  1. In First Corinthians chapter 6 and verse 20, the Apostle Paul

    1 Corinthians 6 chapter mention

  2. said for you were bought at a price.

  3. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit which

  4. are Gods. There's much discussion in the

  5. religious world. Today regarding the question,

  6. what is God's purpose for my life?

  7. But God's purpose for your life is the exact same thing as his

  8. purpose for my life and that is to serve him with every fiber of

  9. our being within the roles that he's allowed us to have.

  10. Have and within the talents that he has given us to serve him all

  11. the days of our life. And number two to glorify him in

  12. all that we do. That is our reason for

  13. existence, that's our reason for living.

  14. But the question is, what is the glory of God?

  15. There are two aspects to the glory of God aspect.

  16. Number one, there's the glory that God has in himself.

  17. For example in Isaiah, chapter 6.

    Isaiah 6 chapter mention

  18. When Isaiah saw in a vision the Lord high and lifted up.

  19. The Bible says that his train or his robe filled, the temple,

  20. showing the magnificence, and the glory of God.

  21. And you remember those six wings seraphim's said one to another

  22. exclaiming, one to another in honor of the Lord they said,

  23. holy holy, holy is the Lord of hosts.

  24. The whole earth is full of his glory.

  25. In other words, those Angelic beings were not giving God

  26. glory, they were recognizing that God had it.

  27. That is God. God's intrinsic Glory.

  28. That means it's the composite of all of his attributes.

  29. That is what God possesses naturally.

  30. And there's nothing that a man can do to add to or take away

  31. from the intrinsic value or intrinsic nature of God's glory.

  32. One more quick example to of God's intrinsic, glory in John

    John 11 chapter mention

  33. chapter 11, when Jesus waited you remember, before he was

  34. going to raise Lazarus from the dead.

  35. And at the, to me, fine. Ali says, four days later, he

  36. said, take away the stone and Martha said, but lord, it's been

  37. four days and behold he already stinketh And Jesus said, Martha,

  38. didn't I tell you if you would believe you would see the glory

  39. of God. In other words it was the

  40. composite of all of his attributes and the attribute.

  41. Going to be displayed was his Almighty power that is the

  42. nature that God has and God gets Glory based upon what he has in

  43. his intrinsic Glory. But secondly, there's Glory that

  44. is given to him from his creatures.

  45. Ephesians chapter 1 and verse 20 said, Paul said that Christ may

    Ephesians 1 chapter mention

  46. be magnified in my body. Now, Paul didn't mean that Jesus

  47. Christ is to be improved upon. He meant that in the eyes of the

  48. world. Jesus Christ needs to be exalted

  49. through him and that must be the aim in the purpose of every bit

  50. of our life. All of us that try to serve God.

  51. One more passage along this line, though.

  52. Jesus set the example, in John chapter 8 and verse 50.

    John 8 chapter mention

  53. When Jesus said, I Seek not mine own Glory, but the glory of him

  54. that sent me, in other words, I lived to bring him glory.

  55. I live to radiate his attributes.

  56. I live to Adorn the doctrine of God.

  57. I live to exalt. God and honor God, in the eyes

  58. of the world. That is the purpose of my life.

  59. Well, for tonight, just for a few minutes, I want to talk

  60. about three practical ways that we can glorify God in our life.

  61. Number one, we glorify God, when we confess our sins, you know

  62. maybe you've not thought about that.

  63. Maybe you've not thought about the fact that your glory god

  64. glorify God when you confess your sins but when you confess

  65. sin you really do. Glorify God.

  66. Do you remember the thief on the cross?

  67. Jesus being crucified between those two mouth factors and one

  68. of them said that Jesus, if you are, who you say you are, why

  69. don't you save yourself at us? The other one said in Luke 23

  70. and And 41 we indeed suffer justly, in other words, when you

  71. confess your sins to God, you glorify God because you're

  72. telling God, it is all your fault.

  73. It is my fault when I sin, I accept full responsibility for

  74. my sins. God is never at fault.

  75. You know? Some say today you know, yeah

  76. it's my sin but these were the extenuating circumstances Beyond

  77. My Control. These are the things that led to

  78. my demise. So really, it wasn't totally my

  79. fault. Some have even tried to blame

  80. God. But Nehemiah 9, + 33 says Thou

  81. Art just in all that is brought upon On us.

  82. God is not responsible for your sin, nor for mine.

  83. And when we admit that, God gets the glory, but let me give you a

  84. passage. In first, John 1:9 very

    John 1:9

  85. encouraging passage regarding our sins and regarding

  86. forgiveness. And John said, if we confess our

  87. sins, he's faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to

  88. cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

  89. Now, confession of the Bible is not reluctant Ian.

  90. It's not they got me dead to rights.

  91. I have no choice. I have no other way out.

  92. I've got to make this problem go away.

  93. So I'll just quickly, make a confession and make it go away.

  94. May, I also say tonight that confession without repentance is

  95. meaningless? Confession without repentance,

  96. does us? No good at all.

  97. You know, when I was a young boy growing up.

  98. It's amazing. How many things?

  99. My father said to me that I thought were really well, I

  100. thought we were out of line at the time, I'll admit that I

  101. remember when I would say to my father for things that I would

  102. do, I would say Dad, I'm really sorry, I'm really sorry, and I

  103. would stand there with a smile on my face, and I would what my

  104. dad just say. That's all right, son, I forgive

  105. you. My father one time said when I

  106. repeatedly kept doing the same thing over and over, when I

  107. finally said, I'm sorry. He said, are you really sorry or

  108. are you sorry? It just got caught.

  109. And I thought, what a rotten thing to say to me.

  110. How awful? And then he said this, why don't

  111. you be sorry before you do it? How about that?

  112. Confession of the Bible and confession In this passage,

  113. literally comes from the Greek word.

  114. That means to say the same. In other words, when you confess

  115. your sins to God, you are literally saying the same thing

  116. to God. That God says about that sin,

  117. God hates that sin. You're saying I hate that sin

  118. to, you know, what else you're doing.

  119. You're saying it's my fault, all my fault.

  120. That's confession with Godly sorrow, that's confession with

  121. repentance. And that's the confession that

  122. says the Anything about that sin that God says.

  123. And God says those sins are forgiven confession.

  124. Glorifies God. Number two, we glorify God.

  125. Also when we trust him, we need to trust God, more than just

  126. with our lips and just buy the things in which we say.

  127. We're either going to submit ourselves to God and our life to

  128. God, and put our life In His Hands, in both time or eternity

  129. or were not. In Romans chapter 4 and verse

    Romans 4 chapter mention

  130. 20, it says Abraham was strong in faith, giving glory to God.

  131. God is glorified when we trust him, but understand this

  132. unbelief questions. God, the Bible says that by my

  133. God, shall supply all your needs, according to the riches

  134. in him in Christ Jesus. Now, I understand that sometimes

  135. we have things that are very difficult in our life when you

  136. go through something that is very difficult in your life.

  137. And everybody that is looking at your life and looking at your

  138. example and they know that you have faith and you're not

  139. wavering at all. And you put all of your trust in

  140. your faith in God. The whole world sees it, and God

  141. gets the glory. on the other hand, if the world sees the

  142. opposite, Then God is made a liar.

  143. First, John chapter 5 and 6. And 10 says he that believeth

    John 5 chapter mention

  144. not makes God a liar. Now, you don't really make God a

  145. liar and his nature but you make him a liar or appear to be a

  146. liar or in essence, you accuse him as such but you know, Faith

  147. problems are nothing new. If we look to the New Testament

  148. in the days that Jesus walked in the face of the Earth with his

  149. disciples. I've counted at least five times

  150. that Jesus said to his disciples.

  151. Oh Oh, ye of little faith. You know, they it wasn't they

  152. didn't have any faith. It's that they had little weak

  153. Faith. They didn't have great enough

  154. faith and there's a difference and there's the difference in

  155. your life, too. Little faith is trusting in God

  156. because you see what God has already done.

  157. For example, I've got a roof over my head.

  158. You see I got faith. God provides.

  159. I have food on my table. You see.

  160. I got faith. God provides.

  161. I've Got a Car in my driveway. You see?

  162. I have faith. God provides.

  163. Yeah, big deal. Little faith is trusting God

  164. because you see what he's already done.

  165. But great faith is trusting God when you've got nothing in your

  166. hand. That's the kind of faith that we

  167. need to have faith and trust in God.

  168. And when you trust God like that you glorify him as one man said

  169. God honors Faith. Because Faith, honors God.

  170. But finally, we glorify God when we bear fruit in our life,

  171. bearing fruit in our life is imperative.

  172. Now, it is true that we praise God with our lips.

  173. And fact, that is something that we must do.

  174. God is worthy of our praise. And every way and we Do praise

  175. him with our lips, but praising God.

  176. With our lips is not enough. We must bear fruit.

  177. And let me make this point about praising God with your lips.

  178. We're talking about the verbalizing of God's wonderful.

  179. Works Psalm 50 and 23 says, whoso offers, praise glorifies

  180. me. I said all this to say this,

  181. let's make sure that the words that we say, have meaning You

  182. can have good words and good words can become vain without

  183. meaning. We give you an example, I was

  184. talking to a guy one time for about 10 minutes.

  185. He was a self-proclaimed, pastor of some sort and every time I

  186. said something, he would say either.

  187. Amen, or praise God, he would say the words.

  188. Praise God praising, God is a wonderful thing, but just

  189. because you say the words, it doesn't mean you're actually

  190. praising God. So I would say Nothing.

  191. He would say the words, praise God.

  192. I would say something else. They would say amen.

  193. And after about 10 minutes, I had enough.

  194. And I said well I got to go, I'm gonna go have some lunch you

  195. know he said amen I thought seriously.

  196. You're going to amen lunch. Make sure that the words are not

  197. aimless and without meaning. We need to glorify God though by

  198. bearing fruit in our life, John 15.

  199. And 8 says, remember this in this is my father glorified that

  200. you bear much fruit. Now, what is that?

  201. Why is that? It's then that the world can see

  202. the results of a god feel fulfilled life.

  203. The reason that people sometimes have trouble with defining, our

  204. God is because they can't see enough in us, there was a German

  205. philosopher, one time that said this, you show me your redeemed

  206. life? And I might believe in your

  207. Redeemer. God is honored when we bear

  208. fruit Philippians 1, 10 and 11. That you may approve the things

  209. that are excellent that you may be sincere and without a fence

  210. till the day of Christ, being filled with the fruits of

  211. righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ to the glory and

  212. praise of God. Now, here's the sad contrast.

  213. Here's the flip side to that. Romans 2 and 24.

  214. Let it never be said, these words of us for the name of God

  215. is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of View, let it never be

  216. that because of our Behavior. Whoever you are young person old

  217. person in between person. It doesn't matter.

  218. Let it never be that in our life because of our behavior.

  219. That the name of God is blasphemed because of us.

  220. That's very tragic. Well, we glorify God when we

  221. demonstrate that in, good works so much more.

  222. I'd like to say, but I'm going to wrap my remarks up with this.

  223. There's something else that's very important folks, when you

  224. talk about bearing fruit and you talk about works and that's your

  225. attitude. Your attitude is everything.

  226. Your attitude is the aroma of your heart.

  227. It is the mindset. It's all about attitude.

  228. Never underestimate the importance of a good positive.

  229. Attitude. For example, you got two guys

  230. right there. One says I can.

  231. The other says, I can't guess what?

  232. You're both right. That's fact, you're both right.

  233. Attitudes and deeds. Glorify God, our attitude needs

  234. to be that the church is the greatest thing that a person

  235. will ever be a member of or a part of, in all their life.

  236. I'm going to tell you something right now.

  237. God's people are not perfect perfect.

  238. But I'll tell you the greatest people in the world are God's

  239. people. That's fact.

  240. The greatest thing you will ever be a member of is the Lord's

  241. Church. We need to have the mindset and

  242. the attitude. It's the greatest thing we'll

  243. ever be a part of and be enthused and excited about The

  244. Greatest Story Ever Told, and preach the gospel to the world

  245. with the attitude that people wanted.

  246. If our attitude is it's all gone to the dogs, there's no more

  247. good. Nobody wants it.

  248. Nobody wants to do what's right there.

  249. Just a few of us left over here in the corner.

  250. I'm going to say some folks, we will save no one Let's get

  251. enthused and excited about The Greatest Story Ever Told, what

  252. does God want for your life? Here it is.

  253. God wants you to glorify him with your life.

  254. So you can enjoy him forever. Be encouraged moving forward.

  255. Glorify God in all that you do. And I'll tell you something, we

  256. can get to heaven. And let's be determined to take

  257. as many people with us as we possibly can.
