-
Before Jesus went to the cross, he prayed.
-
And even though he was about to face death, his focus was on our unity as his church.
-
In John 17, Jesus prays for his disciples and for all who would believe in him through their message.
-
He says in verse 21, that all of them may be one.
-
Father, just as you are in me and I am in you.
-
One night before his crucifixion, Jesus prayed that his followers would live in unity.
-
Unity is choosing love, humility, and shared purpose under Christ.
-
Today we are going to pray for unity in the church.
-
Take a moment to quiet your heart.
-
Remember that you belong to something bigger than yourself.
-
Is there pride, comparison, resentment, or judgment that needs to be surrendered?
-
Bring that before him now.
-
Extend grace.
-
Pursue reconciliation when needed.
-
Let our unity perflect your love to the world.
-
Amen.
