When the strong get tired, not weak, not lazy,
-
tired. In this powerful episode of Pomoja Podcast,
-
I expose the hidden system of exhaustion and
-
how constant pressure, busyness, and fatigue
-
can slowly pull believers away from prayer, from
-
intimacy with God, and from spiritual discipline.
-
This is not just about being busy. It is about
-
protecting your spiritual life. A timely message
-
for every believer carrying pressure, responsibility,
-
leadership, family, ministry, and exhaustion.
-
Because exhaustion is not just a condition, it
-
can become a weapon. Welcome to Pomona Podcasts,
-
a ministry of Life of Christ International. where
-
we build stronger lives, deeper faith, and Christ
-
-centered foundations. One story, one message,
-
and one revelation at a time. I'm your host,
-
Barry Mwamba. Welcome back to another episode
-
of Pomonga Podcast. Today, I want to share something
-
that has been pressing on my heart lately. Not
-
just a thought, but a spiritual reality many
-
believers are living without recognizing it.
-
Fatigue. The struggle of being tired. The struggle
-
of exhaustion. When the strong get tired. But
-
before we go further, let me establish something
-
clearly. Being tired is normal. Even Jesus, 100
-
% God and 100 % man, experience physical fatigue.
-
We see Jesus sleeping in the boat. We see moments
-
where he withdrew from people. We see him resting
-
in Martha's house. We see him sitting at the
-
well before speaking to the Samaritan woman.
-
Remember, back then, people walked miles when
-
traveling. So yes, our master Jesus Christ experienced
-
physical exhaustion. So being tired is not the
-
problem. Work is not the problem either. The
-
Bible says, by the sweat of your brow, you shall
-
eat. A consequence of Adam and Eve's fall. Human
-
labor, difficult toil, hard work for survival.
-
And Paul said, if a man does not work, he shall
-
not eat. So let me make this clear. I am not
-
promoting laziness. I am not defending irresponsibility.
-
We work to make a living. But the issue begins
-
when work takes priority. over what sustains
-
you spiritually. Because there is a system, a
-
hidden system, busy, distracted, occupied, consumed,
-
always chasing something, success, money, stability,
-
recognition. And while you are chasing, something
-
else is happening. Your time is being consumed.
-
Your energy is being drained. Your spiritual
-
margin is disappearing. You wake up tired. You
-
go through the day tired. You go to bed tired.
-
And somehow you still have to get up and do it
-
all over again. Because life does not pause.
-
Responsibilities don't wait. Bills don't stop.
-
People still expect from you. So you keep going.
-
You wake up running. Your body is moving. Your
-
mind is racing. your thoughts never stop. From
-
morning to night, you are in constant motion.
-
And eventually, you have nothing left. Not because
-
you don't care, but because you are depleted.
-
And that is where the danger begins. Not always
-
in rebellion, but in normalized fatigue, justified
-
exhaustion, accepted neglect, impacting your
-
time with God. impacting your relationship with
-
God impacting your intimacy with the Holy Spirit
-
and little by little your time with God starts
-
fading not intentionally but gradually because
-
exhaustion does not announce itself as danger
-
it presents itself as normal life here's what
-
you must understand exhaustion has a target you
-
more specifically your spiritual life your prayer
-
life, your stillness, your connection with God,
-
your sensitivity to the Holy Spirit, your hunger
-
for the Word of God, your commitment to gather,
-
to serve, and remain planted in the house of
-
God. Not because you rejected God, but because
-
you had nothing left to give Him. And this is
-
where the enemy becomes subtle. Because the enemy
-
does not always need you to stop believing in
-
God. Sometimes he only needs you too exhausted
-
to seek him consistently. Since the Garden of
-
Eden, it has always been the enemy's strategy
-
to separate humanity from the presence of God.
-
And the enemy will use anything meant for good
-
and attempt to turn it into a weapon. Even work,
-
even opportunities, even success. A simple thing
-
like physical exhaustion can become a weapon
-
used to slowly pull believers away from prayer,
-
from worship, from intimacy with God, from meditating
-
on his word, from hearing his voice, and from
-
remaining spiritually alert. And hear me carefully,
-
it is not God who walks away from us. Most of
-
the time, we are the ones who slowly walk away
-
from his presence, away from the place where
-
we are restored. refreshed, strengthened, corrected,
-
forgiven, renewed. The place where burdens break,
-
the place where peace returns, the place where
-
direction becomes clear again. So we must become
-
aware of this spiritual reality and we must act
-
on it. Do you want to know whether something
-
is truly God's will for your life? Ask yourself
-
this, does it bring me closer to God? or farther
-
from him, because God's blessings will always
-
align you with his purpose. Anything that takes
-
priority in your life over God eventually becomes
-
your God. And anything that consistently pulls
-
you away from God's presence, from kingdom priorities,
-
from fellowship, from serving, from worship,
-
must be reevaluated. If it keeps you away from
-
church, If it weakens your intimacy with God,
-
if it challenges your Christian identity, if
-
it slowly removes you from the things that keep
-
your spirit alive, then you must discern it carefully.
-
Find work, build a life, create success, but
-
never at the cost of your spiritual life. Protect
-
your time by establishing spiritual discipline.
-
Give God priority even in your busiest seasons.
-
Return to prayer. Return to stillness. Return
-
to his presence. Jesus often had busy days ahead
-
of him, yet he still withdrew to pray, before
-
sunrise, in solitude, away from the noise. And
-
since realizing this truth, it does not matter
-
how physically exhausted I may be. I still give
-
God the first hours of my day. Not only because
-
I understand this spiritual reality, but because
-
I now understand how deeply I need Him. His guidance,
-
His presence, His protection, His strength, His
-
wisdom, His anointing, His peace. Without Him,
-
we slowly empty ourselves trying to survive life
-
alone. So I leave you with this. Slow down before
-
something forces you to. Rebuild what exhaustion
-
has weakened. Reclaim your intimacy with God.
-
Because exhaustion is not just a condition, it
-
can become a weapon. This is your turning point.
-
Let's pray. Father, in the name of Jesus, I lift
-
up every person under the sound of my voice.
-
those who are tired, those who are exhausted,
-
those who have been running without recovering.
-
Father, we come back to you. Forgive us for the
-
moments we let life take priority over your presence.
-
Restore alignment. Reset our priorities. Teach
-
us to protect our time with you, to return to
-
our place of prayer, to seek you with intention
-
again. Father, renew our strength, bring back
-
clarity, bring back peace, and open our eyes
-
to recognize what is draining us and pulling
-
us away from you. From today, we choose you first
-
in our time, in our decisions, in our daily lives.
-
In Jesus' name, amen. Stay with me because in
-
part two, we go deeper not just physical exhaustion
-
but what it does to your spiritual life if this
-
message blessed you don't keep it to yourself
