-
Today's thought may be a hard truth for some of us, possibly a healthy convicting thought.
-
In order to convey the heart of what we are focusing on, let's go to Scripture.
-
Hebrews 12 6 says, The Lord disciplines the one he loves.
-
God's love as a father includes correction, not to harm you, but rather to shape you.
-
His discipline is not rejection.
-
It is care that leads you toward growth and maturity.
-
He is invested in who you are becoming.
-
Let's start this next moment by giving thanks to God that he cares enough to guide and correct you.
-
Answer this question honestly.
-
How has his guidance shaped your life?
-
Tell God where you may be resisting his correction.
-
Ask him to give you a teachable and open heart.
-
Invite him to help you see his discipline as love and not rejection.
-
Ask him to shape your character through his guidance.
-
This is not always an easy subject to reflect on.
-
Let's take sixty seconds to sit quietly and allow your heart to become open and responsive.
-
Let humility replace resistance.
-
Amen.
