When in Rome - Moment of Truth Bible Baptist Church 8/17/25

[SPEAKER_00]: Let's all now turn to Romans, chapter one.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's been a lot of time Romans today with all of it, actually.

[SPEAKER_00]: Let's turn to Romans chapter one verse seven.

[SPEAKER_00]: And once you turn to Romans chapter one verse seven, if you could please stand on the reading of God's word.

[SPEAKER_00]: And it says, in Romans chapter one verse seven,

[SPEAKER_00]: to all who are in Rome, beloved of God, call to be saints, grace to you, and peace from God, our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.

[SPEAKER_00]: God bless and honor the ring of His word, and you may be seated.

[SPEAKER_00]: On January the XIII, two thousand and one, the plain left, who went on a plain ride, and the adventure began.

[SPEAKER_00]: My father, my mother and I, my grandmother, my aunt, and a couple of people from my church went on a trip.

[SPEAKER_00]: Went on a trip that's uh, went quite a ways.

[SPEAKER_00]: One of the ladies was a name of uh, sister Barbara Beggs who you know and the other one you may not know as well.

[SPEAKER_00]: Sister, uh, all of

[SPEAKER_00]: Was it patty bachelors?

[SPEAKER_00]: I just talked to about this.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, sister, past see just a couple days ago about this trip.

[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, we went on a long trip.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's about ten day trip or more.

[SPEAKER_00]: And we landed on January the Fourteenth in Israel.

[SPEAKER_00]: And from January, Fourteenth to the twenty first, we went through Israel.

[SPEAKER_00]: And we'll talk more about that in January for the twenty-fifth anniversary.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'll speak about going to the Promised Land.

[SPEAKER_00]: We'll speak about that.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I'll go, I'll have pictures and other things show you.

[SPEAKER_00]: And then on January, twenty first, two thousand and one, we left Israel that day.

[SPEAKER_00]: It was a Sunday and we arrived that night in Rome.

[SPEAKER_00]: That was an interesting trip.

[SPEAKER_00]: very interesting.

[SPEAKER_00]: We landed in Rome and Rome was beautiful and it was romantic, but it doesn't do much for a person who's all alone.

[SPEAKER_00]: We single and sitting there looking around all the romantic things.

[SPEAKER_00]: They had an idea that had a lot of nice romantic things.

[SPEAKER_00]: You see it movies, a lot of wonderful things that have in Rome and they do, a lot of beautiful things.

[SPEAKER_00]: And a lot of the things that you see all the time, beautiful romantic, living in an art display, it seemed like full of history and intrigue.

[SPEAKER_00]: One of the things that we saw was the Flavian amphitheater.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like I never heard that, yes you have, you just don't know that you have.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's known as the Flavian amphitheater.

[SPEAKER_00]: Actually, mostly it's known as the Coliseum.

[SPEAKER_00]: And my father bought that there at the Coliseum.

[SPEAKER_00]: And there's a wonderful place, the Coliseum is, but we also saw a lot of other things there.

[SPEAKER_00]: The only thing we see the Coliseum was all the Roman Forum in the Sistine Chapel.

[SPEAKER_00]: I have a book about that and it shows airy painting in the Sistine Chapel, very close up, or you can see everything that Michael Angelou did.

[SPEAKER_00]: Not only that, we saw the system check, which is in Vatican City, also with the system check on Vatican City.

[SPEAKER_00]: They also have St.

[SPEAKER_00]: Peter's Bustilia, Bustilis, Balistia, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know.

[SPEAKER_00]: And then there's

[SPEAKER_00]: Drippy fountain.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now, Drippy fountain's very interesting.

[SPEAKER_00]: People go there and they throw in a little rock, our pebble, our penny, usually it's a penny.

[SPEAKER_00]: And you've heard of that from old song, Frank Sinatra used to sing.

[SPEAKER_00]: And people would usually put it in a penny for luck.

[SPEAKER_00]: And that's where it did me no good, by the way.

[SPEAKER_00]: But I didn't really throw one in.

[SPEAKER_00]: But that being said, it's real pretty.

[SPEAKER_00]: Everything there's very, very pretty.

[SPEAKER_00]: Really is.

[SPEAKER_00]: Very beautiful.

[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, they had that also they had the Spanish steps, both of those are beautiful.

[SPEAKER_00]: Long, beautiful steps.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I love the Spanish step.

[SPEAKER_00]: They had the pantheon, they had a catacombs, Rome solos, and so on and so on and so on.

[SPEAKER_00]: Also, when we arrived there, we got the right after we went to the Spanish steps.

[SPEAKER_00]: Remember, we went across street and we went and found a real place.

[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, places are real pizza.

[SPEAKER_00]: I never had real growing pizza before.

[SPEAKER_00]: Italian pizza.

[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I never had that for Israel.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's all different than what you get for pizza.

[SPEAKER_00]: And Domino's let me tell you, but it's good.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, it's so good.

[SPEAKER_00]: And also, it's all all things for Michelangelo.

[SPEAKER_00]: Michelangelo made a lot of wonderful art.

[SPEAKER_00]: You know, David, you've seen that before, Michelangelo's Dave.

[SPEAKER_00]: We also saw other things we saw Moses and a whole of mine's gotten a little

[SPEAKER_00]: messed up here, but David, I mean, Moses here, Moses had two horns, like I said, one of them somehow got messed up.

[SPEAKER_00]: I got to fix that, but he had two horns.

[SPEAKER_00]: So why would Moses have horns to do the devil?

[SPEAKER_00]: No, the word from raise, you know, they didn't know how to put raise on it, right?

[SPEAKER_00]: So you put the same word means horns.

[SPEAKER_00]: at least there in that language and so he put horns on his head because you don't have to do raise down later on if you're going to do that's where you get to where halo by the way later on another statue that he made with it not this one a different way made of Mary had kind of a headless look at things so figure that out later but he also made a statue of Mary holding the

[SPEAKER_00]: I guess you can say corpse or dead body of Jesus, and he made that too.

[SPEAKER_00]: He made a lot of other ones up there.

[SPEAKER_00]: He was a wonderful, wonderful artist.

[SPEAKER_00]: He painted and he built it.

[SPEAKER_00]: There was a lot of wonderful things.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not going to leave those up there case it fall.

[SPEAKER_00]: I wouldn't want that.

[SPEAKER_00]: So not like I could just jump back over the wrong one by him, you know.

[SPEAKER_00]: But anyway, so

[SPEAKER_00]: There's a lot of wonderful things there.

[SPEAKER_00]: A lot of things, uh, the Sistine Chapel, probably one of the most famous.

[SPEAKER_00]: We also saw a lot of other things, saw the Pope there at the time.

[SPEAKER_00]: There was three Pope's ago.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's a lot of things.

[SPEAKER_00]: By the way, everything that you wore on you at the time, everything you had with you at the time, they said was blessed.

[SPEAKER_00]: I was already blessed, but not because of the things I wore, but because Jesus Christ lived in me.

[SPEAKER_00]: But either way, there's a lot of things that was great to had at Rome.

[SPEAKER_00]: But there's also a lot of things that are wrong.

[SPEAKER_00]: On the street corners, I was looking at all sorts of things that had a lot of stupid movies, which I have a couple of now, because they're so dumb-looking, and they are.

[SPEAKER_00]: They had an animated version of the Titanic, pretty stupid.

[SPEAKER_00]: But anyway, they also had magazines and things for sale, and I went around to the corner of that, and there's a inappropriate thing that was magazines.

[SPEAKER_00]: Right?

[SPEAKER_00]: So the kids, everyone else, to see, had no idea.

[SPEAKER_00]: There's a lot of other vulgar, horrible behaviors I saw out there in Rome.

[SPEAKER_00]: So my point is along with the good, there's always bad.

[SPEAKER_00]: Just though it's a romantic, beautiful city, it's also a bad city, a bad place.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's the way it is, unfortunately, it almost here where you go.

[SPEAKER_00]: And the Bible tells us that it's an awful lot bad, they're in Rome.

[SPEAKER_00]: Rome and its empire started in twenty-seven BC, that means before Christ.

[SPEAKER_00]: Until forty-seven eighty, that doesn't mean after death, that means the end of dominate, the year of our Lord.

[SPEAKER_00]: About five hundred and three years, Rome dominated the globe during this time, including it dominated Israel, the year of Jesus, the time of Jesus' life, it dominated.

[SPEAKER_00]: The title today's sermon is, when in Rome, in the moment I say, when in Rome, you all say, there you go, do the Romans do.

[SPEAKER_00]: When in Rome, do the Romans do.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's a very famous saying.

[SPEAKER_00]: So when in Rome, do the Romans do?

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, that's not what the Bible says.

[SPEAKER_00]: So let's now turn to Romans chapter one.

[SPEAKER_00]: I got a lot of reading to do today, but we're going to take our time with it.

[SPEAKER_00]: Romans one, fifth king through thirty two.

[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to read fifteen to thirty two and then we'll read chapter two one through sixteen.

[SPEAKER_00]: We'll read a few things today, but let's start with Romans chapter one, fifteen through thirty two.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'll stop myself in certain areas.

[SPEAKER_00]: Fifteen.

[SPEAKER_00]: The third two it says

[SPEAKER_00]: So as much as is in me, there's Paul speaking, of course.

[SPEAKER_00]: So as much as in me, I am ready to preach the gospel to you, also who are in Rome.

[SPEAKER_00]: For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God, for salvation to everyone who believes.

[SPEAKER_00]: To the Jew first and also to the Greek.

[SPEAKER_00]: Let's be speaking about.

[SPEAKER_00]: He's speaking about first to the people that God spoke to and called to and then do all those who are not Jewish by birth.

[SPEAKER_00]: to those who he called.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's to all of us, okay?

[SPEAKER_00]: He died for all, for verse seventeen.

[SPEAKER_00]: For him, the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith as it is written on all of this.

[SPEAKER_00]: The just shall live by faith.

[SPEAKER_00]: That goes on to say in verse eighteen, the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all on godliness and on righteousness of man who suppressed the truth through unrighteousness.

[SPEAKER_00]: For what may be known about God is clear to them since God has shown it to them.

[SPEAKER_00]: The invisible things about him, his eternal power and deity have been clearly seen since the creation of the world.

[SPEAKER_00]: And are understood by the things that are made so that they are without excuse.

[SPEAKER_00]: Because although they knew God, they did not glorify him or give thanks to him as God.

[SPEAKER_00]: But, okay, now listen to this now, but it came futile in their imaginations.

[SPEAKER_00]: And their foolish hearts are were darkened, claiming to be wise, they became fools.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now listen to this, verse twenty three, they changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man, birds, forefooted beast, and creeping things.

[SPEAKER_00]: In other words, they

[SPEAKER_00]: It's God who's completely perfect.

[SPEAKER_00]: They change into imperfection.

[SPEAKER_00]: Not being they literally change God, but in their own imagination, they couldn't handle the God who's perfect and they decided, we're gonna make them the way we did.

[SPEAKER_00]: In other words, they lean to their own understanding.

[SPEAKER_00]: They're what it says in the Provers.

[SPEAKER_00]: They're not so they don't understand it.

[SPEAKER_00]: They lean to their own understanding.

[SPEAKER_00]: We don't like God the way he is.

[SPEAKER_00]: We don't like God.

[SPEAKER_00]: How about we make God more like what we like?

[SPEAKER_00]: Sounds a little familiar, doesn't it?

[SPEAKER_00]: And that's why people do nowadays.

[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, I'll go on.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'll go on.

[SPEAKER_00]: So first, twenty three again, they changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image that, uh, image made like corruptible man, birds for food of beast and creeping things.

[SPEAKER_00]: Therefore, God gave them up.

[SPEAKER_00]: to uncleanness through the lust of their hearts, who dishonor their own bodies among themselves.

[SPEAKER_00]: They turn the truth of God into a lie and worshiped and served the creature, rather than the creator who is blessed forever, amen.

[SPEAKER_00]: Meaning God is blessed forever.

[SPEAKER_00]: And how those people, okay?

[SPEAKER_00]: What do you understand that?

[SPEAKER_00]: For this reason, okay, now listen, it's going to talk about homosexuality, so I'm at lesbians and homosexuals.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, people don't like to hear that truth is truth, lies lie,

[SPEAKER_00]: The people turn truth into lie and lie into truth, if that's what they want.

[SPEAKER_00]: But listen to says here.

[SPEAKER_00]: Verse twenty six for this reason, God gave them up.

[SPEAKER_00]: Who dishonorable passions, I mean, you mean, so that he gave them what they wanted do what you're going to do.

[SPEAKER_00]: It gave us three will.

[SPEAKER_00]: So the for this reason, God gave them up to dishonorable passions.

[SPEAKER_00]: Their women exchange the natural function for what is against nature.

[SPEAKER_00]: Likewise, the men leaving the natural function of the women burn in their last tour.

[SPEAKER_00]: One another, men with men.

[SPEAKER_00]: doing that, what's his shameful and receiving in themselves, the do penalty of their ever.

[SPEAKER_00]: And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them over to the debased mind.

[SPEAKER_00]: What does that mean, pastor?

[SPEAKER_00]: First of all, I'm going to finish that verse.

[SPEAKER_00]: Give it over to a debased mind to do those things, which are not proper.

[SPEAKER_00]: A debased means depraved.

[SPEAKER_00]: It means reprobate.

[SPEAKER_00]: It means morally corrupt and wrong.

[SPEAKER_00]: I wrote all that down on the bottom of that page.

[SPEAKER_00]: I do that all the time.

[SPEAKER_00]: When you hear a word that is used a lot like depraved or debased or reprobate, I write down a more simple wording for myself.

[SPEAKER_00]: That way, if I ever get confused because that happens, get your head dug into a few times and you start getting confused a little more.

[SPEAKER_00]: So you start writing most stuff down to make it simple for you.

[SPEAKER_00]: This I do.

[SPEAKER_00]: And it's okay.

[SPEAKER_00]: God knows what you need to understand.

[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_00]: God gave them to the baseline, the morally corrupt mind, okay, to do those things which are not proper.

[SPEAKER_00]: Verse twenty nine, they were filled with all on righteousness, sexual immorality.

[SPEAKER_00]: By the way, that's not just homosexuality.

[SPEAKER_00]: I want to make that perfect clear.

[SPEAKER_00]: I knew people who used to say it's okay as long as the man's with woman.

[SPEAKER_00]: There's a lot of immoral moral stuff that can be done man with woman out of wedlock incidentally and other things.

[SPEAKER_00]: So sexually immorality, wickedness, covetness,

[SPEAKER_00]: Militiousness, full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, they are gossips, slanderers.

[SPEAKER_00]: God haters, oh, you see that today.

[SPEAKER_00]: Insolent, proud, boastful, inventors of evil things.

[SPEAKER_00]: Ooh, we see that too.

[SPEAKER_00]: And this obedient to our parents.

[SPEAKER_00]: Amen.

[SPEAKER_00]: Without understanding covenant breakers,

[SPEAKER_00]: Breaking the word without natural affection, callous, and unmerciful, who know the righteous requirement of God that those who commit systems are worthy of death, they not only do them, but also give hearty approval to those who practice them.

[SPEAKER_00]: Do we not see this in America?

[SPEAKER_00]: This is not just for Rome.

[SPEAKER_00]: We didn't Rome.

[SPEAKER_00]: They do as the Romans do.

[SPEAKER_00]: This is what we got going on nowadays, folks.

[SPEAKER_00]: This is what we see.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, we should love them.

[SPEAKER_00]: We should praise them.

[SPEAKER_00]: Hey, it's June.

[SPEAKER_00]: Let's wave the flags.

[SPEAKER_00]: Come on now.

[SPEAKER_00]: Come on.

[SPEAKER_00]: We see this all time.

[SPEAKER_00]: People say, they're brave.

[SPEAKER_00]: They're doing so good.

[SPEAKER_00]: No, no, no, no.

[SPEAKER_00]: They're getting certain suggestions.

[SPEAKER_00]: The God, which is that he's wrong and we're right.

[SPEAKER_00]: And my we, I don't mean we, I mean the royal we like like human beings who are telling God that he's incorrect and that the the one who was created is better than the creator.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sorry, I'm getting worked up.

[SPEAKER_00]: But that is so true, isn't it?

[SPEAKER_00]: Don't we see it all the time?

[SPEAKER_00]: How dare we say that to him?

[SPEAKER_00]: And folks is not just people who do those things, but do other things too.

[SPEAKER_00]: Anytime we do something that is different from what the Bible says, it is wrong.

[SPEAKER_00]: Hallelujah.

[SPEAKER_00]: It says in chapter two, because I want to go on and quote the last verse again,

[SPEAKER_00]: It says those who see, yeah, who know the racist requirement of God that those who commit such things are worthy of death, they not only do them, but also get hearty approval to those who practice them.

[SPEAKER_00]: Chapter two, therefore, to verse one, therefore you are without excuse, oh man.

[SPEAKER_00]: Whoever you are who judges for when you judge another you can damn yourself.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now some people can stop there and say, see, it's not that Steve he does.

[SPEAKER_00]: What's all I'm gonna say?

[SPEAKER_00]: Listen what it says here.

[SPEAKER_00]: It says, you, you are without a excuse, oh, man, whoever you are who judges for when you judge another, you condemn yourself for you who judge do the same things.

[SPEAKER_00]: Let me just don't be a hypocrite.

[SPEAKER_00]: Some of those people in Rome were living sinful lives and claiming because it doesn't mean they didn't know the Lord.

[SPEAKER_00]: It means they were in that group.

[SPEAKER_00]: They were living like the people around them.

[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I remember a school

[SPEAKER_00]: I won't say it was just girls.

[SPEAKER_00]: But I remember a lot of times there was girls on the bus who were gossiping about gossips in school.

[SPEAKER_00]: And they were gossiped about him.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I can't stand a gossip.

[SPEAKER_00]: What did you get?

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they're terrible gossip.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, it's so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, and I remember the bus service, our laughing goes, see, goes, well, thank goodness, you guys aren't like those gossips in there.

[SPEAKER_00]: And he would, oh, and they're like, yeah, we're not, we're not, we're not.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I used to be so funny.

[SPEAKER_00]: But don't you see how, how soon I should be like that?

[SPEAKER_00]: Once we're out of here on Sunday, Satan comes a knocking.

[SPEAKER_00]: And he comes trying to tempt.

[SPEAKER_00]: And sometimes we will give in to the flesh.

[SPEAKER_00]: We will give in to those things.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't mean the wee wee, but the royal wee, the Christians sometimes will give in to it because we give in to that temptation.

[SPEAKER_00]: And then we'll be like, yeah, that's so wrong with them.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's not just wrong for them, it's wrong for all of us.

[SPEAKER_00]: We can't be giving in to it.

[SPEAKER_00]: So we gotta be careful.

[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, I'm gonna go on.

[SPEAKER_00]: But we know that judgment of God, the verse two here.

[SPEAKER_00]: But we know that the judgment of God is according to the truth against those that commit such things.

[SPEAKER_00]: Do you think, oh man, who judges those who do such things and who does the same thing that you will escape the judgment of God, do you despise the riches of his goodness, tolerance of patience not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance?

[SPEAKER_00]: But because of your hardness and impudent heart, you are storing up treasures of wrath against you on the day of wrath, when the righteous judgment of God will be revealed, and he will render to every man according to his deeds.

[SPEAKER_00]: to those who by patiently doing good for glory and honor, and immortality will be eternal life.

[SPEAKER_00]: But those who are contentious and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath will be tribulation and anguish upon every soul of man who does evil to the Jew first.

[SPEAKER_00]: and then to the Gentile.

[SPEAKER_00]: But glory, honor and peace will be to every man who does good work to the Jew first and then to the Gentile.

[SPEAKER_00]: For there is no partiality with God.

[SPEAKER_00]: In other words, God doesn't show favoritism.

[SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't matter your race.

[SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't matter where you're from.

[SPEAKER_00]: God live for all.

[SPEAKER_00]: Come out Jesus.

[SPEAKER_00]: He created all.

[SPEAKER_00]: He lived for all.

[SPEAKER_00]: He died for all.

[SPEAKER_00]: He will save all who call upon him.

[SPEAKER_00]: But we need to live for him.

[SPEAKER_00]: All of us.

[SPEAKER_00]: Verse twelve, as many as have sinned without the law.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, so perish with the law.

[SPEAKER_00]: And as many as have sinned under the law will be judged by the law.

[SPEAKER_00]: For the hears of the law are not justified before God.

[SPEAKER_00]: But the doers of the law will be justified.

[SPEAKER_00]: For when Gentiles who do not have the law, it's time to do stuff now.

[SPEAKER_00]: For the Gentiles who do not have the law do by nature, the things contained in the law, these not having the law are a law unto themselves who show the work of the law written in their hearts.

[SPEAKER_00]: The conscience, the conscience also bearing witness while they're conflicting thoughts, accuse or even excuse them.

[SPEAKER_00]: In the day when according to my gospel, God will judge the secrets of men through Jesus Christ.

[SPEAKER_00]: This is to say it is not about our habits, it's not about what we're taught necessarily.

[SPEAKER_00]: God knows the conscience of people.

[SPEAKER_00]: He knows that we know what's right and wrong.

[SPEAKER_00]: James talks about that when we know it to do what is good and do not do it, it is sin.

[SPEAKER_00]: And we'll talk about that at another time.

[SPEAKER_00]: But the point is is, do as the world does, do as Rome does, at this moment, we're going to talk about the world, the loss, we're going to refer to it as Rome, okay?

[SPEAKER_00]: I think you understand that.

[SPEAKER_00]: Are you to do as the world does as fellow mankind does?

[SPEAKER_00]: No, we should definitely love them, but not imitate them, not emulate them.

[SPEAKER_00]: We are to love them and by loving them, we should imitate Christ and let Christ be seen in us.

[SPEAKER_00]: Let the Romans, that means the world, see Jesus in you and do as God would have you to do.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so now, I will read Romans chapter three, nine through thirty one.

[SPEAKER_00]: That sounds like a lot.

[SPEAKER_00]: It is.

[SPEAKER_00]: However, it goes quick.

[SPEAKER_00]: We're almost chapter three, verse nine through thirty one.

[SPEAKER_00]: And it says this.

[SPEAKER_00]: What then?

[SPEAKER_00]: Are we better than they?

[SPEAKER_00]: No, not at all.

[SPEAKER_00]: For we have already charged that both Jews and Gentiles are all under sin as it is written.

[SPEAKER_00]: There is none righteous.

[SPEAKER_00]: No, not one.

[SPEAKER_00]: There is no one who understands.

[SPEAKER_00]: There is no one who seeks after God.

[SPEAKER_00]: They have all turned aside together.

[SPEAKER_00]: They have become worthless.

[SPEAKER_00]: There is no one who does good.

[SPEAKER_00]: No, not one.

[SPEAKER_00]: Their throes are an open grave.

[SPEAKER_00]: With their tongues, they have used the seat.

[SPEAKER_00]: The poison of vipers is under their lips.

[SPEAKER_00]: Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness.

[SPEAKER_00]: Their feet are swift to shed blood, destruction and misery are in their paths and they do not know the way of peace.

[SPEAKER_00]: There is no fear of God before their eyes.

[SPEAKER_00]: verse nineteen now we know that whatever the law says is says to those who are under the law so that every mouth may be silenced that all the world may become accountable to God therefore by the works of the law no flesh will be justified in his sight

[SPEAKER_00]: Before I go on, I'll fish that minute, but let me tell you, when it talks about the law, it means the moral law of God.

[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, that's me, the law of the land.

[SPEAKER_00]: All right, I'm gonna explain that.

[SPEAKER_00]: Let me go on here.

[SPEAKER_00]: Verse twenty again.

[SPEAKER_00]: Therefore, by the works of the law, no flesh will be justified in his sight for through the law comes the knowledge of sin.

[SPEAKER_00]: Verse twenty one.

[SPEAKER_00]: But now, apart from the law, the righteousness of God is revealed, being witnessed by the law and the prophets, this righteousness of God comes through faith and Jesus Christ, to all and upon all who believe for there is no distinction for all have sin.

[SPEAKER_00]: and come short of the glory God, you've heard that for me a million times, being justified free by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God has set forth to be a propitiation, which means an atonement through faith, in His blood.

[SPEAKER_00]: for a demonstration of His righteousness because in His forbearance, God had passed over the sins previously committed to prove His righteousness at this present time so that He might be just and be the justifier of Him who has faith in Jesus.

[SPEAKER_00]: Where is boasting then?

[SPEAKER_00]: It is excluded by the law of works.

[SPEAKER_00]: No, but by the law of faith.

[SPEAKER_00]: Therefore, we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the works of the law.

[SPEAKER_00]: Is he the God of the Jews only?

[SPEAKER_00]: Is he not also the God of the Gentiles?

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_00]: The Gentiles also sing.

[SPEAKER_00]: It is one God.

[SPEAKER_00]: He shall justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircised by faith.

[SPEAKER_00]: Do we then make the law void through faith?

[SPEAKER_00]: God forbid, instead we establish the law.

[SPEAKER_00]: In other words, we follow the word I got about what it means by the moral law.

[SPEAKER_00]: The can't commandments is the moral law.

[SPEAKER_00]: The can't commandments is the moral law.

[SPEAKER_00]: We continue to follow something and say, we don't need to follow the can't commandments.

[SPEAKER_00]: And what do we do?

[SPEAKER_00]: That's the moral law.

[SPEAKER_00]: We know that it is wrong to lie.

[SPEAKER_00]: We know that it is wrong to murder.

[SPEAKER_00]: We know that it is wrong to disobey your parents.

[SPEAKER_00]: We know that it is wrong.

[SPEAKER_00]: And if you don't know, if we don't follow those things, then we got a problem.

[SPEAKER_00]: We got a real issue in a heart.

[SPEAKER_00]: The actions of the law of the morals should show Jesus the way that we live.

[SPEAKER_00]: Should show Jesus.

[SPEAKER_00]: This doesn't mean you're perfect.

[SPEAKER_00]: If you are perfect, you wouldn't need Jesus living within you.

[SPEAKER_00]: But the way that we live should show that, there's going to be times of truth.

[SPEAKER_00]: There's going to be times that we have problems.

[SPEAKER_00]: But God will help you get back on your feet again.

[SPEAKER_00]: To help you with your morals.

[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I hear people politically speaking.

[SPEAKER_00]: I hear people all the time talk about, oh, we need to be more moral.

[SPEAKER_00]: And yet, while they're saying that, they're mad and they're going to fit standing up for abortion.

[SPEAKER_00]: They don't seem to understand.

[SPEAKER_00]: The very thing you're standing for is lying, cheating, killing, and all these things like, you don't know what a moral is.

[SPEAKER_00]: You're talking about a social moral.

[SPEAKER_00]: In other words, what society says is right, society knows nothing without God.

[SPEAKER_00]: If you don't have morals, you're a dumber that opposed.

[SPEAKER_00]: No offense to post out there.

[SPEAKER_00]: I mean no harm.

[SPEAKER_00]: Especially post cereal.

[SPEAKER_00]: I love you.

[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, that being said, I move on.

[SPEAKER_00]: Let's now turn to Romans chapter five for swan through eleven.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, you're doing a lot of reading.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, I am.

[SPEAKER_00]: This is nothing compared to what I read this week on goodness.

[SPEAKER_00]: Romans chapter five for swan through eleven.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm skipping chapter four.

[SPEAKER_00]: That won't have time.

[SPEAKER_00]: We're almost here to five or's one through eleven scissors.

[SPEAKER_00]: Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.

[SPEAKER_00]: through who we also have access by faith in two his grace in which we stand and so we rejoice and hope of the glory of God.

[SPEAKER_00]: Not only so, but we also boast in tribulation.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I know that's hard, but we boast in our times because God is with us.

[SPEAKER_00]: Jesus is with us.

[SPEAKER_00]: So I say it again.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now, only so, but we also boast in tribulation, knowing that tribulation produces patients, patients produces character and character produces hope.

[SPEAKER_00]: Verse five, and hope does not disappoint because the love of God is shed abroad.

[SPEAKER_00]: in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who has been given to us, while we were yet weak and do time, Christ died for the ungodly, rarely for the righteous man, will one die, yet perhaps for a good man, some will even dare to die, but God demonstrates His own love toward us, and that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

[SPEAKER_00]: Amen.

[SPEAKER_00]: But, mutt.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sorry, let me make sure I'm stopping the right place.

[SPEAKER_00]: But much more than being now justified by his blood, shall we be saved from wrath through him?

[SPEAKER_00]: For if while we were enemies, we were reconciled by God,

[SPEAKER_00]: by the death of his son, how much more being reconciled shall we be saved by his life.

[SPEAKER_00]: Furthermore, we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through who we have now received reconciliation.

[SPEAKER_00]: Our Lord God has saved us.

[SPEAKER_00]: When we think about the times in Rome,

[SPEAKER_00]: It'd be wonderful to think that they had a great time in Rome.

[SPEAKER_00]: I went to go into Rome.

[SPEAKER_00]: It was great.

[SPEAKER_00]: We had a wonderful time.

[SPEAKER_00]: Not only that, but we also saw Paul, excuse me.

[SPEAKER_00]: We saw the Pope there.

[SPEAKER_00]: And who do we see what Pope was it?

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm trying to think of his name as it.

[SPEAKER_00]: Pope Paul, I don't remember.

[SPEAKER_00]: John Paul, yeah, Pope John Paul the second.

[SPEAKER_00]: And that was three pokes ago.

[SPEAKER_00]: We saw the Pope now.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think much about all that jazz except that while we were there as we were saying earlier while we were there, it was nice to get to see it.

[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't understand when they said, now it's speaking English.

[SPEAKER_00]: I said, I didn't recognize it.

[SPEAKER_00]: I couldn't tell.

[SPEAKER_00]: But I couldn't understand it.

[SPEAKER_00]: But that being said, people loved it.

[SPEAKER_00]: That was great.

[SPEAKER_00]: That was wonderful.

[SPEAKER_00]: that we got to do that.

[SPEAKER_00]: We had changed things around to get to see him.

[SPEAKER_00]: It was nice.

[SPEAKER_00]: It was wonderful.

[SPEAKER_00]: But all that being said, I don't think much of the Pope because he's just the man.

[SPEAKER_00]: He's not all that in the bag of chips, as some would say, I'd rather have the chips.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm simply, what you can tell I've had.

[SPEAKER_00]: My point is that there's nothing special about the man in the sense that he's just the man.

[SPEAKER_00]: Power is not in him, power is in Christ.

[SPEAKER_00]: And you have more power than him if he does your no price.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now, I don't know that he does.

[SPEAKER_00]: I think that man did.

[SPEAKER_00]: But that being said, I don't know about this one.

[SPEAKER_00]: Some think he's great.

[SPEAKER_00]: The one before I don't know that he knew Jesus.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think he did.

[SPEAKER_00]: He served his stand for a lot of unbiblical things.

[SPEAKER_00]: The point is not, is this, a man in a robe isn't what makes a man.

[SPEAKER_00]: What makes a man is Jesus Christ who died on the cross of the rose from the dead.

[SPEAKER_00]: You ask me to save you from your sins.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now, I was glad to get to see the Pope.

[SPEAKER_00]: That was a great thing because it was historical in a sense.

[SPEAKER_00]: It was great.

[SPEAKER_00]: It happened rarely at the time.

[SPEAKER_00]: It was wonderful to get to see that.

[SPEAKER_00]: I could say I saw the Pope.

[SPEAKER_00]: But all that, all that being said, I saw it was just a man standing up there in front of a lot of things and people were bowing down to him as if he was a God.

[SPEAKER_00]: That made me sad.

[SPEAKER_00]: But really, really did because he's not a God.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now, could he be used to got sure?

[SPEAKER_00]: But honestly, a lot of times people bring God out of things, instead of God himself, and that's a shame to me.

[SPEAKER_00]: But what happened at the time of Rome back then?

[SPEAKER_00]: At the time, people started hating Christians in Rome.

[SPEAKER_00]: There was a time while I'll get to that minute, but there was a lot of beheadings in Rome to a lot of people.

[SPEAKER_00]: Paul was one of them, by the way.

[SPEAKER_00]: The very man who's speaking to you now through Romans, he was beheaded in Rome.

[SPEAKER_00]: There's a lot of people who were crucified.

[SPEAKER_00]: in Rome, Peter was one of them.

[SPEAKER_00]: Peter did, as far as we know, history tells us, Peter did not want to die the same way his Lord Savior did.

[SPEAKER_00]: So he asked me crucified upside down.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's what history tells us.

[SPEAKER_00]: And there is a place there, and that one of the chapels that shows the place where they believed he was upside down and crucified.

[SPEAKER_00]: Many of them thousands of them even have Christians were fed to the lions.

[SPEAKER_00]: fed to the lions.

[SPEAKER_00]: But even those who died, they said, they died with the lion in them.

[SPEAKER_00]: That is Christ, Christ the lion in them.

[SPEAKER_00]: And they rejoiced.

[SPEAKER_00]: They rejoiced in the Lord as they were fed to the lions.

[SPEAKER_00]: They said, you can hear them singing as they died.

[SPEAKER_00]: I heard a jerk online.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, he was a jerk saying, oh, but they weren't singing when they died.

[SPEAKER_00]: I bet they were.

[SPEAKER_00]: I said to this, I bet they were.

[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe not here on earth.

[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't say this to him when I said you ignorant rich because they were singing in heaven and being rejoice because they died for Christ last he died for them and I was so

[SPEAKER_00]: In some ways, invious, but to know what folks, it may not be that you're to die for him, but you are to live for Jesus.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, we need to live for Jesus with our heart and soul.

[SPEAKER_00]: Many Christians were killed in Rome and the Colosseum fed of the lions, not maybe not that Colosseum because there was another one for that.

[SPEAKER_00]: But also, they started with persecutions earlier than what we saw.

[SPEAKER_00]: But then, in sixty-four AD, there was a great fire that happened.

[SPEAKER_00]: And Nero, you've heard of Nero.

[SPEAKER_00]: Blame the Christians for that fire whether that was the case or not whether they started the fire what's I doubt According to Bill of Joel, they didn't start the fire.

[SPEAKER_00]: No, I'm kidding, but they the effect is Neuroblame the Christians for if I believe that he uses an excuse most people believe that he uses a excuse just to kill the Christians they're tired of hearing about them because you have to understand about Rome

[SPEAKER_00]: Rome took a lot of what they had from Greece.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so they worship the bazillion gods, false gods.

[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I'll say this every February that Chupid is the same false god of love as arrows.

[SPEAKER_00]: Arrows is the god of love.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's where you get the arrows from.

[SPEAKER_00]: And Chupid is the same god.

[SPEAKER_00]: They have that

[SPEAKER_00]: different names for a lot of the same gods of Greece and other places to it.

[SPEAKER_00]: They put it all together and they worshiped it.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's okay to have statues, by the way.

[SPEAKER_00]: But they didn't think they were statues.

[SPEAKER_00]: A lot of them thought they were real gods.

[SPEAKER_00]: And they worshiped it as if they were real gods.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now, I don't know.

[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, some of that stuff was in the Bible too.

[SPEAKER_00]: People would do that.

[SPEAKER_00]: But the point is that neuro-brained Christians are so he had the first official persecutions of the Christians.

[SPEAKER_00]: all the way and I'm talking about from sixty-four eighty all the way until the four centuries so for over three hundred years they persecute Christians but they could not silence Christianity they tried to kill them all but they could not kill Christ oh you when he died physically you could not kill Christ he rose back from the dead they could not kill Christianity

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, people said, oh, they killed it.

[SPEAKER_00]: No, you cannot kill it.

[SPEAKER_00]: You cannot kill it because there's something that lives within you.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so though we are in Rome now.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yes, we're in Rome now.

[SPEAKER_00]: You live in Rome, here in America.

[SPEAKER_00]: You live in Rome.

[SPEAKER_00]: They're trying to shut you up on Facebook.

[SPEAKER_00]: They're trying to shut you up on whatever place you're on, whatever format you're on.

[SPEAKER_00]: They're trying to shut you up in your home.

[SPEAKER_00]: They're trying to shut you up in your land.

[SPEAKER_00]: They're trying to shut us up on YouTube.

[SPEAKER_00]: They're trying to shut us up.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I know I'm pushing it.

[SPEAKER_00]: But let me tell you, I don't care.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm trying to shut us up everywhere we go.

[SPEAKER_00]: They shut us down.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know how many times on these places.

[SPEAKER_00]: But you know what?

[SPEAKER_00]: I will not shut up.

[SPEAKER_00]: You and I shut me up because the thing is, I say, over and over again, I will continue to worship God, no matter what they do, because Creator sees in me, the He's of the world.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm going to serve Jesus Christ until the day I die.

[SPEAKER_00]: But we have to continue to speak the truth.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I say, and I mean, let the Lionel Jesus speak through you, loudly, to Rome, through you.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, you're living in a sense of Rome, you sure are.

[SPEAKER_00]: And when in Rome, don't do as the Romans do, do as the creator would have you do.

[SPEAKER_00]: Amen.

[SPEAKER_00]: Amen.

[SPEAKER_00]: And the last scripture before the closing, the last scripture on a review is Romans chapter six, verse five through eleven.

[SPEAKER_00]: Romans chapter five, what pretty quick, didn't it?

[SPEAKER_00]: You wouldn't think it would, but it did.

[SPEAKER_00]: Romans six, five through eleven says this.

[SPEAKER_00]: For if we have united with him, that means Jesus, if we have united with him and the likeness of his death, so shall we also be united with him and the likeness of his resurrection, knowing this that our old man has been crucified with him so that the body of sin might be destroyed.

[SPEAKER_00]: And we should no longer be slaves to sin,

[SPEAKER_00]: for the one who has died is freed from sin.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now, if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him.

[SPEAKER_00]: Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead will never listen us now.

[SPEAKER_00]: will never die again.

[SPEAKER_00]: Death has no further dominion over him.

[SPEAKER_00]: I want to say this, people who keep thinking you can lose salvation.

[SPEAKER_00]: They keep killing Jesus, put them on the cross, put them on the cross, put them on the cross again again.

[SPEAKER_00]: No, no, no, no, no.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to say it again.

[SPEAKER_00]: Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead will never die again.

[SPEAKER_00]: Death have no over dominion over him.

[SPEAKER_00]: Have no further dominion over him.

[SPEAKER_00]: For death, he died.

[SPEAKER_00]: He died to sin once for all.

[SPEAKER_00]: But the life he lives, he lives to God.

[SPEAKER_00]: Likewise, you also consider yourself to be dead to sin.

[SPEAKER_00]: But the life to God through Jesus Christ are Lord.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I say this to you, there will be times that you might fail.

[SPEAKER_00]: There will be times your flesh will try to win out.

[SPEAKER_00]: And every time you may lose for the moment.

[SPEAKER_00]: And even if you lose for the moment, just call upon the lion.

[SPEAKER_00]: That leaves within you.

[SPEAKER_00]: Call upon that lion.

[SPEAKER_00]: And you scare that cowardly lion away from you.

[SPEAKER_00]: And who's the cowardly lion?

[SPEAKER_00]: What you know, who is Satan?

[SPEAKER_00]: Satan's not a real lion.

[SPEAKER_00]: He's pretending to be a lion.

[SPEAKER_00]: He's going to rat her there, trying to pretend to be a lion.

[SPEAKER_00]: But you call the real lion out.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I'll tell you when the real lion of the Lord Jesus Christ comes out, there's a cowardly lion.

[SPEAKER_00]: He's scared.

[SPEAKER_00]: He's going to run away.

[SPEAKER_00]: He's going to scare.

[SPEAKER_00]: He's the cowardly line.

[SPEAKER_00]: He's going to run away.

[SPEAKER_00]: He's scared of death.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm going to tell you something that power, Jesus is grading you.

[SPEAKER_00]: You remember that.

[SPEAKER_00]: You remember.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm going to close with Romans six, twenty three for the wages of sin is death.

[SPEAKER_00]: But the gift of God is eternal life.

[SPEAKER_00]: The Jesus Christ are Lord.

[SPEAKER_00]: Let's close and prayer.

[SPEAKER_00]: Lord Jesus, as we come to you today, Lord, I pray that we remember no matter where we're at, rather home or in Rome, that we allow you, Lord Jesus Christ, to be seen in us, let you, Lord Jesus, great lion.

[SPEAKER_00]: I pray, Lord God, that you will be seen everywhere we go, that people will see your might and your power.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now because we're mighty, but you are.

[SPEAKER_00]: I pray, Lord God, that when we are tempted to give in to the things of this world, that we will allow you to overpower it, that we will allow it, Lord Jesus.

[SPEAKER_00]: You've given us free will, but Lord God, sometimes we forget just how powerful you truly are.

[SPEAKER_00]: I pray that we will no longer give in to that power of the world around us, but given to you who's created the world.

[SPEAKER_00]: I pray this and your holy-pressed name, Lord Jesus.

[SPEAKER_00]: Amen.
