he's got the A1s

  1864. you know

  1865. he's got the robon

  1866. lights

  1867. what does this mean

1868. and they think he just

  1869. like floated around

  1870. and just

1871. that's not the Jesus of the Bible

  1872. when the Bible says

1873. to speak the truth and love

1874. let me explain to you

  1875. what this means

1876. speaking the truth and love

  1877. meaning

1878. means that you tell people

1879. the truth out of a heart

  1880. that loves them

  1881. in love doesn't mean

1882. how nice you say it

1883. it means you're telling them

  1884. because you actually love

1885. the person that you're talking to

  1886. that means sometimes

1887. people tell you the truth

1888. not because they love you

1889. they just want to be

  1890. condemning towards you

  1891. they have a holier

  1892. than now complex

  1893. they're hyper spiritual

1894. so that is a temptation

  1895. for people

1896. and so the Bible commands is

1897. make sure when you preach

1898. the truth you give the truth

1899. you do it in love

1900. meaning you do it out of a heart

  1901. that actually desires

  1902. their exhortation

  1903. their spiritual growth

1904. you want them to repent

  1905. of that sin

  1906. lest they should come

  1907. to destruction

  1908. and desolation

1909. you want them to come

1910. to the truth of this

  1911. particular subject

  1912. so that they don't

  1913. destroy themselves

  1914. that's what it means

1915. to speak the truth and love

  1916. not like the decibels

  1917. of your voice

1918. well you don't have to yell

  1919. like that

  1920. you know

1921. why do you have to be mean

1922. why do you have to call them

  1923. homos and fags

1924. and why do you have to say

  1925. Jews

1926. and why do you have to say

1927. all these words are so offensive

  1928. well because you know

  1929. gotta get your attention

  1930. and you know what

1931. look at all the stuff

1932. that God had Ezekiel do

  1933. when he preached

  1934. and look

  1935. people who criticize

  1936. this dynamic

  1937. preaching

  1938. have obviously never

  1939. actually studied

  1940. how the Old Testament

  1941. prophets behaved

  1942. God's like

1943. lay on your side for

  1944. 360 days

  1945. 390 days

  1946. and then he's like

  1947. eat cows dung

  1948. and he's like

  1949. just doing crazy stuff

1950. I mean one of the crazies

1951. is like you know what

1952. I'm gonna take the desire

  1953. from your eyes

1954. and I don't want you to mourn

1955. meaning that he was gonna

1956. allow Ezekiel's wife to die

  1957. and he's like

1958. when you rise up in the morning

  1959. go and preach

  1960. and don't mourn

  1961. that's not very nice

1962. you know what the Bible says

  1963. in the morning

  1964. she died

  1965. and he rose

1966. and he did as he was commanded

1967. not very nice now is it

1968. yeah no one likes to talk

  1969. no non-denom church

1970. likes to talk about that story

  1971. because it doesn't fit

  1972. into their nice narrative

  1973. where God says

1974. I'm gonna take the desire

  1975. from your eyes

1976. and I don't want you to mourn

  1977. when she dies

1978. I want you to get up

1979. and preach the word of God

  1980. and he said why

1981. just to use it as an illustration

  1982. just to say

  1983. you know

  1984. when I destroyed Jerusalem

1985. the destruction is gonna be

  1986. so heavy

1987. it's gonna leave everyone speechless

  1988. just to illustrate that

  1989. like man

1990. why did God do that

  1991. because he's God

1992. he can do whatever he wants

  1993. and you know what

  1994. Ezekiel is boss

  1995. he's a Chad

  1996. okay

  1997. because he did it

1998. and he's one of the prophets

  1999. of the Old Testament

2000. who was said of more

2001. probably more than anybody else

2002. that the spirit of God

  2003. came upon him

  2004. okay

  2005. the point being here

2006. is that get the word nice

  2007. out of your vocabulary

2008. when we're talking about preaching

2009. because according to the Bible

2010. sometimes you need to hear the truth

  2011. okay

2012. look at Galatians chapter 4

    Galatians 4 chapter mention

  2013. if you would

  2014. Galatians chapter 4

    Galatians 4 chapter mention

2015. and sometimes you know Christians

2016. they get offended at that

  2017. but it's because

2018. they just been in churches

  2019. they're just too nice

2020. but let me give you the equivalent

2021. of nice in the Bible

2022. when it comes to preaching

  2023. because the word nice

2024. is not found in the Bible

  2025. but you know

  2026. there is an equivalent

  2027. too nice

2028. when it comes to preaching

  2029. in the Bible

  2030. it's called deception

  2031. it's called flattery

2032. when people are being overly nice

  2033. behind the pulpit

  2034. flattering you

  2035. they're deceiving you

2036. you know like Joel's theme for example

  2037. bro's nice

  2038. super nice

  2039. I mean I don't know

  2040. if there's a sermon where he's not smiling

2041. it's got the million dollar smile

  2042. everyone loves him

  2043. he's just a really nice guy

  2044. he doesn't condemn anybody

2045. but he's just full of lies and deceit

2046. because he doesn't really love people

2047. he's not really telling them the truth

  2048. look at Galatians 4 verse 13

    Galatians 4:13

  2049. you know how that

  2050. infirmity of the flesh

2051. I preach the gospel to you at the first

2052. and my temptation which was in my flesh

2053. he despised not nor rejected

2054. but receive me as an angel of God

  2055. even as Christ Jesus

2056. so what's going on here

2057. Apostle Paul is writing this letter

2058. to the churches of Galatia

  2059. who have been Judaized

  2060. in his absence

2061. you have these false brethren

  2062. who crept in unawares

  2063. these Jews

2064. who were coming in after the Apostle Paul

2065. trying to teach people to come back

  2066. under the law

2067. and they created a lot of chaos

  2068. in these churches

  2069. because people started thinking

2070. well I gotta make sure I keep the law

2071. in order to be saved

2072. and so he writes this letter

2073. and he's just getting on them

  2074. he's calling them stupid

  2075. he's saying that they're foolish

2076. I mean he's ripping their faces off

2077. and I want you to notice this in verse 15

2078. where is then the blessing is he spake of?

2079. I bear you record that

2080. if it had been possible

2081. you would have plucked out your own eyes

2082. and have given them to me

  2083. what is he saying?

2084. you know when I first came

  2085. you guys were

  2086. you guys loved me

2087. you guys were willing to sacrifice

  2088. things for me

2089. you saw me as an angel

  2090. you were just

  2091. kindly affection towards me

2092. but now you don't like me anymore

2093. he says in verse 16

2094. am I therefore becoming your enemy

2095. because I tell you the truth

  2096. is it because now

2097. I'm exposing all this stuff

2098. that now you don't like me

  2099. because of that

2100. is that what it is?

2101. you just don't like the truth

  2102. you know what folks

2103. this is still common today

  2104. in 2026

2105. that when you preach the truth

2106. people are gonna get offended

  2107. and I'm sure I've offended

2108. a lot of people in our church

2109. over the last couple of years

  2110. for sure

2111. I run the risk of offending you

  2112. yeah I know that

2113. I run the risk of offending people

  2114. that I love

2115. people that I have inward affection towards

2116. because I gotta give you the truth

  2117. but you know what

2118. at least I'm willing to give you the truth

  2119. and if you decide

2120. well I'm never gonna come back to this church

2121. because I was offended at what you said

  2122. I didn't agree with that

2123. I don't like the way you said it

2124. I don't like when you say whore

  2125. I don't like when you say

  2126. you know whatever

2127. I don't like when you preach again

  2128. so and so

  2129. I don't like that

2130. I'm never gonna come back

2131. well at least you know

2132. that there was a prophet

2133. who gave you the truth though

  2134. and that doesn't mean

  2135. I won't hurt for you

2136. like I hurt when people leave for sure

  2137. for wrong reasons

  2138. it hurts me

2139. it breaks my heart for sure

  2140. you know

2141. because I do have genuine love for the brethren

2142. I have inward affection towards the brethren

2143. and it burdens me when people leave

2144. for that reason for sure

  2145. but I'm just

2146. I'm just not gonna stop doing my job though

  2147. because my job

2148. yeah my job is to pastor you

2149. but my job is to give you the truth though

  2150. and it's a gamble sometimes

2151. because I gotta think to myself like

  2152. if I preach this

  2153. if I say this

2154. I run the risk of running these people out

  2155. but it's a risk

2156. I have to take every single time

2157. because at the end of the day

  2158. though I'm serving you

2159. sorry I'm serving the Lord first

2160. and I have a job to do

  2161. okay

2162. and so I'm telling you that

  2163. to demonstrate that

  2164. you know what

2165. genuine love actually gives you the truth

2166. it doesn't just allow you to remain in that sin

2167. and just be that type of person

  2168. and have that characteristic

  2169. and that quality

  2170. with no correction whatsoever

2171. no my job as an under shepherd

2172. is to sometimes whack the sheep

2173. on the top of the head

2174. and if the sheep wants to leave the fold

  2175. then that's the sheep's prerogative

2176. that's what he wants to do

2177. that's what she wants to do

2178. but you know at the end of the day

2179. it's not gonna stop me

2180. it's not gonna prevent me from the future

  2181. but maybe I shouldn't preach that

2182. because you know I just scare people away

2183. no I'm just gonna have to keep doing it

  2184. I don't have to change

2185. the way I deliver my preaching

2186. you just have to start loving the truth

2187. I don't need to change my delivery

2188. you need to change how you receive it

2189. you know the Bible tells us to be spear-filled

2190. but like the song leader says right before he prays

  2191. give a spear-filled ears

2192. he the hath an ear

2193. let him hear what the spear says unto the churches

2194. you know what that means

2195. it means that it's my job to be spear-filled

2196. to give you the truth

2197. but it's your job to receive the truth

  2198. to accept it

2199. especially if there is biblical

2200. substantial proof to back it up

2201. and you know what we live in a society today

  2202. just offended about everything

2203. just get offended about everything

2204. and everyone cancel the culture of this

2205. and I don't like the way he said

  2206. let's cancel this person

  2207. let's expose this person

2208. and people bring that into the church

2209. people bring that into the church

2210. and they're so offended at everything

2211. you need to develop some thick skin

2212. I'm not your enemy because I tell you the truth

2213. it's actually an expression of genuine love

  2214. let me say this

2215. the Bible says open rebuke

2216. is better than secret love

2217. faithful are the wounds of a friend

2218. but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful

2219. meaning that God interprets genuine love

  2220. as openly rebuking you

2221. rather than secretly telling you how much they love you

  2222. think about Judas Iscariot

  2223. Hail Rabbi

2224. gives him a kiss as he's betrayed Jesus Christ

2225. that's what the pastors are doing today

  2226. they're giving you a deceitful kiss

2227. on the cheek on Sunday mornings

2228. all the while they're betraying you

2229. by not giving you the truth

2230. and so it's important for us to recognize

2231. the importance of genuine love

2232. because genuine love truly tells you the truth

2233. and look folks let's be real

2234. when I say have sincere love

  2235. I'm saying be a genuine person

2236. you know here's the great thing about our church

2237. is that you could just be yourself

2238. now I will say this though

2239. I want you to be yourself

2240. but improve yourself too though

2241. because sometimes yourself is just too much

  2242. it's too worldly

2243. you should work at living a sanctified life

2244. but you don't need to be fake around me

2245. you don't need to act like some sort of

2246. hyper spiritual giant around me

2247. and you got it all together just be real with me

2248. I'll be real with you

  2249. I know you're not perfect

  2250. I know that you're not perfect

2251. everyone knows you're not perfect

  2252. I'm not perfect you're not perfect

  2253. just be real

2254. be a sincere genuine person

2255. you don't have to try to overcompensate

  2256. just be genuine

2257. and at the end of the day

2258. when you are a genuine person

2259. you don't have to worry

2260. about what people think about you

2261. this is who I am

  2262. I love the Lord

  2263. I'm coming to church

  2264. I'm reading my Bible

2265. I'm trying to win souls to Christ

2266. I'm trying to fellowship here

  2267. and that's all

  2268. that's my agenda

  2269. that's my prerogative

2270. that's my goal in life

  2271. praise God

2272. the person you have to worry about

2273. is the person who cakes on the spirituality

2274. that's the one you have to worry about

2275. let me read you a verse here

2276. Proverbs chapter 26 verse 23 says this

    Proverbs 26:23

2277. burning lips and a wicked heart

2278. are like a pot shirt covered with silver dross

  2279. he that hadith

  2280. dissembles with his lips

2281. and layeth up to seat within him

  2282. when he speaketh fair

  2283. believe him not

2284. for there are seven abominations

  2285. in his heart

2286. what does it mean to be fair

  2287. it's referring to beautiful

  2288. when someone's just like

  2289. hey brother

  2290. brother I'm just

2291. this is the Lord's day

  2292. you're right bro

  2293. like

  2294. you know

2295. I'm just in love with the Lord

  2296. you know

  2297. okay

2298. you don't have to be fake

  2299. hey church

2300. you know just this overly flowery

2301. here's how the Bible calls it

2302. great swelling words of vanity

2303. that's what the Bible refers to it as

2304. you know the Bible says

2305. when you find a person who's like that

  2306. very flowery

2307. very vainly puffed up with their words

2308. they have deceit in their heart

2309. they're trying to trick you

2310. you run into a neighbor that

  2311. flatters you constantly

  2312. a friend that's constantly flattering you

2313. is just being over the top

2314. it's probably because they're trying to like trick you

2315. they're trying to deter attention

  2316. from their true motives

2317. why because a sincere person is just sincere

  2318. they're just pure

2319. even if it means they're just a little too pure

  2320. a little too sincere

2321. but you know I'd rather have the guy

2322. don't come up and do this after the service

2323. but I'd rather have the guy come up

2324. and just drop an F bomb on accident

  2325. or on purpose

  2326. you know

2327. and you know just it's sincere

2328. but they're trying to win souls to Christ

2329. they're trying to grow in their faith

  2330. they love the Lord

  2331. they're faithful to church

2332. and they're going in the right direction

2333. then the person who's just completely clean

  2334. with his language

2335. but he has deceit in his heart

2336. give me the other guy

2337. give me David's mighty man

2338. give me the motley crew

2339. I'd rather work with people like that

2340. than people who are just fake

2341. because the person who's actually working towards that

  2342. is a sincere individual

2343. and they're not laying up to seat in their heart

  2344. okay

2345. go with me if you would to

  2346. let's go to 1 Corinthians chapter 13

    1 Corinthians 13 chapter mention

  2347. 1 Corinthians chapter 13

    1 Corinthians 13 chapter mention

  2348. talk about genuine love

2349. I got two more points and I'm done

2350. let me just breeze over this next point here

2351. before I get into my last

2352. and that is that genuine love

  2353. obeys the Lord

2354. genuine love obeys the Lord

2355. Bible says if you love me

  2356. keep my commandments

  2357. okay

2358. and so obviously genuine love

  2359. does obey the Lord

2360. and the person can't say well I love God

2361. and they're not going to church

2362. they're not reading the Bible

  2363. they're drinking alcohol

  2364. they're smoking weed

  2365. they're living a Godless life

  2366. notice that in

2367. by the way notice the Bible doesn't say

2368. if you're saved keep my commandments

  2369. notice it doesn't say

2370. if you have everlasting life keep my commandments

2371. it just says if you love me keep my commandments

  2372. okay

2373. and so it's important for us to recognize

2374. that if we want to express love towards

  2375. towards the Lord

2376. we need to be obedient

2377. now here's the great thing about this

  2378. think about it

2379. because sometimes people are like man I struggle

  2380. I feel like I don't have a love for God

2381. right and more often than not

2382. they're referring to like the emotion

  2383. right

2384. like they don't have the motivation

  2385. they feel apathetic towards

  2386. the things of God

2387. you guys know what I'm talking about

2388. sometimes you're just like man

2389. you know and let me just explain something to you

2390. I don't wake up every morning like jumping out of bed like

2391. trying to read the Bible

  2392. you know

2393. if that's you you're the guy that I was just talking about

  2394. in the previous point

  2395. you're lying okay

2396. nobody wakes up like that

  2397. I mean I wake up

  2398. I got six kids

2399. you know my wife and my six kids

2400. and you know what I don't want to talk to anyone

2401. until I got my cup of coffee and get ready

2402. like I'm not a morning person at all

2403. some of you are morning people I'm not a morning person at all

  2404. I have to transition

  2405. into the morning

2406. and you know I got to work on that

2407. but you know I don't wake up just like oh man

2408. I love the Bible so no sometimes I

2409. read it out of duty

2410. and a lot of times Christians

2411. think man if I don't have that

2412. burning desire within me to read the Bible

  2413. to go soul winning

2414. to go to church like it means like I'm a

  2415. really bad Christian

2416. because I don't have that love in my heart

2417. that emotion that loves the Lord like that

  2418. but you know what

2419. you're okay I got an answer for you

2420. because according to the Bible

2421. if you obey the Lord

2422. if you do those things even if you

  2423. don't have a heart for it

2424. the Bible God still interprets

2425. that as love because if you love me

  2426. keep my commandments

2427. and here's the great thing folks

2428. and this is what mature Christians

2429. this is how mature Christians behave okay

2430. they read the Bible when they're in love

2431. with the Bible but they read the Bible even if they're not

  2432. they go to church

2433. when they're excited and they go to church

  2434. when they're not

2435. they win souls to Christ

2436. when they're excited about soul winning

2437. and they win souls to Christ even if they're not

2438. there's times when I go out soul winning

2439. and I'm just like gun haul I'm like

2440. man I'm excited Lord please help me see someone

2441. saved I'm excited to talk to people

2442. I'm just you know knocking on doors

2443. but there's other times it's just like

2444. I'm not in the mood right now

2445. I'm not in the mood to go knock on doors

2446. especially in this hot weather

  2447. with all my kids

2448. get off the load you know just like

2449. just having to you know

2450. lead that sometimes I'm not

2451. but you know I do it anyways

2452. because that's what mature Christians do

  2453. because genuine love is

  2454. not only an emotion

2455. genuine love is also obedience

2456. so you know if you don't have the emotion

2457. don't feel bad but make sure you're doing

2458. what you're supposed to do

  2459. and obedience

2460. is the vehicle that leads you to the next

2461. mount on top of emotion

2462. so when you're on the mount you're like oh man

2463. I'm zealous for the Lord

  2464. I'm passionate I have

2465. zeal for God and then you just drop into

2466. the valley keep obeying God

  2467. because obedience to him

2468. and his word is like the momentum

2469. you need to get back to the top again

2470. but whether you're at the top

2471. or at the bottom obey God

  2472. emotion is great

  2473. I love having

  2474. being you know

2475. emotional about the things of God

2476. I love feeling emotions towards my wife

  2477. right I love having

2478. that inward affection towards my brothers

2479. but you know what if I don't

  2480. because I'm a carnal person

2481. because I'm a weak Christian at times

2482. because I'm not perfect guess what

2483. the Bible says that I can still

  2484. demonstrate genuine love

2485. through my obedience to his word

2486. so I don't have to feel guilty

  2487. just because I don't

2488. feel like I'm in love with the Lord

2489. feel like I'm in love

2490. with the Bible feel like I'm in love

2491. with my wife feel like I don't

2492. have an inward affection towards

2493. the brothers and sisters in Christ because the Bible says

2494. well if you do those things

2495. God still interprets that as love

2496. if you obey the Lord

  2497. you do those things

  2498. God says you love

2499. and that's important because I'm telling you

2500. churches like well you know

2501. something's wrong with you then

2502. something's wrong with you if you don't have that emotion

2503. well I would say something is wrong

2504. if you don't have the emotion and you're not obeying the Lord

2505. but if you're obeying the Lord

2506. you don't have the emotion

  2507. you're good

  2508. here's what it's called

  2509. life

2510. that's just how life is

  2511. very important

2512. let me read you one last verse here first John

2513. or should I say passage first John 5

2514. 1 says who shall I believe that Jesus is the Christ

  2515. is born of God

2516. and everyone that loveth him that beget

2517. loveth him also that has begotten of him

2518. by this we know that we love the children of God

2519. when we love God and keep his commandments

2520. for this is the love of God

2521. that we keep his commandments

2522. and his commandments are not

  2523. grievous the Bible says

  2524. so again genuine love

2525. is obedience to the Lord

  2526. and here is

2527. actually I have two more points

  2528. two more points

2529. let me skip that last one here

2530. I'm going to go into this one where do I have you turn

  2531. where

  2532. where

  2533. okay

  2534. go to Romans 13

2535. I just want to make sure you guys know where 1 Corinthians 13 is

  2536. genuine love hates evil

  2537. right

2538. genuine love hates evil the Bible tells us

2539. ye that loveth the Lord

  2540. hate evil

2541. now let me say this right now

2542. and that is that genuine love

  2543. works no evil

  2544. it hates evil

2545. but it worketh no ill

2546. towards his brethren or towards others

2547. meaning that you know I can't say

  2548. that I love Cody

2549. and doing evil unto Cody

  2550. right

2551. I can't say that I love my children and do evil to my children

  2552. that's not real love

2553. because love according to the Bible works no ill

  2554. look at Romans 13 verse 8

    Romans 13:8

  2555. oh no man anything

2556. but to love one another

2557. for he that loveth another

  2558. hath fulfilled the law

2559. for this thou shalt not commit adultery

2560. thou shalt not kill, thou shalt not steal, thou shalt not bear false witness

  2561. thou shalt not covet

2562. and if there be any other commandment it is briefly

  2563. comprehended in the same

2564. namely thou shalt love thy neighbor as I self

  2565. listen to this

2566. love worketh no ill to his neighbor

  2567. therefore love

2568. is the fulfilling of the law

  2569. what is it saying

2570. it's saying that if we have genuine

  2571. love towards others

2572. we're not going to do evil towards them

  2573. right

2574. now let me go ahead and talk about

2575. the whole Lindsay Clancy situation

2576. to give you a Biblical

  2577. perspective on this entire

  2578. case here okay

2579. you know obviously most of us

  2580. know about this situation

  2581. Lindsay Clancy

  2582. murdered her three children

  2583. in 2023

2584. she strangled her three children

2585. and right now they are

2586. you know she's going through

  2587. there's a

2588. there's an entire case going on whether she's

2589. going to be guilty of

2590. or she's going to plead insanity

2591. if she's guilty of insanity or not

2592. okay and here's the thing

2593. folks is that let me say a couple things regarding this whole

2594. situation just to make sure you have

2595. a Biblical perspective on this

2596. entire case okay first and foremost

2597. let me say number one

  2598. that I as a pastor

  2599. as a Christian and as a husband I

  2600. do sympathize with people

2601. who or women who go through

  2602. postpartum depression

  2603. I sympathize with that

  2604. 100% that is a

  2605. legitimate thing

2606. okay my wife went through that

2607. a couple years ago where she went through a state of psychosis

2608. and she was very ill

2609. and you know it was a hard time

2610. for my wife and I it was extremely difficult

  2611. okay and

2612. it helped me to realize like man

2613. you know women are the weaker

2614. best one in that regard especially

2615. because you know their hormones can just

2616. kind of drive them crazy

  2617. okay so I know

2618. that's a legitimate thing and you guys know

2619. that I preach about that

2620. not regularly but I do mention it a lot

2621. tell husbands to make sure you check on your wives

  2622. after they give birth

2623. because they can go through a lot of mental stuff

  2624. okay

  2625. however

  2626. I don't believe this is a situation

  2627. where a person

  2628. can use

2629. postpartum depression as an excuse

  2630. to kill her children

2631. okay now I'm not saying

  2632. that didn't play a role

  2633. in what she did

  2634. but I personally believe

  2635. according to the Bible

2636. that that woman is demonically possessed

  2637. demonically possessed

  2638. why because love

  2639. work at no ill

  2640. towards their neighbor

  2641. and folks you know

2642. it's important for us to talk about this because of the fact that

2643. you know this whole situation

  2644. has not produced women

2645. who want to defend this

2646. it's exposed that women today

2647. are willing to defend this crap

2648. and we live in such a

  2649. godless society today

2650. where feminism has infiltrated churches

2651. and America to the extent

2652. that a woman can literally

  2653. strangle her three children

2654. and women by and large in this country

2655. will try to defend that

  2656. oh man you know

2657. her husband folks the whole trial

  2658. it's not about whether

2659. she did it or not she said she did it

  2660. yup yeah

  2661. and I was like

2662. the conspiracy to her husband

2663. she said she did it

2664. the trial is not whether she did it or not

2665. the trial is whether she was

2666. sane or not now let me also say this is the mosaic law

  2667. doesn't carve out insanity

  2668. as a defense

2669. in the way modern courts do

2670. I was like well you know

  2671. she's insane so

  2672. okay she's insane

  2673. yeah she is

  2674. but she

  2675. we need her

  2676. yup

  2677. it's not another person

2678. she can't separate herself and say

2679. well the insane part of me is the one that did it

  2680. no you did it

  2681. the mosaic law

2682. doesn't carve out insanity as an excuse to murder

  2683. right

2684. we have such a stupid judicial system

2685. where I was just like well if she's insane

2686. then we'll just put her in an insane asylum

2687. and let me just be very clear

2688. she deserves the death penalty

  2689. she deserves a millstone

2690. to be tied about her neck

2691. to be drowned in the depths of the sea

2692. because she murdered her children

2693. and you know what anybody who advocates

2694. for that woman and her actions

2695. you know you're just as wicked

2696. you're godless and you know what

  2697. you should be reported

2698. and you know do you have children

2699. you know how are these women

  2700. like literally defending them

2701. with their children along their side

2702. if I was their kid I'd be like

  2703. hey

2704. do you agree with this

  2705. like

2706. she deserves the death penalty

2707. okay and I do believe

2708. that she was satanically possessed

2709. you're like well wouldn't you agree then

2710. that she shouldn't be convicted

2711. well you know Judas Iscari was also satanically possessed

2712. when he betrayed Jesus Christ

2713. and he still held responsible

  2714. he was mentally insane

  2715. because satan took over

  2716. he possessed them

2717. yet God held him accountable for that

2718. and so yes she does deserve the death penalty

2719. for that she is godless and wicked

  2720. and you know what

2721. I'm not standing up here standing in judgment of women

2722. who've gone through postpartum depression

2723. let me tell you this as someone with the experience

2724. of someone who's dealt with situations like that

2725. my wife who went through something like that

2726. you know what she eventually came out of it

2727. and you know what when she came out of it

2728. she realized like all those thoughts I was having

  2729. all the feelings

2730. and the emotions that I was experiencing

  2731. I know that they're wrong

  2732. Lindsay's not doing that

2733. and look people need to wake up and realize

2734. do you understand that she's pleading

  2735. not guilty

  2736. what do you mean

2737. so everyone knows she did it

  2738. she claims

2739. but she's pleading not guilty because she's saying

2740. well I was insane when I did it

  2741. so that's not repentance

  2742. that's not sorrow

2743. let me just explain something to you

2744. let me just be real with you

2745. if I ever did something like that

  2746. and I was insane

2747. I go up there and say I'm guilty

2748. and you better kill me now

2749. I want to die now

2750. and if you don't put me to death now

2751. every single day that I'm on this earth

2752. I'm going to look for a way to put myself to death

  2753. because as a father

2754. as a parent I don't know how I would be able to live with myself

2755. knowing that I took my children's life

2756. is that what she's doing

2757. not guilty because of insanity

  2758. insane

  2759. and you know what

2760. the only thing I'm sad for the children

2761. but you know I'm also sad for her

2762. I'm sad that she didn't finish the job when she jumped out the window

2763. jumped out the window, she paralyzed herself

  2764. and you know what

2765. I would say we don't even have to do this trial

  2766. I don't care if I'm insane or not

2767. I want the death penalty

2768. just end my suffering now

2769. because what parent in their sane mind

  2770. thereafter

2771. would be like yeah I'm not guilty

2772. that's not postpartum depression my friends

  2773. postpartum depression ends

  2774. people don't keep it

2775. for the rest of their life

  2776. because it's a hormonal thing

2777. you know hormones go up and down

  2778. they change

2779. you know women you know that

  2780. not not

  2781. they go through

2782. hormonal changes and you know what

  2783. postpartum depression is an

  2784. extreme

  2785. extreme version of that

2786. where they lose the progesterone

  2787. their estradiol the testosterone

  2788. goes up but eventually

  2789. over months

2790. monthly periods it actually ends up leveling out

2791. and obviously should people have helped her

  2792. of course

2793. should she have gone to help

2794. when she cried out for it yes

2795. of course but you know it's still

2796. that doesn't excuse what she did

2797. it doesn't excuse the fact that she did it

  2798. hormones level out

2799. and when hormones level out

2800. and people are no longer under that state

2801. of psychosis they recognize wow I was crazy

2802. and I guarantee you moms in here

2803. who have gone through something like that

2804. baby blues or whatever months later

2805. a year later you're like yeah I was thinking

  2806. some dumb stuff

2807. like you recognize whatever thoughts you were having

2808. were wrong you recognize like

2809. I'm not that sad you recognize

2810. the world's not falling apart

2811. like you come to your senses

  2812. eventually

  2813. she's not

  2814. I mean she's literally

  2815. saying well I don't deserve

  2816. to be put

2817. in prison for life just

2818. you know put me in a mental

2819. mental institution no you're right

2820. you don't deserve to be put in prison for life

2821. you deserve to die is what you deserve

  2822. and I can't even get into

2823. all the specifics because there's a mixed crowd

  2824. here but

2825. just understand first and foremost think about this

  2826. okay those

2827. people who want to claim well

2828. postpartum depression that can do that to you

2829. well number one there was three children

2830. that she did this to

2831. meaning once she did it to one

2832. she did it to the other

2833. and then the other while they're there

  2834. you understand that

  2835. number two strangulation

2836. and that's all I'm going to say

  2837. of that strangulation

  2838. takes a long time

  2839. put it that way

  2840. you know

  2841. a person

2842. who maybe under the influence

2843. realizes like what am I doing

2844. she finished the job and then went to the next

2845. and went to the next

  2846. she's demonically possessed

  2847. she's satanically

  2848. possessed she's a godless woman

2849. and yes she is a reprobate

  2850. because you know what

  2851. she's past feeling

2852. she doesn't have natural affection

  2853. because no person

2854. and look you say well you know

2855. I've gone through postpartum depression

2856. and I've had emotions like that

2857. where I feel like I've gone crazy and I've had emotions like that

2858. but most of the time

2859. when people have emotions like this

2860. when women have emotions like that

2861. it's not a matter of that she ends up wanting

2862. she's tempted to harm her children

2863. most of the time it's just like

2864. I feel like I'm so crazy I might harm my children

2865. which is the major difference between the two

  2866. it's like

2867. tempted to harm your children

2868. and worrying that you're not

2869. in the right state of mind that you might harm your children

  2870. two different things

  2871. number two

2872. most women who go through this postpartum depression

2873. and they feel this way

2874. they want to take themselves out of the picture

  2875. yeah

  2876. not others

  2877. right

  2878. and so you know

2879. I have no sympathy for her

2880. and you know on Thursday I called her a reprobate

2881. and then Friday I was kind of looking to her

2882. I'm like oh she went through postpartum depression

2883. maybe there's some legitimacy to this

  2884. I think I answered a matter before I heard it

2885. let me investigate this a little more

2886. and then I got all the details

2887. I was like nope spirit of God was upon me

  2888. I was right

  2889. yeah

  2890. she's a reprobate

  2891. you know

2892. and here's the thing folks

2893. there was like a chaplain that came afterwards

  2894. some dyke chaplain

2895. afterwards and came up to her

2896. and she's like yeah I visited her

2897. and why are you visiting her

2898. this woman deserves no sympathy

  2899. no sympathy

  2900. she's a murderer

2901. and he's like oh and I went up to her

2902. and this is what she said she's like

2903. I'm just happy they're in heaven now

  2904. what

  2905. folks you understand

  2906. how much insanity

2907. like a parent would go through

2908. if they would commit something like that

2909. I feel like if I were to do something like that

2910. it would just drive me mentally insane

  2911. right

2912. you wouldn't be able to live with yourself

2913. it would just drive me mentally insane

2914. I wouldn't be thinking well my children are in heaven

2915. and just kind of happy go lucky

  2916. that's a godless

  2917. reprobate

  2918. no love

2919. she has no sincere love

2920. there is no genuine love there

2921. and you know what the state in which women are in

  2922. today in 2026

  2923. is disgusting

  2924. I hate feminism

2925. and you know what all these women

2926. who are promoting this we better keep an eye on them

2927. and you better make sure that you as a woman

2928. are not falling into the same trap

  2929. sympathizing with women

  2930. who murder their children

2931. trying to make excuses calling her the victim

2932. the children are the victim

  2933. not her

  2934. but she's paralyzed

  2935. yeah

2936. we need to continue the paralyzation

2937. we need to keep feminism out of the church

  2938. this godless attitude

  2939. out of the church

  2940. this attitude that says

  2941. well you know

2942. and by the way if Lindsay would have killed

  2943. like three dogs

2944. these same feminists would have wanted her head

  2945. on the platter

  2946. that's a fact

  2947. right

2948. if she would have killed three kittens

2949. and three dogs for measure

2950. they would have wanted her head on the platter

2951. and make no mistake about it

2952. there's a bunch of reprobates out there

  2953. who are promoting this

2954. they're for her because they want to enable

  2955. and create a society

  2956. that despises children

2957. that allows women to just behave like absolute

  2958. beast

  2959. without any consequences

  2960. it's disgusting

2961. I know the trial is still going

  2962. hopefully she does get

  2963. life in prison

2964. because that's the best our country could do apparently

2965. I prefer that over the mental institution

  2966. and hopefully

2967. when she's in prison she hangs herself

  2968. oh she can't she's paralyzed

  2969. but you know

  2970. oh that's so

2971. I can't believe you would say something like that

2972. oh should I talk about the kids again

  2973. are you sympathizing

  2974. with murderers of children

  2975. let me

  2976. what would Jesus say

  2977. tie a millstone

  2978. about their neck

2979. and drown them in the depths of the sea

2980. you know that's called strangulation

  2981. asphyxiation

  2982. drowning

  2983. my Jesus said that

2984. that's not genuine love friends

  2985. you know

  2986. and my heart breaks

  2987. for the children

2988. obviously it happened three years ago

  2989. and you know

2990. I try not to think about it too deeply

  2991. because it's so severe

2992. it's such a disgusting thing that happened

2993. and it shatters my heart

  2994. and look folks

2995. just look at a picture at Lindsay

  2996. there's nothing there

2997. you guys know what I'm talking about

2998. look at right here nothing there

2999. love work with no ill to his neighbor

3000. there is no love there

3001. and it's showing us that we're just

3002. we live in a disgusting world

3003. and after I was done researching I'm like

  3004. I hate this world

  3005. I

  3006. hate this place

  3007. I just hate it

3008. I hate that we live in a society like this

3009. I hate that women defend this stuff

3010. I hate that women exist like this

3011. I hate that she has accumulated

  3012. a million dollars

3013. from literally people giving to her

  3014. like what

  3015. I hate that

3016. women are blaming the husband and

3017. I don't know the husband he might be a piece of crap

  3018. I don't know probably is

  3019. I don't know

3020. and I don't care but you know what he didn't do it

  3021. I hate that

3022. they're out there with pink shirts

3023. and you know oh man

  3024. she's a victim

3025. I hate the fact that

  3026. there's literally thousands

3027. and thousands and thousands of women out there

3028. who are saying yeah see

  3029. it was his fault

  3030. yeah see

  3031. the system failed her

  3032. she did it

3033. hold people accountable for their

  3034. actions my friends

3035. and so what's the sermon today

  3036. genuine love

3037. do you have genuine love? I have genuine love

3038. for the kids who died

3039. and the Bible says you that love the Lord hate evil

  3040. that's why I hate Lindsay

3041. can't you love both? Nope

3042. how can I love her when she

3043. literally violated and took the lives of her children

  3044. a baby

  3045. a baby

  3046. you know that's disgusting

3047. so it's important for us

3048. to recognize the importance of having

  3049. sincere love

3050. and recognizing that that's not at the exclusion

  3051. of hating

3052. it's not at the exclusion of judging

3053. that's not at the exclusion of telling the truth

3054. it's not at the exclusion of that

3055. we need to make sure that we cultivate

  3056. sincere genuine love

3057. and that we define it

  3058. according to the Bible

  3059. not according to Gandhi

  3060. not according to

3061. you know unsaved people or your favorite

  3062. poet

3063. you define it according to the Bible

3064. thank you so much for your word

3065. Lord I pray that you

3066. help us as your people to develop and cultivate

  3067. sincere genuine love Lord

  3068. for the innocent

  3069. for the righteous

3070. and Lord I pray that

  3071. Lindsay would get

3072. the fullest extent of the law

3073. upon her Lord that you would judge her

3074. severely and obviously we know that

3075. ultimately when she does die you will punish her

3076. severely and we thank God

  3077. for that Lord because

3078. in our hearts we grieve over

3079. the injustices of this world

3080. and I pray that Lord you would help

3081. us as your people to have

3082. have solace in the fact that

3083. those children are in heaven

3084. and I pray that Lord you would

3085. again help us as your people to just

  3086. continue to love

  3087. those who

3088. merit our love Lord but even the unsaved

3089. who don't merit the love we need to give them the gospel

3090. we need to get them saved and pray for their salvation

3091. we need to pray that

  3092. backslitting Christians

3093. would return back to the fold

3094. and we need to pray that

3095. we could be a blessing to those around us as well

3096. and we love you Lord we thank you

3097. pray this in Jesus name amen
