  1. It's a pleasure and a privilege to be here.

  2. And to be with you today to see many familiar faces.

  3. Those who once were my fellow congregants here in this place

  4. for so many years and to see many new faces those who were

  5. not here the five years ago when I moved away.

  6. And so I'm glad to see each and every one of you here today and

  7. I'm thankful to be able to be here.

  8. And to be with you this morning we're going to To take our

  9. reading, from Matthew, the 22nd chapter.

  10. And I'll have the scripture up here on the screen and all the

  11. verses, unless otherwise marked will be from the new King James

  12. version here on the screen. Now, the context of this scene

  13. is Jesus is in Jerusalem, and he's at the temple and this

  14. occurs just three days before he goes to the Cross, during the

  15. final week of his life on Earth, the week of the Passover and

  16. this Particular exchange between Jesus and the Pharisees comes at

  17. the end or towards the end of a lengthy day where Jesus answered

  18. questions from the audience. And now after he's answered

  19. several questions, he turns to ask a question of his own and so

  20. we'll read together in Matthew 22 beginning in verse 41, while

  21. the Pharisees were gathered together.

  22. Jesus asked them saying, what do you think about the Christ,

  23. whose son? One, is he they said to him the

  24. son of David. He said to them, how then does

  25. David in the spirit. Call him Lord saying the Lord

  26. said to my Lord, sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies

  27. your footstool, if David then calls him Lord.

  28. How is he? His son?

  29. And no one was able to answer him a word, nor from that day

  30. on. Did anyone dare question him

  31. anymore? We're going to look at this

  32. exchange and consider the question asked by the Savior.

  33. What about the Christ? The Bible is not a history

  34. textbook, but it does contain loads of historical information.

  35. This information was recorded by Bible writers, not for the

  36. purpose of teaching World Civ 101 but primarily to trace God's

  37. working in the world. This is especially demonstrated

  38. in the Book of Genesis. The word Genesis means Or

  39. beginning the Hebrew title given to the first book of Moses.

  40. Is there a sheath, which means in the beginning, or at the

  41. first a third Genesis though it's filled with Doctrine.

  42. Primarily Moses is riding during the Wilderness wandering to

  43. inform and remind the recently, emancipated Israelites of their

  44. Heritage and what brought them to where they are and where

  45. they're going, the promised land of Canaan.

  46. When you examine Jenna, Assist you find that there are several

  47. themes repeated over and over in its 50 chapters.

  48. One of those themes is that of genealogies, in fact, some have

  49. suggested that maybe the book should be called told death,

  50. which is the Hebrew word for genealogy or Generations because

  51. that word begins every new section in the book in Genesis 2

  52. and verse 4. We read these are the

  53. generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were

  54. created in the day that the Lord God Made the earth and the

  55. heavens Genesis 5:1. This is the book of the

    Genesis 5:1

  56. genealogy of Adam Genesis 6:9. This is the genealogy of Noah

    Genesis 6:9

  57. Genesis 10 1. This is the genealogy of the

  58. sons of Noah. Genesis 11 27, this is the

  59. genealogy of Tara Genesis 25:19. This is the genealogy of Isaac

    Genesis 25:19

  60. and Genesis 37 to. These are the generations of

  61. Jacob by recording these. Genealogies Moses is showing

  62. Where the Israelites originated. He's recording the continuity of

  63. human history. He's setting the historical

  64. background of Israel's national identity and he's tracing the

  65. passing of promises. One of the other great themes of

  66. the Book of Genesis is the idea of Covenant fulfillment.

  67. In Genesis 12, God called Abraham out of UR of the

  68. Chaldeans and he promised him that he would lead him to a

  69. great. And he would give that land to

  70. him that he would make him a great nation.

  71. And also that from his lineage, all the families of the Earth

  72. would be blessed. And we know that promise is the

  73. promise of the Messiah that promise would then pass from

  74. Abraham to Isaac. Not as mail from Isaac, it would

  75. pass to Jacob. Not Esau and from Jacob, it

  76. would pass not to his firstborn Ruben or two Simian, or to Levi,

  77. but it would pass. To Judah the fourth son of

  78. Jacob. And then if we fast forward

  79. Beyond The Book of Genesis and Beyond The Exodus Into the

  80. Wilderness wanderings and Beyond into the conquest of Canaan

  81. under Joshua and we fast-forward through the times of the judges,

  82. we come to the Golden Age of Israel, the age of the United

  83. Kingdom, and they're in first Chronicles chapter 2, the Bible

    1 Chronicles 2 chapter mention

  84. records, guess what? Another genealogy.

  85. And the purpose here is in part to show that one of the

  86. descendants of Judah to whom that abrahamic promise past is a

  87. man named David. David was Israel's second king

  88. chosen to replace the rebellious all during the reign of David

  89. and Solomon. His son Israel was at its most

  90. powerful. Its most majestic, its most

  91. influential and not only that But because David was a

  92. righteous man. God made him some promises.

  93. Now there are many many passages in the Old Testament, which look

  94. forward to the Messiah and many of them mentioned.

  95. The fact that the Messiah would descend from David.

  96. For example, a child will be born to take the Throne of

  97. David. Isaiah 9, God's blessings will

  98. be on the rod from the stem of, Jesse Isaiah. 11 a king will

  99. come from the branch of David, Jeremiah 23 and the one to be

  100. ruler and Israel will be born in Bethlehem.

  101. The city of David Micah 5 and verse 2.

  102. And so on that day during the final week of the Lord's life

  103. here on Earth as Jesus, stood arguing with the Pharisees and

  104. the Sadducees and the herodians. Over all manner of issues, Jesus

  105. fielded some complicated questions.

  106. He fielded a question about whether it was right or not to

  107. pay taxes to Caesar, he fielded a question about a woman who had

  108. been married seven times and they wouldn't know in the

  109. resurrection. Who would she be married to?

  110. He fielded a question about which commandment was the

  111. greatest of all commandments? These were hot button issues

  112. these These were issues which were being debated and argued

  113. over amongst the Jews, these were complicated questions.

  114. And so then when Jesus steps up and he asks his question, he

  115. asked maybe what could have been the simplest question of all

  116. from whom is the Messiah to descend whose son is he?

  117. And it seems that they unite together this audience which had

  118. been divided all day long to answer this silly question.

  119. Well, He's the son of David, of course, and they were right.

  120. They were correct. There is a reason that both

  121. Matthew and Luke include genealogies in their gospels.

  122. It's not just to fill space but in those genealogies rather the

  123. Apostle and Luke both record this great lineage Matthew

  124. records, the lineage from Abraham to David to Jesus.

  125. Luke goes all the way back to Adam and traces.

  126. His genealogy to Jesus showing that the Messiah is not just the

  127. Messiah for the Jews, but he's a messiah for all the descendants

  128. of Adam for all people, of all Nations during the lifetime of

  129. Jesus and his time on Earth. No one.

  130. Bird challenge. That he was descended of David.

  131. No one ever questioned, or a challenge his davidic ancestry

  132. before. Jerusalem was destroyed in ad

  133. 70, the records and genealogies of the Jews were meticulously

  134. capped, at any point during Jesus, preaching career.

  135. And he Israelite could have gone into Jerusalem and gone down to

  136. the hall of records and looked up the information about Jesus

  137. of Nazareth. The son.

  138. Son of Joseph and Mary. And if that no other time in his

  139. ministry, certainly someone would have done that during the

  140. final week the Passover week, because just two days before

  141. Jesus asked his question, Jesus had rode into Jerusalem on the

  142. back of the donkey in the triumphal entry, he'd been gone

  143. from Jerusalem for months and now he's come back for the

  144. Passover week. And when he rides into town,

  145. listen to what they say about him.

  146. Matthew 21 verse 9, the multitudes who went before and

    Matthew 21:9

  147. those who followed cried out saying, Hosanna to the son of

  148. David. I should say.

  149. So, they said that to Jesus blessed, is he?

  150. Who comes in the name of the Lord hosanna in the highest Mark

  151. says in Mark 11 9. And 10 of those who went before,

  152. and those, who followed cried out saying, Hosanna blessed.

  153. Is he who comes in the name of Lord blessed is the kingdom of

  154. Our Father. David, that comes in the name of

  155. the Lord hosanna in the highest. The next day, when Jesus

  156. cleansed the temple. The Bible says that some

  157. children cried out saying, Hosanna to The son of David.

  158. And of course, the priests and scribes were indignant at that.

  159. I think it's easy for us to assume then that somebody did

  160. some checking if Jesus was being heralded as the son of David, a

  161. quick record inspection, could have shown whether this was true

  162. or false, yet no one challenged his ancestry.

  163. And so I think that it can be deduced that they all believed

  164. that he was a descendant of the great king.

  165. But so what? So what who knows how many

  166. hundreds or thousands of Israelites who were living at

  167. this time? Had Royal Blood coursing through

  168. their veins? Who knows how many of them were

  169. The Offspring of David? Is that enough to make somebody

  170. the Messiah? Well, of course not.

  171. And this is the point, Jesus is about to drive home in Matthew,

  172. 22, beginning in verse 43, Jesus said how, then does David say in

  173. the spirit Lord. The Lord said to my Lord, sit at

  174. my right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool, if David

  175. calls him Lord. How is he his son?

  176. The question. Jesus, essentially asks is, how

  177. can the Messiah be David's, son and David's Lord at the same

  178. time? That's the question, how can the

  179. Messiah be David's, son, and David's Lord.

  180. At the same time, Jesus quotes here from the 110th Psalm, which

  181. is a highly Messianic. Psalm David wrote The Psalm in

  182. the first person. And it begins by saying the Lord

  183. said to my Lord, now the first word there in the Old Testament

  184. in 100, in psalm, for Lord, is the sacred.

  185. Name of God. That's the name that God gave to

  186. Moses at the burning bush. You tell them I am sent you.

  187. That's the name of the Lord but the second Lord, the Lord said

  188. to, my Lord is the word Adonai and that's a word that means

  189. ruler or Master. It's the most common title given

  190. to God, as in Daniel 523 when God has called the Lord, the

  191. ruler of Heaven. So David is riding in the spirit

  192. which means by inspiration and he wrote that the Lord God said

  193. to David's Lord the mighty ruler sit at my right hand until I

  194. make your enemies your footstool.

  195. Notice that the Messiah is not just called Lord but also he

  196. sits at God's right hand and he tramples his enemies underfoot.

  197. This is the same song that's quoted by the Hebrew writer.

  198. When it says, the Lord has sworn and will not relent you are a

  199. priest forever. According to the order of

  200. Melchizedek, this is about Jesus.

  201. And so if David calls him Lord how is he?

  202. His son. And no one was able to answer

  203. him a word. You see, friends, the Jews were

  204. like, many people of today many people.

  205. Hold some truth about Jesus, but their view of him is

  206. insufficient in one way or another.

  207. The Jews were right in that, they knew the Messiah would

  208. descend from David, but they missed all the Old Testament

  209. passages. That taught that the Messiah

  210. would be more than just a man. They failed to see the Messiah

  211. would also be the Son of God. And so what I want to do for the

  212. remainder of our time, this morning is to look at some

  213. common views about Jesus today. Some common ways that people see

  214. Jesus today, and we're going to ask the question if that is

  215. accurate according to the scripture, or if there's

  216. something inadequate about that view and the First view may be a

  217. bit surprising to you, but the first few that I want to talk

  218. about this morning is the Islamic view of Jesus.

  219. A did you know that Muslims believe that Jesus was one of

  220. 25? Prophets sent by Allah into the

  221. world to reveal Heavens, message to Mankind in the Quran.

  222. The fifth chapter and the 46 verse it says, an in their

  223. footsteps, we sent Jesus, the son of Mary, Mary confirming the

  224. law that had come before him, we sent him.

  225. The gospel therein was guidance and light and the confirmation

  226. of the law that had come before him a guidance.

  227. And an admonition to those who fear Allah, the Quran Praises

  228. Jesus. As one of the finest profits to

  229. ever walk the earth, he was one who held forth.

  230. Truth to a reprobate people who had rejected his message.

  231. Jesus along with me. Muhammad According to Islamic

  232. belief will stand together with Allah and judge the world.

  233. Now, there's some people today who lost the Muslim belief

  234. concerning Jesus. They're impressed that Muslims

  235. have such a high view of him as a prophet.

  236. And even believe that certain types of religious Fellowship

  237. can be extended by Christian people to Muslims because of

  238. their common beliefs were friends.

  239. This is wrong. Let me give you just one reason

  240. why it's wrong. Jesus was, of course, a prophet

  241. sent by God to reveal truth. That's correct.

  242. They have one truth about Jesus, but we know that he was so much

  243. more than that. He was God's son, Muslims, deny

  244. the deity of Christ. They also deny that he was

  245. crucified and that he died a substitutionary sacrifice for

  246. sin. My friends to deny this is to

  247. now the gospel because Paul wrote In First Corinthians 15

  248. and verse 34. I delivered to you first of all,

  249. that which I also received how that Christ died for our sins.

  250. According to the scriptures, the Islamic view fall short, because

  251. they deny the Cornerstone of the Gospel.

  252. But number two, let me talk about another view with you few

  253. minutes, and that's the liberal view.

  254. Now, we use the word liberal in a broad sense.

  255. Since today. But historically, what's known

  256. as theological liberalism or Protestant, liberalism was a

  257. movement that began in the 19th century and it was rooted in the

  258. philosophies of men like Immanuel Kant and the religious

  259. teachings of this man Friedrich schleiermacher and basically

  260. this movement which is still very common.

  261. Today is a movement which tries to meld religious Christian

  262. convictions with scientific. Facts or what they claim are

  263. scientific facts. And so this type of liberalism

  264. was known for its denial of the supernatural.

  265. It's denial of Miracles or the inspiration of the Bible and it

  266. promoted a more relativistic or pluralistic or non doctrinal

  267. approach to Christianity in the liberal view.

  268. Jesus was a great moral teacher. He was a great moral teacher.

  269. He had a view of ethics that have never been seen in the

  270. world before his time. He shine forth to the darkness

  271. of pharisaic Judaism to shed. New light on themes, Like Loving

  272. ones neighbor and doing good unto others.

  273. He was an incredibly inspiring man.

  274. Is that true about Jesus? Yes, of course, was Jesus a

  275. great moral teacher. Absolutely.

  276. But, of course, he was so much more than that.

  277. One of the greatest testimonials concerning, the authority of

  278. Christ. Was the fact that he worked

  279. miracles and Acts chapter 2, as the Apostle Peter is preaching

    Acts 2 chapter mention

  280. on Pentecost. He says, in verse 22, men of

  281. Israel. Hear these words, Jesus of

  282. Nazareth, a man attested by God to you by Miracles, wonders, and

  283. signs, which God did through him in your midst, as you

  284. yourselves. Also know, you know what I love

  285. about this passage just a few minutes ago, when Peter, and the

  286. other Apostles started to preach the crowd blurted out an

  287. accusation against them. Remember what it was the

  288. accusation was these men are drunk.

  289. These men are intoxicated, that's what explains what's

  290. going on here. And of course, the Apostle said,

  291. we're not drunk. Unk, this is what was spoken of

  292. by the prophet. Joel, the prophets, look forward

  293. to this time. But when we get to this part

  294. right here in verse 22, and Peter says, God testified that

  295. he was with Jesus by signs and wonders and miracles as you

  296. yourselves, also know. Nobody said a word.

  297. Nobody said a word. Because everybody knew it was

  298. true. Nobody could deny it, no one

  299. could deny the Miracles worked by God in Jesus Christ.

  300. As you yourselves also know, you know that it is true.

  301. Peter says to deny the Supernatural is to deny the

  302. Divine authority of Jesus. The greatest of the miraculous

  303. Atta stations of Jesus was the resurrection.

  304. Others worked miracles before Jesus, and others, worked

  305. miracles after, but the resurrection makes all the

  306. difference. If Jesus arose, and is alive.

  307. He must be the Son of God. If not why pay any attention to

  308. him. And so, back in First

  309. Corinthians 15, when Paul is writing about the gospel, he

  310. says, we know that these things are true.

  311. We know that Christ died for our Sins according to the

  312. scriptures, we know that he was buried and we know that he rose

  313. again the third day because all these people saw him, you ever

  314. wonder why Paul names all these names in 1st Corinthians 15?

  315. This is me reading a little between the lines.

  316. But it seems to me that Paul is saying, if you don't believe it,

  317. go talk to this person. You don't believe what I'm

  318. writing. I'll give you a reference.

  319. Here's somebody, you can go talk to about these people solve

  320. Jesus. After he had risen from the dead

  321. and that witness makes all the difference.

  322. So this view fall short. And now we go to our third View

  323. and maybe these first two views haven't been too common and

  324. people you've encountered today, that's okay, because I know

  325. you've heard this third View and I'm going to call it the

  326. denominational View. A common Mantra in the

  327. denominational world today is to say, Jesus is my personal

  328. savior. You ever heard somebody say that

  329. certainly you have certainly you've heard maybe a TV or radio

  330. preacher who will look into the camera or speak into the

  331. microphone and say something like have you accepted Jesus as

  332. your personal Savior and then that question is usually

  333. followed by some unbiblical jargon about Inviting Jesus into

  334. your heart and reciting a sinner's prayer such as not

  335. found in the New Testament and never is given as an

  336. Invitational plea in the Bible. Now, the phrase itself might

  337. have some Merit Jesus is my personal savior died, identifies

  338. the name of Jesus and ascribe to him, the title of Savior, and

  339. that's good. And even the idea of a personal

  340. savior, might not be wrong. In the fact that each individual

  341. must decide whether or not to follow, oh, oh, Jesus, and faith

  342. and obedience. But there are at least two

  343. problems with this view, which I think makes them makes it

  344. insufficient. First of all, it promotes the

  345. notion of Lone Wolf Christianity.

  346. You see, Jesus is not merely a personal savior, he's a

  347. corporate savior. He's a corporate savior.

  348. Paul wrote that the husband is the head of the wife as also

  349. Christ is head of the church and savior of the body.

  350. Savior of the body Ephesians 5:23.

    Ephesians 5:23

  351. Jesus purchased the church with his blood and he is the savior

  352. of the body. Not really the same as a

  353. personal savior, but the second reason why this view is

  354. insufficient, is that while it acknowledges that Jesus is a

  355. savior, it ignores the fact that Jesus is also Lord.

  356. See, this is the nature of so much.

  357. Modern religion, folks today, want to call Jesus Savior, but

  358. they don't want to follow him as Lord.

  359. They want Redemption without repentance they want,

  360. forgiveness without faithfulness.

  361. They want heaven without the hard work.

  362. And so when Peter, preached much different than telling people to

  363. accept Jesus as their personal savior, he told them to repent

  364. and to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the

  365. remission of sins. You want to know what to be.

  366. So what to do to be saved. That's an answer that you ought

  367. to hear. And if you hear something

  368. different than that, you're hearing something different than

  369. what the apostles preached and what the Bible teaches.

  370. The denominational view is insufficient and fall short.

  371. One more, one more, I want to discuss with you before we

  372. close. You've been so patient with me

  373. this far. Hang in there for a few more

  374. minutes while we talk about what I'm going to call the cultic

  375. view, the cultic view. Now a few hundred years ago,

  376. there were a couple of religious bodies which emerged in America

  377. and they proposed a lot of very bizarre beliefs and so because

  378. of their outrageous beliefs. People label them as a cult.

  379. For example, some deny that Sunday is the Christian day of

  380. worship. Some deny that God is eternal.

  381. Some deny that Jesus is God. They claim that Jesus was a

  382. created being. And that before the universe was

  383. created God created Jesus. And then through Jesus, he made

  384. the rest of creation. It's important to note that

  385. those who believe this about Jesus that he was a created

  386. being will. Still call Jesus, the son of

  387. God. But they mean something very

  388. different by that. So if you ever have a chance to

  389. speak with the Jehovah's Witness, you'll discover that

  390. they use. A lot of the same words you use,

  391. but they're playing by different dictionary.

  392. They have a different understanding of what those

  393. words mean. And so when they say Jesus is

  394. the son of God, they mean something different than you

  395. mean when you You say that can Jesus be called The Son of God

  396. if he, if one believes that he is not actually God, that's the

  397. question here. Can Jesus be called The Son of

  398. God? If you don't believe that he is

  399. God, let me say very quickly that there are many passages in

  400. the Bible which teach that the Messiah would be God on Earth.

  401. Let me look at a few with you and Isaiah chapter 9 and verse

    Isaiah 9 chapter mention

  402. 6. The prophet says this or unto us

  403. a child is born, unto us a son is given and the government will

  404. be upon his shoulder. And his name will be called

  405. wonderful, counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting father, Prince

  406. of Peace. So in Prophecy, as Isaiah is

  407. given a vision of things to come.

  408. He declares that a child will be born.

  409. Born, the Messiah will come into the world and one of his name's

  410. one of his titles will be that he is mighty God.

  411. And so when Matthew writes this in Matthew chapter 1, beginning

    Matthew 1 chapter mention

  412. in verse 21, we have to understand what Isaiah said

  413. before. It Matthew wrote a concerning

  414. Mary, she will bear a son and you shall call his name Jesus

  415. for. He will save his people from

  416. their sins. Now, all this took place to

  417. fulfill what was spoken by the Lord, through the prophet.

  418. behold the Virgin shall be with child, and shall bear a son, and

  419. they shall call his name Emmanuel which is translated

  420. what God With Us. God With Us one more, one more

  421. passage. Now, look at this one here.

  422. This is second. Peter 1 verse 1.

    2 Peter 1:1

  423. Peter is beginning to write his second letter and he says, Simon

  424. Peter a bomb servant Apostle of Jesus Christ to those who have

  425. obtained like Precious Faith with us by the righteousness of

  426. our God and savior. Jesus Christ.

  427. Now Peter when he writes this says that Jesus is God and

  428. savior. If you ever have an opportunity

  429. to study with someone who's a Jehovah's Witness, one thing,

  430. you'll need to discuss is the translation of the Bible.

  431. They use, they use something called The New World

  432. Translation. And the New World Translation is

  433. very good at avoiding passages, like second, Peter 1 verse 1.

  434. So, look at what they've done here.

  435. Thanks. I'm Peter slave and Apostle of

  436. Jesus Christ to those who acquire Faith as precious as

  437. ours to the righteousness of our God.

  438. And the savior, Jesus Christ. Now that might not seem like a

  439. major change, but just adding that, the sort of makes it seem

  440. like there's God. And then, there's the Savior

  441. Jesus Christ. And these two are not the same

  442. people, is that kind of what it, that's how you would read, it,

  443. wouldn't you? But there's a problem with that.

  444. And the problem is that this, the isn't in the Greek Bible.

  445. How do I know that? Because there's the Greek right

  446. there. So, we have in diaper soon,

  447. etouffee. Oh, hey, Mom.

  448. That's this right here. The righteousness of our God,

  449. the righteousness of our God. Then, look here and Savior,

  450. Jesus Christ. there's no, the There's no thought this right

  451. here. They just threw it in.

  452. It's not there and that's something you'll have to deal

  453. with if you ever happen to have an opportunity to study with

  454. someone who's a Jehovah's Witness, the Bible affirms, that

  455. Jesus is God and savior. The fact that he was begotten of

  456. the father speaks of his Incarnation when he was born

  457. into a human body. And so this View That says Jesus

  458. is the son of God but denies that he is God falls short.

  459. What do you think about the Christ?

  460. This morning? Was he a great prophet?

  461. And a long series of prophets? Was he an extraordinary moral

  462. and ethical teacher? Was he a personal savior?

  463. Was he begotten? Son of God.

  464. Was he the son of David? Yes, he was all these and more.

  465. The Lord said to my Lord sit at my right hand until I make your

  466. enemies, your footstool, in the beginning was the word and the

  467. Word was with God. And the Word was God, and the

  468. word became flesh and dwelt among us and we beheld his

  469. glory, he is the image of the invisible God.

  470. He is the brightness of his glory and the express image of

  471. his person and upholding All Things by the word of his power.

  472. When he had by himself purged, our sins sat down at the right

  473. hand of the Majesty on high. He is the first and the last and

  474. in him, we have Redemption through his blood, the

  475. Forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his glory, he

  476. is the Christ, the son of the Living, God, and the Lord Jesus

  477. Christ, the lord of Glory. That's what the Bible says.

  478. About Jesus. What about you today?

  479. What do you believe about Jesus? Are you ready today to look to

  480. Jesus as the author and finisher of your faith?

  481. We already wet read what Peter said to those who were pricked

  482. in their hearts and interested in knowing what they needed to

  483. do to be saved. They had declared their faith in

  484. Christ. And so, Peter turned to them and

  485. said, repent. And let every one of you be

  486. baptized in the name of Jesus, perhaps you're here today, and

  487. you've not done, that Jesus himself said, while he was still

  488. on the earth, he who believes and is baptized will be saved.

  489. Saved in Mark 16 and verse 16. If you're ready to come to

  490. Christ and obey the gospel. Today, we are here for you.
