[SPEAKER_01]: It's a new year.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's a new year.

[SPEAKER_01]: And every year, I'd say there's almost every year, every year, people make new resolutions, new resolutions, with new feeling, there's new feelings.

[SPEAKER_01]: The new beginning, a reboot.

[SPEAKER_01]: We talked about re last year, all sorts of rees, and rees of suffix.

[SPEAKER_01]: in a resolution to resolve things.

[SPEAKER_01]: And there's a reboot, a new fresh start.

[SPEAKER_01]: There's a new feeling that comes and goes real quick.

[SPEAKER_01]: Now, we mentioned earlier that January seems, of all the months, January seems to be the longest lasting because of the winter feeling.

[SPEAKER_01]: And February only goes faster in a sense

[SPEAKER_01]: of all the other months, but it is a new feeling and everything has a new feeling and really the only thing that's new about, we'll get to that in a minute, there's a lot of promises made right away with the resolutions.

[SPEAKER_01]: A lot of the promises are made and broken so very fast.

[SPEAKER_01]: People say, I'm never going to do this again and then boom, some people promise they're never going to get drunk again and before the new year has even begun, they start all drunk.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not laughing at a bit of people having alcohol problems.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm laughing at the fact that we all do this.

[SPEAKER_01]: I make a promise, I'm never going to eat a sweet and get, hey, you know, it is still a holiday.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's New Year's Day.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to eat a piece of cake.

[SPEAKER_01]: Well, well, we do this, you know, and I'm never going to do that because it happens, man.

[SPEAKER_01]: These things happen.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's the same old Jew with the brand new calendar.

[SPEAKER_01]: A new, it's a new calendar with a new number on it.

[SPEAKER_01]: uh... basically what is newness newness true newness that is trueness newness is more than a new calendar year it's more than new calendar year because it's the same life

[SPEAKER_01]: It's the same life, it's the same time frame, everything's the same.

[SPEAKER_01]: It just has a new calendar on it, one up on the calendar year, that's it.

[SPEAKER_01]: So let's look at this.

[SPEAKER_01]: After baptism, we feel new, but if it's not truly salvation, and take it for me.

[SPEAKER_01]: First time I was baptized, I didn't understand what salvation was.

[SPEAKER_01]: I wasn't really baptized, I wasn't gonna say, I was just a five year old boy.

[SPEAKER_01]: who saw his brothers get saved and be baptized.

[SPEAKER_01]: So I did the same thing.

[SPEAKER_01]: I wasn't going to save.

[SPEAKER_01]: I just took a glorified bath in this and it was my clothes on.

[SPEAKER_01]: I want to make that perfectly clear.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and I went down, came back up again.

[SPEAKER_01]: Everybody else had sure studied it.

[SPEAKER_01]: So you know, I did too.

[SPEAKER_01]: I thought I'd do good, but here's the thing.

[SPEAKER_01]: I won't save.

[SPEAKER_01]: And when I'm seven, I was.

[SPEAKER_01]: or other times it went down and up again, there's a lot of story that I've told you before, but let's just say this, baptism without the true dedication is nothing, the meaning of the heart is where it makes it newness.

[SPEAKER_01]: But this is what my father always said when he would do a baptism.

[SPEAKER_01]: He would say he would rise up and walk in the newness of life.

[SPEAKER_01]: And that is the title today's sermon, the newness of life, newness of life.

[SPEAKER_01]: Well, what is newness of life?

[SPEAKER_01]: Well, we're going to go through that today.

[SPEAKER_01]: The first one we're going to look at is the newness of life.

[SPEAKER_01]: What is baptism?

[SPEAKER_01]: It is a dedication to Christ.

[SPEAKER_01]: You know, a lot of people think when you're baptized, you're saved.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's not true.

[SPEAKER_01]: Now, I can understand why people get that confused.

[SPEAKER_01]: Part of it is because of Mark 1616 and the scripture of Mark 1616 it says he who believes and is baptized will be saved.

[SPEAKER_01]: Now, if that's what the scripture said.

[SPEAKER_01]: It said that alone.

[SPEAKER_01]: You would say, okay, your baptized in the safe.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's not all it says, what's going to get to here in a moment, we're going to go back to this chapter.

[SPEAKER_01]: Pastor Reed, now I can't handle the way we're going to go back to don't worry.

[SPEAKER_01]: First though, we're going to go to Matthew, Matthew chapter 3 11 through 17.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just going to tell you how your pastor does sometimes.

[SPEAKER_01]: I miss Representative.

[SPEAKER_01]: First, I said, I accidentally

[SPEAKER_01]: I accidentally put the book or John because I was talking about John the Baptist.

[SPEAKER_01]: What's it is at this moment?

[SPEAKER_01]: But I was incorrect.

[SPEAKER_01]: There's a book of Matthew here.

[SPEAKER_01]: We'll get to John's three here a little bit.

[SPEAKER_01]: But Matthew chapter three, we are hearing about John the Baptist.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's in the wilderness of Judea and he's preaching.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's preaching to the people.

[SPEAKER_01]: And the Pharisees come and all these things.

[SPEAKER_01]: And the Pharisees try to interrupt him.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's coming.

[SPEAKER_01]: It talks about how he was wearing camel clothing.

[SPEAKER_01]: Can you imagine wearing camel clothing?

[SPEAKER_01]: All of you who were back in the 70s and 80s and all that, you remember people used to have Pamela cigarettes and they'd some of it be rolled up into the sleep.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's not what he was wearing.

[SPEAKER_01]: He was wearing literal, camel hair.

[SPEAKER_01]: You remember, you know, my goodness, he was a lot like Elijah.

[SPEAKER_01]: A lot, a lot like like somebody believed that he was reincarnated Elijah.

[SPEAKER_01]: They said that the Bible.

[SPEAKER_01]: He was reincarnated, no, no, but he had a spirit of him.

[SPEAKER_01]: I don't mean he was taking over by him.

[SPEAKER_01]: He had a spirit like Elijah.

[SPEAKER_01]: That being said, let's now look.

[SPEAKER_01]: and see what happened with John the Baptist and Matthew chapter three, we're going to start verse 11.

[SPEAKER_01]: He was speaking to all the people and in this part, he's speaking mostly to the Pharisees because he calls them a generation of fibers.

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh boy, he says that that basically, though they were following Abraham and all those people, they weren't doing the true work of God.

[SPEAKER_01]: He goes on to say this in verse 11.

[SPEAKER_01]: He says to them.

[SPEAKER_01]: He says, I indeed baptize you.

[SPEAKER_01]: Talk about all the people.

[SPEAKER_01]: He says, I indeed baptize you with water, to repentance, but he who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to carry.

[SPEAKER_01]: He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.

[SPEAKER_01]: his fan is in his hand and he will thoroughly clean his floor and gather his wheat into the granary.

[SPEAKER_01]: But he will burn up the shaft with unquenchable fire.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's talking about getting rid of those

[SPEAKER_01]: things are unholy getting rid of all of it and cleaning us thoroughly.

[SPEAKER_01]: Listen when he says here, this is what he says now, he says a verse start King.

[SPEAKER_01]: Then Jesus came from Galilee to John at the Jordan.

[SPEAKER_01]: And that's where he'd baptize the people of the Jordan.

[SPEAKER_01]: I have bits, little bits in these bottles.

[SPEAKER_01]: I got 25 years ago to talk about a couple of weeks that I always drop just a couple of drops in the baptism back here in the Baptist street.

[SPEAKER_01]: where people get baptized a couple weeks back.

[SPEAKER_01]: I did that not because it's magical, but like some kind of mystical thing, it just does it because it makes a person feel good to realize that part of the water that goes into that is from the same river that Jesus baptized in.

[SPEAKER_01]: It does make them feel good.

[SPEAKER_01]: They love that because they get to realize that they

[SPEAKER_01]: I don't mean that actual water but from that same bank.

[SPEAKER_01]: Here's the thing when you do remember.

[SPEAKER_01]: Even though physically that's cool, you're not being cleaned physically.

[SPEAKER_01]: Even though you get in the water, it's not that you're being cleaned spiritually inside out.

[SPEAKER_01]: It is a symbol that you've already been cleaning inside out by faith, by faith, by faith, by faith.

[SPEAKER_01]: Now, it says this, says Jesus came from Galilee to join, to, excuse me, to John at the Jordan to be baptized by him.

[SPEAKER_01]: But John,

[SPEAKER_01]: prohibited him saying, he stopped him and said, I need to be baptized by you, and do you come to me for 15, but Jesus answered him, let it be so now for it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness, then he permitted him, John permitted Jesus to come in and with verse 16 of Matthew chapter 3.

[SPEAKER_01]: And when Jesus was baptized, he came up immediately out of the water.

[SPEAKER_01]: Listen to this, and suddenly the heavens were open to Him, and he saw the Spirit of God, and that's the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of God, descending on Him like a dove, and listening to this.

[SPEAKER_01]: And the voice came from heaven saying,

[SPEAKER_01]: This is my beloved son in whom I am well pleased.

[SPEAKER_01]: This is when the Trinity was all together at one time in one place.

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, praise the Lord.

[SPEAKER_01]: This happened.

[SPEAKER_01]: This happened.

[SPEAKER_01]: Now, as I said, rise up and walk in the newness of life.

[SPEAKER_01]: This baptism is a dedication of Christ to Christ.

[SPEAKER_01]: We need to be baptized to have a newness of life.

[SPEAKER_01]: As my father always said, many other pastors do.

[SPEAKER_01]: Mark 16, 16.

[SPEAKER_01]: Remember we read the first part while I go Mark 16 16 he who believes and his baptized will be saved It's not the baptism of saves because what does it say in the rest of the verse it says, but he who does not believe will be condemned All right

[SPEAKER_01]: So it's not the baptism that saves, but he who does not believe will be condemned.

[SPEAKER_01]: So it's the belief, it's believing.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's putting your faith, it's putting your faith in the grace of Jesus.

[SPEAKER_01]: It saves us.

[SPEAKER_01]: Galatians chapter three verse 27.

[SPEAKER_01]: Good people were talking about the newness of life, right?

[SPEAKER_01]: Let's send it to this.

[SPEAKER_01]: Galatians chapter three verse 27.

[SPEAKER_01]: For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ, have put on Christ.

[SPEAKER_01]: So we have the newness of life.

[SPEAKER_01]: We have been dedicated to Christ.

[SPEAKER_01]: We've got the newness of life.

[SPEAKER_01]: When you're baptized, you're showing a presentation of the newness of life.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's what you're doing.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's what you're doing.

[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to see hands.

[SPEAKER_01]: I imagine all of you.

[SPEAKER_01]: When you do the result I don't want to see hands, I don't want to see three people raise their hand, everybody else.

[SPEAKER_01]: No, here's the truth.

[SPEAKER_01]: When you do, and you're first out of that shower, or the bathroom, which everyone you take, don't you have a fresh feeling?

[SPEAKER_01]: the fresh feeling that, well, I used to hate this old commercial when I was a kid.

[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't get that, not so fresh yet.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not going to get into that.

[SPEAKER_01]: What that was really about that was really horrible and really inappropriate.

[SPEAKER_01]: But that being said, you get this fresh, wonderful feeling.

[SPEAKER_01]: I always take my shower when it comes to church on Saturday night.

[SPEAKER_01]: The reason being, because when I'm super hot,

[SPEAKER_01]: And I don't have to, I have to super the fan on and all this you see here.

[SPEAKER_01]: The reason why, if I take it in the morning, I stay sweaty all morning.

[SPEAKER_01]: I hate that.

[SPEAKER_01]: So the thing is, when you get that fresh feeling and you're feeling clean and all that, you feel good.

[SPEAKER_01]: That new feeling does it come from getting into the water or talking about baptism now.

[SPEAKER_01]: It comes from the dedication of the Christ.

[SPEAKER_01]: Because the newness of getting in water and all that, it goes away very quickly, dirt gets on you, it happens right away.

[SPEAKER_01]: If you go another day or two or three and you haven't taken a shower yet, don't you feel stinky and gross?

[SPEAKER_01]: I imagine so, the same is true spiritually.

[SPEAKER_01]: If you do not keep going back to the well again, to the river again, to the baptism again, you will feel gross disgusting and inappropriate, because we are in a fallen world.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not talking about losing salvation.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm talking about losing the cleanness, because you are a dirty disgusting human being.

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, do you hear what the past is called me?

[SPEAKER_01]: He called me a dirty disgusting human being.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm never going back there again.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not talking about you personally.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm talking about that every single one of us.

[SPEAKER_01]: the glory of God, we are all human, therefore, you're no better than me and you're no worse than me, either.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm gonna say to God, you're no worse than your pastor.

[SPEAKER_01]: I don't mean you haven't done anything better than me.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sure there's some areas of your way better than your pastor.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sure there's something in your life that you may be worse than me on.

[SPEAKER_01]: But here's the truth.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not going to heaven because of me.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to heaven because of the Savior, Jesus Christ,

[SPEAKER_01]: But I have a newness of life.

[SPEAKER_01]: Let's now look about the newness of life, a new life after death.

[SPEAKER_01]: We're not gonna look at the eternal life, just yet.

[SPEAKER_01]: We'll get to that.

[SPEAKER_01]: We're gonna look at something that happened in the Bible.

[SPEAKER_01]: Let's now turn to John, chapter 11.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to try to skip through some, if I can.

[SPEAKER_01]: The John chapter 11, 1, 345, something happened.

[SPEAKER_01]: We hear about a man by the name of Lazarus, and the Lazarus of Bethany.

[SPEAKER_01]: Now, maybe you know this, maybe you don't, but did you know that the name Lazarus was people using that name a lot because they use it for, I've seen in movies, I've seen it for scary movies, I've seen it for super heroes, I've seen it for some of these things because Lazarus they all think is of God who's eternal or whatever.

[SPEAKER_01]: They misuse it, they misunderstand it, but the actual meaning of the name Lazarus doesn't mean eternal.

[SPEAKER_01]: It doesn't mean superior or anything like that.

[SPEAKER_01]: The meaning, I'm talking about the true meaning, the Hebrew name means God has helped

[SPEAKER_01]: and probably more accurate, God is my helper.

[SPEAKER_01]: Praise the Lord for that.

[SPEAKER_01]: So let's now read, let's not read John chapter 11.

[SPEAKER_01]: It says now, a man was sick, Lazarus from Bethany, the village of Mary and her sister Martha.

[SPEAKER_01]: This was Mary who had known to the Lord with the ointment and wiped his feet with her hair.

[SPEAKER_01]: What a loving, wonderful thing.

[SPEAKER_01]: Whose brother Lazarus was sick.

[SPEAKER_01]: So the sisters, excuse me, the sisters, sent Word to him, saying, Lord, he whom you love is sick.

[SPEAKER_01]: I love these sisters, I love them.

[SPEAKER_01]: Says in verse 4, when Jesus heard this, he said, this sickness is not unto death.

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I love this.

[SPEAKER_01]: You probably think Jesus was either lying, but he cannot do.

[SPEAKER_01]: Or just incorrect and misunderstood it.

[SPEAKER_01]: Because this is what he says here.

[SPEAKER_01]: When Jesus heard this, he said, this verse 4, this sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God may be glorified by it.

[SPEAKER_01]: Now listen to that and this sort of says now Jesus love Martha and her sister I want you to remember that because a lot of times when people talk about Martha the act like she was not a good person or that she was just too much about this for that Yeah, he course he loved Mary, but he loved Martha he loved Martha he loved Martha if you feel like you're more of a Martha than a Mary We all can be that way every one of it, but guess what he loved Martha and Mary and Lazarus

[SPEAKER_01]: He goes on to say, so, verse six here.

[SPEAKER_01]: So when he heard that he was sick, here main where he was two more days.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's a long time.

[SPEAKER_01]: He said, and there are tough ones folks.

[SPEAKER_01]: Then after this, he said to the disciples, let us go into Judea again.

[SPEAKER_01]: His disciples said to him, Rabbi, the Jews were just trying to stone you.

[SPEAKER_01]: Are you going there again?

[SPEAKER_01]: Jesus answered, are there not 12 hours in the day?

[SPEAKER_01]: If anyone walks during the day, he does not stumble, because he sees the light of this world.

[SPEAKER_01]: But if anyone walks during the night, he stumbles because the light is not in him.

[SPEAKER_01]: After he said this, he said to them, our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep.

[SPEAKER_01]: But I am going that I may awaken him from sleep.

[SPEAKER_01]: Now listen to that.

[SPEAKER_01]: I love his statement here, sleep, sleep, sleep.

[SPEAKER_01]: This one is says them.

[SPEAKER_01]: This disciple said, Lord, if he is sleeping, he will be well that they didn't understand.

[SPEAKER_01]: And before we call them stupid, don't see this in the word sleep.

[SPEAKER_01]: They're not understanding spiritual.

[SPEAKER_01]: So if we don't understand sometimes too, let's what he says there.

[SPEAKER_01]: This verse 12, our now verse 13, Jesus had spoken of his death, but they thought that he was speaking of getting rest through sleep.

[SPEAKER_01]: Verse 14, so then Jesus plainly told them, doesn't sometimes have to be blunt as a spoon.

[SPEAKER_01]: Now, I don't know about the rest of y'all.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not the widest man in the world.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I had learning disability when I was in school.

[SPEAKER_01]: So sometimes when my father especially had to be plain as could be, my mom did do sometimes.

[SPEAKER_01]: She'd have to tell me things that 18 times I say had to, sometimes she still has to.

[SPEAKER_01]: But my father was sometimes speaking me in such a way that I can understand, because I didn't always comprehend it just how it was.

[SPEAKER_01]: I had to be spoken to.

[SPEAKER_01]: Well, sometimes people speak to children as if they're adults.

[SPEAKER_01]: Well, they're not.

[SPEAKER_01]: So we had to speak to them.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's why when you look at children's books,

[SPEAKER_01]: You know, Jane was a Jane and Dick and Jane sat here.

[SPEAKER_01]: You go, that's what it is.

[SPEAKER_01]: You know, you collect, okay, so here we go.

[SPEAKER_01]: So he said it plainly to them, didn't he?

[SPEAKER_01]: He said this.

[SPEAKER_01]: He, so then verse 14, so then Jesus plainly told them, Lazarus is dead.

[SPEAKER_01]: If you didn't know better, you would think he's contradicting himself.

[SPEAKER_01]: If you didn't know better, this is why so many people think the Bible contradicts itself.

[SPEAKER_01]: so many people don't understand the word because they don't know him or they don't know him well.

[SPEAKER_01]: Even if they're saved, they don't understand the word sometimes.

[SPEAKER_01]: They don't get it.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's not because they're stupid.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's because they just aren't in contact with enough for the haven't been explained enough.

[SPEAKER_01]: They're not educated enough and they're not being taught by the Holy Spirit.

[SPEAKER_01]: Before we get arrogant, think it's because I know more.

[SPEAKER_01]: No, you don't.

[SPEAKER_01]: The Holy Spirit

[SPEAKER_01]: Lazarus is dead, he said, and verse 15, and I am glad for your sex that I was not there, so that you may believe, nevertheless, let us go to him.

[SPEAKER_01]: Now listen to this, then Thomas, who is called did it, Mrs. Cousin said to his fellow disciples, let us go also that we may die with him.

[SPEAKER_01]: See, he thought he'd been literal again.

[SPEAKER_01]: When Jesus arrived, he found that he had been in the tomb for four days.

[SPEAKER_01]: four days already.

[SPEAKER_01]: Now Bethany was near Jerusalem, less than two miles away, many of the Jews had come to Martha and Mary to comfort them concerning their brother.

[SPEAKER_01]: And that's really nice.

[SPEAKER_01]: Verse 20, when Martha heard that Jesus was coming, she went and met him, but Mary remained in the house.

[SPEAKER_01]: Martha, I'm going to assume she was overcome with grief.

[SPEAKER_01]: Martha, verse 21, Martha said to Jesus, Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.

[SPEAKER_01]: But even now, I know that whatever you ask of God, whatever you may ask of God, God will give you.

[SPEAKER_01]: See, she had great faith, because she believed right there that he could bring him up.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's some great faith.

[SPEAKER_01]: I don't like that people insult Martha so often, and I say that because she's my sister in Christ, and I love her.

[SPEAKER_01]: And they always,

[SPEAKER_01]: focus on one or two things, seems a good person.

[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, it goes on to say this.

[SPEAKER_01]: Um, Jesus said to her, your brother will rise again.

[SPEAKER_01]: And Martha said to him, I like this Martha said to him, I know that he will rise again in the resurrection on the last day.

[SPEAKER_01]: Jesus said to her, I am the resurrection and the life.

[SPEAKER_01]: He who believes in me, though he may die yet shall he live.

[SPEAKER_01]: And whoever lives and believes in me shall never die.

[SPEAKER_01]: Do you believe in this?

[SPEAKER_01]: She said to him, yes, Lord, I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God, who is to come into the world.

[SPEAKER_01]: Then she had said this, excuse me.

[SPEAKER_01]: When she had said this, she went her way, a secretly called her sister, Mary, saying, the teacher has come and is calling for you when she heard this, she arose quickly and went to him.

[SPEAKER_01]: Now, Jesus had not yet entered the village, but was in the place where Martha met him.

[SPEAKER_01]: When the Jews who were with Mary, excuse me, were with Mary in the house, comforting her, saw that she quickly rose up and went out.

[SPEAKER_01]: They followed her saying,

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm assuming that they are sinned.

[SPEAKER_01]: When Mary came to where Jesus was and saw him, she fell down at his feet saying to him, Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.

[SPEAKER_01]: When Jesus saw her weeping and the Jews who came with her weeping because they loved her so much.

[SPEAKER_01]: He groaned in the spirit and was troubled.

[SPEAKER_01]: He said,

[SPEAKER_01]: Where have you laid him?

[SPEAKER_01]: They said to him, Lord, come and see.

[SPEAKER_01]: Here's a short verse in the Bible, verse 35 of John 11.

[SPEAKER_01]: Jesus wept.

[SPEAKER_01]: Then the Jews said, see how he loved him.

[SPEAKER_01]: But some of them said, could not this man who opened the eyes of the blind man

[SPEAKER_01]: Verse 38, then Jesus again, growing within himself came to the tomb, it was a cave, and a stone was lying against it.

[SPEAKER_01]: Jesus said, take away the stone, Martha and Martha the sister of him who was dead, said to him, Lord, by this time, there is a stench for he has been dead four days, and by the way, why did he wait four days?

[SPEAKER_01]: Why do he wait four days?

[SPEAKER_01]: Here's a reason.

[SPEAKER_01]: their dead three days they were automatically assumed not just assumed they knew for a fact they were dead before that when he had saved other people they said well they may not really been dead they may have been in a coma they may not call it coma I don't know what they call it but they had other things but they were dead for three days they were they knew for a fact without a shot of it out they were dead dead dead.

[SPEAKER_01]: Boy, that doesn't sound nice, but it's true.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so on the fourth day, they would be no doubts he was dead.

[SPEAKER_01]: So dead at his body, stuck the high heaven and everywhere else.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's stuck.

[SPEAKER_01]: He stinketh.

[SPEAKER_01]: He was stinchin' everywhere.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I say that to you, so that you can understand that there is no doubt what happened.

[SPEAKER_01]: You're all you know they made it.

[SPEAKER_01]: You saw he was just pretending to be dead.

[SPEAKER_01]: You know they did, but let's see what happened now.

[SPEAKER_01]: So, Jesus said to her, verse 40, did I not tell you that if you believe you would see the glory of God, so they took away the stone from the place where the dead man was lying.

[SPEAKER_01]: Jesus lifted up his eyes and said, Father, I thank you, I love this.

[SPEAKER_01]: Father, I thank you that you have heard me,

[SPEAKER_01]: Verse 42, I know that you always hear me, but because of the people standing around, I said this that they may believe that you sit me.

[SPEAKER_01]: Verse 43, when he had said this, he cried out with a loud voice, Lazarus, come out.

[SPEAKER_01]: He who was dead came out, his hands and feet rat with grave cloths, and his face rat with a cloth.

[SPEAKER_01]: Jesus said to him to them, unbind him and let him go.

[SPEAKER_01]: Folks, folks, folks.

[SPEAKER_01]: He was dead, dead as a coffin now, as it said in a certain Christmas book.

[SPEAKER_01]: There's a coffin now, and this was a symbol, a symbol, a symbol of the resurrection of Jesus that was to come, and we have a spiritual life, a new life, and this is a symbol of what we have to go through, what we have gone through, and so let's go to the next part of the newness of life, and that is every day.

[SPEAKER_01]: Every day we can have a newness of life and we should have a newness of life, because you have been saved.

[SPEAKER_01]: If you have called out the Christ with faith, you are saved right now.

[SPEAKER_01]: The old you is dead.

[SPEAKER_01]: And the new you is alive.

[SPEAKER_01]: I got to stand up because I'm getting all pumped up for the Holy Spirit.

[SPEAKER_01]: We have a new, new, new, new you, a new life.

[SPEAKER_01]: We don't need to be afraid anymore.

[SPEAKER_01]: We are alive.

[SPEAKER_01]: Now maybe right now you've been like that little kid, but Coca-Cola can play Kevin.

[SPEAKER_01]: You may ever on home alone.

[SPEAKER_01]: When you say, I'm not afraid, I'm not afraid.

[SPEAKER_01]: And you go outside, but I'm not afraid.

[SPEAKER_01]: And you go out to where the devil is.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not afraid anymore.

[SPEAKER_01]: Then the devil comes up and you go,

[SPEAKER_01]: You run away.

[SPEAKER_01]: We've all done that, but here's the thing.

[SPEAKER_01]: Remember that Jesus is in you, it is on about your strength.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's about God's strength.

[SPEAKER_01]: And every single day, we need to have a brand new you.

[SPEAKER_01]: A brand new us.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's not about the calendar.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's not because the whole number on the very end of the counter went up one.

[SPEAKER_01]: No, it's because Jesus Christ who's still in you and always will be in you is gonna be there to renew you every day.

[SPEAKER_01]: Who here believes in Jesus' powerful enough to save you and keep you safe every day?

[SPEAKER_01]: Amen.

[SPEAKER_01]: Who here believes that one sin is more powerful than all the others?

[SPEAKER_01]: I don't.

[SPEAKER_01]: I believe my Lord Jesus Christ got himself in the flesh is more powerful than any sin that a man or a woman has done.

[SPEAKER_01]: And by man, I mean mankind, by the way, not physical man.

[SPEAKER_01]: You are a new creation.

[SPEAKER_01]: a renewed, and you are renewed, remember last week we talked about reenude, day by day.

[SPEAKER_01]: So the first thing every day, when you wake up, wake up to be a new you.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's what I do, not because I'm better than anybody, but I had to learn through time, not to get up and do all these other things.

[SPEAKER_01]: And then, oh yeah, I forgot to pray.

[SPEAKER_01]: No, no, no.

[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe you've done that in your meals before.

[SPEAKER_01]: You've done that, you've got to pray.

[SPEAKER_01]: I understand that.

[SPEAKER_01]: Some people say, oh, it's just a custom.

[SPEAKER_01]: No, it's gratefulness to what God has given you.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's what it is.

[SPEAKER_01]: Make it a habit.

[SPEAKER_01]: I don't mean to have what you say.

[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you for the food, amen.

[SPEAKER_01]: I don't mean just to have you say, oh, thanks for another day, amen.

[SPEAKER_01]: I mean open up your heart, open up and spirits, and Lord, I woke up today.

[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you Lord Jesus Christ.

[SPEAKER_01]: You're with me, and even though, and I'm talking to myself here, I'm really praying.

[SPEAKER_01]: even though I have a headache Lord, you're with me and you're helping me to go on.

[SPEAKER_01]: Even though Lord God, I don't know what the day is going to give me.

[SPEAKER_01]: I know that you do, and I'm going to follow you Lord Jesus.

[SPEAKER_01]: Lord, help me to be dedicated to you to put you before

[SPEAKER_01]: I turn on the television to put you before I do this or do that before I do these things.

[SPEAKER_01]: We do those things and you'll be dedicated, your life will be a newness every single day.

[SPEAKER_01]: And it says in second Corinthians 517, second Corinthians 517, therefore if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature, a new creation.

[SPEAKER_01]: All things have passed away and look, all things have become new.

[SPEAKER_01]: A mother was talking earlier about going to the shops, thrift shops, garage sales, my dad used to go to.

[SPEAKER_01]: He used to pass by a garage sales saying, oh, garage sale, and he would stop running around, go take a look at his son as he said, what would he do?

[SPEAKER_01]: But sometimes he says, sometimes you get good things, real good things, and he's all excited about it.

[SPEAKER_01]: Here's the thing.

[SPEAKER_01]: Some of the times it is jump, but we talk about their material things and there's not the wrong with that except sometimes people will give everything they got for something just because of material.

[SPEAKER_01]: I've heard people who have spent $400 or more $4,000 on a ring just because of the name of it or shoes and they're awesome really good shoes.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not going to say there's not, but when people

[SPEAKER_01]: Come on, some of those night shoes are ugly, but who am I to say?

[SPEAKER_01]: But that being said, folks, there's more than these things they will pass away, they will go away, they will all fall apart.

[SPEAKER_01]: But the glory of God will last forever and ever and ever and ever.

[SPEAKER_01]: Nothing will take away.

[SPEAKER_01]: Neither will you subation.

[SPEAKER_01]: Let's now turn to Romans, Romans chapter 6, Romans chapter 6, I love the book of Romans.

[SPEAKER_01]: Romans 6, verse 3, 3, 11, do you not know that we who were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into His death?

Romans 6:3

[SPEAKER_01]: Therefore we were buried with Him by baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised

[SPEAKER_01]: from the dead, by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in the newness of life.

[SPEAKER_01]: For if we have been united with him and the likeness of his death, so shall we also be united with him and the likeness of his resurrection, knowing this that our old man has been crucified with him so that the body of sin might be destroyed

[SPEAKER_01]: For the one who has died is freed from sin.

[SPEAKER_01]: Now, if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him.

[SPEAKER_01]: knowing that Christ being raised from the dead will never die again.

[SPEAKER_01]: Death has no further dominion over him.

[SPEAKER_01]: For the death he died, he died to sin once for all.

[SPEAKER_01]: But the life he lives, he lives to God.

[SPEAKER_01]: Likewise, you also consider yourselves to be dead to sin, but alive to God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

[SPEAKER_01]: Amen.

[SPEAKER_01]: Amen.

[SPEAKER_01]: Now we'll go back to some of that here in a moment, but just about everything we've talked about isn't that one passage right there.

[SPEAKER_01]: The newness of life, the newness of life, the newness of life is forever and ever and ever more.

[SPEAKER_01]: So the last part of the newness of life is newness of life.

[SPEAKER_01]: for ever more, ever lasting life.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's not just a newness of life, it's ever lasting life.

[SPEAKER_01]: That newness will not go away.

[SPEAKER_01]: When I was a little boy and even now, there was a cartoon I used to watch a Christmas time.

[SPEAKER_01]: That was animated by the great late Chuck Jones.

[SPEAKER_01]: One of my favorite animators of all time, you know of him, you just don't know you do.

[SPEAKER_01]: He may stuff like the grandch and other great cartoon a lot of those looney tunes.

[SPEAKER_01]: He made this cartoon about raggedy and an Andy.

[SPEAKER_01]: And there was a cartoon where this big bad wolf comes, and he puts all these things and puts all the toys and everything in gloom stick, and gloom stick keeps everything new, but you couldn't play with it, you couldn't touch it, you put the Christmas trees in gloom stick, well by the end of it, he gets put in a Christmas tree gloom stick thing, and anyway, I love it, I just love that cartoon, but what's so great about it is, you see that people want everything to be new and to stay new forever, but they don't.

[SPEAKER_01]: Everything falls apart,

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not talking about your relationship with Christ.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not talking about with how you feel because of what we do with our flesh.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm talking about your salvation.

[SPEAKER_01]: It stays new forever and it's not covered in gloop stick.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's not covered in things that keep you from touching it because when you don't touch your relationship with the Lord God, that's when it rocks.

[SPEAKER_01]: And by that I'm not talking about salvation, I'm talking about how fresh your relationship with Christ is.

[SPEAKER_01]: But when you keep it fresh with the Lord,

[SPEAKER_01]: It stays fresh with God because you go to it day by day.

[SPEAKER_01]: And you keep it going, but that life, that salvation is everlasting.

[SPEAKER_01]: But it stays fresh because you keep going back to it.

[SPEAKER_01]: And you keep drawing from it.

[SPEAKER_01]: And it's beautiful.

[SPEAKER_01]: But it's in what it says.

[SPEAKER_01]: First of all, it's in heaven and it's on earth.

[SPEAKER_01]: Remember that.

[SPEAKER_01]: You have that life and heaven and on earth.

[SPEAKER_01]: Let's want to say that the New Earth, because we will have a New Earth, that day will come.

[SPEAKER_01]: Let's not Romans 8 to 11 says.

[SPEAKER_01]: For almost eight of them it says, but if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead lives in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his spirit that lives in you.

[SPEAKER_01]: Remember that you'll have the Spirit, the Holy Spirit, you're going to be alive forever, ever, ever, never, you're never going away.

[SPEAKER_01]: You're never going to die.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not talking physically.

[SPEAKER_01]: You will physically, it's going to happen.

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, unless Christ comes first, I want to make that caveat.

[SPEAKER_01]: Unless Christ comes first, you will go to heaven.

[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, you won't physically die.

[SPEAKER_01]: But I'm not concerned about physical death.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, I don't want pain.

[SPEAKER_01]: I've been through my share.

[SPEAKER_01]: But I'm not worried about that because I know I'm going to live forever with Christ.

[SPEAKER_01]: First that Salonians 414, first that Salonians 414, or if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, so God will bring with him those who sleep in Jesus.

[SPEAKER_01]: Now, those who sleep with Jesus, what does it mean?

[SPEAKER_01]: When we put sleep, that war sleep means physically dead.

[SPEAKER_01]: I've had explained this many times.

[SPEAKER_01]: Physically dead, that's all I mean.

[SPEAKER_01]: They're asleep physically.

[SPEAKER_01]: But they're alive, they're still alive.

[SPEAKER_01]: Right now, I want you to think about the people who you miss.

[SPEAKER_01]: Brother Gary, we miss him.

[SPEAKER_01]: You've been gone a year.

[SPEAKER_01]: I love him.

[SPEAKER_01]: I miss him.

[SPEAKER_01]: My grandpa, boy I miss him.

[SPEAKER_01]: My grandma, they used to be right here, right there.

[SPEAKER_01]: I remember this sitting here, they're right there.

[SPEAKER_01]: Brother Ralph, sister Valle, I miss them.

[SPEAKER_01]: Bobby Sims.

[SPEAKER_01]: So many other people who live sitting right here, sister, Dianna Luthy, you used to play.

[SPEAKER_01]: I miss these people so much.

[SPEAKER_01]: The folks, they're alive.

[SPEAKER_01]: In a vision God showed me, I saw all those people.

[SPEAKER_01]: I saw Daniel and David and others.

[SPEAKER_01]: They're alive.

[SPEAKER_01]: They're just physically asleep.

[SPEAKER_01]: But they're alive and well and you will meet them.

[SPEAKER_01]: You will meet so many people.

[SPEAKER_01]: One day you're gonna meet George Washington.

[SPEAKER_01]: You're gonna meet him.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's a Christian born by the blood of Jesus.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm telling you right now, they're not dead.

[SPEAKER_01]: They're just physically asleep.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm telling you, the day is gonna come when you'll see him.

[SPEAKER_01]: They're just asleep.

[SPEAKER_01]: So just remember that.

[SPEAKER_01]: And this is a verse I'm sure you've heard, I know you have, John 3 16, John 3 16 through 18.

[SPEAKER_01]: I love it.

[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to hear one without the other.

[SPEAKER_01]: John 3 16 through 18.

[SPEAKER_01]: For God's so love the world that He gave us old leap, it got in son, that who's so ever believe at the name shall not perish, but have everlasting.

[SPEAKER_01]: everlasting life.

[SPEAKER_01]: For God did not send his son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through him might be saved.

[SPEAKER_01]: He who believes in him is not condemned, but he who does not believe is condemned already because he is not believed in the name of the only begotten son of God.

[SPEAKER_01]: Amen.

[SPEAKER_01]: One last one.

[SPEAKER_01]: This goes back to John again.

[SPEAKER_01]: John 640.

[SPEAKER_01]: I love this.

[SPEAKER_01]: John 640.

[SPEAKER_01]: This is the will of him who sent me.

[SPEAKER_01]: This Jesus speaking.

[SPEAKER_01]: This is the will of him who sent me.

[SPEAKER_01]: The everyone who sees the son and believes in him may have eternal life and I will raise him up on the last day.

[SPEAKER_01]: You will

[SPEAKER_01]: of your sins.

[SPEAKER_01]: You will have everlasting life.

[SPEAKER_01]: You have everlasting life.

[SPEAKER_01]: You will never, ever, ever, truly die.

[SPEAKER_01]: Your body will stop, but I got news for you.

[SPEAKER_01]: You will have a brand new body, a brand new body, and I got news for you now.

[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I gotta admit something to you right now.

[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, sure, not aware.

[SPEAKER_01]: I have weight issues.

[SPEAKER_01]: I have hair issues.

[SPEAKER_01]: I have things like that.

[SPEAKER_01]: When I'm in heaven and then on the new earth, I'm gonna look gorgeous.

[SPEAKER_01]: Now, I know it's hard to believe because you probably are think I do look gorgeous.

[SPEAKER_01]: I know that control yourself now, but here's the thing, here's the thing, when I get the brand new perfect body because it will be perfect.

[SPEAKER_01]: No more brand tumors.

[SPEAKER_01]: No more scars.

[SPEAKER_01]: No more gap in my teeth.

[SPEAKER_01]: No more scars on my head and bumps on my head

[SPEAKER_01]: If you right now have bad knees like I do, no more pain, no more sorrow, no more bad knees, no more false knees, no more missing toes if you had to have that removed or anything else.

[SPEAKER_01]: You're going to have a full, beautiful body.

[SPEAKER_01]: My ground ball had to lose half his foot, not anymore.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's going to, he's, he's complete.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's whole.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's perfectly made.

[SPEAKER_01]: He has a newness of life, the newness of the body, the newness.

[SPEAKER_01]: And when you see him, and I see him, it's all good.

[SPEAKER_01]: You'll be the same way.

[SPEAKER_01]: You'll be in perfect shape because that's how God wants you to be.

[SPEAKER_01]: This world is falling, but when it's a new earth, it's going to be perfect the way it's supposed to be in the first place.

[SPEAKER_01]: And you'll be perfect to not because of you, but because of Jesus.

[SPEAKER_01]: And remember that.

[SPEAKER_01]: Remember that, it's going to be perfect.

[SPEAKER_01]: Every single new day when you wake up, rise up.

[SPEAKER_00]: and wall in the newness of life, everlasting, beautiful, perfect, glorious, magnificent life in Jesus that we will never ever be taken away.

[SPEAKER_00]: That doesn't mean you won't make mistakes,

[SPEAKER_00]: is perfect.

[SPEAKER_01]: So every day when you wake up, put your heart on him, your mind on him, your body on him, wake up, rise up and walk in the newness of life.

[SPEAKER_00]: And everything will be just as it ought to be.

[SPEAKER_01]: The way should always have been and know how beautiful that you're not only your new day will be, but the new year and everything, no matter what occurs because

[SPEAKER_01]: Let's now close with Romans chapter six, verse four, once again.

[SPEAKER_01]: Romans six, four.

[SPEAKER_01]: Therefore, we were buried with him by baptism into death.

[SPEAKER_01]: That just as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in the newness of life.

[SPEAKER_01]: ear precious, Heavenly Father, Lord God of my Savior.

[SPEAKER_01]: I just praise your holy name right now for Jesus, I praise you.

[SPEAKER_01]: I thank you so much for your word.

[SPEAKER_01]: I thank you, Lord, for the faith that you've given us to you through your word.

[SPEAKER_01]: Lord, I thank you that you love us despite all the many faults that we have, the many times that we have fallen, you've helped us to get back up again.

[SPEAKER_01]: put your hand out there to pick us back up.

[SPEAKER_01]: Just like you did with Peter, Lord God, I pray that you will help us to continue to get back up again and to quit staying down in the mud of sin, but to walk fully following you.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I pray, Lord God, that we will have absolute faith walking in your will.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I pray Lord Jesus Christ, that every single day we will be showered in your blessings in your faith, and we will continue to be showered every day, being brands, spanking new everyday, realizing the Lord that we can walk in the newness of life each and every day, being rebaptized by faith every day, not in a physical sense, but in spiritual sense, every single day knowing that it's about devotion.

[SPEAKER_01]: knowing Lord God that it's about being faithful, knowing Lord God is about handing ourselves over to you to read new our mind, renew our body, renew our spirit, renew ourselves to you every day, every night, every single morning.

[SPEAKER_01]: I pray this Lord God that this year, this calendar year, Lord God will be the greatest year of our entire lives, not because of us, but because of our
