[SPEAKER_00]: So let's turn our first vessel on these chapter five.

[SPEAKER_00]: Did I get your attention?

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: What you do is you go real calm and then you're, anyway.

[SPEAKER_00]: So first vessel on these chapter five.

[SPEAKER_00]: 16 through 18, let's now stand the honor of the reading of his word.

[SPEAKER_00]: If you can, I understand if you cannot.

[SPEAKER_00]: So it says in 1st, that's the only chapter five or 16 through 18, rejoice always, pray without ceasing.

[SPEAKER_00]: And everything, you have thanks.

[SPEAKER_00]: For this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

[SPEAKER_00]: God bless and honor of the reading of his word, and you may be seated.

[SPEAKER_00]: The Mayflower Compact, the Mayflower Compact, was signed on November the 11th, 1620.

[SPEAKER_00]: It was on a different calendar then.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's right about the time of this year, even though it's a different date.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's the first official document framework of our government.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's so, you know, that too.

[SPEAKER_00]: Even though it's before, we were known as the United States of America.

[SPEAKER_00]: It says this.

[SPEAKER_00]: In the name of God, amen.

[SPEAKER_00]: We whose names are underwritten, the loyal subjects of our dreads sovereign Lord King James.

[SPEAKER_00]: By the grace of God of Great Britain, France, and Ireland, King, defender of the faith, etc.

[SPEAKER_00]: have undertaken for the glory of God and advancement of the Christian faith and the honor of our King and country, a voyage to plant the first colony and the northern

[SPEAKER_00]: Do by these Presence, Sonally and Mutually, and the Presence of God and one another, and it goes on to say other things.

[SPEAKER_00]: We know a lot about what happened on Mayflower.

[SPEAKER_00]: But rarely do we talk about it.

[SPEAKER_00]: We mostly talk about the fact that they landed, met Indians, eight, the end.

[SPEAKER_00]: But that's not all the happening.

[SPEAKER_00]: First of all, the man who was in charge of the Mayflower, he was known as Master Christopher Jones.

[SPEAKER_00]: He was the owner of the ship.

[SPEAKER_00]: But that's not all to the story either.

[SPEAKER_00]: The fact is, is that there were two ships, two ships, and they left in July.

[SPEAKER_00]: with the intention of landing early before the winter started.

[SPEAKER_00]: So they left in July with two ships.

[SPEAKER_00]: One known as the Mayflower.

[SPEAKER_00]: I think you've heard of it once or twice.

[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe my goodness they have insurance is by that name and all sorts of other things.

[SPEAKER_00]: You know the Mayflower.

[SPEAKER_00]: But there was another ship known as the Speedwell.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, the Speedwell didn't make it.

[SPEAKER_00]: It started to leak.

[SPEAKER_00]: It started to leak and so they had to turn around.

[SPEAKER_00]: And because they had to turn around, they got here much later than they intended.

[SPEAKER_00]: So that's what happened.

[SPEAKER_00]: They ended up having problems with that boat, with that ship.

[SPEAKER_00]: And therefore, they didn't get things that go as they planned.

[SPEAKER_00]: It just didn't happen.

[SPEAKER_00]: So this was written that talking about the Mayflower Compact.

[SPEAKER_00]: This was written after a 66-day voyage.

[SPEAKER_00]: But a lot of other things happened too.

[SPEAKER_00]: They landed on the Plymouth Rock on September the 6th, 1620.

[SPEAKER_00]: So if that's what happened, how come they didn't write this until November 11th because they didn't land exactly where they ended up staying.

[SPEAKER_00]: They went a little farther north of the intended, so they went a little farther down and they landed again.

[SPEAKER_00]: And that's when they stayed there.

[SPEAKER_00]: But they didn't get out of the ship.

[SPEAKER_00]: They stayed there until the winter was done, that the captain stayed with them.

[SPEAKER_00]: These things happen, and why?

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, let me just tell you that they left Clemis, and I'm not talking about Clemis here, Clemis Rock will hear, they left Clemis England on board the Mayflower with the crew of about 30 different workers, but there was 102 passengers.

[SPEAKER_00]: here to America and live here.

[SPEAKER_00]: There were 78 males and there were 28 females and 37 of the people were Puritans.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now what other Puritans, Puritans?

[SPEAKER_00]: There's a Christian, a strict Christian because they had definite different ideas of how we were supposed to serve God, not just going by the very loose religious people who lived there in England.

[SPEAKER_00]: they wanted to be very, very careful, but see something had happened already.

[SPEAKER_00]: Already they had left England years before and they went to the Netherlands and they had lived in the Netherlands for about a decade before that.

[SPEAKER_00]: But what had happened was when they lived in the Netherlands, the Netherlands people did not live very morally and so a lot of their young people started living like the immor people of the Netherlands.

[SPEAKER_00]: So they decided never got to go back to England and they did and then when they went back to England they decided we're at the leave again and they did and when they left then they decided to go back and now they were on that ship

[SPEAKER_00]: And why?

[SPEAKER_00]: Because when they are in England, they're facing persecution, persecution for following God, being made fun of being mocked.

[SPEAKER_00]: We might say, oh, I can't imagine, yes, you can't.

[SPEAKER_00]: You're mocked by your family sometimes.

[SPEAKER_00]: You're mocked by your friends.

[SPEAKER_00]: You're mocked by your coworkers.

[SPEAKER_00]: You're mocked by the people of your neighborhood.

[SPEAKER_00]: You're mocked on Facebook.

[SPEAKER_00]: You're mocked on whatever you're mocked.

[SPEAKER_00]: because they're not mocking you.

[SPEAKER_00]: They're mocking Christ, they're mocking Jesus.

[SPEAKER_00]: You're too strict.

[SPEAKER_00]: You're too this.

[SPEAKER_00]: You're too that folks has nothing to do with you.

[SPEAKER_00]: He has to do with He who glis within you.

[SPEAKER_00]: And everybody has their ideas something we should do.

[SPEAKER_00]: You have to re-canger.

[SPEAKER_00]: You have to dress with that type.

[SPEAKER_00]: You have to do that folks.

[SPEAKER_00]: We're not talking about personal choices and personal preferences.

[SPEAKER_00]: We're talking about the main thing.

[SPEAKER_00]: he who lives within you, Jesus.

[SPEAKER_00]: And that's what they're persecuted for.

[SPEAKER_00]: So they found corruption and Netherlands, so they decided America, who that was unpopulated, would be the best place to go to get away from the corruption.

[SPEAKER_00]: So that's what they did.

[SPEAKER_00]: 19 family groups, including three pregnant women went in there, they left and one of the children was born on the ship.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so they got there and over 30 children were there and even a couple older people, by the way, when I say over talk of 50s and 60s, I'm going to be 15 next year.

[SPEAKER_00]: That doesn't seem that old to me, but you don't want to back in, that was old, because people didn't live very, to be very old.

[SPEAKER_00]: And in that group, we know about one of the passengers' name was William Bradford.

[SPEAKER_00]: He was not the leader, but he became kind of a leader amongst the people because he was a good Christian man.

[SPEAKER_00]: But unfortunately, we also find out that a lot of people didn't make it.

[SPEAKER_00]: A lot of people did not make it, many of them died, many of them died, and why, well, they died because they got sick.

[SPEAKER_00]: They got sick.

[SPEAKER_00]: In fact, there was one guy who was one of the crewmen who made fun of the Christians, mocked them, mocked them, and said horrible things about them being dead, well, he ended up dying.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm not saying this because, ha ha, I'm saying this because, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh.

[SPEAKER_00]: never mock the Lord, never, we should pray for those people and not want bad upon them.

[SPEAKER_00]: But the thing is, is they went through horrible persecution to go through horrible tests, horrible times.

[SPEAKER_00]: They went and so many of them died.

[SPEAKER_00]: They died through illness, through cold, through all these things, and many of the children lived, though most of them did.

[SPEAKER_00]: And a lot of this stuff happened a lot of the men died too, but we are to be grateful.

[SPEAKER_00]: So why am I telling you all?

[SPEAKER_00]: It's a telling you all us to know this.

[SPEAKER_00]: They wrote the Mayflower Compact after landing here.

[SPEAKER_00]: And after that, after all that, a year later, they had the things giving celebration, thanking God that they lived and went through all the hardships.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now, I'm saying this to you, yes, they met the Indians, and that was all wonderful and great, and God sent the Indians to help them and be with them.

[SPEAKER_00]: And that was wonderful.

[SPEAKER_00]: But the truth is, it's not about getting together every day every Thanksgiving that didn't happen right away.

[SPEAKER_00]: It wasn't about that.

[SPEAKER_00]: It wasn't about eating turkey and watching parades

[SPEAKER_00]: It wasn't about all that, it's about thinking God for bringing them through the difficulties through the hard times.

[SPEAKER_00]: So that is why the title of today's sermon is, thank God always.

[SPEAKER_00]: Thank God always.

[SPEAKER_00]: Thank God always.

[SPEAKER_00]: The very first part of this sermon we're gonna talk about to thank God and be grateful from the beginning.

[SPEAKER_00]: The moment you get saved, thank God to be grateful.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's easy to knew that when you've been lost, when you have been on your way to hell

[SPEAKER_00]: And you can become very thankful and grateful because you remember because you were just right there, and you were on the way, the path to hell, and now something you've been saved and you're grateful.

[SPEAKER_00]: Because you were just there.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's a new fresh start, a new road.

[SPEAKER_00]: The pilgrims, travelers, are must like a new Christian.

[SPEAKER_00]: We're on a brand new road, second pilgrims progress.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sure you've heard that book.

[SPEAKER_00]: The brand new road, and we need to be thankful to God when we're on it.

[SPEAKER_00]: And we need to start everything off a new blueprint, a new basis.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's how we need to start our life.

[SPEAKER_00]: We need to be like those pilgrims on a new path, go to a new land and new Christian land.

[SPEAKER_00]: We have a new life.

[SPEAKER_00]: It says in Psalm 717, I will thank the Lord, according to His righteousness.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I will sing praise to the name of the Lord,

[SPEAKER_00]: I will thank the Lord according to His righteousness.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I will sing praise to the name of the Lord, Most High.

[SPEAKER_00]: Psalm 9, one through two says this, I will give thanks to you, O Lord, with my whole heart.

[SPEAKER_00]: I would declare all your marvelous works.

[SPEAKER_00]: I will be glad to rejoice in you.

[SPEAKER_00]: I will sing praise to your name, almost high.

[SPEAKER_00]: When we're grateful, we're grateful, we're grateful to God for all things.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's like when you've been close to death, when you've been close to a wreck, you've ever been close to a wreck, I've prayed, hope not.

[SPEAKER_00]: I hope, but when you're close to a wreck, I said, oh, you get out of it, you say thank you, Lord, thank you, Lord.

[SPEAKER_00]: It shouldn't come down to that moment for us to be thankful to God.

[SPEAKER_00]: But a lot of times it does, it's a reminder, we've had that happen.

[SPEAKER_00]: When you go to a test, then someone says, I think you may have a problem, and you go through it.

[SPEAKER_00]: And then you come out and all as well, or someone comes out of a horrible time, and you're thinking God for having that person.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know how many times my father.

[SPEAKER_00]: went through heart problems, cancer problems, this problem, that problem, he went through every road back-of-forth.

[SPEAKER_00]: He's in heaven now.

[SPEAKER_00]: Folks, he went through so many things.

[SPEAKER_00]: And when he did pass, it was hard to accept and believe, because the man went through so many things, the difference is,

[SPEAKER_00]: He is alive.

[SPEAKER_00]: He's alive with the Lord.

[SPEAKER_00]: Amen.

[SPEAKER_00]: So that's the thing we got to remember, just because we can't seem, doesn't mean he's not alive.

[SPEAKER_00]: Just live with the Lord.

[SPEAKER_00]: We need to remember that God is with us.

[SPEAKER_00]: Psalm 107 verse 1, I love how the Psalms are all connected here.

[SPEAKER_00]: But I like this one and we need to hear it.

[SPEAKER_00]: And by the way, this one will connect us to quite a few others.

[SPEAKER_00]: Psalm 107 verse 1 says,

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, give thanks unto the Lord for He is good, for His mercy and doors forever.

[SPEAKER_00]: That one sounds familiar, Pastor, well, they should, because Psalm 106 verse 1, Psalm 107 verse 1, Psalm 118 verse 1, and first Chronicles 1634 are pretty much

[SPEAKER_00]: all this aim.

[SPEAKER_00]: They're not identical with the close.

[SPEAKER_00]: And there's a few others that sounds similar, but I'll say them again so you can write them down if you want.

[SPEAKER_00]: Psalm 106 verse 1.

[SPEAKER_00]: Psalm 107 verse 1.

[SPEAKER_00]: Psalm 118 verse 1.

Psalms 118:1

[SPEAKER_00]: And first Chronicles 1634.

[SPEAKER_00]: every one of these things or one of these kids are doing their own thing.

[SPEAKER_00]: You know, first Chronicles, nothing quite fit in with that, but it does.

[SPEAKER_00]: They all say mercy and doers forever, God's love and mercy and doers forever.

[SPEAKER_00]: And it does.

[SPEAKER_00]: He's merciful to us.

[SPEAKER_00]: We don't deserve it.

[SPEAKER_00]: But that's why we're grateful.

[SPEAKER_00]: Thankful.

[SPEAKER_00]: We should always be grateful because of his grace.

[SPEAKER_00]: We don't deserve it, and we are now going to go through a list of when we should be thankful.

[SPEAKER_00]: The first time, we should be thankful through all the bad times.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now folks right now, there's a lot of us who are going through bad times, hard times, difficult times, strange times, difficult, maybe all of us.

[SPEAKER_00]: But if not now, maybe tomorrow, maybe yesterday, maybe years from now, we're all going to go through hard times, bad times, difficulties, trials, times of fear, and times of loss.

[SPEAKER_00]: But when all seems lost, we're not to be thankful for what we're going through, but we're

[SPEAKER_00]: to take us through those hard times.

[SPEAKER_00]: People don't always understand that.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm supposed to be grateful that I'm suffering, no, no, no.

[SPEAKER_00]: You're to be thankful and grateful that God is with you while you're suffering.

[SPEAKER_00]: You may ruin your kid and you're feeling sick to your stomach.

[SPEAKER_00]: You had the flu or whatever it was.

[SPEAKER_00]: You remember you wanted your mama?

[SPEAKER_00]: Remember that you put your head on for chest or as you hug you and rock you back for that's what God is now.

[SPEAKER_00]: Are you saying God is my mama?

[SPEAKER_00]: Holy Spirit, your mama.

[SPEAKER_00]: God is the father.

[SPEAKER_00]: But he brings you in.

[SPEAKER_00]: He hugs you and holds you through prayer.

[SPEAKER_00]: He brings you together.

[SPEAKER_00]: He keeps you safe at warm in the spirit.

[SPEAKER_00]: When you're going through it was difficult times and you create a him.

[SPEAKER_00]: You're crying at night.

[SPEAKER_00]: There's not a wrong crime, by the way.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's what limitations is all about.

[SPEAKER_00]: When you're praying under him.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, yes, God is with you.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, He's with you through those difficult times when you lost your husband, God was with you.

[SPEAKER_00]: When you lost your child, God was with you.

[SPEAKER_00]: When you lost your wife, God was with you.

[SPEAKER_00]: When you lost your girlfriend, God was with you.

[SPEAKER_00]: When you lost your boyfriend, God was with you.

[SPEAKER_00]: When you lost your job, God was with you.

[SPEAKER_00]: And his with you now.

[SPEAKER_00]: When you lost, it seemed like all hope God is with you because God is your hope.

[SPEAKER_00]: Christ is your hope.

[SPEAKER_00]: What does it say?

[SPEAKER_00]: And by the way, have you not noticed yet that there's a lot of Psalms that help with this?

[SPEAKER_00]: What is Psalm a song?

[SPEAKER_00]: This is why the hymn is we just saying and praise songs that are praise songs from other places.

[SPEAKER_00]: Help you tremendously people say, why are you saying so much?

[SPEAKER_00]: Because it's helpful.

[SPEAKER_00]: David and others saying all the time.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I'm so glad you asked.

[SPEAKER_00]: Psalm 28 verse 7 says, the Lord is my strength and my shield.

Psalms 28:7

[SPEAKER_00]: My heart pressed it in him and I was helped.

[SPEAKER_00]: Therefore, my heart rejoices and with my song, I will thank him.

[SPEAKER_00]: We thank him.

[SPEAKER_00]: Just now we are thanking him.

[SPEAKER_00]: Through song, through prayer, we give it in to God.

[SPEAKER_00]: He is our strength in our difficult times.

[SPEAKER_00]: He is the one.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, man, there's been times I didn't think I could make it.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I knew I couldn't on my own.

[SPEAKER_00]: People all the time say, oh, I can do that.

[SPEAKER_00]: I can do all things.

[SPEAKER_00]: Ah, ah, no, you can't.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, it says so in Philippians 413, no, it doesn't.

[SPEAKER_00]: It does not say that.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, it does.

[SPEAKER_00]: No, it doesn't.

[SPEAKER_00]: It says, I can do all things through Christ.

[SPEAKER_00]: It strengthens me.

[SPEAKER_00]: Don't put a comma where there is no comma.

[SPEAKER_00]: Don't put a period where there is no period.

[SPEAKER_00]: And don't give half of verse.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now, you might notice on the side out there, I gave half of verse.

[SPEAKER_00]: because I didn't have room for the rest, but I gave the point of being grateful and thankful.

[SPEAKER_00]: The rest of it would have gone with it too.

[SPEAKER_00]: Either way, either way.

[SPEAKER_00]: Psalm, verse, excuse me, Psalm chapter 30, verse 11 and 12.

[SPEAKER_00]: Psalm chapter 30, verse 11 and 12, says this.

[SPEAKER_00]: For you have turned my morning into dancing.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now we're not talking about being in the morning of the day,

[SPEAKER_00]: means when we're in sorrow, when we're mourning, when we've lost someone of something, this is what it says.

[SPEAKER_00]: You have turned my morning into dancing.

[SPEAKER_00]: You have put off my sackcloth, and dirted me with gladness.

[SPEAKER_00]: What does it mean sackcloth?

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, used to when people were mourning and suffering, they put on sackcloth.

[SPEAKER_00]: It was a type of cloth, usually black, and they

[SPEAKER_00]: went on to Nineveh.

[SPEAKER_00]: And they knew that they were all going to die.

[SPEAKER_00]: They covered everything, even animals and such, in sackcloth.

[SPEAKER_00]: Why cloth?

[SPEAKER_00]: And they said in ashes, and they were ready to die.

[SPEAKER_00]: And they were mourning, knowing that they deserved to die.

[SPEAKER_00]: Folks, have you ever been so sad?

[SPEAKER_00]: You just dressed in black.

[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe you've seen people do that.

[SPEAKER_00]: They dress them by the way, I'm not talking about any of you dressed in black time, y'all look this wonderful black me personally.

[SPEAKER_00]: I have worn black before when someone won something I didn't like, you know, I act like an idiot.

[SPEAKER_00]: And there's other times when ever the cheese lost.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not saying they're going to today, but when it's East Los, and I would wear black because I was like, oh, no, you know, you know, you know how we get, we get silly, right?

[SPEAKER_00]: But this is a different thing when you're mourning, what does it say?

[SPEAKER_00]: It says, you have put off my set, Hoth, and girded me with gladness, first 12 here, so that might be.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'll say again, so that my glory may sing praise to you unto the Lord and not be silent O Lord my God.

[SPEAKER_00]: I will give thanks to you forever.

[SPEAKER_00]: Hallelujah.

[SPEAKER_00]: Hallelujah.

[SPEAKER_00]: We're not to be ashamed but to praise God for everything.

[SPEAKER_00]: And then we have Psalm 50 verse 14.

[SPEAKER_00]: I like this, they used to give offerings until the Lord, well, the offerings that they give was a thank offering, thank God, giving back to God, giving him something wonderful, well, we give offerings to them.

[SPEAKER_00]: Thanks, let's what it says.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's Psalm 50 verse 14, it says, sacrifice to think offering to God and pay your vows to the most high, giving promises, giving something back to the Lord.

[SPEAKER_00]: We give in a God as he's given in us.

[SPEAKER_00]: We can never pay him back, but we do our best to serve and do best for him.

[SPEAKER_00]: Psalm 116 verse 17, Psalm 116 verse 17, I will offer to you the sacrifice of Thanksgiving, and I will call upon the name of the Lord.

[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you, Lord.

[SPEAKER_00]: And then I like this.

[SPEAKER_00]: Jonah chapter two verse nine.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to sacrifice this year because I want you to see a pattern.

[SPEAKER_00]: When we're going through difficulties, we try to give Lord, have you ever heard people make vows?

[SPEAKER_00]: Some high-stupid vows.

[SPEAKER_00]: Lord, if you give me another smash, I promise I'm going to go to church every single week.

[SPEAKER_00]: I promise I'm going to give my left pinky, Lord, if you, if you'll help me win a million dollars, have you ever heard people say that?

[SPEAKER_00]: Lord, if you'll just help me win two million dollars, okay?

[SPEAKER_00]: Remember, let me, let me, let me, let me, let me, let me, let me, let me, let me, let me, let me, let me, let me, let me, let me, let me, let me, let me, let me, let me, let me, let me, let me, let me, let me, let me, let me, let me, let me, let me, let me, let me, let me, let me, let me, let me,

[SPEAKER_00]: The people do that.

[SPEAKER_00]: See, I agree.

[SPEAKER_00]: You're not a leprechaun.

[SPEAKER_00]: We're supposed to treat God like the Lord God, not like a personal bank.

[SPEAKER_00]: not like a leprechaun, not like a fairy to give us all our wishes, but people do the all-time making vows.

[SPEAKER_00]: Lord, if you will just, I've got myself in trouble this time with my job or if you will just help me, a lot of times they do that when they've been sinned, and not listening to God, and running around in circles, they do it all sorts of things, and I'm not going to listen to that, man.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, wait, wait, wait, I still have one, and you know, they do that all the time.

[SPEAKER_00]: Lord, but folks were not doing that.

[SPEAKER_00]: We're not doing that,

[SPEAKER_00]: God told him to follow him, to go to an animal, was he to go with the opposite direction?

[SPEAKER_00]: God said, no, you know, he sent a fish.

[SPEAKER_00]: And fish got him.

[SPEAKER_00]: And God put Jonah out like bait.

[SPEAKER_00]: And the fish swallowed him all.

[SPEAKER_00]: And he took him and he was taking him and said,

[SPEAKER_00]: God's my GPS and I'm taking you to where you're supposed to go and he goes, okay, but let's someone Jonah said in chapter two.

[SPEAKER_00]: And remember, Jesus uses his own example or when he was in the grave.

[SPEAKER_00]: Jesus talked about this.

[SPEAKER_00]: But Jonah, Jonah 29, but I will sacrifice to you talking to the Lord with the voice of thanksgiving, giving thanks.

[SPEAKER_00]: I will pay what I have vowed, what I have promised.

[SPEAKER_00]: Salvation is of the Lord.

[SPEAKER_00]: salvation is of the Lord.

[SPEAKER_00]: We should not be in hard times, difficulties, bad things before we start making vows to God.

[SPEAKER_00]: But if you are in those difficult times and you're making vows to God, mean it, mean it, mean it, mean it, learn from them and let that change you thoroughly.

[SPEAKER_00]: I learned

[SPEAKER_00]: And I remember those bad times.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, people are always supposed to forgive.

[SPEAKER_00]: We're not talking about forgiven.

[SPEAKER_00]: We're talking about forgetting people say, forgive and forget that the way we admit, it doesn't say, don't remember.

[SPEAKER_00]: You learn from remembering.

[SPEAKER_00]: It just means a whole garage.

[SPEAKER_00]: Remember when you hit a, you guys ever hit a poho or speed bump or something and you're like, because every time you do it, you can almost hear the money leaving from your wallet.

[SPEAKER_00]: Do you go back down at road, go to the same speed limit?

[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, go on that same speed?

[SPEAKER_00]: No, no, no, you remember, because you're like, oh, wait, wait, wait, there's a pop hole here.

[SPEAKER_00]: And then when they finally fix that pop hole, you, oh, thank goodness, thank goodness, thank the Lord.

[SPEAKER_00]: Why?

[SPEAKER_00]: Because you no longer have to get all 10s when you hit that pop hole.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, yes, you learn from it.

[SPEAKER_00]: The next thing for us, thankful through the good times.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now, that doesn't seem so hard.

[SPEAKER_00]: Being thankful through the good times.

[SPEAKER_00]: But you see, we're thankful through the good times.

[SPEAKER_00]: Everything seems we don't so smooth as sometimes.

[SPEAKER_00]: What happens when the people get so thankful through the good times, they almost forget.

[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, now that I've got my tooth pulled out what's I still need to do now that I got my tooth pulled out I can eat all the sweets.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not worried about brushing anymore because I got nothing but good teeth folks You do that in bad teeth come back and you do that in bad times come back being you knew that again And now you're in trouble again What on earth why do people do that will they do?

[SPEAKER_00]: all times bad times that we go through lead to the good times.

[SPEAKER_00]: Amen.

[SPEAKER_00]: The bad times are going to help us to get to the good times because of the hard work.

[SPEAKER_00]: One thing that I absolutely hate is rain.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm not talking about a little bit of rain, and I'm talking about the rain we had the other day.

[SPEAKER_00]: Blessings come in the good times, constantly remembering God's love is in the good times, we need to remember it through the bad times too.

[SPEAKER_00]: What does it say in Psalm 75 verse 1?

Psalms 75:1

[SPEAKER_00]: We give thanks to you, O God, we give thanks, and your name is near.

[SPEAKER_00]: Your wondrous works declare it.

[SPEAKER_00]: Psalm 95, verse 2 and 3, let us come, I'll say again, Psalm 95, verse 2 and 3.

Psalms 95:2 Psalms 95:2

[SPEAKER_00]: Let us come before His presence with Thanksgiving.

[SPEAKER_00]: Let us make a joyful noise under Him with Psalms, as Psalms.

[SPEAKER_00]: For the Lord is a great God and a great King above all God, as a slow case to you, above all the things of the earth.

[SPEAKER_00]: Some are not grateful during the good times, as I said, while I go, sometimes it takes bad times to make us appreciate it, it just does.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I just hope we don't forget that.

[SPEAKER_00]: Next time we start both of the good times or bad times, always make sure we're grateful to God, no matter what.

[SPEAKER_00]: It says this in Romans 1,21, because although they knew God, now once you can remember this,

[SPEAKER_00]: because although they knew God, they did not glorify Him or give thanks to Him as God, but became futile in their imaginations and their foolish hearts were darkened.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, what does that mean?

[SPEAKER_00]: Well,

[SPEAKER_00]: It goes on to say shortly after that, when Paul was talking to the Romans, he said, they forgot about God and they started living simply.

[SPEAKER_00]: It comes after this.

[SPEAKER_00]: It starts talking about people who are living in adultery, you're living in false guys, they were living homosexual lives and all these other things, all because it weren't great for the God or following God.

[SPEAKER_00]: It happens.

[SPEAKER_00]: So after I see what Christians all the time, God doesn't mind that I'm doing this and that yes he does.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes he does.

[SPEAKER_00]: He does because he loves you and he doesn't want you to get

[SPEAKER_00]: He does it once you did get off the track, off the beaten path.

[SPEAKER_00]: Second Corinthians 9-11.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to read you now, second Corinthians 9-11 and 9-15.

[SPEAKER_00]: They go together.

[SPEAKER_00]: Let's sort of says here.

[SPEAKER_00]: In second Corinthians, chapter 9 verse 11 says, so you will be enriched in everything to all bountifulness, which makes us give thanks to God.

2 Corinthians 9:11

[SPEAKER_00]: During the good times,

[SPEAKER_00]: we get bounty.

[SPEAKER_00]: That means blessings and things.

[SPEAKER_00]: And it's very boundfulness, which makes us give things to God.

[SPEAKER_00]: When blessings come, we're very thankful to God.

[SPEAKER_00]: But we should remember this, who God, how many times do people say, look what I did?

[SPEAKER_00]: Folks, I've seen people do it.

[SPEAKER_00]: Even Christians do it.

[SPEAKER_00]: All the time, look what I did.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm the hard worker.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but you would have the ability to work.

[SPEAKER_00]: If it weren't for God, you would have the ability, if it weren't for the Lord.

[SPEAKER_00]: Second Corinthians, nine fifties.

[SPEAKER_00]: Second Corinthians, nine fifties says to us, thanks be to God for His indescribable gift.

[SPEAKER_00]: This is the gift.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'll talk about more of this.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's Christmas comes, but this indescribable gift.

[SPEAKER_00]: You talk about everlasting life.

[SPEAKER_00]: He turned on life.

[SPEAKER_00]: This is the thing we should be thankful for every single day, every single moment of the day, and the moment we start to forget about it and stop being grateful for it.

[SPEAKER_00]: we best start resettling our mind and get back on the thing that has us feeling so grateful in the first place.

[SPEAKER_00]: And one last one, Hebrews 12, 28 through 29.

[SPEAKER_00]: Therefore, since we receive a kingdom, which cannot be shaken, let's show gratitude by which we may offer the God an acceptable service

[SPEAKER_00]: Now, one last list, one last list, we would be thankful to God at all times for their good, bad, new or old people you know or people you don't, we should be thankful to God.

[SPEAKER_00]: You might notice that I shaved my head this week, well, it's kind of hard to notice because I keep my hair kind of low and I'm kind of balding anyway.

[SPEAKER_00]: But there was a reason I did that.

[SPEAKER_00]: I did that because I saw a video of a woman who was a Christian, and he was a Christian, but she shared how she had all these scars all over her arm, and a person asked about the scars, and she shared how she had been attacked by someone and a God-brother out of it.

[SPEAKER_00]: She's alive, I think of the Lord, and she's not ashamed of her scars anymore.

[SPEAKER_00]: She was at one time, but she was embarrassed about it because all the scars and

[SPEAKER_00]: I'll be truth with you.

[SPEAKER_00]: I've been embarrassed with my scars since I was 14 years old.

[SPEAKER_00]: I was embarrassed by the scar we're here.

[SPEAKER_00]: That was the 14 year old in 22.

[SPEAKER_00]: I had it again.

[SPEAKER_00]: It rained too much again.

[SPEAKER_00]: And then when I was 39, I had a different brain tumor over here and they had had this goofy looking scar.

[SPEAKER_00]: And it was flat and everything.

[SPEAKER_00]: And then they had to go back and do it again.

[SPEAKER_00]: Then again, all the one year in 2019 and with that last one they had this big bulge But also they added another scar in between all that to add this little wire that goes in here and goes into my neck and they added a scar on my chest And I was embarrassed by all this Because to be honest, I always had a very insecure little self esteem about my looks Gap, my teeth and all this and things have been weight all this stuff.

[SPEAKER_00]: Some was messed some of one

[SPEAKER_00]: But the fact is, is I try to hide it, and then I start losing my hair, and then I got even worse the scars.

[SPEAKER_00]: So I decided I'm not going to be afraid anymore.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm bearish eating more of the scars.

[SPEAKER_00]: Because the scars are the scars.

[SPEAKER_00]: Why would I say that before?

[SPEAKER_00]: But now, I'm not saying I'm always going to be bald.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not going to go around like Lake Sluther.

[SPEAKER_00]: But I am going to tell you this.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not afraid of these scars.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm thankful for them.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm grateful for them.

[SPEAKER_00]: Because this means that God saved me.

[SPEAKER_00]: And they've been used to be a witness.

[SPEAKER_00]: This is a witness of how God brings us for the good times and the bad times.

[SPEAKER_00]: You bring us to the bad times to get to good times.

[SPEAKER_00]: And some people are going through something very difficult right now.

[SPEAKER_00]: They may very well look at your scars.

[SPEAKER_00]: Whatever they might be, they might be physical scars.

[SPEAKER_00]: They might be mental scars, emotional scars, spiritual scars, but God wants your scars be seen.

[SPEAKER_00]: He doesn't want you hiding them from everyone else.

[SPEAKER_00]: That doesn't mean you go around and you start saying,

[SPEAKER_00]: I send a ha ha, no, no, no, no, we're not talking about that.

[SPEAKER_00]: We're talking about how God can bring out of the difficult times.

[SPEAKER_00]: Bring these through the good, so you can be thankful through all times, through all times.

[SPEAKER_00]: Even when you don't understand why you go through these things, be thankful and grateful and that's hard to do, but know that God is with you.

[SPEAKER_00]: You might even ask questions like, what is God doing?

[SPEAKER_00]: Where is God leading?

[SPEAKER_00]: Or why is God having you following that direction?

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't understand, no, you don't, but God does.

[SPEAKER_00]: But God does.

[SPEAKER_00]: So we're gonna do it.

[SPEAKER_00]: If not me, you can know the answers.

[SPEAKER_00]: Just knowing that he does, though the answers, don't we need to be grateful for him through this?

[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm gonna give you a verse.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now we read part of a while ago.

[SPEAKER_00]: We read more of it while ago, but I'm just gonna give it to you.

[SPEAKER_00]: One verse right here, and that's first test alone in his five, eight, eight.

[SPEAKER_00]: Earlier, we read 16, 17 and 18.

[SPEAKER_00]: We're just going to read 518 right here.

[SPEAKER_00]: First, that's only in 518 says, in everything, give thanks.

[SPEAKER_00]: For this is the will of God in Christ, Jesus concerning you.

[SPEAKER_00]: Pastor, that's not as easy as it sounds.

[SPEAKER_00]: Am I supposed to be thankful that I have the flu?

[SPEAKER_00]: No, but as I said before, you should be thankful that God is with you and with you when you're having the flu.

[SPEAKER_00]: Helping you, and that's not worse.

[SPEAKER_00]: How about Ephesians chapter 5 verse 20?

Ephesians 5:20

[SPEAKER_00]: Ephesians chapter 5 verse 20 says, give thanks always, always, give thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, that's a big, that's a big request.

[SPEAKER_00]: I know.

[SPEAKER_00]: I know.

[SPEAKER_00]: When you're in pain, I'm not just

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm talking mentally and emotionally.

[SPEAKER_00]: I know I always say mentally.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I'm saying that because sometimes the way we think, we think of certain way because the way we feel, emotionally, I'll have your feelings.

[SPEAKER_00]: But even spiritually, when you're feeling down, sometimes we start thinking poorly on ourselves and everything around us.

[SPEAKER_00]: Folks, if you're listening to something, maybe when you're watching the news and you get tired of seeing the way people are talking and makes you hurt you to turn it off,

[SPEAKER_00]: Who are the good news of Jesus?

[SPEAKER_00]: If you, in that, look, I'm not telling you not to love them.

[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe there's people on the news who drive you nuts.

[SPEAKER_00]: If you see an end drive, you're crazy.

[SPEAKER_00]: Hey, who joined the crowd?

[SPEAKER_00]: Turn it off.

[SPEAKER_00]: Go to another channel.

[SPEAKER_00]: If you don't want to watch the MSNBC, who can blame you?

[SPEAKER_00]: But go somewhere else.

[SPEAKER_00]: So maybe the people, even on Fox are driving you nuts, and I do me too.

[SPEAKER_00]: Turn them off, those somewhere else, but if all that news is driving you crazy, I have a good, good, good rate advice for you to turn all of it off and go to the good news that Jesus Christ, to pick you up, when that's bringing you down in it will, but this lift you up because God is not the author of confusion, but boy, they all are, many of them want to lie, they'll take you down, they'll tell you half truths, but not little or God, he is the truth.

[SPEAKER_00]: goes to the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

[SPEAKER_00]: First Chronicle 168, give thanks to Al-Sahedic and first Chronicle 168, that's Old Testament.

[SPEAKER_00]: Give thanks to the Lord, call on his name, make known his deeds among the people's don't be ashamed, spread the good news.

[SPEAKER_00]: Don't be ashamed, make his news, make his name, claim his name amongst the people.

[SPEAKER_00]: Don't be embarrassed.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I was mocked, it made fun of my school, but I was mocked, made fun of anyway.

[SPEAKER_00]: because all my good looks.

[SPEAKER_00]: So you have to go around and tell people about the Lord Jesus, you're going to get made fun of or something, make sure he's glorious in the Lord.

[SPEAKER_00]: Psalm 69, 30 says, I will praise the name of God with the song and I will magnify him with

[SPEAKER_00]: I had to put this through the Bible first, because the truth is, some 100 versus one through five, I didn't realize when I was writing it down, this is the entire chapter, but it's some 100.

[SPEAKER_00]: And there's five verses in it, and I really love this.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's called the sum of Thanksgiving.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's beautiful.

[SPEAKER_00]: So some 100 says this,

[SPEAKER_00]: Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all the earth.

[SPEAKER_00]: Serve the Lord with gladness.

[SPEAKER_00]: Come before His presence with singing.

[SPEAKER_00]: Know that the Lord, He is God.

[SPEAKER_00]: It is He who has made us and not we ourselves.

[SPEAKER_00]: We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.

[SPEAKER_00]: Enter into His gates with thanksgiving and into His courts with praise.

[SPEAKER_00]: and bless his name for the Lord.

[SPEAKER_00]: He is good, His mercy, and doers forever, and His faithfulness to all generations.

[SPEAKER_00]: In that beautiful, in that wonderful, it's magnificent.

[SPEAKER_00]: And then there's Psalm 105, first one.

[SPEAKER_00]: This kind of goes back to that thing.

[SPEAKER_00]: Psalm 105 verse 1 says, Oh, I like this one.

Psalms 105:1

[SPEAKER_00]: It says, Oh, give thanks unto the Lord.

[SPEAKER_00]: all upon his name make known his deeds among the people once again don't be afraid to tell everybody what he's done how is anyone going to know about what he's done unless you tell them it's like whenever you've gotten a good deal at a store or something you know you've got a good you say oh I'm going to tell people that they can save money it's so and so and so and so

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think that they should do this, but it wouldn't be interesting if that was an even an actual store, so it's own, so it's own, so, but you could tell the people the news about this, how they could say 50% on a turkey right now or whatever, that would be a good deal.

[SPEAKER_00]: But folks, why tell them about the turkey when you can tell them about the lamb, tell them about the lamb of God, tell them about the only way in heaven, spread the good news.

[SPEAKER_00]: Second Corinthians, 2014.

[SPEAKER_00]: Second Corinthians, 2014 says, now thanks be to God who always causes us to triumph in Christ and through us reveals the fragrance of His knowledge in every place.

[SPEAKER_00]: Romans 1-8, you might think I'm going through every Thanksgiving verse, I'm not.

[SPEAKER_00]: There's quite a few other that didn't fit down.

[SPEAKER_00]: There was a lot.

[SPEAKER_00]: There was a lot.

[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't go through every single one of them put them on my computer, though, last night.

[SPEAKER_00]: There's a lot.

[SPEAKER_00]: Because I accidentally erased everything I had on my computer earlier this year.

[SPEAKER_00]: All of my things, giving most of my Christmas and most of my Easter, oh, that was annoying.

[SPEAKER_00]: Very annoying.

[SPEAKER_00]: But that's okay.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm grateful that I have the ability to get them back again.

[SPEAKER_00]: And it won't wear another.

[SPEAKER_00]: Romans chapter 1 verse 8, first I think my God through Jesus Christ, for you all, that what does it mean?

Romans 1:8

[SPEAKER_00]: This is Paul speaking to the Romans, the Christians in Rome, what it means.

[SPEAKER_00]: So I'll say again, first I think my God through Jesus Christ, for you all, because your faith is spoken, is spoken of throughout the whole world, folks.

[SPEAKER_00]: When you are thankful and grateful to the Lord God and your spread in the good word, people are speaking about it.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now, they might speak negative about you, but they know that you love Jesus.

[SPEAKER_00]: They know you.

[SPEAKER_00]: You are known.

[SPEAKER_00]: Colossians 1, 9 through 12.

[SPEAKER_00]: Colossians 1, 9 through 12.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now, I could go on with that, but I won't, I'll just read the chapter 1, 9 through 12.

[SPEAKER_00]: For this reason, we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will and always them in spiritual understanding that you may

[SPEAKER_00]: So that you may walk in a manner where they have God, pleasing to all, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God, strengthen with all mic recording to His glorious power in during every perseverance and patient, excuse me, and patience, joyfully, giving thanks to the Lord who has enabled us to be partakers in the inheritance of the saints in light.

[SPEAKER_00]: We're to go ahead and be thankful and grateful at all of the people who are to know about it.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's how supposed to be.

[SPEAKER_00]: And one last one, Hologians 317, and whatever you do, let's say this now, and whatever you do, in order to do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

[SPEAKER_00]: Have you ever heard a person who's working out of place

[SPEAKER_00]: or who represents a place, and they're gripping about it.

[SPEAKER_00]: I've had about a person who's advertising for a place.

[SPEAKER_00]: You know, years ago, there were different people.

[SPEAKER_00]: I won't go through all the answers a whole bunch.

[SPEAKER_00]: It would be people who'd be the spokesman for different places.

[SPEAKER_00]: And when they'd be the spokesman, they would get up there and say, try, general pudding pops, or try, craft, or whatever, in any Griffiths was one.

[SPEAKER_00]: He was the spokesman for craft cheese.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I remember he would get there, he's talking about how craft is the greatest cheese.

[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, great.

[SPEAKER_00]: Can you imagine him get him there and say, I can't stand this, Jesus horrible, folks, you don't do that when you get a spokesman.

[SPEAKER_00]: You are the spokesman for Christ.

[SPEAKER_00]: You are the spokesman.

[SPEAKER_00]: the spokesman for Christianity.

[SPEAKER_00]: You're the spokesman for the Lord.

[SPEAKER_00]: You're to be grateful.

[SPEAKER_00]: Don't be out there, San.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, God hasn't done anything for me later.

[SPEAKER_00]: What has God done for him?

[SPEAKER_00]: What has he done for me lately?

[SPEAKER_00]: No.

[SPEAKER_00]: You're to be grateful to be thankful to speak good news to the people, to be grateful always.

[SPEAKER_00]: Even when you don't understand, speak to good news.

[SPEAKER_00]: So

[SPEAKER_00]: or for what you fear is happening or going to happen, for God is a provider always.

[SPEAKER_00]: Even when you can't see what he's providing for you at this moment, be grateful, be thankful, always.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I will close with 1 Corinthians 15, 57.

[SPEAKER_00]: The thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

[SPEAKER_00]: but it's bound per.

[SPEAKER_00]: Dear Lord, dear Heavenly Father, dear Lord Jesus.

[SPEAKER_00]: We're so very, very grateful and thankful and appreciative for all that you given to us.

[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you for allowing us to learn for the Christians who came here.

[SPEAKER_00]: Way back in the day,

[SPEAKER_00]: And Lord Jesus Christ, we thank you that we can learn from them to be grateful to you, Lord God.

[SPEAKER_00]: Who came here to spread your word, Lord Jesus Christ.

[SPEAKER_00]: We pray that we too can be grateful.

[SPEAKER_00]: No matter what we are going through, but I know right now there are people who are suffering through death, their people who are suffering, or death in their family, who are suffering from illness, through great loss, from heartbreak, from heart ache.

[SPEAKER_00]: suffering from hardships with the financial reasonings.

[SPEAKER_00]: Some people are suffering from loss of jobs, financial difficulties, and just the fear of not knowing what's gonna happen.

[SPEAKER_00]: I pray right now, Lord God, you will help them to be grateful despite the fact that they're hurting and confused.

[SPEAKER_00]: I pray, Lord God, you will give them knowledge.

[SPEAKER_00]: I pray, Lord God, you will give them peace.

[SPEAKER_00]: I pray, Lord God, that you will give them joy.

[SPEAKER_00]: I pray to Lord God that you will help us in this moment.

[SPEAKER_00]: The Eudor God will be there.

[SPEAKER_00]: They're a guard in their shield or Jesus Christ.

[SPEAKER_00]: Give us all a sense of Thanksgiving.

[SPEAKER_00]: Not just to you, but to everyone around us, even when they're not being so grateful to us.

[SPEAKER_00]: I pray this in your holy precious name, and I pray for protection throughout this week, and always in Jesus name.
