-
In the busyness of life, in the chaos that our schedules can bring, today we have an invitation from God to simply be still.
-
To be still and know that He is God.
-
These words come from Psalm 46, 10, where God says, be still and know that I am God.
-
Stillness is not something our world encourages.
-
We are often moving quickly from one task to the next, filling every quiet moment with activity or noise.
-
But this invitation from God reminds us that our faith does not grow through constant striving.
-
It grows through trust.
-
When we are still, we remember who God is and who we are not.
-
Today we are going to pause and allow God to quiet our hearts.
-
Take a slow breath and become aware that He is present with you right now.
-
Take a moment to thank God that He is sovereign over every detail of your life.
-
Praise Him that He is steady and unchanging, even when your life feels busy or overwhelming.
-
Bring to Him anything that has been creating pressure or stress in your life.
-
Repeat after me, God, you are in control.
-
I rest in your presence today.
-
Thank you for inviting me to be still.
-
Amen.
