  1. Pastor Josh here.

  2. I would like to give you a preview of our Sunday morning service

  3. on November 17th here at Middletown Baptist Church.

  4. We're going to be continuing on in our sermon series looking at

  5. Second Corinthians.

  6. We're going to be in Second Corinthians, chapter seven.

  7. The name of the sermon on Sunday will be the real repentance

  8. for revival.

  9. Real repentance for revival.

  10. And we're going to be discussing what the Bible says is

  11. true repentance.

  12. The Bible says that there is a type of repentance that can be a

  13. selfish, focused, sorry that we've been caught kind of feeling.

  14. And then there's biblical repentance.

  15. Biblical repentance is a change in direction, a turning away

  16. from something and a turning to God.

  17. And what we can see in Scripture is that we can't have revival,

  18. that new life, that new hope without that repentance.

  19. The key verse that we're going to be studying on Sunday is Second

    2 Corinthians 7:10

  20. Corinthians, chapter 7, verse 10.

  21. For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation, not to be

  22. repented of, but the sorrow of the world worketh death.

  23. So we're going to talk about the two different types of sorrow.

  24. You have the godly sorrow, which brings to repentance, which

  25. brings to salvation, which brings to hope.

  26. And then you have the sorrow of the world, which worketh into

  27. death, as it says, or produces death.

  28. And so we're going to talk about the difference between those

  29. two things, and we're going to look at what the Bible says true

  30. repentance is, which leads to true revival.

  31. We all want revival in our land.

  32. We want revival in our church.

  33. We want revival in our life.

  34. But the Bible does say that that starts with repentance.

  35. That starts with godly sorrow.

  36. That starts with the truth of God and being revealed to us in our

  37. lives and honestly looking and measuring ourselves up to the standard

  38. of God, which we know that we fall short of the glory of God.

  39. But yet we see how much more we need the grace of God in our lives.

  40. And so encourage you to follow along with us on Sunday if you're

  41. able to be with us in person.

  42. We'd love to see you.

  43. But if you're not able to be with us in person, we will post the

  44. sermon on Monday morning here on the podcast.

  45. And also we'll be live streaming on YouTube and Facebook

  46. Sunday morning.

  47. Well, thank you so much for listening.

  48. We're looking forward to seeing you soon.

  49. Have a great weekend.
