-
As we get started today, I want you to clear your mind and picture a father carrying his child.
-
Maybe the child fell asleep in the car and is being carried peacefully to their crib for a nap.
-
Perhaps the child fell and scraped their knee and ran to the father for help.
-
Or maybe the child just needed a loving embrace from dad.
-
Sometimes there are seasons where you simply don't have the strength to keep moving forward on your own.
-
Maybe today is one of those days.
-
In those moments, God doesn't demand more from you.
-
He carries you.
-
Like a loving father, he lifts you up and walks with you through every step.
-
Deuteronomy 1.31 says, The Lord your God carried you as a father carries his son.
-
As you are focused on this idea of a father carrying his child, take 20 seconds and thank God for carrying you through seasons you couldn't handle alone.
-
Ask him to carry you in this season and to take the pressure off your shoulders.
-
Invite him to remind you that you don't have to hold everything together.
-
In the picture, I want you to imagine that Jesus is the one lifting you up.
-
Amen.
