[SPEAKER_00]: Let's all now turn to Matthew.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Chapter six, Matthew chapter six, verse 19 and through 21.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Incidentally, this is when they're on the Mount of Beatitudes.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: And Jesus is speaking to them all.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: They start to Matthew chapter five and goes through Matthew chapter all the way to the end of Matthew chapter seven.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: We're not gonna read all that today.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: We're just gonna go through this moment.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Actually, it's also in,
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Luke, we're going to read this verse again and look at the end of the term.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: So let's now turn to Matthew 6, 19 through 21, if you can please stand to honor the reading of God's Word.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: It says, Matthew 6, 19 through 21, you've heard it before.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Do not store up for yourselves, treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: But store up for yourselves, treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroy, and where thieves do not break in or steal.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: But where your treasure is, there, your heart be also.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: God bless and honor the reading of his word, and you may be seated.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: It was a novel, an 1883, but before it was a novel, the author, it's got a shop, they're actually.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: It's got a shop, they're Robert Lewis, Stevenson.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: He wrote a couple, really great stories.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: a few, but the ones that are most well known as Treasure Island, and also, well, he were not, it wouldn't seem like it's written by the same man, but he also wrote Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, but either way, he wrote the Treasure Island story as a magazine story.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Some say it was 1983, the same year, some say it was 1881 and 82, because it was kind
-
[SPEAKER_00]: as long as the sea cook and later came out in 1883 as a novel, but in this novel of treasure island has come out many, many, many, many, many, many times as different.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: radio programs back then they had radio programs they haven't television and so they had radio programs you might remember this you all who are so young I was getting kidding that was before your time but you can actually listen to some of this stuff on YouTube or other places you can actually buy some of these old things and they also had a all the besides that they had a lot of movies we'll talk about one of them here in a minute they had children's books about it they've had comment books about cartoons television shows even they were based off of it
-
[SPEAKER_00]: And then my personal favorite of all these is the most well-known version, which came out in 1950 was the first full live action Walt Disney movie.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: They had other live action films, but they would use the animation in any way.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: First full live action film that came out in July 19th, 1950, before most of your born, some of your born right after.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: But either way, in 1950, the film came out of President, and I didn't watch it again, they're like that old movie.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: It's fun.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, Jim Hawkins, you know that character, Jim Hawkins, the young boy, he received a map, a treasure map from Billy Bones.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: And through that, you learn about all sorts of things like the black spot, and you learn about character name, Long John Silver, of course.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: So I was a kid.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: I remember Long John Silver being in eating place.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: You remember that?
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Eating a stab was from it?
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it is, in some places, and then there was another character named Ben Gunn.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: He was this little bitty, Shribbon Upheller, who was on an island, because he was mowerooned on the island, they says in the story.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: And we also learn one other thing, and that is the X marks the spot.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: We learn lots of things, with those things we learn.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: And so the title today's sermon is Treasure Island.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Treasure Island, but we're not going to talk about the novel though.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: We might mention a few things here and there.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: But first of all, we need to talk about treasure.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Treasure riches go possessions.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Now, one of my favorite movies I've mentioned at many many times, I even mentioned it a couple weeks back.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: One of my favorite movies is Indiana Jones.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: The first woman's greatest lost arc, and the second one was kind of a prequel to place about five years before.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: It's called, well, it was called, help me out here.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Tim will do him.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Tim will do the first one.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: I actually had his name on the story, and he had Jones and Tim will do him.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: And in that, he tells the youngster called short round.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: He tells him, it's all about rich isn't glory kid, you know, fortune and glory.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: And he wanted the money.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: He wanted the fame.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: That's all he wanted.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Fortune glory kid, fortune and glory.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: That's why some people are.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: They want fortune.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: They want glory.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: And we're going to talk about a few people like that today, fortune and glory.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: So let's first
-
[SPEAKER_00]: First Timothy chapter six, now is it wrong to have money?
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, we'll get to that.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: First Timothy chapter six, we're going to read verse one through ten.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: I was going to have less verses, but one of the things I've said this before, I guess you can say I'm complaining, I'm not trying to complain, but sometimes Paul, he's not the only one, but Paul, whenever, now keep in mind when the Bible is written,
-
[SPEAKER_00]: They didn't have verses.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: They say verse one, verse two, verse three, didn't have that.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: So sometimes when they're talking, we do the same.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: We don't say, hey, by the way, comma, we don't say that.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: So sometimes it was hard for them to know where to start and where to begin and end it all that.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: So it was hard for me to know where to start, too, in this, because some of it starts, some of the verses start right in the middle of the sentence.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: So I couldn't do that.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: You seem like every verse I want to start in is in a middle of something saying.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: So I just decided to start to be getting it this chapter.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: I apologize, but I couldn't find another way to do it.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: So here we go.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Chapter 6 for us 1 through 10.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Let us many servants as our under the yoke of slavery count their own masters worthy of all honor so that the name of God and his doctrine may not be slandered.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: But those who have believing masters not despise them,
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Because they are brothers, instead, let them serve as slaves because those who receive their service are faithful and beloved.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: This says,
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Teacher, excuse me, teach and command these things.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Anyone who teaches otherwise and does not consent to wholesome words to the words of our Lord Jesus Christ and to godly doctrine is conceited and knows nothing.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: He has a morbid disposition for controversy and verbal disputes from which come envy, strife, blasphemy's, evil speculations,
-
[SPEAKER_00]: constant disputes by men of corrupt minds, being destitute of the truth, and supposing that financial gain is godliness with draw yourself from such men.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: excuse me for God in this with contentment is great gain for we brought nothing into this we're listening now for we brought nothing into this world and it is certain that we can carry nothing out if we have food and clothing we shall be content with these things but those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare and into many foolish and harmful lusts
-
[SPEAKER_00]: which drown men in ruin and destruction.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: For the love, I'm gonna say it again, for the love, because I'll tell you to take that word out love.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: For the love of money is the root of all evil, while coveting after money, some have strayed from the faith and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: God, as I say, money is a root of all evil.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: May have preached this, I've heard it.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: They say it on TV shows, money is the root of all evil.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: No, it's not the love of money is the root of all evil.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: People make money a God.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: And we're not to do that.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: We're not to do that.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Proverbs 10, 22 says this.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Proverbs 10, 22.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Might want to write that down.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: The blessing of the Lord makes one rich.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: And he has no sorrow with it.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think we just heard they didn't wait.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: And had a good one.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: This is not necessarily material riches.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: There are many riches you're going to find as a Christian.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: They have nothing to do with what you own, materialistically, but you own peace that the world has no idea of.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: You know, fortune glory kid, fortune glory.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: But Indiana Jones, by the end of that movie, realizes that fortune has nothing to do with it's why when you watch Britain start coming to find out that he's not about owning everything.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: He's about putting it in the museum.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Because it's more important for the whole world to receive it.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: And as a Christian, we should make sure that the whole world knows about the word Jesus Christ, the gospel.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: It's not about what we own.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: It's nothing wrong with owning.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: because as long as it doesn't own you, what's we'll get through at a moment.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: But it's a great difference between owning things of necessity, and even owning little prettiest you may have.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: But if you have those things owning you, it becomes your God.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: And you must be very, very careful.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Now there are a lot of preachers who disagree with me, and I don't really care because I'm quoting the word of God.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: So I don't care.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't care what they say about me, but I'm going to tell you about a few preachers in with that.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: I had to put on another
-
[SPEAKER_00]: One that I did not bring a couple of weeks ago, and part of me, it's also a wig.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: But let me just tell you, this hat is a strange one, but you've seen it movies before, at least I'm assuming.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm gonna tell you about some charismatic captains, some charismatic captains, or televangelistic captains.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: They're these charismatic televangelists.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: They're the longitudinal silver types, the treasure hunters, the bold hunters.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: These telebands list, these charismatic captains, they go around, looking for treasure are.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: They're always looking for more gold are, yes, these prosperity pirates, these prosperity princess they are.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: And they're always looking for more gold.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: That's all thereafter.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: You know who they are, I could give you names, but I won't.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: I won't, because I'll let you fill in the gaps.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: You know who they are, you see them all the time.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: they've turned Christianity into a business.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: You know who they are, you see them all the time.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: You've seen them all the time, been around for some of around for 60 years, preaching.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: About give me, give me, give me, give me now and get some later.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Miracle for sale.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Our, give me now, get some nature from the Lord God.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: They say,
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Come on, EE swabs, they say, they say, this word of faith, we give the, and they will talk about this.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: I have the power to speak things into existence, they say, that now they may not say what that accent, but they do say it, and many of these things cost little gods, and they miss quote the scripture, miss quote the word of God, the very thing that the Pharisees said to Jesus Christ, and his quoted it.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: But they don't understand that, they don't seem to see what they're doing, it's so wrong.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: And they'll tell you to send all your money into them, all my heavens, what on earth?
-
[SPEAKER_00]: They call it spirit-filled Christianity.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: They teach goofy on biblical fairy tales sounding things.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: They call it positive confession.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: A naming claimant, they'll say.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: They do.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: They say these things.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: They call it naming claimant, blah-bitten-grabbit.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: In fact, I saw this day of the day.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: One of them was mad at people for
-
[SPEAKER_00]: You know, talking negative about this, and they call us name it, claim it and blab it and grab it.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, you know what, we're quoting them for saying this.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, I say it, make it and take it.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: But here's another one that came up with what's a very true.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: I call it cash scheming and blaspheming.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: That's just what it is when you're miss quote God.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: And tell him that there's you better give me your money, or you're not going to go to heaven or give me your money, or God's not going to bless you.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Or don't listen to that.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Don't listen to listen to Lord God and his word.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: But don't go to these charismatic captains.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: He's prosperity pirates.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Don't go to them.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Go to the Lord God.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: You have the same Holy Spirit.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Because you're not trying to misquote the Word of God.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Bastie mate, he's for pity's sake.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Now, the Bible does talk that certain that they teach that you could throw God for one.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: They say that you could throw God.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: That you tell him what you want.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: He has to give it to you.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: In other words, they're saying he's a gene in the bottom.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: I've quoted that before.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: But in other words, if you tell God what to do, and he has to do it, you know what they're saying?
-
[SPEAKER_00]: You're saying that you're his God, and he's not yours.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Now that's blast for me, if I've ever heard it, that's so wrong and it's good to tie through the church.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: It is.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Tithing, I said it many, many, many, many times.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Tithing is 10% of what you earn.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: If you make 100, you get 10, 10 dollars.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: And we'll go on, we could go on on that.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, he won't.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Anything beyond that is offering.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: And that's when you and the Lord, not when you and me, but don't listen to these pirates who tell you, send me all your money.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Because that's what they're doing.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: They're trying to give you to give their goal.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: They're trying to give you to give their goal.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: They're treasure.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: But we're not going to go into that.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Although I am going to tell you a few things, a few things.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: A lot of people want treasure.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: That's all they're after.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: I have people called on me all the time, looking for treasure.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: That's all they want treasure they want.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: How much do you make, they say, and they want your treasure.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Everybody wants it.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: They want your treasure.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: It seems like they can't get enough of the treasure you have.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: They want treasure treasure treasure.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Now, I don't know about you.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: I, what I call treasure other people don't.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: And we're gonna get into what we have, that's treasure and what truly isn't.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: But what we have that is earthly treasure is not what is a godly treasure.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: We'll get in a godly treasure in a moment.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: may seem like an awful lot.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: It may seem like an awful lot of earthly treasure, but this is the earthly treasure.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: It's far smaller than the godly treasure.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: And if they go to look to see what they're going to take with them, nothing, nothing, you're taking nothing with you.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: You can't take it with you, it's empty.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: It is, it's empty.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: You can't take it with you at all.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Or my favorite movies from Frank Papra, is you can't take it with you.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Because you can't, you can't take it with you.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to take this off, because it gets hot.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: I never had that much here.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Let me just be honest.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Never.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Matthew chapter 6 verse 24.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: This goes right along with what I read earlier, Matthew 624 says this, no one can serve two masters for either he will hate the one and love the other or else he will hold to one and despise the other.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: You cannot serve God and money.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, those, those, uh, prosperity pirates need to know that.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not saying it's wrong to be wealthy.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm saying it's wrong for that wealth to own you.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: And so many of them are misquoting the word of God.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Luke 624, but well to you who are rich for you have received your consolation.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Mark 1025 for it is, okay, now listen, you know this one.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: people and then by the way, well, who was Jesus talking to when he quoted Matthew 6, 1921 and 24 and all that.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Who's your top to?
-
[SPEAKER_00]: He'll talk to a wealthy man.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Who's asking?
-
[SPEAKER_00]: He said, I have done all this.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: My whole life.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: What else do I need to do?
-
[SPEAKER_00]: And Jesus says, all you got to do is get rid of your stuff.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: It come follow me.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Now does that mean it's wrong to own?
-
[SPEAKER_00]: No.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: He was talking to this specific young man.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Why?
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Why?
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Just like when he's talking to others, he's talking to them specifically.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't mean never talk to your mommy and daddy.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Again, doesn't mean that you can't ever talk to anybody else again.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: You have to live like a harman.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: It's not saying that.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: He's talking to him specifically because he knew that young man had a problem.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: That his God was truly money, wealth, riches, fame, fortune.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Fortune and glory, kid.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Fortune and glory.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: He knew that was a problem with him.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: And this is what he knew.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Because he's God, Jesus is God.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Mark 1025, it is easier for the camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: We could go into the philosophy of this.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Some people say, well, the eye of the needle was what they call the entrance way at whatever.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: That's what the point is, let's take it,
-
[SPEAKER_00]: into a true statement.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: What if they mean a real needle?
-
[SPEAKER_00]: What they do mean the the entrance way to the city?
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Doesn't matter, point is, it's difficult for a rich man to get to heaven.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Why?
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Because a rich man doesn't go to heaven, no.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: A rich man can go to heaven if God is his true Lord.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: If Jesus Christ is his Lord, Savior, a rich man has a difficulty in the sense that they're so used to taking care of their own things.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Sometimes, don't go to the Lord, and they need the Lord.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: And they think, well, George Washington will take care of this.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Abraham Lincoln, I'll probably not them, probably much bigger on the bills.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Ephesians chapter 5, verses 5 and 6.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: For this, you know that no sexually immoral or impure person, or want who is greedy, or
-
[SPEAKER_00]: has any inheritance of the kingdom of Christ and of God.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: But no one deceive you with empty words for because of these things, the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: I've heard so many people, may I have had one person in particular say, well, if you're rich, you'll never go to heaven.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: That's not what it's saying.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: and saying that people who do not know the Lord, who put this stuff before the Lord, and that becomes their God.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Part of it, you have to remember, who's also talking to the, and I don't know what I'm talking about Paul there, but I'm talking about Jesus himself, was a lot of times speaking to a crowd that had Pharisees who had Sadducees, who put themselves way up there on the block, looking down upon the poor.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: In fact, I won't go to it, but there's one moment where he was speaking about a woman,
-
[SPEAKER_00]: smallest.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: And he said, you see, you see, see that woman there, she is richer than all of these others.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: She's richer than all of them.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: And I've got to say this to you.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: You who come here, we're in a small church, there's smaller church, by the way.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: But you're in a small church with an not so small pastor, but you're in a small church.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: And yes, there are bigger churches, but you know what, you're wealthy.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: You're wealthy spiritually.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: You know why?
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Because you're putting your all towards Jesus.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: You're receiving riches, not because I'm here, not because they're here, but because you're here with all your heart to receive the glory and riches of God.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: And when you get to heaven, oh, and you're getting to heaven.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: The Lord God is going to bless you because your heart is in the right place to do the right things for the Lord and Savior, the only Lord in Savior, and He will bless you for it.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: That is the truth.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not some car salesman.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not a pirate.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: No, I'm not.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: I wouldn't if I could.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I wouldn't if I could.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: I only had a high patch once in my life that I wore because I saw double.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: And I worked for a while.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: It did not look good on me.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: I'll be honest with you.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: It didn't look good.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: But I worked for a time.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: But I'm glad not to have to wear that of the thing anymore.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: I worked the solid double and sometimes I see double now.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: But I'm not putting my patch back on.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Nope, because I don't wanna be thought of as a pirate.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: No, I'm not a pirate.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm a man of God.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: And so are you or a woman of God.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: But you are Christian.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Let it be that way.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: First Timothy three, two, three, first Timothy three, two, three, and over seeer, then must be blameless.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: The husband of one wife, wait a minute, has been a one wife, what does that mean?
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Some people like Charles Stanley Church misunderstood this.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: They sold, said to him when his wife left him.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: I won't go into all that except to say that they said, oh, he can never be married again.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: They missed understood it.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: The husband and one wife meant simply because at that time, there are people who were having more than one wife at a time.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: It meant one wife at a time is what it meant.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: One wife at a time.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: So the overseer must be blameless.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: The husband and one wife sober, self-controlled, respectful, receiving a respectable, hospitable, able to teach,
-
[SPEAKER_00]: not given to drunkness or violent or greedy for money, but patient, not argumentative, not covetous.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Now, does that mean he has to be perfect?
-
[SPEAKER_00]: No, he's jamming.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: But...
-
[SPEAKER_00]: There's a lot of people who will read the Bible, read what a Christian should be, and they seem to think that they're not have to work on themselves, but the pastor does, actually all of them, every Christian has to do their very best to follow the Lord Jesus Christ, but a pastor does have to work very, very hard.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Why?
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Because he's supposed to lead the people.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: He can't be out there live in ungodly.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Like a pirate, this is why I'm saying this because so many pirates out there are trying to leave people and they're being greedy and they're being ungodly in that sense.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, it just drives me insane.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: But let's move on.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Let's move on.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: There's so many marooned seekers.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: A rune of seekers, no.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not trying to quote bugs money here.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: What am I ruining?
-
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not trying to do that.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm talking about in the story,
-
[SPEAKER_00]: in the story of Treasure Island, bin gun is marooned.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: That means he's left all by himself on an island.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: He's left in that terrible island.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, there's a lot of people in this world who are going to be marooned.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Marooned in this world, stuck, never finding Christ.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: So there are a lot of Reverend bin gun types who are leading these people to be lost forever.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Marooned, Marooned, and in a way they're given the black spot of sin.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: They're going to be found.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: All because of being misled in the story.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm trying to read it for anyone.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sure by now you've seen it already sort of in the story.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Ben Gunn has found the treasure.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: And he has on that island.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: He has all this treasure.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: It has on the island, but he can't get it off there.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: He's stuck on this island with this treasure.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: What's he going to do with this?
-
[SPEAKER_00]: What good is treasure if you can do nothing with it?
-
[SPEAKER_00]: And folks, so many people have a lot of wealth and we might look at them on TV and say, but look what they have.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but what good is the treasure if you can do nothing with it?
-
[SPEAKER_00]: If you can do nothing with it, a being gun had all the treasure that they had wanted.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: By the way, he had been an old pirate.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: But what good is that treasure do a him?
-
[SPEAKER_00]: What's he going to do with that treasure?
-
[SPEAKER_00]: You can't buy anything.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, he can set their look at the sparkleies of the gold.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: And other jewels.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: How many people?
-
[SPEAKER_00]: are on their way to hell.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: This is not a good thing, obviously.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: They think that they have a great life, but they haven't found tree treasure of everlasting treasure of Jesus Christ.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: It says in Proverbs 21, verse 20, there is treasure to be desired and oil in the dwelling of the wise, but a foolish man swanters it.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: A foolish man swanters it.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: James chapter four,
-
[SPEAKER_00]: come now, you who say, today and tomorrow, we will go into this city, spend a year there, buy and sell and make a profit, or as you do not know what will happen tomorrow.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: What is your life?
-
[SPEAKER_00]: It is a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Instead, you ought to say, if the Lord wills,
-
[SPEAKER_00]: we will, we shall live and do this or that.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: But now you rejoice, excuse me, now you're rejoicing in your boostings, all such rejoicing is evil.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: So many people have plans that will never happen.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: They will never happen, because it's not God's will.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: We don't know what's gonna happen.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: We should follow God and see what He will have for us.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: I saw a young lady just the other day.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: on YouTube, talking to a Christian and she was saying that she has proof that there is no God.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: It really made me sad.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Some people were laughing, there's nothing to laugh about those.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: This poor young soul unless she comes in a crisis, we'll see what happens, but that's so sad.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: She believes herself to be too intelligent.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: You see how Satan blinds
-
[SPEAKER_00]: What research does she have?
-
[SPEAKER_00]: None.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: What research does what she has, what she dies, none.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: There's nothing to laugh about.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: That's horrible.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: First John chapter 2, 15 through 17, do not love the world or the things in the world.
1 John 2 chapter mention
-
[SPEAKER_00]: If anyone loves the world, the love of the father is not in him.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: This is why I went crazy and say, well, I think we should have both.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: You can't have both.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Listen.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: They're going to hate your guts and liver, not because of you, but because of Jesus Christ who's in you.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: And if they do not, if they think you're wonderful for being how you are, they think you're wonderful because you're just like, oh, I like how you get along with this.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, you can love them.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: You can be kind of if they think you're just like them, you better check yourself before you wreck yourself because you're just like them.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: That means they don't sing Jesus in you and there's an issue.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: There's a problem, a big problem.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: It says, do not love the world of things in the world.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in Him.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: For all that is in the world, for 16th, for all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: For 17th, the world, and its desires are passing away, but the one who does the will of God lives forever, amen.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Now you've heard this, these two verses I probably quoted, at least once a month, but it's a burden.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: And I want you to keep it with you.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Proverbs chapter three verse five and six.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Proverbs chapter three verse five and six.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Trust in the Lord with all your heart.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: And lean not on your own understanding in all your ways of knowledge, him, and he will direct your paths.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: The folks, if you're a treasure map, sending you to a treasure that's gonna send you to hell, what good is it?
-
[SPEAKER_00]: What good is it?
-
[SPEAKER_00]: I say, get a different map and get it from a different place.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: When I went to Hollywood, speaking of hell, when I went to Hollywood, because it's like Sodam, and I say New York is Gomorrah.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: But either way, it just a couple years out.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: One year I went to New York, luckily I didn't go in, but was out outside of technically I was in, because I was at Elic Island,
-
[SPEAKER_00]: You've seen New York, a couple years later, I'm out in California, once I don't want to go more.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: But I'm there in California, and they're giving me a map, different places you can find in Hollywood.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: You have two or three maps, and they're trying to sell everything they can to you.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Keep in mind, I just went through three brain surgeries earlier that year.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: One brain surgery, exactly one week in a day before, and they're trying everything they cannot be as super nice as me.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: super nice and the person who was with me was like you're you're being a sucker for everything saying no I'm not I'm being nice I'm being nice the great thing we have brain surgery especially in the condition I was in I could be nice and get away with it and I was just sitting there saying thank you so not I just walk on you know the thing is is I wasn't going to fall for it but all these maps look completely different
-
[SPEAKER_00]: completely different and told you that this house belonged to this person this long, but that person there will send you the wrong places.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't need those maps.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't need to know about these famous people.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: I love them.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: I hope the best form.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: I appreciate their movies, I guess.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: But guess what?
-
[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't know the most famous of all times, most well known.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: The greatest of all time, the only one who I needed to know, and I already have a map that leads to his home.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: And he
-
[SPEAKER_00]: guess what?
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Sadly, I doubt most of them know him.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: I know how to get there, asking him into my heart's my personal word savior, but you know why?
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Because X marks the spot in the Greek, the New Testament that is, the word for Christ is, I can't say it, it starts with
-
[SPEAKER_00]: and kind of a T kind of an O and kind of an E. I say, kind of, because it looks like that, but it's not really, which in Roman Latin letters becomes Christos, Christos, and which gives English its word Christ.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: They're Greek equivalent of Messiah in Jewish word.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: So this is what we get Christ, it's from Christos.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: or crystal, some call it, but it comes from that very strange thing, but it starts with an X.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: So because of that, the first two Greek letters of that, they give us sometimes written in that.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: They give us X and a P, but usually they start, there's gives the X.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: This is the monogram for Christ.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: And so it's called Chi.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: The 20, which is the X is the Chi.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: It's the 22nd letter of the Greek alphabet.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: And so because of that, the increase in tradition,
-
[SPEAKER_00]: because it began with a chi, it is recognized as a contraction that is recognized as a name of Christ.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: This is why we have X-Mess.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: It's not to X-Christ out.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: It's because it means Christ, Miss, Christmas.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: That's what it means.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: This is why we have X-Men, not because of the comic book.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: That's just a lucky situation for me.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm a fan of that silly old thing.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: But the truth is, it means Christ, men, work to be like Christ, Christ like.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: And that's what the X means.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: And so yes, in this situation, when you're really looking for the true treasure, everlasting treasure, X marks the spot.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: So when people, if you look at the X-Men logo, I made, it's a cross that looks kind of like an X.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: The reason and the treasure that people are looking for that will last forever, it is for Christ because it will go forever and ever in its X.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: What people need to see on you is the ex on your heart.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: That's that ex cross.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: It is Jesus Christ who needs to be on you.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: That is the thing that marks the spot of treasure that will never be taken away.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: No matter what, no one can take it away, not ever.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: And people who say you can lose your salvation, they really need to read John chapter 10, verse 25 through 30.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: No one can pluck you out of my father's hand.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: No one can pluck you out of my hand.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: My father and I are one.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Amen.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: And by the way, Satan tried to convince me while I was in the hospital, I was going to go to hell.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: He tried to convince me I was in hell, but God showed me different.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: And I know without a shout out when I die, I'm going to be in the arms of Jesus Christ.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: And nothing, nothing, nothing to take that treasure away from me.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: I know, Matthew chapter 13, 36 through 52.
Matthew 13 chapter mention
-
[SPEAKER_00]: And I wrote down to myself that this is a must.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: And so I know I must read it.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Matthew 13, 36-352, and it says, the angels sent the crowds away and went into the house, and his disciples came to him saying, explain to us the parable of the weeds in the field.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: He answered, he who shows the good seed is the Son of Man.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: The field is the world.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: And the good seed are the sons of the kingdom, but the weeds are the sons of the evil one.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: The enemy who sowed them is the devil.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: The harvest is the end of the world, and the repers are the angels.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: excuse me, therefore, as the Weas are gathered and burned in the fire, so it shall be in the end of this world.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: The Son of Man shall send out His angels and they shall gather out His out of His kingdom, all the things that offend and those who do evil.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: And we'll throw them into
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Then the rights this will shine forth as the sun and the kingdom of their father, whoever has he ears, let
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Excuse me, whoever has ears to hear, let him hear.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Again, the kingdom of heaven, as like treasure, hidden in the field, which a man found and hid, and with joy over it, he goes and sells, all that he has, and buys that field.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Again, the kingdom of heaven, verse 45, again, the kingdom of heaven, is like a merchant seeking beautiful pearls.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: who, on finding one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had and bought it.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Again, the King of Heaven is like a net.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: that was cast into the sea and gather all kinds of fish.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: I remember speaking mostly to fishermen, all kinds of fish, when it was full, they drew it to shore, sat down and gathered the good into the basket.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: But through the bad away, so shall I be at the end of the world, the answers will come, will come out and separate the evil from the righteous and throw them into the fiery furnace.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: There will be whaling and gnashing of teeth.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to read 51, 52.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Jesus said to them, have you understood all of these things?
-
[SPEAKER_00]: They said to him, yes, Lord, then he said to them, therefore, every scribe who is disciples for the kingdom of heaven is like a man who is master of the household who brings out his treasure, new and old things.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: It says in Philippians 419, but my God shall supply your every need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: When we get to heaven, it's gonna be a beautiful day.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Rather you die within the next 30, 40, 15, 20 years, I don't know, or rather God comes and takes his home.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: When you get there, it's gonna be a beautiful beautiful day.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: And when you get there,
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Now, I'm gonna go and show you that little treasure chest.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Now, here's the thing about that.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: You do have treasures here on earth.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: There's nothing wrong with that.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Have treasures here on earth.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Make sure those treasures don't own you.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: But you have another treasure chest, too.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: This treasure chest is big and beautiful.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: And the thing about it is inside this treasure chest depends upon you.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: What's in it?
-
[SPEAKER_00]: What is going to be waiting for you in heaven?
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Now, I can't even begin to really compare what you're going to have in heaven.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: I can't begin to compare.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: So when you see a couple things I have in here, just know I have no idea what you're going to have.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: But I had to put in a couple things and I had to put in that treasure chest, that little treasure chest, which I found later.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: I just thought, see the Lord is already sitting things up.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: First of all, the first thing you're going to have is Jesus, your Lord and Savior.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: If you don't have your Lord's Savior, guess what?
-
[SPEAKER_00]: You're not gonna have a treasure chest.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Not gonna have it.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Not at all.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: I love the Lord.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Second of all, you wouldn't have the Lord God if you weren't for this, the cross.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: But he just sat on that cross.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: I was like, how's Empty?
-
[SPEAKER_00]: This is the gospel.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: It's the gospel.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Guess what else you have?
-
[SPEAKER_00]: I can hear it.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Guess what else you have?
-
[SPEAKER_00]: You have the Word of God that it's with you always.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: If you have it with you, this is a beautiful, beautiful Bible that belong to my dad.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: This belong to my dad and then my grandma.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: And it was gift to me.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Now, I had other Bible's I could have put in here.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: This one's old and worn out.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: But why not put it in here because
-
[SPEAKER_00]: This is also a memory of all sorts of hand me down, of all sorts of memories of things that we do in this world.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: All the memories that you have, the things that you did, the things that you did to other people that was handed off from other people or two other people.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Things that you knew in this world, you may think that you haven't even made a difference or a debt in other people's lives, but my father made debts in this world.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: My grandmother made debts, and even though I may not realize it, I've made debts, you've made debts,
-
[SPEAKER_00]: What kind of dance are you making in this world?
-
[SPEAKER_00]: One other thing, a church, it's church.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: When we were going to the other building, it plays amazing grace, I believe.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Then you're starting to try to play it while we're going to, like, not hush.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: We brought a hat on our worship.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Either way, going to church, why?
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Is that what gets you heaven no?
-
[SPEAKER_00]: But God sees your obedience.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: It's obedience is what it is.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, that's gonna be part of what you receive in heaven.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Treasure for your obedience to God.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: God doesn't judge you.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: You're judged by your obedience to God.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: You need to remember that.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: One other thing that's in here.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: This is my little golden egg.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Little golden egg.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: You know what's in here?
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Little Jesus.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: You know what this is about?
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Hand in the gospel to others.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: When they receive it and then they take it and then they receive it and give it to others too.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: This is about you, stick in the gospel, giving it to other people and it goes to others and others and others.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Folks, how many times do you hand the gospel out to other people?
-
[SPEAKER_00]: I know it's a whole spirit through you.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: My point is is how many people have been ashamed to spread the gospel.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, they might think bad on me.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: They might make fun.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Who cares?
-
[SPEAKER_00]: You're gonna get me fun of anyway.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: It might be because you're not as attractive as your pastor.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: You don't have very much hair.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: It might be because your hair is gray.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: It might be because of I don't know what But you know what you'd rather be made fun of for Jesus Christ than anything else because you'll receive her words for that too He was mocked.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: He was made fun of it for the holy things and you'll receive her words in heaven and they can never I'll say again they can never one more time.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: They can never take those things away from you throw it to the fire the go will not be taken amen
-
[SPEAKER_00]: The final judgment is for the lost, but not for you.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Your judgment is different than theirs.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: When they get up to heaven, it's a sad.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: I used to misunderstand the gospel.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: When they talk about the final judgment off, because I had a father and a mother and there would be times we'd stand before him, and we'd get trouble, or our ground on ground poke, or they happen to.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: I used to think when it came to final judgment, it's gonna be like you're standing in front of our folks.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: And we might get a spank.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: You're not gonna get a spank in a heaven.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Sadly, the spankings are for the lost.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: You're gonna stand before them and receive your rewards.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: God's not gonna remind you of all your mistakes.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: That's for the loss.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: You don't have to say, brother, say it's throughout the name names.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Brother, sister, remember that time that you could have, you could have, you don't worry about that.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Now, yes, there's times we messed up, but,
-
[SPEAKER_00]: The God is not gonna take out these rewards.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Wonderful rewards, to say, see this big golden egg, could it be yours, but move, you're not gonna do it, can you make you sad?
-
[SPEAKER_00]: No, no, no, not gonna do that.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: He's not there to hand out sorrow, but joy.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Everlasting joy, serve with all your heart and soul and God reward you like you would believe,
-
[SPEAKER_00]: your allowance is going to be amazing.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Unbelievable, amazing.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Colossians 2 and 2 and 3, we receive treasures even in difficult times.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm talking about here on earth.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: You receive treasures even here on earth.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Even here on earth, it's not the everlasting, but the rewards that you can receive here on earth.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Let's take a look at them.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: That, their hearts, I couldn't find a good place to start, I apologize.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Verse 2, Colossians 2, 2 and 3, that their hearts may be comforted
-
[SPEAKER_00]: being knit together in love and receive all the riches and assurance of full understanding and knowledge of the mystery of God, both of the Father and of Christ.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: In whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge?
-
[SPEAKER_00]: That's treasures here on earth.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Whenever you don't quite understand the word, don't a God, you'll give it to ya.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe you go through the pastor, maybe teachers, maybe brothers, sisters of Christ.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Still help ya.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: I've never been young, believe it or not, I've never been young,
-
[SPEAKER_00]: And so not as we would say, I just don't understand it.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, try it, don't do it on your own.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Go through the Holy Spirit.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Go through the praise the Lord, I had a good dad.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Who I say, dad, I just don't understand this.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: He'd go, I understand.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: And he'd sit down with me, and he would tell me.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: And he'd go, do you know what?
-
[SPEAKER_00]: I used to not understand it, too.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: See, he never condemned me.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: And he never made me feel stupid.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Because he knew I already felt that way.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: But you don't have to feel stupid either.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Just because you don't understand.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Now don't mean you won't.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Second Corinthians, four, seven.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: But we have this treasure in earthen vessels.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: That's not my Christ.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: The ex, the ex, I'm gonna say to get, the excellency of the power being from God and not from ourselves.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: See, this proves the prosperity pirate's wrong.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Doesn't it?
-
[SPEAKER_00]: They don't earn because they're so great.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: They earn because the great one lives within us.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: That's why we earn.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know you.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: First Peter, one, three, three, five in Peter knows.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Peter knew the Lord Jesus personally.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Hey, new him intimately.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Let's say what I say is the first Peter chapter 1, three, three, five.
1 Peter 1 chapter mention
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who, according to his abundant mercy, has given us a new birth into a living hope through the rest direction of Jesus Christ from the dead.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: to an incorruptible and undefiled inheritance that does not fade away, kept in heaven for you, who are protected by the power God through faith, for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: What does it say that does not what?
-
[SPEAKER_00]: That does not fade away.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Who?
-
[SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't fade away.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: So Christian, know the difference.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Know the difference between earthly treasures as the gifts
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, it's rust.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, it's moth, time of destruction and destroying.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: And know that there's between that earthly treasures and eternal treasures.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Earthly treasures, any eternal treasures, these are gifts to receive after this life.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Nothing will take them away, nothing.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Have you ever wanted to give so bad or wanted something so bad?
-
[SPEAKER_00]: And maybe it's something you saw that you wanted to give for yourself.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: And you wanted to go, this would be before you could order it online.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, I used to have things and, okay, I'm guilty.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: I, you know, I used to collect boys and things, but even not.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: So, so I used to, when they only had one, I remember one of the ticker I wanted real bad.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: And I remember hiding it behind all the others or other things.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: So I'd go back and get it when I got my allowance.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: My $5 allowance.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: So I went back to get it and it was gone.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I missed that.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: What's I have it now?
-
[SPEAKER_00]: But the point of all this is to say, I ordered it two years ago.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: I was able to get it down.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: I did get it in 1986 when I wanted it.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: So I got it in 2025.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: The point is this, the thing is just the thing.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: But sometimes it's that reward.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: I think it was better for waiting.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: The point is, is that when you're in heaven and you receive your words, nothing is gonna take it off stock, nothing is going to, what set it up for Monday yet?
-
[SPEAKER_00]: No, you're not gonna have to go on eBay and buy it for $50 more than what it was worth just two days before.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: People try that, you know.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: No, it's not that.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: When God gives you your reward, nobody else can give it to you and nobody can take it away from you.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: It is yours and yours alone.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm going to close.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to close with Luke 12, 33 to 34.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: It's another version of what we started with to know that you have rewards coming to you.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Rewards and to know that if treasures on earth will go away, who a God gives you, never will, never, never will.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: It says, sell your, this is a verse 33, sell your possessions and give others,
-
[SPEAKER_00]: And unfailing treasure in the heavens where no thief comes near and no mob destroys.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be old so.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't want you to misunderstand and think that I'm saying you're bad for having you.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not saying that at all.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Make sure today that you realize that God loves you so much.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Your treasure to him, children.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: And he is, of course, to be treasured to us.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: He loves you so very, very much.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: And by the way, a lot of times what we think is treasure, what we think what we want, and we don't get it.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: We, well, why didn't I get that?
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I don't understand why God didn't love me enough to have, let me have that treasure.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Later on with Tony find out there was a reason.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe it was nothing but rust, nothing but moth, nothing but destruction, and it would have destroyed you.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Morely, maybe in the spirit of not talking about salvation.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe if we've received it, we wouldn't be where we're at now.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Be thankful and grateful that God knows better than you.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Amen?
-
[SPEAKER_00]: That's bound for you.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Lord Jesus Christ, thank you for being with us.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you Lord Jesus Christ for the treasures that you give us.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Not for the treasures we want, but the treasures we need.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: I thank you Lord God for not always allowing us to have what we want.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: And Lord Jesus Christ, thank you for bringing us up
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Lord, I pray that you will continue to bless us in Lord that we will receive you as you receive us.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: I pray for blessings upon each and every one of these people, Lord, if they're being here today, who is not feeling well, I pray there to be blessings upon them.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: If there's people here who want to join today, I pray Lord, God, you bless them, and that they will be able to do so.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: I also pray for people around home right now, for looking for answers, I pray Lord, God, you'll give them the answers of seeking.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: I pray for all this in your holy precious name, amen.
