Exploring Suffering: A Preview of Pastor Josh Massaro's Sermon

I would like to give you a preview of our Sunday morning service

on March 16th here at Middletown Baptist Church.

We're going to be continuing our study in Second Corinthians,

and we're going to be in Second Corinthians, chapter number

12.

Here in this passage of Scripture, we're going to look at

suffering for the Lord.

What does that what does that mean?

And so we're going to see the sufficiency of the Lord in the midst

of our suffering.

And so the idea would be that the inevitability of suffering is

a reality.

But we can understand God's grace and rest in God's grace and

realize that the grace of God is sufficient for everything in our

life.

It's sufficient for our suffering, it's sufficient for our

strength.

And ultimately we know that it's sufficient for our salvation,

the most important thing.

And so in 2 Corinthians, chapter 12, we're going to look at

2 Corinthians 12 · chapter mention

Paul's eternal perspective.

We're going to look at Paul's prayer, we're going to look at the

Lord's response to that prayer, and we're going to look at

Paul's practice after that.

And so in the end of this passage of Scripture, we see in verse

9 of 2 Corinthians 12, God's response is that my grace is sufficient

for thee, for my strength is made perfect in weakness.

And so it'll be an interesting study, hopefully a helpful study

in the concept of dealing with our weaknesses, dealing with our

struggles, dealing with our pain, but seeing God's hand in that

and seeing God's strength and in the midst of our insufficiency.

So we are sufficient in Christ, and therefore we can understand

his power in our lives when we are weak.

And so I don't know if you're weak.

I don't know if you're going through a struggle right now.

The reality is that all of us are inadequate in the concept of

our lives.

But we do know that God is enough, and we're gonna talk about

that on Sunday.
