The Lord Is Close To You | Passion Week | Guided Prayers

The Saturday after Jesus' death on the cross, it was quiet.

The followers of Jesus likely felt discouraged, confused, and doubtful.

Jesus was in a grave.

Maybe you can relate to a season of waiting where you had to trust God, but you had no way of seeing a hopeful outcome.

Psalm 34, 18 says, the Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

In seasons of deep sorrow, lament, and brokenness, God is close to you.

Repeat this truth today.

Lord, thank you for being close to me in my seasons of suffering.

Tell God one way it's easy to doubt His presence when the outcome isn't clear.

Ask God to bring someone to mind that you can pray for today.

Now ask God to give this person peace in the waiting.

You are faithful, and we will rehearse that truth today because your character doesn't change when our circumstances do.
