Today we're going to practice praying scripture.
-
Sometimes it's difficult to find the words to say in prayer, especially if we are hurting or experiencing grief.
-
God knows this.
-
And in Psalm 34:18, we find comforting words to remind us of God's relationship to us when we are feeling broken.
-
Let's read through Psalm 34.18 a couple of times and then pray through the words of this verse to God.
-
The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
-
Now pray through these words by repeating them or offer your own response as we slowly go through this verse.
-
Lord, I praise you that you are close to me right now.
-
Thank you for being a God who saves.
-
God, I confess that sometimes you feel far away when I am grieving.
-
Sometimes it's hard to believe the words I read in Psalms 34:18, that you are close and that you save me.
-
I believe your word is true.
-
Thank you, God, for knowing exactly what I need in my brokenness.
-
Even when my circumstances are challenging, I will trust you and will give you praise because you are good.
-
Amen.
