Proverbs 4 is all about valuing wisdom and its effect on our lives.
-
We should pursue wisdom and get it at any cost because it's that valuable.
-
Once we have it, we need to guard it.
-
Let's read Proverbs 423 for context.
-
It says, above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.
-
The author here is pleading with his sons to prioritize wisdom and to pay special attention to the path they walk.
-
This father knows that what fills the heart eventually shapes a life.
-
Today we are going to ask God to help us guard our hearts with wisdom.
-
Take a moment to become aware of his presence with you now.
-
Thank God that he offers wisdom generously to those who seek it.
-
Praise him that he cares about the direction of your life and the condition of your heart.
-
Are there voices, habits, or attitudes that are shaping you more than his truth?
-
Bring those before him now.
-
Rest in the confidence that he is helping you walk a steady path.
-
Amen.
