September Theme Vision Week 4; Understanding God as Our Father: The Provider, Protector, Sustainer, and Giver

How are you?

I hope you've had a great day during this season of empowered relationships, and during this season we are focusing on relationships, and for today, I want us to look at God as our Father.

In James, chapter 1, verse 17, the Bible says Every good and perfect gift comes from above, from the Father of lights, in whom there is no variableness or shadow of turning.

James 1:17

It talks about God being our Father.

And have you ever come to imagine that the Creator of the world, the Maker of everything, the omnipotent, omnipresent, almighty, god, is our Father?

Just to understand that this faith, the Christian faith, is a relational faith.

That is why we call God our Father.

In fact, there are many songs that we talk about our Father, just saying God is our Father.

I want us to see the importance of God being and he is indeed our Father Number one.

God is our Provider.

One of the important things that our Father does is that our Father provides, and in Philippians 419, the Bible says that the Lord shall provide all your needs according to his riches in glory through Christ Jesus.

So God provides and he will provide and meet you at your point of need as a good Father, because he is one that is good, and good all the time, especially in the seasons that life can be very challenging.

The economic situations can be tough, but God is our source, god is our Provider.

The Bible also says in Psalms 34, verse 20, that the Lord is our Protector and none of our bones will be broken.

Psalms 34:20

He will protect the righteous and their bones will not be broken.

He is the God who protects you in your going, in your coming.

He will watch over you.

He is the good Shepherd of the sheep.

He will indeed take care of you.

And finally, in understanding that God is our Father, he will sustain us, he will keep us going.

We will not faint, we will not fall.

Our help comes from the Lord, psalm 121, the Maker of heaven.

And looking at creation, we can find fulfillment and satisfaction in knowing that the Lord opens his hands from Psalm 145, verse 16, and satisfies every created thing.

Can you imagine that?

That the Lord opens his hands and satisfies the desires of every created thing, then that is a good God.

The Bible again, in conclusion, says that he's the giver of everything.

Everything belongs to him, everything belongs to our Father the earth, the heaven and its fullness.

Indeed, we can look at the relationship we have with God as our Father and find hope for every situation that we face.

Indeed, god is almighty, he's all powerful, but, more importantly, he is our Father.

And may the Lord bless you as you consider this very important truth that God is indeed our Father.
