  1. Good morning everyone. And we're glad that you're here

  2. this morning. I took a lesson out of the

  3. archives and kind of reworked it a little bit and hopefully it

  4. brings some things to mind this morning that will benefit us in

  5. our in our daily Christian Living.

  6. And Luke, the 9th chapter, we take our text for our lesson

  7. this morning versus 57 through 62 and will comment more on

  8. these and get more detailed into these later on in the lesson.

  9. but, The story is here. Now it happened as they

  10. journeyed on the road that someone said to him, Lord, I

  11. will follow you wherever you go. And Jesus said to him, foxes

  12. have holes. And birds of the air have nests,

  13. but the son of man has nowhere to lay his head.

  14. Then he said to another follow me, but he said, Lord, let me

  15. first go and bury my father. Jesus said to him, let the dead

  16. bury. The dead bury their own dead,

  17. but you go and preach the kingdom of God.

  18. And another also said, Lord, I will follow you, but let me go

  19. first, go and bid them farewell, who are at my house.

  20. But Jesus said to him, no one having put his hand to the plow

  21. and looking back is fit for the kingdom of God.

  22. These individuals still wanted to have their connections to

  23. other things instead of surrendering to Jesus.

  24. They wanted to make a commitment, but they didn't want

  25. really to surrender. Their was conditions to what the

  26. invitation was to them. So many of us want to have full

  27. control in our lives, you know, it it just seems like when we

  28. lose control of what's going on in our life, Things Fall Apart

  29. and it's sometimes just turns into a wreck but we like to have

  30. control of our lives and we like to be the ones in control and

  31. sometimes some may even call you a control freak because you want

  32. to have every little thing done in your life a certain little

  33. way. And but some refused to

  34. surrender too much of anything and especially to God.

  35. But also many, who have been baptized into, Jesus refused to

  36. surrender, to control to the control of Jesus in their lives

  37. as well. A common phrase in the church

  38. today is I'm going to make a commitment.

  39. But they refused to surrender to the control of Jesus in their

  40. lives. You've heard it said and we've

  41. all maybe said it you know, that person needs to be more

  42. committed to this or two that people need to be more committed

  43. to their jobs, they need to become more committed to their

  44. families. They need need to be more

  45. committed to all different kinds of things.

  46. But when you really look at the word committed, you'll find that

  47. that word committed, doesn't really go far enough to what

  48. we're talking about this morning committed is defined as a

  49. promise to do or I give something a promise to be loyal

  50. to someone or something. In other words, marriage, vows

  51. the attitude of someone who works very hard to do or support

  52. something committed to a certain cause there are all kinds of

  53. commitments that we make these days.

  54. You make, you may make a commitment you're willing to be

  55. the one in control of this or that. and and a person can make

  56. a commitment to pray more and to study their Bible, more maybe,

  57. make their their house payment, or their car payment, whatever

  58. you choose to do, we commit ourselves to doing it, but

  59. surrendering is different if someone holds a gun to your

  60. head, And you lift your hands up in the air and they tell you to

  61. surrender, you've given up control, you're not in control

  62. anymore, you're surrendering to them.

  63. You can't just say, well, I'm committed to do what you tell me

  64. to do. I'm going to make that

  65. commitment to you. If they hold a gun up and tell

  66. you to put your hands in the air, know what you're going to

  67. do is surrender, you're giving up everything that you want to

  68. do and now you're going to do what they I want you to do our

  69. problem is that we still want to be the ones that maintain

  70. control in our lives and continue to work and struggle at

  71. serving. God, we keep trying to fight

  72. against God for the control of our lives and we keep making a

  73. mess out of everything. Always expecting a different

  74. result. Each time surrender means that

  75. we give up to God. No more fighting or conflict Why

  76. is it that something that that they can keep doing the same

  77. thing and expect a different result?

  78. You know, that's the definition of insanity doing the same thing

  79. over and over and over expecting a different result.

  80. Thinking they will make a commitment after this time or

  81. that time or, you know, I'm going to give this up next time.

  82. The next time this happens then I'll do the right thing.

  83. But never making the changes that result in a different

  84. outcome. Never giving up the battle that

  85. goes on in their lives. And what happens in their lives

  86. is it just turns into an absolute train wreck Sometimes,

  87. we counsel those people, we try to get them to understand.

  88. You can't keep doing that but they want to make a commitment

  89. if they can just eventually get it right, you see.

  90. We have enough commitment in the church today.

  91. What we need is surrender complete surrender to Jesus

  92. Christ. It seems may be contradictory

  93. for us to, for people to think that when we surrender that

  94. we're actually doing the right thing.

  95. Because, you know, when we think about surrendering, we think the

  96. well, I lost The battle I've given up, you know, when we when

  97. we think about surrendering, we think of countries in battles

  98. against each other and when they wave the red, the white flag and

  99. surrender there giving up. And now someone else is, can in

  100. control. That's what happens.

  101. But when we surrender Our Lives to God, when we surrender Our

  102. Lives to Jesus Christ, we are the winners we're not giving up

  103. anything. We give it over to God.

  104. And to Jesus Christ, we are not the Sirs.

  105. When we fully trust God, fully surrender.

  106. Hint to him. We are the winners submission.

  107. And surrender doesn't make us a prisoner.

  108. In fact, it frees us from the bondage of sin notice.

  109. Romans 8, and verse 24, the law of the spirit of life in Christ,

  110. Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death surrender

  111. is defined as to agree to stop fighting hiding resisting and so

  112. on because you know that you will not win or succeed to give

  113. oneself up into the power of another to yield.

  114. Means we give up the fight, we're not fighting anymore.

  115. Would give in to the control of someone else in our life.

  116. You know. We don't like that people today,

  117. we don't like giving up and giving in to someone else.

  118. We find that this is a problem within within the marriage life

  119. today, that one wants to win and the other one wants to win and

  120. they just go head-to-head all the time.

  121. And all it is is just a big mess, whereas if one would give

  122. him or both would give in and see what to do with the benefit,

  123. is for the other things would certainly work out.

  124. Bedded better to acknowledge Jesus as Lord and Master Of Our

  125. Lives to surrender. Her to him.

  126. Gives us power. Power in our lives to let

  127. someone else help us guide. Us lead us in the right way

  128. accepting the authority of someone or something else.

  129. There is power in surrender to God.

  130. It's not accepting defeat to Center.

  131. Surrender means to end the fight.

  132. The struggles, there's no more argument, no more fighting God.

  133. It's when we realize that his way is better than our way.

  134. You know, I've had times and in our lives that we think that

  135. we're right about something, and we just stand the ground with it

  136. and then come to find out. We were wrong and it's somebody

  137. else was right. Well, God is always right.

  138. God is always right and we need to give in to that.

  139. The opposite of surrender is to live in Rebellion.

  140. Rebellion means opposition toward a person in Authority.

  141. We see lot of rebellion today, don't we?

  142. We see it in the news. We see it everywhere that people

  143. don't like Authority. And that's part of the problem

  144. with the world is, they don't want to turn the authority over

  145. to God, they've taken God out of out of the schools, they taken

  146. God out of the families, they've taken God out of All different

  147. kinds of things. And then we wonder why there are

  148. so many problems in the world. They don't like the authority of

  149. God. And have not surrendered to God.

  150. And when we Rebel on one thing, it's usually turns into many

  151. things. And we see that happening today,

  152. as well, whatever it is that you're holding onto.

  153. That's keeping us from surrending, is not something

  154. that's eternal. If there's something that's keep

  155. you keeping you today from surrendering to Jesus and

  156. surrendering to God, it's only a temporal thing.

  157. It's things. And it's not eternal.

  158. It's fleshly and it's worldliness.

  159. Temporal, we must start doing things God's way the world we

  160. live in and the people we are around put so much trust in our

  161. own intelligence and education. Others think that trusting the

  162. Lord is not. And and not our own

  163. understanding is crazy. Why would you, why would you

  164. turn your trust over to something that you can't see?

  165. And they try to reason out all of these things if they can't

  166. pick up, just any old book and read about it or or whatever and

  167. prove it, false will why would you believe something like that?

  168. Why would you have faith in God? Why would you have faith in

  169. heaven? Why would you have faith?

  170. That baptism saves your soul? And they think you're crazy.

  171. But this is the center of what it means to surrender is

  172. trusting in our God, and not our own understanding, or anyone

  173. else is understanding, I hear and read of so many that are

  174. worried and concerned of the things that are going on in this

  175. world today and they find themselves struggling to cope

  176. with what's going on today in life.

  177. Because the way of the world is the way that the world is going

  178. doesn't make sense to them. Well, it doesn't have to make

  179. sense to us. When our trust is in God.

  180. What goes on in this world doesn't make sense.

  181. What goes on in life, doesn't make sense?

  182. And is not fair and is not, right?

  183. And is not trustworthy. And what men tell you and what

  184. Rend reason with you about in this life doesn't make sense and

  185. is not trustworthy. If we're putting all our trust

  186. in the things of this world, it's in the wrong place.

  187. A surrendered Christian acknowledges God at every step

  188. living a life of total trust in his power, in his plan, in his

  189. will in order to comprehend and experience.

  190. Surrender to God, obedience to the gospel, is a requirement,

  191. the Lost rebellious person, must have faith, Hebrews 11 and verse

  192. 6, but without faith, it is impossible to please him.

  193. For he who comes to God, must believe that he is, and that he

  194. is a rewarder. Order of those who diligently

  195. seek him. If I'm going to surrendered

  196. myself to Jesus. And to God, I must have faith in

  197. God that he does he can and will do what he has promised.

  198. He will do. Absolutely, we must repent of

  199. Our Lives, Luke 13 over 3, I tell you no but unless you

  200. repent you will all likewise perish.

  201. A rebellious person must make the confession of faith in

  202. Jesus. As the Son of God, Matthew 10

    Matthew 10:32

  203. verse 32. Therefore, whoever confesses me

  204. before men him. I will also confess before my

  205. father, who is in heaven? And then the rebellious person

  206. must repent of you baptized, and then be baptized for the

  207. remission of his sins Acts 2 and verse 38, repent.

  208. And let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus

  209. Christ for the remission of sins and you shall receive the gift

  210. of the Holy Spirit. This is the acceptance of a new

  211. master. A lord, lord means master.

  212. When we have a master we subject and we surrender to that Master,

  213. we do his will we do his? We he is the one that is in

  214. control. Luke 9 and verse 23.

  215. And he said to them all if any man will come after me let him

  216. deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.

  217. I know this is a hard thing for us to do is to deny our self.

  218. You know, we want, we live in a world, that is selfish.

  219. I want this, I want that. I'm going to do this.

  220. I'm going to do that. Not if the Lord is willing, but

  221. we live in a selfish selfish world where everyone wants to do

  222. what they want to. And that's a hard thing for them

  223. to do, is to deny themselves to surrender to Jesus means that

  224. there has to be room for Jesus. In their life.

  225. If a person says that they're committed to Jesus, but has not

  226. turned away from their old ways, there's no room for the

  227. surrender and replacement of the old ways.

  228. It's like trying to put 10 pounds of dirt in a 5-pound bag.

  229. If there's, if it's already full of dirt, you can't put anything

  230. in it. If there's no room in the in the

  231. person's heart for Jesus, then you can't replace what is in

  232. there. You have to take out the old

  233. before you can put in the new And so it is with the Christian

  234. Living, we have to die for from ourselves so that Christ can

  235. live and work within us. If we're all stuck on ourselves

  236. and we're all taking care of ourselves and all of our own

  237. selfish desires all the time and that's all that controls our

  238. life, there's no room for Jesus in our life, because it's all

  239. about us. It's all about me.

  240. There's no room for Jesus. The Bible teaches the Christian

  241. has to put off the old ways, the way all old way of thinking and

  242. speaking, and living, and doing, and make room for Christ.

  243. Notice Galatians 5, and verse 24 and they that are Christ's have

  244. crucified, the flesh with the affections and lusts.

  245. That means those are gone, Romans 6, and 6 knowing this,

  246. that our old man was crucified with him that the body of sin

  247. might be done away with that. We should no longer be slaves of

  248. sin. Trusting God, that his way is

  249. best is the beginning of our surrender to him.

  250. Notice proverbs, 31 verses 5 through 6, trust in the Lord,

    Proverbs 31:5–6

  251. with all your heart and lean not to your own understanding, in

  252. all your ways acknowledge Him and He Shall direct your paths.

  253. Be led. He has made the path.

  254. He's leading us down that path. All we need to do is follow him.

  255. Put our trust and faith in him. There have been people that I

  256. have followed sometimes on roads and this and that and and you

  257. wonder what in the world are they doing?

  258. Where are they going? Some dark Road or some dark

  259. Trail. I remember one time when we were

  260. out deer hunting in Oregon. Late in the afternoon.

  261. Got the truck stuck. Couldn't get out of there.

  262. I knew where a house was about a mile away.

  263. And we started off in the dark headed towards the house.

  264. Neither one of us really knew where we were going.

  265. But all of a sudden, we saw the light From that house.

  266. I knew where I was going. Jesus is our light, Jesus is our

  267. pathway. Jesus is our way unless our, we

  268. surrender up over to him and let him lead us down this path.

  269. We will be dead LED down a path of sin and write us living.

  270. Getting back to our text, there are three things I would like to

  271. notice about surrendering to Jesus.

  272. As first, we must submit our life to Jesus.

  273. We must neither this world and we must focus on the kingdom.

  274. First, we must submit our life to Jesus and our text, Luke 9

  275. and verse 57. Now it happened as they

  276. journeyed on the road that someone said to him, Lord, I

  277. will follow you wherever you go. And Jesus said to him, foxes

  278. have holes and the birds of the air have nests, but the son of

  279. man has nowhere to lay his head. Now Jesus wasn't saying to this

  280. man, you know, turning him away. He was explained to him the cost

  281. of being a disciple He makes it clear that there was more to

  282. following him than just simply going wherever he went.

  283. And walking around with him that there was going to be a cost.

  284. Foxes. Have holes birds have nests, but

  285. the son of man has nowhere to lay his head.

  286. In other words, you understand what you're doing, when you make

  287. this surrender to me, Many times we find people who get caught up

  288. in the excitement and the emotion of hearing a lesson or

  289. whatever, but they're not really willing to to surrender their

  290. life over to Jesus. They just kind of get emotional

  291. about things and they they want to get things fixed in their

  292. life. They just want to get things

  293. fixed but they don't want to surrender.

  294. James and John surrendered to Jesus.

  295. After after he called them Lotus.

  296. Mark one in verses 19 and 20 when he had gone a little

  297. farther from there. He saw James, the son of Zebedee

  298. and John his brother who also were in the boat, mending their

  299. Nets and immediately he can't, he called them, and they left

  300. their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired servants and went

  301. after him. Dropped what they were doing and

  302. went. Jesus called James and John and

  303. they surrendered their lives to him.

  304. They left their home, their families, their job to follow

  305. Christ. They left everything.

  306. When Jesus calls us to come to him, we must submit to him.

  307. And we are to live a life of complete surrender to our

  308. Savior. All the apostles.

  309. Did that they didn't go back to their fishing or they're they're

  310. collecting taxes or whatever it was that they were doing.

  311. They follow Jesus until the day, they died for Jesus.

  312. And, you know, God requires things of us sometimes that we

  313. just don't want to give up. In verse 59 and 60, or a text,

  314. we see that that if we're going to completely surrender, then we

  315. must deny this world. Verse 59, then he said to

  316. another follow me. But he said, Lord, let me go and

  317. bury my father. Jesus said to him, let the dead

  318. bury their own dead, but you go and preach the kingdom of God.

  319. Now, this first individual, we notice previously, made an offer

  320. to Jesus. He says, I'll follow you

  321. wherever you go. But Jesus now, invites this

  322. person to follow him. He receives an offer from Jesus.

  323. We have an opportunity to follow Jesus.

  324. He said to this man, follow me. Jesus offers a man, the

  325. opportunity to follow him an invitation to follow him, and

  326. the same word, Jesus said to the Peter, and James, and John, and

  327. Andrew, Matthew, Thomas, and others, he said to this man,

  328. Jesus is still calling men today to follow him.

  329. The last invitation in the Bible says in revelation. 22 verse 17

    Revelation 22:17

  330. in the spirit and the bride say come and let him who hears say

  331. come and let him who thirsts come on.

  332. Whoever desires, let him take the Water of Life freely.

  333. Jesus is Calling today. He's inviting everyone to come

  334. follow him. There's still an opportunity.

  335. But in this verse, we also see that we still put obstacles in

  336. the way of following Jesus. Jesus gave this man an

  337. invitation and the man wanted to accept it, but he had something

  338. that was so important to him, that he needed to get taken care

  339. of. He said, Lord, let me go bury my

  340. father. And then I'm Yours.

  341. Jesus is telling this man to let the spiritually dead bury the

  342. dead. And what is it?

  343. That hinders us. From surrendering to Jesus

  344. today. there are three things, I believe that hinder us from

  345. surrendering to Jesus day, personal desires, family

  346. obligations social expectations, What about personal desires?

  347. There are some things in this life that we just want to

  348. accomplish, you know, there's nothing wrong with accomplishing

  349. things in your life. Absolutely not.

  350. There's nothing wrong with your children, accomplishing things.

  351. There's nothing wrong with your spouse.

  352. Accomplishing things in this life.

  353. Absolutely not. But when those things hinder us

  354. from surrendering to Jesus, when we let our own personal

  355. aspirations get in our way, Then there's a problems.

  356. There are places we want to go. Yeah, there are things that that

  357. we want to see their goals that we want to reach their things

  358. that we want to do and because of these things, sometimes we

  359. refuse to surrender, everything to Jesus Christ because I need

  360. to do that. I need to get that out of my

  361. system or I want to accomplish that.

  362. Well there's this going on over here to serve.

  363. We need no no I got this. This other thing to do.

  364. We like the idea of peace and joy and eternal life, but we

  365. want to live this life for ourselves.

  366. We've made our life here on Earth.

  367. So comfortable for ourselves that, you know, I want to do

  368. things my way for now. So we let our personal desires,

  369. get in our way and we let our family obligations.

  370. Get in our way and our social expectations, get in our way.

  371. What about the family obligations?

  372. We can understand their with where this man is coming from

  373. this father with had passed away and he wanted to go bury him.

  374. The problem is not that he wanted to bury his father.

  375. The problems that he was giving Jesus a postponed commitment

  376. instead of complete surrender. I'll go follow you.

  377. But I'll serve you, but I need to do this.

  378. I need to do that. I want to do this.

  379. I want to do that. What how does that happen in our

  380. lives? I know I need to serve you Lord

  381. but any time that word, but comes in there's a problem.

  382. Why don't we just serve? Instead of do always doing what

  383. we want to do first. So many people put their family

  384. in front of Jesus. They can't serve or honor the

  385. responsibilities in the church because their children have so

  386. much going on, they can't do the work of the Lord, because they

  387. put their relationships to their spouse before the relationship

  388. with Jesus. Jesus makes it clear that if

  389. you're going to be his disciple, you cannot.

  390. Let family come between you and him.

  391. Luke 14:26. If anyone comes to me and does

    Luke 14:26

  392. not hate his father, and mother wife and children, brothers, and

  393. sit, brothers and sisters. Yes, and his own life also, he

  394. cannot be my disciple. Now we've heard it said time and

  395. time again that doesn't mean that we hate our family.

  396. That means that we love them less than we love God. so he

  397. says, if you're doing things to where your family is getting, in

  398. the way of your service to God, You can't be my disciple,

  399. sometimes this causes a whole lot of pain and a lot of trouble

  400. and problems in the family. when one individual wants to

  401. surrender to God or to Jesus and the other doesn't We have

  402. attachment attachments with our families but which sometimes

  403. make a decision to surrender to Jesus very painful then there

  404. are the social expectations. I wonder if this man thought to

  405. himself. What will my friends and

  406. neighbors? Think if I don't bury my father,

  407. you know, two people, too many people, I've seen people get

  408. concerned about what their spouse is going to think if they

  409. turn the life over to God, and to Jesus, They worry about their

  410. friends, how it's going to impact their friendship with

  411. others. Listen to what the Apostle John

  412. says had to say. In first, John, 2 and verse 15,

  413. do not love the world or the things in the world.

  414. If any man loves the world, the love of the father is not in him

  415. for all that is in the world. The lust of the flesh, the lust

  416. of the eyes and the pride of life is not of the father, but

  417. is of the world and the world is passing away and the less of it.

  418. And he who does the will of God abides forever.

  419. So if you desire complete surrender, you must deny this

  420. world and the things that are in it.

  421. And focus on things above. And that's the next part of our

  422. text to focus on the kingdom of God.

  423. And he said, and another also said, Lord, I will follow you,

  424. but let me first go and bid them farewell, who are at my house.

  425. But Jesus said to him, no one having put his hand to the plow

  426. and looking back is fit for the kingdom of God.

  427. After submitting to the Lord and 9 the world, then our lives will

  428. be Christ and not ours. You know, we didn't we don't

  429. necessarily like that statement that when I when I give my life

  430. to God and give my life to Jesus and I'm baptized into Christ for

  431. the remission of my sins that my life is not mine anymore.

  432. It's someone else we don't like that, do we?

  433. We don't like giving ourself in our Wills over to someone else.

  434. We think we're giving up, we're losing know, we're winning.

  435. We're winning. Our life is not our own anymore.

  436. You know what Jesus died on the cross for us so that we could

  437. have the hope of Eternal salvation.

  438. The least I can do is serve him. How selfish of me to want the

  439. blessing. Of Salvation and not serve.

  440. How selfish of us? We are to be a Living Sacrifice,

  441. Romans, 12, and verse 1. I beseech you therefore Brethren

  442. by the mercies of God, that you present, your bodies, a Living

  443. Sacrifice, holy acceptable to God, which is your reasonable

  444. service. Our life is not ours anymore.

  445. If we want the blessing of our sins being washed away, it is

  446. not our life anymore. We are bought with the price of

  447. the blood of Christ. It is not our life anymore, and

  448. if we are not willing to give our life and surrender to Jesus

  449. Christ, then we don't get the blessing.

  450. And must be a surrender. It must be giving up, our will

  451. to serve him and to focus on the kingdom of God for 61 says,

  452. Lord, I will follow you. But let me first go and bury go

  453. and bid them farewell, who are at my house, it involves finding

  454. and fixing those things that our priorities in our life.

  455. That Jesus and God is the priority of our Life.

  456. You see this man wanted to serve but he had conditions, he said,

  457. but let me go do this first. I will follow you.

  458. After I tell everyone, goodbye. He wanted to set his Affairs in

  459. order and this man had too much attachment to the things that

  460. are in the world. And this is a common issue in

  461. the lives of many today misplaced priorities when they

  462. feel the time is right. When they finished sowing their

  463. Wild Oats, excuse me, what I do. Yeah.

  464. After they've taken care of certain things and after they

  465. cleaned themselves up when it's more convenient for them, so

  466. many Christians fail to give their all because it's not

  467. really a priority. They want to serve God on their

  468. terms. and this is the world we live in today that Mill sir.

  469. But why do I get out of it? Well, you get a home in heaven.

  470. That's what he's promised us for serving.

  471. We get a home in heaven. Do we get all the pain of this

  472. life taken away? No.

  473. We get all the disappointment of this life taken away.

  474. No. Do we get to enjoy ourselves in

  475. this life? Yes.

  476. Does our life have to be miserable in this world?

  477. No it's as miserable as you want to make it.

  478. You can live a sinful life and you can be it just absolutely

  479. make yourself totally miserable. But serving God, we get a home

  480. in heaven, if we surrender ourselves to him.

  481. So what is our priority? Our focus on the kingdom of all,

  482. is a clear perception of where we're going.

  483. We're 62, and Jesus said to him. No, man.

  484. Having put his hand to the plow and looking back is fit for the

  485. kingdom of God. When plowing a farmer has to

  486. keep his eyes on on the work at hand, he has to keep his eye on

  487. the end of the row. and when he looks away instantly stray off

  488. course, And those who look back at their life, their old life.

  489. And not focus on the Kingdom of Heaven, they run off track.

  490. And, you know, when we're, when we do that as well, we're not,

  491. we're not able to help others to stay on track as well, either.

  492. there, we've seen so many people that put their hand to the plow

  493. and then they turn and look back at the old life and start living

  494. that again as well. Or they went back the cell.

  495. This lesson is Illustrated so well in the him.

  496. I surrender all that is so familiar to us.

  497. All to Jesus. I Surrender humbly At His Feet.

  498. I bow worldly pleasures, all forsaken, take me.

  499. Jesus, Take Me Now All to Jesus. I Surrender, Lord, I give myself

  500. to thee. Fill me with thy love and power.

  501. Let thy blessing fall on me. I surrender all, I surrender.

  502. All, all to thee. My blessed savior, I surrender,

  503. all That's not some. that's not when that's not if that's just a

  504. surrender. I surrender all my time.

  505. All my my life, all my Pleasures.

  506. I give up all my wishes, I give up all my desires, I give up my

  507. family, I give up, I give it all to you.

  508. And I Surrender my life to you in service to you. so, the

  509. Christian have we truly surrendered surrendered?

  510. All to God and to the Lost? What is hindering you from

  511. surrendering to Jesus today? Give up your will in complete

  512. submission to God. Quit fighting God, give up to

  513. him. You'll never be happy until you

  514. deny yourself. We can enjoy our walk with the

  515. father until we stop being in opposition to him.

  516. Notice first John, one of her seven, but if we walk in the

  517. light, as he is in the light, we have Fellowship one with another

  518. and the blood of Jesus Christ, his son cleanses us from all

  519. sin. Let me mention a couple quotes

  520. one by aw, Tau Tozer, the reason why many are still troubled,

  521. still seeking still making little forward progress is

  522. because they haven't yet come to the end of themselves.

  523. We're still trying to give give orders and interfere with God's

  524. work within us. And also Rick Warren.

  525. You cannot fulfill God's purpose for your life while focusing on

  526. your own plans. Other words, there's no room for

  527. God. I've had people tell me that

  528. they're, they're worried about their soul.

  529. They seem sometimes feel like they've made no Headway.

  530. They're not making any progress in their life.

  531. They've been thinking about it a lot worrying about it a lot

  532. they've been may be searching the scriptures and and praying

  533. about it receiving Council about it.

  534. But they're still struggling. To correct the things in their

  535. life and get it right? It's very possible that the

  536. reason that they haven't made any progress is because they

  537. haven't just given it over to God, haven't surrendered.

  538. They made a commitment but they didn't surrender to God.

  539. Can we make the statement in conclusion?

  540. This morning, Jeremiah 26 and verse 14.

  541. As for me here I am in your hand do with me as seems good and

  542. right. Let me serve you God.

  543. Let me serve you. Let me surrender my life to you.
