-
I greet you in the name of Jesus Christ and welcome to this month of November.
-
As we talk about empowered breakthroughs, a very interesting scripture in 2 Samuel, chapter 5, verse 20, and the Bible says so David went to Baal perazim and David defeated them there and he said the Lord has broken through my enemies before me like a breakthrough of waters.
-
Therefore he called the name of that place Baal perazim.
-
Perazim is where we get the word breakthroughs.
-
Baal just means Lord, and so David was calling that place a place of breakthroughs.
-
I believe, as we walk into this month of November, god is taking us to places of breakthroughs and the Lord himself is going before us and he is going to become our breakthrough.
-
In the Bible we have seen quite a number of people that God showed his breakthroughs.
-
One of those people was Joseph, the other one was David and the other one was Esther.
-
To start with Joseph.
-
Joseph experienced many challenging seasons of his life.
-
God gave him dreams that one day he would be a king, a man of authority.
-
He shared that dream with his family, but his family did not accept.
-
Much later the brothers got upset with him and they sold him and he was taken to Egypt.
-
But in Egypt.
-
He was sold to a family of potifer and the Bible tells us in Genesis 39 that Joseph found favor with potifer and the Lord blessed him, for the Lord was with him.
-
You may find yourself in a place of many challenges.
-
Like Joseph, you have a vision, you have a dream and you're wondering.
-
Nobody seems to accept that dream and then you're placed in situations where you believe that your vision will never become a reality.
-
But the Bible says the Lord was with Joseph and the Lord blessed him and God gave him favor with potifer.
-
I want to believe this month that the Lord is going to be with you the way he was with Joseph, and you're going to have empowered breakthroughs in ways you cannot imagine, as the Lord was with Joseph in potifer's house.
-
May the Lord be with you.
-
The second pattern is David.
-
David faced a goliath.
-
David is 17,.
-
Goliath is an experienced warrior.
-
Everybody else is scared of goliath, but David remembered, and this scripture says it in Psalms 20, verse 7.
-
Some trust in chariots and some trust in horses, but we shall trust in the name of the Lord, our God.
-
And David's story was a story that, with a sling and with a stone, goliath came down.
-
You may be wondering that what you have can it bring you breakthroughs?
-
Let me tell you this it is not the sling or the stone that brought that breakthrough.
-
It was the Lord, who was with David, that brought the breakthrough.
-
Esther is also a person who experienced breakthrough.
-
She's an orphan girl, she's in a foreign country.
-
She comes before the king and she finds favor with the king.
-
And the Bible says in Esther, chapter 2, verse 17, that Esther found favor with the king and he became the queen of that land.
-
Who knows what God has in store for you this month?
-
Who knows what God has in store for you this week?
-
Because the Lord is our breakthrough.
-
The Lord goes before us.
-
He went before Joseph, he went before David, he went before Esther.
-
May the Lord go before you because the Lord is your breakthrough.
-
Believe him, trust him and take that step, because this week, this month, the Lord shall be your breakthrough.
-
May God richly bless you.
