[SPEAKER_01]: Let's turn to first John chapter four verse four.

[SPEAKER_01]: And what you turn to first John chapter four verse four when my all time favorite verses one I say often often.

[SPEAKER_01]: If you could please stand to honor the reading God's word.

[SPEAKER_01]: if you can't understand that.

[SPEAKER_01]: First John chapter four verse four says, you are of God, little children, and have overcome them because he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.

[SPEAKER_01]: God bless and honor the reading of his word and you may be seated.

[SPEAKER_01]: So I made sure that was on.

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, that too.

[SPEAKER_01]: Good, good, good.

[SPEAKER_01]: Terry Jean Belia.

[SPEAKER_01]: was born Augusti Levins, nineteen fifty-three.

[SPEAKER_01]: In fact, tomorrow, tomorrow would be his birthday.

[SPEAKER_01]: But he will forever be known as Hulk Hogan.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, this individual right there.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's not really him.

[SPEAKER_01]: Just so you know.

[SPEAKER_01]: Forever be known as Hulk Hogan.

[SPEAKER_01]: Hulk.

[SPEAKER_01]: uh... as he was known why was he known as hope well it has to do for it no uh... in uh... interview he had at the same time with him and people compared his muscles to louis was a little bit bigger that that bears loop that was what happened so that's why they start calling hope either way he became known as hokul in three time uh... and hope became a champion in january of nineteen eight four of w w f and so he became friends with the famous world famous on the giant as he was known

[SPEAKER_01]: And I will now give you an idea of what he looked like at one time.

[SPEAKER_01]: If I can get him to stand, that is, honor the giant.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I loved Andre, loved him, loved him.

[SPEAKER_01]: They ain't gonna stand.

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, here we go.

[SPEAKER_01]: But either way, honor the giant, that's what they were known as.

[SPEAKER_01]: Honor the giant was very famous.

[SPEAKER_01]: And honor the giant was unbeaten, never been beat, never had a championship belt.

[SPEAKER_01]: for three years.

[SPEAKER_01]: They had been friends and everything else at one point in time.

[SPEAKER_01]: They had WrestleMania after WrestleMania finally wrestling at three hit come.

[SPEAKER_01]: And it was as long as way, they needed to have a really good match.

[SPEAKER_01]: And they said, who are we going to get?

[SPEAKER_01]: And then they decided to be wonderful to make these two friends become enemies.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so they decided that they needed to have a larger than life story.

[SPEAKER_01]: where Hulk had to fight a giant.

[SPEAKER_01]: And it would be great to have two friends become enemies.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so they did.

[SPEAKER_01]: They would have the story built up or Hulk had to defeat this unbeaten Andre.

[SPEAKER_01]: It was larger than life story.

[SPEAKER_01]: I probably everyone could understand and love.

[SPEAKER_01]: Man versus the unbeatable giant.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so therefore, that's what they did.

[SPEAKER_01]: And they built it up.

[SPEAKER_01]: Everyone loved it.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so by WrestleMania three in nineteen eighty seven, everybody loved it in March.

[SPEAKER_01]: Actually, I think it was early April, but they had a wonderful

[SPEAKER_01]: Unbeatable WrestleMania three were Hulk Hogan finally won beat the unbeatable giant picked him up and slammed him down.

[SPEAKER_01]: It was wonderful.

[SPEAKER_01]: But here's the secret.

[SPEAKER_01]: Usually back then they would know who was going to win because you already know that wrestling is a story and they knew who was going to win.

[SPEAKER_01]: They would tell each other.

[SPEAKER_01]: So it was going to win and they play it as they went.

[SPEAKER_01]: See he won.

[SPEAKER_01]: He lost by the way.

[SPEAKER_01]: But either way what happened was they knew who was going to win.

[SPEAKER_01]: Well, Hulk didn't know he was going to win because Andre didn't tell him.

[SPEAKER_01]: Andre, if he didn't want to lose, was not going to lose.

[SPEAKER_01]: So he went out there, scared to death, not knowing he was going to win.

[SPEAKER_01]: So he went out there, unknowing, he was going to win.

[SPEAKER_01]: And by the time it came down, finally Andre said, beat me, pinned me.

[SPEAKER_01]: So he, he, he law, he won.

[SPEAKER_01]: He won the match, terrified that he wasn't going to beat the, the giant.

[SPEAKER_01]: But that's what happened.

[SPEAKER_01]: But that match was a biggest match for years.

[SPEAKER_01]: But the truth is, Andre was facing a big giant in his life, a true giant.

[SPEAKER_01]: And that was Andre was dying.

[SPEAKER_01]: He was dying because he had what they call a giant, uh, giantism.

[SPEAKER_01]: He had, uh, a tumor in him that made him grow big.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so he was ready to die in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in

[SPEAKER_01]: That's pretty young, he was thirty-nine.

[SPEAKER_01]: And, uh, in fact, you may have heard a film called Princess Bride, and while he was ready to die, he got a phone call about this match.

[SPEAKER_01]: And he decided to do this match, and this match saved his life because of that, he had a reason to live, and he was able to live for another six years, and he died at the ripe old age of forty-six, which is very young.

[SPEAKER_01]: But he died pretty young in life, but either way it made him not just the giant, but a giant and everyone's eyes and he became a legend, a true true legend.

[SPEAKER_01]: And he gave him joy and a reason to keep going.

[SPEAKER_01]: And for years, Hulk, not only had been known for this match, but Hulk had many other giants in problems in his life.

[SPEAKER_01]: Hulk had problems in life.

[SPEAKER_01]: Though he became a Christian at age fourteen, he was very immature, and he never grew.

[SPEAKER_01]: And because of that, he had to face giants, like pride, love of fame and money, lust and others.

[SPEAKER_01]: But the great news is, before he died, Hulk re-dedicated his life before he died on July, twenty-fourth, two thousand, twenty-five.

[SPEAKER_01]: And he knew, Hulk knew that God was bigger than the giants that we face.

[SPEAKER_01]: The title of today's sermon is giant problems.

[SPEAKER_01]: Giant problems because we all have them.

[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm going to go through the Bible, talk about giants in the Bible.

[SPEAKER_01]: Now, we're going to talk about all sorts of things, giants, giants that we face, giants in the Bible, and all sorts of things.

[SPEAKER_01]: And you might be facing giants right now.

[SPEAKER_01]: Everybody has different giants that we have to face in life.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I will mention a couple of giants later on that I think we all have to face.

[SPEAKER_01]: First of all,

[SPEAKER_01]: Let's talk about giants who were in the Bible.

[SPEAKER_01]: Both laterally and figuratively, and he was some confusion that people talk about from the Bible.

[SPEAKER_01]: The first one, maybe a little confusing, is some.

[SPEAKER_01]: And that is the word, the philium.

[SPEAKER_01]: The philium is found in Genesis chapter six verse four.

[SPEAKER_01]: And the filium, some say this word means giants.

[SPEAKER_01]: Well, we don't really know.

[SPEAKER_01]: The reason why gets confused is because in King James, the verse that is used there, used the term giants on the earth in those days.

[SPEAKER_01]: That is the verse that is used.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so therefore, people thinks it means giants.

[SPEAKER_01]: Here's the truth.

[SPEAKER_01]: No one knows exactly what it was meant by that term.

[SPEAKER_01]: Some day maybe we'll have a sermon or a study on Wednesday nights about that verse because it's so confusing and God's not the author confusion.

[SPEAKER_01]: And what we don't want to do is say this is what it means and this is exactly what's going on there.

[SPEAKER_01]: There's a lot of confusion.

[SPEAKER_01]: We do simply know is that because of what happened in Genesis chapter six verse four that that's why Noah's art came.

[SPEAKER_01]: because there was a lot of stuff going on at that time.

[SPEAKER_01]: I don't personally believe that they were literal giants.

[SPEAKER_01]: I personally don't believe that they were fallen angels, as far as that kind of stuff goes.

[SPEAKER_01]: I believe that it was connected to the chapters before myself.

[SPEAKER_01]: But that being said, we'll get into that another time.

[SPEAKER_01]: They weren't necessary literal giants.

[SPEAKER_01]: There's a lot of confusion to that.

[SPEAKER_01]: But let me just tell you, there's the word in the filling.

[SPEAKER_01]: It means fallen.

[SPEAKER_01]: Some say that it's following ones are those who cause the fall.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's because it's derived from Hebrew word, Nefall, which means two fall.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's what the word Nefall means.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's where Nefilium comes from, two fall.

[SPEAKER_01]: Was it where there is literally giants or not?

[SPEAKER_01]: There's a lot of confusion.

[SPEAKER_01]: And some people say that this is where the most famous giant the Bible came from.

[SPEAKER_01]: Well, he wasn't from Nefilium.

[SPEAKER_01]: But either way,

[SPEAKER_01]: There are literal giants in the Bible.

[SPEAKER_01]: Now, I would probably notice a giant if I went back a time because people were not very tall back in the days of the Hebrews.

[SPEAKER_01]: They probably about five foot something and I know Finsteek to you five footers.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not insulting you.

[SPEAKER_01]: I don't mean anything by it.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's funny how the right away I saw people looking and wondering, no, I'm not insulting you.

[SPEAKER_01]: I don't mean to be, but I feel like a giant sometimes when I get in a car.

[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like a giant sometimes when I go to the theater or other places where people look at me, I feel like a giant.

[SPEAKER_01]: But I bet you if I went back at time, they would call me a giant.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'd probably thought of like that.

[SPEAKER_01]: Well, there were giants, literally giants.

[SPEAKER_01]: In fact, Genesis chapter fourteen mentions giant groups and I don't mean a big group of big people.

[SPEAKER_01]: A group of big people.

[SPEAKER_01]: And even though it doesn't mention them being giant in that group, it mentions a few of them, and we're going to go through them right now.

[SPEAKER_01]: One of them is the Amorites.

[SPEAKER_01]: The Amorites were descendants of Noah's grandson, Cainan.

[SPEAKER_01]: You know, Cainanites.

[SPEAKER_01]: They're part of the Cainanites.

[SPEAKER_01]: These are the Amorites.

[SPEAKER_01]: Also, the Anacam.

[SPEAKER_01]: No, I don't, I did say Anacam from Star Wars football fans.

[SPEAKER_01]: No, the Anacam.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's A-N-A-N-A-K-I-M.

[SPEAKER_01]: the anochem.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's found in Numbers chapter thirteen.

[SPEAKER_01]: Then there's the, and this is a difficult one, the imem.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's the em, I am the imem found in Deuteronomy, which reveals that the imem was likely means terrors, and they were giants.

[SPEAKER_01]: They were terrors of people.

[SPEAKER_01]: Bullies, big bullies, you know, they've terrorized folks.

[SPEAKER_01]: You know, when I hear the word in them, I can't help but think of some of my nephews and nieces who was trying to say, Eminem's.

[SPEAKER_01]: And they say, Eminem, he said, you know what I mean?

[SPEAKER_01]: We'd probably hear a little kids say that.

[SPEAKER_01]: And then there's the, now get this one.

[SPEAKER_01]: Get the, now I don't know why all the giants had these weird names, but they're weird to us.

[SPEAKER_01]: They probably weren't weird to them.

[SPEAKER_01]: That the, what name of the other giants they mentioned, one was the Zizem, the Zizem, also known as the Zizem, Zizem, Zizem, Zizem,

[SPEAKER_01]: I know it sounds like I'm having a seizure here.

[SPEAKER_01]: No, I'm quoting what they're saying here.

[SPEAKER_01]: And this is in Deuteronomy chapters to just like the Imamim.

[SPEAKER_01]: And then there's also the Reffium found in Deuteronomy chapter three in second Samuel chapter twenty one.

[SPEAKER_01]: The refium, these were all giants.

[SPEAKER_01]: Giant groups now.

[SPEAKER_01]: Does that mean that they were six feet tall, seven feet tall, eight feet tall probably?

[SPEAKER_01]: There are some people who start almost fairy killing this.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm not joking when I say this.

[SPEAKER_01]: They start fairy killing it.

[SPEAKER_01]: as if these people came down from a beanstalk and not literally, but they start talking like that they were under feet tall and sixty feet to come all foes.

[SPEAKER_01]: But this is what people start talking about because this is why I don't hear for AI much.

[SPEAKER_01]: I don't mind people use it that people getting their AI stuff and they start trying to use it like it's a real picture from back in the Bible.

[SPEAKER_01]: I was like, they had the code act back in the day of the Bible anyway.

[SPEAKER_01]: But then the most famous giant of the Bible of all time, you know, who that was, he came from gas.

[SPEAKER_01]: his name was Goliath, you know.

[SPEAKER_01]: But it also talks about his family.

[SPEAKER_01]: And second Samuel chapter, twenty one, second Samuel chapter, twenty one, verse fifteen through twenty two, we're not going to go there.

[SPEAKER_01]: But he had relatives.

[SPEAKER_01]: Relatives that most famous giant, one was called Ishpy Benab, Ishpy Benab.

[SPEAKER_01]: And another one was known as Seth.

[SPEAKER_01]: They also called him as a PI.

[SPEAKER_01]: The PI actually.

[SPEAKER_01]: And then, but I like to call him Seth.

[SPEAKER_01]: And then the other one was Lamaya.

[SPEAKER_01]: Lamaya.

[SPEAKER_01]: And he was the brother of Goliath.

[SPEAKER_01]: He was the brother of Goliath.

[SPEAKER_01]: And then there was a name giant.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I really like this name giant because he had six fingers on both hands and six toes on both feet.

[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, can you imagine trying to buy shoes for this guy?

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, poor Nike.

[SPEAKER_01]: But anyway, and then, and then here's the thing you're going to like about it.

[SPEAKER_01]: Who killed this name giant was Jonathan, David's nephew,

[SPEAKER_01]: David's nephew, who was the son of Shamiya.

[SPEAKER_01]: Now the great thing is, is that when you looked at all these other giants, they were killed all by David and David's friends and family.

[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I got to tell you that family and those giants must have hated David in his folks, because they were all killed giant killers, you know.

[SPEAKER_01]: But I just say, be careful.

[SPEAKER_01]: And there was one other giant that's mentioned that we were aware of, at least by name, that didn't really give the name.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's an Egyptian giant.

[SPEAKER_01]: And this Egyptian giant found a first Chronicles chapter eleven, verse twenty three and I'll read to you.

[SPEAKER_01]: But it says that he was, I'm not going to give you the reading of the measurements that they gave, because that's all these qubits and such.

[SPEAKER_01]: But basically in our measurements, it says he was seven feet and five inches, which by the way, at one time, that's what honored the giant was, seven to seven to five.

[SPEAKER_01]: So think about how big that was, seven to five.

[SPEAKER_01]: So there's one of Dave was mighty men, Banea, the son of Jeho Daya, defeated the large Egyptian man.

[SPEAKER_01]: And the first crown of his life in twenty three, it says, in the Egyptians hand, there was a spear like a weavers being.

[SPEAKER_01]: And he went down to him with a staff.

[SPEAKER_01]: And he rested the spear out of the Egyptians hand and killed him with his own spear.

[SPEAKER_01]: Kill them with it.

[SPEAKER_01]: So the Bible has a lot of giants, both literal and figurative, because there was a lot of giant men in the Bible too.

[SPEAKER_01]: Giant, spiritually, and giant, and the fact that they could do all these things.

[SPEAKER_01]: Now, there are people who try to say there were no such thing as giants.

[SPEAKER_01]: These things were, they were giant compared.

[SPEAKER_01]: to the other people who are giant size, but here's the thing we need to remember.

[SPEAKER_01]: God doesn't judge by the physical size.

[SPEAKER_01]: God doesn't judge by how big someone is or anything else.

[SPEAKER_01]: He judges by the giant characteristics in us, spiritually, and you need to remember that.

[SPEAKER_01]: So we will now move on to focusing simply, specifically on the most famous giant in the Bible, Goliath, a huge giant problem for the people of Israel, and he was.

[SPEAKER_01]: And why?

[SPEAKER_01]: Well, let's now go to First Samuel chapter seventeen.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to try to read that chapter if I possibly am.

[SPEAKER_01]: There's a lot to it.

[SPEAKER_01]: But we'll try to read it.

[SPEAKER_01]: Now the first thing we need to know when we go on the first Samuel chapter seventeen, we need to know what happened in the first Samuel chapter sixteen.

[SPEAKER_01]: And that is that God took his blessings off.

[SPEAKER_01]: of King Saul, off of King Saul.

[SPEAKER_01]: Now why?

[SPEAKER_01]: Because King Saul wasn't giving himself over to God all the way.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so those blessings went off of him.

[SPEAKER_01]: That means that the Spirit of God left King Saul.

[SPEAKER_01]: And with that Samuel went over to David.

[SPEAKER_01]: And when you went to David,

[SPEAKER_01]: Now, he went through all of Jesse's sons and David, the one that they didn't consider to bring before Samuel.

[SPEAKER_01]: David was the one that God had chosen.

[SPEAKER_01]: Because what does he say?

[SPEAKER_01]: It says, right there, God doesn't look on the outside of man, but on the inside, he doesn't look on the physical.

[SPEAKER_01]: What does he look at?

[SPEAKER_01]: The spiritual, the inside.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's exactly where our God passed, David.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's not a Philip opinion.

[SPEAKER_01]: By the way, it should never be our opinion on things.

[SPEAKER_01]: It should always be the gods.

[SPEAKER_01]: truth.

[SPEAKER_01]: Because our opinion doesn't matter.

[SPEAKER_01]: And by the way, our opinion changes like the wind, but God's truth never changes.

[SPEAKER_01]: God's word is truth.

[SPEAKER_01]: Verse, a chapter of seventeen.

[SPEAKER_01]: Now the fifth verse one.

[SPEAKER_01]: Now the Philistines gather their armies for battle, and we're gathered at Soko, which belong to Judah, and they can't be between Soko and Ezekiah.

[SPEAKER_01]: And the effes, the minimum, and saw the Israelites fighting men were gathered and they camped to the valley of Elah and they drew up in the battle order to meet the Philistines.

[SPEAKER_01]: Now the Philistines were standing at the base of the mountain on one side in Israel was standing.

[SPEAKER_01]: standing at the base of the mountain on the other side.

[SPEAKER_01]: And the valley between them.

[SPEAKER_01]: And there went out a champion from the can't, this is verse four, the camp of the Philistines, Goliath was his name from Gath, whose height was six cubits and a span.

[SPEAKER_01]: Now, what is that?

[SPEAKER_01]: It says he was almost ten feet tall.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's Goliath.

[SPEAKER_01]: Almost ten feet tall, both he's huge.

[SPEAKER_01]: Almost ten feet tall.

[SPEAKER_01]: Can you imagine that?

[SPEAKER_01]: That makes me look pretty short.

[SPEAKER_01]: So either way,

[SPEAKER_01]: In other words, you put a forefoot child on me or almost forefoot forefoot child on my shoulders and that would be about the height.

[SPEAKER_01]: of Goliath, got on a six forward.

[SPEAKER_01]: So it goes on to say that he had this verse five.

[SPEAKER_01]: He had a helmet of bronze on his head and he was armed with a coat of mail.

[SPEAKER_01]: And now the way of the bronze coat was five thousand shekels.

[SPEAKER_01]: He had grieves of bronze on his legs and bronze of a jab on between his shoulders.

[SPEAKER_01]: The staff

[SPEAKER_01]: of his spirit was like a weaver's beam.

[SPEAKER_01]: That means it's huge.

[SPEAKER_01]: And they all said that by the way, about the giant cell had a spear like a weaver's beam.

[SPEAKER_01]: That means it's huge.

[SPEAKER_01]: It could take on just about anybody.

[SPEAKER_01]: That being said, it goes on to say that his iron spearhead weighed six hundred shekels and a shield bear was walking before him.

[SPEAKER_01]: He stood and called out their ranks of Israel.

[SPEAKER_01]: Why have you come out to line up for battle?

[SPEAKER_01]: Am I not the Philistine and you the servants of Saul?

[SPEAKER_01]: Choose for yourselves a man

[SPEAKER_01]: and let him come down to me if he is able to fight with me and to strike me down, then we will be your servants.

[SPEAKER_01]: For if I prevail against him and strike him down, then you will be our servants and I will serve us.

[SPEAKER_01]: The Philistine said, I defy the battle lines of Israel this day.

[SPEAKER_01]: Give me a man and let us fight together.

[SPEAKER_01]: When Saul and Israel heard these words of the Philistine, they were filled with terror and were greatly afraid.

[SPEAKER_01]: Now, here's the thing.

[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I did mention to you, while ago, was that we heard that Saul had met David at the end of chapter sixteen, because David came down.

[SPEAKER_01]: You remember how Saul had lost the power of God that Spirit of God?

[SPEAKER_01]: David had had it, and he went and he played the harp.

[SPEAKER_01]: And Saul was now at peace when he felt the power of God.

[SPEAKER_01]: Folks, when the lost,

[SPEAKER_01]: are feeling down.

[SPEAKER_01]: Who do they call?

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not talking about when they're doing good and all is well and they talked to their fellow Los brothers and sisters so to speak.

[SPEAKER_01]: No, no, no.

[SPEAKER_01]: They're there to mock you.

[SPEAKER_01]: But when all is going bad and they're having problems with health and their problems with their family because they're having issues, they call you.

[SPEAKER_01]: Not because of you.

[SPEAKER_01]: Not because you're the best things in size bread.

[SPEAKER_01]: No, no, no, no.

[SPEAKER_01]: They're calling you because they feel the Holy Spirit that Lord Jesus Christ is living within you.

[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to have in true issues.

[SPEAKER_01]: Although you're the one they want to make fun of, although you're the one they want to mock, they call you because they feel the power of God in you.

[SPEAKER_01]: And that is what happened when Saul needed to feel the power you've called on David.

[SPEAKER_01]: What happens here?

[SPEAKER_01]: What happens here now is this.

[SPEAKER_01]: everyday.

[SPEAKER_01]: The life would come down and mock them for a long, long time, but David was sin.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to try to skip ahead of you.

[SPEAKER_01]: David was sent from his father, Jesse, bringing all sorts of bread, tons of bread and grain and cheese for his brothers and for the army.

[SPEAKER_01]: And when he got there,

[SPEAKER_01]: He suddenly saw that the Philistine step forward.

[SPEAKER_01]: This is in verse sixteen.

[SPEAKER_01]: The Philistine step forward that morning and the evening and took the stand for forty days for forty days of this and when David saw this, he heard him say like he always did.

[SPEAKER_01]: Come forward, send him out out and David heard this and David got upset.

[SPEAKER_01]: He got upset.

[SPEAKER_01]: He said, who is this uncircum sized?

[SPEAKER_01]: Who is this Philistine?

[SPEAKER_01]: Who says it's about our God?

[SPEAKER_01]: He didn't take it as if he was being put down.

[SPEAKER_01]: Because people a lot of times will say this, well, we can solve it.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's our ego.

[SPEAKER_01]: It wasn't about his ego.

[SPEAKER_01]: You gotta remember he had the Spirit of God upon him.

[SPEAKER_01]: When the Spirit of God was upon him, folks we should have the Spirit of God not upon us, but within us, the Holy Spirit.

[SPEAKER_01]: And he felt the power of God upon him.

[SPEAKER_01]: And when he heard God being disrespected,

[SPEAKER_01]: it got all over him.

[SPEAKER_01]: And that's how I feel when people mock Jesus, not because of me, but because of Jesus Christ's folks, we should not mock the name of Jesus.

[SPEAKER_01]: We should not mock Jesus Christ as people do on TV, as they do in jokes, as they do all over the place, even some fellow Christians do that because they think all God understand.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he understands that you're not putting in first.

[SPEAKER_01]: And what happens is, and I'm not trying to put anyone down, but these are the facts.

[SPEAKER_01]: So what happened was David rose up early in the morning.

[SPEAKER_01]: He left that flock.

[SPEAKER_01]: He heard those things.

[SPEAKER_01]: And when he did, you know what happened.

[SPEAKER_01]: His brothers thought that David was just there being naughty.

[SPEAKER_01]: What did be a part of what was going on?

[SPEAKER_01]: But David was irritated.

[SPEAKER_01]: He was irritated said, when he said, who is this man?

[SPEAKER_01]: Who is this?

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm circumcised.

[SPEAKER_01]: And his brother said, you're here just to see what's going on.

[SPEAKER_01]: And this was now around verse twenty nine.

[SPEAKER_01]: They was said, what have I done now?

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not speaking just words.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so now David wants to know, the people heard what David has said and they reported the words back to King Saul.

[SPEAKER_01]: As we get to verse thirty two, David said to Saul,

[SPEAKER_01]: Let no man's heart fail because of him talking about the life.

[SPEAKER_01]: In other words, he said, don't be scared.

[SPEAKER_01]: Don't be overcome by fear.

[SPEAKER_01]: Because he says this, he says, your servant will go and fight this Philistine.

[SPEAKER_01]: This was not ego talking.

[SPEAKER_01]: This was love of the power of God, and he wanted to stand up to him.

[SPEAKER_01]: Because greater is what?

[SPEAKER_01]: Greater is he who's in you, this like we said earlier, as it in first John four four what?

[SPEAKER_01]: Greater is he who is in you than he was of the world.

[SPEAKER_01]: Grater is, he, Jesus, Christ, the Lord, God, who is in you that He was of the world.

[SPEAKER_01]: When the world tries to talk you down, when those giants are trying to talk you down, Grater is Jesus.

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I know you have fear when people are calling you stupid.

[SPEAKER_01]: I know you have a little bit of fear when Satan's trying to make you feel, but I gotta get up.

[SPEAKER_01]: I know you have fear, but let me just tell you something, Grater is Jesus, then that giant in your life.

[SPEAKER_01]: Grater is Jesus in you.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so David, David,

[SPEAKER_01]: wanted to go out and go against him, but Saul said to David, because what are they doing?

[SPEAKER_01]: They're looking on the outside again.

[SPEAKER_01]: Saul said to David in verse thirty three, Saul said to David, you're not able to go against the Philistine to fight with him for you or but a use.

[SPEAKER_01]: And he has been a man of war from his use.

[SPEAKER_01]: and David said to Saul, your servant was a shepherd for my father's flock and the lion came and the bear and I took the lamb out of the flock or they came to take the lamb out of the flock and I went out after him and struck him and delivered it out of his mouth.

[SPEAKER_01]: And when he arose against me, I took the hold of his beard and struck him and killed him.

[SPEAKER_01]: Your servant slew both lying and bear.

[SPEAKER_01]: And this uncircumcised filestine, or be is one of them because he has reviled the armies of the living God.

[SPEAKER_01]: David said, the Lord who delivered me out of the pile of the lion and out of the pile of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of the filestine.

[SPEAKER_01]: See, he's not saying, David, so great!

[SPEAKER_01]: No, he's not saying that.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's saying, greater is he who is in me than he who's of this world.

[SPEAKER_01]: Isn't that right?

[SPEAKER_01]: Isn't that what we have to do?

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I know folks.

[SPEAKER_01]: I know what a site sometimes that we give us.

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I'm in pain.

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I don't know if I can go on but folks remember Jesus Christ is greater than the new giant that's in our life today.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so I'll say today of it.

[SPEAKER_01]: Go and the Lord will be with you.

[SPEAKER_01]: go and the Lord be with you.

[SPEAKER_01]: So he tried to close David and all his armor.

[SPEAKER_01]: He was too big for him.

[SPEAKER_01]: He couldn't wear it.

[SPEAKER_01]: Now, I know the story a lot of times he will say he was just a little boy named David only in tiny sleep.

[SPEAKER_01]: But he wasn't just a little boy.

[SPEAKER_01]: He was probably about seventeen, maybe eighteen.

[SPEAKER_01]: But he was still young and a boy in the sense of things.

[SPEAKER_01]: But David went out there and what did he have?

[SPEAKER_01]: He had a shepherd's bag.

[SPEAKER_01]: And he had a staff in his hand.

[SPEAKER_01]: He had a sling.

[SPEAKER_01]: He went down to the brook and took five stones.

[SPEAKER_01]: Five of the stones he took.

[SPEAKER_01]: And you know what happened?

[SPEAKER_01]: What was a stone went into the sling?

[SPEAKER_01]: And the sling went round and round, but before he got to that, what happened?

[SPEAKER_01]: The Philistine, that's Goliath, looked at David.

[SPEAKER_01]: He could believe what he saw a young man.

[SPEAKER_01]: He had so much ego, so much pride, Goliath did.

[SPEAKER_01]: And he saw David coming in and Philistine Goliath said to him, am I a dog that you come at me with sticks when the Philistine cursed David by his gods, his Philistine gods, his false gods.

[SPEAKER_01]: and said to David, come to me, then I will give your flesh to the birds of the heavens and to the beast of the field.

[SPEAKER_01]: And oh, I love David.

[SPEAKER_01]: The power of God was all over him.

[SPEAKER_01]: The courage of God because he knew greater as he was in him than he was of the world.

[SPEAKER_01]: And what did he say?

[SPEAKER_01]: David said in verse forty five, David said,

[SPEAKER_01]: to the Philistine, you come to me with a sword, a spear, and a shield, but I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have reviled this day, will the Lord deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you down and cut you off your head, and I will give the corpse of the Philistine camp this day to the birds of the air, and to the beast of the earth, so that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel.

[SPEAKER_01]: Then all the assembly will know that it is not by sword and spear that the Lord saves, for the battle belongs to the Lord, and He will deliver you into my, into our hands, and they all arose, and they did.

[SPEAKER_01]: They all arose.

[SPEAKER_01]: But when the lies went out there to get David, he didn't even get a chance to say boo.

[SPEAKER_01]: Because David took that sling and I said it a billion times before, maybe a little less.

[SPEAKER_01]: But God took, when David slung that first rock, by the way, it was on what he needed.

[SPEAKER_01]: It wasn't really David.

[SPEAKER_01]: It was the power of God behind that little stone and it boom!

[SPEAKER_01]: suck into the skull of Galaya.

[SPEAKER_01]: And it killed him then.

[SPEAKER_01]: And David went out, took Galaya so sore folks, the power of God, got over David.

[SPEAKER_01]: He put up Galaya sort and cut off his head and held it up high.

[SPEAKER_01]: And you can imagine all the people, the Philistines are giant.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's gone and they ran and all how the Hebrews, the Israelites went up and started chasing them down and saw, couldn't believe what he saw.

[SPEAKER_00]: He asked who is this?

[SPEAKER_00]: why folks because greatest use in me that use of the world.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's why God is a bigger giant than the giants of your life.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's why.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm gonna move on.

[SPEAKER_01]: David had a lot of other giant problems in his life.

[SPEAKER_01]: He truly did.

[SPEAKER_01]: David had a lot of other giant problems.

[SPEAKER_01]: He put, let me say this.

[SPEAKER_01]: He had a lot of other John problems as life later on.

[SPEAKER_01]: Because before God in life, Dave had problems.

[SPEAKER_01]: And how?

[SPEAKER_01]: Because then we hear that David was a man after God's own heart.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's right.

[SPEAKER_01]: And for Samuel, thirteen, fourteen, we hear that David was a man after God's own heart.

[SPEAKER_01]: Well, how can that be?

[SPEAKER_01]: He wasn't chosen yet.

[SPEAKER_01]: That happened in chapter sixteen.

[SPEAKER_01]: Well, when God first told Saul through Samuel that he was no longer going to be used of God, he said, I'm got a man who's after my own heart that I've chosen.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's taught him how to David.

[SPEAKER_01]: This gets repeated again when Paul speaks about it in Acts chapter thirteen.

[SPEAKER_01]: And he paraphrases and speaks about how Saul felt and David was built up because he was a man after God's own heart.

[SPEAKER_01]: And he was, so how could it be that he also had other things before God at times?

[SPEAKER_01]: Because you know what, the first part we forget, he was a man after God's on art.

[SPEAKER_01]: Man, human beings fail, but God doesn't.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so David was a giant of having lovely, loving relationship, of being compliant and obedient to God.

[SPEAKER_01]: But also had other giants as a man.

[SPEAKER_01]: All mankind is imperfect and faces giants.

[SPEAKER_01]: We do.

[SPEAKER_01]: Let me just tell you, all of all I mentioned, Hulk Hogan.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I mentioned the figurative thing that he did when he picked up Andre and hurt his own back, by the way, and threw him down.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's a wonderful illustration that we can see, right?

[SPEAKER_01]: David fought a giant for real.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's a wonderful illustration, but here's the truth.

[SPEAKER_01]: There were still giants he faced, just like others.

[SPEAKER_01]: He had the giant of pride, ego, and arrogance, giant of lust, and a giant of power.

[SPEAKER_01]: It left David open to a giant of vulnerability, a giant of moral and spiritual blindness at times.

[SPEAKER_01]: And this is a problem and we see it happen in second Samuel chapter eleven when David he went home when other people were out there fighting he went home because of his ego and he thought I'm going to let other people do this I'm just going to go home and he wanted to be in his his palace and while doing that you know he was doing here he had just right before that chapter ten he was being used of God and a huge battle and then in chapter eleven what he do he went home he looked down saw naked woman

[SPEAKER_01]: and gave into his flesh.

[SPEAKER_01]: Now, here's the thing, seeing the naked woman wasn't the problem.

[SPEAKER_01]: That happens.

[SPEAKER_01]: Things get thrown at me all the time, but here's what you do.

[SPEAKER_01]: If that stuff gets thrown at you, and that's an issue in a giant in your life, here's what you do.

[SPEAKER_01]: You see the giant in turn away from the giant, and you let a bigger giant get facing it.

[SPEAKER_01]: Everyone's a bigger giant, the Holy Spirit, the Lord God, you go to the word.

[SPEAKER_01]: If you have a giant in your life, and you know you have that giant, you put a bigger giant to face that giant.

[SPEAKER_01]: Because you know you have a weakness, a giant that's coming towards you.

[SPEAKER_01]: You put a bigger giant towards it.

[SPEAKER_01]: You don't try to face it.

[SPEAKER_01]: You're not jacking the beans talk and even in that jack, right?

[SPEAKER_01]: You got to know that you need something else to face it.

[SPEAKER_01]: You can't do it.

[SPEAKER_01]: Because you're not strong enough.

[SPEAKER_01]: You're not big enough.

[SPEAKER_01]: But God is David did what he do.

[SPEAKER_01]: He kept looking.

[SPEAKER_01]: He was lusted.

[SPEAKER_01]: Not just that.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's sent for and send with her.

[SPEAKER_01]: And if that's not a big enough problem with the lust and pride, he started like that.

[SPEAKER_01]: He got a pregnant.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so he started going through lies.

[SPEAKER_01]: And because it was pride, he couldn't admit what he had done.

[SPEAKER_01]: It couldn't admit it was wrong.

[SPEAKER_01]: And they went into lies and then murder.

[SPEAKER_01]: And then just a vacation when he did it.

[SPEAKER_01]: And on and on and on and on.

[SPEAKER_01]: Now God forgave, if through Dave Masheva, they had Solomon.

[SPEAKER_01]: But that was because David went to him on his hands and he's the most humble.

[SPEAKER_01]: But still from that, there was still be a whole lot of stuff like a sinful home.

[SPEAKER_01]: This will lead to a sinful home because his boys saw what David had done.

[SPEAKER_01]: And from that we saw the M non, M non, also had a lot of giants, less than such.

[SPEAKER_01]: He raped his sister.

[SPEAKER_01]: Absalom, murdered and non.

[SPEAKER_01]: Absalom was prideful and arrogant and took David's kingdom for a time when it gets gone.

[SPEAKER_01]: And then he was killed.

[SPEAKER_01]: And then that was a problem too.

[SPEAKER_01]: And then later on, Solomon, even Solomon, who had the Spirit of God upon, he gave him to pride in a lot of giant problems himself, allowing all because we're allowing to put giants before God, not allowing the giant that is God to face those giants in their lives.

[SPEAKER_01]: Folks, this happens if we're not careful.

[SPEAKER_01]: And what is the lesson that we're learning here from these lives?

[SPEAKER_01]: The lesson is to let God kill the giant

[SPEAKER_01]: or let the giant kill you.

[SPEAKER_01]: In other words, again, let God kill the giant or the giant kills you.

[SPEAKER_01]: Now, am I talking about literally kill you?

[SPEAKER_01]: Well, could be, if your giant is, is drugs, your giant is drinking or whatever might be something that could literally physically hurt you, or something that could kill your relationships, or kill your relationship with God, I'm not talking about losing salvation, but could kill your closeness to Christ?

[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_01]: But the point is that God is greater than those giants.

[SPEAKER_01]: So let's take a look at some giant problems you may have.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm gonna try to close up, but I gotta go through this.

[SPEAKER_01]: Giant problems.

[SPEAKER_01]: Do you face giants every day?

[SPEAKER_01]: Do you have giant problems?

[SPEAKER_01]: We all have giant problems.

[SPEAKER_01]: Everybody's giant might be different.

[SPEAKER_01]: What I face is a giant.

[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe different.

[SPEAKER_01]: What you face is a giant.

[SPEAKER_01]: We all have different giants to stand against.

[SPEAKER_01]: And we might even share a giant or two that we face.

[SPEAKER_01]: But what is Proverbs, twenty-four, ten say,

[SPEAKER_01]: Proverbs chapter twenty four verse ten says this.

[SPEAKER_01]: If you faint in the day of your adversity, your strength is small.

[SPEAKER_01]: Now you can go stronger in your spirit.

[SPEAKER_01]: But if you don't go to the Word of God and you don't go to prayer, you want to know why your spirit's alive is weak.

[SPEAKER_01]: Well, there's a good reason right there.

[SPEAKER_01]: You're not taking your spiritual vitamins or eating your spiritual food and you're not having a close spiritual where I see what God.

[SPEAKER_01]: How do you expect to stand up against this spiritual giants in that problems in your life?

[SPEAKER_01]: I like what James says.

[SPEAKER_01]: James, who is Jesus's brother, James chapter one, verse two through four.

[SPEAKER_01]: My brothers counted all joy when you fall into diverse temptations.

[SPEAKER_01]: Now if we stop there, let me say what?

[SPEAKER_01]: Isn't it joyful?

[SPEAKER_01]: to fall in two diverse temptations.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's not saying fall for the temptations.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's saying when temptations come towards you.

[SPEAKER_01]: But even with that, why would that be joyful?

[SPEAKER_01]: Well, we read on, because I've heard people just read the verse before.

[SPEAKER_01]: And there's more to it than that.

[SPEAKER_01]: Look what he says.

[SPEAKER_01]: Verse two, my brothers, Colonel Joy, when we fall in two diverse temptations, verse three, knowing that the trying of your faith develops patients.

[SPEAKER_01]: Verse four, but let patients perfect, it's work.

[SPEAKER_01]: that you may be perfect and complete lacking nothing.

[SPEAKER_01]: The hardships of facing the giant in your life may make you better when other giants come.

[SPEAKER_01]: Not because of you, but back to what I first started with, first John Paul Ford, greatest E who is in you.

[SPEAKER_01]: If we remember that and keep going back to that, we will be able to face the giants that will come.

[SPEAKER_01]: I often think about what it would be like and I've seen so many movies.

[SPEAKER_01]: I've watched so many films and usually I like sci-fi, silly stuff.

[SPEAKER_01]: But I can remember some of those movies where they would be facing actual giants.

[SPEAKER_01]: One of the movies I enjoyed as a kid.

[SPEAKER_01]: was a golfer's travels.

[SPEAKER_01]: In fact, there was a really good version of it.

[SPEAKER_01]: I want to say six.

[SPEAKER_01]: We're Ted Dancing played golfer, did a good job.

[SPEAKER_01]: And they had one where he was a giant.

[SPEAKER_01]: And he went to the small people.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's usually when they always did.

[SPEAKER_01]: Well, then later on, he goes to the land.

[SPEAKER_01]: And he's covered by giants.

[SPEAKER_01]: And he was terrified because he was now looking up at his giants everywhere.

[SPEAKER_01]: And it was a wonderful, wonderful thing to see.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I remember thinking how terrifying it would be that you're smaller than the toes.

[SPEAKER_01]: And you can be crushed in any second.

[SPEAKER_01]: But here's the thing, spiritually speaking, we may feel that way.

[SPEAKER_01]: We may feel that way right now, because we read what the Bible says about something we'll be in heaven.

[SPEAKER_01]: But right now, we feel covered by giants.

[SPEAKER_01]: They could do all sorts of things, such as folks, they're not giants.

[SPEAKER_01]: God is the giant he's the creator.

[SPEAKER_01]: People think they have power.

[SPEAKER_01]: Their power is allowed, but God is the one, the only, the true giant of the whole universe.

[SPEAKER_01]: When you remember that, I like Romans chapter five, verse one through five.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'll go into Romans and resume in a sermon, all about Rome.

[SPEAKER_01]: Romans chapter five, one through five, I like this.

[SPEAKER_01]: Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through who we also have access by faith into this grace in which we stand.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so we rejoice in hope of the glory of God, not only so, but we also boast in tribulation, knowing that tribulation produces patience, patience produces character and character produces hope.

[SPEAKER_01]: And hope does not disappoint because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, it helps greatly.

[SPEAKER_01]: And Romans, twelve, twenty one and this is a great one.

[SPEAKER_01]: Romans, twelve, twenty one.

[SPEAKER_01]: You can remember that.

[SPEAKER_01]: Romans, twelve, twenty one.

[SPEAKER_01]: I like this.

[SPEAKER_01]: When your giant comes to you, whatever your giant might be, it could be hatefulness about some people.

[SPEAKER_01]: It might be lust, it might whatever it might be, because we all got different ones.

[SPEAKER_01]: But this is what it says in Romans, twelve, twenty-one.

[SPEAKER_01]: Keep this one mark.

[SPEAKER_01]: For at Romans twelve twenty one, do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

[SPEAKER_01]: And it's not calm about good works.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's talking about the good of Christ that lives in you.

[SPEAKER_01]: Let the Holy Spirit work through you so that you can continue to do good, not the evil that were tempted to do.

[SPEAKER_01]: First John one nine, first John one nine.

[SPEAKER_01]: If we could face our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleans us from all unrighteousness.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's how I'm salvation.

[SPEAKER_01]: Some salvation, but remember, even when we mess up, which we sometimes do.

[SPEAKER_01]: And we feel like we've lost to the giants of our life.

[SPEAKER_01]: Remember, you're a sea and he's already won the battle.

[SPEAKER_01]: One last one, let it comes to this area.

[SPEAKER_01]: Second Corinthians four, eight through ten.

[SPEAKER_01]: Second Corinthians, chapter four, eight through ten.

[SPEAKER_01]: We're troubled on every side, yet not distress.

[SPEAKER_01]: We're perplexed, but not in despair.

[SPEAKER_01]: Persecuted, but not forsaking.

[SPEAKER_01]: Cast down, but not destroyed.

[SPEAKER_01]: And always carrying around in the body, the death of the Lord Jesus, that also, the life of Jesus might be expressed in our bodies, folks.

[SPEAKER_01]: Jesus is our new one.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's our new one.

[SPEAKER_01]: Let him be in you so people can see him.

[SPEAKER_01]: But once again, I'm going to repeat the lesson.

[SPEAKER_01]: The lesson is let God kill the giant before the giant kills you.

[SPEAKER_01]: Amen.

[SPEAKER_01]: I mentioned earlier, the whole Kogan knew that God was bigger than the giant's we face.

[SPEAKER_01]: About a year before Hope died, he was rebaptized, rededicated, and when our numerous shows in interviews sharing the gospel praise of Lord, he was mocked for it, made fun of for it, and all sorts of things.

[SPEAKER_01]: People put him down and assaulted him because of his political stance because he supported our president now, and all sorts of things that hated his guts for it, especially for the sharing of the gospel.

[SPEAKER_01]: But he knew that greater was Christ than those of the world.

[SPEAKER_01]: But when sharing all the giant problems that he'd had throughout his life, and they do see my giant problems when they're having, he said this, and I quote, I give my little problems to my big God.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's what he said.

[SPEAKER_01]: I give my little problems to my big God.

[SPEAKER_01]: So let me tell you something, brothers and sisters in Christ.

[SPEAKER_01]: When you're facing your giants in this world, remember, greater is God.

[SPEAKER_01]: who is in you in the giants of this world.

[SPEAKER_01]: God is greater.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's bigger in those little giants, those little giants, and they are little compared to God.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I close with first Corinthians, fifteen, fifty-seven.

[SPEAKER_01]: First Corinthians, fifteen, fifty-seven.

[SPEAKER_01]: But thanks be to God who gives us victory

[SPEAKER_01]: If you're our Lord, Jesus Christ, let's balance prayer.

[SPEAKER_01]: Fear, precious Lord, precious Heavenly Father, our Creator and our Savior.

[SPEAKER_01]: I thank you so very much, Lord God, for being with us.

[SPEAKER_01]: I know, Lord God, we all face different problems.

[SPEAKER_01]: Some people right now are facing physical problems.

[SPEAKER_01]: And with that, it mentally attacks us and makes us feel like we can't go on.

[SPEAKER_01]: We might be going through changes that seem like

[SPEAKER_01]: seem like they're undefeatable and unbeatable, but Lord, I know that you're with us through all of those.

[SPEAKER_01]: I pray that we look to you and not to the problems themselves.

[SPEAKER_01]: The problems that seem like giants, I know that you are greater and bigger than those problems.

[SPEAKER_01]: I pray that we quit looking at those things head on and start looking to you to face them for us and with us.

[SPEAKER_01]: I pray that we remember every single day to look towards you, to study your word, to live with your word, to focus on your word and let the Holy Spirit guide us, not our own thoughts, not our own guide, not our own way, not our own will but yours.

[SPEAKER_01]: I pray for all of this in holy and precious name, more Jesus.

[SPEAKER_01]: And if there be anyone here today,

[SPEAKER_01]: who feels that they need your strength and help that Lord God today, they will feel it and allow you to guide them.

[SPEAKER_01]: And Jesus, most holy and precise name I pray.

[SPEAKER_01]: Amen.

[SPEAKER_01]: Amen.
