The Power of the Blood of Christ | Terry Osburn

It's good to see everyone that's here this morning.

We're glad you're able to be with us and we're thankful for

our visitors and I'm assuming they're coming from the singing

school in Wichita Falls, TX on their way home and it's good to

have the Smith family with us this morning.

Others if your visitor we welcome you back at every

opportunity that you might have. I want to talk about the power

of the blood of Christ. And you know, the more I, I

really study this subject, it just gets deeper and deeper and

deeper because there's so much that the Bible has to say about

blood, about the blood of Christ as well.

Blood is, is certainly a very mysterious piece of matter.

If you want to say without blood in our bodies we fail to live

and that blood can't be substituted with with water or

some other substance and expect the human body to function in

the way that it's been intended to function.

God didn't plan it that way. It's always fascinated men and

men's been studying this for years and years and years.

In the year 1628, Sir Henry Henry William Harvey, an English

scientist, discovered that blood was a river of life, he said

flowing around in the body. The scriptures talk about the

blood is the life thereof in Leviticus 17 and verse 14 that

the life lieth in the blood. Blood is mysterious link between

this physical body and the spirit.

How it is that the soul should in any way be connected with a

physical matter, I don't understand it.

God has that all figured out. But that's the way it is.

When the blood is in this physical body, it also supplies,

it also has with it the soul of mankind.

And when the body seizes to function and the blood maybe

leaves the body, then the the soul doesn't have doesn't stay

in that body anymore. It doesn't inhabit the body.

Without blood, there cannot be life in the physical body.

Blood flows through the Bible just as it does through our

veins. And the blood of Christ keeps

the Christians spiritually alive.

Blood is spoken of some 427 times in our Bibles, so it's

easy to see it's not a minor theme for us to to to study.

God used blood for several reasons.

First, he said in Leviticus 17 verse 11, life is in the blood,

Leviticus 17:11

for the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it

to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls, for it

is the blood that makes atonement for the soul.

In other words, God intended for blood to take away our sins

because it the life is in the blood.

The Bible also teaches us that sin brings death, as we notice

in Romans 6 and 23 a a familiar verse that we are very familiar

with tells us that the wages of sin is death.

So if there is sin in our life, which there is, then we need

something to get us back alive, to make us alive again.

And we're going to notice how God planned all that God desires

to give us life. And since blood was identified

with life, blood is the is the thing God chose to give us that

life. Now let's notice the Passover

and how it was instituted in Exodus the 12th chapter, verses

21 through 23. Then Moses called for all the

elders of Israel and said to them, Pick out and take lambs

for yourselves according to your families, and kill the Passover

lamb. And you shall take a bunch of

hyssop, dip it in the blood that is in the basin, and strike the

lentils and the two doorposts with the blood that is in the

basin. And none of you shall go out of

the door of the his house until morning.

For the Lord God will pass through to strike the Egyptians.

And when he sees the blood on the lentil and on the doorpost,

the Lord will pass over the door and not allow the destroyer to

come into your houses to strike you.

So during the Passover, an innocent lamb was slain, and his

blood was smeared on the doorposts and on the lentil, on

the on the head of the door and on the side posts of the door.

Every entrance of the entry. Israelites who put that on their

door opening. The death Angel passed by that

night. Blood constantly reminds that

minded the people that their sacrifice was to deal with

death's power and that the blood gave life.

Secondly, blood indicated that a price had been paid.

In order for a blood sacrifice to be given to God, something

had to die. That that lamb had to die.

It had to be sacrificed. And also noticed that it wasn't

just any lamb. It wasn't the crippled lamb, it

wasn't a blemish lamb. It was the best that they had.

It was the best in the flock that they sacrificed.

So in order in other, in order for a blood sacrifice to be

given to God, something had to die.

And God meant for his people to know how terrible their sin was.

And that's what we need to understand too, how terrible our

sin is because of the sacrifice that was given, the greatest

sacrifice that was given for our sins.

Every time they sinned, they're required to offer up a blood

sacrifice. In the Old Testament, every day

at the temple, you'd see people go come and go to the temple

with their sacrifices being offered for things they had done

day after day after day. These sacrifices were offered up

to God, and these sacrifices cost the life and the blood of

an innocent animal to pay for their sins.

A price had to be paid though, and blood was the dearest price

that could be paid. The only link that these animals

had between had to the sins of the offenders was that the

animals were owned by the offender.

The animal had no sin. The animal was innocent.

The animal didn't sin before God.

The only connection there was was that the owner was the owner

of the animal that was sacrificed.

These goats and bulls and lambs had no tie whatsoever in in

their lives and what the owners did and certainly had nothing to

do with their sins. There was nothing inherently

powerful in the blood of these animals that would offer

forgiveness to sinners. But he says also in Hebrews 10th

chapter and verse 4, it's not possible that the blood of bulls

and and goats could take away sins.

Their blood couldn't forgive anybody.

Blood couldn't forgive anybody. It rolled the sins forward.

But God used the blood of animals to help us realize that

there would be come a time when an ultimate sacrifice would be

given and would remove our sins. And that ultimate blood

sacrifice was the blood of Jesus.

If there's one truth more than any other, there is that Satan

doesn't want you to know about the power in the blood of Christ

because it puts everything that the devil does and it nullifies

it all out. It cancels the power of the

devil when the blood of Jesus and the and the power of the

blood of Jesus is brought to life.

The truth in first Peter 119 that we are bought with the

precious blood of Christ takes away those things that Satan

would cripple us up on. Satan tells us that we can be

saved by our own merits. There are certain denominations

or the certain religious organizations out there that

would tell you that if you just be a good person, if you would

just reform your life and you would just do good deeds and you

would just be a good person. And if you would just, he tells

us that we can be saved by just doing our best and by just

saying a prayer, the sinner's prayer, and you'll be saved.

But that's not what the Bible has to say.

The Bible doesn't say that. Satan does.

Satan says that, but not what the Bible says.

But all the way through the New Testament we find that the only

way to God is a way that is marked by blood, by the precious

blood of Christ. Christ died, and in dying He

paid the penalty for our sins. His death was a punishment for

my sins. He came into this world and

suffered in my place. He bore the shame of the cross

for my disobedience, not obeying God for doing things that I

shouldn't do. Christ paid the price that I

owe. What a great sacrifice that is.

He paid the penalty. How powerful is that?

How powerful can the can something be to remove sins from

someone else? But the blood of Christ did that

for us. Galatians 3 and verse 13.

Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law being made a

curse for us also, as Galatians one and four tells us, who gave

himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this

present evil age according to the will of our God and Father.

And this wasn't something that we don't see the picture of

Christ being dragged to the cross.

We don't see the picture of him being bound with chains and

being held captive and being pushed to the cross.

Christ went to the cross. Christ gave himself for our

sins. He allowed all this to happen

for our sins. The the Bible does not tell us

that Christ was forced into this, but that he gave himself

for our sins as here in Galatians 1 and 4.

The reason Jesus blood had the power to remove sins because it

was his own blood. Notice Hebrews 9 and verse 12.

Not that the blood of of blood of goats and calves, but with

his own blood he answered entered the most holy place once

for all, having obtained eternal redemption.

Also Revelation one and five to him who loved us and washed us

from our sins in his own blood. Why is it important that it was

Jesus blood? It was important because all our

sins are committed against God. It's also because we've all

fallen short of the glory of God.

Romans 2, Romans 3 and verse 23. Sin presents a problem, but with

every problem we have, God offers a solution, and we need

our sins removed. So how can that happen?

We deserve death and punishment for our sin, but God has shown

mercy in Romans 5 and verse 8. But God demonstrated his love,

His own love toward us, and that while we were still sinners,

Christ died for us. That's a powerful, powerful,

powerful verse. When we think about it, the

while we were still sinners, and God sees that sin in our life

and he knows that we sin from time to time, some of it on

purpose, some of it unintentional, but we sin.

But still, Christ died for those sins.

He didn't die so that we can just go out and sin however we

want to and come to Him and expect that He's going to

forgive us, that we can sin just willfully, as we'll notice later

on. But we deserve death and

punishment. But God showed His love to us,

towards us while we're still sinners, noticing Isaiah 53 and

verse 5. But He was wounded for our

transgressions. He was bruised for our

iniquities. The chastisement of our peace

was upon him, and by His stripes we are healed.

You know when I was at home and I would do something I shouldn't

be doing and get in trouble for it, I was the one that got the

weapon. I was the one that got the the

strap or I got the belt or I got the switch or whatever it was.

I was the one that received the punishment because it was me

that committed the wrong against the rules of the house.

My brother didn't step up for me and say, hey, Terry, I'll take

the licks for you. That didn't happen, nor did I do

it for him. I didn't offer that.

Now that doesn't mean I didn't take some for Him when I got in

trouble for something that He did, but I didn't offer myself

up in His place. But Christ did.

By His stripes we are healed. He took the stripes, He took the

punishment. He endured the cross for us

because of our sins, because of what we do.

Without the blood of Christ, the gospel is dead, we are dead and

we all are deprived of eternal life.

That blood that we are Speaking of carries in it life because it

cleanses us from our sins, it remits and it removes our sins.

Taters talks about remission and he says it means to the

forgiveness or pardon of sins, letting them go as if they had

never been committed, Remission of the penalty.

That's a wonderful thing to be completely wiped out.

Our sins be completely wiped out as if they never had happened.

You know, I don't really have that ability when someone does

something against me to forget what they did to me.

Now that doesn't mean that I don't forgive them of that, but

to remote move that from my memory, I, I remember those

things. We remember those things and

maybe next time we're a little more cautious.

We don't get too close to the doghouse or we'll get bit.

We stay away. We we keep ourselves separate

from sin and things like that, like that.

But remission and forgiveness of our sins means as if they never

happened at all. That's what God does for us.

Jesus blood remits our sins. Notice in Matthew 26 and 28 For

this is my blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many

for the remission of sins. The purpose it was shed was to

remit the sins. If there would have been any

other way, God maybe would have chose a different way.

But God chose the blood of Jesus to be shed on the cross, to

remit our sins and to redeem us, Paul added in Hebrews 9 and

verse 22. And according to the law, almost

things, all things are purified with blood.

But without the shedding of blood, there is no remission.

If Jesus would not have died, we would not be able to have our

sins remitted. That's it, plain and simple.

But that had to happen. Jesus had to go to the cross for

our sins. He also explains in Colossians 1

and 14 in whom we have redemption through his blood,

the forgiveness of sins. The early church understood the

blood and the sermon recorded in the book of sermons recorded in

the book of Acts all give the same message, the death, the

burial and the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

They understood that his death and the covering by the blood

was essential ingredient of the gospel.

That's why in baptism we're told, do you not know that as

many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ or baptized into

his death, therefore we are buried with him through baptism

into death. That just as Christ was raised

from the dead by the glory of the Father, Even so we also

should walk in newness of life. So if we are dead, which sin

makes us dead to God? We noticed earlier, what is it

gives us life, the blood of Christ and coming in contact

with that blood of Jesus Christ, where do we come in contact with

it in baptism? Nothing else he says right here.

Do you not know that as many of us as we're baptized into

Christ, we're baptized in death, therefore we are buried with him

through baptism into death. The just as Christ was raised

from the dead by the glory of the Father, Even so we also

should walk in news of life. For if we have been united

together in the likeness of his death, certainly we also shall

be in the likeness of his resurrection, knowing this, that

the old man was crucified with him, that the body of sin might

be done away with, and that we should no longer be slaves of

sin. For he who has died has been

freed from sin. What frees us from sin?

What frees us from the guilt of sin?

What frees us from the penalty of sin?

Baptism and the blood of Christ The blood of Christ, when we

come in contact with it in baptism, is what remits our

sins, forgives us of our sins, puts us in contact with the

blood of Christ, the redeeming power of the blood of Christ,

and washes away all of our sins. And he remembers them no more,

as if they were never ever committed.

What a wonderful blessing we have in the blood of Jesus

Christ and its power. Then having been touched by His

blood and being buried with Jesus through baptism, we can

then share in His resurrection. So let's know some

characteristics of the blood of Christ.

The blood of Christ is perfect. The virgin birth of Christ

established His righteousness. Judas cried out in Matthew 27

verse four. I have betrayed innocent blood,

just like that innocent lamb that we talked about in the Old

Testament, Judas said. I have betrayed innocent blood,

Paul explained also in 2nd Corinthians 5 and 21.

For he, God made himself, Jesus, who knew no sin, to be sin for

us, that we might become the righteousness of God in him,

Pilate said in John 18 and verse 38.

I find no fault in him. Jesus himself said in John 8 and

46, Which of you convicts me of sin?

Hebrews 7 and 26. He spoke as he was spoken, as

holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made

higher than the heavens. Again in first Peter 2nd 2 and

verse 22 Who committed no sin nor was deceit found in his

mouth. John added in first John 3 and

verse 5 in him there is no sin. So Jesus blood is perfect.

You know how many men have walked the face of this earth?

I was looking it up this morning.

I'm trying to remember exactly what it was.

I'm very forgetful. I think it was 108 billion

people estimated that have walked on the face of this

Earth. Do you know how many of them

were sinless? Just one.

One in 108 billion people was perfect.

That makes it pretty special, doesn't it?

Makes it pretty special. Makes it perfect.

Christ was perfect, He had no sin, He was sinless.

That lamb that was slaughtered and that was given as a

sacrifice for the sins of the Israelites was a was a lamb

without blemish. It was the best and God gave his

best for US. One reason we use grape juice in

our communion service instead of wine is because wine has to go

through a fermenting process. The process of fermentation is

actually bacteria working in the juice.

It's a rotting process. And this could never give the

proper picture of the sinless blood of Jesus.

That's why we use the blood of the grape.

When you squeeze the grape, when you squeeze it, what comes out

of it? Grape juice, it's the blood of

the grape. It's not fermented.

It is pure as it gets nothing added to it, nothing taken from

it. It is pure blood of the grape.

Jesus blood was pure and it was perfect.

And if we try to mess with the communion service and put

something else in there other than what God intended, it

defiles it. It makes it impure, and because

His blood is pure, it also purifies.

The blood of Jesus Christ purifies and cleanses.

Look at Hebrews 9 and 22 again. Without the shedding of blood,

there is no forgiveness. Blood sacrifices happened all

the time throughout the Old Testament, and here in Hebrews

we find that the blood of Jesus is what purifies us.

If we have something else that we're trying to be purified

with, like our own good deeds, be a good person.

Just try to be do the best you can and all those things.

You can never reach purity. You can never be perfect because

only one person has ever been perfect.

So you can't do it on your own, folks.

We can't do it on our own. We need the cleansing purity of

Jesus blood, that wonderful cleansing agent.

There's no other cleansing agent known to man that can rid your

soul of its filth and shame than the blood of Jesus.

Blood was designed by God to be used to forgive you and I of our

sins. The Bible also tells us God

loved us so much that he offered us a way to cleanse us of our

sins. Notice the writer in Hebrew says

here again, if we go back to verses 13 and 14.

For if the blood of bulls and goats, and the ashes, and a

heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of

the flesh, how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through

the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God,

Cleanse your conscience for dead works to the serving to serve

the living God. So the blood of bulls and goats

was imperfect, but it was the best they had.

But God offered the purest and perfect sacrifice for our sins,

and if that was able to take our sins away, and how much more?

The blood of Jesus Christ, when the pure blood of of our Savior

is applied to the Sinner, provides a cleansing power to

remove sin from a sinner's life. John explained in first John 1

and verse 7, the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from

all sin. That's not just some sin, not

just certain sins. That's not just a certain grade

of sin. If we want to say, you know, we

hear about white lies, well, is a white lie.

OK, white lies not a sin, but all the other lies are sinful.

That's not the way God has it. Sin is sin.

There's not categories of sin. And he said that the blood of

Christ cleanses us from all sin. Whatever makes us dead to God,

the blood of Christ cleanses us from that.

The songwriter Robert Lowery wrote this song.

Someone we're familiar with. What can wash away my sin?

Nothing but the blood of Jesus. What can make me whole again?

Nothing but the blood of Jesus. Oh precious is the flow that

makes me white as snow. No other fount.

I know nothing but the blood of Jesus.

There's nothing that can do it. Nothing ever will, nothing ever

has, other than the blood of Jesus to cleanse us.

Peter wrote in first Peter one verse 18 and 19.

For as much as you know that you were not redeemed with

corruptible things, but with the precious blood of Christ, as of

the Lamb, without blemish and without spot, Jesus was perfect

without sin in his life. The blood of Christ is

perpetual. The animal sacrifices of the Old

Testament were continuous year after year.

The blood of bulls and goats was temporarily only because

temporarily only because it pointed to the sacrifice of

Christ and His blood being shed for the covering of our sins.

The writer in Hebrews speaks of Christ in Hebrews 7 and 27 as

one who does not need daily as those high priests to OfferUp

sacrifices, first for His own sins, and then for the sins for

the peoples. For this is He.

For this He did once for all when He offered Him up Himself.

Excuse me, my eyes are a little with allergies, I sometimes

can't read very well. So the blood of bulls and the

goats had to be offered up daily.

When we sin, we don't have to offer up another sacrifice.

We don't have to OfferUp sacrifices daily for our sins.

It was done once, and it was done for all again.

Paul tells us in Hebrews 9 and 12 that it was not the blood of

of goats and calves, but with his own blood He entered the

most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal

redemption. That means forever for the rest

of time. His blood was so powerful.

You know that blood that was shed on the cross that day still

has the same power today that it had in the day that it was shed.

It still does the same things on this earth.

Decay. They wear out.

The sun beats them up. The wind beats them up.

The elements beat things up. We have to repaint our houses.

We have to put new tires on our cars because things wear out.

Our bodies wear out, but the blood of Christ doesn't wear

out. It keeps on redeeming.

It keeps on saving. It keeps on sanctifying.

It keeps on purifying. It keeps on saving man from sin.

And it's still as powerful today as it ever has been.

And it's eternal. Then again in Hebrews 9 and 26.

But now once at the end of of the age He has appeared to put

away sin by the sacrifice of Himself only had to happen one

time. The death of death of Christ set

into motion a continuous cleansing and healing for those

who remain faithful to Him who are given the gift of eternal

life that He purchased with His blood.

Thank God we are once we are. We were washed once and for all,

forever. We only have to be baptized one

time, one time for our sins. John wrote in Revelation 5 and

verse 9. For thou was slain and has

redeemed us to God by thy blood. It takes amazing power to do

that. And we're told in Revelation

12:00 and 11:00 that they overcame Satan by the blood of

the Lamb. It takes a lot of power to do

that too. Paul's teachers have tried to

deny the power of the blood and baptism.

They say it doesn't need to happen, that you can be saved by

just reciting the the sinner's prayer and baptism is only an

act of obedience to to whatever. But it's through coming in

contact with the saving power of the blood of Jesus Christ in

baptism that we are saved. Notice, of course, these

teachers and many like them stand and come in complete

opposition to what the Bible has to say about it.

Without the shedding of blood there is no remission, or

without contacting that blood, there is no remission of sin.

The blood of Jesus Christ is powerful because it washes away

our sins. It remits our sins.

It redeems us. It reconciles us to God because

we are in opposition with God when we are living in sin.

It justifies us before God. It cleanses us of our sin.

It purifies us of our sin. It covers our sin.

It ratified the New Covenant. It paid the price for our sins.

It gives us spiritual life and we're brought near to God with

it. It allows us to be a child of

God and also that we can walk in newness of life.

We can be born again in baptism to walk in newness of life.

Have a brand new life, have a brand new slate.

We all make mistakes. Wouldn't it be nice to start

over? God gives you that chance to

start over. Start over with your life.

Well the blood of Christ is permanent to to be acquitted.

It acquit means to pay off, to free, to clear, to absolve.

And it has far reaching meaning extending from the past all the

way into the future. Not only our past sins are

covered by the blood of Christ, but also the present sins and

future sins are covered by the blood of Christ.

Notice we don't have to get re baptized every time we sin.

A sacrifice doesn't have to be given every time we sin.

It's something that continually and perpetually and permanently

acquits us of our sins. Jesus blood cleans us of our

past sins, and he promises not to remember them again.

He says, I'll remember them no more.

We need that. We as sinners need that.

Now. That doesn't mean, well, let me

let me go on because I'm going to get ahead of myself here in

Hebrews 10 and verse 12. But this man after he had

offered one sacrifice, 1 sacrifice for sins forever sit

down at the right hand of God so it continues to atone for even

future sins. It doesn't mean that we can go

ahead and sin because that's should never be our attitude.

There are some religions that believe that you can just go out

and commit sin and then you can just go get it taken care of.

You can commit the sin intentionally.

That's not the reason Jesus died on the cross.

Hebrews 10 and verse 26. For if we sin willfully after we

received a knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains

sacrifice for sins. In other words, that's not the

reason Jesus died on the cross is so that we can go out and

premeditated and and premeditate sin, plan on sinning and then

committed, and then accept God, expect God to forgive us of our

sin. That's not the reason Jesus died

on the cross. It's for the sinless life that

we live and the sins that we commit from day-to-day.

Some we don't. We don't even realize that we

commit, but we can know that despite our best efforts we are

sinners and we still sin and we don't have to be baptized every

time we sin. Well the blood of Christ is

precious blood. Peter used the term precious to

describe the blood of Christ. He said in first Peter one verse

19 But the precious blood of Christ is of a lamb without

blemish and without spot. First John 1 and 29 The next day

he saw Jesus coming toward him and said, Behold the Lamb of God

who takes away the sin of the world.

Jesus was our sacrificial lamb and God valued your soul and my

soul so much that he gave his son his only son for him.

Now talk about precious and you may Remember Me make giving this

example. There's there's certain stones

that we have we wear in our rings.

We may wear in the women may wear in their earrings, maybe

some of the guys wearing their earrings and around our necks

that are precious stones. I can go out here in the parking

lot and probably pick a piece of gravel out of the parking lot

and come and say that this is worth $1,000,000.

And it's not because it's just a common everyday rock that

anybody can pick up off the street.

Then you have gems. You have gems that that are a

little bit more pricey if you want to go buy one, rubies,

emeralds, sapphire, all those those gems that are a little bit

more precious. And then you get into what they

call the precious stones, the diamonds.

Now every, everybody likes diamonds, especially the women

like diamonds based on their colour, their clarity, and the

carrot. Those three things make them

very valuable. If you have a large diamond and

it's very clear and it's got the right color, it's very valuable

and it's very precious. Vicki and I were able to go into

the Library of Congress. I believe it was a Library of

Congress. And then displayed in in the

foyer, there was the Hope Diamond.

And let me tell you, it's impressive.

It's a big rock, not a rock that we find out here laying on the

street in the gutter. That rock was behind glass and

it was protected with lasers and and probably armed guards around

us. I wasn't paying attention to

that, but it was so precious and so valuable based on its colour,

clarity and carrot. It was a precious stone.

In other words, it's very, very, very rare.

No other diamond like it. One of the rarest.

You know how precious the blood of Christ is?

No other blood like it. There's no other blood like it.

No other blood can do with the things that Christ blood did for

us. It was perfect.

It was sinless, it was innocent blood that was shed because we

sin. That's what makes it precious,

the precious blood of Jesus Christ as a lamb without blemish

and without spot. And he says, behold the Lamb of

God who takes away the sin of the world.

Jesus blood is pure as that lamb was pure.

Also the blood of Christ is protective.

Going back to Exodus, the 12th chapter.

The blood was sprinkled on the doorposts of their Jewish homes

just as the Lord had instructed them.

When God came on the fit that fateful night and the judgement

of death to the first born in those houses, the Jews were

protected by the blood. They believed the word of the

Lord and they obeyed it. And it brought a redeeming, a

redeeming act in into their lives by following the

directions just as the Lord had given them.

They, they were spared from death just like that.

The blood of Christ protects us from the devil and from the

consequences of sin. It protects us.

God had said in Exodus 12 and verse 13, Now the blood shall be

a sign for you on the House where you are.

And when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague

shall not be on on you to destroy you.

When I strike the land of Egypt. How are we protected from the

from the spiritual death caused by sin, by the blood of Christ.

It covers us, it covers our sin, it hides our sin.

We are often speak of being under the blood.

And if you have not gotten under the protection of the blood of

Jesus Christ, you need to do so before the death Angel comes to

your door. He says, God says when I see the

blood and when he says when I see the blood of Christ, He

knows who we are. If you don't have the blood

applied to your life today and God can't see the blood of His

Son in our lives, if not we're living in sin, we need to make

sure that we are covered by the blood of Christ that that.

But the blood of Jesus was shed so that all sinners could be

saved, not that those who the rest of the world would consider

as too evil to change, or those who would have the opportunity

to repent of their sins and be buried with Christ in the water

grave of baptism, rising up a new creature.

Christ died for everyone, the Sinner, all sinners.

In conclusion, the precious blood of Christ is a wonderful

thing. It does so much for us in our

lives that we can even be we can't even really begin to to

think about it. I mentioned at the 1st that the

deeper you get into the subject, it just seems like the more that

the blood just flows through the Bible like it does.

His blood allows us to approach the very presence of God as the

High Priest were able to do, enter into the Holy of Holies

only by the blood of the sacrificial Lamb.

It consecrates us, it cleanses us, and makes us worthy to stand

before God, and He hear our petition and our prayers.

Hebrews 10 of verses 19 through 22.

Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter, to enter the

holiest, by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He

consecrated for us through the veil that is His flesh, and

having a high priest over the House of God, let us draw near

with a true heart, in full assurance of faith, having our

hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies

washed with pure water. Sin separates us from God, but

Jesus blood draws us near. Ephesians 2 and verses 13

through 14. But now in Christ Jesus, who

was, who once were afar off, have been brought near by the

blood of Christ. For he himself is our peace, who

hath made both one and has broken down the middle wall of

separation doesn't separate us from God anymore.

It opens up that veil and we're able to go into the holiest of

holies as our as we can talk to God directly through Jesus

Christ. It what it took down that middle

wall of partition of partition, that wall of separation.

God says that whosoever will may come and drink of the water of

drink of the living water. And that means allowing the

blood of Jesus to wash away their sins.

Jesus blood is sufficient. That's all we need.

We don't need anything more than that, but we certainly don't

need anything less than that. It's sufficient to do what God

planned, and that is to wash away and to take away our sins

through his blood. A familiar song to us in the In

the words of William Cowper. There is a fountain filled with

blood drawn from Emmanuel's veins, And sinners plunge

beneath that flood, lose all their guilty stains.

The dying thief rejoiced to see that fountain in his day, And

there have I, though vile as he washed all my sins away.

Dear dying Lamb, thy precious blood shall never lose its power

till all the ransom Church of God, be saved to sin no more ere

since by faith I saw the stream Thy flowing wounds supply.

Redeeming love has been my goon, and shall be till I die.

Then in a nobler, sweeter song I'll sing Thy power to save when

this poor, lisping, stammering tongue lies silent in the grave.

If you've not been baptized for the remission of sins, won't you

consider the things that we've said this morning about the

power of the blood of Christ? Nobody's too sinful, nobody's

too far away. You haven't committed to sin

that Jesus won't forgive you and God won't forgive you of your

sin. Notice in Isaiah 1 verse 18,

Isaiah 1:18

those your sins be as scarlet, they shall be white as snow,

though they be like be red, like Crimson, they shall be as wool.

Don't reject the power of the blood of Christ.

That reminds me also when we talk about, as you, everyone

here may have been thinking about this same song as we went

through this lesson this morning.

There's power in the blood. Would you be free from your

burden of sin? There's power in the blood.

Power in the blood. Would you or evil a victory win?

There's wonderful power in the blood.

Would you be free from your passion and pride?

There's power in the blood, Power in the blood.

Come for a cleansing to Calvary's tide.

There's wonderful power in the blood.

There is power, power, wonder, working power in the blood of

the Lamb. There's power, power, wonder,

working power in the precious blood of the Lamb.

Well, how do we let the power of Jesus in the blood of of Christ

work in our lives? The transformation has to take

place from the sinful state that we are in to be acceptable in

God. That transformation begins with

us hearing the word of God. Romans 10 verse 17.

Romans 10:17

So then faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God.

The transformation continues as we believe the word of God.

Mark 16 and 16. He that believeth and is

baptized shall be saved, but he that believeth not shall be

damned also. The transformation continues as

we repent. Acts 2 and verse 38.

Then Peter said unto them, Repent and be baptized, everyone

of you in the name of Jesus Christ, for the remission of

sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

The transformation continues as we confess the name of Christ.

Romans 10 and verses 9 and 10. That if thou shalt confess with

thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in thine heart,

that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shall be saved.

For the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the

mouth confession is made unto salvation.

The transformation continues as we're baptized into Christ.

For as many of you has been baptized into Christ, have put

on Christ. Galatians 3 and verse 27 also

first Peter 3 and 21. The like figure where unto even

baptism doth also now save us, not the putting away of the

filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience

toward God by the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

It's baptism that will rise, that we will rise to walk in

newness of life and then we can read.

We can go back and read this all again in Romans, the 6th

chapter, verse 38, if we wanted to.

I'm going to stop with that because it's through baptism

that we contact the blood of Christ, that we rise to walk in

newness life and we'll be raised in that day when Jesus comes

again. The lesson is yours.

I hope that we've said something this morning that will benefit

you in some way, and maybe you'll be able to share with

others as well. This is not something that's new

to us, but I think it's good to remind us about how powerful the

blood of Christ is to us.
