  1. Pastor Josh here.

  2. I would like to give you a preview of our Sunday morning service

  3. on October 27th here at Middletown Baptist Church.

  4. The title of our sermon is out of this World.

  5. We're going to be looking at Second Corinthians, chapter six,

  6. and what Paul has to say about loving the world and how as believers,

  7. the challenge sometimes is that we love the world more than

  8. we love the things of God.

  9. The Bible tells us in this case in verse 14 of 2 Corinthians,

    2 Corinthians 6 chapter mention

  10. chapter 6, Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers?

  11. For what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness,

  12. and what communion hath light with darkness?

  13. We're going to explore the topic of what it means to be unequally

  14. yoked with unbelievers.

  15. Certainly there is an opportunity for us to be in the world

  16. and know unbelievers, but the Bible clearly talks about how we

  17. should be separated from those ways.

  18. And then we see later on in verse number 16, he says, in what

  19. agreement with hath the temple of God with idols?

  20. For ye are the temple of the living God.

  21. So he refers to what he talks about in First Corinthians that we

  22. as Christians are the temple of God.

  23. Why would we mingle the temple of God with idolatry?

  24. And so in verse 17 he says, Wherefore because of this, come out

  25. from among them and be separate, saith the Lord, and touch

  26. not the unclean thing, and I will receive you.

  27. And so we're going to study that topic of what it means to be

  28. living in this world, but not to be of this world.

  29. Our hearts sometimes are longing for the things of this world,

  30. and God says, no, your hearts should not be longing for those things,

  31. they should be longing for me.

  32. Our hearts should be longing and desiring after the truths of

  33. God and his work in our life.

  34. So I encourage you to listen to the sermon.

  35. If you can come in person.

  36. We would love to have you here at 10:30 at Middletown Baptist Church,

  37. or you can follow on the podcast the Day after or watch us

  38. live on YouTube or Facebook.

  39. But I encourage you to be a part of this because I think it's

  40. a really challenging lesson for all of us to study here in Second

  41. Corinthians chapter six.

  42. Well, I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

  43. We look forward to hearing from you.

  44. We look forward to seeing you, and we pray that God gives you a

  45. great day in the Lord today.

  46. Well, God bless.

  47. We will see you soon.
