  1. This morning, I want to go through a study.

  2. We're going to jump all over it. Crazy ass, these back and forth.

  3. But hopefully at the end, we kind of bring the book of

  4. Ecclesiastes into focus and I believe it's a very interesting

  5. book, it's really kind of fun to read.

  6. It's it's we've just kind of gone through that with our daily

  7. reading thought, too awful long ago and and I thought I'd pull a

  8. lesson from the archives and and teach on Ecclesiastes, basically

  9. life Under the Sun is what we're going to Notice this morning,

  10. the Book of Ecclesiastes is kind of considered maybe one of the

  11. saddest books because it doesn't, if you just carded kind

  12. of start reading and you focus on the negative things that kind

  13. of brings a lot of sadness to to a person's hard.

  14. But I believe it's easily understood and, and helps us in

  15. our daily Christian Living. The writer seems to speak of

  16. people who teach that materialism.

  17. Is a good thing in life and that man is mortal and will not

  18. exist. Course, after this Earthly life

  19. is over and and to that the motive in life is to gratify

  20. ourselves and and get everything we can out of life.

  21. Because when life is over, were just it's done.

  22. That's all there is to it, it'll end in death but Ecclesiastes

  23. certainly is not a book that we should ignore.

  24. In the materialistic society that we live.

  25. I think it's a good thing to understand the meaning of what

  26. is written in this book and And and the message of course that

  27. the preacher has to say here also with our youth oriented

  28. society that we live in because now in a person's youth, they

  29. are told to just enjoy life and live it up and live for the

  30. moment and feels good, do it and all those kinds of things.

  31. And I believe that it also talks about a person that's older in

  32. life, as well as those that are younger in life and how to focus

  33. on certain things. so, In our introduction to Ecclesiastes in

  34. the Hebrew Bible. The Burke book is called

  35. Coca-Cola. Which means the words of the

  36. preacher. The term suggests one who

  37. gathers people to gather and speaks to an assembly, an

  38. ecclesiastic or a preacher. The translators of the

  39. Septuagint version. Call it Ecclesiastes with AK

  40. instead of a sea Which also means preacher and is derived

  41. from the word, Ecclesia. The author, many believed to be

  42. Solomon when the rider speaks and talks about all the things

  43. that he's done and all the wealth that he's had in the

  44. wisdom and everything like that. It's picture of what we read

  45. about Solomon. What he did there are some that

  46. say, no, it can't be solemn. It's one of David's descendants

  47. and things like that, but for the present time, we will stick

  48. with Solomon or just basically calling the writer if you want

  49. to say. But he's talking about the words

  50. of the preacher. So the author now, ABS the

  51. searches for the meaning in life, and Ecclesiastes, 1 and

  52. 13. And I set my heart to seek and

  53. search out by wisdom, concerning all that is done under Heaven.

  54. This burdensome task God has given to the sons of men by

  55. which they may be exercised. So now the author talks about

  56. this search, And using, and is seeking for, for what there is

  57. in life. And the meaning of life, if you

  58. want to say, the purpose of the book is to make the reader stop

  59. and think about their responsibility to God and living

  60. a higher and Holier life while here in this life on Earth

  61. getting ready for the life beyond the grave.

  62. In other words to the Christian, we understand that there's more

  63. than just this life And the writer is talking about and and,

  64. and, and reflecting on the life that he's lived and trying to

  65. reason out will, if all this is for nothing, then what is their

  66. life? If that's the question.

  67. So Solomon search pertains to life Under the Sun living in

  68. this world. In other words, this phrase life

  69. under the sun Excuse me. Get ahead of myself here.

  70. This phrase life Under the Sun is use 29 times in 27 verses.

  71. So Solomon is looking for, looking at life, from Mostly a

  72. worldly point of view and he says here in first, the first

  73. chapter verse 3, what prophet has a man from all his labor in

  74. which he toils under the sun, So, we work.

  75. We go to work every day. We do everything.

  76. We're supposed to do, and we provide for our families and we

  77. work ourselves crazy and What profit is it for all this toil

  78. and all this hard work under the sun?

  79. So in verse 2, he says, vanity of vanities says the preacher

  80. vanities of vanities all is Vanity.

  81. Now, I'd we just watched the introduction to Ecclesiastes and

  82. I got this last little bit here from that video.

  83. That was posted on the church's Facebook page, and it comes from

  84. the Hebrew word heavily, heavily all is heavily.

  85. No, most English Bibles translate heavily as

  86. meaningless. And is used 38 times in

  87. Ecclesiastes, but it has a deeper meaning that in the

  88. Hebrew, it is translated as Vapor or smoke, and is referring

  89. to something that is temporary and fleeting like a wisp of

  90. smoke. Also, how life is an enigma or a

  91. paradox, like smoke it appears solid, sometimes we can't even

  92. see through it. It's very thick, but if you

  93. grasp at it, there's nothing there.

  94. You can't grab a Of smoke. You can't grab ahold of wind

  95. because there's nothing there. Even though we can see it.

  96. Even though it's something that looks solid, we can grasp at it

  97. and nothing is there. It's futile, it's useless,

  98. meaningless emptiness, figuratively, something

  99. transitory and unsatisfactory unsatisfying since the things of

  100. this world are going to pass away with it.

  101. They are temporary. Of course, this vanity is

  102. referring to life Under the Sun. Notice the 14th.

  103. Verse of chapter one, I have seen all the works that are done

  104. under the sun. And indeed, all is Vanity and

  105. grasping for the wind All the effort one makes in life as far

  106. as this Earthly life is concerned as like a grasping of

  107. the wind or a vexation of spirit of Praise which occurs seven

  108. times and maybe otherwise translated feeding on wind.

  109. Modern Hebrew grammar, grammar translates the word rendered to

  110. fixation a constant, but unsatisfied seeking after

  111. something. The urge for man, always wanting

  112. to go further after knowledge and Earthly things we've seen

  113. people that are driven that are driven after just the things of

  114. this world and they just won't let anything stop them and

  115. that's what he's talking about because they're never satisfied,

  116. the things of this Earth do not satisfy us.

  117. For what we really strive for in life and that is the things that

  118. are higher and Holier in life instead of the things of

  119. temporary. Use on this Earth.

  120. Striving after wind or windy effort chasing the wind, the

  121. preachers message seems to be very negative about life.

  122. The major theme is the vanity of Life vanities use 35 times in

  123. twenty nine verses So keeping all this in mind a chasing after

  124. the wind and the meaninglessness things that we do in life.

  125. Keep that all in mind as we go through this study of

  126. Ecclesiastes. So in verse 3 he says what

  127. prophet hath man of all his labor Strong's says, a defines

  128. that as preeminence or gain, or, in other words, what gain is

  129. there from all of our life here on Earth?

  130. Now, this doesn't mean and all of our hard work here on Earth.

  131. doesn't mean that we all just go out and quit our job because

  132. it's meaningless, That isn't what it means.

  133. But in other words, if we're working after worldly things,

  134. and that's our Focus. And it's vanity.

  135. Then what's the purpose of doing?

  136. All that, what's the purpose of putting importance on those

  137. things? What's the game?

  138. The things of this Earth will come to an end when the earth is

  139. destroyed According to second Peter 2 and verse 10.

  140. Nothing a man Labor's for will be left afterwards.

  141. So no man can get anything more out of life and what he puts

  142. into it. This means that if a man lives

  143. for fleshly things, temporal things only he will have nothing

  144. left at the end because all that will be destroyed.

  145. But the preacher uses such words as joy and rejoice and enjoyment

  146. and joyfully. In his description of things

  147. throughout Ecclesiastes. So there's got to be something

  148. that's good. In fact, the Book of

  149. Ecclesiastes provides us Counsel on how to get the most out of

  150. life to find joy in a life that is filled with vanity or

  151. meaninglessness. If all this is meaningless on

  152. this Earth than where can we find joy?

  153. If its of no value then why are we doing all this?

  154. Notice the second chapter verses 22 through 24 for what has a man

  155. for all his labor and for the striving of his heart with which

  156. he has toiled Under the Sun, for all his days are sorrowful, and

  157. his work burdensome even in the night.

  158. His heart takes no rest. This also is Vanity.

  159. Nothing is better for a man that he should eat and drink.

  160. And that his soul should Rejoice should enjoy good in his labor.

  161. This also, I saw was from the hand of God.

  162. So there's something that is joyful in life.

  163. And we're going to notice more about that to find joy.

  164. We must first face the reality of the vanity of life though.

  165. There's vanity and pleasure Ecclesiastes, 2 and 10.

  166. I said in my heart, come now, I will test you with mirth.

  167. Therefore, enjoy pleasure, but surely this also is Vanity.

  168. There's vanity an Earthly labor Ecclesiastes to an 11, then I

  169. looked on all the work that my hands had done and on the labor,

  170. in which I had toiled. And indeed, all was vanity.

  171. And grasping for the win, there was no profit Under the Sun,

  172. notice for chapter 4 and verse 4.

  173. Again, I saw that for all toil and every skillful work of man

  174. and envied by his neighbor. This also is Vanity and grasping

  175. for the wind their vanity and human wisdom, Ecclesiastes, 2

  176. and verse 15. I said in my heart as it happens

  177. to the fool, it also happens to me.

  178. And why was I then more wise than I said in my heart.

  179. This also is Vanity. There's vanity and all life

  180. please. Yes, he's 2 and 17.

  181. Therefore I hated life because the work that was done under the

  182. sun was distressing to me for all is Vanity and grasping for

  183. the wind. Vanity is.

  184. Leaving leaving an inheritance that second chapter verses 18

  185. through 21. Then I hated all my labor in

  186. which I had toiled under the sun because I must leave it to the

  187. man who will come after me and who knows, whether he will be

  188. wise or a fool yet, he will rule over all my labor and which I

  189. have toiled and in which I have have shown myself.

  190. Why is Under the Sun? This also is Vanity.

  191. I turned my heart and despaired of all the labor wouldn't which

  192. I had toiled Under the Sun. For there is a man whose labor

  193. is with wisdom knowledge and skill that he must leave his

  194. Heritage to a man who has not labored for it.

  195. This also is Vanity and a great evil.

  196. We work hard. And when we die, all of our

  197. labor and all of our assets go on to someone else.

  198. So he says it's meaningless and he talks about the preachers

  199. observations of life that he has lived.

  200. He says, In chapter 3 verses 19 through 21 for what happens to

  201. the sons of men. Also happens to animals one

  202. thing before all's them as one dies.

  203. So dies, the other surely they all have one breath, man.

  204. All has no advantage over animals.

  205. For all is Vanity, all go to one place, all are from the dust and

  206. all return to dust. Who knows?

  207. The spirit of the sons of men, which goes upward in the spirit

  208. of the animal, which goes down. To the Earth, he talks about his

  209. observations of the vanity of crier, acquiring riches over

  210. family. And Chapter 4, verses 7 through

  211. 8, then I returned. And I saw vanity Under the Sun,

  212. there is one alone without companion, he has neither Sun

  213. nor brother. Yet there is no end to all his

  214. Labor's nor is his. I satisfied with riches but he

  215. never asked for whom. Do I Toil and deprive myself?

  216. Of good. This also is Vanity and a grave

  217. misfortune. The vanity of loving, abundance,

  218. fifth chapter and verse 10. He who loves silver will not be

  219. satisfied with silver. Nor he who loves abundance with

  220. increase. This also is Vanity.

  221. The vanity of wealth. Ecclesiastes, 6 and 2.

  222. A man to whom God has given riches and wealth and honor so

  223. that he lacks nothing for himself of all.

  224. He desires yet, God does not give him power to eat of it for

  225. a foreigner consumes it as his vanity and is an evil

  226. Affliction, the vanity of foolish laughter 7:6 for like

  227. the crackling of thorns under a pot.

  228. So is the laughter of the fool. This also is Vanity.

  229. The vanity of Injustice in this life, life is not fair.

  230. Notice 18:14. There is a vanity, which occurs

  231. on Earth that there are just men to whom it happens.

  232. According to the work of the wicked again, there are wicked

  233. men to whom it happens. According to the work of the

  234. righteous, I said that this also is Vanity.

  235. Chapter 9, verses 1 through 3 4. I considered all that is in my

  236. heart so that I could not so that I could declare it all that

  237. the righteous and the wise and their works are in the hand of

  238. God. People know neither love nor

  239. hatred by anything they see before them.

  240. All things come alike to all one event happens to the righteous,

  241. and the wicked to the good, to the clean, and the unclean to

  242. him, who sacrifices and him who does not sacrifice.

  243. As is the good. So is the sinner.

  244. There, he who takes an oath as he who fears an oath.

  245. This is an evil in all that is done under the sun.

  246. That one thing happens to all truly, the hearts of the sons of

  247. men are full of evil Madness, is in their hearts while they live.

  248. And after that, that they go to the Dead.

  249. See, life is not fair, think good things happen to good

  250. people and they happen to bad people.

  251. Bad things happen to good people and they happen to bad.

  252. People talks about the vanity of childhood and youth, therefore

  253. removed sorrow from your heart and put away evil from your

  254. flesh for childhood and youth are vanity.

  255. In other words, there's a time to grow up.

  256. And there's a time to be a child, and some people have a

  257. problem with growing up. But it's in vanity.

  258. So he says he talks about this conclusion, the preachers

  259. conclusion and that stated in verse 1 of chapter 1 and verse

  260. 2. Vanity of vanities, says the

  261. preacher vanity of vanities. All is Vanity, that's what the

  262. start was. Now he goes to verse 14, I have

  263. seen all the works that are done under the sun and behold all is

  264. Vanity and vexation of spirit or grasping for the wind.

  265. Many have come to the same conclusion and followed maybe

  266. into depression, or worried about all the things that go on

  267. in this world, worry about and worry and worry and worry about

  268. everything that goes on in this world.

  269. But the preacher wanted us to learn and know how to find joy

  270. in this life. And you can have joy in your

  271. life in this life. Even with all the things that

  272. are going on around us, we can find joy.

  273. Even though. This world may be so depressing

  274. and meaningless. So, let's notice a little bit

  275. about the joy in life. I get ahead of myself yet.

  276. The preachers experience of Joy. He talks here, he says whatever

  277. my eyes desired. I did not keep from them.

  278. I did not withhold my heart from any pleasure for my heart

  279. rejoiced in all my labor and this was my reward for all my

  280. labor. Nothing wrong with that.

  281. Nah, nothing wrong with being satisfied and having joy in your

  282. hard work. Reward of his labor, was a joy

  283. in doing it. I know that that many of us

  284. don't find joy and in hard work and and getting sore and getting

  285. hot and getting sweaty and and having blisters on your hands

  286. or, or whatever it may be, Sometimes, you know, when we

  287. were kids and our parents told us to go mow the lawn, or to

  288. stack the wood or bring in the wood or chop, the wood or roof

  289. the house, or paint the house or whatever it was, you know, we

  290. had to get several beatings in the meantime to be able to get

  291. those things accomplished. We didn't have fun doing that

  292. but you know as we grow up and we go on and we get a, we get a

  293. job and we get a vocation We can stand back and we can look at

  294. our work and we can find joy in that we can find satisfaction in

  295. that. So he says, in this was my

  296. reward from all my labor. The preachers observations.

  297. About joy and other words he says nothing is better than

  298. enjoying simple things. And what we do The ability to

  299. enjoy what you have and what you do comes from God.

  300. Nothing is better for a man than that, he should eat and drink

  301. and his soul should enjoy good in his labor.

  302. This also I saw was from the hand of God. for who can eat or

  303. who can have enjoyment more than I God, gives wisdom and

  304. knowledge and Joy says for God. And in the second chapter verse

  305. 26, for God, gives wisdom and knowledge and joy to a man who

  306. is good in his sight. But to The Sinner, he gives the

  307. work of gathering and collecting that he may give to him who is

  308. good before God, this also is Vanity and grasping for the wind

  309. man should rejoice and do good. All soaked, lazy ass 23 and

  310. verse 12. I know that nothing is better

  311. than for them than to rejoice and due to do.

  312. Good in their lives. We can find joy in doing good

  313. for others. And for God as well, every man

  314. should enjoy the good of their labor because it is the gift of

  315. God, chapter 3 and verse 13. And also that every man should

  316. eat and drink and enjoy the good of all his labor.

  317. It is the gift of God. The gift of God.

  318. This is the enjoyment of the simple.

  319. Good things in life. Like friendships.

  320. Like a good meal. Like family.

  321. Like a good day. Fishing.

  322. A good day hunting. Good day, playing golf or just

  323. enjoying the scenery and the sunny day and life out maybe in

  324. nature camping, or whatever it may be.

  325. The simple things of life, it doesn't take money to enjoy

  326. God's creation and what God has provided for us.

  327. This is a gift from God. So he goes on to talk in chapter

  328. 3 and verse 22. So I perceive that nothing is

  329. better than that. A man should in rejoice in his

  330. own words. For that is his Heritage for who

  331. can bring him to see what will happen after him.

  332. Again, this is one's Heritage and it's the gift of God.

  333. Notice chapter 5 verses 18 through 20.

  334. Here's what I've seen, it is good and fitting for one to eat

  335. and drink and do. Joy, the good of all his labor

  336. in which he toils under the sun. All the days of his life which

  337. God gives him for. It is his Heritage, as for every

  338. man to whom God has given riches and wealth and given him power

  339. to eat of it to receive his Heritage and rejoice in his

  340. labor. This is the gift of God for he

  341. will not dwell. Unduly in the days of his life

  342. because God keeps him busy with the joy of his heart.

  343. For he shall, he shall not much remember the days of his life,

  344. because God, answereth him and the joy of his heart. even

  345. though, we go through struggles and hard times, we seem to not

  346. remember all those hard times and sadness and difficulties

  347. because of the joy, what we give from sitting back and just

  348. enjoying the simple things of life and rejoicing in the work

  349. of our labor. so, in the day of prosperity, Rejoice.

  350. And in the day of adversity, we stopped.

  351. And we think on God, Notice 7:14 in the day of prosperity would

  352. be joyful but the day of adversity, consider.

  353. Surely God has appointed one, the one, as well as the other so

  354. that man can find out nothing that will come after him.

  355. We take the good and the bad. We should stop and think about

  356. the cause and learn from problems that we've had in

  357. mistakes that we made. Certainly we consider those.

  358. And some of those we created by ourselves for ourselves.

  359. We've made bad choices in life and we pay the cost and we pay

  360. the price for those things and they are joyful.

  361. So we stopped and we think about those things and we pray to God

  362. and we think about Godly things. The one thing is though that we

  363. will not get to keep our possessions after this life.

  364. So he recommends enjoyment of the fruit of one's labor. 8:15.

  365. So I commend enjoyment because a man has nothing better Under the

  366. Sun than to eat drink and be merry for this will remain with

  367. him in his labor, all the days of his life which God gives him

  368. under the sun. Now, that doesn't mean that we

  369. just quit our jobs and we go out and we sit on a Mountaintop and

  370. we just sit there and we don't do anything about that because

  371. we're enjoying God's creation and we don't have any

  372. responsibilities. No, that is not what he's

  373. saying. He's saying, enjoy the fruit of

  374. your labor, enjoy life. It is, as it is given to you,

  375. don't spend all your time and all of your talent and

  376. Everything on gaining things in this world.

  377. So, the preachers conclusion. First, accept that life is not

  378. always fair and we are not in control.

  379. Good things happen to good people, as well as bad people

  380. and bad things. Happen to good people, as well

  381. as bad people, when we actually put our trust in God, we will

  382. learn to accept life the way it is.

  383. And not the way that we think it ought to be.

  384. We all see how other people live their lives and we think that's

  385. the way my life needs to be. That's the way my life ought to

  386. be. No, accept it for what it is,

  387. and go on worry worrying about things that are meaningless and

  388. putting so much importance on them, is a waste of our time and

  389. our energy. Doesn't God doesn't care whether

  390. we're rich or poor, he doesn't care about our status in life.

  391. That doesn't concern him what he concerns, what concerns him and

  392. he's cares about is our service to him.

  393. So he says eat drink and be merry.

  394. He says express your joy and how you live.

  395. He says live joyfully with your wife whom you love.

  396. Enjoy your youth. But remember, you will be

  397. accountable. In Ecclesiastes. 11 verses 9 to

    Ecclesiastes 11:9

  398. 9 through 10 Rejoice, O man in your Youth and let your heart

  399. cheer you in the days of your youth, walk in the ways of your

  400. heart and in the sight of your eyes.

  401. But know, that, for all these, God will bring you into

  402. judgment. Therefore, remove sorrow from

  403. your heart and put away evil from your flesh for childhood

  404. and youth or vanity. It goes on to say, remember your

  405. creator in the days of your youth.

  406. Before the difficult days come and the years draw near when you

  407. say, I have no pleasure in them. so, when you're young, We have

  408. high hopes of everything that we want to accomplish in that we

  409. will be in life. But the life without God is a

  410. life that is void of satisfaction.

  411. There's no pleasure in that life.

  412. True. Pleasure in that life.

  413. There's no satisfaction to the soul, so don't be deceived by

  414. the meaningless things and don't focus on those things that are

  415. of no value. Remember your creator while

  416. you're young? The person that doesn't remember

  417. their creator will make it to the end of the latter part of

  418. their life. They look back on the younger

  419. years. And they look at their life and

  420. they say I had no pleasure, no true pleasure because I didn't

  421. remember my Creator in the days of my youth. as their life's are

  422. coming to an end, if not living a life for God, when that time

  423. comes, The things of life will be of less interest.

  424. You know, when I see older folks, they they have pleasure

  425. in their life because they're looking for something that is

  426. much better than this life. And that's where we get our joy.

  427. They'll have joy in their declining years.

  428. But now this is the conclusion to everything.

  429. The preacher has mentioned in this book.

  430. He says in the 12th chapter and verses 13 through 14.

  431. Let us hear the conclusion to the whole matter, fear God, and

  432. keep his Commandments. For this is man's all or in the

  433. King James version says, this is the duty of man, the whole duty

  434. of, man, A life of living for God will not be meaningless or

  435. like chasing after the wind. This is your whole meaning in

  436. life. This is the conclusion to

  437. everything that the preacher has analyzed and he's looked at his

  438. life and all the labor and all this, but he's done through life

  439. and where had they find Joy? He found joy in God's creation.

  440. He found joy in his hard work and he found joy in the fact of

  441. serving God and keeping him first and obeying his

  442. Commandments. That's where he found.

  443. True Joy. The things of this life, bring

  444. temporary Joy temporary but the things of God bring lasting Joy.

  445. That will last forever. So this is all that counts.

  446. This is all that has any value. This is it.

  447. To serve God, fear God and keep his Commandments.

  448. Then he goes on to say, in verse 14, for God will bring every

  449. work into judgment including every secret secret thing,

  450. whether good or evil. So even though life isn't fair,

  451. even though we think we may got a bad deal even though things

  452. didn't work out for us, the way that we wanted them to Even

  453. though we come up against all kinds of problems in life and

  454. all kinds of hurdles and all kinds of obstructions and people

  455. don't treat us, right? And people don't treat us Fair.

  456. Sometimes we seem like there's no reward for our hard work here

  457. on this Earth and everything that we've done that all of it's

  458. just been for nothing. God will bring every work into

  459. judgment. Do make it fair one of these

  460. days. Absolutely.

  461. For our your life of Living and obeying his Commandments, he

  462. will make it fair for those that decide.

  463. They don't want to live a life of serving God, he will make it

  464. fair, he will bring every work into judgment.

  465. Whether good or evil. So life Under the Sun is Vanity.

  466. There's no meaning to strive for only Earthly things without God.

  467. There is no real meaning in life without God you will not be able

  468. to truly enjoy your time on Earth because you all you're

  469. striving for is Eve Earthly things that have no value life.

  470. Under the Sun, can be filled with joy, though.

  471. Experiencing the joyful, memories of Life, the memories

  472. of family, the memories of loved ones.

  473. The good times, the things that you've enjoyed in life.

  474. With God, guide us in keeping our priorities, in life straight

  475. and with God, to bless us with wisdom, and the ability to enjoy

  476. what good there is in life, to find joy, in the vanity of life.

  477. He says, remember your creator fear God, and keep his

  478. Commandments. Today, that especially means for

  479. us to obey Christ Our Savior and obey the gospel Plan of

  480. Salvation and Obey God's Commandments, Mark 8 verses 34

    Mark 8:34–37

  481. through 37, when he had called the people to himself and his

  482. disciples also he said to them whosoever desires to come after

  483. me let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me for

  484. whosoever desires to save his life, will lose it, but

  485. whosoever loses his life for my sake.

  486. And the gospels will save it for.

  487. What will it profit? A man, if he gains the whole

  488. world and loses his own soul, Or what will a man give in exchange

  489. for his soul? So if this world and all the

  490. striving for things of this world is of no value as

  491. meaningless as like grasping for the wind, And let's place our

  492. importance on things that are meaningful in life.

  493. And following Jesus. Ran across this quick poem that

  494. might Chris will put out it somewhat kind of says a little

  495. bit about it. How our priorities in life are

  496. talk about the Working Farmer. He wasn't ready, Sunday morn,

  497. the cows were lowing needed corn.

  498. A lot of hanging night before done took its toil and made him

  499. sore. So as he lay there in his bed

  500. and random thought ran through his head, if he could miss a

  501. little church, he'd be no longer in the Lurch.

  502. There'd be more time for him to do the daily chores that made

  503. him stew. And so with pillow under her

  504. head he closed his eyes and hugged his bed with blanket,

  505. soft and covers. I'm the church.

  506. Could wait, no one would mourn. No need for him to rush to

  507. prayer show up next week. No one will care hid toss a bit

  508. more in the plate, an extra five would expedite.

  509. Expiate his conscience, pure would praise.

  510. The more today was his to snooze and snore.

  511. And so it was down on the farm, the Lord's Day passed, without

  512. alarm more weeks rolled around, like, pretty please and bent his

  513. back, but not his knees. The day once his now his became

  514. and dodging Church became his game but soon he felt the toils

  515. of Life. His heart was fraught with awful

  516. Strife to one dark night with great alarm.

  517. He set things, straight down on the farm.

  518. He went to bed ahead of time and woke up before the morning

  519. chime, he milked the cows and slop the Hogs, he gathered eggs

  520. and fed the dogs, he even found the time to pray a custom new to

  521. start the day. Then by and by as And a pass, he

  522. knew his faith was back at last and as he mused, it finally

  523. came. So to the wind and reap life

  524. Spain. so, the life of doing things, for our pleasure, doing

  525. things that are comfortable doing things that please us Four

  526. things here on this Earth. Have no value.

  527. Serving God has value. Has joy and pleasure.

  528. We enjoy the things God has left to us and the work of our hands

  529. and our hard labor. We enjoy those things here on

  530. Earth but that's all temporary and goes away, but serving God

  531. is forever. And will bring true Joy.
