First of all, once again, it's my great pleasure
-
to come here and spend this bright Monday with
-
you all, and this very interesting time of the
-
year. The apostles didn't know quite what to
-
do when Christ had risen from the dead. They
-
gathered in the room, then he appeared to them
-
and left, and they didn't quite know what to
-
do. And liturgically, we don't really know what
-
to do half the time. It's all new. But it's interesting,
-
in the Gospels, when Christ appears, you know,
-
People don't recognize him right away. And then
-
he reveals himself to them and he disappears.
-
And how does he reveal himself? It's very interesting
-
as we go through these Sundays of the time after
-
Pascha. How is he revealed? He's revealed in
-
the breaking of bread and opening the scriptures
-
to the disciples. This is exactly what happens
-
to us in the church. Christ reveals himself to
-
us in the breaking of bread and the opening of
-
the scriptures. I bless you all in this glorious
-
time and hope that you will have a bright and
-
glorious gospel period. Amen. Christ is risen.
-
Indeed.
