  1. My wife and I are real happy to be here with you folks today and

  2. heard a very edifying lesson this morning and I'm thankful to

  3. have this opportunity to speak with you folks this evening.

  4. We will be studying the subject of some things, we know. and

  5. this will, Basically be using scriptures that have the word no

  6. in them. But just to bring this subject

  7. to our minds with a quotation. We all refer to John the 8th

  8. chapter and verse 32. and there Jesus said, And ye shall know

  9. the truth and the truth shall make you free.

  10. Before we go, further in our study, we want to Humble

  11. ourselves together while we pray together.

  12. We have this great privilege and incidentally concerning

  13. concerning the lesson tonight folks.

  14. As we pray, we can know that God hears us that listens to our

  15. prayer. Let us party.

  16. What we want to do. This evening is simply take some

  17. scriptures that have this word. No in them.

  18. Now on the subject we just preach here, all night about

  19. different scriptures that would infer and teach what we are to

  20. know and what we can do with what we know and so forth.

  21. This is the basic lesson in the Bible.

  22. But it has to do with our faith. Now, I remember when I was just

  23. a young boy, hearing some brother and say we we hope that

  24. we have eternal life, but we cannot know that were saved or

  25. that were a child of God. Because we haven't, we haven't

  26. seen it yet. We know things that we have seen

  27. but things that we simply have faith in them.

  28. In other words, they were separating the meaning of the

  29. word faith from that of knowledge or no.

  30. Well folks that go together as far as a Christian is concerned.

  31. And so will notice this these scriptures concerning these

  32. things and show how how that we can know.

  33. That were saved. And how that we can trusting in

  34. God in this respect, serve him and had confidence and peace of

  35. mind. now in first grade, First Corinthians 8 and verses 1

  36. through 2 The Apostle Paul said now, as touching things offered

  37. to Idols, we know that we all have knowledge knowledge puffeth

  38. up, but charity edifieth. Now this would be of course the

  39. the existence of knowledge without love and and that that

  40. too is bad. You see when you get pride and

  41. become exalt yourself because you know something that's not

  42. right and so he shows the tendency of knowledge Knowledge

  43. puffeth up. But charity has five.

  44. And if any man think that he knows anything.

  45. But notice this, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know

  46. In other words, if you know something there's no need, you

  47. bragging about it? Know, if you do know what it's

  48. something you ought to know and so the scripture teaches a

  49. lesson of humility there in having knowledge.

  50. Well what is one of the things that we that we can know that we

  51. do know, all right. John 8 and verse 32 and their

  52. the scripture says and he shall know the truth and the truth

  53. shall make you free. I'm just getting older but I'll

  54. just write that word up there. You can know the truth.

  55. You see? And and and the scripture says,

  56. and the truth shall make you free.

  57. All right, let's go to some other scriptures about this

  58. subject for this part of our lesson, John 17 and 17.

  59. And they're Jesus. Praying to his father said

  60. sanctify them, through thy truth.

  61. Thy word is truth. All right.

  62. You shall know the truth. Alright.

  63. We're Sanctified by the truth or through the truth again.

  64. Hebrews 6 and 18. Now in Hebrews 6 and 18 is

  65. talking about God and making his promises concerning the Seed of

  66. Abraham to Abraham and and at the promises that we have in

  67. Christ and he says that by two immutable things.

  68. In which it was impossible for God to lie.

  69. We might have a strong consolation who have fled for

  70. Refuge lay hold upon the Hope set before us.

  71. Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul and so forth.

  72. We're going to will come back to this verse of scripture here.

  73. But notice here that this is God's war and that by two

  74. immutable things that's in. That's the fact that God did

  75. swear and and the fact also that it was impossible for God to

  76. lie. Both of those things even though

  77. it was impossible for God to lie, God's war and gave the

  78. promise. Now then we might have a strong

  79. consolation who have fled for Refuge to lay hold upon the Hope

  80. set before us. So Is he?

  81. God cannot lie. If we know something, God said,

  82. we know it to be true. Because, God tells don't lives.

  83. Alright, again, Mark 12 and verse 24 to 25.

  84. Here was a case whether the Sadducees in the came to Jesus

  85. tempting him. And they they were putting a

  86. story before they were. Didn't believe in the

  87. resurrection? Jesus have been talking about

  88. the resurrection. And they brought up a case where

  89. a woman had been married, 27 men.

  90. Now, scripturally that each died, she married this one, he

  91. died and so forth. And she had seven husbands

  92. during her life and they asked Jesus said, now in the

  93. resurrection whose husbands going to be hers, which one's

  94. going to be your husband, you see?

  95. alright now notice what Jesus said in mark this is Mark 12 and

  96. 24 and Jesus answering said unto them, do ye not therefore do ye

  97. not therefore are Because ye know not the scriptures.

  98. Neither the power of God. Alright, now we we've already

  99. read, you should know the truth. Well, we find out that the word

  100. of God is the truth. And they erred in judgment

  101. because they knew not the scriptures.

  102. You see what you can do, you can you can own your own judgment.

  103. You can make decisions you can make.

  104. And it's all right, and different things in different

  105. ways. But when it comes to serving

  106. God, we must know the truth. And these here didn't understand

  107. the truth. And and therefore, that's the

  108. reason why they made that argument about whose husband,

  109. shall they be? Well, Jesus went ahead and

  110. explained to them that In Heaven.

  111. There is neither male, nor female.

  112. And that all in that sense, our he see that the woman will not

  113. have a husband in eternity. That's what they were asking.

  114. Okay. Now then in the case concerning

  115. Nicodemus, The same came to Jesus by night and said unto

  116. him. Rabbi we know that thou art a

  117. teacher come from God. Now, notice, how Nicodemus was

  118. so convinced, He said Jesus. I know that you're a man from

  119. God. A teacher from God for no man,

  120. can do these Miracles, that thou doest, except God be with him.

  121. Now, he knew because God, Jesus had been performing Miracles

  122. that he was from God. well, you know when it came down to it

  123. when Jesus began to teach him concerning in the in the fifth

  124. verse except a man be born of water and the spirit, you know

  125. he said well how can this be He didn't understand and somebody

  126. else, he didn't believe Jesus. Well, now, then Jesus told him

  127. in John, the third chapter verse 11 to 13, Verily verily.

  128. I say unto thee. We speak that, we do know.

  129. Now he's already, he's already made the exclamation that Jesus

  130. we know you're from God. Alright, Jesus tell him.

  131. Listen, what I say? Oh I know what I'm talking

  132. about. We speak that we do.

  133. Go and testify that we have seen and you receive not our Witness

  134. I have told you of you Earthly things and ye believe not how

  135. shall ye believe. If I tell you Heavenly things

  136. and no man hath ascended up to heaven but he that came down

  137. from heaven. Even the son of man which is in

  138. heaven. Well you see there Nicodemus,

  139. Lee one exclamation that we know you from God.

  140. And then when Jesus began to teach, he didn't believe it.

  141. He didn't believe that teaching. You see?

  142. And and and so it is you see for our for our faith, or our

  143. beliefs, can contradict And instead of saying God Jesus you

  144. know what you're talking about and God knows what he's talking

  145. about. And so Nicodemus for the

  146. understood or not should have believed because he knew that

  147. Jesus was from God. No.

  148. Jesus said in John 12, And versus 48 to 50.

  149. He that rejecteth me and receiveth not my words has won

  150. the judges him, the word that I have spoken.

  151. The same shall judge him in the last day.

  152. For I have spoken of myself. Pardon me for, I have not spoken

  153. of myself but the Father which sent me.

  154. He gave me a commandment. What I should say, and what I

  155. should speak, and I know that his commandment is life

  156. Everlasting. Now, this is Jesus speaking.

  157. God commanded, Jesus? What to say?

  158. Well, he ship on this Earth. Jesus said nothing on his own.

  159. And so he and he said it and I know that his commandment is

  160. life Everlasting. Now I know that God's

  161. commandment is Everlasting whatsoever.

  162. I speak therefore even of the father said unto me so I speak.

  163. and so you see these things where we we have the term we

  164. know Jesus said, I know that his commandment is life and we know

  165. that too because Jesus taught us that it was now concerning Jesus

  166. again in John, 21 and 24. The Apostle Paul, the Apostle

  167. John, is he ends his epistle. He says, in the last chapter

  168. there, this is the disciple which testified of these things

  169. and wrote these things. And we know that his testimony

  170. is true. We know that You know, there in

  171. John, I'll turn read that. The last verses there concerning

  172. Now, this is John 21. And we'll read versus 30. 30 and

  173. 31. Just a moment, please.

  174. I have my scripture mistaken here.

  175. It's right here in this chapter. I know, but the Apostle Peter,

  176. the Apostle John said that many other signs, truly did Jesus

  177. which are not written in this book. but these are written that

  178. you might believe, And so it is that these things written in in

  179. his book are written so that we might believe and know that they

  180. are the truth. Now let us notice that we are to

  181. keep his word first John 2 and 5.

  182. But whoso keepeth his word in him verily is the love of God,

  183. perfected here, by hereby know we that we are in him.

  184. All right. Now, how do we know we're in

  185. him? Because we have kept his word

  186. and so we can know that we are in Christ.

  187. All right. Again first, John 5 and 13.

  188. These things have. I written unto you that believe

  189. on the name of the son of God, That you may know that you have

  190. eternal life and that ye may believe on the name of the son

  191. of God. All right.

  192. You know, I meet you at the first part of the lesson that I

  193. used to hear Brother years ago saying, I think many of them

  194. know, no better now, but you cannot know that you're saved.

  195. You cannot know that you have eternal life.

  196. You can only have faith that you have eternal life.

  197. Well, they go together as we notice here and But contrary to

  198. that, you see the scripture does teach.

  199. Now notice how we, how we can decide on this.

  200. These things have, I written unto you.

  201. All right, here it is. It's been written to us and

  202. John. And the scripture says here,

  203. these things have. I written unto you that believe,

  204. on the name of the son of God. This is the Apostle John

  205. speaking. That ye may know that you have

  206. eternal life and that ye may believe all the name of the son

  207. of God. So he these things are written

  208. so that we can know if we follow according to the teaching here

  209. on that, we have eternal life. That is no resection.

  210. Corinthians 5 and 10. For, we know that if this

  211. Earthly House of art, a black were dissolved.

  212. We have a building God and house, not made with hands

  213. Eternal in the heavens. Now, what is this?

  214. We got to guess at it. We think probably it says for we

  215. know that if the Earthly House of this Tabernacle were

  216. dissolved We have a building of God and house not made with

  217. hands Eternal in the heavens. We know that.

  218. In other words that this body decays and go back to the dirt

  219. of the dust and we know that we have an eternal home in heaven.

  220. Now. Something else that we know 1st,

  221. Peter 1 and 18 to 19. What will be what renamed us.

  222. The scripture here says forasmuch as ye know that ye

  223. were not redeemed with corruptible things as silver and

  224. gold from your vain conversation received by tradition of your

  225. father's, but by the precious blood of Christ as of a lamb

  226. without blemish, and without spot.

  227. All right, now this is something we know we're not Redeemed by

  228. profitable things. But by what, by the by the

  229. precious blood of Christ, Christ as of a lamb.

  230. And he was his blood was shed for our Redemption and for our

  231. salvation, Thus the Apostle Paul writing to Timothy says in first

  232. in the first chapter, in second Timothy.

  233. And the work 12, 12 verse 4 the which cause I also suffer these

  234. things. Lev unless I'm not ashamed.

  235. For I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that he is able

  236. to keep that which I've committed unto him against that

  237. day. Well, we know we can read in the

  238. book of Acts and in the letters to the Corinthians brother and

  239. so forth and 2, Timothy many of the trials that that Paul in

  240. yours and even in the end, he was put to death for his

  241. preaching of the Gospel. But what?

  242. But the point was in all this, he says, I know whom I have

  243. believed And every second and a persuaded that he is able to

  244. keep that which I've committed unto him.

  245. Against that day, meaning against the day of judgment, he

  246. knew he trusted in God almighty. Well, something else we can

  247. know. Let's read, Romans, 8, and verse

  248. 28. And there the Apostle Paul

  249. writing to the church at Rome said, and we know that all

  250. things work together for good to them that love God.

  251. To them who are the called, according to his purpose.

  252. All right, we know this all things work together for good.

  253. To them to love God. Now that doesn't mean that

  254. everything that that two situations we have been here are

  255. Pleasant and they might be things that are hindrance in

  256. some respect or another. But the point is, if we love

  257. God, you know, love this this this word right here to know

  258. Going along with love. Trust.

  259. These things if you know it, folks, and, you know what's

  260. right trust in God, do it. And whatever the result might

  261. be, you might be persecuted for. He might be persecuted in doing

  262. the right thing, but listen, all things work together for good.

  263. To them that love God. We know that that's something

  264. that we know. And so we believe it.

  265. Now. We know also that we will be

  266. like him in the in the, in the life to come in.

  267. First, John, three. And to their the scripture says

  268. beloved. Now, are we, the sons of God and

  269. it doth not yet appear. What we shall be?

  270. Now, he see as a preacher and we that each here, we don't get up

  271. here and try to tell you what kind of a body you're going to

  272. have. In the Life to Come.

  273. There's some things we know about it but yet we don't know

  274. an absolute sense and so he says it does not yet appear.

  275. What we shall be but we do know. That will be like him.

  276. For we shall see him as he is. And we know that. and that's

  277. something live for it and something to trust him and

  278. something to give our lives and and service to him, Now

  279. sometimes, you know, labor, you get tired, you can talk about

  280. physical job. I worked on a job one time down

  281. in Louisiana and I mean, it was hot and I just about sunstroke

  282. because and I just like lost every bit of strength by

  283. hanging. Well that can happen.

  284. Only job in situations where you're working over doing what

  285. your physical body will. Allow you to do, there is

  286. sometimes it makes you sick. These things happen.

  287. But the same. That is not true.

  288. Concerning the spiritual man. Now. the scripture says, 1st

  289. Corinthians 15:58. Therefore, my beloved Brethren

  290. be ye steadfast unmovable always abounding in the work of the

  291. Lord forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not in vain.

  292. In the Lord. You can trust you net, you don't

  293. become weary, you don't drop, we got come over, come because you

  294. know, if you're serving the lord you know, that's not in vain.

  295. But it will be, it will give you a great reward.

  296. Now, as you bring this lesson to a close, we've noticed several

  297. things that we are to know the truth and that we are to trust

  298. in the teaching of the scriptures and realize that we

  299. should realize that the word of God, the Bible is the word of

  300. God. And that it is true.

  301. And we know it's truth and and listen, if God said it is true.

  302. It's right. We know that we, we absolute on

  303. our knowledge of the teaching of the Bible.

  304. We know the promises of God are true, and the promises are based

  305. Upon God's power upon God who he is.

  306. And and his word teaching us concerning, the hope that we

  307. have in the life to come. I'd like to turn to Hebrews 6

  308. hours to bring this lesson to a close.

  309. And their will read. Concerning the promise that God

  310. has made us and, and concerning these things, which have to do

  311. with what the things after this life will begin reading with

  312. verse 13 here and Hebrews 6. for when God made promise to

  313. Abraham, Because he could swear by no greater, he swear by

  314. himself. Saying surely blessing, I Will

  315. Bless thee and multiplying I will multiply thee.

  316. And so after he had patiently, endured he obtained the promise.

  317. Now, this had to do with Abraham.

  318. And he was promised that it's in your seed, all the nations of

  319. the world was blessed. And so we understand that God

  320. made the promise to Abraham that through here.

  321. See And that we understand to be Jesus.

  322. With the promise of salvation, for all men come to pass.

  323. But all the nations of the earth, be blessed.

  324. Now this was the promise made to him.

  325. And he said in this promised saying surely blessing, I Will

  326. Bless thee and multiplying I will multiply thee.

  327. He made a nation out of the Seed of Abraham and that of Isaac and

  328. Jacob and so after he had patiently endured he obtained

  329. the promise. For been very swear by the

  330. greater and a nose for confirmation is to them.

  331. And in the ball surprise, we're in God willing more abundantly

  332. to show unto The Heirs of the promise, the immutability of his

  333. counsel confirmed, it by an oath.

  334. You see when God when God made this promise to Abraham, he many

  335. notes. Now in the first place, God

  336. can't lie. You see?

  337. But God went beyond that. And confirmed.

  338. What a the promise he made to Abraham with an oath, he swore.

  339. By himself. That the Messiah would come

  340. through his seed. He see and he confirmed it by an

  341. oath. Why did he do this?

  342. Alright notice Verse 18. That by two immutable things.

  343. Immutable means undisputable unquestionable.

  344. By these two, immutable things in which it was impossible for

  345. him to lie. Now, you see in the first place,

  346. God, don't tell lies. In the second place, God gave

  347. the promise to him through an oath.

  348. Even though it's impossible for God to lie.

  349. And this is true this says which hope we have as an anchor of.

  350. Well that by two immutable things Verse 18 in which it was

  351. impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation

  352. Who have fled for Refuge to lay? Hold upon the Hope set before

  353. us. Now, the Hope set before us is

  354. eternal life. To live.

  355. Not in the flesh, but in heaven not upon this Earth materially,

  356. but with god, with another body, in a mortal body to be with God,

  357. and with Christ to live in peace and happiness, forever and

  358. forever. This is, this is what this

  359. promise is all about. And the promise was made, God

  360. gave it oath. So your faith and my faith can

  361. be so strong. There's no question about it.

  362. God was willing to confirm it by a nose even though he couldn't

  363. lie. Which hope we have as an anchor

  364. of the Soul, both sure. And steadfast and which enters

  365. into that within the veil was the Forerunner is for us

  366. entered, even Jesus made it high priest Forever After the order

  367. of Melchizedek. Folks, we can now this subject

  368. must be taken with humility. Not being proud.

  369. Uh not not thinking well look what I can do, that's not that's

  370. not the point. But you know, it's our faith

  371. folks. in God, and in serving God, and even our faith in

  372. recognizing when we sing but the thing is, we recognize that God

  373. loves us and God will forgive If we repent, we realize this,

  374. there's no question about it. And there is that salvation.

  375. Of living forever and forever in heaven, Eternal, peace and joy.

  376. No pain, no sorrow. And the Bible says, God shall

  377. wipe away all tears from their eyes.

  378. I believe that God is a person. Now he is not limited to a

  379. certain place, as such he can be anywhere anytime and some of

  380. these things, we might not be able to comprehend.

  381. And also Moses is told that he couldn't see his face.

  382. His face was there. But Moses were not allowed to

  383. look at it. He was look, he is able to look

  384. at God's hinder parts. Well, thing is folks, when we go

  385. to heaven, we're going to be able to come before the Throne

  386. of God. We will see his face by the

  387. sixth. And he will wipe away all tears

  388. from our eyes. We know this.

  389. We know this is true. We know this promise is true.

  390. It is, if we humble ourselves search the scriptures and folks,

  391. anybody can know the truth that brought that thought were

  392. brought out this morning. It's not hard to understand

  393. Faith, repentance confession and baptized were baptized into

  394. Christ, and of all the work people go through, trying to

  395. say. Don't mean that?

  396. Well, we baptized for the remission of our sins, and on

  397. the day of Pentecost, they were told to repent and be baptized

  398. every one of you for the Mets. Sins and you shall receive the

  399. gift of the Holy Ghost. All right.

  400. Now then we can do that. And then we can obey the gospel

  401. become a child of God. Now boy, when you do that, you

  402. don't have to wonder. Well, the God forgives you.

  403. You can know the done. But then you must realize,

  404. folks, listen. Now listen, we don't know what

  405. we will do tomorrow. That's one reason why we have to

  406. fear God. I don't have to as a Christian.

  407. I don't have to be afraid to die now.

  408. But if a creek, but as a Christian, I've got to be afraid

  409. about what I might do tomorrow. See if I leave, let's say this

  410. platform right here is salvation.

  411. And as long as I stand up here, I'm up on the front.

  412. I'm saying. Why - your wife?

  413. Why are we supposed to fear God, if you're saying Because I can

  414. step off of this platform. And that's what I got to be

  415. afraid of. That's reason why the Bible

  416. teaches his people to fear Him. Even though we're saying it

  417. doesn't mean we can't leave him, that doesn't mean we can't force

  418. a chemo, quit living the Christian Life and go to hell,

  419. you see. But we know that he will keep

  420. his promises. So you see what we've got to do

  421. is be afraid of what we might do.

  422. Yes. Fear.

  423. God, keep his Commandments. Let's be afraid of ourselves in

  424. our strength and our determination and place that we

  425. can, we can arrange our thinking.

  426. So that we understand God's will.

  427. We know what he demands of us and we can serve him and trust

  428. him and know we're saying. But Let's be careful.

  429. Lest we fall as the Bible warns us and so it is that you can oh

  430. Today that your child have gone. Now, if you're not you need to

  431. become, you need to come back. If you're if a child of God,

  432. will you left the church? And you left doing what's right?

  433. And you have sins that are not forgiven.

  434. We may give you to make things right with God.

  435. Now the question is the thing is if you repent You can know that.

  436. God loves you and God will forgive you.

  437. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us

  438. our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
