  1. Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to another episode of Commission Thursday, where we believe that every believer is the light, every believer is Christ's ambassador, every believer is the carrier of the message of good news.

  2. It's another opportunity for us to go deeper into the Word of God and ask ourselves why is God?

  3. Why did God entrust us with this great commission?

  4. So turn with me to the book of 2 Timothy 1, verse 6.

    2 Timothy 1:6

  5. 2 Timothy 1, verse 6, and I will read from the Amplified Version and the scripture says of God that, in a fire, the special endowment which is in you, through the laying on of my hands with those of the elders at your ordination, hallelujah.

    2 Timothy 1:6

  6. Every time I read this portion of scripture, I receive something new that God entrusts me with.

  7. So let me break it down into four points.

  8. Point number one it is a reminder.

  9. Why is God reminding us?

  10. Because God knows that this thing is in us.

  11. It is in our ability, the fact that you are a Christian.

  12. The grace of God is upon you, the anointing of God is upon you and the power of God is upon you.

  13. And even as all this is upon us, he is calling us and reminding us of three things.

  14. So the first thing that he is reminding us about is about the ignition he says that fan into flame.

  15. In other words, he says set on fire.

  16. I know there is a grace of God upon you that God wants you to set on fire, that everybody around you will see the grace of God upon you, that everybody around you will have to experience the power of God that is working in you and through you.

  17. But for the people around you to see it, you must set it on fire.

  18. So there is a wake-up call for us that arise.

  19. Set it on fire, let there be an ignition for you to set up on fire something of God that is in you.

  20. It's so unfortunate that many of us are so cold, not only in church but even out there.

  21. But God did not call us to be cold Christians, but God called us to be on fire for him.

  22. He called us to set this world ablaze with the wire of God.

  23. He says, when Jesus Christ came, that he came to set the generation on fire In the same assignment that Christ came to fulfill.

  24. He entrusted it with us so that we can continue with it.

  25. So be on fire for God.

  26. Number two, after the ignition, is about the intention.

  27. If we are, we feel on fire and we do not understand the intention of God, we will miss it.

  28. So for us to be on fire for God, we must ask ourselves what is the intention of God?

  29. Why did God entrust me with this family?

  30. Why did God entrust me with this business?

  31. Why did God entrust me with this business?

  32. Why did God entrust me with this opportunity?

  33. Because every opportunity, every privilege that comes on our way, there is an intention for God, there is a plan and the purpose of God to fulfill something in us and through us.

  34. But if we may fail to see the intention of God, we will never be on fire for God and we will miss it.

  35. Because be on fire for God, but even as we are on fire for God, ask yourself what's the intention of God upon everything in your life and the area that's around you.

  36. And number three is about the generation.

  37. He talks about, that this thing that we have today was handed over down to us through other people who laid their hands on us.

  38. For example, I serve in mission department and a pastor victim, and I know we all are.

  39. Then there is a Reverend Ambrose who also follows us.

  40. So there is a chain of things that follow.

  41. So anytime God wants to minister, he renews his anointing and his grace upon this hierarchy.

  42. Why?

  43. Because there is a generation that relies on what we carry.

  44. So God was so intentional to give us something for our generation and the generation to come, because the things that we do today, the achievement that we have today, they are those people who went ahead of us, that they laid the foundation for us.

  45. So we are celebrating and we are thriving on their sweat, and it is also our responsibility to lay a foundation for the next generation that will follow, because they need to enjoy our sweat through what we are doing today.

  46. Let me tell you, people, this being none of us is a mistake.

  47. Every one of us has a responsibility.

  48. So this responsibility calls for us to carry these things that we have into the dark world.

  49. So carry your light, be on fire for God, know the intentions of God upon the place that God has planted you and be sensitive to the generation that you're serving and the next generation that is watching upon you, because that is the call that we have and because of that call, we cannot afford to be passive and stay in our comfort, but we must get out of our comfort and carry this light of God to the dark world and be blessed.
