-
As we begin today, I want you to picture God trying to talk to you.
-
Imagine what it looks like for him to be leaned in for a long conversation: laughter, tears, frustration, joy, all of these emotions as if you are talking to your closest friend.
-
This is the type of conversation that God is available for each and every day.
-
In fact, he prefers it.
-
Talking you through every high and low of each day.
-
Prayer is not a one-time moment, it's an ongoing conversation.
-
Even when answers delay, God invites you to keep talking to him.
-
Luke writes this in his gospel account.
-
They should always pray and not give up.
-
Luke 18.1.
-
In your own words and out loud, thank God for inviting you to keep coming back to Him.
-
For the next sixty seconds, bring something you've been praying about.
-
Take this time to go to God again and ask for favor in what you need.
-
Ask for endurance to keep trusting Him.
-
Pause for a moment and whisper.
-
I will not give up.
-
I know you are with me, God.
-
Say it again.
-
I will not give up.
-
I know you are with me, God.
-
Now we are going to believe for someone else.
-
Do you know someone who has been believing for a need for a long time?
-
Let's join our prayers with theirs and ask God to help them today.
-
Agree in your mind with this closing prayer.
-
Father, thank you for strengthening us to keep praying.
-
You are our strength.
-
You uphold us and sustain us.
-
Energize us today and stir up our faith.
-
We love you, Father.
-
Amen.
