Today we're going to begin by reading Romans 8, 15 through 17.
-
First, let's take a moment to quiet the distractions of the day.
-
Take a deep breath.
-
And ask God to remind you of his presence right in this moment.
-
Romans 8, 15 through 17 says this.
-
For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the spirit of adoption as sons by whom we cry, Abba, Father.
-
The Spirit Himself bears witness with our Spirit that we are children of God.
-
And if children, then heirs, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him.
-
One of the most beautiful identity points we claim as followers of Jesus is our adoption into his family.
-
If you follow Jesus, you are adopted as a child of God.
-
You belong to him, and he loves you.
-
Talk to God now about the emotions or feelings that come to mind when you reflect on your place of belonging in God's family.
-
God loves you so much that he made a way for you to be reconnected to his family.
-
You are a fellow heir with Christ.
-
Repeat his truth today as you praise God for his love.
-
I have received the spirit of adoption.
-
Thank you, Lord.
-
Amen.
