March Week 1 Commission Thursday: Living Out Loud: Reflecting a Mountain-Moving Faith and Sacrificial Love

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to another episode of Commissioned as Day, where we believe that every believer is a light, every believer is the salt, every believer is Christ and Berserder and every believer is the carrier of the message of good news.

So in this episode I just want to focus on one thing Can anyone testify of your faith?

So turn with me.

In the book of 1 Thessalonians, chapter 1, verse 3.

1 Thessalonians 1:3

The scripture says remembering, without seizing, your work of faith, labor of love and patience of hope in our Lord, jesus Christ, in the sight of our God and Father, knowing, beloved brethren, your election by God.

So this is protestifying that he can fully remember, he can vividly remember of the faith of the Thessalonians.

And as he's talking about the faith of the Thessalonians, few things are coming out.

I just wanted to focus on the four things.

Number one he's talking about are your work of faith.

I know many other times we say that we are in the faith.

Many other times we talk about probably we reached out and we share the gospel.

And the question is can anyone testify of your work of faith?

Can somebody look at you and say that I am a product of what this person did to me because of their reach out or the way they worked with me throughout the discipleship journey.

I am the product of their faith, or can somebody testify that I used to have this particular challenge, but I was deeply convinced by your faith and that is why I am standing today, because their faith can testify and that is why there is somebody standing today, because one day, there is a day, we will give account of every action that we had to take, of our work of faith.

The second thing that he's talking about is the labor of love.

I know we live in a generation and a time whereby, this time, love has really been misinterpreted, but let's focus on the genuine love, the unconditional love that Jesus Christ demonstrated unto us, and the next thing that he command us is to also extend this love to others.

In the book of 1st John, chapter 3, verses 16, the scripture says that if we love others, we ought to lay our life down for others.

John 3:16

I don't know if that can be testified about you, because you are in faith, because you are a Christian.

Can somebody say that this particular day you made this particular sacrifice because of them?

Because the best way that we can be the salt, we can be the light is when we are able to lay our life down so that others can try to throw it the same way Jesus Christ did for us, and through that we can continue with the great assignment of the great commission that God entrusted us with.

And the third thing that he is talking about is about the patience of hope.

I know we live in a time whereby we have been taught and we have this system whereby we just have it and we get it, so we don't understand the value of the virtue of patience, that we can endure something until we see the fullness of time and learn the entire process.

In the book of 1st Timothy, 2nd Timothy, chapter 2, verses 3, the scripture talks about endure hardship as a fellow soldier, and sometimes we don't have that endurance and if we are enduring, we are nagging.

The scripture says that we ought to endure with hope, that we are so optimistic that this particular thing will come out.

Let me tell you the truth Probably some of the people are not in faith because they cannot see how you endured and that has not been a good lesson for them.

So endure to learn and endure with hope so that others can come to the faith.

And final thing that he is talking about is the election that God elected us.

God handpicked us, that is, you and me as the vessels that he ought to use in this particular time.

So don't waste that opportunity that, out of the millions abillions in this continent, god desires to work with you.

So be available vessel that God can use to glorify the kingdom of God and through that you can be the light, be the salt, be the ambassador of this good news and carry this message to everywhere God has planted you Through love, through hope and understanding that you've been elected by God himself.
