-
Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to another episode of Commission Thursday, where we believe that every believer is the light, every believer is the salt, every believer is Christ and Berserder and every believer is the carrier of the message of good news.
-
So turn with me.
-
In the book of Luke, chapter 10, verses 18 to 20.
-
I'll read from the NIV 1984.
-
The scripture says he replied.
-
Verse 18,.
-
He replied I saw Satan fall like a lightning from heaven.
-
Verse 19,.
-
I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy.
-
Nothing will harm you, verse 20,.
-
However, do not rejoice that the Spirit submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven, I think.
-
Let me pick it up from verse 20.
-
The scripture says that even the Spirit submit to man, and you know many other times.
-
We live in a moment whereby people have magnified the things, the philosophies and the things that are happening.
-
People have amplified and magnified the fake miracles and people have magnified things that are not worthy.
-
And the God is making it so clear through His Word in the book of Luke, chapter 10, verse 19, that even the Spirit, all the spirits, will submit to you.
-
But he says that you should not rejoice by the fact that the Spirit submit to you, but rejoice by the fact that your names are written in the book of life.
-
So, furtherings, I want you to understand as well that will help us to ensure that our names are written in the book of life.
-
Before we talk of these authority that we've received from God, we must ensure that the four things are in order.
-
Number one is His sovereignty.
-
He is a sovereign God.
-
He is a holy God.
-
He is a God with a pure intention.
-
He is a God who is giving us authority.
-
He is giving us authority from the fact of who he is.
-
So we are an extension, we are the carriers of these authority that God carry.
-
So unless we reach that point, we acknowledge His sovereignty, his power, his holiness, his wisdom and all that is able to do, we cannot work in the authority of God.
-
Number two is about my purity.
-
For the sovereignty of God to be evident in my life, I must live a pure life.
-
I must work in purity.
-
I remember those days in chemistry the teacher used to tell us there is a difference between purity and cleanliness.
-
There is some that is clean but is not pure.
-
But the moment something is pure is some that is not contaminated.
-
So this work of faith is a work that is not contaminated, this lifestyle of faith you must have, an uplifted lifestyle that glorifies God, that honors God, that values people for who they are Now, after working and acknowledging the sovereignty of God, living your life in purity.
-
The third thing is my responsibility.
-
It is my responsibility and your responsibility to get out of the comfort zone to ensure that this gospel of God is shared with people In various platforms that they are in.
-
So our responsibility is for us to take action.
-
Those verses that you've learned, those memory verses that you have in your heart, do you always execute them?
-
That message that the preacher shared and you say like this is my message.
-
What next did you do with that message?
-
Every time we say that I am the light of the world, what responsibility are you taking?
-
We say we are the salt of the earth.
-
What responsibility are you taking?
-
Because, finally, the reason why we must take responsibility is because, where majority are, our assignment is to reach majority.
-
The scripture says that one of the things that God desires is that the knowledge of God will cover the earth as water covers the sea, that this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed to each and every person, everywhere, in different places of atmosphere.
-
They'll be able to relate and see this gospel.
-
So it is our responsibility to get out and reach the majority where they are.
-
The skills and the avenues that we have is to reach them where they are.
-
So this week's challenge, as you purpose to live your life and to explore a lot as a personal life, also purpose to share this gospel with people and show that you are the light, you are the salt and you carry this message to every person who needs it.
-
Be blessed.
