February Week 2 Theme Vision: Unpacking Divine Love: The Transformative Gift of John 3:16

Greetings and welcome to the second week of the month of February.

Generally, the month of February is considered to be the month of love, and particularly towards the end of this week there will be love in the air as people exchange gifts and exchange pleasant moments, celebrating one another and celebrating the people that they love the most.

Let me remind you that there is love in the Word of God.

There is a precious gift given to us, called the zoe life eternal life.

The Bible tells us in John, chapter 3, a very famous verse, verse 16, for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Eternal life is the zoe life.

This is the most precious gift that any human being can receive.

It's a gift that is so precious than any other gift you will ever be given by someone else.

And why is it so?

Three characteristics stand out concerning this gift.

That number one it is a gift of God's love.

The Bible says that for God so loved the world, for God so loved you, and maybe even in this month of February, there is no one celebrating you, or no one you are celebrating with.

No one is showing you love.

I am here to tell you that you can never go outside the love of God.

God loves you as you are right now.

In fact, the Bible says in Romans, chapter 5, verse 8, that God has demonstrated his love to us in that, while we were yet sinners, christ died on the cross.

For us, the precious gift of zoe life eternal life is the gift of God's love.

But secondly, it is the gift of God's love, but secondly, it is the gift of God's sacrifice.

This passage continues to say that, for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son.

Only begotten son, what manner of sacrifice for you to receive eternal life.

God gave his best, god gave his all so that today you can receive the zoe life.

It is a high level of sacrifice just for you.

I know somebody this week or this month will go to great heights to gift you something, but it will still not match the heights that God has gone so that he can give you Zoe life.

But thirdly, not only is it the gift of God's love, not only is it the gift of God's sacrifice, it is also the gift of God's redemption.

The verse concludes by saying that, for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but instead receive eternal life.

This gift is a gift that redeems you from death to life.

It's a gift that redeems you from blindness to seeing.

It is a redemptive gift.

It communicates God's love, it demonstrates God's sacrifice, but it also actualizes God's redemption to your life.

Let this month not come to an end without you receiving this precious gift of God's love, god's sacrifice and God's redemption.
