March Week 2 Commission Thursday: Embracing a Life of Significance and Sacrifice: Reflecting on Legacy and the Wisdom of Psalms 90:12

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to another episode of Commission Thursday, where we believe that every believer is a light, every believer is the salt, every believer is Christ ambassador and every believer is the carrier of the message of good news.

So one of the 18th century missionary by the name City Star, he says that one of the quotes.

He says that if Jesus Christ be God and he died for me, then he says there is no other sacrifice that I can make that is greater for him.

And as I was thinking of this, I know sometimes we've lived in a life that we've never valued the sacrifice that we make for the kingdom of God.

And that's where I just want us to look at the book of Psalms, chapter 90, verses 12.

Psalms 90:12

The scripture says teach us to number our days.

So teach us to number our days so that we may cultivate and bring to you a heart of wisdom.

Teach us to number our days, many of us, especially Christian, by the fact that we're born again and we know our purpose.

We live a life with this assumption that as long as I'm living a life of significance, all is well and we are not mindful of the bigger picture that God had in store for us.

So when City Star was talking about there is no sacrifice that I can make that can equate to the sacrifice that Jesus Christ has made for me I thought of these two words Number one, the sacrifice, and number two, the significance.

I know it's so good and so important to have a life of significance, but beyond the significance, I wanted to live a life of sacrifice, not because you want it or you are enjoying it, but what the kingdom needs, and that is for you to be the light and to be the salt.

When we are able to live this life of sacrifice, we are able to get out of our comfort zone and reach out to other people who have not seen or have not heard about the gospel of Jesus Christ.

And these calls for us to understand the urgency of this matter.

Now.

Urgency is when we are able to go out of our comfort zone to ensure that this gospel reaches to everyone, because very soon time will elapse and whatever we are enjoying right now will not be a normal thing for us.

I know when COVID came that's one of the lessons that we learned that I need to learn my days.

I need to maximize on the opportunities and the privilege that I have today, because tomorrow I'm not as sure of what I will have.

And as we talk of this urgency, it's good for us to be activated and to do that which God expects for us in this particular time and season.

In this particular time, as we are enjoying the urgency, as we are talking of the urgency, it's good also to acknowledge that we are having the mercy of God.

The mercy of God has been released for us and this mercy has been poured to each and every person, and your brother, your siblings, they are all enjoying the mercy of God.

It's my prayer that you will maximize the opportunity and extend this love of God to these people while the mercy of God is still sufficient, because very soon you will not have the privilege, or they will not have the privilege of hearing this gospel.

So, in this particular season, let God teach you on how to number your day so that you will live a life of significance and, above all, you will go a notch higher, a notch higher, and pay the sacrifice for this gospel to reach you everyone.
