  1. Men.

  2. Men, chapter nine of Second Kings

  3. is the very famous story about judgment

  4. upon the house of Ahab.

  5. Of course, Ahab himself is already dead.

  6. If you remember, even the very first verse

  7. of the book of Second Kings talks about the fact

  8. that this is taking place after the death of Ahab.

  9. But other people surrounding Ahab are now finally

  10. going to be judged and get what's coming to them

  11. because of the whole Naboth incident.

  12. If you remember, there were false witnesses,

  13. two men that lied and then they caused Naboth

  14. to be put to death for a crime that he didn't commit

  15. just so that Ahab could get that garden of herbs

  16. and Elijah had come and prophesied

  17. and talked about the horrible punishment

  18. that would come upon Ahab and Jezebel

  19. and their whole household.

  20. So if you actually kind of do the math

  21. and figure out the timeline,

  22. it's hard to figure it out exactly,

  23. but pretty much about three years went by

  24. before Ahab is killed and is judged by God.

  25. But by the time these events happened,

  26. it's more like 13 or 14 years have gone by

  27. when the full prophecy is being fulfilled

  28. and you have Jezebel being eaten by dogs

  29. and all of these other people surrounding Ahab

  30. and his household being smoked in this chapter.

  31. So it's kind of a long chapter.

  32. We're not going to be able to cover

  33. every single thing, obviously.

  34. But look at verse number one.

  35. It says,

  36. So Elisha is obviously kind of the big name prophet.

  37. He's the main man of God in the northern kingdom of Israel.

  38. But there are a lot of other younger preachers

  39. that he's training different protégés,

  40. the sons of the prophets

  41. that he's working with and advising

  42. and training and teaching.

  43. So he sends one of these young preacher boys

  44. to go and anoint Jehu king.

  45. And it says in verse number two,

  46. when thou comest thither, look out there, Jehu,

  47. the son of Jehoshaphat, the son of Nimshai,

  48. and go in and make him arise up from among his brethren

  49. and carry him to an inner chamber,

  50. then take the box of oil and pour it on his head

  51. and say, thus saith the Lord,

  52. I have anointed thee, king, over Israel,

  53. then open the door and flee and tarry not.

  54. So this Jehu is a military man

  55. and he's not the king of Israel.

  56. He's not in the succession to become the next king.

  57. He's not the prince or family or anything like that.

  58. God is going to destroy the house of Ahab

  59. and end that dynasty and start a new dynasty with Jehu.

  60. And so he is kind of privately doing this,

  61. taking him into the room and saying,

  62. you have been anointed by God,

  63. you are going to be the king of Israel.

  64. You're going to be used by God to destroy

  65. and wipe out the house of Ahab

  66. and then you're going to take over and become the king.

  67. And the purpose of pouring oil upon his head,

  68. this is symbolic, this anointing

  69. was something that would anoint prophets, right?

  70. We saw Elisha being anointed prophet.

  71. We saw kings and priests throughout the Bible

  72. being anointed.

  73. And the idea here is that the oil pictures the Holy Spirit.

  74. And so the idea is that in order to preach powerful sermons,

  75. you have to be anointed by the Holy Spirit, right?

  76. In order to be a prophet of God,

  77. you need that anointing of the Holy Spirit.

  78. You're not going to be able to just in the flesh,

  79. go to Toastmasters and learn how to be a good speaker

  80. and read a book about it and imitate other preachers

  81. and even studying and learning the Bible is not enough.

  82. Ultimately, in order to be a spirit filled preacher,

  83. you got to be filled with the spirit of God.

  84. That's how you're going to be effective.

  85. That's how God's going to use you greatly.

  86. You know, if you don't abide in the vine,

  87. you're not going to be able to bring forth fruit

  88. because Jesus said, without me, you can do nothing.

  89. And so in order to have success in the ministry,

  90. you got to be tapped into the power of God.

  91. That is the essential ingredient, the spirit of God.

  92. You got to be walking with God and so forth.

  93. And so the pouring out of the oil upon his head is,

  94. hey, if you're going to be a great leader, right?

  95. Because the king is not necessarily a preacher,

  96. but he's a leader.

  97. He's an authority.

  98. In order to be a great leader,

  99. you need to be filled with the spirit of God.

  100. In order to be a great Christian,

  101. you need to be filled with the spirit of God.

  102. So whether you are man, woman, boy or girl, right?

  103. In order to be effective at soul winning,

  104. you want to be filled with the spirit of God.

  105. In order to be an effective father,

  106. an effective mother, an effective husband,

  107. you know, just an effective Christian in general,

  108. you need the power of God.

  109. You can't do it on your own.

  110. You can't just follow a human formula.

  111. You need to walk with God,

  112. pray unto the Lord, pray for boldness,

  113. pray for the fullness of the Holy Spirit,

  114. read your Bible.

  115. And you know, I was thinking recently

  116. about the story of Mary and Martha.

  117. And you know, Mary is sitting at the feet of Jesus

  118. and Jesus says she has chosen the better part.

  119. Martha's really busy doing stuff,

  120. but Mary's over here sitting at the feet of Jesus

  121. and we need to have that walk with God

  122. so we can have the power of God

  123. so that we can be greatly used by God.

  124. So we need to be in our Bibles,

  125. praying, walking with God, spirit filled,

  126. singing Psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, et cetera.

  127. And that's what that oil anointing stands for.

  128. That says in verse number four,

  129. so the young man, even the young man, the prophet,

  130. went to Ramath Gillian.

  131. And when he came, behold,

  132. the captain and the host were sitting

  133. and he said, I have an errand to thee, O captain.

  134. And G.U. said, unto which of all of us?

  135. And he said, to thee, O captain.

  136. So the first thing I wanna point out here

  137. is that he shows up and there's a whole group

  138. of military captains.

  139. And when this young prophet comes in,

  140. he says, I have an errand unto thee, O captain.

  141. And that doesn't necessarily narrow it down

  142. because there are multiple people in that room

  143. that have that same rank.

  144. So then G.U. said, unto which of all us?

  145. And he said, to thee, thee is singular, to thee, O captain.

  146. So notice the one who speaks up is G.U.

  147. So even though they're all captains,

  148. you can already see that G.U.

  149. is kind of doing the talking for the group.

  150. So he seems to be a very well-respected member

  151. of the group, and we're gonna see that in a moment,

  152. that he is someone that is already kind of looked at

  153. as the chief guy in the room

  154. because when somebody's gonna do the talking,

  155. it's him when the young prophet comes in.

  156. And so he says, you, O captain,

  157. verse six, and he arose and went into the house

  158. and he poured the oil on his head and said unto him,

  159. thus saith the Lord God of Israel,

  160. I've anointed thee king over the people of the Lord,

  161. even over Israel, and thou shalt smite

  162. the house of Ahab thy master.

  163. And again, remember, it's not Ahab himself,

  164. but rather it is his relatives,

  165. and his descendants, and so forth,

  166. and his wife, that I may avenge the blood

  167. of my servants, the prophets,

  168. and the blood of all the servants of the Lord

  169. at the hand of Jezebel,

  170. for the whole house of Ahab shall perish,

  171. and I will cut off from Ahab,

  172. him that pisseth against the wall,

  173. and him that is shut up and left in Israel.

  174. So he's saying, him that pisseth against the wall

  175. means every male, right?

  176. Because obviously women sit down

  177. when they go to the bathroom,

  178. whereas men pee standing up,

  179. they piss against the wall, it's called a urinal,

  180. now they're starting to put urinals

  181. in the ladies' room at some places,

  182. but that's because we're living in crazy times, okay?

  183. Normal people understand

  184. that men piss against the wall, women don't,

  185. because men are standing up, women aren't.

  186. And so that's just a way of saying,

  187. and this comes up six times in the Bible,

  188. it's just a way of expressing

  189. all of the males are gonna perish.

  190. Maybe some of the females will survive,

  191. none of the males are going to survive.

  192. And so God is gonna completely wipe out

  193. the household of Ahab

  194. because of the blood of his servants, the prophets,

  195. because not only did Ahab murder Naboth,

  196. through Jezebel and that whole thing

  197. with the false witnesses,

  198. but also just killing the prophets of the Lord,

  199. persecuting the people of God.

  200. And here's the thing, God is going to avenge his servants,

  201. God is going to avenge his people.

  202. The Bible says, touch not mine anointed

  203. and do my prophets no harm, right?

  204. And the Bible says God even reproved kings

  205. for the sakes of his preachers and prophets.

  206. God will protect his people,

  207. and when people go out and persecute the people of God,

  208. attack the people of God, assault the people of God,

  209. slander the people of God, especially prophets,

  210. especially preachers and men of God.

  211. When you attack and harm those people,

  212. God is going to bring vengeance upon you.

  213. It might come three years later,

  214. it might come 13, 14 years later, but it is coming.

  215. The Bible says, vengeance belongeth unto me,

  216. said the Lord, I will repay.

  217. And so you can take that to the bank,

  218. that's what the Bible says.

  219. And so it says here that they're going to avenge,

  220. you know, the blood of these prophets

  221. and the persecution of God's people

  222. and so forth.

  223. And it says in verse number nine,

  224. I will make the house of Ahab,

  225. like the house of Jeroboam, the son of Nebat,

  226. and like the house of Baasha, the son of Haidja.

  227. These are other failed dynasties

  228. of the northern kingdom of Israel.

  229. Because what's interesting, when the kingdom split

  230. into the northern kingdom of Israel

  231. and the southern kingdom of Judah,

  232. you know, David's line is pretty much just king

  233. the whole time down in that southern kingdom,

  234. all the way to the bitter end.

  235. And you're pretty much staying

  236. with that same Davidic dynasty,

  237. whereas the northern kingdom, it keeps switching

  238. and people just keep getting wiped out

  239. and smoked and replaced.

  240. And that's what we're seeing again in this chapter.

  241. And so it says, and the dog shall eat Jezebel

  242. in the portion of Jezreel

  243. and there shall be none to bury her.

  244. And he opened the door and fled.

  245. And this is obviously a curse in the Bible

  246. when you don't get a proper burial,

  247. when you're just left outside

  248. for wild animals to eat you.

  249. This is a cursed way to remain.

  250. You know, the Bible says,

  251. the eye that mocketh at his father

  252. and despiseeth to obey his mother,

  253. the ravens of the valley shall pick it out

  254. and the young eagles shall eat it.

  255. And that's exactly like being eaten by dogs.

  256. And I remember when I was a kid,

  257. you know, there was a band called The Doors,

  258. obviously long before I was a kid

  259. because I was a kid in the 80s

  260. and the Doors were in the 60s.

  261. But I remember watching a concert on TV

  262. from The Doors being replayed years and years later

  263. and the lead singer of The Doors, you know,

  264. during his songs,

  265. they just go off on all these musical interludes

  266. and he would just start to just kind of freestyle

  267. at the mic and just start waxing poetic and saying things.

  268. And I mean, those are some of the most wicked things

  269. that he would say, you know,

  270. because he's just a wicked person

  271. out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaketh.

  272. Maybe he was even under the influence

  273. of the devil or something.

  274. And I remember just watching this super long version

  275. of one of his songs and he's up there just freestyle.

  276. And I remember he said,

  277. I don't wanna die in an automobile.

  278. I wanna die in an open field.

  279. I want the birds to pick my eyes.

  280. And I remember listening to these lyrics

  281. as he's going through this.

  282. And I was thinking to myself,

  283. this is exactly what Proverbs 30 says.

  284. You know, because I was familiar with Proverbs 30,

  285. the eye that mocketh his father

  286. and despised to obey his mother,

  287. the ravens of the valley shall pick it out.

  288. And he's literally saying, I wanna die in an open field

  289. and I want the birds to pick out my eyes.

  290. And then in the same song, he says,

  291. Father.

  292. Yes, son.

  293. I wanna kill you.

  294. And he's talking about killing his father

  295. and you know, doing something else horrible to his mother.

  296. And you know, it just goes to show you

  297. how a lot of these musicians are just satanic

  298. and it's like, they're almost like quoting the Bible,

  299. but like from the wrong angle here.

  300. You know, instead of saying,

  301. hey, I want to honor my father and mother.

  302. I don't wanna die in the open field.

  303. I don't want them.

  304. He's saying like, yeah, I just hate my parents

  305. and I just wanna harm my parents

  306. and I just wanna die in the open field

  307. and I want the birds to pick out my eyes.

  308. And you know, it's just amazing.

  309. Like, is Bro over here studying the Bible

  310. or are the demons telling him this or what?

  311. But I'm just telling you that spirit

  312. of long haired teenage rebellion of that music even

  313. is just coming across in the lyrics

  314. just the exact opposite of what the Word of God

  315. is telling you.

  316. Honor your father and mother.

  317. You know, and that's not the message

  318. that the doors were preaching.

  319. And so most kids today

  320. probably don't even know who the doors are, you know?

  321. But I'm sure that you older folks

  322. know exactly what I'm talking about.

  323. And so it says in verse number 11,

  324. then Jiu came forth to the servants of the Lord.

  325. And I think this is the most interesting part

  326. of the whole chapter for me personally.

  327. I've always loved this part.

  328. It says, then Jiu came forth to the servants of his Lord

  329. and one said to him, is all well?

  330. Wherefore came this mad fellow to thee?

  331. So remember, all the captains are in there.

  332. The young prophet comes in and he says,

  333. hey, I have an errand to the O-captain.

  334. Hey, which one?

  335. Oh, me, okay, yeah, let's go step in my office.

  336. You know, they go in a private room.

  337. He anoints him as king and then he just leaves immediately.

  338. He just jets out of there.

  339. He says what he wants to say,

  340. preaches the sermon and he's out the door.

  341. But I think it's clear from this

  342. that these guys all know who this young preacher is.

  343. Like they're familiar with this guy

  344. because when he comes in,

  345. they say, well, what said this mad fellow under thee?

  346. And this goes to show you

  347. that they have a low view of this guy

  348. because they think he's a lunatic.

  349. They think he's crazy

  350. because when the Bible says mad here,

  351. it's the British like, are you mad?

  352. Like insane, not angry, okay?

  353. So like, what's this crazy guy?

  354. What that crazy preacher have to say to you, right?

  355. And then notice what Jiu's response is.

  356. He said, well, you know the man and his communication.

  357. So he's kind of like trying to maybe,

  358. I don't know, give into the peer pressure a little bit

  359. because the people around him are like,

  360. oh, what that idiot tell you, that crazy guy,

  361. that crazy preacher?

  362. What that crazy preacher have to say to you?

  363. And he's just like, oh, you know, you know how he is.

  364. Almost like agreeing with them.

  365. And he seems a little bit shy

  366. or reticent about wanting to say

  367. that he was just anointed king.

  368. Like maybe he doesn't really know

  369. if his peers are going to accept him as the king.

  370. You know, because remember what happened

  371. when Joseph said, hey, I had a dream

  372. and you know, you guys were all bowing down to me.

  373. It didn't really go over very well.

  374. So if he's on the same rank with these people,

  375. they're all equally captains or whatever.

  376. And you know, even when he says,

  377. I got a message to you captain.

  378. They're like, well, which one of us?

  379. You know, it could be the Jiu is thinking,

  380. I don't know if these people are gonna want to hear

  381. that I was just anointed king.

  382. Especially when they're saying,

  383. oh man, that crazy preacher, what did he say?

  384. So he kind of tries to just go along with them

  385. and kind of play it off.

  386. Like he doesn't really want to tell them what he said.

  387. So he's just like, hey, you know the man

  388. in his communication, you know, you guys know him

  389. and you know what he's like.

  390. So the first thing I want to point out,

  391. you know, before I get into the really interesting thing

  392. here, I want to just stop and say this.

  393. Is that to this world

  394. and to the unsafe people of this world

  395. and to backslidden Christians, good preachers are crazy.

  396. They're seen as crazy, just wild man, lunatic.

  397. And you know what's funny is that a lot of people are just

  398. like, oh man, you know, that crazy preacher over there.

  399. You know, I want to go to this church where

  400. everybody in the community thinks he's normal and cool.

  401. It's like, well, okay, but is he really a man of God?

  402. Because when you're accepted of this world

  403. and loved of this world, you know,

  404. the Bible says, whoa, unto you

  405. when all men speak well of you,

  406. for so did their fathers under the false prophets, right?

  407. And if you would, let's come back here,

  408. but let's go over to 2 Timothy chapter four

  409. to that other very famous passage

  410. in 2 Timothy chapter number four.

  411. Look, the world is going to look

  412. at the preachers of God's word as crazy, as mad.

  413. As lunatic, they're going to say,

  414. oh, you're nuts, you're crazy.

  415. And I think that the reason why

  416. the Old Testament prophet is characterized as a mad man

  417. is because he's preaching dynamic sermons.

  418. Because if you look at Old Testament sermons,

  419. they're very dynamic.

  420. They have a lot of wild object lessons

  421. and they're lifting up their voice.

  422. They're crying out.

  423. They're smiting with the hand.

  424. They're stomping with the foot.

  425. They're preaching hard sermons.

  426. And so a lot of people are just like,

  427. these people are crazy, too extreme, too fanatical.

  428. They're too into it.

  429. You know, when you're just sitting there

  430. and following Elisha every day

  431. and you guys are just reading the Bible

  432. and preaching and doing all that stuff,

  433. it's just you guys are too into it.

  434. You know, go to church a couple of times a year,

  435. a couple of times a month.

  436. Hey, go once a week, but don't get that into it.

  437. So the preacher is seen as a fanatic, a wild man.

  438. And it's the same thing in the New Testament

  439. because you know what they said about Jesus?

  440. Quote, he is beside himself.

  441. That's an expression for saying he's crazy.

  442. He's beside himself.

  443. He's crazy.

  444. And then what did they say about the apostle Paul?

  445. The apostle Paul is preaching a Bible sermon

  446. in the Book of Acts.

  447. And what happens when he's preaching to King of Gripah?

  448. What does Felix say?

  449. He says, Paul, thou art beside thyself,

  450. much learning doth make thee mad.

  451. He said, you have spent too much time studying.

  452. And so you've studied so much that you've lost your mind

  453. because you can tell that Paul's a very intelligent guy.

  454. He's super scholarly, super academic, super learned.

  455. But he's like, you're nuts.

  456. This has driven you nuts.

  457. But then Paul says, okay, well, what about you, King of Gripah?

  458. You know though what I'm saying is true.

  459. Believe it's thou the prophets at Gripah.

  460. I know that thou believest.

  461. And what does King of Gripah say?

  462. The famous words, almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian.

  463. Even as the guy next to him is saying, you're insane.

  464. A Gripah has to kind of get over that peer pressure

  465. too because the guy next to him is saying, he's insane.

  466. And he's just like, well, okay, I'll admit it.

  467. I'm almost convinced.

  468. I'm almost persuaded to be a Christian.

  469. Well, almost isn't good enough.

  470. And that's why Paul says, well, I wish that you would just

  471. get all together all the way there.

  472. And I wish all of you all would get all the way there

  473. and not be almost because almost is close but no cigar.

  474. And you gotta get saved.

  475. It's binary.

  476. It's on or off.

  477. You're either saved or unsaved.

  478. There's no almost.

  479. You get in or you're doomed.

  480. And so here we see in 2 Timothy chapter four

  481. because we said, hey, they called Jesus crazy.

  482. They called Paul crazy.

  483. Old Testament prophets are called a mad man

  484. and seen as crazy to this world.

  485. It says in 2 Timothy chapter four, verse one,

  486. I charge thee therefore before God

  487. and the Lord Jesus Christ who shall judge the quick

  488. and the dead it is appearing in his kingdom,

  489. preach the word, be instant in season, out of season,

  490. reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering

  491. in doctrine for the time will come

  492. when they will not endure sound doctrine,

  493. but after their own lust shall they heap

  494. to themselves teachers having itching ears

  495. and they shall turn away their ears from the truth

  496. and shall be turned unto fables.

  497. So notice here that they don't wanna hear the good doctrine,

  498. the real stuff from the Bible.

  499. So what they will do is they will heap

  500. unto themselves teachers.

  501. Notice not preachers but teachers

  502. because typically this world wants something

  503. a little mellower than preaching.

  504. I mean, what's the difference between teaching

  505. and preaching because really all good preaching is teaching.

  506. I mean, if a preacher is getting up

  507. and preaching hopefully you're learning something.

  508. Hopefully something's being taught.

  509. Hopefully there's doctrine.

  510. Doctrine just means teaching.

  511. So hopefully there's some doctrine in the preaching.

  512. Okay, so what's the difference

  513. between preaching and teaching?

  514. You know, preaching is teaching

  515. but just with some fire with it, right?

  516. You know, someone said preaching is teaching

  517. with a tear in the eye, you know, whatever.

  518. But it's, you know, it's the zeal, it's the fire,

  519. it's the passion, right?

  520. It is the dynamic aspect that turns it from just teaching.

  521. You know, Ben Stein up in front of the class

  522. explaining economics during the depression

  523. versus preaching, right?

  524. That's more animated and so forth.

  525. So notice they will heap to themselves teachers.

  526. The other thing that's different

  527. between teaching and preaching

  528. is that preaching is reprove, rebuke, exhort.

  529. All of those three words

  530. are telling people to change something.

  531. You're wrong about this, you need to fix this.

  532. Teaching could just be, oh, hey,

  533. let me just explain to you some things about the Bible.

  534. Preaching is like, hey, you need to fix this, okay?

  535. And so some people will say like,

  536. hey, you're getting preachy, right?

  537. Or I think there was a big Madonna song in the 80s.

  538. Papa, don't preach, right?

  539. And so it's like, hey, don't preach at me.

  540. That is the mentality of this wicked world.

  541. I don't want to be preached at, right?

  542. I want to have itching ears.

  543. I want you to come and basically scratch my ears

  544. and make me feel good.

  545. Like a dog that wants you to rub it behind the ears

  546. and pet the dog.

  547. They want to come and be coddled and petted and stroke.

  548. They don't want to actually get the real sound doctrine

  549. that involves reproof and rebuke and exhortation.

  550. And it notice says they will heap to themselves teachers.

  551. You know, a heap is a giant pile of something.

  552. So there is no shortage of these teachers

  553. that are gonna tell people what they want to hear.

  554. Whatever America wants to hear in 2026,

  555. there will be a heap of pastors

  556. that are ready to teach them

  557. and tell them what they want to hear

  558. and scratch that itch

  559. and they turn their ears away from the truth

  560. and they're turned to fables.

  561. So they're gonna have story time with a pastor

  562. who's not gonna give them sound doctrine,

  563. but he's gonna tell them what they want to hear.

  564. Now with that in mind,

  565. go back to 2 Kings chapter nine

  566. and let's think about that scripture

  567. as we read the reaction here.

  568. Because I think this is hilarious.

  569. I've always enjoyed this in my personal Bible reading

  570. when they ask him, you know,

  571. what did this mad fellow say to you?

  572. What that crazy preacher say?

  573. Oh, well, you know him, you know how he is.

  574. You know the stuff he says, right?

  575. And here's what I think is funny

  576. is that D.U. says you know the man

  577. at the end of verse 11 there,

  578. he says you know the man and his communication.

  579. And then their response is it is false.

  580. And it is false as a reference to the communication.

  581. Well, you know the man, you know his communication.

  582. Yep, and we know that it's false.

  583. Now notice they have not heard what the communication is

  584. as far as actually what was just communicated to Jihu.

  585. They don't even know what it is

  586. and they're already just rejecting it out of hand.

  587. They've already decided it's false.

  588. Okay, now the Bible says that when we listen to preaching

  589. we should be, you know, searching the scriptures daily

  590. to see whether these things are so.

  591. We're not supposed to just blindly believe

  592. whatever is preached unto us.

  593. We're supposed to be getting in the Word every day,

  594. searching the scriptures daily, whether these things be so.

  595. But in the same passage where it says

  596. that the Bereans search the scriptures daily,

  597. it also says that they received the Word

  598. with all readiness of mind.

  599. So we wanna find a balance here.

  600. You know, searching the scriptures daily,

  601. whether these things be so,

  602. it doesn't mean you show up to church

  603. and you're super skeptical and you're like,

  604. ah, I wanna figure out if Pastor Anderson

  605. is really telling the truth here.

  606. You know, I wanna see if this is really right

  607. and you're just kind of frowning,

  608. kind of just fact checking everything,

  609. like just to try to catch me making a mistake.

  610. No, because the idea is you come

  611. with all readiness of mind to receive the Word.

  612. So you wanna come with an attitude that says,

  613. hey, I'm ready to receive truth.

  614. I wanna learn.

  615. I wanna hear this.

  616. This is good stuff.

  617. You know, and then you go and you check

  618. and double check and make sure that it matches the Bible.

  619. But you don't wanna have a skeptical negative attitude

  620. going into preaching.

  621. I mean, if you show up here with a bad attitude

  622. and a skeptical mentality,

  623. you're not gonna get as much out of the preaching

  624. as the person who shows up wanting to learn

  625. with a positive attitude.

  626. And look, when I'm out, you know,

  627. on the mission field or whatever traveling

  628. and I end up visiting some random church

  629. because I'm just in another country

  630. and I'm just Googling whatever the church

  631. that's preaching out of the King James Bible

  632. and just trying to find something.

  633. You know, when I show up,

  634. I don't show up like ready to pick it apart

  635. and find all the problems.

  636. You know, I show up like assuming

  637. that this is gonna be a good church.

  638. I just walk in like ready to learn, good attitude.

  639. And here's the thing, what if I walk into a church like that?

  640. And let's just say that this church

  641. has some seriously screwed up doctrines

  642. that they just kinda don't happen to talk about it

  643. the night that I'm there.

  644. You know, what I don't know can't hurt me.

  645. So if I'm on the mission field,

  646. I'm just visiting, I can just show up

  647. and I got a good attitude

  648. and I'm just sitting there, big smile,

  649. turning to my Bible.

  650. I can learn something from the word of God,

  651. I can listen, I can worship the Lord,

  652. have a good time and go about my merry way.

  653. And I'm not just trying to pick apart

  654. and find all the problems and so forth

  655. and being super critical.

  656. And a lot of times I've been with people

  657. visiting churches and they're so super critical

  658. they'll get offended by every little thing,

  659. even if it's not a big issue or a deal breaker,

  660. just every little thing that the church says or does

  661. that's wrong, they're just on it, you know.

  662. And it's just a bad attitude.

  663. We wanna have, whenever we're at church,

  664. worshiping God, learning from the preaching,

  665. you know, we wanna just have the readiness of mind,

  666. like just ready to hear, wanting to learn,

  667. giving the benefit of the doubt,

  668. being optimistic about where we are.

  669. And then, yeah, we go and fact check things,

  670. we go double check things.

  671. I'm not saying to blindly believe it,

  672. but I'm also saying not to just be,

  673. you know, already negative before it even starts.

  674. And I'm telling you, a lot of people

  675. go to one extreme or the other,

  676. where they're just, they just blindly believe everything,

  677. or they're just super critical and nothing's good enough

  678. and no church is good enough

  679. and every church is bad and whatever.

  680. And look, I've known people that were great Christians,

  681. soul-winning Christians, effective Christians,

  682. but they became so critical

  683. that they just got completely out of church

  684. because they're just like, no church is good enough.

  685. And then they just start doing church at home

  686. and they're just at the kitchen table,

  687. husband and wife, and they're not attending anywhere

  688. for years and years and years.

  689. And guess what, they're gonna get less people saved,

  690. they're not in obedience,

  691. they're not growing like they could be

  692. because they got too puffed up in their knowledge

  693. and just, oh, I know more than every pastor,

  694. so I'm gonna stay home.

  695. You know, it's a bad place to be.

  696. And so, you know, wanna make sure

  697. that, yeah, we're ready to hear and we're searching.

  698. Okay, these people are,

  699. they're already super negative about the man of God, right?

  700. The true prophet of God,

  701. this guy is truly sent by God,

  702. Elisha is obviously right with God,

  703. this guy's right with God,

  704. this message is straight from the Lord

  705. and he comes and preaches it,

  706. but do they have an attitude that's ready to receive?

  707. No, cause they're like, he's crazy

  708. and even before they've even heard the message,

  709. they're just like, well, I already know it's gonna be wrong.

  710. I already know it's gonna be false.

  711. I mean, if Pastor Anderson's saying it,

  712. I already disagree, it's false.

  713. Okay, that's the attitude that they have

  714. toward this particular preacher.

  715. But they say, tell us now.

  716. Now, here's what's funny,

  717. is that they still wanna hear it.

  718. Like, even though they think it's crazy,

  719. they don't like it, they've already decided

  720. they don't agree with it,

  721. but they're like, tell it to us though.

  722. Tell us anyway.

  723. You know, it's kinda funny,

  724. people who kinda just hate watch content

  725. of preachers that they don't like,

  726. you know, and they just can't get enough

  727. of preaching that they don't agree with

  728. and they just listen and just stalk preachers that,

  729. you know, it's like, wow.

  730. You know, that's one way you could look at this,

  731. but another way you could think of it is just,

  732. you know, they're just still curious, right?

  733. I mean, the guy came and took him in the other room

  734. and, you know, he comes back

  735. and his head's a little greasier than it was before

  736. and they're wondering what's going on

  737. and so they're like, well, it's, you know,

  738. it's false, it's false,

  739. but go ahead and tell us what it is anyway,

  740. you know.

  741. So what does he say?

  742. He said, thus and thus, spakey to me,

  743. saying, thus saith the Lord,

  744. I've anointed thee, king over Israel.

  745. Now, watch this, watch just the turn on a dime

  746. in verse 13, then they hasted.

  747. So are these people, they're not stopping

  748. and think about it, they're not deliberating.

  749. I mean, he has them at hello.

  750. It's just, they hasted and took every man in his garment

  751. and put it under him on the top of the stairs

  752. and blew with trumpet saying, Jihu is king.

  753. Now, whoa, what happened?

  754. Because a minute ago they're like, oh, this guy's crazy.

  755. Well, you know, yeah, you know how he is,

  756. you know what he's, well, it's false.

  757. Tell us what it is.

  758. Well, he said that I'm gonna be king.

  759. That's it, you're king.

  760. Now here's why, because remember,

  761. even at the start of the story,

  762. who's doing the talking?

  763. Jihu, he obviously is a respected guy among his brethren.

  764. He's obviously the most important person in the room

  765. because when the prophet comes in,

  766. he's the one who addresses him and speaks up.

  767. And so I think one way that we could look at this

  768. is that backslidden Christians

  769. or just bad people, rotten people,

  770. backslidden people, whatever,

  771. you know what they tend to do

  772. is they tend to just only like preaching

  773. when it's just telling them stuff

  774. that they already believe and that they already like.

  775. You know, it's not that these people

  776. had a different view, different opinion,

  777. and then, oh, well, if the man of God's saying it,

  778. I mean, if that's what the Bible says,

  779. if that does say it to the Lord, well, yes, sir, Lord,

  780. that's not what's going on here.

  781. These people don't respect the man of God.

  782. These people have a bad attitude.

  783. These people are writing off the preaching

  784. before they've even heard it,

  785. but if it's something that they like,

  786. now all of a sudden they like it.

  787. And again, this reminds me of Second Timothy 4,

  788. where it says that they will heep

  789. to themselves teachers having itching ears,

  790. meaning that they want preachers to tell them

  791. what they wanna hear

  792. or to tell them what they already believe.

  793. And you know what a lot of people want

  794. when they go to the Bible too?

  795. They basically just wanna hear God,

  796. they just wanna hear their own opinion

  797. coming out of God's mouth is what they want.

  798. Like, they approach the Bible with a preconceived idea,

  799. with a belief, with a definition, with an idea,

  800. and then it's like, okay, now let's figure out

  801. how we can make God say what I want him to say

  802. and make him actually agree with me,

  803. and then they'll go visit churches

  804. and they want to just agree

  805. with every single thing that the pastor's saying.

  806. And they just wanna find a pastor

  807. where they can hear their own opinions

  808. coming out of the pastor's mouth.

  809. Now this is the wrong attitude

  810. because at the end of the day,

  811. we are all wrong about something,

  812. we all have blind spots,

  813. we all have areas of ignorance in our life,

  814. and so we should expect that sometimes

  815. we're gonna come across things in the Bible

  816. that go against our beliefs.

  817. We're gonna come across things in preaching,

  818. in church, where the pastor gets up

  819. and preaches the opposite of what we believe.

  820. And those are the things that challenge us

  821. where sometimes we need to change

  822. and realize, hey, I was wrong about this

  823. because I read this verse in the Bible

  824. and it actually fixed my belief.

  825. Or you know what, I used to believe this way,

  826. I showed up at church, the pastor preached a sermon,

  827. boy, now I see things totally differently.

  828. I mean, I would hate to go to church

  829. for years and years and years

  830. and the pastor has never changed my mind about anything,

  831. the pastor's never taught me anything new,

  832. I'm never challenged by anything coming from the pulpit,

  833. nothing in my Bible readings ever challenged me that,

  834. what would even be the point?

  835. If you just already know everything

  836. and you already just believe exactly right all the time,

  837. then it sounds like you just know everything,

  838. you don't even need any church.

  839. You can go have church in the living room

  840. with your wife and you're better

  841. than everyone and so forth.

  842. But that's just not true.

  843. We all need to keep learning and growing

  844. and we don't wanna be these people

  845. who just only want to hear stuff

  846. that we already agree with.

  847. We need to be okay with God correcting us

  848. and rebuking us, reproving us,

  849. exhorting us, challenging us.

  850. And so here you have a good, spirit-filled man of God

  851. preaching a true sermon and these guys are on board.

  852. They actually respond positively,

  853. but it's not because they're great guys,

  854. it's not because they just have so much respect

  855. for the word of God,

  856. it's not because the preacher has changed their minds,

  857. it's because the preacher is telling them something

  858. that they already wanted to hear.

  859. So in the past, he's been preaching against their sin,

  860. they didn't like it.

  861. Now all of a sudden,

  862. he's preaching something that they're into

  863. and they're just like, let's go, let's do it.

  864. So God is obviously going to use these people

  865. to carry out his will.

  866. He's gonna use Jihu and all his buddies

  867. to carry out his will to destroy the house of Ahab,

  868. to destroy Jezebel, but here's the thing,

  869. what you're gonna find is that

  870. as soon as these people take over,

  871. you know what they're gonna do?

  872. They're gonna bring in the same old sins

  873. and Jihu's not gonna end up unfortunately being a good king

  874. because Jihu starts out awesome.

  875. Like in this chapter, you're just loving Jihu,

  876. next chapter, you're loving Jihu

  877. and you're seeing Jihu carry out all of these great acts

  878. and he completely just obliterates Baal worship,

  879. just gets rid, he kills so many prophets of Baal.

  880. I mean, he's just totally bringing down the wrath of God

  881. and he's not doing it alone,

  882. he's doing it with his buddies here.

  883. But as soon as he takes power though,

  884. you know what he's gonna do is,

  885. yeah, they're not worshiping Baal anymore,

  886. so it's like a lesser evil,

  887. but he gets them back on the sins of Jeroboam

  888. and he gets them back on the golden calf

  889. and it's still idolatry, it's still false religion,

  890. it's not like as bad of a false religion.

  891. Like he takes them from like,

  892. I guess takes them from Islam to Catholicism

  893. or something, you know what I mean, or whatever.

  894. He basically just takes them

  895. from one false religion to another, okay?

  896. He ends up being a bad guy,

  897. so we don't wanna get too excited about these people

  898. just because they're responding to the preaching

  899. because just a minute ago, they hate the preacher

  900. and everything he says is false

  901. and then he says something that they like

  902. and they're like, oh, we can, yeah, we can do that.

  903. I mean, Jihu is king, we like Jihu, cool, yeah.

  904. Tell me more things that I wanna hear.

  905. And you know, there are people that'll get really excited

  906. about my preaching on certain subjects.

  907. You know, you have some guy online

  908. who's just super negative about the Jews or something,

  909. so he'll hear me preach some super hard sermon

  910. against Jews and Judaism

  911. and he's just smashing that follow, subscribe,

  912. oh, this is so awesome.

  913. Then I start preaching the rest of the Bible

  914. and it's like, oh, you need to go back

  915. to just talking about the Jews.

  916. It's like, shut up, you're out of here.

  917. Block you fool.

  918. You get these one issue people, right?

  919. Where it's just like,

  920. or they're super into the end time stuff

  921. but then they're a heretic over here on this other thing.

  922. And you get these people that just get super excited

  923. when you're telling them what they wanna hear

  924. but they don't want the full compliment

  925. of God's doctrine and the whole Bible.

  926. And you know what?

  927. I have striven over the years

  928. not to be a one trick pony.

  929. You know, I don't wanna be this pastor

  930. that's just only always ripping on homos.

  931. I don't wanna be a pastor

  932. that's always talking about science.

  933. I don't wanna be a pastor

  934. that's always talking about King James' onlyism.

  935. I don't wanna be a pastor

  936. that's just always preaching only salvation sermons

  937. or just only in times, only political,

  938. only against the Jews.

  939. And there are people like that you could point to

  940. where just everything is political.

  941. Everything's creationism.

  942. Everything is King James.

  943. Everything is this, that or the other.

  944. It's imbalanced, right?

  945. I wanna be a guy where I'm preaching the whole Bible,

  946. all different subjects, positive, negative,

  947. you know, just going the whole gamut of the whole Bible

  948. and you'll get these immature people

  949. that only want that one issue.

  950. And they're not gonna pan out in the long run.

  951. Those are the people that don't pan out.

  952. The people that are panning out.

  953. The people in this room

  954. that have been at this church for years,

  955. serving God for years,

  956. they're not just here just only.

  957. I just love it when Pastor Anderson rips on sodomites

  958. and that's why I'm here.

  959. It's like, no, they're here for all of it.

  960. The people who've been here for five years,

  961. 10 years, 15 years, 20 years,

  962. they're here for all of it.

  963. They love all of it.

  964. They love the whole Bible.

  965. They love soul winning.

  966. They love end times.

  967. They love the King James.

  968. They love hearing the deep sermons.

  969. They love to hear the face ripping sermons.

  970. They love to hear the encouraging sermons.

  971. We wanna be well balanced people, right?

  972. And that love the Lord,

  973. and we love him with all our heart

  974. and we love everything about the Bible.

  975. That's what we need.

  976. These people aren't like that.

  977. They like only one sermon that this guy preached.

  978. The one where he says,

  979. Jihu's gonna be the next king

  980. and he's gonna smoke the house of Ahab.

  981. They're like, yeah, great, we love that preaching.

  982. So they say, Jihu is king.

  983. I don't have time, obviously,

  984. to go through all this,

  985. but it just kind of gives all of the details

  986. of them going and bringing the wrath of God upon them.

  987. Let's just jump down to verse number 21.

  988. It says in Joram said,

  989. make ready and his chariot was made ready

  990. and Joram king of Israel

  991. and he as I, king of Judah went out

  992. each in his chariot

  993. and they went out against Jihu

  994. and met him in the portion of Naboth the Jezreelite.

  995. So notice the poetic justice here

  996. that Naboth was the one that they had killed

  997. and it's like God's gonna bring judgment

  998. in Naboth's exact parcel of land

  999. just so that everybody realizes,

1000. okay, even though this happened 13 years ago,

1001. this is a punishment because of what y'all did to Naboth

1002. and it's all coming to get you right now.

  1003. And here's the thing,

1004. it's not just the king of Israel

1005. but it's also as I, king of Judah.

  1006. And again, remember,

1007. the kings of Israel are worse than the kings of Judah.

1008. Kings of Israel are a bad influence on the kings of Judah.

1009. The kings of Judah should not be hanging around

1010. with the kings of Israel because they're bad influence.

1011. But because the king of Judah is hanging around

1012. with the king of Israel,

1013. he's gonna get smoked too because here's the thing.

1014. You know, you don't wanna be hanging around

1015. with the enemies of God when they get punished.

1016. When God is bringing down his vengeance and his wrath

1017. upon people who have done wickedly

1018. and persecuted the people of God,

1019. you know what, you don't wanna be near them.

1020. Remember when Korah, Dathan, and Abiram

1021. are speaking against Moses and Aaron

1022. and God's about to destroy Korah, Dathan,

1023. Abiram and all their company, hundreds of people,

1024. he says, anybody who fears God,

1025. get away from the tents of these wicked men.

1026. You do not wanna be standing near them

1027. when God brings the judgment upon them

1028. because you will end up getting caught in the crossfire.

1029. You know, if some church is cursed by God,

1030. if some pastor is involved in super wicked behavior,

1031. you don't wanna be a part of that team

1032. when God is coming and bringing down

1033. the hammer on those people.

1034. You don't wanna be hooked up with those kind of people.

1035. You wanna separate yourself from the company

  1036. of those wicked men.

1037. That's why we shouldn't be in the company

1038. of people who've been church disciplined, right?

1039. These people have been delivered over to Satan

1040. for the destruction of the flesh.

1041. They're supposed to be a heathen and a publican on us.

1042. Why would you want to fellowship

1043. and hang around with people that have been church disciplined?

1044. You know, I'm talking about people

1045. who've been church disciplined for a legitimate reason.

1046. And I'm not even just saying from our church.

1047. People who've been church disciplined

1048. from any church for a legitimate reason.

  1049. I mean, imagine this.

1050. Imagine a guy getting church disciplined

  1051. for denying the Trinity.

  1052. I mean, that's pretty bad.

1053. When you're denying the Trinity,

1054. saying it's polytheistic and you're full blown,

1055. just one this modalist denying the Trinity

1056. and your independent fundamental Baptist church

  1057. kicks you out, right?

  1058. And there's a guy like this.

1059. He was kicked out of a church in Texas.

1060. And, you know, this is not a church that we approve of.

1061. This is not a church that we're friends with.

1062. But as a church in Texas,

1063. kicks this guy out for being against the Trinity,

1064. for being a damnable heretic,

1065. he's thrown out of the church,

1066. legitimately thrown out of the church.

1067. But then another fundamental Baptist

  1068. decides it's a good idea

1069. to bring him on his podcast

1070. to hear about his views on why the Trinity is wrong

  1071. and let's give him a platform,

1072. let's put him on YouTube

1073. and let him just get his message out

  1074. to thousands of people.

  1075. Let's help this guy.

1076. It's like, if this guy was excommunicated

1077. from a Baptist church for a legitimate reason,

1078. then the Bible teaches he's under the curse of God.

1079. So why would we want to then,

1080. hey, we gotta be nice to this guy,

1081. and he even said, be nice to him.

  1082. Be nice to him.

  1083. Let's give him a platform.

  1084. You know what?

1085. You are now a partaker of his evil deeds is what you are.

1086. You're participating in his evil deeds.

1087. You know, and there's a saying in German,

  1088. mitgegangen, mitgefangen, mitgangen, okay?

1089. And it means, you know, you went together,

  1090. you were caught together,

1091. and you're hung together, right?

1092. Because you know, when you're hanging around the wrong people,

1093. you end up getting smoked along with them.

1094. And we do have a few German speakers in the crowd

1095. that just got that right away.

1096. So the Bible says here,

1097. that Isaiah, he's there in the mix,

1098. king of Judah, they went out against Jehu,

1099. met him in the portion of Naboth the Jeseralite,

1100. verse 22, it came to pass when Joram saw Jehu,

1101. that he said, is it peace, Jehu?

1102. I mean, can we all just get along?

1103. And he answered, what peace?

1104. So long as the Hordom's of yo mama, Jezebel,

1105. and her witchcrafts are so many.

1106. How can we have peace when your mom's a whore?

1107. And when she's killing the people of God

1108. and persecuting the people of God.

1109. What peace as long as the Hordom's of my mother,

1110. Jezebel, and her witchcraft are so many.

1111. Now right away, when he hears this answer,

1112. he realizes this peace talk isn't really going

1113. the way that I thought it was gonna go.

1114. And so he says, Joram turned his hands and fled

1115. and said to Isaiah, there's treachery on Isaiah.

1116. And Jehu drew a bow with his full strength

1117. and smote Jehoram between his arms

1118. and the arrow went out at his heart

1119. and he sunk down in his chariot.

1120. Then said, Jehu to bid car his captain,

1121. take up and cast him in the portion

1122. of the field of Naboth, the Jezreelite,

1123. for remember how that when I and thou rode together

1124. after Ahab his father, the Lord laid this burden upon him.

1125. So it's kind of funny that back when Elijah

1126. had first confronted Ahab in the portion of Naboth,

1127. Jehu and them were actually around.

1128. Even though back then they were just kind of nobodies.

1129. They were kind of just young guys in Ahab's army.

1130. And they actually heard the original sermon

1131. like 13 or so years earlier.

1132. And he's like, hey, let's fulfill Bible prophecy here.

1133. We killed him, now let's throw him here.

1134. Hey, Elijah said this was gonna happen 13 years ago.

  1135. And it's almost like a self-fulfilling prophecy

1136. because they're like, hey, let's do what Elijah said

1137. was gonna happen and just throw him here.

1138. And that's what they end up doing.

1139. And he's like, man, remember, we heard that preaching.

1140. Because it's like, this is kind of a cool moment

1141. because as they're fulfilling prophecy

1142. and then it like dawns on them,

1143. whoa, we're actually fulfilling prophecy right now.

1144. Like we, you know, it's kind of like it just clicked.

1145. What are the, we're actually here.

1146. Oh, remember, this is what he said was gonna happen

  1147. and we're doing it.

1148. Well, let's finish it now.

1149. Throw the body here in Naboth's field.

1150. It's a good fitting place for it to end up.

1151. Surely I have seen yesterday, verse 26,

1152. the blood of Naboth and the blood of his son,

1153. sayeth the Lord, and I will requite thee

1154. in this plat, sayeth the Lord,

1155. now therefore take and cast them into the platter of ground,

1156. according to the word of the Lord.

1157. But when A.S.I., the king of Judah saw this,

1158. he fled by the way of the garden house.

1159. And Jehu followed after him and said,

1160. smite him also in the chariot.

1161. And they did so at the going up to Gerr,

1162. which is by Iblum and he fled to Megiddo and died there.

1163. And his servants carried him in a chariot to Jerusalem

1164. and buried him in his sepulchre

1165. with his fathers in the city of David.

1166. And in the 11th year of Joram,

1167. the son of A.I. began as I had a reign over Judah.

1168. And when Jehu was come to Jezreel, Jezebel heard of it

1169. and she painted her face and tired her head

1170. and looked out at a window.

1171. She thinks that somehow she's going to impress them

  1172. with her appearance, right?

1173. She thinks that if she looks super regal

  1174. and important and impressive,

1175. that somehow she's gonna intimidate them

1176. or scare them or whatever.

1177. And so she puts on her clown makeup and she paints her face.

1178. She tired her, it makes me think of that meme

1179. of the guy like putting on the clown makeup.

1180. This is Jezebel painting her face.

1181. She tired her, this is like our word attire for clothing.

1182. So she's dressing her hair,

1183. doing a fancy hairdo of some kind, dressing her hair.

1184. We think of the English word hairdresser, right?

1185. So she's tiring her head.

1186. She looks out the window

1187. and as Jehu entered in at the gate, she said,

1188. had Zimra'i peace who slew his master?

1189. So she's basically going back in the history of Israel

1190. to a king who overthrew another king

1191. and he ended up just immediately getting smoked

1192. because again, he didn't have the mandate of God here.

1193. God has told Jehu, execute my fierce wrath

1194. upon the house of Ahab.

1195. And so he has God on his side

1196. whereas Zimra'i didn't have God on his side.

  1197. That's the colossal difference.

1198. And you know, so many things are like this in this world.

  1199. It's like, well, what's the difference

1200. between this situation over here and this situation?

  1201. Well, here's the difference.

1202. One of them is on the Lord's side

1203. and one of them is on the devil's side.

  1204. That's the difference.

  1205. Any questions?

1206. A lot of things in this world can look similar

1207. but one of them's right and one of them's wrong.

1208. One of them is in accordance with scripture,

  1209. one of them isn't.

1210. One of them is for the Lord, one of them is for the devil.

1211. And so she's like, well, had Zimra'i peace?

  1212. Who slew his master?

1213. And he lifted up his face to the window

1214. and said, who's on my side?

1215. He doesn't even answer her.

1216. He doesn't even seem like he even looks at her.

  1217. He doesn't even care.

1218. She totally wasted her time putting on all this makeup.

1219. It probably just made the dogs choke a little bit.

1220. They had to choke on all the chemicals

1221. and all the human foreskins

1222. and everything that go into makeup.

  1223. And so it's true.

  1224. Look it up.

1225. And so basically, he's just like, who's on my side?

  1226. Who?

1227. And they're looked out to him two or three eunuchs.

1228. So basically, he just looks up

1229. and she's got a tendance around her.

1230. And what is a eunuch?

1231. A eunuch is a man who has been castrated.

1232. So he has had his genitals removed.

1233. His stones have been removed.

1234. And the purpose for this is that what they don't want

1235. is they don't want the queen committing adultery

1236. with one of these guys.

1237. And obviously that is wicked because it's adultery,

1238. but also it could produce a bastard son.

1239. And then you think it's the king's son

1240. and it's just the son of some random guy or whatever.

  1241. They don't want that.

1242. So they wanna protect her chastity

1243. and they also wanna protect her genetics here

1244. of actually having an heir of the actual king.

1245. So throughout history, you would have these men

1246. that are mutilated, they are castrated,

1247. so that they can basically work around the queen

1248. and nobody has to worry about them fathering a child

1249. because they biologically, physically can't even do it

1250. because they don't have the equipment to do it.

1251. So that's what these eunuchs are.

1252. And so these eunuchs are up there.

1253. They've been sterilized in the worst possible way.

1254. And they're up there and he says, who's on my side?

1255. And some of these eunuchs kinda give him the signal

1256. like, yeah, we're on your side.

1257. And then what does he tell them to do?

1258. He said, throw her down, so they threw her down.

1259. And some of her blood was sprinkled on the wall

1260. and on the horses and he trod her underfoot.

1261. So she gets thrown out the window

1262. and she literally goes splat according to the Bible.

1263. Okay, and then just as a little just victory lap,

1264. D.U. just decides to just ride his horse on top of her,

  1265. just for no reason.

1266. Just he just rides over her just to desecrate her

1267. and just to humiliate her further.

1268. So she puts on the fancy outfit, fancy hairdo, fancy makeup,

1269. you know, a couple of eunuchs throw her out the window,

1270. she goes splat, she gets ridden over

1271. and then she's just out there in the street laying there

1272. and then the res dogs come and take care of the rest.

1273. Okay, now here's what I love about these eunuchs,

1274. you know, is that, you know, if you think about it,

1275. the last thing any of us men want is to become eunuchs.

1276. You know, like most men would hear this and be like,

1277. Lord, I thank thee that I am not as other men,

1278. even as this eunuch here, you know.

1279. Thank you that the family jewels are still intact.

1280. Okay, obviously we men, you know, it's a part of our body

1281. that we would like to keep, thank you very much.

1282. You know, the only thing more important to me is my mind.

1283. You know, I don't want to lose my mind,

1284. but second only to that is I don't want to lose

  1285. the family jewels, okay?

1286. And so, you know, the eunuch, if you think about it,

1287. you know, the eunuch, you know,

1288. he hasn't really gotten a fair shake in life, has he?

1289. I mean, this guy, he's not living his best life now.

1290. You know, and by the way, you know, in the Middle Ages,

1291. they used to actually mutilate men in this exact same way

1292. to sing in the Catholic church.

  1293. And they're called castratos.

1294. And the reason that they did this

1295. is because they didn't want to have women in the choir.

1296. They didn't want to have women singing in church.

1297. They wanted it to be all men,

1298. but they need those high voices.

1299. So they'd get these young boys

1300. that are really good singers and they would mutilate them.

1301. And it was illegal, but it was just happening all the time

  1302. to thousands of them.

1303. So there's just thousands of guys that are mutilating them.

1304. And then these guys would make big money

1305. and they're singing and everything,

1306. but you know what, I don't care how good the money is,

  1307. no thank you.

1308. And so they're up there, I guess, singing like Michael Jackson

1309. because, you know, they've been castrated or whatever.

1310. So if you think about these eunuchs though,

1311. all joking aside, these guys have gotten kind of a bum

  1312. deal in life.

1313. But you know what, they're still being used by God.

1314. Like they're still on the Lord's side.

1315. They still do something great for God.

1316. They're still used by God.

1317. And so it goes to show me that, you know,

1318. no matter what situation you find yourself in in life,

1319. and no matter how unlucky you are, unfortunate,

1320. you know what, you can still be used for God.

1321. You can still be on the Lord's side

1322. and do the right thing.

  1323. And you know, there's actually a,

  1324. I didn't plan on going here,

1325. but let's just go there and we can be done with this.

1326. But, you know, let's just go to Isaiah

1327. because there's actually a really cool passage

1328. about eunuchs in the book of Isaiah

1329. that I think really illustrates

1330. what I'm trying to get across here.

1331. And I'm doing this on the fly.

  1332. It's either Isaiah 56 or 58.

  1333. I want to say 56.

1334. Yeah, it looks like 56.

1335. Isaiah chapter 56, let me just find it.

    Isaiah 56 chapter mention

1336. Or somebody help me find it.

1337. If you know, some of you out there know where I'm going.

1338. Okay, Isaiah 56 verse three.

1339. So here's the thing, you know, yeah.

1340. Here's the funny part though,

1341. since we're not going back to 2 Kings 9.

1342. After she got thrown out the window

1343. and he rides over her

1344. and then she starts getting eaten by the dogs,

1345. he sits down to have a meal.

1346. So G.U. is just sitting down eating his burger and fries

1347. and just kind of just hanging out.

1348. And then he starts to feel bad.

1349. He starts to feel a little guilty, I guess,

1350. because he says, you know what?

1351. I think that we should actually bury Jezebel

  1352. because she is a king's daughter.

1353. Maybe that was a little much, you know,

1354. just driving over the body

1355. and just leaving it out there

1356. and letting the dogs eat it.

1357. And so he's like, you know, maybe that was too much.

1358. Maybe we should bury the body.

1359. He sends them out to look for it

1360. and all they find is like a skull

1361. and like the palms of her hand

1362. and like an ear or something.

1363. Like they just find like a few little pieces

1364. and yeah, that's what they bury.

1365. But then he's like, well, it's a fulfillment of prophecy

1366. because the Bible said the dogs will eat Jezebel.

1367. And so the res dogs ate well that night.

1368. But look at Isaiah 56.

  1369. I love this passage.

1370. It says in verse three,

1371. neither let the son of the stranger,

1372. this is like a foreigner, somebody who's not an Israelite,

1373. neither let the son of the stranger

1374. that had joined himself to the Lord

1375. speak saying, the Lord has utterly separated me

  1376. from his people.

1377. You know, this idea that like,

  1378. oh, you're a Jew and I'm a Gentile.

1379. It's like, no, no, once you've joined yourself

1380. under the Lord, you're one of the people of God.

1381. And so don't let the stranger think,

1382. oh, the Lord has utterly separated me from his people.

1383. Neither let the eunuch say,

  1384. behold, I'm a dry tree.

1385. Right, because he can't physically reproduce folks.

1386. So, you know, the tree brings forth fruit.

1387. The eunuch can't physically bring forth fruit.

1388. He doesn't have the equipment.

1389. And so he's saying, oh, I'm a dry tree.

1390. He says, no, no, let not the eunuch say he's a dry tree.

1391. For it does say at the Lord unto the eunuchs

1392. that keep my Sabbaths and choose the things

1393. that please me and take hold of my covenant.

1394. Even unto them will I give in my house

1395. and within my walls a place and a name

1396. better than of sons and of daughters.

1397. And I will give them an everlasting name

1398. that should not be cut off.

1399. He's saying, look, you know, even if you can't have

  1400. physical reproduction, physical fruit,

  1401. you can't bear children,

1402. you can't enjoy that marital relationship.

1403. You know what he says, I can bless you in other ways

1404. and give you, you know, an eternal reward

1405. and a name better than that of sons and daughters.

1406. And so, you know, it goes to show me that,

1407. that, you know, even people who don't make it

1408. in this life, maybe they don't make it romantically.

1409. Maybe they don't make it financially.

1410. Maybe they don't make it socially.

1411. Maybe they don't make it in whatever the case.

  1412. You know what?

1413. The Bible is saying God can still greatly use those people.

  1414. He loves those people.

1415. He's gonna bless those people

1416. and those people could get great rewards

1417. for all eternity because you know what?

1418. The time is short, my friends.

1419. And soon it won't be a difference

1420. between the one who is married and single,

1421. you know, or the one who has children

1422. or does not have children.

1423. The one who has his, you know,

1424. stuff intact versus the one who has been chopped off

1425. because you know what, at the end of the day, right?

  1426. We're going to heaven.

  1427. It's gonna be eternal.

1428. It's gonna be thousands of years, millions of years

1429. and this life is a vapor that appears

1430. for a little time and then vanishes away.

1431. And so, you know, if you're a eunuch tonight

1432. and I don't think we have any eunuchs here tonight,

1433. but you know, if you're a eunuch in some other area,

1434. maybe, you know, metaphorically speaking,

1435. some part of your life that's dear to you has been cut off.

1436. You know, you've had to give up something, you know?

1437. And so we're taking a very loose interpretation here.

1438. You know, you've had to give up something.

1439. You've had to skip something.

1440. You've had to forego something important to you.

  1441. You know what?

1442. Just realize that whatever we give up for the Lord,

  1443. he's gonna reward us a hundredfold.

1444. And so instead of just going through life,

  1445. oh man, I can't believe I lost this

1446. or I gave up this or I missed this opportunity

1447. or I missed this body part.

  1448. Because you know what?

1449. There could be people who are missing other body parts too.

1450. And just have severe illnesses

1451. and just have, you know, relationships

  1452. that are permanently destroyed.

1453. Branches of the family that have been cut off, you know?

1454. And just financial things and just whatever.

1455. Realize that God still loves you.

1456. God can still use you.

1457. You can still be super blessed

1458. and you can actually maybe even do more for God sometimes

1459. than the one that's whole over here.

1460. And so nothing wrong with being a stranger.

1461. Nothing wrong with being a eunuch.

  1462. Live for God.

1463. And God's not a respecter of persons.

1464. He's not looking down at the strangers and eunuchs

  1465. as second class.

1466. He sees them as first class.

1467. Let's bribes end up with a prayer.

1468. Father, we thank you so much for your word, Lord.

1469. We thank you for this great chapter in Second Kings.

1470. And Lord God, let us not give in to this world

1471. and think that preaching is insane

1472. or that being a fundamental Baptist is insane

1473. or that, you know, taking the Bible seriously is insane.

1474. Lord, help us to be ready to hear the word of God

1475. and to listen to the real men of God.

1476. And when they're up there going crazy behind the pulpit,

1477. preaching hard, Lord, help us to receive that truth

1478. and not just the parts that we already like,

1479. but help us to receive all the biblical truth

1480. that you have for us, Lord.

1481. And Lord, those of us that have maybe had losses

1482. or disappointments or whatever mutilations in our life, Lord,

1483. help us to stay encouraged and keep serving you

  1484. and trusting you.

1485. And in Jesus' name we pray amen.
