-
Today, as we pray together, quiet your mind before God.
-
So often, the busyness of our days and clutter of our minds is what distracts us from God's constant presence.
-
Our surroundings can help prepare a place for our bodies and minds to pause and connect with God.
-
But take 20 seconds to breathe and focus on God to get your brain ready.
-
It says this: My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways.
-
To know there is a God with a bigger plan, a higher perspective, a wider scope, who is in control and on our side is an overwhelmingly wonderful thing.
-
There will be times when God's ways don't immediately make sense.
-
And his ways reaches beyond what we concurrently see.
-
Obedience often means trusting that God knows something we do not.
-
His ways are always shaped by love and wisdom.
-
He is a good God and a loving father towards you.
-
Can we start by thanking God for that?
-
For that higher perspective, that wisdom beyond our logic, strategizing and understanding.
-
Take thirty seconds and reflect on times when his plans prove better than your own and thank him for it.
-
Be honest about your questions and frustrations.
-
Then ask him for the grace to trust him even when you don't fully understand.
-
Invite him to strengthen your confidence in his goodness and wisdom.
-
Take a deep breath and focus on releasing the need to understand everything as you exhale.
-
Let trust become your response to uncertainty.
-
Inhale, I don't see it yet.
-
And exhale, but I trust you.
-
Inhale, God, I don't see it yet.
-
And exhale, I trust you.
-
Inhale, Lord, I don't understand it yet.
-
And exhale, but I trust you.
-
Lord, thank you that your ways are higher and better than ours.
-
We trust you and strive only to enter your rest.
-
Give us patience in the waiting, peace in the middle, and trust while things are still in process.
-
Amen.
