  1. Well, last evening, we talked about the credibility that we

  2. can put in the, in the Bible, the offered proofs of its

  3. inspiration and its veracity. And tonight I want to sort of

  4. continue in that vein of thought and say that if we believe in

  5. God, as the Supreme Being, who created the heavens and the

  6. Earth and all things, therein then we must also believe.

  7. Believe that God has all power and authority, David describe

  8. God as being Eternal omniscient, omnipotent, and omnipresent in

  9. Psalm 20 and verse 1. David said Lord, thou has been

  10. our Dwelling Place in all generations.

  11. Before the mountains were brought forth or ever.

  12. Thou has formed the earth and the world even from Everlasting

  13. to Everlasting Thou Art God. A young children, want to know,

  14. where did God come from, and this passage answers that

  15. question. It says that God is from

  16. Everlasting to Everlasting. He didn't come from anywhere.

  17. He's not going anywhere. He is the self-existent Eternal

  18. God. Again, in Exodus 3 and 14, God

  19. said unto Moses, I am that I am. And he said, thus, shalt thou

  20. say unto the children of Israel, I am hath sent me unto you You

  21. in Genesis 17 and 1. The Bible tells us that when

  22. Abram was ninety years old and nine, the Lord appeared to Abram

  23. and said unto him, I am the almighty God.

  24. Walk there, before me and be thou perfect.

  25. Yes, God is Almighty. That is omniscient.

  26. He's um, omnipotent. He is omniscient.

  27. All-knowing omnipresent and eternal.

  28. Now considering this we see that all authority or power has been

  29. committed to Christ after Jesus had conquered death, hell and

  30. the grave. He stood before his disciples on

  31. the mountains said. All power is given unto me in

  32. the revised version. This is rendered all authority,

  33. is given unto me and in Matthew 17, and verse 5.

  34. That we noticed a moment ago, Jesus was on the mountain.

  35. That is called the Mount of transfiguration with his

  36. disciples we hear God acknowledging Christ and saying

  37. this is my beloved Son in whom I'm well pleased hear.

  38. Ye him that was in response to a suggestion by Imola by Peter

  39. that they build three Tabernacles one for Moses and

  40. one for Elijah and one for Christ.

  41. Well, you know, there was a time when men had to listen to Moses.

  42. There was a time when then had to give heed to Elijah.

  43. But now God says, I've committed all authority to Christ.

  44. You hear him in the Hebrews 11 and verse 1, we hear the Divine

  45. writer saying God who at sundry times and in divers manners

  46. spake in time past unto the father's by the prophets hath in

  47. these last days spoken unto us by his son, whom he hath

  48. appointed. Heir of All Things by whom also,

  49. he made the world's whoo. Being the brightness of his

  50. glory and the express image of his person and upholding All

  51. Things by the word of his power. When he had by himself purged,

  52. our sins sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high.

  53. Now, these Apostles that Jesus chose were good men, he chose

  54. them from the low walks of life. He took them under his tuition

  55. and talk them for three and a half years and Christ delegated

  56. this authority to the apostles to speak for him.

  57. And the Holy Spirit, unerringly guided those Apostles.

  58. This we learn from God's word and John 17 verses 8 and 14, 16

    John 17:8

  59. and 13 and 14. And 26.

  60. Now, these, holy inspired men of the 1st Century revealed and

  61. confirmed the final message of God to man all whooping,

  62. Practice in religion what is not contained in the apostles

  63. doctrine. That is the teaching of the

  64. Apostles, either under specific or under generic Authority sin

  65. in doing. So according to Galatians 1

    Galatians 1:6–9

  66. verses 6 through 9 in that place.

  67. The Apostle Paul said that that if any man was preaching,

  68. something that was not in accord with God.

  69. With what the Apostle Paul spake, he said, let him be

  70. accursed. Now again these holy men of God,

  71. spoke for Christ and acceptance of this truth that this is

  72. Authority from God and it is specific and generic Authority

  73. as well. That would revolutionize this

  74. world of ours because acceptance of this truth would prohibit

  75. people from Going back to the Old Testament for religious

  76. Authority. It would also make void 0,

  77. man-made, rules and human Creed's.

  78. It would put the pope and other human officers out of business.

  79. It would put an end to do nomination alone.

  80. Die aggressive practices if men would simply accept the fact

  81. that God has made his last Revelation to man and it

  82. contains the authority that God has.

  83. Well, remember God. God has all authority.

  84. He committed this authority to his son, Jesus Christ.

  85. Our Savior delegated authority to the apostles and they wrote

  86. it down for us and we have it in this little old black back book.

  87. That we call the Bible God's. Holy word. now, our question

  88. tonight is simply this Does it really matter what God says?

  89. You know, if we worked and establish the truth of God's

  90. word, then people still need to know how to answer this

  91. question. Does it make any difference?

  92. What God has said, are we free to accept it or to ignore it to

  93. reject it or to receive it? Does it make any difference?

  94. I say we're living in a time and in a society today that tells

  95. you, it doesn't matter. They tell us that oil.

  96. Well, if you want to deprive yourself by living, according to

  97. the strict mandates of God's word, then that's all right.

  98. But you see that's not for everybody.

  99. They say one of our president said in an interview that was

  100. printed in Christianity today that the approach to specific

  101. moral issues should Change as popular opinion changes.

  102. In other words, it doesn't really matter what God says what

  103. matters is public opinion? What it says and I say this is

  104. had a pervasive influence on our society today.

  105. In fact, it's had a pervasive influence on the church and some

  106. Christians have been heard to say that times have changed and

  107. the church should change along with the times and all listen,

  108. they're not talking about modes, Travel, they're not talking

  109. about methods of communication, they're not talking about rules

  110. of physical life. They're talking about obedience

  111. to the Eternal laws of God and this is where we come in

  112. conflict with God's will. Sometimes people like to think

  113. that we have altered the elementary, the Eternal truths

  114. of God's revelation, but we haven't altered God, and his

  115. character and his law, we have an altered sin, And sinners.

  116. So we see that this is error I find in the world today and

  117. sometimes in the church, there is a Live and Let Live Spirit.

  118. There's an attitude that were to say, nothing that would by any

  119. stretch of imagination, offend anyone, it's to be nothing but

  120. love, love, love, and I submit that, there is no Backbone in

  121. that kind of preaching. There's no backbone and gospel

  122. preaching if done under those circumstances and many times,

  123. unless that's what you're preaching, people despise the

  124. nature of it and they also despise the man who preaches it.

  125. I asked tonight, have we become so broad-minded, so liberal and

  126. view that it doesn't really matter.

  127. What God says how we become so tolerant that anything you want

  128. to believe anything. Thing you want a practice anyway

  129. you want to worship is simply thought to be okay.

  130. Have we reached the point in our society today, where we just

  131. reach up and mentally, turn off, anyone?

  132. Who preaches, something. Contrary to what we've always

  133. believed or taught and where we categorically reject anything

  134. that does not meet our approval. Well I certainly hope that is

  135. not the case and I don't believe it is with the great majority of

  136. people who are Members of the body of Christ.

  137. Again, we ask the question, does it really matter what God says?

  138. You know, we have to have authority in religion and when

  139. Jesus took those those little old cords and drove the money

  140. changers out of the temple, the scribes and Pharisees asked him

  141. this question by what Authority doest, thou these things.

  142. And Jesus told them, well, I'll tell you what my authority is,

  143. if you'll answer a question for me.

  144. He sent the baptism of John. Was it was it of heaven or of

  145. men? And they knew they were in a

  146. dilemma. They were no match for the Son

  147. of God, because they knew, if they, if they said, well, John's

  148. baptism was from Heaven. He's going to say, why didn't

  149. you receive it on the other hand?

  150. If they said, well, it was of men, then they had to deal with

  151. the people because all the people believe John was a

  152. prophet. So they said we can't tell.

  153. Yes, they knew that you had to have authority in religion and

  154. you know over there in God's book in the third chapter of

  155. Colossians he says whatsoever you do in word or deed do all in

  156. the name of the Lord. Jesus giving.

  157. Thanks to God and the father by him.

  158. Think about that folks. Everything we do in religion in

  159. word or deed has to be done in the name of the Lord, Jesus

  160. Christ. Now, what does that mean?

  161. And let me ask you this question.

  162. Suppose some night. The sheriff comes to your house.

  163. Pulls out his pistol and takes the butt of it and knocks on the

  164. door and said, open up in the name of the law.

  165. What does that mean? That means open up by the

  166. authority of the law, doesn't it?

  167. He has the authority to tell you to open that door and the same

  168. is true. When we do things in the name of

  169. the Lord, that means by his authority, we must have

  170. authority. In religion and God has given

  171. that authority to Christ to tell us what to do Christ.

  172. Gave it to the apostles to tell us what to do.

  173. They committed it to writing and we have it in our possession

  174. tonight. Does God really mean what he

  175. says? Well, I submit that it matters

  176. what God says. If you're interested in a

  177. productive happy life, I want you to look for a moment at Adam

  178. and Eve. Again this evening how

  179. beautiful, how Carefree how happy how fruitful?

  180. How productive must have been their lives?

  181. In the Garden of Eden? I want you to imagine for a

  182. moment. What it must have been like to

  183. live in a paradise of beauty and safety where there was no fear

  184. of anything. There was no disease, no death,

  185. no hazards, no hunger, no poverty.

  186. It knowing Zarate. No sorrow, no tears.

  187. The temperature was always perfect.

  188. The food must have been new and exciting.

  189. Every day. The company was superb because

  190. they lived in concert with their maker and Creator.

  191. And all was well until they listen to the voice of the

  192. tempter. And let me tell you, if you

  193. doubt that it matters what God says, let me remind you that in

  194. our society today are prisons and jails are full.

  195. Or did you know that there are over 1 million Americans in

  196. jail? Let me show your our hospitals

  197. and nursing homes that are bulging at the seams.

  198. Let me take you to the insane asylums that are full.

  199. Let me show you the cemeteries where the marble shafts shoot

  200. Skyward. Reminding us of the death of

  201. loved ones. Let me show you the wasted

  202. blasted lives of those hooked on drugs and alcohol.

  203. We have over 12 million known alcoholics in.

  204. Our society today, let me show you the images of millions of

  205. hungry babies and desperate men and women who can't feed them,

  206. who are literally starving to death.

  207. What's the reason for all of this Sadness and Sorrow?

  208. Every bit of it was caused by those who think that, it didn't

  209. really matter. What God says, sin got into the

  210. world as a consequence of Adam and Eve's transgression.

  211. And the result was all of this trouble that we see around us

  212. today. The Bible says, by one man sin

  213. entered into the world and death by sin and so death passed upon

  214. all men, that's in Romans 5, and verse 12, look at Kane.

  215. Came the son of Adam and Eve their firstborn was like some of

  216. our modern stood, a who feel like it what they want and what

  217. they think. Supersedes everything else you

  218. see. Cain felt that it didn't really

  219. matter. What God Said.

  220. Evidently God had given Specific Instructions about how they were

  221. to worship God. Somebody said, how do you know

  222. that while the Bible says in Hebrews 11 and forth?

  223. A table walk by faith, that by faith Abel offered unto God, a

  224. more excellent sacrifice than Cain.

  225. How did he get Faith? Why the Bible says in Romans 10

  226. and 17 that Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word

  227. of God? So, I have evidence there that

  228. Kane was instructed about what to do in the matter of worship.

  229. But instead of doing what God had said, evidently he got

  230. something else. And when God accepted able and

  231. his offering and rejected Cain and his offering Cain became

  232. jealous of his brother, this jealousy turned to Envy.

  233. Envy turn to anger, anger turned to murder.

  234. And he killed his brother in an envious jealous rage evidently

  235. shading the first human blood upon the face of the Earth and

  236. when God questioned him about it, it he replied in a very

  237. Cavalier fashion. Am I?

  238. My Brother's Keeper Kane, lost communion with God.

  239. He was driven away from the presence of the Lord.

  240. He became a vagabond in a fugitive in the earth and we

  241. hear him cry out in despair. My Punishment is greater than I

  242. can, bear Genesis 4 and verse 13.

  243. Oh I say if you're interested in living a happy productive life

  244. then it does matter what God says, in fact, nothing upon the

  245. face of this Earth is more important and more urgent than

  246. what God says. But it also matters if we're

  247. concerned about the future of our children and grandchildren

  248. Wouldn't be so bad. I guess to live just a wild

  249. Reckless life. If we were the only ones

  250. affected, But you know, there are others to consider and there

  251. are so many precious boys and girls today who would grow up to

  252. be moral spiritually minded Christians if their parents

  253. really believed that it mattered what God Said I submit that the

  254. real reason that that's not the case as their parents, do not

  255. believe it is necessary to set the right example before them

  256. and teach them the precepts of God.

  257. There are plenty of children today who can tell you the plot

  258. of the latest latest movie, but they couldn't describe the

  259. scheme of redemption that can tell you the names of all the

  260. actors and actresses in Hollywood, but they couldn't

  261. name the 12 apostles. If their lives depended upon it,

  262. they can quote baseball, and basketball and football

  263. statistics. But they couldn't name the books

  264. of the Bible and the reason maybe because their parents

  265. couldn't do that, either make No mistake about it, friends the

  266. battle for the minds. And The Souls of our children,

  267. is being fought and either won or lost in our homes.

  268. Our attitude toward What God Says.

  269. And our attention in our obedience to that is going to

  270. impact the lives of our children and grandchildren.

  271. Now I know that old Maxim. Spare the rod and spoil.

  272. The child is not in the Bible. That's one of those old Chimney

  273. Corner sayings but the the equivalent of that is found in

  274. the Bible when it says in Proverbs 22 and 6, train up a

  275. child in the way he should go and when he is old, he will not

  276. depart from it. Now training is a different word

  277. from teach. Beecher said, children are not

  278. so much to be taught, as to be trained to teach a child, is to

  279. give him ideas to train him, is to reduce those ideas to

  280. practice. Now, if you think that your

  281. example and your attitude toward What God Says does not affect

  282. your children and grandchildren, then you need to learn some of

  283. the vital lesson. Of the Bible's, I want you to

  284. look for a moment at David. David's a great man.

  285. He's describing the 13th chapter of acts as a man after God's Own

  286. Heart. David was passionately loyal to

  287. God. He's rightly regarded as a

  288. patriot, a resourceful executive, a wise administrator,

  289. but I want to tell you this, as a parent, David was an utter

  290. failure. His great career was without a

  291. blemish until he came. Aim to mature years in an idol

  292. and evil. Our he coveted the beautiful

  293. woman Bathsheba, who was uriah's wife He committed adultery with

  294. her and to cover his sin. He then plotted the murder of

  295. her husband and when he was confronted by God's Prophet old

  296. Nathan, He warned him that his attitude toward the word of God

  297. would soon bear, bitter fruit. And that the sword would never

  298. depart from his house and how true that was, what sorrow what

  299. heartbreak came to David through his children, one son, amnon

  300. raped, his own half sister, Tamar David's daughter and two

  301. years later. Another son, Absalom Tamar

  302. Tamers, brother plotted. The murder of Eminent and it was

  303. carried out by his servants. Now, Absalom was greatly loved

  304. by David because he was one of these dashing swashbuckling

  305. handsome, young men who had a way with people.

  306. Absalom War, elegant clothing. He had long.

  307. Well, groomed hair, and when he drove his big Chariot through

  308. the roads and streets, 50 men ran in front of him pretty soon,

  309. he began to covet the power and the kingdom of his father, David

  310. and provoked, a rebellion and David pleaded with his captain

  311. of his host. Joab to deal gently with the

  312. young man, for my sake, but joab.

  313. Ooh, that absalom's death was necessary if he would put down

  314. the rebellion. And when he was surrounded with

  315. 10 men, they shot those three, darts into the heart of Absalom.

  316. And it also penetrated the heart of King David.

  317. And one of the saddest scenes of the Bible, joab, dispatched, a

  318. kushite to go with the message of absalom's death, but a godly

  319. man named a him. I has wanted to go and David

  320. Made it well ahem, I is outran, the other man.

  321. And as soon as he entered the gate, David had a question on

  322. his lips and you know, that question was not, did we win?

  323. What were our casualties? How did the battle go?

  324. Oh no, it was his the young man, Absalom safe.

  325. Him. I is love the king so deeply

  326. that he couldn't even answer the question and about that time,

  327. the kushite messenger ran up and David ask again, is the young

  328. man, Absalom safe and the kushite replied, the enemies of

  329. my Lord and King, and all that Rise Against Lee to do the hurt.

  330. Be as that young man is and David perceived the answer,

  331. David's cries. He went to the wall above the

  332. gate, to his chamber. Echoes down through the

  333. corridors of time. All Absalom Absalom, my son, my

  334. son Absalom would. I died for thee?

  335. Oh Absalom, my son. My son.

  336. Never forget, friends. That it does matter what God

  337. says. Let me tell you that your

  338. attitude your example toward What God Says is the strongest

  339. influence at times in the life of your children, what a parent

  340. is always more important than what he says, but then I submit

  341. it really matters what God say is if we're concerned about the

  342. consequences of sin, It seems to me that many people both in the

  343. church and out of the church have accepted, the teaching of

  344. universalism that everybody is ultimately going to be saved.

  345. In fact, many people have no patience at all with the

  346. preacher who tells of the fate of Sinners, many want little or

  347. nothing said from our pulpits. About the Doom of unregenerate.

  348. Sinners reminds me of people's attitude toward the dangers of

  349. smoking. Poking few years ago on The

  350. Tonight Show, we're told Johnny Carson was talking about deep

  351. sea diving, and interviewing a deep-sea diver.

  352. And the man demonstrated with a film was showing an underwater

  353. gun whereby. He could defend himself against

  354. sharks. And in this film clip, he shot

  355. this, this gun and immediately it killed the shark instantly.

  356. And Carson said, wow, what was in that shot?

  357. And the divers answer was bleeped out.

  358. Because they had a cigarette sponsor for the program later,

  359. it was revealed to be nicotine. You see the sponsors did not

  360. want the audience to know the consequences of cigarette

  361. smoking? And many people are like that

  362. about seein? They don't want people to know

  363. and they don't want to know about the consequences of sin.

  364. Did you know that many people want to believe that everybody

  365. will ultimately be saved regardless of their Virtual

  366. condition yes, no matter that there was no faith or obedience,

  367. people are judged to be saved. No matter how careless, how

  368. indifferent how disobedient one may have been.

  369. He's judged to be saved. Little girl, went to the

  370. cemetery with her father. One time they were walking

  371. around looking at the headstones, loved one in heaven

  372. asleep, in Jesus. And all of those wonderful

  373. sayings, the little girl. Remote where the bad people were

  374. buried. It makes you wonder, doesn't it?

  375. Well, according to them, it's practically impossible for

  376. anybody to be lost and people have told me, well, you know,

  377. I'm not a bad person, I'm no worse than anybody else.

  378. And, of course, that may be true.

  379. But I'd like to remind you, that the rich man, of Luke 16 was

  380. lost, wasn't he? Yes, the Bible says, and in

  381. hell, he lift up his eyes. Sighs being in torments, Luke 16

  382. and verse 23. Remember this was after death

  383. and before the Judgment, because you remember what that rich man

  384. said, he said I have five Brethren living, they were still

  385. alive. This was before the final

  386. judgment, this was after death. So in the light of this passage

  387. alone, the theory of universalism is false Many other

  388. Bible passages support The View. That the doctrine of universal

  389. salvation is false. Look at Romans 3, and verse 23,

  390. where Paul said, for all have sinned and come short of the

  391. glory of God, what happens to those who are guilty of sin,

  392. Romans, 6, and 23 said, for the wages of sin is death.

  393. But the gift of God, is eternal life through.

  394. Jesus Christ, Our Lord, if you serve Satan, all of your days,

  395. if you give him the strength of your youth, And you give your

  396. years to him and you never obey the gospel.

  397. Listen, he's going to pay you your wages what you've earned

  398. and what is it that he's going to give you White's death

  399. separation from all that's holy separation from all that's good

  400. and glorious. You know, the death that's

  401. completed here, is not separation of the spirit from

  402. the body. It's the separation of the soul

  403. from God. It's that Eternal casting away

  404. from God's presence because he says, on the other hand, the

  405. gift of God is eternal life. So he's talking about eternal

  406. death and eternal life. Again, Ezekiel 18 and 20.

  407. It says the soul that sinneth, it shall die.

  408. The son shall not bear. The iniquity of the father.

  409. Neither shall the father bear, the iniquity of the son, the

  410. righteousness of the righteous, shall be upon him.

  411. And the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him and Daniel 12.

  412. And to the prophet said, many of them that sleep in the dust of

  413. the Earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to

  414. shame and everlasting contempt. Again, in Matthew 7, and verse

  415. 13. Jesus said, enter ye in at the

  416. strait gate for wide is the gate and Broad is the way which

  417. leadeth the destruction and many there be which go in thereat

  418. because Strait is the gate and narrow is the way which leadeth

  419. unto life and few there. Be that find it again in John,

  420. the 5th chapter and verse 28. Jesus said Marvel, not at this

  421. for the hour is coming in the which all that are in the

  422. graves. Shall hear his voice and shall

  423. come forth. They that have done good unto

  424. the resurrection of life and they have done evil unto, the

  425. resurrection of damnation in Matthew. 25 and verse 46.

  426. Jesus spoke of those on the left hand and he said, these shall go

  427. away into Everlasting punishment, but the righteous

  428. into life, eternal. Oh, and then I meet others who

  429. have evidently accepted the doctrine of once saved always

  430. saved. They really believe that because

  431. one time they confess the name of Christ and were baptized,

  432. they shall be eternally saved. You know, I've talking with many

  433. broken hearted mothers who cling to that fragile hope that

  434. because their child, their loved one was baptized one time that

  435. they are eternally saved. But I would remind you friends

  436. that the rich man of Luke, 16 called Abraham father.

  437. And Abraham referred to him as son.

  438. Now, that means that he was a descendant of Abraham.

  439. One who had been born into God's covenant during the Mosaic.

  440. Dispensation he was a covenanted person.

  441. So we have an example of a covenanted person who died and

  442. lost his soul. Look, also again at another

  443. passage. This is the parable of the

  444. fishing, net in Matthew, 13 and verse 47.

  445. I wear the Savior say it again. The Kingdom of Heaven is like

  446. unto a net that was cast into the sea and gathered of every

  447. kind, which when it was full, they drew to Shore and sat down

  448. and gathered the good into vessels but cast the bad away.

  449. So shall it? Be at the end of the world, the

  450. Angels shall come forth and sever the wicked from among the

  451. just and shall cast them into the furnace of fire and there

  452. shall be wailing. And gnashing of teeth from the

  453. kingdom of heaven. The angel look divided, some and

  454. cast them into the furnace of fire.

  455. Now, think about this. The only way to get in this

  456. kingdom is how by the new birth, isn't it?

  457. Because Jesus said in John 3 and 5 except a man be born of water

  458. and of the spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

  459. So from these conclusions, it's obvious that some who have been

  460. born again who have entered into the kingdom have become Wicked

  461. and we'll finally be cast into the furnace of fire in writing

  462. to the children of God, who were dangerously close to losing

  463. their souls and inspired Penman Road.

  464. Wrote in Hebrews 10 and verse 35, cast, not away.

  465. Therefore your confidence, which has great recompense of reward

  466. for. You have need of patience that

  467. after you have done the will of God you might receive the

  468. promise again and Hebrews 4 and verse 1.

  469. He said, let us therefore fear, lest a promise being left us of

  470. entering into his rest. Any of you should seem to come

  471. short of it again and Hebrews 3 and verse 12, we hear the same

  472. writer saying Take heed Brethren lest there, be in any of you, an

  473. evil heart of unbelief in departing from the Living.

  474. God, now there's no doubt in my mind that God is merciful

  475. compassionate, and loving the Bible pictures him as this kind

  476. of God, after all God gave us, Jesus didn't he?

  477. He gave us the church, the Bible, all All spiritual

  478. necessities of life but that same Bible that says God is love

  479. first. John four and eight also

  480. declares in Hebrews 12 and verse 29.

  481. That our God is a consuming fire.

  482. Remember how God has dealt with sinners in the past.

  483. He turned Lot's wife into a pillar of salt, he consumed

  484. nadab and abihu with fire. He burned, Sodom and Gomorrah

  485. from the face of the Earth, he destroyed the An Army in the

  486. midst of the Red Sea, and he killed hundred and eighty-five

  487. thousand of snow crabs troops in one night.

  488. He drowned, every person living in Noah's day except those eight

  489. Souls who were in The Ark. The Bible tells us of the fate

  490. of Judas, who betrayed our Lord. It says, he by transgression

  491. fell that he might go to his own place acts 1 and verse 25.

  492. What was that? That place.

  493. Well, Jesus said of the of the Apostles none of these is lost,

  494. save the Son of Perdition. So we know what that place was

  495. does. It matter what God says?

  496. Well it certainly does if you're concerned about the consequences

  497. of sin and although Jesus loved the whole world so much that he

  498. gave himself for it. Jesus was called the Friend of

  499. Sinners and yet the strongest word Ever to fall from human

  500. lips were spoken about the punishment for sin by Jesus the

  501. word for hell, which describes the Lake of Fire.

  502. Eternal punishment is the word. Gehenna, that's found 12 times

  503. in the New Testament. Did you know that 11 of those 12

  504. times? It was the Gentle Savior From

  505. Galilee who use that word. It's a contradiction and thought

  506. to say that you believe in a person and yet you don't believe

  507. what he says. And so if you really trust the

  508. master, you'll receive all of his teaching rather than

  509. accepting only what you want and rejecting the rest.

  510. But then I want to mention, lastly, tonight, That it

  511. matters. If we intend to make Heaven our

  512. Eternal home Maybe it wouldn't be so tragic to ignore the

  513. message of God. If death were the end of it all,

  514. as many people believe. There are some materialist to

  515. think, when a man dies that ends it all.

  516. And that's certainly a gloomy opinion.

  517. But if the rich man were here tonight, he could say, well, I

  518. died. All right, but I had an

  519. existence in the spirit world. Don't believe those who tell

  520. you, otherwise, It is Saint that Alexander Campbell. and, His

  521. Nemesis that he debated about whether or not. the Bible is

  522. true and whether or not Christianity is true, were

  523. discussing one time in a meeting after that famous debate over

  524. God's Little acre where all of his loved ones were buried and

  525. this man remarked he said, you know, I have no fear of death.

  526. I have no fear of death or of punishment and Alexander

  527. Campbell said, well, do you have any hope and death?

  528. He said, oh no, I have no hope and death.

  529. He said, well, look out you under it, that Ops feeding out.

  530. Younger says, you're in the same condition.

  531. He has no fear of death and yet he has no hope of in death.

  532. Well, a person should realize the consequences of living in

  533. sin because man is more than simply animal life.

  534. The Apostle Paul said in second, Corinthians 4 and 16, though?

  535. Our outward, man, perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by

  536. day. Now that Spirit are the inward

  537. Man. Simply lives in this body.

  538. It's called a tabernacle by the Apostle.

  539. Paul in second Corinthians five. If and, when a person dies,

  540. there's a separation of the two in recording, When Rachel died

  541. in childbirth, here's what Moses wrote in Genesis, 35 and 18.

  542. He said it came to pass. As her soul was departing for.

  543. She died that she called his name benoni.

  544. But his father called him Benjamin note.

  545. The clarity of language. They're a departure of her soul

  546. from her body is called Death Solomon said that when one dies,

  547. the spirit returns to God, who gave it in?

  548. Other words to his disposal to do with it, as he sees, fit

  549. Ecclesiastes, 12 and 7, and James made it very clear when he

  550. said in James 2 and 26, that the body without the spirit is dead,

  551. To overthrow the materialistic a nihilist, you nice view of the

  552. Sadducees who didn't believe in Angel.

  553. They didn't believe in a resurrection.

  554. They didn't believe in a life after death.

  555. They're sort of like our modern Jehovah Witnesses in that

  556. respect. But Jesus, quoted the language

  557. that God used to describe himself to Moses.

  558. And although it had been hundreds of years since Abraham,

  559. Isaac, and Jacob had lived Jesus.

  560. Quoted God. As saying, I am the god of

  561. Abraham and the god of Jacob, and the god of Isaac.

  562. He didn't say, I was the god of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, or I

  563. used to be the god of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, or I will be

  564. the god of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

  565. He said, I am in other words, in some sense, those great

  566. Patriarchs were still living as far.

  567. His God was concerned and Jesus. Then added God is not the god of

  568. the dead, but of the living, you know, I've asked the witnesses

  569. many times to complete this syllogism.

  570. God is the god of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, God is not the

  571. god of the lip of the dead, but of the living there, for what

  572. Well, that conclusion necessarily is, there is a sense

  573. in which Abraham Isaac and Jacob still live.

  574. Luke 20 and verse 38 record. Jesus is saying for all live

  575. unto him, that means there's an afterlife That means that

  576. there's something beyond the grave.

  577. It's not all of life to live if prepared and it's not all of

  578. death to die if unprepared either.

  579. You and I are going to be in a place of waste and loss.

  580. Where hope is a stranger where no gospel ray of light has ever

  581. penetrated, or we are going to be in the presence of God

  582. Christ, the Holy Spirit, the angels and the redeem spirits of

  583. just men made perfect because heaven is a prepared place for a

  584. prepared people. I've heard people say, oh, you

  585. know, if I'm lucky to get to heaven, if I'm lucky enough to

  586. get to heaven, I don't care if I just live a little cabin out

  587. here in the corner somewhere. Well, let me tell you something,

  588. folks. If you go to heaven, it will it

  589. be? Because you were lucky, it won't

  590. be because Dame Fortune Smiled On you it won't be as some

  591. people count it. When they win the lottery, that

  592. your lucky number is come up, it won't be because you've won and

  593. some kind of a Celestial dice roll.

  594. It will be because you have heeded, the words of almighty

  595. God, it will be because you have done what the Apostle Peter

  596. said. Ed and that's given diligence to

  597. make your calling and election. Sure.

  598. I'm through tonight, I may be speaking to someone who's never

  599. obeyed, the gospel and never tendered obedience to the

  600. commands of God. Let me tell you very clearly and

  601. plainly. As I know how what God has

  602. commanded you to do. You know, Jesus said not every

  603. one that saith unto me Lord. Lord shall enter the kingdom of

  604. heaven, but he that, doeth, the will of My Father, which is in

  605. heaven, you know, if I Never bring people to ask the

  606. question. What is God's will for me?

  607. I can tell them quite plainly. Jesus said, this is the will of

  608. God that you believe on him that I sent me.

  609. We must believe in Jesus. We have to have faith in him and

  610. without faith. It's impossible to please God.

  611. Again, we must repent of sins. Jesus says, unless you repent,

  612. you except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

  613. We Have to acknowledge Christ. Matthew 10:32.

    Matthew 10:32

  614. We have to be buried with the Lord in baptism and Jesus said

  615. that when you do that, you will be saved from your sins.

  616. What happens to save people? While the Bible says in Acts

    Acts 2:47

  617. 2:47, that the Lord adds the save to the church, that means

  618. your name is written in heaven and recorded in glory.
