-
Today, as we pray, find a quiet place to connect with God.
-
Put yourself in an environment where you can hear Him, distraction-free.
-
Maybe you are in a busy or a public place.
-
Close your eyes if you can and block out anything that might fight for your attention.
-
Would you say out loud with me, God, I'm here to meet with you.
-
Acts 17, 27 through 28 says, He is not far from any one of us, for in him we live and move and have our being.
-
God did not create the world and stay far away.
-
He is near to every person he made.
-
You live, move, and breathe within his presence.
-
Say this prayer along with me.
-
God, thank you for staying near.
-
Thank you for surrounding my life with your presence.
-
Next, ask God to make his nearness real to you today.
-
Tell him where you feel distant or alone.
-
Invite him in and ask him to help you become aware of him in those places today.
-
Close, safe, surrounded.
-
Let your mind stay on that picture for the next fifteen seconds and wait on the presence of God.
-
Do you know someone who is far from God or someone who might in this season feel distant from God?
-
Take the next minute and pray for them.
-
Help us to live aware of your presence today.
-
Amen.
