When money couldn't help, when your friends could help you, when your bank account could not help you.

The love of God demonstrates his love for us in this that, while we were yet sinners, christ gave his life for us, for God.

So love the world that gave his only begotten son that also ever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Love lifted me.

I hope you know Jesus from a personal place that you can confess the words of this song, that indeed the love of Christ has lifted you.

We did not love him, but he loved us first.

He loved us even when we did not deserve this love.

I think we can just take two minutes to appreciate this love of God.

Jesus died on the cross demonstrates his love for you.

He paid the price you could not pay the debt of sin.

Jesus paid it.

That sin has no hold on you.

When he gave his life and he said it's finished, it was a statement of victory Love.

His love has lifted you.

Let's appreciate the Lord once more.

His love has lifted me.

I hope his love has lifted you also.

While you are standing, I would like us to get to the scripture reading, which is coming from the book of Ephesians.

This is what the Bible says.

As a prisoner for the Lord, then I urge you to live alive, worthy of the calling you have received.

Be completely humble.

Be patient, bearing with one another in love.

Make every effort, make every effort to keep the unity of the spirit through the bond of peace.

There is one body and one spirit, just as you are called to one hope when you are called one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.

But to each one of us grace has been given.

But to each one of us, grace has been given as Christ apportioned it.

This is why it says when he ascended on high, he took many captives and gave gifts to His people.

What does he ascended mean?

Accept that also descended to the lower earthly regions.

He who descended is the very one who ascended higher than all the heavens in order to fill the whole universe.

So Christ Himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers to equip the people for works of service.

So the body of Christ, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity.

Until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ Verse 14, then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves and blown here and thereby every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful skimming.

Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of Him who is the head, that is, christ.

From Him, the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, growth and build itself up in love as each part does its work.

Father, we thank you for your award.

Your award is true, and, lord, you say in John 17, 17, 75,.

Then, by the truth, your award is true.

Now, lord, we pray that your award will find a place in the hearts of your people to encourage them, to strengthen them, to give them hope in you that you may be able to attain, even to a level, the measure of what you have for us today.

Be glorified, o God, because we pray this in Jesus' name, amen.

You may have your seat as I bring you the message this afternoon.

Let me put a disclaimer to the five emergency precautions that, in case there is fire, there is what we call Holy Ghost fire.

So, yes, we can give a hand clap to the Lord because in Acts, chapter 2, the Holy Ghost came upon the apostles and there were tongues of fire.

So that is what they call friendly fire.

So don't look for the escape route In case it happens in this service.

We are in the days of revival, so don't take off.

Remember this is friendly fire, the fire of the Holy Spirit.

If it burns you, it will just be purifying you.

Therefore, don't worry.

And if it burns, it will be burning the chaff.

So you don't need the chaff.

So may the spirit of the Lord speak to you this afternoon.

We are in a wonderful season in this nation.

We had Cindy Jacobs visit Kenya in August and God is sending great men in this land and we believe that good things are on the way, if they are not already on the way, amen.

We had Dr Rodney, also Rodney Horward, and remember the Holy Ghost fire.

I don't know why fire is coming so much today.

Then we have the Rema feast.

It is not by coincidence that we have such great men and women coming to this nation.

Therefore, it is important that we are sensitive to the spirit of God at work in this nation and let us be men and women who understand the times and the seasons that we are in today.

Let's also remember to pray for our senior pastor during this time, as he's waiting on the Lord concerning the team vision for 2024.

Let's continue uplifting him before the Lord.

This afternoon, I bring us a message empowered relationships, unity of the body.

Empowered relationships, unity of the body.

And as I was preparing this message, I happen to look at my hand.

Maybe you can look at your left hand, if you have it, I'm sure you do and especially those who are married, you will realize there is a metal around one finger, only one finger.

But for the ladies I know there could be many, because I know there is the one for the wedding day and the one for that special occasion.

So there are many, but it so happens that this is the finger with the ring.

The rest don't have, for the men, that is.

Then we have the small finger, which I don't know why it was made small, still a small finger right.

Then we have the ring finger, which is at dawn with the ring, and then we have the middle finger and it looks like a staircase, but then we go down with the index finger and the thumb.

Different, unique and sometimes, when you look at even your skin tone.

I think when God was creating some people, he took a lot of black cotton soil and some it was red, others it was I don't know.

Is there any white soil?

Maybe there is, I'm not sure.

What am I saying?

I'm talking about the diversity of God and the way we are different and unique in our own ways.

Relationships thrive when there is unity and when there is harmony, when individual uniqueness just like the uniqueness in my hand when the individual uniqueness is aligned to God's purpose, when our individual uniqueness and why the worship team was leading us in the worship.

You could hear the individual uniqueness in their voices.

We have the soprano, the alto and the others.

It is the uniqueness of the sound that is coming out of that worship that speaks about how different we can be but yet unique and aligned in the purposes of God.

Unique and aligned in raising up a worship to the Lord, different, unique by the purposes of God being realized.

For relationships to thrive, god must be in the equation, and I'm speaking about this because God is all knowing.

God is present in every situation and God has a good plan for you.

That's why you are here and because of that, then, we must be aligned to God's will and to God's purpose at every place where our relationships are concerned, starting from the family.

There is what the Bible talks about the family.

At our places, you know, in fellowships.

For relationships to thrive, god must be in the equation.

His will, his work, his purpose must have proeminence.

His will, his work and even his purpose, and not and not his endorsement of our will and our work, not the endorsement of our will.

As long as our will is aligned to his will, which is in his word, it is fine Because it is in accordance to his will.

But otherwise, for relationships to thrive, we must be able to align to God's purpose and we must be able to align to his will, to his work and to his intention.

In our lives, we can have difference in convictions, we can differ in opinions, but still have Christ's exulting motive in what we do.

Remember, thomas could not believe that Jesus would be raised from the dead.

Very different opinion from the reality.

Remember Peter saying Jesus, you will not die on the cross.

A very different persuasion.

And yet we still have another one called Judas S.

Are you saying S Karaoke?

I had somebody say it S Karaoke.

Because of the many parts of Judas, I sometimes ask myself how was Jesus managing with these characters?

Very different, very unique, very interesting characters, but yet, when it comes to the fulfillment of God's will and God's work, nothing would stop them, as much as they were unique in their differences, in their personalities, in their character.

Peter was crucified upside down because of this cause.

Paul also died the same because of this cause the unity of the body.

In Acts, chapter 2, verse 1, in the King James Version it says this verse 1 and 2 and 3.

And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord.

They were together as one, united in mind, in body and in spirit.

One, one accord and in one place.

Then, suddenly, there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind and it filled all the house where they were sitting and there appeared into them cloven tongues like a fire, and it sat upon each one of them.

The important thing to note there is that they were of one accord, they were of one mind, they were in one place, and I'm not saying that for the spirit of God to move we must be in one place.

We can be different places, but the Holy Spirit is still moving.

But the important thing is that we must maintain the unity of the spirit in our homes, because we are relating with our spouses, at our places of work, because that is where we are spending most of our time during the day, and even in the fellowship of the brethren.

I remember Pastor Simon sharing last week, and there was this statement that he gave we must go back to the cross to find our way.

When we have lost our way, when there has been a situation that will cause us not to move together, probably within the family unit, probably within the work stations or in the marketplace, within the people that you're handling or dealing with every day, it will be good for us to go back to the cross and find our way.

Charles Padion, one of the great evangelists, said this Satan always, always hates Christian fellowships.

It is his policy to keep Christians apart, anything which can divide saints from one another, he delights in it.

So when you're not united in the family, when you're not one with your husband, when you're not one with your wife, when you're not one with your children, when in your office you're not able to work well with your colleagues, and even sometimes within the fellowship, when there's a situation, probably it is not about those people, it is about the enemy who comes to steal, to kill and to destroy.

The Raita says anything which can divide us and cause us to walk different ways is what makes the devil happy.

But he says, since union is strength, the devil does his best to promote separation and even divorce.

The devil does his best to make sure that the family is broken, that there's a broken relationship.

So the purpose and the agenda of God does not prevail.

And we are here to say that we must promote the unity of the body.

We must promote the unity of the body of Christ, starting from the home, where relationships and values are built, to the workplaces, where everything is demonstrated, and even in the fellowship that we have, the place where there is strengthening of the faith.

As we minister one to another, the disciples have different personalities, convictions, faith and even character.

We must choose, we must be deliberate and intentional to choose to focus on what keeps us together.

We must choose, we must be deliberate, we must be intentional to focus on what keeps us together.

And I disagree.

I disagree with my wife many times and you may be wondering, but see how I disagree with your wife.

I disagree with my wife sometimes, especially because of colors, and sometimes I'm seeing blue.

My wife is seeing green and we disagree because he's called she's me, I'm seeing blue.

She's saying it's magenta and for men we only know three colors Black, white and red.

Now, when I'm being told that it is green and I'm seeing blue, we disagree, but we don't become disagreeable.

One of the places we disagree is also when I'm driving, especially when we are late for the church and I'm so fast.

It tells me Kimani, watch out, you are over speeding.

And I believe many men can attest to that, that our wives, especially mine, is my speed police, yeah, slow down.

And then my son is saying daddy, overtake 20,.

You know, boys, step on the gas.

Yes, different in value.

And my wife is telling me why are you rushing?

God knew we are going to be going to church at this time and he has even prepared a parking for you.

Yeah, the excitement of speed.

Different opinion, but yet we are one.

And that doesn't mean I don't love my wife, but sometimes I want to speed.

Yeah, and even sometimes the diversity that we have as the body of Christ can be very unique.

And let that be a point of strength, because the Bible needed people like Thomas who would say hey, I can imagine their conversation, I'm not a dead body, it will not happen.

And he's even asking Jesus we don't know where you are going.

Show us the way, doubting Thomas.

And then Jesus says John 14, 6, I am the way, the truth and the life.

No one comes to the Father, but by me.

If he was not a doubting Thomas, how would that verse, how would that verse have come out?

What about Peter?

Every time he wants to, you know he's always the first one to speak and I know that the disciples have really been having a discussion about him.

It's just about him, you know.

I'm sure they were saying God's a woman, he'll go down, and I'm sure the rest were just watching.

But remember, in that uniqueness, did Peter walk on water or not?

So characters like those ones are good, but don't pick the character of Judas, please.

It's not a good one, but remember he was also among the twelve, meaning there was grace sufficient for him to be redeemed.

Amen, hallelujah.

There was sufficient grace, but it was by choice that he chose the other way.

We need not all agree, but if we disagree, let us not be disagreeable in our disagreement.

We must speak the key values and core values of the ministry and calling and understand.

There are uncompromising places that you can say we put our differences aside and pursue this course because it is good for you, it is good for me and God desires that we move in that direction.

Amen.

Let me share with us three points as we dial into the unity of the body.

Number one we must have genuine love for God and for one another.

In the unity of the bond of peace and in finding unity in God and in the body.

We must have genuine love for God and for one another, genuine love.

We cannot say we love God and hate his image.

I love God but I hate.

How can you love God and hate his image?

How, how can you love Jesus but hate those Jesus love died for?

How, how can you say you love God and you are hating your enemy, while you should be loving them?

Why are you saying you love God and you hate your brother and you hate your sister?

We cannot say that we love God and hate his image.

I want you to look at your neighbor, the one sitting next to you.

You are seeing the image of God, because God has created us in his image and in his likeness.

We have to love each other because that is what God expects of us and, most importantly, we that are of the household of faith.

First John 4.7, when we just want to hear what the Bible says about loving God and how we need to love each other, behold, let us love one another.

It doesn't say let us hate one another.

It says let us love one another, for love is off and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.

So it means that if you don't love, you are not of God and you do not know God.

Is it true about you?

Is it true about me he who does not love does not know God.

So if you really know God, you must love, for God is love.

So how can you not love his image?

In John 13, 34 and 35, there is a new command that God has given us, a new command in the New Testament John 13, 34 and 35.

Let's read together A new command.

Some of you know only the 10 commandments.

This is a commandment of the New Testament, a new commandment I II, ii.

By this, by this, a new command I give you Love one another as I have loved you.

Please go back to the beginning of that verse, verse 34.

A new command I give you that you love one another as I have loved you, that you also love one another.

We have an obligation and a responsibility towards love, that we need to love one another.

And loving one another is not just by saying words, but by action.

Love is an verb, it's an action God so loved that he gave it's a new command.

Because we are of God, because we are born of God, we ought to love one another.

Is there somebody you're not feeling good about?

And probably they're in the church, and probably they're in your fellowship, or probably in your family or probably at the place of work.

How will they know Jesus if you're not showing them your love?

Remember, the unbelievers don't read the Bible because they are called unbelievers.

They don't believe we are the Bible they are reading.

We ought to love them as we love one another.

In Acts 4.32 to 36 we'll read about the church, the early church in the book of Acts, and how love was demonstrated.

Maybe if you can give us Acts 4.30.

Now, all the believers were one in heart.

Remember the unity we spoke about.

One in heart and mind.

No one claimed that any of the opposition was their own.

Now, if anybody claims that whatever they have is not theirs In this dispensation, hello, if we were put in that dispensation and everything we have we say it is not ours, will we have the discipline enough not to take anything that does not belong to us?

Will we be willing enough to surrender and say, yes, I've given, and it is true.

But they shared everything they had.

And if the Bible is saying this, it is true, they shared everything they had.

With great power, their apostles continued to testify to their resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and God's grace was so powerful at working them that there were no needy persons.

There were no needy persons among them.

No needy persons, no need to ask for the food bank, because we are covering each other with that love of God.

Well, let me challenge you as I challenge myself.

Look at your wardrobe.

Today we are wearing gongas and some of you this morning were really struggling to push your clothes so that you can be able to get what you need.

That wardrobe has more than you need.

Pastor Edith is asking you to kindly donate some clothes.

Somebody else needs them.

How about shoes?

Your shoe rack is overflowing Now.

Even the shoes are all over the place.

Please, please, please, give them away.

Somebody else needs them.

Food Some of us are throwing away food, throwing away food.

Other people are praying for that food.

Let us give food to the hungry.

Let us show love.

Love must be practical.

There is a watchman, there is a street boy.

You can pack that food and give it to them as a ministry.

Can you make that your ministry?

Let me tell you one of the secrets I have and my children, like you know, laughing about it, but it's interesting Yesterday, while I was shopping at the supermarket it is normally my practice, but when I will see anybody carrying one or two items that I can afford, I will pay for them and I always do that and I feel so good because I am blessing someone else.

So yesterday, while I was shopping, there was this lady who had carried some wheat flour and so, while they were checking mine, I told her you know, check in yours.

Then she was looking at me wondering what's wrong with you.

I told her you know, I am not a farmer, I don't know what I am doing.

So they passed the flour.

Then I told her.

Then they told me you know, I am not a farmer.

We were just buying water with my son, so we took the water.

We told the lady you know, you take it.

She looked at me so shocked.

You know, these days people think that when you are doing something you will be ashamed.

You will be ashamed.

And I said you know, I am just being generous.

If we all did that, if you all, if we all did that, can't you just have a heart of compassion?

And let me tell you, one of the sins of Sodom and Gomorrah was not just about that sin, that we all know.

It is because there were hungry people in an nearby village and they never ministered to them.

It says somebody hungry around where you are, and even in this congregation.

May we minister to them also, amen.

Have genuine love for God and for other people.

And secondly, cultivate mutual honor.

Cultivate mutual honor.

Let's learn to honor others, Especially those we don't identify as part of the big picture of the whole.

For example, when we stand here to preach, the limelight is on pastors and people, decos and leaders, but do you know?

That's when you realize that she takes care of your socks.

There are boils, yeah, and then that milk I'm taking it from the packet.

When did you last call them?

You need to honor them, you need to love them, you need to take care of them and probably you are in this service.

Honor your father and mother, because it is the right thing to do.

It pleases God.

It is the commandment attached to a blessing.

Why are you letting your blessing just go, instead of you just calling them, telling them Daddy, I love you, mommy, I love you.

I appreciate you.

Buy them a gift, buy them a shirt, buy them a tie, buy them lunch.

Treat them well.

Cultivate mutual honor.

Devoted Romans 12,.

Devoted to one another.

Devote to one another in love.

Honor one another above yourselves.

It's about others more than us.

May we cultivate mutual honor and finally pursue forbearance and tolerance.

Pursue it is not easy.

You have to pursue it.

Pursue forbearance and tolerance.

Tolerance is not forgiveness.

Forgiveness is pardoning for our own, committed to another with the hope that it will not happen again.

So you're forgiving this person with the hope that it will not happen again.

Does it happen again?

Yes, so if it does happen again, then what do you do.

The Bible says forgive and do not take their account.

Keep forgiving, because God has forgiven you much.

We need to forgive as well.

Forbearance is creating a system of accommodating the weakness of others.

You know, having that ability to create a system that accommodates the weakness of others and I'm not saying the sin of others, it is their weakness that you're accommodating, not the sin.

You see, if your wife talks too much or if your husband talks too much, you know, maybe that is their weakness.

Ask me, I have a speed police woman in my house, so I have to remember your speed, ita kikani.

So I have to throw the line.

Well, that is the way she is.

I have to understand that, even when I want to enjoy driving very fast, come on in Likwambia, slow down.

Forbearance, creating a system of accommodating others' weakness this does not mean that we accommodate sin.

As I wind up, the Bible says, therefore as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, close yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.

Bear with each other and forgive one another.

If any of you has grievances against someone.

Forgive, as the Lord has forgiven you, you know.

Let's make peace.

This is a revival hero, william J S M O.

He says this I say through the power of the Holy Spirit that wherever God can get a people that will come together in one accord and one mind In the word of God, the baptism of the Holy Spirit will fall upon them, like us at Cornelius's home.

So it means this that when we walk together, even in our homes, the Holy Spirit will come and visit us.

We are the temples of the Holy Spirit.

Therefore, we cannot allow ourselves to be having differences.

If we start thinking like that from the home, this will be a place where the Spirit of God is ministering and angels ascend and descend.

I can imagine angels descending and they are finding commotion and fireworks in the house.

They go back to God and say well, I think, leo, let's wait, we need to do a fire drill because they have escaped in the different exit points.

Hallelujah, may we bear with one another, have genuine love for God and for one another, Cultivate mucho honor, pursue forbearance and tolerance.

We are stronger together.

We must be intentional and deliberate in keeping the unity of the body and focus on our strengths and not on our weaknesses, because God desires that we walk together this journey and everyone in this journey matters.

Everyone matters.

In the US Army, the usualist have this saying we will not leave anyone behind.

Maybe not leave anyone behind and as we wind up in this season of empowered relationships, if you've not given your life to Jesus Christ, if you've not received Jesus as your personal savior, the Bible says in John, chapter 1, verse 12, that as many that believed him and received him, he gave them the right to become the children of God.

John 1:12

That means God cannot be your father if you have not received Jesus as your personal savior.

You have a relationship problem.

You cannot go all God your father.

You are not his son.

You must believe in Jesus as your personal savior and have a personal relationship with him and become his son and he will become your father.

Help us to pursue forbearance and tolerance, because we all fall short in different ways.

Help us, o Lord, in our weaknesses.

Help us, o God, to remember that in our weakness we are strong when we focus on you.

O Lord, any place where we are faltered or fallen, any place where we are locked in forgiveness, where we have not been able to do that which is right, that which releases you, any place at our homes, in our places where we have been agents of this unity, o God, I pray that your visitation will happen and that some 133 will be a reality, that you rejoice when brothers and sisters dwell together in unity.

For there you will command your blessing, lord.
