  1. Amen.

  2. Men, this morning I wanna focus on this story

  3. at the beginning of John chapter eight,

  4. the famous story of the woman taken in adultery

  5. that is brought to Jesus.

  6. And this is a really famous story.

  7. And in fact, I would say that it's a beloved story

  8. that has been preached on and talked about

  9. over and over again.

  10. It's probably one of the most famous stories

  11. in the Bible in a lot of ways.

  12. And the funny thing about this

  13. is that the modern so-called textual scholars

  14. and textual critics are actually attacking this passage

  15. and trying to claim that it doesn't belong in the Word of God.

  16. And in fact, if you have any of these modern versions

  17. like the NIV, the Holman Christian Standard Bible,

  18. the ESV, all of these modern versions of the Bible

  19. will take out entire verses out of the New Testament.

  20. They'll typically take out approximately 16 complete verses.

  21. But then another thing they'll do

  22. is they'll put a note around this passage saying,

  23. oh, this probably isn't real.

  24. This probably isn't original.

  25. Some of the oldest, most reliable manuscripts don't have.

  26. This would, of course, a total lie and a fraud

  27. because the two manuscripts that don't have it

  28. are the most unreliable pieces of junk ever discovered

  29. in the history of archeology.

  30. But they'll attack a giant section

  31. at the end of the Gospel of Mark, 12 verses.

  32. And they'll say, oh, this doesn't belong here.

  33. And then they'll take these 12 verses from John 7.53

  34. to John 8.11 and claim, oh, this isn't real, whatever.

  35. But here's the thing about God's Word

  36. is that God's Word is self-authenticating, right?

  37. God's Word proves itself to be God's Word

  38. because the sheep hear the voice of the shepherd

  39. and they know the voice of the shepherd

  40. and they don't know the voice of strangers.

  41. And it's interesting how Christians

  42. have universally loved and accepted these passages

  43. and these stories as the Word of God.

  44. So you expect me to believe that spirit-filled,

  45. spirit-led Christians and preachers

  46. just absolutely love counterfeit scripture?

  47. No, what they actually love

  48. is the actual real Word of God.

  49. And people love the Gospel of John

  50. because it's the Word of God.

  51. They love this story in particular

  52. because it's the Word of God.

  53. Okay, and because the Lord speaks to us

  54. through this passage.

  55. Now here's what's funny about this

  56. is that if you go all the way back to the year 420 AD,

  57. so going back 1600 years,

  58. of course the famous theologian slash philosopher,

  59. Augustine wrote and said that there were people out there

  60. who were removing this passage from the Gospel of John

  61. because they were nervous about the fact

  62. that it seemed like Jesus is going too easy on adultery

  63. or that it could promote loose living

  64. or somehow go soft on sin or something like that.

  65. So it's not like we're just making this up, folks.

  66. The Word of God, there are people out there

  67. that have tampered with it and removed passages

  68. and you can easily see when you're investigating

  69. the crime here of mutilating God's Word,

  70. you can see the motive.

  71. Anytime you're investigating a crime,

  72. well what's the motive?

  73. Here's the motive for removing this story

  74. is that people are misunderstanding the story

  75. and because they misunderstood the story

  76. because they have a wrong interpretation of the story,

  77. they're like, oh, this is teaching anarchy.

  78. This is teaching us to go soft on sin and adultery.

  79. Get rid of it, cut it out.

  80. Folks, cutting things out of the Word of God

  81. is damnable, right?

  82. Remember the curses in Revelation

  83. on those who would add to or remove from God's Word?

  84. Taking this out is heretical and damnable

  85. and here's what's funny too,

  86. is that the modern version crowd, as I said,

  87. NIV, ESV types, the people are putting these Bibles together

  88. don't believe this is authentic

  89. and yet they include it anyway in their Bibles, why?

  90. Because you couldn't sell a Bible

  91. that doesn't have this story in it,

  92. it would freak people out, like where's my story?

  93. Where's my Bible story?

  94. Where is it?

  95. Everybody expects it to be there.

  96. Nobody wants the book of John, chapter eight,

  97. to start with verse number 12, right?

  98. That'd feel weird when you're reading, it just goes eight, 12.

  99. So if it's a big sin to remove from God's Word,

  100. we shouldn't remove, right?

  101. But these bozos are hypocrites

  102. because it's also a big sin to add to God's Word.

  103. So if they believe it's fake,

  104. why do they put it in their Bible?

  105. Because they're big-time hypocrites

  106. because what they're doing is trying to make a buck,

  107. trying to make money

  108. and what they're trying to do

  109. is wean people off of it slowly

  110. by just putting notes like,

  111. yeah, this probably isn't real or whatever.

  112. You wanna know another verse

  113. that they don't believe is real?

  114. The verse where Jesus says father,

  115. forgive them for they know not what they do.

  116. I mean, what a cool verse that everybody loves

  117. and everybody quotes that speaks to our hearts

  118. because it's the Word of God.

  119. They're like, oh, this probably isn't authentic.

  120. Well, nobody asked you egghead fool, nobody cares.

  121. This is the real Word of God.

  122. And again, what's the motive for removing it?

  123. A misunderstanding of it.

  124. Because if we actually get the right understanding,

  125. we would know Jesus is not teaching anarchy.

  126. He's not teaching us to go soft on sin.

  127. And he's not teaching for a criminal justice system

  128. that just forgives everyone and doesn't punish anything.

  129. Those are dumb interpretations,

  130. but unfortunately, that's the interpretation

  131. I seem to hear the most in 2026 America.

  132. You hear a lot of preachers mixing this up

  133. and getting it wrong.

  134. So let's actually look at the story this morning

  135. and let's enjoy this powerful passage in the Word of God

  136. and let's actually get a real interpretation

  137. based on comparing scripture with scripture.

  138. So look if you would at John chapter eight verse one,

  139. it says Jesus went under the Mount of Olives

  140. and early in the morning,

  141. he came again into the temple

  142. and all the people came unto him

  143. and he sat down and taught them.

  144. Now look, Jesus Christ is preaching to huge crowds

  145. and the Jews, especially the Pharisees

  146. and the scribes are super envious.

  147. They cannot stand how popular Jesus is

  148. and how people are coming to hear him

  149. because they want the attention,

  150. they want the glory for themselves.

  151. And the whole book of Acts, they're super envious.

  152. So what they always wanna do is destroy Jesus

  153. and take him down.

  154. We saw last week that they were literally

  155. trying to kill him,

  156. but in the crowds they can't get away with killing him.

  157. So what they wanna do is they wanna make him look stupid.

  158. That's their goal is to embarrass him publicly.

  159. Now there's a theme throughout the gospels

  160. of them trying to kind of catch Jesus

  161. between a rock and a hard place like a catch 22.

  162. Here's a famous example.

  163. They come to Jesus elsewhere and they say to him,

  164. hey, is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar or not?

  165. Do we give the tribute or do we not give the tribute?

  166. Here's what they're trying to do.

  167. They're trying to get him to break the law.

  168. They want Jesus to say, oh, don't pay your taxes

  169. and then they can go run to the Romans

  170. and hey, this guy's telling us not to pay our taxes, right?

  171. And then if he says, yes, do pay your taxes

  172. and yes, do give Caesar the taxes,

  173. then they're gonna go to all the like radical,

  174. libertarian factions of the Jews who wanna be free.

  175. Oh, this guy's just pro-Roman.

  176. He's a FEMA pastor.

  177. He's a government shill.

  178. He's just in bed with the Romans.

  179. So it's like they're trying to catch him

  180. in these situations where he can't win

  181. and he always outsmarts them, right?

  182. He's always has this clever answer.

  183. Like he says, okay, give me the tribute money.

  184. Show me the coin.

  185. Okay, whose face is on this coin?

  186. Caesar's face?

  187. Okay, render unto Caesar the things that be Caesar's

  188. and render unto God the things that be God.

  189. Just kinda makes them look dumb.

  190. Or they come to him and try to trick him

  191. and trip him up and they say,

  192. hey, there was this woman and she was married

  193. and she didn't have any kids

  194. and then her husband died

  195. so then she has to marry his brother

  196. and then he dies and then she ends up marrying

  197. all seven brothers in succession.

  198. None of them has any kids.

  199. Last of all, the woman dies also, just this wild scenario.

  200. And then they're like, in the resurrection therefore,

  201. whose wife shall she be?

  202. They all seven had her, hmm?

  203. And of course, Jesus proves the stupidity

  204. of this question because he says,

  205. well, in the resurrection, they neither marry

  206. nor are they given in marriage

  207. but they're like the angels in heaven.

  208. You know, we're not Mormons

  209. where we believe in these eternal marriages

  210. and living on other planets

  211. and producing spirit babies for all eternity.

  212. You know, you only have to do the pregnancies

  213. on this earth, ladies, okay?

  214. And then you're done, you've done your shift,

  215. you've done your time,

  216. you're not gonna be eternally pregnant, okay?

  217. And so they were wrong

  218. and he ends up making the Sadducees look so dumb

  219. because not only does he debunk their dumb objection,

  220. then he says, well, what about when God says,

  221. I'm the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob?

  222. God's not the God of the dead, but of the living.

  223. And then it says that after that,

  224. they just dare not ask him any more questions

  225. because every time they try to make him look stupid,

  226. they end up looking stupid.

  227. Every time they try to get him in trouble with the law,

  228. they get in trouble.

  229. And so here's the thing, right here,

  230. we see they're doing the exact same thing,

  231. they're coming to tempt Jesus.

  232. They're jealous that he has the crowds

  233. and so they're trying to tempt him

  234. and put him in a position where he can't win.

  235. With the Romans or the Jews,

  236. somebody's gonna be mad at him.

  237. So look what they do.

  238. It says, the scribes and Pharisees

  239. brought unto him a woman taken in adultery.

  240. And when they had said her in the midst,

  241. they say unto him, Master,

  242. this woman was taken in adultery in the very act.

  243. Now Moses and the law commanded

  244. that such should be stoned.

  245. But what sayest thou?

  246. See, what they're trying to do here

  247. is they're trying to pit Jesus against the word of God.

  248. Because guess what?

  249. It's not Moses that commanded that in the law,

  250. it's God Almighty that commanded that in the law.

  251. Moses did not come up with the law out of his own heart.

  252. He went up to Mount Sinai and God gave him that law.

  253. The Ten Commandments were written in stone

  254. with the very finger of God

  255. and the rest of the law was dictated verbally to Moses

  256. and Moses wrote down as the Lord is dictating it

  257. from the cloudy pillar on the Mount.

  258. And so to sit there and say like,

  259. well, Moses commanded this, but what do you say?

  260. They're trying to get him to contradict the word of God,

  261. to contradict the Bible.

  262. And what has Jesus already preached?

  263. He said, think not that I'm coming

  264. to destroy the law of the prophets.

  265. I came not to destroy, but to fulfill.

  266. For verily I say unto you till heaven and earth pass

  267. one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law

  268. till all be fulfilled whosoever therefore shall break

  269. one of these least commandments and shall teach men

  270. so the same shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven

  271. and whosoever shall do and teach them

  272. the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

  273. So Jesus is reiterating and saying,

  274. the law of Moses is God's word.

  275. The Old Testament is God's word.

  276. The Holy Ghost spake by the mouth of David the prophet.

  277. The Holy Ghost spake through the burning bush

  278. and through the cloudy pillar and so forth.

  279. And so we know that Jesus is not at odds with the Bible.

  280. Jesus Christ came to preach and to fulfill the word of God

  281. not to negate or criticize or twist the word of God.

  282. So what they're trying to do is they're trying to pit

  283. Jesus against the Bible by saying,

  284. well, Moses said she should be stoned,

  285. but what say is that?

  286. Now, what's the other side of this equation?

  287. Because on the one hand, Jesus could say,

  288. well, I'm gonna say something different

  289. than what the Bible says.

  290. Well, then now he's not consistent with the Bible

  291. and they win because they're gonna be able to space.

  292. See, look, Jesus doesn't even agree with the Bible.

  293. But what if Jesus says, well, if Moses said to stoner,

  294. let's do it, let's stoner right now.

  295. Then they're gonna get him in trouble with the Romans.

  296. How do I know that?

  297. Well, same book of the Bible.

  298. Keep your finger there.

  299. Go to John 18, verse 31.

    John 18:31

  300. And you see, God has given us all the context

  301. that we need to understand this story.

  302. It's in the same book of the Bible.

  303. Like in John chapter eight,

  304. if you're wondering what's going on here,

  305. we'll go to chapter 18 and you can see exactly

  306. what's going on in verse 31.

  307. It says, then said Pilate unto them,

  308. this is Pilate speaking to the Jews,

  309. take ye him and judge him according to your law.

  310. The Jews therefore said unto him,

  311. it is not lawful for us to put any man to death.

  312. Does everybody see that?

  313. It is not lawful for us to put any man to death.

  314. So they're trying to put Jesus between a rock and a hard place

  315. by saying, okay, he said that she should be stoned.

  316. What do you say?

  317. He either has to go against the Bible

  318. or he has to go against the Roman government

  319. because the Roman government has said

  320. that it is not lawful for them

  321. to just judge people according to the law

  322. and put them to death.

  323. And really, we can understand this

  324. because in 2026 America,

  325. is it lawful for us to just put adulterers to death

  326. or just put sodomites to death or something?

  327. And I've had people literally come at me

  328. with this exact same challenge

  329. and say, all right Pastor Anderson,

  330. if you believe in the death penalty for sodomites,

  331. then show me all the sodomites that you've killed.

  332. And they think it's some kind of a gotcha,

  333. but it's like, hold on a second.

  334. The Bible clearly teaches us

  335. that we should obey the law of the land.

  336. We are supposed to obey the powers that be.

  337. We're not supposed to be out there

  338. doing vigilante justice

  339. and just enforcing things from the Bible.

  340. It's not our place.

  341. Now, the government,

  342. do we want the government to punish stealing?

  343. Yeah.

  344. Do we want the government to punish murder?

  345. Yeah, we want the government.

  346. I mean, I think everybody,

  347. everybody wants the government to punish murder.

  348. I think everybody wants the government

  349. to punish stealing.

  350. I think we'd all agree on that.

  351. But does that mean that we're gonna go out

  352. and enforce those things ourselves?

  353. I mean, if we know that someone's guilty of murder

  354. and they get off the hook,

  355. are we allowed to just go kill that person?

  356. Can we just be like, doggone it?

  357. I know OJ's guilty, you know, let's go.

  358. That's not our place.

  359. We wrestle not against flesh and blood,

  360. but against principalities, against powers,

  361. against the rulers of the darkness of this world,

  362. against spiritual wickedness in high places.

  363. And it is not our job to be in a physical fight,

  364. to go out and physically harm people

  365. or physically kill anyone,

  366. or to enforce criminal laws ourselves

  367. or to come up with, you know,

  368. what we think the law should be

  369. and go out and do that, you know,

  370. we are supposed to follow the laws of the land,

  371. even if they're unjust.

  372. I mean, there are laws in America that don't make sense,

  373. but it is what it is.

  374. We have to just sit back

  375. and hope that God will take care of things from heaven.

  376. You know, if things aren't fair on this earth,

  377. you know, this is what we're stuck with.

  378. And so it says in verse number,

  379. and you say, well, I think you're just making this up,

  380. you know, well, let me prove to you

  381. that my interpretation's right.

  382. Look down at your Bible there in John chapter eight,

  383. because I just showed you in chapter 18

  384. where it's illegal for them to put anyone to death.

  385. The motive is explained.

  386. I'm not making this up.

  387. It says in verse five,

  388. now Moses in the law commanded us

  389. that such should be stolen,

  390. but what says now?

  391. This, they said, tempting him

  392. that they might have to accuse him.

  393. The whole point of this whole song and dance

  394. is finding a way to accuse Jesus.

  395. Accusing of what?

  396. To accuse him of the Romans,

  397. the Romans saying this guy is a vigilante.

  398. He's taken the law into his own hands.

  399. He commanded for a woman to be stoned to death,

  400. and Roman law forbids that.

  401. Or on the other hand,

  402. they could accuse him to the Jews

  403. and say, well, this guy doesn't believe in Moses.

  404. This guy's contradicting the law of God.

  405. So they're putting him in a position where he can't win,

  406. but thankfully Jesus is too smart for this,

  407. and so he's able to just turn this right around on them.

  408. And so they're tempting him,

  409. they're trying to accuse him,

  410. but Jesus stooped down

  411. and with his finger rode on the ground

  412. as though he heard them not.

  413. So he kind of just ignores them

  414. and stups down and rides on the ground.

  415. And by the way, here's the thing,

  416. sometimes people might come at you with something

  417. that kind of puts you on the spot,

  418. puts you between a rock and a hard place,

  419. puts you in a weird situation.

  420. You know, sometimes it's probably a good idea

  421. to just take a break and to just stop and think

  422. and not feel like you have to answer everything

  423. right away.

  424. You can always stop and think

  425. and get back to someone on a question.

  426. And this is part of what I don't like about debates

  427. and the whole debate culture

  428. is that really a debate is just really just

  429. who can think the fastest?

  430. Who can just think on their feet or whatever?

  431. Because if you think about it,

  432. you could just take your time

  433. and slowly respond to things

  434. and you could have someone maybe make a statement

  435. and then two days later come back

  436. and you'll see these kind of online flame wars

  437. where one person says something

  438. and then the next day somebody says something

  439. and then the next day somebody says something.

  440. You know, that is superior to a debate

  441. because at least people are thinking before they talk.

  442. At least people have a chance to think

  443. and reference things.

  444. Really, I feel like debates are more just about ego

  445. and pride of, hey, look how smart I am.

  446. Look how fast I can think.

  447. Look how I can just make the other guy look stupid

  448. or whatever.

  449. It doesn't really prove what the truth is

  450. because maybe one guy has to slowly pull a book

  451. off the shelf.

  452. You know, I'm picturing that cartoon character

  453. that has the little doggy with the bangs over his eyes

  454. and the glasses.

  455. Isn't there a guy like that?

  456. He moves real slow.

  457. I might be mixing a few 1960s era cartoon characters.

  458. Who knows what I'm talking about though?

  459. Isn't there some really slow guy?

  460. What's he called or who is he?

  461. What's his name?

  462. Droopy Dog.

  463. Droopy Dog?

  464. Yeah, that sounds right.

  465. So seriously, you could have a super smart guy

  466. and he's super right

  467. and maybe he's Droopy Dog or whatever

  468. and he's just, I can just picture him

  469. to slowly going over to the shelf,

  470. pull it off a book,

  471. turning to all the play

  472. and just totally being right

  473. and proving the other guy wrong.

  474. But in a debate, it's just whoever's just kind of,

  475. you know, just got all the little quips

  476. and whatever on the fly.

  477. You know, here's the thing, Jesus Christ,

  478. he doesn't just maybe have the one liner

  479. on the tip of his tongue here,

  480. just you know, just shoot right back.

  481. He does come up with a great one liner.

  482. He does end up shutting him down

  483. but he stops and thinks about it first.

  484. Takes a little time.

  485. And you know what, sometimes it's smart

  486. to say to people, hey, I'm not sure on that.

  487. Let me get back to you.

  488. Let me look that up.

  489. Let me think about that.

  490. Let me sleep on that.

  491. You don't always have to just fire back immediately.

  492. You know, sometimes better to think before you talk.

  493. What does the Bible say?

  494. Slow to speak.

  495. Let a man be swift to hear.

  496. Slow to speak, slow to wrath.

  497. Is this not Jesus being slow to speak?

  498. They're hammering him

  499. and he's just kind of just ignores them

  500. and he's just writing on the dirt

  501. and just thinking things over and thinking about it.

  502. And he ends up having time to come up with a great answer.

  503. There's the thing about Jesus Christ.

  504. Obviously we know Jesus Christ is God in the flesh.

  505. Jesus Christ is divine,

  506. but Jesus Christ is also human and has a human brain.

  507. He's actually thinking like a human.

  508. He wasn't just pretending to be a human folks.

  509. He actually became flesh and dwelt among us.

  510. And the Bible even talks about how Jesus

  511. when he was growing up increased in wisdom.

  512. You know, he's learning and going through all the things

  513. that a human being goes through.

  514. And I preached about that in my sermons

  515. on the humanity of Christ

  516. that made a bunch of weird Catholic types heads explode.

  517. But it's still, it's everything I said was true though

  518. and biblical.

  519. So Jesus is thinking about it.

  520. You know, he doesn't just fire off an answer immediately

  521. but he thinks about it.

  522. But then it says in verse seven

  523. when they continued asking him.

  524. So they're not gonna let it go.

  525. They keep badgering him about it.

  526. And so he said unto them,

  527. he that is without sin among you,

  528. let him first cast a stone at her.

  529. And again, he stooped down and wrote on the ground.

  530. And so the thing that is so clever about this answer

  531. is that basically he's able to neither contradict

  532. God's law nor to say anything

  533. that's gonna get him in trouble with the Romans

  534. because obviously there's no one there

  535. who's actually sinless who can carry this out.

  536. And at the same time,

  537. he's not saying that God's law is wrong

  538. because of course God's law is not wrong.

  539. And so he says, well, whoever's without sin among you,

  540. let him first cast a stone at her.

  541. And again, he stooped down and wrote on the ground.

  542. And they which heard it being convicted

  543. by their own conscience went out one by one

  544. beginning at the eldest, even under the last

  545. and Jesus was left alone

  546. and the woman standing in the midst.

  547. When Jesus had lifted up himself

  548. and saw none but the woman he said unto her,

  549. woman, where are those thine accusers?

  550. Have no man condemned thee?

  551. She said, no man, Lord, and Jesus said unto her,

  552. neither do I condemn thee, go and sin no more.

  553. Now, when we stop and think about

  554. the actual meaning of this passage,

  555. the right interpretation and the right conclusions

  556. that we draw from it,

  557. based on the actual story in the context,

  558. number one, we see that they're trying to trick Jesus

  559. and get him in trouble and get him arrested

  560. and Jesus outsmarts them once again.

  561. It's a fun story about Jesus outsmarting his opponents

  562. one more time, making them look stupid one more time, right?

  563. That's a common theme in the four gospels, okay?

  564. Number two, there's an important lesson here

  565. about the fact that all have sinned

  566. and come short of the glory of God.

  567. Everybody is a sinner.

  568. And so if we stop and think about all the sins

  569. of our own heart and life,

  570. that should actually cause us to feel guilty

  571. and realize, hey, we have sinned too.

  572. Here's another important lesson from the story

  573. is that Jesus Christ, the Son of God,

  574. has the power to forgive sins.

  575. Now, everyone does not have this power.

  576. I cannot walk down the street forgiving people

  577. of their sins and absolving them of their sins.

  578. I'm not gonna have a line after the service

  579. where you come confess your sins to me

  580. and I forgive you and I absolve you.

  581. You know, who can forgive sins but God only, right?

  582. So Jesus Christ here has the power to forgive sins

  583. even if people are guilty, even if they do deserve,

  584. I mean, look, this woman was caught

  585. in the very act of adultery and flagrante.

  586. She was caught in the very act.

  587. She's for sure guilty.

  588. She deserves to be put to death,

  589. according to the law of Moses,

  590. according to just all decency and morality

  591. in most societies throughout history.

  592. But here's the thing, even people who are guilty

  593. and do deserve a punishment can be pardoned by Jesus, right?

  594. The murderer can be pardoned by Jesus.

  595. The adulterer can be pardoned by Jesus, right?

  596. The thief and the liar and the blasphemer.

  597. Jesus Christ has the power on earth to forgive sins.

  598. That's what the Bible says.

  599. And so really what this should be pointing us to

  600. is Jesus is our savior.

  601. Jesus, because he was going to die for us

  602. and be buried and rise again the third day

  603. and shed his blood for us,

  604. he has the supernatural ability to forgive sins.

  605. Now, here's the thing, in the United States of America,

  606. you know who has the power to just pardon crimes

  607. and just pardon criminals and just let criminals off the hook,

  608. even if they're super guilty,

  609. even if they're 100% guilty,

  610. even if they deserve a punishment,

  611. you know who can pardon them for absolutely

  612. any reason he wants or no reason at all?

  613. The president of the United States

  614. has the power to pardon people.

  615. Did you know that?

  616. The president today could pardon whoever he wants today.

  617. Now, typically what they do

  618. is they do this on their last day of office.

  619. They don't typically do it while they're in office.

  620. They typically like to do it when they're leaving,

  621. you know, because then if people are mad about it,

  622. it's like, well, tough, nuts to you

  623. because it's over, I'm done anyway, so whatever.

  624. So what they do is they usually wait till the very end

  625. and they have a whole bunch of staff

  626. and a whole bunch of people that will bring them

  627. all the letters and people that have written in

  628. saying why they should get a pardon, right?

  629. And so there are a lot of people

  630. that have been wrongfully put in prison

  631. or maybe they've been rightfully put in prison,

  632. but they've shown that they're super sorry

  633. and they're super repentant

  634. and they've done really good

  635. and they're trying to make things better.

  636. And so, hey, you know, the president

  637. might just cut them some slack.

  638. And so there's a staff that goes through the pleas

  639. for clemency and will give like suggestions

  640. to the president whom he should pardon

  641. and it's up to him ultimately though

  642. who he's gonna pardon.

  643. And then also sometimes they'll pardon

  644. like their buddies and friends

  645. and you know, there's like maybe corrupt things going on

  646. where back room deals are happening

  647. and money's exchanging hands or whatever.

  648. But you know, that's all bad

  649. but the idea of a president pardoning isn't bad.

  650. You know, and I believe that the governor

  651. can pardon people as well.

  652. The governor of the state, I'm not 100% sure about that

  653. but I think governors of states also have abilities

  654. to pardon people as well.

  655. And so here's the thing.

  656. Just because the president pardons one person,

  657. does that mean we're just never gonna punish

  658. a criminal again?

  659. Think about how stupid this is.

  660. I mean, what if somebody commits murder?

  661. The president says, you know what?

  662. We're gonna show mercy on this guy.

  663. In this one particular case, we're gonna make an exception.

  664. We're gonna show mercy.

  665. I'm gonna pardon this guy.

  666. Does that mean well every murderer gets out of prison?

  667. Is that what that means?

  668. You'd say that's absurd, that's stupid, that's crazy.

  669. He's pardoning this one person.

  670. He's not pardoning everybody.

  671. Does everybody understand?

  672. Jesus Christ is pardoning this one person.

  673. That's what actually happened in this story.

  674. This woman is super guilty, deserves the punishment,

  675. and yet Jesus pardons her.

  676. Does he have the power to do that?

  677. As the king of kings, Lord of lords,

  678. son of God, savior of the world?

  679. Yes, absolutely.

  680. And by the way, every time the president

  681. pardons someone, every time the governor pardons someone,

  682. you know, it's a picture of salvation

  683. because we all are going to heaven

  684. because we've been pardoned by the Lord

  685. because we're all sinners, we're all guilty.

  686. We all deserve to go to hell when we die

  687. but we've been pardoned.

  688. Now think about King David in the Old Testament.

  689. Because people will try to say,

  690. no, no, no, what the Bible saying here is

  691. in the New Testament it's all different

  692. and just, you know, it's just an adultery,

  693. free for all, legally speaking.

  694. You know, it's a sin but no more punishment for adultery.

  695. Adultery is just legal now.

  696. This is a stupid interpretation.

  697. To sit there and say, or people will say this,

  698. this is Jesus abolishing the death penalty.

  699. They will literally read this and say,

  700. Jesus is doing away with the death penalty here

  701. and we're going to prove that's false

  702. but this is the kind of bad doctrine that's being taught today

  703. even in independent fundamental Baptist churches

  704. and it's, I think it's stupid and absurd

  705. and you know what, when I was growing up

  706. in the 80s and 90s, only the most liberal churches

  707. would teach this.

  708. Super liberal, like United Methodists,

  709. yeah, you'd expect them to be anti-death penalty

  710. but no fundamental Baptist were against the death penalty.

  711. It's absurd, okay.

  712. But what they'll try to do is try to pit the Old Testament

  713. against the New Testament,

  714. which is exactly what the Pharisees are trying to do.

  715. They're trying to pit Jesus against the Old Testament.

  716. But here's what's actually going on.

  717. If we go back to the Old Testament,

  718. when the law was in full force, what did King David do?

  719. King David committed adultery.

  720. He committed adultery with Bathsheba,

  721. the wife of Uriah and you know what,

  722. he deserved to be put to death for that.

  723. According to the law, the correct punishment

  724. was that David be executed for that crime.

  725. But you know what, the Lord God pardons him in that story

  726. and Nathan the prophet tells him,

  727. you have been pardoned by God, you shall not die.

  728. He didn't say, hey, the death penalty doesn't exist

  729. so you're not gonna die.

  730. He didn't say, hey, we're abolishing the death penalty

  731. so you're not gonna die.

  732. He just said, no, God has put away your sin,

  733. you will not die.

  734. So he actually gives him a presidential pardon.

  735. He gives him a Lordly pardon there, okay?

  736. Because God has the power to do that.

  737. He can forgive whomever he wants.

  738. And so this is what we see,

  739. a beautiful story about Jesus forgiving sin.

  740. Not everybody and their brother forgiving sin,

  741. but Jesus forgiving sin.

  742. I can't go around just, I mean,

  743. otherwise I could just go to the prison

  744. and I could be like, I'm a man of God,

  745. I'm a pastor here, let this guy out.

  746. I'm pardoning him and then I'm gonna pardon this guy over here

  747. and then I'm gonna pardon this guy over here.

  748. They're gonna be like, get out of here,

  749. visiting hours are over bro, get out of here.

  750. I mean, what an absurd interpretation to read this

  751. as Jesus abolishing the death penalty.

  752. Now here's the thing, go if you would

  753. to Romans chapter 13,

    Romans 13 chapter mention

  754. Romans chapter number 13 in the New Testament.

  755. And by the way, Jesus already reiterated

  756. the death penalty in Matthew chapter 15

    Matthew 15 chapter mention

  757. when he said that the scripture said,

  758. whoso curseth father or mother,

  759. let him die the death.

  760. And he criticized the Pharisees for compromising on that.

  761. That's probably why they're even doing this in John chapter

  762. eight is probably a reaction to that.

  763. Because now they say, well, you know,

  764. you're not backing up the law either.

  765. Well, he is though, he just understands

  766. that we gotta follow the law of the land.

  767. Look what the Bible says in Romans chapter 13 verse one,

    Romans 13 chapter mention

  768. it says, let every soul be subject

  769. unto the higher powers,

  770. for there is no power but of God,

  771. the powers that be are ordained of God.

  772. Whosoever therefore resists at the power,

  773. resists at the ordinance of God,

  774. and they that resist shall receive themselves damnation.

  775. The Bible is saying here,

  776. and damnation is just a strong word for condemnation.

  777. It's not talking about going to hell in this condo.

  778. It's just talking about being condemned.

  779. And he says, look, if you are living

  780. in an area, a certain jurisdiction,

  781. you are supposed to obey the higher powers.

  782. You're supposed to obey the powers that be,

  783. the powers that be are ordained of God.

  784. God has ordained human government

  785. for the punishment of evildoers.

  786. We are not anarchists.

  787. We do not believe that stealing and murder

  788. and rape and pillage should be legal.

  789. We believe that they should be illegal

  790. and that it's the government's job

  791. to punish those people, not our job.

  792. So if somebody commits a murder or a theft or whatever,

  793. you know what we're gonna do?

  794. We're gonna call the police.

  795. We're not just gonna just, all right, guys,

  796. let's load up our guns

  797. and we're gonna go take care of this ourselves.

  798. I'm putting together a posse

  799. and we're gonna go enforce laws here.

  800. No, we have to be subject unto the higher powers.

  801. Why?

  802. Because the Bible says in verse three,

  803. rulers are not a terror to good works,

  804. but to the evil.

  805. Will that then not be afraid of the power?

  806. Do that which is good

  807. and that shall have praise of the same,

  808. for he is the minister of God to thee for good.

  809. But if thou do that which is evil,

  810. be afraid for he beareth not the what?

  811. The sword.

  812. What kind of punishment is this talking about?

  813. Sword is talking about killing people.

  814. So when the Bible says the powers that be

  815. bear not the sword in vain,

  816. he is saying that they were ordained by God

  817. to execute criminals.

  818. That is what God has ordained, human government.

  819. He has established human government to kill criminals.

  820. So if somebody commits first degree murder, death penalty.

  821. Now when I was a kid,

  822. it wasn't just first degree murder

  823. that got the death penalty.

  824. Many child molesters would get the death penalty.

  825. And not only that, when I was a kid,

  826. there was a problem with kidnapping

  827. and kidnapping was rampant.

  828. And so there was a time in the late 20th century

  829. when kidnapping was punished by the death penalty

  830. in America.

  831. And in fact, my dad was telling me a story the other day

  832. about this guy that they,

  833. I don't remember what his connection was to the story,

  834. but it was like someone that they knew

  835. or their family vaguely knew or something.

  836. But this creepy guy and his mom had warned them,

  837. hey, we need to stay away from this guy.

  838. This guy's a creep.

  839. This guy's a weirdo.

  840. Well, what ended up happening is the guy,

  841. and I hope I'm getting the story right, dad,

  842. but the guy ended up raping a woman.

  843. And normally that would not carry

  844. the death penalty in America, okay?

  845. It should, biblically it does, biblically it should,

  846. but it doesn't.

  847. But here's the thing though,

  848. is that the guy, he not only did that,

  849. but he also kept her locked up in his car

  850. for like an hour or something.

  851. So then they were able to get him on kidnapping

  852. and put him to death.

  853. And this was someone that they knew

  854. getting executed for kidnapping.

  855. Because they're like, well, this falls under kidnapping

  856. because not only did you rape her,

  857. you also wrongfully imprisoned her

  858. for X amount of hours or whatever.

  859. That's kidnapping, that's the death penalty.

  860. Okay, so this is not some crazy idea

  861. that people would be executed

  862. for things other than murder.

  863. Throughout history, throughout American history,

  864. the death penalty has been there.

  865. You go back to those laws of Connecticut

  866. that Pastor Shelley loved so much,

  867. 1673 laws of Connecticut,

  868. and they're pretty much executing people

  869. for everything the Bible says.

  870. They're pretty much just following the Bible's

  871. recommendations in the Old Testament on how they do it.

  872. So notice, human government is the minister of God

  873. ordained by God, he bears not the sword in vain,

  874. for he is the minister of God,

  875. a revenger to execute wrath upon him

  876. that doeth evil, wherefore you must need to be subject.

  877. He's saying, look, this guy, I mean, look, I'm a minister.

  878. He said, well, of course, a Baptist pastor is a minister.

  879. You wanna know who else is the minister of God?

  880. The executioner putting people to death

  881. who are evil violators of whether it's first degree

  882. murder, kidnapping, rape, whatever.

  883. That's also, he's, I mean, the executioner

  884. could literally say he should park

  885. in the clergy park and say, I'm a minister.

  886. I'm a minister of God.

  887. I mean, that's what the Bible says.

  888. You know, these people are doing the Lord's work

  889. when they're executing criminals,

  890. but I'm supposed to believe that Jesus

  891. is against the death penalty.

  892. See how crazy this is?

  893. First of all, if Jesus is against the death penalty,

  894. he's basically saying that God's law is wrong.

  895. But then these bogus, confused, illiterate,

  896. old IFP types will come along and here's what they'll say.

  897. They'll say, no, no, no, this is difference

  898. between the Old Testament and the New Testament.

  899. We're under grace, we're not under the law.

  900. Folks, please, being under grace, but not under the law

  901. does not mean we have an anarchy

  902. from a civil perspective.

  903. Otherwise, every time the cops pull me over for speeding,

  904. I could just say, excuse me, we're under grace.

  905. You're trying to bring me under the law right now.

  906. What do you want?

  907. You want circumcision next?

  908. Like, you know, it's the New Testament, brother.

  909. Nobody would agree, and nobody would agree

  910. that stealing should be legal because New Testament.

  911. Think about how stupid it would be.

  912. How can you have a law against stealing

  913. in the New Testament?

  914. This is the New Testament, brother.

  915. And you say, no one would ever say that.

  916. Oh, really?

  917. That's funny, because you know what?

  918. Cities all over America now are saying

  919. that they're not gonna prosecute shoplifting.

  920. They're not gonna prosecute stealing.

  921. You're not allowed to stop people from stealing, right?

  922. And now you have all these businesses

  923. having to lock everything up and put things in,

  924. behind lock and key.

  925. I saw this one business owner.

  926. He labeled every item.

  927. It was like you can't get anybody in trouble

  928. for shoplifting under $75.

  929. So he labeled every single thing in the store $75.

  930. Candy bar, $75.

  931. Can of Coke, $75.

  932. Stick of gum, $75.

  933. But then when you walk up to the register,

  934. he has a coupon for you.

  935. When you actually bring it to the register

  936. and he'll bring it down to its actual price.

  937. With a coupon, you know,

  938. just kind of showing how stupid it is

  939. that you have people that would just think,

  940. hey, we should just let people steal.

  941. And hey, does everybody remember

  942. when the food stamp benefit was held up

  943. for like a month or two?

  944. And you have all these people going to TikTok

  945. and going on whatever social media

  946. and saying like, I'm gonna go, I'm gonna shoplift.

  947. Don't you dare try to stop me from stealing.

  948. I gotta feed my kids.

  949. I gotta feed my family.

  950. I'm gonna be stealing.

  951. I'm gonna be shopping.

  952. And then there were all these libtards

  953. that were literally saying,

  954. hey, don't stop people from shoplifting.

  955. It's our duty to look the other way

  956. while poor people shoplift

  957. because they need this stuff.

  958. And then remember, they all freaked out when it was like,

  959. hey, you can't spend food stamps on soda pop and ice cream,

  960. which has zero nutritional value.

  961. It's not keeping you alive.

  962. It's literally called a supplemental nutritional.

  963. I don't remember what the AP stands for.

  964. Snap, right?

  965. Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program, thank you.

  966. I was trying to think of something funny

  967. to make it stand for instead, but.

  968. But supplemental nutritious and party in my mouth

  969. is what a lot of these people think it is, right?

  970. Nutrition and a party in my mouth.

  971. That's what the AP said, A party in my mouth.

  972. That's what I think it stands for, right?

  973. But the snap them.

  974. But the point is that everybody would agree

  975. that the New Testament doesn't mean

  976. we don't criminalize stealing.

  977. The New Testament doesn't mean

  978. we don't criminalize murder.

  979. Okay, well now let me just shock everybody

  980. with this wild bombshell,

  981. is that the New Testament doesn't mean

  982. we decriminalize adultery either.

  983. Because adultery is not just a sin.

  984. Adultery is also a crime.

  985. It has been illegal throughout history

  986. in the United States of America for hundreds of years.

  987. Adultery is illegal.

  988. And by the way, if you're in the military,

  989. adultery is still illegal.

  990. If you're in the military and you say,

  991. well I can do whatever I want when I'm on leave

  992. or whatever, you commit adultery while you're in the military,

  993. you'll be court-martialed.

  994. You can be put in prison.

  995. You get tantamount to a felony on your record

  996. for committing adultery.

  997. What kind of a stupid, bizarre doctrine is it that says,

  998. well, because we're free in Christ,

  999. now there's no criminal penalty on adultery

  1000. that's absurd.

  1001. It's absurd.

1002. And you know what, this is such a modern doctrine.

1003. Because guess what, until the year 2003, 2003 folks,

  1004. that's not ancient history.

1005. That's the same dispensation, okay?

  1006. And no, I'm not a dispensationalist.

1007. 2003 homosexuality was still illegal

1008. in a lot of places in America.

  1009. Until 2003.

1010. It was pretty much illegal everywhere until the 1960s.

1011. And I mean, we're not just talking about some law

1012. on the books in some crusty office somewhere.

1013. No, I'm saying the police were literally raiding

1014. these queer establishments in the 1950s,

  1015. in the 1960s, in the 1970s.

1016. I mean, they are enforcing this stuff.

1017. They are actually taking these people to court.

  1018. They're punishing them.

1019. And they weren't giving them the biblical punishment,

1020. but it was still illegal.

1021. But now you have a bunch of independent,

1022. fundamental Baptists that are so spiritually bankrupt

1023. and theologically bankrupt and so messed up on their doctrine

1024. that they think homosexuality should be legal.

1025. And they're like, well, you can't legislate morality.

1026. Okay, well then you can't legislate against stealing.

1027. If you can't legislate morality,

1028. then you can't legislate against murder.

1029. Why are you trying to impose your morality?

1030. You know, I mean, think about how dumb that is.

1031. Now look, I'm not saying that all sin should be illegal.

1032. You know which sins I think should be illegal?

1033. The ones that are illegal in God's perfect criminal code.

1034. God had a perfect criminal code.

1035. That's what should be illegal.

1036. You know, so yeah, adultery is not just a moral sin.

1037. You know, our favorite new buzzword.

  1038. It's also a crime.

  1039. It's a crime.

  1040. I mean, you're entering into a legal contract.

1041. I'm entering into a legal contract with my wife,

1042. saying that we will keep ourselves

1043. only unto each other so long as you.

1044. Can you see how this will protect both parties

1045. so that I'm not raising some other dude's kid

1046. because my wife is out committing adultery?

1047. I mean, can you see why that would be stealing from me?

1048. Robbing me, ripping me off, right?

1049. So you know, if I'm out there impregnating

1050. some other dude's wife or something like,

1051. this is destructive to society.

1052. It is violating the contract.

1053. It is violating the law.

1054. And just because America has decided

1055. to just make all this weird stuff legal,

1056. doesn't mean that it should be legal.

1057. Just because Jesus pardoned one person

1058. does not mean he's saying, let's have anarchy.

1059. Look, does Jesus pardon a thief?

1060. Yeah, does Jesus pardon a murderer?

1061. Yeah, does Jesus pardon sinners?

1062. Yeah, Jesus Christ came to the world to save sinners,

1063. but that doesn't mean that the government shouldn't exist

1064. or that the government shouldn't punish criminals.

1065. The minister of God to punish criminals.

  1066. Homos should be illegal.

  1067. Adulteries should be illegal.

  1068. Stealing should be illegal.

1069. I mean, I think this is the biggest no-brainer ever.

1070. But what they wanna do hypocritically

1071. is they wanna say, well, yeah,

1072. let's make murder and stealing illegal,

1073. but let's make adultery and homosexuality legal.

1074. Now, why is this hypocritical?

1075. Because it's all the same type of stuff.

1076. In God's, I mean, God's lumping it in the same category.

1077. I mean, it's explained in the same breadth

1078. in so many places, these different things.

1079. But I'll tell you exactly why the disconnect.

1080. Why suddenly, well, yeah, criminalize this,

  1081. but don't do that.

1082. Because basically they're basing their doctrine

1083. on exactly what America does.

1084. So like whatever America does

1085. is automatically the perfect government to them.

1086. Whatever the Republican party is saying, that's what it is.

1087. So if the government says it's that way,

1088. but here's the thing, God is more wise than the government.

1089. Like, how can you think that everything

1090. the American government does is perfect and right?

1091. Look, maybe you love the American government,

1092. maybe you love the U.S. Constitution,

1093. maybe you love America, you love Arizona,

1094. and you love the way that they do business, great.

1095. You know what, I like your attitude,

1096. I like how positive you are about the country

1097. that you live in, rah, rah, shish kumbah,

1098. God bless America, pass the apple pie, and the fireworks,

1099. but at the end of the day though, God's law is perfect,

1100. and don't you dare insult God's law

1101. because you think American law is better

  1102. than God's law because it isn't.

1103. And some day Jesus Christ is coming again.

1104. And when Jesus Christ comes again,

1105. the Bible says he will rule all nations

1106. with a rod of iron.

1107. He's not gonna come back and be super soft on crime.

1108. He's not gonna, you think Jesus is gonna come back

1109. and say, hey, shoplifting's okay, up to $75.

1110. Rod of iron over here.

1111. You think that's what he's gonna say?

1112. No, he's gonna be punishing criminals.

1113. Now look, do we have to wonder what it's gonna be like?

1114. You know what it's gonna be like?

1115. It's gonna be like the laws that he has in the Bible.

1116. If he says, hey, first degree murder

1117. should be put to death, second degree murder

1118. does not get put to death.

1119. First degree murder gets put to death.

1120. So when Jesus returns, he's not gonna be like,

1121. all right guys, got whole new laws

1122. that you've never heard of.

1123. Everything you've learned from reading

1124. Leviticus, Numbers Deuteronomy, forget all that,

  1125. whole new criminal code.

1126. And I'm here with Ben Franklin and Thomas Jefferson

1127. and John Adams, and we've got it all figured out for you.

1128. And it's a whole new word of God.

1129. The third Testament, Book of Mormon,

1130. other Testament of Jesus Christ.

1131. What kind of stupidity is that?

1132. I know exactly how Jesus Christ is gonna rule and reign

1133. because I already have the mind of Christ right here

1134. out of the Bible telling me what God thinks

1135. is a fair punishment for a crime.

1136. I mean, think about it.

1137. Doesn't the punishment need to fit the crime?

1138. If somebody stole a stick of gum up,

1139. cut off one of their fingers, you'd say, whoa,

1140. that's way too much of a punishment, amen?

1141. If somebody stole a pencil and you permanently maimed them,

  1142. that's horrible, that's overkill, that's too much.

1143. I mean, what if somebody stole a car

1144. and they got the death penalty?

  1145. Too much.

1146. And by the way, there have been times in history

1147. where cattle wrestling is a hanging offense in these parts.

1148. But is that biblical to kill cattle wrestlers?

1149. To kill someone for stealing a horse?

1150. To kill someone for stealing cows?

1151. No, it is not biblical.

1152. That is going too far in the other direction.

1153. So where do we find the sweet spot

1154. we study the Word of God?

1155. Nobody's trying to bring us back under the Old Testament.

1156. Amen, we're in the New Testament, we're under grace,

1157. we never wanna go back to the old covenant

1158. that God made with the children of Israel

1159. on Mount Sinai, don't wanna be in the Old Testament,

  1160. Old Testament's done, we're New Testament,

1161. but all scripture is still profitable for doctrine

1162. and for instruction and righteousness.

1163. And if I were king, I would be governing

1164. based on what God did when he was king.

  1165. Amen.

1166. Oh, what a crazy idea, what a wild idea.

1167. But people wanna twist this story to say no death penalty,

  1168. adultery should be legal,

1169. and then they'll take it another level

1170. and say homos should be legal also.

1171. Even though until the last generation,

  1172. until the boomer generation,

1173. that idea was unhurt, nobody would have said that.

1174. Everybody agreed to criminalize it.

1175. So I guess we finally came into the New Testament

  1176. around 1960, 1970.

1177. The Old Testament was really hanging on

1178. for a long time there.

1179. 2003, we finally entered the New Testament.

1180. So we've been in the New Testament for about 23 years now.

1181. So don't get too anxious about the second coming of Christ

1182. because according to these people,

1183. the New Testament just started 23 years ago.

1184. Let it cook for a little bit, right?

  1185. Finally, we get it.

1186. I mean, can you imagine a pastor

1187. in the year 2003 rejoicing and saying finally,

  1188. be in a homo's legal?

1189. We're finally following the Bible.

1190. You'd say this guy is a sick weirdo,

1191. but yet in 2026, you have independent,

1192. fundamental Baptist pastors who believe

1193. that homosexuality should be legal

1194. simply because 23 years have gone by.

1195. I mean, does anybody see how crazy that is, right?

1196. Or how crazy it is to think that marriage

1197. should just have no punishment for violating it

  1198. when it's a legally binding contract

1199. and that you can just go out and just ignore it

1200. and just sleep around when you're married

1201. and you potentially risk exposing your mate to diseases

1202. and fathering bastard children and all these things.

1203. I mean, folks, this stuff destroys society

1204. just like the shoplifting and the stealing

1205. and the murder and everything else.

1206. And so I think that as we read the Bible this morning,

1207. I think you see that John chapter eight is a great story.

1208. We don't need to discard the story, Mr. NIV man.

1209. We don't need to discard the story, Mr. ESV man.

1210. What we need to do is just understand it properly, right?

  1211. Because it's a beautiful story.

  1212. It's a great story.

1213. Jesus once again outsmarting his enemy

1214. fits in with the rest of the New Testament.

1215. Jesus showing clemency, showing pardon, right?

  1216. Forgiving the guilty.

1217. And look, can murderers get saved?

  1218. Absolutely.

  1219. Can adulterers get saved?

  1220. Absolutely.

1221. The Lord Jesus Christ is ready to forgive anyone

1222. and everyone who believes on his name.

1223. Anyone who puts their faith and trust in Jesus

  1224. will be saved, right?

1225. Nobody is too sinful to where if they came to Jesus,

1226. he'd be like, no, can't do it.

1227. Now is the president telling yes to everyone?

1228. No, the president's saying, nope, can't pardon,

1229. can't do it, can't do it, can't do it.

1230. I mean, look, there are prisoners

1231. who keep writing letters to the president,

1232. writing letters to the president,

1233. writing letters to the governor,

1234. writing to the governor, writing to the president,

1235. writing to the president, writing to the president.

  1236. And you know what?

1237. That same criminal who's writing to the president,

1238. getting ignored, you know what all he has to do

1239. is drop on his knees in his jail cell

1240. and write one letter to the Lord.

1241. Lord, dear Mr. President, our Father in heaven, be merciful to me as sinner. I'm putting all

1242. my faith and trust in your shed blood, your death, throne, and resurrection, save me right

1243. now, and the pardon is guaranteed, because Jesus said, him that comeeth to me, I will

1244. in no wise cast out. It reminds me of the song, Wider Than Snow, where he says,

1245. you know, he never said no to anybody who came to him, asking for pardon. Somebody

1246. who comes to him and puts their faith and trust in him, he's never said no. Him that

1247. comeeth to me, I will in no wise, whosoever shall call upon the name of

1248. Lord shall be saved. So, you know, I walk away from John chapter 8 and I'm

    John 8 chapter mention

1249. thinking about the forgiveness of Christ, his power to forgiveness, his

1250. special power to forgive sins that not everyone has. Only one person has it.

1251. Jesus. So, I'm reading John 8 and I'm just like, wow, this is awesome. Jesus just

1252. has the power to forgive sins. Here's a super guilty person and he just

1253. forgives her and she's super guilty. There's no question and she's doomed and

1254. she should be killed, but bam, he's just able to just forgive and just

1255. pardon. Wow. Isn't it cool that I'm forgiven too? I'm pardoned too. I'm

1256. saved too. I'm glad that it's the easiest presidential pardon that

1257. anybody could ever get. Meanwhile, a bunch of compromised, libtard, bozo, fake

1258. fundamentalists, neo-evangelical pastors with a KJV pretending to be

1259. fundamentalists with their little ultra-modern doctrine of reading it like,

1260. oh, look, the death penalty is unscriptural. Oh, look, adultery should be

1261. legal. And because, you know, everybody loves fags now, I think even

1262. phagotry should be illegal. This is great. I can prove Stephen Anderson, all

1263. those darn Andersonites. It's like, bro, everybody was an Andersonite. When I

1264. was a kid, they just, before there even was an Anderson, I was a themite. I

1265. was a, I was an old IFBite. As if I made any of this up. Don't throw out

1266. the passage. Throw out the dumb interpretation. John 8.1 through 11 is a

1267. beautiful passage. I love it. Let's bow our heads and have a word of prayer.

1268. Father, we thank you so much for your word. We thank you so much for the

1269. clarity that you give us, Lord. Please help people to understand the

1270. difference between old and New Testament Lord and that people would

1271. be able to understand your word and understand that we need to stand up

1272. against sin and we should take a hard line against things like murder and

1273. adultery and rape and kidnapping, Lord. We should really take a hard line

1274. against things like stealing and other sins, but at the same time realize that

1275. spiritual forgiveness comes through the Lord Jesus Christ and how we are

1276. super thankful for that part in, Lord. And Lord, sometimes even a

1277. presidential pardon comes in handy or a gubernatorial pardon comes in

1278. handy on this earth, even Lord. But Lord, I pray that you just bless us

1279. now as we go our separate ways and it's in Christ's name. We pray. Amen.
