-
Praise the Lord and welcome to this uh last week of the month of May.
-
It has been an amazing month and our theme Liberating Power of Confession, Testimony Connected.
-
And for the rest of this year, I want to encourage you to hold fast to your confession.
-
Hold fast to your confession, the liberating power of confession.
-
Hebrews chapter 10, verse 19.
-
The Bible tells us, therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the most holy place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain that is his body.
-
And since we have a great priest over the house of God, then verse 22 says, Let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience, and having our bodies washed with pure water.
-
And then verse 23 invites us, let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess or to the confession that we have, for he who promised is faithful.
-
I want to invite you for the rest of the year to hold on to your confession.
-
Because of three things.
-
Number one, we have been given access.
-
The Bible tells us that therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the most holy place by the blood of Jesus.
-
The blood of Jesus Christ has given us access to the holy place, to the most holy place.
-
And the most holy place is where God dwells.
-
And so through our confession, we have a confession of hope that we have full access to God through the blood of Jesus Christ.
-
But secondly, because we have a connection.
-
Again, the Bible tells us, and since we have a great priest, great high priest over the house of God, we have one who connects us to this God through his blood, the high priest who is our connection.
-
And therefore, we hold fast to the confession of hope that we have in all seasons and through all circumstances, because we have a connector, we have a connection, and that is the great high priest.
-
But finally, because we have a promise, and this promise is assured.
-
And why is this promise assured?
-
This promise is assured because, again, the Bible tells us that he who promised is faithful.
-
This promise is assured because we have a faithful God on our side, and therefore, throughout this year, hold on to your confession of faith because you have access by the blood of Jesus.
-
Hold on to your confession of hope because you have connection through the great high priest.
-
Hold on to your confession of hope because you have a promise that is assured by this faithful God.
-
May the Lord bless you indeed, and may the Lord show himself mighty on your behalf in Jesus' name.
-
Amen.
