  1. Greetings, everyone. It is a joy to be here with you.

  2. It's been several years since we've been here in a meeting.

  3. I love the brethren and sisters of this congregation.

  4. It's been a joy over the course of the last 20 years or more to

  5. be here for revival meetings. And it's just a tremendous

  6. pleasure that I have to be back in this particular year, this

  7. particular year on my. Part.

  8. It's my 49th year of been a four time gospel preacher.

  9. I started when I was 17. I let you do the math and then

  10. we'll figure this all out. What is written on the board

  11. tonight is very important. It's about salvation.

  12. I'm a firm believer that people need to understand salvation, to

  13. appreciate it and to commit to it.

  14. You know, we sing a song periodically.

  15. Lord, I commit my life to thee. Take it and make it thy own.

  16. Another song we have sung through the years is have thine

  17. own way. Lord, have thine own way.

  18. You know, thou or the Potter, not the clay.

  19. I love these type of songs because they encourage us in

  20. every way to love the Lord enough that He's first and

  21. foremost in our life. And nothing is more important

  22. than our service to the Lord. Nothing is more important than

  23. that. Nothing is more important than

  24. when you die or I die. That we go to heaven.

  25. Nothing is more important than that.

  26. And therefore today we're going to lay the groundwork on which

  27. we plan to build the remainder of this meeting over, and we're

  28. going to talk about salvation and the benefits we have of

  29. salvation and the consequence if we don't.

  30. Now we need to know the good that makes us feel good, but we

  31. need to know the bad that should make us do good, because it's

  32. not good. The bad is not good, but the

  33. good is really, really positive. Therefore we have many

  34. scriptures on the board. I'll throw in another segment of

  35. verses along the way, but I ask of you to pay extremely close to

  36. the scriptures. And the book, chapter and verse

  37. of scripture is where we can spend these Nets.

  38. The Lord be willing, the Nets sit sermons tonight through

  39. Saturday, two of the Lord's day. We're going to study the Bible,

  40. the Bible, through reading and studying the Bible, and you and

  41. me obeying the Bible. Salvation is all ours, and that

  42. is what is so important. I appreciated the prayers of

  43. this congregation already during this meeting.

  44. I love the songs. I learned from these songs

  45. tonight. A couple of them I didn't know

  46. real well, I heard maybe many years ago, but it's just

  47. wonderful to have songs of praise and honor to God.

  48. It is so wonderful to hear brother and pray to the almighty

  49. God leading the congregation in prayer for our brothers and our

  50. sisters, directing us to the throne of grace.

  51. Isn't it so good that God said, listen, I want you to come

  52. boldly, boldly unto the throne of grace, to to know that we can

  53. do that. You can't do that to Donald

  54. Trump. You can't do that in politician

  55. around unless you're a very unique guy or lady that has a

  56. special connection and a special life.

  57. You can't do that to politicians.

  58. You have a hard enough time doing that with your doctor to

  59. call and get him on the line. You may get a, you know, $10.00

  60. an hour waitress or somebody or somebody talking to you or

  61. receptionist or whoever you may be.

  62. I just want you to know you can pray.

  63. Directly to your father, only as a baptized believer.

  64. Baptize believer to be able to say our Father, which art in

  65. heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy Kingdom come, thy will be

  66. done in earth as it is in heaven.

  67. Give us this day Our Daily Bread.

  68. Forgive us our death as we forgive our debtors.

  69. Lead us not into temptation. Deliver us from evil for thine

  70. as the Kingdom, the glory of the power forever.

  71. Amen. Matthew's account of what is

  72. generally considered the model prayer.

  73. It's equally considered that in Luke 11 verses one through 5 or

  74. so I do want you to love the Lord enough that everything the

  75. Lord wants you to do you want to get first in line to go do it

  76. because your spiritual life is more important than anything

  77. else or anybody else. Very, very important.

  78. So therefore, I look forward to our study throughout this week.

  79. We have several topics. I brought a a notebook full of

  80. sermons and I thought, well, maybe that's not enough.

  81. I've got my second notebook and filled it up and it's OK.

  82. Here we go. We're ready to roll for these

  83. six sermons and this gospel meeting tonight through Rorschet

  84. afternoon, as you see on the board the title of salvation.

  85. But can I ask you a question briefly, please?

  86. That is simply this. What is it?

  87. What is salvation? I'm not asking anybody to speak

  88. of any word during the lesson, Even where during the meeting,

  89. if I ask you a question, it's just for you to ponder.

  90. I'll give you a second along the way to do that.

  91. But what is salvation? Salvation is speaking to human

  92. beings like you and like me, to save us.

  93. From sin and its consequences and to make us right with God.

  94. My dear friends, listen. That is the ultimate to be right

  95. with the Lord and to save us from sin.

  96. You know what sin would do. Old Testament and not written on

  97. the board. I know several of you've written

  98. these notes down and you're welcomed.

  99. After service is over, you're welcome.

  100. Come snap a picture. All across the country, people

  101. do that on a regular basis. That's fine, whatever you want

  102. to do. But do you know what sin does?

  103. And Isaiah, the 59th chapter, verses one and two.

  104. The Bible says, behold, the Lord's hand is not shortened,

  105. that he cannot save and nither is his ear heavy that he cannot

  106. hear, he said. But your sins have separated

  107. between you and your God. Salvation is how human beings

  108. like me and you get rid of our sins because the consequences of

  109. sin. It separates us.

  110. From God. That's in your Bible.

  111. I don't hear what translation you're reading after whatever

  112. your translation of choice is. And I preach from the King James

  113. primarily, New King James periodically.

  114. And there's some other translation I may bring in a

  115. passage to. It doesn't matter which

  116. translation. The bottom line is, I want you

  117. to know in your mind, in your heart, and your efforts to do

  118. the right thing and to be committed to the Almighty God,

  119. that my sins will separate me from.

  120. God. And therefore I'm going to stay

  121. away from sin and if I have sinned in my life and I'm going

  122. to get rid of my sins. That's the way Christians should

  123. do live and act. Therefore, let's take a look at

  124. something point #1. By the way, I don't feel the

  125. bored most every night of something, but I don't want you

  126. to get worried about me forgetting time.

  127. I know you work, you have kids, you go to school and all that.

  128. I'm going to preach awhile and then I'm going to quit for 23

  129. 1/2 hours. I'm going to come back in here

  130. and do it all over. Again.

  131. But I I'll be preaching 30 to 40 minutes.

  132. That's about all I'm going to preach the majority of the time.

  133. There may be a time or two I go take it off, but it'll be over

  134. the weekend so I may give myself another 15.

  135. Minutes or so, but I'll be mindful of the timetable.

  136. OK, OK, Now let's take a look here, the Great Commission.

  137. Now what is? The Great Commission.

  138. It is a Commission that is great.

  139. It's not called great, but it's called great in our hearts and

  140. our minds that our preach it because it is.

  141. Great. There have been different times

  142. throughout the Scriptures that people were told they were sent

  143. out to by twos to evangelize, and at times preachers, the

  144. apostles and elders, and different ones had a variety of

  145. work. But in the Great Commission we

  146. find it recorded in Matthew the 28th chapter, verses 18 through

  147. 20. Jesus gave these words the Son

  148. of God, your Lord, your Savior, our greatest friend, He said.

  149. All power Speaking of himself, is given to me in heaven and in

  150. earth. Go therefore, and teach all

  151. nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the

  152. Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them verse 20 to

  153. observe all things what serve I've commanded you and Lord.

  154. I am with you always, even unto the end of the world, to you

  155. that are taking notes to you that have fallen agenda minds.

  156. I want you to remember one very important principle that's just

  157. the second later. On I want you to remember

  158. another important principle, but just right here we got one major

  159. I want you to remember. Matthew 28 and verse 19 is the

  160. only time in the entire New Testament that it teaches the

  161. baptism in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy

  162. Spirit. If you have been baptized at

  163. some point in your life, and I know majority of you no doubt

  164. have, but if you've been baptized at some point, I just

  165. want you to reflect back, was I baptized into the name of the

  166. Father, the Son of the Holy Spirit?

  167. Jesus said I want you in the Great Commission.

  168. I want you to go to all the world.

  169. I want you to preach the gospel to every creature.

  170. That's a lot, a lot of people. You know why?

  171. There's a lot of lost souls and Jesus said I want you to

  172. baptize. Teach them the apostles.

  173. I want you to baptize them in the name of the Father, Son, and

  174. Holy Spirit. Other passes, Scripture says for

  175. their mission of your sins. Another passage arise and wash

  176. away your sins. I want you to know something.

  177. This is really. Really important.

  178. Every person here, we have to be baptized for the mission of sins

  179. in the name of Jesus Christ. In the name of the Father, the

  180. Son, and the Holy Spirit. That's a right baptism.

  181. It's a burial and water. It has been very enjoyable

  182. throughout the years, have been conversation and Bible studies

  183. with a lot of people. And along the way that you find

  184. people that have been baptized, right?

  185. And they're well, they're confident.

  186. They come right in there like a bullet in China hutch.

  187. And they're ready to let me know exactly how it is.

  188. And they're right and I'm wrong. I think I said I'm, I'm eager,

  189. willing and ready to learn. So you show me the Bible, your

  190. baptism, and I'll show you in the Bible what I believe the

  191. Bible teach you and we'll compare notes.

  192. Well all of a sudden the conversation comes through and

  193. it screeches in hawk. I'm read over here with all my

  194. Bible verses and they're they're thinking.

  195. They say, well the preacher didn't tell us where it was.

  196. It just said, the Bible said, well let me tell you what,

  197. sometimes us preachers can be wrong.

  198. I want you to go after the scriptures and you look in the

  199. Bible. The Bible said it this way.

  200. Acts 17 to verse 11. The Bible said, I want you to

  201. search the Scriptures daily to make sure these are things are

  202. so Christians. I want you to check up on me

  203. every lesson, every step, every book, chapter in verse.

  204. I want you to look at these verses of scripture as we go

  205. along throughout this lesson and all the lessons throughout the

  206. meeting. And I want you to search out the

  207. Scriptures and you make sure that what I teach is true

  208. according to the Bible. And you're committing yourself

  209. to the Lord. You say, let's the Lord I'm you.

  210. Speak, Lord, like Samuel Lavoe. He says, speak, Lord, thy

  211. servant here at the command, Lord, I'll obey.

  212. That's the kind of a commitment level we need.

  213. Then, Lord, you tell me what? Then I'm going to do it.

  214. So what verse? Not nobody speaking up.

  215. What verse teaches Father, Son, Holy Spirit, Baptism.

  216. It's Matthew 28, verse 19. Commit that to memory, because

    Matthew 28:19

  217. you're not finding any other verse.

  218. Now you are going to find in the book of Acts.

  219. Baptize the name of the Lord in the name of the Lord Jesus in

  220. the name of God. What?

  221. They got you or nothing you're going to find.

  222. But let me tell you what those phrases in the name of means by

  223. the authority. Of.

  224. And how? What is the authority that Jesus

  225. gave us to baptize? He said Baptized the name of the

  226. Father, Son, Holy Spirit. So see, it's all baptized,

  227. right? But it's got to be like Jesus

  228. said and your commitment and your entire life to teach other

  229. people, not only yourself, but teaching other people.

  230. Is to help. Them do the right thing, The

  231. right way. OK, let's look again.

  232. Mark 16, verse 15 and 16. Same account of the Great

    Mark 16:15

  233. Commission being given by Jesus. This is after the death, the

  234. bearer and the resurrection of Jesus.

  235. This is the time that Jesus was given.

  236. As a matter of fact, let me tell you this way.

  237. You know where Matthew 28 quit? That's the last chapter of

  238. Matthew. And you know where Mark 16 quit.

  239. And also Luke 24. You know where they all quit.

  240. They quit right before Acts one starts so you can read and study

  241. your Bible. And when you get through reading

  242. Matthew 28, you could turn over to Acts One and pick up right

  243. where you left off. Same thing as Mark.

  244. Such thing. Same thing.

  245. Luke 20. 4. Therefore, when you read the

  246. Mark 16, Jesus is saying to the people, he said, go into all the

  247. world, preach the gospel to every creature.

  248. He that believeth is baptized shall be saved.

  249. He that believes not shall be damned.

  250. Wow, what a difference. See, we today need to do

  251. everything we can to do one or two things.

  252. Well, number one is saving our self.

  253. I'm talking more about this later on in tonight's lesson #2

  254. is to help save other people. And the way to do that is

  255. teaching them to be safe. And listen, I'll tell you what's

  256. not enough. I'll be very honest, very frank.

  257. I'm a I'm a very to the point kind of guy.

  258. And that is, it's not enough for you to ask somebody are you

  259. saved? You know what?

  260. They're going to saved. Yeah, most people, Yeah, yeah,

  261. I'm saved. Well.

  262. Well, have you been baptized? Not enough.

  263. That's still not enough. But it's OK.

  264. You start off there. Have you been baptized?

  265. Most people. Oh, yeah, Yeah.

  266. You know what? The questions that you need to

  267. ask. I love person work nearly as

  268. much as Frank, right? Yeah, he loves it.

  269. He loves it a whole lot. I love it a whole lot too.

  270. I may be 1 notch below him. He's great.

  271. I've seen him do his work and it's fabulous.

  272. But still, together, we can accomplish a lot.

  273. And here's what is so important. Do you know what is important

  274. here when you look at Mark 16 verse 15 and 16 to let people

    Mark 16:15

  275. know the right question? We need to ask Please make a

  276. record of this in your mental record or in your written

  277. record. And that is simple this.

  278. Have you been baptized with the Baptism of the Great Commission?

  279. That's the right question. They're related to the world

  280. today. They're taught to sprinkle water

  281. on people, calling it a baptism. And that young person that

  282. sometimes only six weeks old, they're going to raise up men

  283. and talk, Yeah, you're baptized. Yeah, you're baptized.

  284. But. Then tell you what.

  285. If you're not baptized by the baptism of Great Commission,

  286. you're not baptized scripturally, so it didn't even

  287. get. You need to think everybody for

  288. yourself. Have I obtained salvation the

  289. way God intended? All right, let's look at Luke

  290. 24. You go look what you know what

  291. you look. You look at every.

  292. List you can of the Great Commission.

  293. Here's what you're going to find.

  294. Here's what you're not going to find majority of the time.

  295. I have looked at more than I can even count right now.

  296. Matthew and Mark when you can, people say the Great Commission.

  297. Matthew 28, Mark 16th You hardly ever see Luke 24.

  298. Let me tell you what Luke 24 verse 46 and 47 is just as much

    Luke 24:46

  299. a Great Commission as Matthew 28 and Mark 16.

  300. Furthermore, Lou's account of the Great Commission.

  301. It includes information, valuable information that

  302. Matthew, Mark do not even include and with the same

  303. breath. I want to say Matthew and Mark

  304. include things Luke doesn't include.

  305. That is the reason when you're studying a topic, before you go

  306. drawing a premature conclusion, you want to gather all these

  307. verses and thoughts together. Then draw your conclusion.

  308. Just like on the communion, you want to find out what Matthew

  309. Mark, Luke, Acts 2, Acts 20 and 1st Corinthian 10 and 1st

  310. Corinthian 11 teaches about the communion before drawing your

  311. conclusion. See, when you gather it all

  312. together, then you got everything God said about it for

  313. us. And that's what's important for

  314. salvation. In order for us to have

  315. salvation, we've got to look at Luke 24.

  316. Now what does Luke 24 teach? Number one, it teaches us all

  317. began at Jerusalem. You don't see that in Matthew

  318. nor Mark. You see it in Luke.

  319. It says beginning at Jerusalem. I've heard many gospel preachers

  320. preach great sermons on beginning at Jerusalem.

  321. And this is what it's all about, that the church was established

  322. at Jerusalem. This is where the first gospel

  323. sermon was preached, that people had the opportunity to obey.

  324. I used to say that immaterial prematurely, you know.

  325. What do you mean? Well, here's what I meant.

  326. I used to say this is the first gospel sermon of Acts 2 that's

  327. ever been preached. That was wrong.

  328. That was not accurate, but. Because I can show you a whole

  329. list of verses where John the Baptist and Jesus preached the

  330. gospel of the Kingdom, so that what was not that was incorrect

  331. of me to say this is the first. Time in Acts 2.

  332. But it is the first time the gospel was preached that people

  333. have the opportunity to obey. Now that part's right.

  334. And this is so wonderful. Did you know who that first

  335. summer was preached? In Acts 2 the the baptism of the

  336. Great Commission was preached. And do you know what about 3000

  337. people, according to Acts 242. Obeyed the gospel.

  338. That's what we need to do, give people something solid to hang

  339. on to and people are willing to commit to what they know is

  340. right. And what we know is right is

  341. book Matthew, chapter 28, verses 18 through 20.

    Matthew 28:18–20

  342. Same with Mark, same with Luke. So now what we know is that the

  343. Lord's church is established in Jerusalem.

  344. First time the gospel of preach that people can obey it and

  345. about 3000 people obeyed it. No wonder 47 of Acts 2.

  346. The very last verse of Acts 2, it says praising God and have in

  347. favor with all the people and the Lord added to the church

  348. daily such as should be saved. The Lord has added your name to

  349. the church daily on a regular. Basis such as should be saved.

  350. Now, Christians, has the Lord added you to the church?

  351. He had. If you obey the gospel and done

  352. the right thing, now have you made the commitment to follow

  353. Him? And you're going to let nothing

  354. get in your way. Hey, let's go back.

  355. We can find out. Matthew 28 and 20.

  356. You remember the father sent home the Spirit verse 19.

  357. Now verse 20. Heath, I want you to teach

  358. people to observe all things whatsoever.

  359. I have commanded you. I've had people all over this

  360. country. They say, Adam, what do you

  361. think would be good to teach Somebody once elevated the

  362. gospel. I go, well, that's your.

  363. Heart. Matthew 2820 nineteen says how

  364. to baptize them and verse 20 said now teach them to observe

  365. all things. What survive commanded you?

  366. So you opened up the Bible to the.

  367. Words of the Jesus and the words of the gospel.

  368. You began to teach what Jesus taught, my friend.

  369. It's easy to get behind that. It's easy to get behind and thus

  370. set the Lord and do what the Lord said to do.

  371. There's so much on the Great Commission.

  372. I absolutely love it. But I'll tell you what I really

  373. believe. It's why it's called the Great

  374. Commission. Now you can take this or leave

  375. it. That's your choice and but you

  376. can briefly mention I'm not going to in depth but if you

  377. have a question feel free to ask after we dismiss Jesus had

  378. earlier told the apostles go to the Jews don't bother go to the

  379. Gentiles right now. There wasn't a time for.

  380. Them right now. But he's limited where they

  381. should go. But now by that too, it was all

  382. the world, every nation, every creature.

  383. We read those in scripture, Matthew, Mark, and.

  384. Luke But at the time, earlier he said, I want you to go to the

  385. Jews and we'll take care of the others a little bit later.

  386. But now the Great Commission was it was an unlimited message

  387. everybody in the whole world going.

  388. To tell you something, we have people who go to all, all over

  389. the world preaching the gospel, all over the place.

  390. And let me tell you what the same thing they preach in

  391. America. They preach over there because

  392. they want people to be saved over there just like they are

  393. here and giving them good chapter and verse.

  394. And I want you today, I want you to get your handle on this

  395. situation. I want you to know good chapter,

  396. verse of what you believe, why you believe it, where it's

  397. located in scripture. Don't.

  398. I don't want you here. I say this or I say that or I

  399. believe this. I believe that.

  400. No, no. You say Jesus said, the apostle

  401. said. The Bible says.

  402. Now when you do that, you've got something that you can hang on

  403. to and you can show people here's how to reach salvation.

  404. All right, number two, first written in three, verse 60.

  405. This is so important. This deserved my whole lesson.

  406. Of any of these one point well, but I want to bring them all

  407. together because I've got a lot I want to say.

  408. And the next 5 sermon plus tonight here we find the First

  409. Corinthians. The Bible teaches me right here

  410. Chapter 3 and verse 6 when you're speaking evangelism.

  411. He said I have planted. Paul said I have planted.

  412. Apollo says watered God gives the increase.

  413. Congregation and church leaders. I know they've asked a lot of

  414. people, and I know I've been asked plenty of time.

  415. Why does some congregation, they just grow, grow, grow.

  416. Other congregations shrivel, shrivel, shrivel.

  417. Why does some congregation go and grow and others just don't

  418. get around getting it done? Tell you why?

  419. Because some congregation plant and water, I promise you this.

  420. I promise you, if we as an individual and as a

  421. congregation, if we were plant, we water, the Bible said God

  422. will bring the increase. If we do our part, God can do

  423. this for it. No.

  424. If no, as no buts, God will do his part.

  425. Now my question is, are you going to do your part and I can

  426. do my part. It's our job to plant and to

  427. water. You know, today you may plant

  428. the seed, I may water. It.

  429. But tomorrow I may plant the seed and you can water it so we

  430. can work together as a team. You know they went two by two.

  431. The lot in New Testament, especially in the book of Acts.

  432. God will bring the increase. If we're planting, we water now.

  433. Congregation don't like me saying this.

  434. However, if they're not planting and they're not watering, they

  435. don't get an increase. But if you're planting water,

  436. you don't let anybody steal your Thunder.

  437. Don't let anybody steal your joy.

  438. That is the joy of your salvation.

  439. You know when you're. Excited about something?

  440. You know, you get your new set of wheels, you get your new

  441. threads and something new clothes you want to wear.

  442. You got a new job. You're whatever you're doing and

  443. it's really exciting to you. Do you know what you're going to

  444. talk about it? Well, you're excited about the

  445. new car, the new house, new clothes, the new jobs, this or

  446. that. Let me tell you what, That's

  447. all. That's fine.

  448. No problem whatsoever. I want you to tell people about

  449. your salvation when you got it, how you got it, what it took to

  450. obey the gospel and encourage them to do the same thing.

  451. See, the more people that you're able to lead to Christ, the more

  452. committed you're going to be. Did you know that the more you

  453. have to assist, maybe the more you plant, the more you water

  454. and you see that man or that woman Obey the gospel and

  455. baptism. Do you know what?

  456. You're going to stay in the defense of them.

  457. You're going to help them. You're going to help them go to

  458. heaven. Therefore, everyone of you here.

  459. What? What?

  460. However long you've been to the church, you know, I've been in

  461. church over 50 years. Significantly over 50, actually.

  462. Not that I look over or anything, but you know how it

  463. goes. Listen, it's so important for

  464. you today to make every effort to tell people why the church is

  465. important, salvation, how, how to obtain it.

  466. You want to share it with them because you want them to be

  467. saved. That is how we really get truly

  468. committed. Now here's what the Bible says I

  469. planted upon this water and God brings the increase.

  470. Now I don't want anybody to speak up.

  471. But have you planted the seed lately?

  472. Have you watered what somebody else planted what you've got?

  473. Unique here, you've got a congregation of very skilled and

  474. talented brethren and sister who know how to teach the gospel.

  475. You've got some good planters. And you've got some good.

  476. Waterers. And I'll promise you this,

  477. You've got a good God who can bring the increase.

  478. It is so wonderful. And it works.

  479. It's worth. This is God's plan.

  480. I didn't make this up. That's why I write down the

  481. passage here. All I'm doing is telling you

  482. what the passage said and welcoming you to turn it in your

  483. preference of translations. All right, Luke #3, you've got

  484. an eternal soul. Salvation for your eternal soul,

  485. don't you? Look carefully.

  486. Please, Matthew 16 and 26, listen to what Jesus said.

  487. I don't mind saying don't worry about what I say.

  488. What does Jesus say? Jesus said, What is the profit,

  489. my brethren, if you gain the whole world, but you lose your

  490. own soul? If you gain all the money in the

  491. world, it's not worth your soul. If you lie, you cheat, you curse

  492. your your, immoral, your whatever.

  493. Or if I am, whatever. Listen, it's nothing is worth

  494. our return soul, And Jesus said it so broadly.

  495. If there's nothing I can say any bigger or better than him, he

  496. said, What have you gained? What have you profited in the

  497. King James Version? What have you profited if you

  498. gained the whole world? But you lose your own soul?

  499. Dear friends, you can't afford to lose your soul.

  500. You can give this one chance and one chance only, and when you

  501. die, you're going to face the good Lord.

  502. In the Judgment Day, the Bible said it's supported.

  503. A man wants. To die Hebrew 9 and 27 after

  504. this is judgment. Oh, it's very important that we

  505. live a faithful and dedicated life, showing our commitment to

  506. the Lord in every way, letting nothing get in our way.

  507. And we do what we know is right now, when you look at this, you

  508. don't want to lose your soul so that I don't want you to ever,

  509. ever compromise your spiritual value because of job,

  510. relationships, hobbies, or nothing.

  511. Nothing in this world is worth losing your soul over.

  512. OK the other one now and James one and 21 James one.

  513. James is the brother of Jesus and he said lay apart all

  514. filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness.

  515. That's that just simply means that we need to get rid of all

  516. this crud out of our life. Modern day vernacular,

  517. superfluity of naughtiness and receive with meekness.

  518. Here comes the engrafted word which is able to save your soul.

  519. Now we all have a choice. We can save our soul.

  520. We can lose our soul. But here's what I promise you.

  521. I promise you can do one or the other.

  522. You're going to save it or you're going to lose it.

  523. Your soul. You've only got one, and you've

  524. only got one chance during your life to do the right thing and

  525. obey the gospel. You can save your soul or lose

  526. it. Which one you're going to do?

  527. Jesus taught us. Jesus, the brother taught us.

  528. You're going to lose it or you're going to save it.

  529. Now, friend, I want you to do the right thing.

  530. I want you to save your soul, and I want you to have other

  531. people be saved. We can get back here, right

  532. here, very next one. Number four, First Timothy 4 and

  533. verse 16. You know, I I just love passages

  534. as a preacher, as an evangelist. I love reading First Timothy,

  535. Second Timothy, and Titus because it's Paul teaching a

  536. young preacher how to preach and what to preach, when to preach.

  537. It all kind of great things. When you look at First Timothy,

  538. you say exactly, without any doubt or any questions at all.

  539. You see exactly what the Bible says.

  540. And I love it here, because you take heed unto thyself.

  541. Oh, he's got my attention. Continue in them.

  542. For in doing this you have saved yourself, and them to hear thee

  543. Take heed. What unto the doctrine.

  544. Take heed into the doctrine number one.

  545. Continue in it #2 and if you do this, you'll save yourself and

  546. you'll save others. Dear friend, I don't know other

  547. than. When you were.

  548. Saved any better time you're going to feel about?

  549. Salvation than when you help save somebody else.

  550. That is such a warm, fuzzy, enjoyable feeling when you're

  551. you're instrumental even a little bit.

  552. You told somebody where the church was.

  553. You know, I was in the airport, and I like to get to the airport

  554. early. I'm one of those strange guys.

  555. I thought I liked to get there a couple hours early and I I like

  556. to settle there where I'm going to leave from in.

  557. In this case, it's in Dallas, TX, it's in Terminal C and it

  558. was K #26. So I figured everybody hovering

  559. around there must be going to Bakersfield.

  560. Well, I just thought several people need to know.

  561. I was coming here to hold a meeting.

  562. Bakersfield, you know, I thought that.

  563. Are you going to Bakersfield? Oh, yeah.

  564. Are you going to like where you live?

  565. Are they just a shop over? Do you go somewhere?

  566. But most everybody I talk to know that's where we live.

  567. I go, do you know where Plains Rd. is?

  568. And began to talk to them. They said, now I'm going there

  569. to hold a revival meeting. Oh, you're a preacher.

  570. Yes, I'm a preacher. And then began.

  571. To talk scripture. And I got to talk scripture with

  572. a lot of people. That's because I was that early

  573. and people could understand and and some people may have thought

  574. I was weird, as strange or something, but I felt like I've

  575. done some personal work. That's why it's important.

  576. Because, see, we want to help our self and be safe and we want

  577. to help others. Because listen, believe it or

  578. not, but you might be the only one, the only true New Testament

  579. Christian they ever. Meet Wow.

  580. That's hard to imagine, I know, but it's true.

  581. You might be Dallas, TX you know, I know a lot of people fly

  582. in and fly out hundreds of thousands a day.

  583. But up to what? These big towns, even your town?

  584. I know this was before it was coming to land.

  585. I could say all the lights of the bed.

  586. Bakersfield has grown since the last time I was here and I just

  587. saw all these lights. About I don't know 9 thirtyish

  588. or what, I'm not sure what time exactly.

  589. But, you know, I got to think of why There's a lot of people

  590. here, a lot of souls like you who've been saved because you've

  591. obeyed the gospel and you find that scripture placed the worst.

  592. Wow, that's wonderful. A lot of people out here don't

  593. have a clue. The guy that ended upset by me?

  594. Oh, he because I had. My book and my Bible and my

  595. information open and I was just reading and kind of minding my

  596. own business, believe it or not. And he said.

  597. Oh, you're reading the Bible? Oh, yes.

  598. I am a fellow. You're a Christian.

  599. Well, yeah. After what'd you do to be a

  600. Christian? And that's like I did.

  601. I didn't know about the study. He didn't really want to know

  602. how. He didn't really know how he

  603. became a Christian. Well, I don't really know.

  604. But I'm really. I'm a, I'm a really good.

  605. Well, good for you. What are you doing with the

  606. Christian life? Well, my preacher said I need to

  607. read this book. What book is it?

  608. One of the Old Testament book. I said the Old Testament's great

  609. and it's a learning for us. And I explained this very

  610. briefly. I wanted to get back to how he

  611. became a Christian. I said, do you live in

  612. Bakersfield? Yeah, I did.

  613. I live in Bakersfield. I said, do you know where Plants

  614. Rd. is? And we've been talking about the

  615. church here. And I said I've been here

  616. before. I've got many good friends here.

  617. They said, I feel when I go to Bakersfield and I want to

  618. worship, I want to go to this congregation because this a

  619. congregation that follows the Bible and it stays true to the

  620. word, wild and so wonderful on many other I can tell you, but

  621. that's not about me. It's about the gospel being

  622. spread. It's so important.

  623. So loose your lips, loose your tongue.

  624. Practice telling people what to do to be saved.

  625. You'll save yourself. You'll say about the first

  626. Timothy 416. It's just a dynamic passage.

  627. OK, let's look at #5 Resurrection.

  628. Oh my, the resurrection, John 5. And you can note verse 28 and

  629. 29. The Bible says marvel not at

  630. this, for the hour cometh which all that in the grave shall hear

  631. his voice. Thus 28 Marvel 9th.

  632. Don't marvel what I've said or what I've done.

  633. I want you to be aware of the fact there's been a

  634. resurrection, a resurrection of life in John 529 or a

  635. resurrection of damnation. John Five in 29.

  636. Same verse John 529. See what kind of resurrection we

  637. can all be raised in the final day.

  638. And the resurrection you look in your Bible, it's there.

  639. John 529. Resurrection of life that's

  640. going to heaven. Resurrection of damnation that's

  641. going to hell. I do what this should make us

  642. all, me and you, so committed to fighting Satan, fighting sin,

  643. fighting evil. We let nobody, nobody and

  644. nothing get in our way. Because if we die faithfully,

  645. Revelation 2 and 10 the latter part of the passage be thou

  646. thankful unto death, I'll give their crown of life.

  647. Now, I'll be very frank with you.

  648. Sometimes me and others have perhaps misapplied the original

  649. intent of the writer in Revelation 210, but it's it's

  650. not a terrible myth, but it's just not exactly, in my

  651. judgment, what John had in mind when he pinned these words.

  652. Now what Revelation 210 talks about tribulation and trials and

  653. difficulties. But the only part of the verse.

  654. And then he said, Be thou faithful unto a death.

  655. So he wanted a commitment out of him.

  656. You be faithful unto death, meaning that you love the Lord

  657. so much in your Christian life that you will suffer yourself to

  658. be murdered or to die. For the Kingdom of God's sake,

  659. be faithful unto death, meaning that you're willing to give your

  660. life for the Lord. Are you that?

  661. Committed. I want you to know you give your

  662. life for the Lord. The Lord gave his for you.

  663. You give yours for him. Be faithful unto death, even to

  664. the point of giving your life. Yes, it's OK.

  665. If you say replication to intensive be faithful the day

  666. you die, no problem. But that's not what the intent

  667. of the writer is. What the intent is.

  668. If I want you to be faithful, even the point of giving your

  669. life for the Lord, and he said I will, you will receive a crown

  670. of life. Well, that's what I want.

  671. I will crown of life. And it's going to work that way.

  672. So therefore, whether you like it, whether you don't, you're

  673. going to be resurrected. If you die before the Lord comes

  674. back, I'm going to be resurrected.

  675. If I die before the Lord comes back mid-december, they wondered

  676. if I was going to live or die. I lived mid January, back at the

  677. operating table. They didn't know if I could live

  678. or die, but I lived. The Lord went through with me

  679. again. I really wasn't through.

  680. I really know I want to go to heaven, but I just wasn't ready

  681. to go right there, you know what I mean?

  682. I wanted to wait. I wanted to go.

  683. But I want to work first. I've got work I want to.

  684. Do the Lord sparing me, says I, Brother Frank in this prayer.

  685. I sincerely appreciate Brother Frank's prayer.

  686. It made a difference in our life.

  687. I thought, man, if if I can't praise him now, I just can't

  688. imagine I've done that all my life.

  689. But I was baptized at 10 years old.

  690. I've had 10 sermons. I was ready to go.

  691. I'm my dad, you know, the gospel preacher and the elder of the

  692. church. 4 houses up. My granddad, brother EH Miller,

  693. you know, been around for many, many years.

  694. I just. I wasn't wanting to quit.

  695. By the Lord, send your hands. Send your hands.

  696. If you want me to live and let me preach, let me live here.

  697. If not, pay up. All yours.

  698. I just want you to know, my Christian friends, living for

  699. the Lord is the best life there is.

  700. Because rain, sleet of snow, good time, bad times, things not

  701. going the way you want to. It's OK.

  702. The Lord is in charge, and you'd be so thankful.

  703. I want you to be the kind of people that every time the

  704. leadership of this congregation opens those doors for worship,

  705. you're here. That kind of commitment's kind

  706. of we need and the Lord wants out of you without somebody

  707. having to beg and plead. I want you to you be pulling in

  708. and then talking to other people, The dead kind of you be

  709. that kind of person. Oh, my dear friend, this is so

  710. very important. OK, let's look here.

  711. Saving ourselves? Oh, now he's putting the ball in

  712. our court. Save thyself.

  713. I just gave 3 verses there that we could give.

  714. But Acts 2 and 40. This is Acts 2.

  715. The day that first sermon was preached that people had the

  716. opportunity to obey, about 3000 obeyed.

  717. And we talked about that 25 minutes ago here.

  718. He said save yourself from the essential war or wicked

  719. generation. Philippians 2 and 12.

  720. He said, I want you to work out your own salvation.

  721. That sound familiar? You're all salvation with fear

  722. and trembling. First him before 6th state we

  723. board the red and point #4, how you save yourself and save

  724. others. My dear friends, listen, save

  725. yourself. You don't let anybody anything

  726. get in your way. You don't be hesitant to to let

  727. people know. Listen, I'll be honest with you

  728. there. I'll be glad to do things that

  729. you want to go do. But on this time I have a

  730. commitment with the Lord. I'll symbol with the Saints.

  731. Lord, on Lord's day we attend worship, we commune together.

  732. Hire whatever you want to say. And you might need to practice

  733. that because you may not be accustomed to kind of giving

  734. your faith, but it's OK. Practice it.

  735. Figure out how do you that you want to respond to people

  736. because you know your lifestyle, people at work or at school, or

  737. your neighbors or your friends or whoever that's wanting you to

  738. go do this. Go something.

  739. Do something else. You know how you need to

  740. respond. Work on it.

  741. Because when you do, you're going to save yourself.

  742. I'll tell you what, this is scary, but it's true.

  743. If I don't work to help others, say, I'm not going to save

  744. myself, the Lord expects me to talk to other people.

  745. I'm absolutely confident today if all of us will work together

  746. to save other people, all of us together will be saved in the

  747. final day because we're reaching out and help other people.

  748. OK. The final point right here in

  749. Matthew 25 and 40. Six.

  750. You know Matthew 25 is 1 where the Lord gave 3 illustrations.

  751. He gave you one of the of the virgins of the talents, and have

  752. separated the sheep from the ghost, the saved, and the lost,

  753. and all three of those. And then the very last verse,

  754. verse 46, about chapter These shall go away into everlasting

  755. punishment. That's all on the left.

  756. These shall go away into life eternal.

  757. Which one is yours? Which one is yours?

  758. Where are you? On the path to that resurrection

  759. of life for life eternal. You remember resurrection of

  760. life right here, John 529. Come down here.

  761. Life eternal. That's what it Life eternal is

  762. eternity going to last forever and ever and ever.

  763. It's going to never, ever end. I want it to be the best to you

  764. you'll ever have. God-given you the best.

  765. He gave you a son to Doc Calvary.

  766. I want you to go to heaven. I don't want you to have.

  767. To worry about this. But I want you to be

  768. understandable. If you don't do this, you don't

  769. do that. These will go away into

  770. everlasting punishment. You know one of the toughest

  771. jobs as the minister to conduct the funeral to somebody that

  772. you're scared to death for the eternal salvation.

  773. We used to have this gentleman that went to church because his

  774. wife wanted him to. He didn't believe in God.

  775. He'd sell him bareback and he was just a difficult gentleman.

  776. But I'd go see him about every week.

  777. I'd go to his house and he but he had no interest in spiritual

  778. thing where he eventually got sick and had a problem and it

  779. just, it looked like his life was just swiftly fleeing from

  780. him and the nurses came in. He's going to have a a brain

  781. surgery and the nurses came in to shave him, shave his head, he

  782. thought, they said he they'd come in.

  783. They're coming here to save you, he goes.

  784. Nobody's going to save me. And he got all.

  785. Hyper, they said, well, it's hurt and we didn't say save.

  786. We said shave. Oh well, all right.

  787. Well when he lived through surgery and he died a few weeks

  788. later and his wife said Allen Do you think he went to hell?

  789. I go listen the Bible said in first you went to five and 13.

  790. Those that are without God would judge.

  791. Let God do it. Those within the church we judge

  792. so don't ever say we don't judge people.

  793. And the Bible says you do it first fifty and five verse 13.

  794. You judge those within by the scripture for those without

  795. leaving up to God. You don't have to do that.

  796. You don't have to take on that burden.

  797. But as a baptized believer, we help each other.

  798. Go to heaven, my dear friend. There's so much more we can talk

  799. about today, but I'm going to let this be the finishing time.

  800. It is 7 four. No, no, not take for you.

  801. And I just want you to be saved. I look forward to, I look

  802. forward to everyone of our services.

  803. I look forward to singing and the prayer and the teaching and

  804. the study of God's word, the fellowship.

  805. What I want to know right here, right now.

  806. If you died, would you go to heaven?

  807. If not, I. Want you to come right up here?

  808. State your request. I want to obey the gospel of

  809. baptism. Or I'm a baptized believer and I

  810. have sinned in my life and I ask you to pray to Almighty God for

  811. it. You know what the Bible says

  812. that to a baptized believer, you repent and you pray to God.

  813. You know what we're going to do if you sin and you, you request

  814. it. We're going to repent and pray

  815. to God. You know what the Bible said in

  816. First John One If you have confessed your sin, he's

  817. faithful and just to forgive you.

  818. So you know what? If you make the request that

  819. you've got sin in your life, you want to confess that if we

  820. confess and pray to God, He'll forgive us.

  821. God is making it easy. We just need you to have the

  822. strength, the backbone and the commitment.

  823. That you're going to do things the right way if you have the

  824. spirit you need. We're welcome to come by.

  825. We stand by. We stand.
