-
In a world that celebrates productivity and constant activity, rest can sometimes feel uncomfortable.
-
There is always another task to complete, another message to answer, another responsibility waiting for our attention.
-
But from the very beginning of Scripture, God established a rhythm for his people.
-
In Exodus 28 through 11, we read, remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy.
-
Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God.
-
This command is not simply about stopping work.
-
It is about trust.
-
When we rest, we acknowledge that God is the one who sustains our lives.
-
Our worth is not defined by what we accomplish.
-
Today we are going to pause and remember the gift of Sabbath.
-
Take a moment to quiet your heart and release the pressure to perform.
-
Take a moment to thank God for the gift of rest.
-
Praise Him that He designed a rhythm of work and restoration for His people.
-
Bring those before Him now.
-
I receive the gift of rest you have given.
-
Thank you for renewing my soul.
-
Amen.
