October Week 4 Theme Vision: Embracing a Spirit-Filled Life: Transformative Teachings from Ephesians and Philippians

Greetings everybody and praise the Lord.

It's such a joy to share with us God's Word this wonderful week, even as we continue to expound open durability, uplifted kingdom power.

Let me read from God's Word in the book of Ephesians, chapter 5, verse 18 to 21,.

Ephesians 5:18–21

And this is what Scripture says and do not be drunk with wine in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, giving thanks always for all things to God, the Father.

You see, many of us believers often tend to view the Holy Spirit as a Jewess in this verse, juice in this glass, that he is in diminishing and decreasing capacity.

But guess what?

That's not the case.

The Holy Spirit is God in us, the Holy Spirit is God at work in us and through us.

When Scripture says, be filled with the Holy Spirit, scripture is inviting us to allow the Holy Spirit to control us, to direct us, to guide us and to influence our lives.

And when we are Spirit-filled, number one, we will speak to one another.

Number two, we will sing out to the Lord.

And number three, we will submit to one another.

And so, number one, speak to one another, and scripture says speak to one another in psalms.

And scripture says we will speak words of faith.

We will speak uplifting words one to one another.

Ephesians 4.29 says Let no corrupt talk proceed from your lips, except that which will build others up and edify them and minister grace to them.

May we allow the Holy Spirit to use our words to build others up and to nurture relationships.

Secondly, when we are filled by the Holy Spirit, we will sing to the Lord, and this is to encourage you.

This has got nothing so much to do with your singing ability, but everything to do with having an attitude of gratitude.

God listens to the melody of your heart.

Scripture says again in Psalm 103, verse 1 and 2, bless the Lord, o my soul, all my inmost being.

Psalms 103:1

Bless his holy name.

Bless the Lord, o my soul, and forget not all his benefits.

Remember all that God has done for you and give thanks to him.

Give him thanks for the church, give him thanks for our country, give him thanks for your family.

But finally, even as we close, we will submit to one another.

Philippians, chapter 2, verse 3 and 4,.

Philippians 2:3

Paul invites us and says let nothing be done out of selfish ambition, but let's esteem one another and let us consider one another's interest in the fear of the Lord, serving each other to the glory and to the praise of God, our Father.

So the Spirit-filled life.

We will speak to one another to lift them up, we will sing out to the Lord having an attitude of joy and gladness, and we will submit to one another, serving our Lord Jesus Christ.
