Pastor Josh here.
-
I would like to give you a preview of our Sunday morning service
-
on December 15th here at Middletown Baptist Church.
-
This Sunday, we're going to be having a special Christmas program.
-
We're going to be having special music from our children's
-
choir and from our adult choir.
-
All of these songs are going to be pointing to the greatest gift
-
that was ever given to us.
-
And that is the gift of Jesus Christ, the gift of salvation.
-
That is actually, actually the title of the sermon that we're going
-
to be having.
-
It's the greatest gift.
-
We're going to look at how, though we have received many gifts
-
in our life, probably many gifts that we have enjoyed, the only
-
gift that we need desperately is the gift of Jesus Christ, the
-
gift of the gospel, the gift of salvation.
-
We're going to be looking at Romans chapter five, and we're going
-
to see that we all have a problem, and that is the problem
-
of sin.
-
And sin came through the sin of one man, that is Adam.
-
That's what Romans chapter 5, verse 12 says.
-
But the Bible says, just as sin enters the world through one
-
man, so the gift of grace came through one man.
-
And so we know that that gift was given in Jesus Christ.
-
For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son.
-
And so the Bible says in Romans chapter 5, verse 15, is that
-
this gift of God, this gift of grace was given to us by one man,
-
Jesus Christ.
-
And so that is the exciting aspect of this Christmas season.
-
We can know that we are celebrating the coming of Jesus Christ,
-
but we're also celebrating the gift that he extended to us in salvation.
-
And so In Romans, chapter 5, verse 17, it says, for if by one
-
man's offense death reigned by one, that's Adam, much more.
-
They which receive the abundant grace and the gift of righteousness
-
shall reign in life by one Jesus Christ.
-
What an amazing truth that is.
-
And so that's what we're going to be celebrating this Sunday, the
-
greatest gift.
-
We're going to be celebrating Jesus Christ our Lord.
-
We hope that you are here with us in person to hear this special
-
music and to hear the preaching of the Word of God.
-
But if you're not able to be with us in person, we certainly will
-
be live streaming on Facebook and YouTube and we'll be replaying
-
of the service on our podcast channel here on Monday morning.
-
Well, thank you so much.
-
Looking forward to seeing you.
-
Looking forward to hearing from you.
-
We want to wish you a merry Christmas here from Middletown Baptist
-
Church.
