August Theme Vision Week 1: The Transformative Power of the Holy Spirit's Intercession

I greet you and bless you in the mighty name of our Lord and Savior, jesus Christ, and I bring you a devotion titled Uplifted Kingdom Intercession.

And today my focus is intercession by the Holy Spirit, which is the highest form of intercession.

I want you to know that heaven is praying for you and therefore heaven is interceding for you.

You are very important to heaven and I am very important to heaven, and that is why heaven takes time to pray for you and pray for me.

Intercession is when somebody else stands in the place of prayer on your behalf, but in today's devotion, it is heaven in the place of prayer because of you.

I'll read scriptures from the book of Romans, chapter 8, verse 26 and verse 27.

This is what the Bible says, niv version.

In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness.

We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself, the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans, and he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God's people in accordance to the will of God.

The Holy Spirit intercession, and there are three things I want to say about this intercession.

This intercession has a language, this intercession has an understanding and this intercession has a will.

And so we are looking at the language of intercession, the understanding of intercession and the will of intercession.

When heaven intercedes, heaven intercedes with a language beyond human language and sometimes when you come to the place of prayer, you reach a place where your vocabulary kind of disappears and you don't know which next words to actually pray.

And that's how come some people end up now praying in tongues and you get to a place where now you cannot speak the language people understand and you start now praying hurabashanda, kuribashanda, and you start now praying.

And there is a place in the realm of prayer where words cannot get you, but the Holy Spirit, according to the scriptures here, intercedes for us with sighs too deep for words.

And so there is a language of intercession by heaven and by the Holy Spirit that human language is not able to reach.

Secondly, I want to say there is the understanding of the Holy Spirit intercession.

The Holy Spirit knows what I need, more than I probably know what I need, because God sees the future, the far future, and he knows what I need now to get me to that destiny.

And so when the Holy Spirit begins to intercede, he intercedes with that destiny in mind and is able to pray the prayer you cannot pray.

Heaven understands what you need and heaven is praying so that you get that which you really really need.

But finally, of course, there is the will of this intercession, just as what we read there.

God has a will and he would like our lives aligned to his will.

In the Lord's Prayer we pray Thy will be done on earth as it is done in heaven, and heaven has a will.

The Holy Spirit, when he's interceding, he prays according to the will of heaven, and so when he prays for you, it's so that you can be aligned with the will of God.

And today I want to invite you to understand first of all, that heaven is praying for you, but also align yourself with the prayer that the Holy Spirit is praying for you.

So God is praying through the Holy Spirit and he's praying with a language that is called deeper than words.

He's praying with an understanding of your need and he's praying so that you are aligned to God's will.

May you submit to the prayer of the Holy Spirit.
