Hello Father - Moment of Truth Bible Baptist 6/21/26

[SPEAKER_00]: Let's all now turn to the book of Proverbs, chapter 20, verse 7, Proverbs comes up, Rax or Sham, two of the most popular books in the Bible.

Proverbs 20:7

[SPEAKER_00]: In fact, I often times tell people, especially those who are starting off.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm always telling them, if you want to be very relaxed, resolve the Proverbs.

[SPEAKER_00]: because it's very good.

[SPEAKER_00]: In fact, you can read Proverbs in one month.

[SPEAKER_00]: If you read one proverb of a day, which you're reading by Solomon most of them, you can read one proverb of a day, you can go through it in a month because you're about 30 of them.

[SPEAKER_00]: And you could do that.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now, I'm not suggesting that's the only thing you read in a month, but you could do that.

[SPEAKER_00]: You could read one proverb of a day, you can go through the whole ordeal.

[SPEAKER_00]: Every way, let's now turn a proverb.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's chapter 20 verse 7.

[SPEAKER_00]: Let's please stand on the reading of God's word.

[SPEAKER_00]: And it's not long.

[SPEAKER_00]: So it won't take this long.

[SPEAKER_00]: It says in Proverbs chapter 20 verse 7, the just man walks in his integrity, his children are blessed after him.

[SPEAKER_00]: Hello, mother.

[SPEAKER_00]: Hello, father.

[SPEAKER_00]: It was a song written by Alan Sherman in 1963.

[SPEAKER_00]: It was the melody of I'm going to try to pronounce it.

[SPEAKER_00]: I did pronounce it right six months ago or six days.

[SPEAKER_00]: Hello six weeks ago and probably not going to pronounce it right now.

[SPEAKER_00]: La Gio Conda by Alamacar, something a rather, and they made a play in a board game based off this song.

[SPEAKER_00]: And it's the high saying the first half of song that I wrote to that tune, I've had a lot of hell of a father, and I went ahead and wrote my own version of this song.

[SPEAKER_00]: Made into a Christian song.

[SPEAKER_00]: Hello, mother.

[SPEAKER_00]: Hello, father.

[SPEAKER_00]: You probably know the song.

[SPEAKER_00]: Hello, mother.

[SPEAKER_00]: Hello, father.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I wrote song to it.

[SPEAKER_00]: A mother's day.

[SPEAKER_00]: You all remember.

[SPEAKER_00]: Believe it or not, that was six weeks ago already.

[SPEAKER_00]: That went quick.

[SPEAKER_00]: I remember the night before I near the cut my thumb off.

[SPEAKER_00]: Very interesting.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's healing pretty good.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's still hurt, so.

[SPEAKER_00]: But either way,

[SPEAKER_00]: Now, I'm going to finish by singing the rest of that wonderful song that I sang to my mother.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to finish it all now.

[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't finish it all, and she's been asking me every day.

[SPEAKER_00]: What, how does it end?

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, she has it.

[SPEAKER_00]: You're the leader.

[SPEAKER_00]: In my raising, took the Bible and you'd mold me.

[SPEAKER_00]: Most importantly, you did just as you told me.

[SPEAKER_00]: There is father, darling mother.

[SPEAKER_00]: You both part of one another.

[SPEAKER_00]: You're a team with God the Father, all together you will raise your sons and daughters, all together you will raise your sons and daughters, boom, boom, and that's the end.

[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you all, my family from church, no kidding.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now I sing that to my mother and to my father and to all y'all, no one fathers in heaven and I love them.

[SPEAKER_00]: And you don't still feel he's like he's with me because he was a good father.

[SPEAKER_00]: And he is a good father because when you're a good father, you're not just with your children on the days that you hear on earth.

[SPEAKER_00]: You're with your children always, especially when God the Father is through them.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now, maybe your father is no Bible with you, physically speaking, or maybe he is.

[SPEAKER_00]: And if he is, enjoy every moment you can.

[SPEAKER_00]: Every moment you can.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now, I know your dad probably gets on your nerve sometimes, and he's supposed to.

[SPEAKER_00]: Sometimes, because he can be annoying and his onerness, and sometimes, because he's annoying when he does what to do when he's supposed to.

[SPEAKER_00]: And that's an always same with mama.

[SPEAKER_00]: Sometimes mama can be annoying.

[SPEAKER_00]: She's supposed to be too.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't mean sometimes she can be annoying because she just is who she is.

[SPEAKER_00]: By the way, you can be annoying too.

[SPEAKER_00]: Just, we're all that way.

[SPEAKER_00]: I had no way people sometimes because it's hard to look at the man's so I'm just kidding.

[SPEAKER_00]: I was going to be ordinary, but the truth is we can all be annoying.

[SPEAKER_00]: Every single one of us, you know why?

[SPEAKER_00]: Because none of us are on the same wavelength all the time.

[SPEAKER_00]: We're just not.

[SPEAKER_00]: But you know what, we love them anyway.

[SPEAKER_00]: And the truth is, mom and dad,

[SPEAKER_00]: our people, the God gives us is a blessing.

[SPEAKER_00]: Or to honor our Father and Mother.

[SPEAKER_00]: You know, people mix that up, they really do.

[SPEAKER_00]: They mix it up and they, I've even seen some people Catholics mostly who change it to where Mother's supposed to be first.

[SPEAKER_00]: No!

[SPEAKER_00]: No, not all Catholics do that.

[SPEAKER_00]: I just want to make it clear.

[SPEAKER_00]: But you're not supposed to put mom before it had.

[SPEAKER_00]: A desk supposed to lead everyone, including mama.

[SPEAKER_00]: And that means who they're being led by, Father God, first.

[SPEAKER_00]: I want to make it perfectly clear.

[SPEAKER_00]: But I'm going to put this just like I did six weeks ago, I'm going to put it into basically the song lyrics.

[SPEAKER_00]: Hello, Father.

[SPEAKER_00]: So, Father's, hello to you.

[SPEAKER_00]: I thank you so much for raising your children and your family and leading them as you're led by God, the Father.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's not an easy role, it's a hard role.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's a hard role because a lot of times you make mistakes, it's like everyone else.

[SPEAKER_00]: And sometimes we try to listen to ourselves instead of God.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now, six weeks ago, I went to first annual.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I listed a woman who was a good mama, a real good mama.

[SPEAKER_00]: And you all remember Hannah, she was a good mama, and I used her.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, today I'm gonna use a father, not her husband.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm gonna use another father who was not a good father.

[SPEAKER_00]: He was a good man, a real good man who loved God very much, but he wasn't a good father, I'm talking about Eli.

[SPEAKER_00]: Eli was the father of Hoffney and Phineas.

[SPEAKER_00]: That was their names, Hoffney and Phineas.

[SPEAKER_00]: We don't hear those names much, probably, because they're horrible human beings, but they were.

[SPEAKER_00]: They did not love God, and so therefore God allowed them to, well, go to the end system, and he allowed them to be killed.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, it's going to talk about that.

[SPEAKER_00]: Let's now turn to First Samuel chapter two, and we're going to do my best to go through these as quickly as a possible can, but yet read it to you, because I can't skip it.

[SPEAKER_00]: So let's read second Samuel.

[SPEAKER_00]: chapter two, 12 through 17, because right the middle of when we were talking about Elcanna, who was a Samuel's father, and we talked about Hannah, his mama, it does talk about in verse 12 through 17, it talks about Eli, says, now the sons of Eli were corrupt, they did not know the Lord.

[SPEAKER_00]: see that takes away right away with a lot of people say, Oh, they weren't bad.

[SPEAKER_00]: If they were bad, they didn't know God at all.

[SPEAKER_00]: It says verse 13, the priest custom with the people was that when any man offered a sacrifice to priest service came while the flesh was cooking with three pronged fork.

[SPEAKER_00]: and his hand, and he stuck it into the pan or kettle or colder in or pot, and all that the fork brought up in the priest took it for himself.

[SPEAKER_00]: This, they did in Shiloh and all the cinnamon Israel who came there.

[SPEAKER_00]: So they would, while the meat had been cooked yet, they would take what they, they did, they stuck it in there, it took it in the ate it.

[SPEAKER_00]: This was the custom, this is what they would do.

[SPEAKER_00]: But we will see that Shiloh, excuse me, I'm in spoke,

[SPEAKER_00]: They didn't respect his rules.

[SPEAKER_00]: They didn't respect his rules.

[SPEAKER_00]: They didn't respect his customers.

[SPEAKER_00]: They didn't respect God.

[SPEAKER_00]: And they didn't respect the people the followed God.

[SPEAKER_00]: As we're going to see, it goes the same for 15.

[SPEAKER_00]: Even before they burned the fat, the priest's servant will come and say in the priest we're talking about, uh, Hoffman in Phineas.

[SPEAKER_00]: The servant will come and say to the man's sacrifice and give me for the priest to roast.

[SPEAKER_00]: for he will not take boiled meat from you, but only raw.

[SPEAKER_00]: If any man said to him, let him first burn the fat and then take as much as you wish.

[SPEAKER_00]: Then he would answer him, no, but you will give it to me now, and if not, I will take it by force.

[SPEAKER_00]: There were 17.

[SPEAKER_00]: Therefore, the sin of the young men was very great for the Lord for the men, treated the offering of the Lord with content.

[SPEAKER_00]: See, so that's the sin.

[SPEAKER_00]: They were treating God with contempt, his law with contempt, and this is why it's important to follow God in His rules.

[SPEAKER_00]: Not we're not talking about the rules of the people of Israel, as far as the devil law that doesn't concern us, but we're talking about these first law war Israelites.

[SPEAKER_00]: But they were treating as if God didn't know anything, as he wasn't important.

[SPEAKER_00]: You see, it's disrespectful.

[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to treat God the Father with absolute respect, but they were doing contempt.

[SPEAKER_00]: This is why when your father in the house tells you a rule and you said, that's dumb.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's why I used to get in serious trouble.

[SPEAKER_00]: And then one I never said that, because I knew if I did, there would be a lot of trouble.

[SPEAKER_00]: We're the respect our fathers, our respect our mothers.

[SPEAKER_00]: And if you started breaking the rules all the time, you would get in serious trouble.

[SPEAKER_00]: Whatever it might be, some mama's in dad's will whip you.

[SPEAKER_00]: I had some of that.

[SPEAKER_00]: Let me tell you, you might say, you're overweight.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, well, I used to have a lot more weight and tell a certain belt came upon me.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now, there's other times where you'd be grounded.

[SPEAKER_00]: You see, each person has a different way of being punished.

[SPEAKER_00]: Because a mother and a father have different ways of punishing, and it was different for each child.

[SPEAKER_00]: What worked for my brother's, may not work for me, or vice versa.

[SPEAKER_00]: My mom one time when I was seven years old, I think actually it was six.

[SPEAKER_00]: from drawing.

[SPEAKER_00]: You know why?

[SPEAKER_00]: Because that's something I not only love, I had to do.

[SPEAKER_00]: It was like breathing air.

[SPEAKER_00]: I had to draw.

[SPEAKER_00]: And she also knew that I felt guilty if I disobeyed.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I did try to draw, try to break the rule.

[SPEAKER_00]: But I couldn't do it.

[SPEAKER_00]: You know why?

[SPEAKER_00]: I start to draw and I can't do it.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I had to put it all because God used my conscience for me.

[SPEAKER_00]: I was going to say again,

[SPEAKER_00]: And that them teach me that is what teaches me even now to be obedient to God.

[SPEAKER_00]: Rules are important.

[SPEAKER_00]: People say rules are made to be broken.

[SPEAKER_00]: You liar.

[SPEAKER_00]: They're to be followed.

[SPEAKER_00]: Especially the rules of the Lord God because he knows he loves us.

[SPEAKER_00]: He wants us to do well.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's why five of these are raised or child up in the way of the Lord.

[SPEAKER_00]: Let's go down now to verse 22.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now, Eli was very old.

[SPEAKER_00]: And he had heard all the his sons were doing to all Israel, even that they lay with women who served the doorway of the

[SPEAKER_00]: He said to them, why are you doing these things?

[SPEAKER_00]: For I am hearing of all the evil dealings from all these people, no my son's truly it is not a good report that I hear the people of the Lord's spreading.

[SPEAKER_00]: If one man sends against another, God will judge him, but if a man sends against the Lord, who won't you see it for him?

[SPEAKER_00]: But they did not listen to the voice of their father because the Lord desired to kill them.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now, wait, what does that mean, pastor?

[SPEAKER_00]: Does that mean God hated him and he shut off the ears?

[SPEAKER_00]: No, no, no, no, no.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's the same with the Pharaoh before.

[SPEAKER_00]: If you look in Exodus, people say, that's not fair.

[SPEAKER_00]: God made the Pharaoh not to listen.

[SPEAKER_00]: No, no, no, God would try to get Pharaoh to listen.

[SPEAKER_00]: He would try to get hoffing the Athenians, but they didn't know the Lord.

[SPEAKER_00]: They didn't care about God and they shut their own ears.

[SPEAKER_00]: Also, God said, okay, have I know why you dope you?

[SPEAKER_00]: And so they did.

[SPEAKER_00]: God said, go ahead and do what you want to do.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not going to let you listen because you weren't listening to me.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so, therefore, they're going to get what they wanted.

[SPEAKER_00]: And you'll see.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now, verse 26, now the boy Samuel was growing both in stature and favor with the Lord and also with men, who's Samuel?

[SPEAKER_00]: Samuel was the boy.

[SPEAKER_00]: Samuel was a little boy, who was promised in the God from Hannah, who we talked about a mother's eight, six weeks ago.

[SPEAKER_00]: Was promised and given to God and Eli was to raise him.

[SPEAKER_00]: as his own, but even better because he was promised unto God.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so, therefore, we see that did he lie in love, God.

[SPEAKER_00]: Sure he did.

[SPEAKER_00]: He loved God very much.

[SPEAKER_00]: He was a good man.

[SPEAKER_00]: However, he was a horrible father.

[SPEAKER_00]: And you see, I'm going to point this out.

[SPEAKER_00]: There's many of fathers who love God.

[SPEAKER_00]: But they love the kids more than they do God.

[SPEAKER_00]: Because they treat their kids if they're more importantly God.

[SPEAKER_00]: And they let their kids do anything they want to do.

[SPEAKER_00]: And if they really love their boys, if they really love their daughters, they would raise them as if they're less important

[SPEAKER_00]: And by not, by not putting God before them, they really don't let their kids more.

[SPEAKER_00]: You see, when you let your kids do anything they want to do without making God more important, therefore you're letting your kid be a God unto you and therefore by doing so, you're letting your kid

[SPEAKER_00]: raise up without knowing God thoroughly and therefore you are now letting your child run you and run your house and ruin your house and therefore your kid is going to have a horrible life because their father didn't live by example.

[SPEAKER_00]: and that's horribly hard.

[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to get to that now.

[SPEAKER_00]: Let's look go to says the verse 27 and man of God came to Eli and said to him, I'm going to try to cut some of this if I can't.

[SPEAKER_00]: There was a man, it didn't say his name, but he was a prophet apparently.

[SPEAKER_00]: He came and he was used of God.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now this is the Lord God speaking through this man, whoever the man was.

[SPEAKER_00]: The man of God can heal and said to him, thus says the Lord, did I not plainly reveal myself to the house of your father when they were in Egypt in the Pharaoh's house and choose him out of all the tribes of Israel to be my priest.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now who is that?

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, Aaron and all of them, they were the Levites.

[SPEAKER_00]: They were the Levites.

[SPEAKER_00]: That means from the family of Levi, that's who they are.

[SPEAKER_00]: to burn incense, to wear and ephod before me that was like the little chest piece with had all the little stones each stone for each tribe, each sun, okay?

[SPEAKER_00]: So,

[SPEAKER_00]: and I gave to the house of your father all the offerings made by fire by the children of Israel.

[SPEAKER_00]: Why do you kick at my sacrifice and at my offering, which I have commanded in my dwelling?

[SPEAKER_00]: And honor your sons above me, see, to make yourself fat with the best of all the offerings of Israel, my people.

[SPEAKER_00]: Therefore, the Lord God of Israel says, I surely said that your house and the house of your father should walk before me forever.

[SPEAKER_00]: But now, the Lord says, far be it for me to do so.

[SPEAKER_00]: For those who honor me will honor and those

[SPEAKER_00]: who that despise me will be humbled the days are coming when I will cut off your authority and the strength of your father's house so there shall be sure not be an old man in your house.

[SPEAKER_00]: Usually, in other words, he's going to stop the growth of these people that are going to die young.

[SPEAKER_00]: You shall see the distress of my dwelling, despite all the good, which will be done for Israel.

[SPEAKER_00]: And there shall be not an elderly man in your house perpetually.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yet the one I do not cut off from my altar will be spared, so your eyes will not stop weeping or you're so grieving.

[SPEAKER_00]: goes on to say, all the increase of your house will die in their prime.

[SPEAKER_00]: This will be the sign to you, which will come upon your two sons, Hoffnian Finnias.

[SPEAKER_00]: In one day, they will both die, and I will raise up for myself a faithful priest.

[SPEAKER_00]: What is in my heart and in my soul, he will do it.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I will build him a sure house, and it will walk before my anointed forever.

[SPEAKER_00]: But it will be that everyone who is in left in your house will come and bow down to him for a piece of silver and a morsel of bread.

[SPEAKER_00]: And we'll say, please attach me to one of the priestly offices.

[SPEAKER_00]: that I may eat a piece of bread.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now, it says that saying will grew up.

[SPEAKER_00]: But here's what happened.

[SPEAKER_00]: As he was growing up, it says that one day, he suddenly heard his name call that night.

[SPEAKER_00]: And as he heard his name called, he went into Eli's, I'm here and he says,

[SPEAKER_00]: We'll go lay down.

[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't call on to you.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so he goes and lays down again.

[SPEAKER_00]: And once again, he heard his name called out.

[SPEAKER_00]: He says, I'm here.

[SPEAKER_00]: And he goes, go lay down.

[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't call on to you.

[SPEAKER_00]: So Sammy goes and lays down again.

[SPEAKER_00]: This is all chapter three by the way.

[SPEAKER_00]: And he goes and lays down one more time.

[SPEAKER_00]: And for a third time, he heard his name called, and it goes on to Eli again.

[SPEAKER_00]: And Eli goes, go lay down now, you can understand.

[SPEAKER_00]: Eli is an old man.

[SPEAKER_00]: You're trying to get sleep, and just as you're about to go to sleep, something happens, maybe you have to use your rest room.

[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe the phone rings, maybe I've had to happen, just as I'm about to, here you're had that where you're just about to go to sleep and suddenly you feel like you're falling.

[SPEAKER_00]: And you wake up and I hate that.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, anyway, this is what was happening this poor man.

[SPEAKER_00]: You just about to go to sleep in that little boy comes in there.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you called.

[SPEAKER_00]: I had called go to sleep at the third time when it happened to go wait a minute.

[SPEAKER_00]: Could it be that God has called it for him?

[SPEAKER_00]: So he says, okay, this time Samuel, this time

[SPEAKER_00]: Whenever he knew it was God, he called on to the voices.

[SPEAKER_00]: Therefore, you like to say to him, Samuel, go lie down.

[SPEAKER_00]: And it will be, if he calls you that you will say, speak Lord for your servant listen.

[SPEAKER_00]: So Samuel went and laid down in his place.

[SPEAKER_00]: But Lord came, I like this, it says, the Lord came astud, and he called, as at other times, Samuel, Samuel.

[SPEAKER_00]: Then Samuel says, speak for your servant listens.

[SPEAKER_00]: Just as Eli told him.

[SPEAKER_00]: And it says, this verse 11, the Lord said to Samuel C, I am doing something in Israel, which will make both ears ring of everyone that hears it.

[SPEAKER_00]: In that day, I will bring about a guest Eli, everything which I

[SPEAKER_00]: I have spoken with her word, excuse me, with her guard to his house from beginning to him.

[SPEAKER_00]: For I told him that I will judge his house forever for the guilt which he knew because his sons are cursed and he did not reboot them.

[SPEAKER_00]: Therefore, I have sworn to the house of Eli that the iniquity of Eli's house shall not be atoned for

[SPEAKER_00]: for with checker files nor offering forever.

[SPEAKER_00]: Samuel laid down until the next morning.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now don't you know Samuel felt bad.

[SPEAKER_00]: Don't you know that he must have sent a Lord?

[SPEAKER_00]: I, oh, he had to feel bad.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, Eli, he was probably nervous as I'll get out.

[SPEAKER_00]: And he was waiting around for Samuel to get up.

[SPEAKER_00]: And when he did, he said, here I am.

[SPEAKER_00]: And he came to him.

[SPEAKER_00]: And he said, what is the thing the Lord has spoken to you?

[SPEAKER_00]: Do not hide it from me.

[SPEAKER_00]: Thus may God do so to you.

[SPEAKER_00]: And more also, if you hide it from me, a word out of all the things that he spoke to you, saying, you told them everything, they didn't hide anything from him.

[SPEAKER_00]: And he said, and this is what Eli said back.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I appreciate Eli for this.

[SPEAKER_00]: The boy would be hard to say so.

[SPEAKER_00]: He said, it is the Lord, let him do what is good in his eyes.

[SPEAKER_00]: See, Eli was a good man, but a horrible father.

[SPEAKER_00]: How many dads are out there today?

[SPEAKER_00]: How many fathers are out there today?

[SPEAKER_00]: They're good men, at least in the eyes of people.

[SPEAKER_00]: They're good men, and they love God.

[SPEAKER_00]: But they're horrible, that's because they're letting the kids run the roost.

[SPEAKER_00]: They're letting the kids not come to church because they don't feel like coming to church.

[SPEAKER_00]: You don't understand pastor, they're 18.

[SPEAKER_00]: You don't understand the, are they in your house?

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: But you don't stand pastor, what am I supposed to do?

[SPEAKER_00]: Tell on the rules, live by example.

[SPEAKER_00]: But you don't understand, you're not a father, you know what?

[SPEAKER_00]: If I wasn't a father, I would do that very thing.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, they hate my gut to labor on that Sunday morning.

[SPEAKER_00]: but I do it.

[SPEAKER_00]: You and my father drove me crazy on Sunday morning.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, he drove me nuts.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm gonna be honest with him, dad, you know.

[SPEAKER_00]: But here's the thing, he was true.

[SPEAKER_00]: On Sunday morning, he didn't just say, hey, son, it's time to get up.

[SPEAKER_00]: And he'd go leave me alone and then come back and now I know he did not.

[SPEAKER_00]: You know, he would do drove me insane.

[SPEAKER_00]: He come on Sunday morning to say, son, son, are you getting up?

[SPEAKER_00]: I have my alarm set that he goes, okay, I just want to make sure.

[SPEAKER_00]: And then my alarm come up, well, morning and go off here goes now, now you do have your alarm, right?

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, dad, I have my alarm, I'll get up with my alarm goes up, okay, I just want to make sure.

[SPEAKER_00]: And then my alarm will go off, and I get up, you're up right, son?

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'm up, I'm up, I'm up.

[SPEAKER_00]: Did you answer me?

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm up, okay, don't yell.

[SPEAKER_00]: All right, and I'm getting ready.

[SPEAKER_00]: All right, so I'm going to leave a 10 minutes, okay?

[SPEAKER_00]: The zeas of snoring?

[SPEAKER_00]: are serving Christ.

[SPEAKER_00]: Father's live by example, serve God the Father, and show the children any light didn't.

[SPEAKER_00]: And we saw what happened in chapter four.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just going to tell you what happens.

[SPEAKER_00]: The Philistines were winning in battle.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so as he was saying, we need the arch of covenant.

[SPEAKER_00]: So God will be with us and it's scared of the Philistines.

[SPEAKER_00]: By the time we get to chapter 4 verse 7, the Philistines were afraid, they saw, they said, oh no, God has come into the camp.

[SPEAKER_00]: This is never happiness.

[SPEAKER_00]: Whoa to us, this is never happiness before.

[SPEAKER_00]: Whoa to us, who delivers out of the hand of the mighty gods.

[SPEAKER_00]: And they say, God's plural, lower K.S.G.

[SPEAKER_00]: These are the guys that struck the Egyptians with every plague and the wilderness.

[SPEAKER_00]: Be strong and be men, no Philistines.

[SPEAKER_00]: Let's you be servants to the Hebrews as they have been to you.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now the men, now be men in fight.

[SPEAKER_00]: So the Philistines fought and Israel was beaten.

[SPEAKER_00]: Why?

[SPEAKER_00]: Then they had the ark of the front of folks.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's not the thing.

[SPEAKER_00]: People misuse the Bible all the time.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's not the thing.

[SPEAKER_00]: It is who the thing represents.

[SPEAKER_00]: God is who it is supposed to be with you.

[SPEAKER_00]: You don't take the thing away from God and say how come I'm not feeling the presence of God because you're not with God.

[SPEAKER_00]: You're on your own.

[SPEAKER_00]: But I live in a Christian home, better make sure, better be sure, better be sure.

[SPEAKER_00]: And Philistines want to listen now.

[SPEAKER_00]: They lost, Israel did, 30,000 foot soldiers died.

[SPEAKER_00]: The Ark of the Covenant was taken, and there are two sons of Eli Hopney and Phineas died.

[SPEAKER_00]: A man who was a servant and he was a man of Benjamin, he'd left and fled and went to Eli, and he told Eli what happened.

[SPEAKER_00]: And when he told Eli what happened and that the Ark of the Covenant was taken, he went and Eli heard the noise of crying and he said, what does this noise?

[SPEAKER_00]: In this, uh, uh, his toldment mean in the man hurried in the toldy like exactly what happened and the Eli was 98 years old and says, eyes were dim and he said, uh, the man said, Eli, I am he that came out of the army and fled today out of this battle line and he said, what is this word, my son, the messenger told him.

[SPEAKER_00]: He said, Israel has fled from the Philistines and there also has been a great slaughter among the people.

[SPEAKER_00]: is taken, and when he mentioned the arc of the covenant, Eli fell off the seat backward by the side of the gate, and it said he broke his neck and died, said that he was old and heavy.

[SPEAKER_00]: And he had judged Israel for 40 years.

[SPEAKER_00]: It also said that he had a daughter in all of his Phineas' wife.

[SPEAKER_00]: She was expecting, and she gave birth, and she did not make it through there.

[SPEAKER_00]: And she had a son, who the woman who gave her the baby, gave a name, and his name was Ikebod.

[SPEAKER_00]: Ikebod, and Ikebod means the glory is departed from Israel.

[SPEAKER_00]: This is a sad story.

[SPEAKER_00]: Eli was a good man, but a bad dad.

[SPEAKER_00]: We don't want to be that father's.

[SPEAKER_00]: Be a good man and a good man of God.

[SPEAKER_00]: Raise your children the way it should go.

[SPEAKER_00]: Be loving fathers.

[SPEAKER_00]: A loving father gives what the child needs.

[SPEAKER_00]: This includes love, protection, correction, discipline, guidance, and being unliked at times.

[SPEAKER_00]: No, don't bring them up.

[SPEAKER_00]: in anger, but sometimes they're going to be angry for the right reasons.

[SPEAKER_00]: So it says a Proverbs 22 verse 6, train up a child in the way he should go.

Proverbs 22:6

[SPEAKER_00]: And when he is old, he will not depart from it.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now, if they choose not to follow God after you raise them, that's up to them.

[SPEAKER_00]: But that's not up to you.

[SPEAKER_00]: If you raise them correctly, and they still don't want to follow God, that's up to them.

[SPEAKER_00]: But you know if you've done everything that you can do, and they still choose not to follow God, that's up to them.

[SPEAKER_00]: and expect to Samuel.

[SPEAKER_00]: And don't raise a Samuel, or try to raise a Samuel, and they choose to be Hoffman and Phineas, blame yourself.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's not your fault.

[SPEAKER_00]: If he's in six four, fathers do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in discipline and instruction of the Lord.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now, some people misunderstand this.

[SPEAKER_00]: They read this and say, don't provoke your children to anger.

[SPEAKER_00]: That means don't discipline them.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's all what the Bible says.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now, it's true when it says, do not provoke them to anger.

[SPEAKER_00]: That means don't torment them.

[SPEAKER_00]: Don't go ahead of them all the time.

[SPEAKER_00]: I've seen fathers do that.

[SPEAKER_00]: I've no fathers to do this.

[SPEAKER_00]: Always on their children's case.

[SPEAKER_00]: She got to have some balance.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now, I can understand, sometimes a child is hard to deal with.

[SPEAKER_00]: But sometimes a father is too.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now, I understand that, but let's see what it says.

[SPEAKER_00]: Once again, if he's in 64, fathers do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline

[SPEAKER_00]: Jesus said that himself.

[SPEAKER_00]: We live in a community now and I'll call them out this world.

[SPEAKER_00]: They don't want to be disciplined.

[SPEAKER_00]: They don't want a president who gives rules.

[SPEAKER_00]: They think he's evil.

[SPEAKER_00]: They'll call them everything but Hitler and sometimes that.

[SPEAKER_00]: Because they think anyone who gives any kind of rule is a jerk.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I can understand that.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's full of brats with that way.

[SPEAKER_00]: And they are a spoiled brats.

[SPEAKER_00]: Who are you to tell me what to do?

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not, but God does all, I don't believe in God.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, that doesn't mean He's not real.

[SPEAKER_00]: Just because you don't believe in a certain medicine, doesn't mean the medicine doesn't exist.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't believe it's going to help.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, don't take it then.

[SPEAKER_00]: You'll see what happens.

[SPEAKER_00]: Hebrews 127, and do our discipline.

[SPEAKER_00]: God is dealing with you as with sons.

[SPEAKER_00]: For what son is there who my father does not discipline?

[SPEAKER_00]: I'll tell you who a bad father.

[SPEAKER_00]: a stupid father, an ignorant father.

[SPEAKER_00]: A father does a lot of the sons very much.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's the truth, I need a lie, and I know that sounds horrible because I would love me lie, but I don't respect you, I really know, I don't respect him.

[SPEAKER_00]: Not as a father at least.

[SPEAKER_00]: One last one for this area of loving fathers, first created in 1614, that all that you do be done with love.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now this is important because some people say, I'm gonna crack them.

[SPEAKER_00]: And people misunderstand love.

[SPEAKER_00]: I love my baby, that's good.

[SPEAKER_00]: but make sure love means that they're being corrected.

[SPEAKER_00]: With love, but correct them.

[SPEAKER_00]: If you love me, correct them.

[SPEAKER_00]: And then there's leading fathers.

[SPEAKER_00]: Father's who lead them.

[SPEAKER_00]: As time goes on, when you age, it knowledge is with you and them.

[SPEAKER_00]: The father will be living by example.

[SPEAKER_00]: A father has to live by example.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's very difficult.

[SPEAKER_00]: I feel sorry for fathers, because it's very hard.

[SPEAKER_00]: Father's making mistakes, because they're human.

[SPEAKER_00]: And boy, people pointed at that all the time.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, look here, he may mistake, see God on me, one time he whip me and I didn't even deserve it.

[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, let's be honest, nine times out of ten, you deserve that spanking or that grounding or that getting on to.

[SPEAKER_00]: that 10th time that maybe you didn't, and there was probably others that you deserved and you didn't get caught.

[SPEAKER_00]: If I'm honest, there's a lot of times that I was hiding behind the door and got away with something.

[SPEAKER_00]: Don't get me now, ma.

[SPEAKER_00]: But either way, there's times, I got away with things.

[SPEAKER_00]: But there's other times that he, I did get character from my father when I didn't do anything wrong.

[SPEAKER_00]: You gotta understand, parents are human.

[SPEAKER_00]: They made mistakes.

[SPEAKER_00]: But instead of holding that against him for 30 years, I know people would say, my dad wouldn't be me.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I didn't do anything, all all I did was kick at the door.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, that's something wrong.

[SPEAKER_00]: You disrespect for a little bread?

[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm gonna tell you something, here's 16 years old, they're just still whining about he's not even with this anymore.

[SPEAKER_00]: He's still whining about, come on.

[SPEAKER_00]: Grow up a little bit, would you?

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, other things has happened to him.

[SPEAKER_00]: He should be worried about that and not about your father getting on yet.

[SPEAKER_00]: Come on, for pity's sake.

[SPEAKER_00]: Children should appreciate their parents, especially the father and mother.

[SPEAKER_00]: Even if you don't agree with them, you should appreciate that they did their best, to lead them a God's special in the ways of the Lord.

[SPEAKER_00]: And remember, it's by action, it's not just words.

[SPEAKER_00]: I've heard stupid fathers say, do as I say, not as I do, that's dumb.

[SPEAKER_00]: You should lead by actions.

[SPEAKER_00]: This deed is not just words.

[SPEAKER_00]: I was a very stupid movie with my brother called Mega Force.

[SPEAKER_00]: It is dumb, but it's fun.

[SPEAKER_00]: And one of their catchphrases and there was deeds not words.

[SPEAKER_00]: That means by your actions, you're a known.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's what it means.

[SPEAKER_00]: And it's true.

[SPEAKER_00]: Proverbs 1426, it says, in the fear of the Lord, it's strong confidence.

[SPEAKER_00]: And its children will have a place of refuge.

[SPEAKER_00]: That means when you respect God,

[SPEAKER_00]: And whenever you have absolute respect, fear means respecting this sense.

[SPEAKER_00]: They come to God and they know that they can be with Him and He will protect Him.

[SPEAKER_00]: I always knew I was safe with my dad.

[SPEAKER_00]: When dad was home, I felt safe.

[SPEAKER_00]: When dad wasn't home, I didn't feel safe.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm talking about when he was at a town, what's he was a lot.

[SPEAKER_00]: But I remember that I always felt not near safe when dad was gone.

[SPEAKER_00]: Do not let this proper chapter three, three, three, four.

[SPEAKER_00]: Proper street through through four.

[SPEAKER_00]: Do not let mercy and truth forsake you.

[SPEAKER_00]: Buy in them around your neck.

[SPEAKER_00]: Write them on the tablet of your heart.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so you will find favor and good understanding in the sight of God and man.

[SPEAKER_00]: The fathers are to do this, the children are to do this.

[SPEAKER_00]: Philippians 46 says, be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and supplication with gratitude, make your request, no, no, no.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now, we get anxious, but we don't need to be so worried when we know that Father God is with this always.

[SPEAKER_00]: And he's with this to your fathers, our Father's lead us.

[SPEAKER_00]: If our Father leads us to Father God, we know that we can always go to God.

[SPEAKER_00]: I know I'm not near as concerned as I once was as a child, because my Father led me to the Lord.

[SPEAKER_00]: as did my mother incidentally, but they and my grandmother and grandfather and my antimucle and others led by example.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so therefore, I'm not afraid.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not afraid of death.

[SPEAKER_00]: I face death many times.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not afraid of it.

[SPEAKER_00]: Because greatest use in me, the use of the work for Sean44, you know that.

[SPEAKER_00]: First, John 215.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, it's important.

[SPEAKER_00]: And fathers, be examples.

[SPEAKER_00]: Listen to this, do not love the world or the things in the world.

[SPEAKER_00]: If anyone loves the world, the love of the father is not in him.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now I'm not talking backside.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm saying be careful.

[SPEAKER_00]: Don't be afraid of the things the world will talk about that a little bit of that next week.

[SPEAKER_00]: Don't be afraid of those things.

[SPEAKER_00]: it's hard to show the love of God if you're continuously being enslaved to those things.

[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe right now you feel back because you don't feel like you were a very good example.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, that can change, because even if you were a bad example, you can go to your kid later on.

[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe there are adults now.

[SPEAKER_00]: You can go to them and say, you know what, I failed there.

[SPEAKER_00]: But I can improve to you now that even in all of our faults, God could still help us.

[SPEAKER_00]: And that's a good example.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's a good example.

[SPEAKER_00]: But here's the thing, as a Christian, man.

[SPEAKER_00]: This should always come from being Godly fathers.

[SPEAKER_00]: Even if making many mistakes, we can go to God.

[SPEAKER_00]: Godly fathers come from God the Father when we follow Him.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now I just say a perfect Father, because that doesn't exist, except from God the Father Himself.

[SPEAKER_00]: God through you is perfect.

[SPEAKER_00]: God through you is perfect.

[SPEAKER_00]: So I'll finish by saying these last few scriptures here.

[SPEAKER_00]: First Corinthians 1613.

[SPEAKER_00]: First Corinthians 1613.

[SPEAKER_00]: Watch, stand fast in the faith.

[SPEAKER_00]: Be bold like men and be strong.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's one of my favorite scriptures for men.

[SPEAKER_00]: I said a lot.

[SPEAKER_00]: Watch, stand fat fast.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now in this case, fast doesn't mean move fast.

[SPEAKER_00]: It means stand firm.

[SPEAKER_00]: Says, watch, stand firm.

[SPEAKER_00]: Stand fast in the faith.

[SPEAKER_00]: Be bold like men and be strong.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now, ladies, you see a lot of young men.

[SPEAKER_00]: They don't act like men.

[SPEAKER_00]: They act like women.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's not an insult to women.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's an insult to the men who don't know if they're man or woman.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now, they don't know because society tells them that you shouldn't be a man.

[SPEAKER_00]: Society tells women to be like a man.

[SPEAKER_00]: They're confused.

[SPEAKER_00]: God's not the author of Confusion for his Christian chapter 14.

[SPEAKER_00]: Second Timothy 215, second Timothy 215, said it to show yourself a proof by God, a workman who need not be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

[SPEAKER_00]: You better stand with the Word of God, lead your family, lead your family, and be led yourself by the Word of God.

[SPEAKER_00]: If you ever have confusing situations in your workplace or in your family or anything else, go to the Word of God.

[SPEAKER_00]: You'll show you the Word, but I don't know where to look.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, two things you can do pray, but the Holy Spirit lead you guys to he will or call your pastor.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm afraid to bother you, you're not gonna bother me.

[SPEAKER_00]: Don't let that be an excuse.

[SPEAKER_00]: You might be sleeping, call me anyway.

[SPEAKER_00]: Wake me up, talk to me, talk to me.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'll help you, the Lord God will talk to you through me.

[SPEAKER_00]: We will do this together.

[SPEAKER_00]: You know what the great thing about being a pastor?

[SPEAKER_00]: It's like being a father.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's like being a father.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's why they call a priest.

[SPEAKER_00]: I will be a father in this sense, like a shepherd, leading.

[SPEAKER_00]: If you need to know answers in the Bible, I'll do my best.

[SPEAKER_00]: One of the good things of a smart phone is you can ask flat too.

[SPEAKER_00]: There's be careful because sometimes they try to miss lead.

[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe you were raised with that a good father figure.

[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe you were.

[SPEAKER_00]: But God replaces it with others.

[SPEAKER_00]: and God is your father figure.

[SPEAKER_00]: I know people didn't have a good father and some more closer to that, but some were close to my dad.

[SPEAKER_00]: And some fathers trying to make up for it later.

[SPEAKER_00]: I have a good friend right now who's father is trying to make up for things that happened early in his life.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I commend him for that.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's a good thing.

[SPEAKER_00]: Someone always went back to say, yeah, but they messed up then and that, yeah, but they're still trying.

[SPEAKER_00]: No, it's perfect, but God is, and God through them can be used.

[SPEAKER_00]: Third John one four, John said this.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now, John, as we don't know that, I'm talking about John that is cycle now, the apostle.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know that John was a father.

[SPEAKER_00]: We don't know what he really knows, but let's say what John said, third John one four, because he was a father, like I am in this sense, leading people.

[SPEAKER_00]: I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.

[SPEAKER_00]: God wants to know that his children are walking at truth.

[SPEAKER_00]: Are you following your father God today?

[SPEAKER_00]: Every morning, when you wake up, the first thing you should say is, hello, Father.

[SPEAKER_00]: Hello, Father God.

[SPEAKER_00]: I love you.

[SPEAKER_00]: Be with me, Lord.

[SPEAKER_00]: Lead me and guide me in your way, not mine.

[SPEAKER_00]: Throughout the middle of the day, dear, precious Heavenly Father.

[SPEAKER_00]: Lord, help me to make the right choice today.

[SPEAKER_00]: Some people think it's pushing too much to ask for these old things, it's not folks.

[SPEAKER_00]: Whenever you give a big deal, it couldn't be a little deal.

[SPEAKER_00]: So my say, it's not.

[SPEAKER_00]: God wants to lead you in God too.

[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe it's a relationship you're in.

[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe it's your workplace.

[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe it's when you're on the highway and you're worried about something.

[SPEAKER_00]: Call the God.

[SPEAKER_00]: I can't get on my hands and he's who said you need to be in your hands and he's every time.

[SPEAKER_00]: Talk to him, wherever you are.

[SPEAKER_00]: Talk to him.

[SPEAKER_00]: Before you go to sleep and I at Lord God, Father, thank you for being with me.

[SPEAKER_00]: I pray now you put me to sleep and rest in peace.

[SPEAKER_00]: Father, I know that he's with you and we close by saying Proverbs chapter 1, 8-9 and know that Father God loves you.

[SPEAKER_00]: Pastor, you don't know.

[SPEAKER_00]: You don't know all the mistakes I've made.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not the best child.

[SPEAKER_00]: On the other end, I made many mistakes too.

[SPEAKER_00]: But you know how it's talking about how my father was a good dad and he was.

[SPEAKER_00]: And sometimes I felt like I made him ashamed of me.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I would go to him and say, Dad, are you upset with me?

[SPEAKER_00]: He'd say, well, I might be disappointed about what you did, but I always love you, no matter what.

[SPEAKER_00]: And that's how Father God is for you.

[SPEAKER_00]: Sometimes I think about my dad saying that, I start to want to cry.

[SPEAKER_00]: Even right before he died, I thought he looked at me like that.

[SPEAKER_00]: And then I try not to think on only those moments because I remember the moment when my dad would look right at me and he'd have moments of joy, pure joy.

[SPEAKER_00]: And if your father's in heaven right now, I want you to remember this.

[SPEAKER_00]: He is right now for so full of joy and he'll be full of joy when he sees you.

[SPEAKER_00]: More importantly, your father, God, is full of joy knowing that you're his child.

[SPEAKER_00]: And he's not holding anything on you.

[SPEAKER_00]: He forgave you completely, thoroughly.

[SPEAKER_00]: Wash all your sins away.

[SPEAKER_00]: He's not holding it on you.

[SPEAKER_00]: You better not hold it on you either.

[SPEAKER_00]: Be like Father God.

[SPEAKER_00]: Forgive yourself for what you've done.

[SPEAKER_00]: Go to Him today.

[SPEAKER_00]: Come forward at the invitation.

[SPEAKER_00]: Be forgiven completely.

[SPEAKER_00]: Don't hold it against you.

[SPEAKER_00]: If you're questioning your salvation, come to Father God.

[SPEAKER_00]: Be washed completely.

[SPEAKER_00]: Why does know from His Son Jesus?

[SPEAKER_00]: And know that you have a father who loves you, no matter what.

[SPEAKER_00]: And on this Father's day, have a brand new father who will always love you, no matter what you've done.

[SPEAKER_00]: Just like Father God loves me, and will always love you too.

[SPEAKER_00]: My son, it says, Proverbs 1, 8 through 9, my son, hear the instruction of your father and do not forsake the teaching of your mother.

[SPEAKER_00]: For they will be a garden of grace around your grace on your head and chains about your neck.

[SPEAKER_00]: Father God loves you, always and forever.

[SPEAKER_00]: Let's bow and prayer.

[SPEAKER_00]: Lord God, I pray right now after being here today who questions your salvation.

[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe it's because of things they've done wrong, or maybe they're even questioning where there was right or wrong, and they don't know.

[SPEAKER_00]: I pray Lord God, this will be the day they come forward.

[SPEAKER_00]: And they no longer have to worry about that.

[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe there's someone here, Lord God, who has questions about their father, who's no longer with us.

[SPEAKER_00]: and Lord, they're just bothered by it.

[SPEAKER_00]: Or maybe they're missing their love one so much.

[SPEAKER_00]: They don't know what to do.

[SPEAKER_00]: I pray this will be the day Lord God, you put peace upon their heart.

[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe there's someone who's not able to be here because they're physically ill, or for other reasons, they're not able to be here.

[SPEAKER_00]: I pray Lord God, you be with them, strengthen them, let them feel your presence is very moment.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I pray Lord, Father God, you allow them to feel your love at this very moment in time.

[SPEAKER_00]: I pray all this in your holy press name, Lord God.
